Professor gives a lot of assignments, but cares about his students. I would recommend taking his course.
Very unclear and unorganized. I wouldn't wish him on my worst enemy. Time drags by while in class. DON'T take him.
I had him for both ECO and BUS courses. He is an extremely helpful guy. Knows his stuff. There are some days with boring information that drags by, but he does make the effort to change to keep students interested.
do not take him
very unorganized, more interested in talking about himself than doing any teaching, a bad teacher I can't recommend him
He is very unorganized. Never responds to emails. Waits till last minutes to give assignments. He grades you by how much he likes you is how I feel. No matter if you do the work or not. Do not take him!!! I would not even tell my worst enemy to take his course!!!
WORST TEACHER EVER!!!
Wonderful professor ! For thoes whom may not have had good luck with the subject of economics, this instructor is just for you because he makes the suject or chapters of study show relation toeveryday living
Good teacher and a good guy.Make his classes relate to real life so its alot easier to understand than some of the comlpicated text methods.I definitely recomend you take him!
Expect to Read the Chapters in the book, the test are based on that, the lecture are sometimes off of the wall and seem to have nothing to do with the chapters. Don't expect him to follow up on the assignments and test on the syllabus until they are due. Be ready for assignments to just be asked for with no warning.
I have never experienced a professor like Osuanah.. he is the worst teacher hands down ive ever had in any of my schooling.. what everyone says above me is completely accurate..waste of money even though ill pass.. i learned nothing in this class and will not be ready for my next semester class..
You earn it with him and I learned a lot. No slakers in his class. I am ready for JMU.
This professor is very helpful answers your question so you can understand. He know his Business. I will take him again for econ.
Good teacher and willing to help you!Grade you fair and reward you for attending all classes and working had!I wish I had Professor O for all my classes!!!!
Requires a lot participation and you hvae to read the lecture notes. Very knowledgeable and helpfdul. You will be ready for anything after his class. One of the best teachers that I have had, not too easy, not too hard.
He acts like he cares but then gives you a condesending answer. Questions posted to the discussion board are answered at his leisure. He doesn't do what he says or agrees to do. This is a 201 class not a 600. The text is wordy. Overall, one of the worst educational experiences of my life.
TERRIBLE. Osuanah did not reply to over 8 of my emails asking for help. The entire class had this problem. He assigns group projects and then penalizes participants if their partners bail out. He does not follow through with what he says he will do. He disappears for weeks at a time with no word of why. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE, LEARNED NOTHING.
Requires a lot but you will learn and be ready for any university. I wish my profs at VCU were as good or caring. Expect to read his lecture notes and do group work!
If you see this professor for you economics class - run away! The class was disorganized, he failed to respond to requests (his response was "he was travelling", and overall was a horrible experience.
Good guy. Lots of work to pass.
I was very frustrated taking his online course. Responses left me with more questions. The exams were extremely difficult. Somehow, I pulled an A out of a hat at the end of the semester, though, so I would say he takes into consideration how hard you work, even if you get frustrated!
Not a very good communicator. He posted a broken link on blackboard and tried to blame the entire students pc's instead of just reposting a document. I learned absolutely nothing in his intro to business class online. He requires you to do a group paper when the class is online it seems like a stretch to me. Just goes straight through the book.
Tests are extremely hard. Online group projects are not a good idea, but he thinks they are. Ask a question and you get told "look at the syllabus" or "can anyone help him?"...overall a bad teacher (at least online) and would not recommend him to anyone
Online class was hard because you have to read the materials to pass the tests. He requires attendance, group work, and discussions on Blackboard. Everything is spelled out on the syllabus and makes you read it. Even simple question may refer you to the syllabus. Good teacher and even better person though. If you do the stuff, a gurranteed pass.
Horrible communicator, if you ask him a simple question no matter what, he will tell you to "look at the syllabus ", that is not to helpful. He has ONLINE group assignments which I think is ridiculous. It is very difficult to work on a group assignment over the internet with other students. He does not respond to any emails as well.
