Cool teacher n,not to strict on attendance and tardiness!! But huge on papers and take homework!! Like to give pop quizes. Overall cool lets you re do all ypur papers for a better grade!! But real strict on the research paper!!

Mr. Padgett is a really good english teacher..he is pretty strict but he'll help with any questions you have..plus hes really hot.

Hes an awesome teacher. He lets you out early when you finish the homework. Gives papers weeks ahead and you just need someone to check it and you leave like 10mins later. And oh yea ladies hes "HOT"

He isn't a great teacher. He is boring and doesn't really teach much of anything. With him, the class has no momentum. He is a nice guy, laid back, easy, but I don't like the way he "teaches." Didn't learn anything.

He's a really nice guy. He makes sure you understand the assignments. You dont get alot of homework and the papers are given weeks in advance. Great class to take.

He's a good teacher, but you do write some long papers. (15 pages) He's pretty laid back and get's annoyed when you don't do the homework. You also focus on grammer in the beginning which is pretty boring. I'd take him again though because he is cool and let's you do you're own kind of style.

hes such a cool teacher..definately not a blow off class...lots of reading and responses..make sure you do the reading cause theres always a quiz...hes awesome, and really hot

I took his class online and I loved it. There were two assignments a week that we had to post responses to on a discussion board, and we wrote four 5 page papers overall. The whole class dealt with different aspects of pop culture, so it made the class interesting. You have to be very dedicated to take the online class, but I would recommend it!

Chris was an awesome professor, chose great films and books to read, you need to be able to participate. Watched movies a lot for the entire period, funny, laid back and really understanding. And hot.

I took Chris class over the summer. And I loved it! This is not a blow off class, and you do have to go on the discussion boards to post a lot, but overall, I truly enjoyed his class. I will be taking his HUM class this summer! I wouldn't say this is an *easy* A but a WELL earned A!!!!

Awesome teacher,laid back lets you do your own thing, the 3 independent papers were easy and i am by far, not a writer. There is a 15 page paper but it is with 2 other people. Come on people this is college you have to work to get good grades!He gives you what is due! Highly recommended.

Usually I don't like English because I'm not good at it, but with Chris I've actually enjoyed the class and put more effort into it.

for the person who previously said "he will makes u to write 15 pages eassy in end of the semester" that is a REQUIREMENT for english101. all the english teachers HAVE to do that. if you need help let him know and he will do all he can for you. you just need to try and you will def. pass the class

Great Teacher, Very clear on what he wants you to do. Participate in class and he will like you. Papers were easy and wasn't too hard of a grader. Very laid back and funny as long as the class participates!

great teacher. show up to class, read the essays, and participate you will get a good grade. 4 essays to write in total. last essay counts as your final. 15 page paper but you get to work on it with 2 other people. easy class

A very opinionated, but easy teacher. Mr. Padgett teaches well (better if the class is involved) but would be better if he would get off his soap box. I liked him as a teacher and agreed with what he had to say, but I can see why someone would dislike him.

he was a great teacher! did seem to put down certain people but they were kind of asking for it. final paper was 12 pages but you worked on it with 2 other ppl. pretty easy class overall take it!

amazing teacher. i would recommend taking one of his classes. they are a bit on the hard side, but he challenges you to actually use your brain. He really knows what he is teaching and knows how to get on your level.

GREAT PROFESSOR, he has his doctorate and is very knowledgeable. If you put in the time an effort you will be rewarded, grades a bit tough but fair. Excellent course, opened my mind to different ideas. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

I took him for eng 101 and now taking 102. i got a easy A in 101 i will say you need to be a good writer don't slack off and not care, get your paper proof read. I got 100% on some of my papers. His 101 class I took was based on contemporary culture and society issues,which is what i am very interested in. It was very easy, and researches were very helpful.If you are not serious about the homework, you can forget about good grade. He is funny, but dont take his cource as a joke.

Great Teacher! He really goes into detail about what you read and puts a whole new prospective on it. Somewhat harsh paper grader, and takes a while to get them back to you, but overall I'm happy i took him.