Took macro online, zero communication, messed around with our groups after we had completed work together, I somehow got taken out of my group which I was leading, and doing a great job. He seems to disappear for no reason for long periods of time. Has an attitude online, and does not has any interest in teaching.
Absolutely horrible teacher; he doesn't reply to any emails and gives online group projects that are of no use because NO ONE RESPONDS ONLINE... despite the fact that I post more often than others, I have a C- while people who even respond to assignments late get A's. Worst teacher ever.
Awsome Teacher ! I love him !
If you do what he asks, which is a lot, you will pass. This is no class or professor for slackers. You will work but he is very reasonable and fair. He gets mad when you are failing--takes it personally, go figure why.
Took online and was the worst professor I have ever took over the course of my time in college. Online group project, yea, useless.Grades everything two days before class is over with for the semester. Waste of time, money and life.
I took his intro to business class online and it was absolutely horrid. I did ok in the class but I found it really difficult. When taking an online class the professor should be more efficient at replying to emails and questions. I sent him 4 emails all semester and not once did he reply. Group assignments for an online class? impossible
ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE INSTRUCTOR. HE IS SUPPOSED TO BE AN ADVISOR ALSO, I CONTACTED HIM 6 TIMES AND NOT ONCE DID I HEAR BACK FROM HIM. JSRCC SHOULD FIRE THIS INDIVIDUAL!
BAD. Took online and he was not helpful to the other students. Group project? online? that was lame. Overall he did not communicate well and keep students up to date when thing where due. Many issue. I got an A but it was hard. Actually had to read each chapter word by word if you want an A.
Terrible professor, he never talked about the book, but the tests were solely based on the book. Had to nit pick to find any answers for the tests, everything in the class seemed set up to be easier for him not the student. He told me all semester that I was doing fine and that he refused to fail people, then gave me an F. Liar!
I was a 4.0 student until I took his business ethics class. I have never seen such a disorganized instructor and then blames the students like it our fault that the links on blackboard are missing or don't work or the information he posted is just plain wrong. Sent several emails and never got a single response. Don't take this instructor!
He is hard to get in touch with, by email, phone, or other means. The course is disorganized, and the assignments are posted up to a week late. The tests include questions on chapters not assigned. He did grade fairly though, and gave an extra credit assignment.
Hard but fair-no slacking b/c you will earn your grade with him. Hard to reach but very helpful.
DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS!! The professor was highly disorganized and unclear about what was due and when. I took the class online, and didn't learn as much as I should have.
Class was very disorganized. Students had no idea of when assignments were due, or exactly what they were. I didn't learn much in this online class, and another student who claimed to be a straight A/B student got a D in this class. DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS WITH THIS INSTRUCTOR IF YOU WANT TO LEARN ANYTHING!
Pain about attendance but easy if you do most of the stuff. You get a chance to take tests 2xs but he insists on group projects. Learned a lot.
Professor was very unorganized, did not use blackboard, I had no idea when work was due. Very unclear in general. Gave me a zero test grade for missing 4 classes
Great class, learned a lot. It you attend class, and turn in what's due on time. It's an easy A!
Great class, an easy A. Just follow the instructions and you will be good.
Very demanding but very helpful, no way to fail the course if you try a little bit.
terrible professor. gave me a c at the end of a class after all a's on tests and homework. horrible professor. didn't teach the class, just allowed you to take tests online with your book. didn;t learn anything
Great professor! Makes you work for your grade, but the work he gives makes you feel as if you are in the business world! Sometimes communication was a little slow, but this is a fairly basic course without much help needed. I wouldn't hesitate to take his courses again.
Make sure you participate ! The discussion board required consistent participation and posts are graded prior to the deadline, if you didn't participate enough before 2 days before the deadline - its over. The questions were fair and my one regret was not staying on top of that . Otherwise, compressed course , fair grading and many E.C. Opport
He is very rude when you have questions about online materials.
This Professor gets so off topic! All of the work we did in this class was cramed into the last few weeks of class, like major projects. He never stays on topic, he's always talking of his personal life and he rarely speaks on what will be on our exams, which are timed and are long. And save your time because he rarely if ever reponds to emails.
Instructor provides little to no assistance during the semester. If you ask him a question through email, he demands that each email is in a specific format. Often times the response is to refer to the syllabus for the answer. He seems very unprepared to teach an online class.
I would not recommend his online class to anyone. He does not respond to emails. The grading system is terrible. You will not learn much or have enough work for a specific grade. The online class is too confusing and very unorganized. If you want your gpa to be affected in a terrible way then take his class.
Overall, disappointed with this class. On-line classes are tough to be into anyway but this one was especially bad. Blackboard was very disorganized and the professor was very hard to reach.
The class wasn't bad. I took his online class. Just do exactly like he tells you to do then you should be fine. His syllabus is easy to read. If the due dates doesn't match then I would do it earlier than both due dates. His due dates are confusing but it's okay. This isn't a class for slackers. I learned a lot from his class. it was amazing.
This professor has conflicting due dates and expects you to know what they are. Also graded discussion board for the second half of the class almost 2 weeks early. Would not respond to emails asking to clarification
This professor is horrible and incredibly rude. Despite having only taken an online course, I found him to be infuriating through our interactions. There are no assignments throughout the semester and relies only on a midterm and final for grades. He provides readings, does absolutely no teaching, but expects you to know the material.
This professor was HORRIBLE. I was part of his 8 week fall class and I did my assignments. IN FACT I was the only person in MY GROUP who submitted our group project topic by email (which I received a response of "that's great! Thank you"from him). He dropped me from the class and said I NEVER attended. When I ask why I get no response. Good Luck
Overall I liked the class style because there were weekly discussion boards and only two tests. But the teacher was not clear on requirements of discussions. He is extremely hard to get in touch with as well. I emailed him, called his office and posted a discussion with no response throughout the whole semester.
Great class if you are self learner. All you have is the textbook and your peers to learn the material. That being said, you don't have a heavy load when it comes to assignments. A weekly blackboard post and then your final and midterm. Both you can take again to try to get a better grade. They are the exact same questions when you take them again.
I'm taking the online summer session, 5 weeks. We had to double up on everything so it's been tough but I feel like I've done average work and he's given me full credit. The attendance criteria was a little confusing but I figured it out. If you start your research for discussion questions on Monday, & do a little work every day, you'll be fine.
Took his class online. Takes forever to grade assignments. Takes even longer to respond to e-mails and/or return phone calls. No textbook is required, so if you're looking for a class where you actually learn something, this isn't it. Class is pretty straight forward & Prof. Osuanah let you take both exams up to 2 times & accepts the highest grade.
The tests that were provided under the course were not reflective of the material being learned in the class. Horrible
Semi-weekly Discussion Questions and weekly graded responses helped cement concepts and promoted critical thinking. The animated graphs and illustrations in the online textbook he used were helpful. Test topics could be more closely aligned with course materials. I would have appreciated clearer rules about test-taking.
I took him this past semester and I have to say he is not very clear when it comes to communication especially when it comes to attendance. There are 2 assignments due every 2 weeks and 1 requires replies to at least 2 people. If the replies are done correctly, you'll get an A- or a B+. Also, there are 2 exams, each can be done by google search.
I'm going to leave the review that u need,DO NOT TAKE HIM,If he is the only prof available u must figure something else out for that term,Do not take him,All the bad feedback is true,RUDE,takes FOR-EV-ER to get back to you,Or never gets back 2 u,Don't take him DO NOT!YOUR GPA WILL FALL DUE TO HIS MISTAKES WITH CANVAS! U R WARNED! You're welcome
Don't take with him. Don't take with him . Don't think about him.
ECO 202 online class. He lays out everything well. Weekly video reflections are easy A's. DB's are heavy hitters. He wants them to be laid out in a certain format & if it's not that way you'll lose a significant amount of points. If u don't get the DBs right it'll dramatically hurt ur grade. there are 7 quizzes/exams including ur final.
Professor Osuanah is usually really about giving feedback on assignments. The class really isn't that hard, just make sure that you submit your work on time. If you submit your work early and don't do that well he will tell you what's wrong and let you resubmit for a higher grade.
To be honest he is great and gives feedback on the assignments he grades. The videos he provides for his students are effective.
Not very helpful when you try to email him and ask questions. Took his class last semester and was an A student but this semester I am barely passing. Takes off points for PA which was never explained fully in the syllabus or when I emailed him. I do like the organization of his class. Needs to work on being clear and consistent.
The one negative thing I will say is that when you email him and ask a problem he's not clear at all when it comes to feedback. When this class first started I wasn't doing very well but in the middle of the semester I got a feel of what he was looking for and then I started to receive an A so I still ended up with an C but go into detail on the Vs
He is not understanding at all. Will not reply to your emails so if you have an imperative question to ask, just go ahead and expect an F because hes NOT responding. Most unprofessional professional Ive ever experienced.
Best teacher I ever had! Ethan
Run he's terrible
Professor Osuanah's class wasn't hard but you have to jump through hoops to get A's on assignments. Messy grading and unhelpful lectures plagued this class. He would cover one concept on a multi part test and say "there's no reason to not get an A" LOL. He did give extra credit and did make an effort to connect/listen to students concerns.
I took Econ 201 and 202 with him during the summer.A in both. One was 5 week other was 10.The one thing to be weary of is the DB. Pay attention and read the syllabus closely. He wants the responses done in a specific way,Ex: if 2 responses a week, they need to be on 2 different days. Its in the syllabus but u have to read carefully. Great Class ovr
This professor really knows what to teach how to teach how to engage with his students really like professor Chris.
Misogynistic, said that men wouldn't want to be with women that have been with a bunch of men, along with many other statements that are not appropriate for a classroom and obviously made the few female students in the class uncomfortable. He also talked about how he would hire disabled people because the government would pay their wages.
Where to even start. I was dropped from the class for missing one test, before I could take the test. (I had 100% attendance, and later after going to administration, got access back into the class.) Lectures teach you nothing. Be prepared to read and teach yourself. Misogynistic comments and jokes.
He's very interesting! He definitely has more traditional views as other people have said, but he isn't forceful about it and it really just seems like his upbringing. He is willing to discuss and admit if another point made is better than his own. Sometimes goes off topic, but just read the study guide and the textbooks delicately.
Don't take him. I've taken him three times now just for the familiarity, but his grading criteria are very unclear. He doesn't communicate promptly regarding clarification. He has said very questionable and inhumane things before and can't stay on the topic of business/economics to save his life. The internet is teaching us, not him.
Like another student said, he is very unclear on his grading criteria and doesn't give feedback on assignments. I emailed him asking to clarify what I did wrong on an assignment and he basically just brushed me off and ignored me, despite following his listed criteria. I wouldn't take him again even if he was my last option.
I cannot say enough positive things about prof. O. He made lectures genuinely fun and connected what we were learning in class to the real world. I actually wanted to listen to his lectures. He is a very funny guy and there is barely any homework at all. If you are taking economics, take both with professor O. Top 3 professor at the school.
Had him for three classes, favorite teacher at Reynolds. His grading is a little confusing and he can get off topic, but his lectures are goated. Dudes hilarious and talks about real life lessons, nothing is sugarcoated. Anyone saying he's offensive should realize he's trying to teach his students how the real world works outside of the classroom.
Such a good professor. He really explains everything in simple real-life terms.