He is a nice professor, but he assigns reading for every class so be prepared to be reading short stories or poems every class. He doesn't really test you to see if you read them, but if you didn't the exam will get you!

It was not a happy experience for me to say the least. I mean, it was okay, but the way he grades papers is a bit to harsh. Aaaaand I don't understand why it looks like his chili pepper looks like it is on fire.... hebad.

Provides interesting material. Much better class than I thought 102 was going to be. He's reeeeeally hot too. It's a shame I felt like he HATED me, even though I loved the class. He also kind of seems like he doesn't want to be there. I mean, I get it, it's Harper, but, come on.

He's a cool dude. He looks a lot younger than he really is. He's funny and nice and really sarcastic. Really slow grader and read everything he gives you because the midterm has it all on there.

Basically what you want in a teacher. His class is about popular culture and if you're straight out of high school you'll easily connect with this class. He helps you with your paper before you turn it in (content wise, not editing wise) and as long as your paper doesn't suck you'll likely get a B or A

I took his course online & I really enjoyed it. The book is interesting, and the papers were fun to write. His assignments & deadlines are clear, and he gives really good feedback on your work. He's an awesome teacher, take his class and you will not regret it!

He is a great professor, he really knows what he is teaching. It is English 102, so obviously there are going to be papers to write. So, don't sign up for the class if you don't want to write papers. He is nice, wants his students to do well and he makes class interresting. Someone said he's not good looking, well he is and he's funny!

There are no pop quiz or anything. There are 3 papers and a mid term. Mid term is pretty much easy stuff. he gives you a sheet to study which is basically the test itself. Study that and you would get an A. He curves the MT too. Slow at grading the papers and abit harsh on grades, but if you consult him and did couple of peer edits. you'd be ok

Good pretty easy English class. There is short story readings every class for homework and we discussed them in class. Grade is based on a couple short papers, midterm, and research paper theres no final.

Really smart guy, yes he edits the papers thoroughly but isn't it an English course? He seemed to get papers back in appropriate time frame with my class. Learned a lot nice guy.

Chris is an amazing teacher! I am currently in his Eng 101. He is by far the most laid back teacher i have this semester. He is helpful & will work with you to get you the grade you want. He is funny and keeps class interesting. We only have class twice a week but he always lets us out early and only took attendance the first 2 weeks TAKE HIS CLASS

I have nothing but good things to say about Padgett. The class was amazing all we did was read poetry and analyze it. He's a very interesting person and really makes you look at life in a new and open perspective. Definitely take him, easiest A of my life.

Great teacher for ENG 101. Easy A. He does grade the papers a bit tough but you can still pass with a B. He's pretty chill and funny. Totally recommend him.

He's a pretty chill teacher. I had him for 101 so I knew him already. You read a lot of stories from the book. I got by reading only a few. There is a midterm for this class but isn't difficult. Grades papers ok. Easy A/B.

Chris is fair, smart, helpful and has a great attitude. take him. you won't regret it. 4 papers and a midterm. All easy. you are the best Chris.

I just finished this class and it was kind of disappointing in how easy it was. Going to class seemed like a waste of time because no-one in the class talked .... it's a discussion based class! He's a super slow grader and I'm not even convinced he read our papers in the end anyway. 3 easy papers, a mid-term, and the final research paper.

I took English 101 & 102 with Padgett because he is the funniest most laid back teacher in the world. Very easy grader but if he doesn't really know you, you won't get the best grade so make sure to participate. Doesn't get mad if you don't do the homework. He's one of those teachers I'll always remember when i graduate.

Great professor. You do have a read quite a bit, but he makes you laugh a lot along the way with everything you read. Nothing you read is really "boring" so it isn't even a problem. Expect 3 papers and 1 test. ( 2 -2 page papers) (1 mid term vocab exam) (1 10-page paper)

I wanted to rate "helpfulness" as a 3 because as an online course, he was not engaged in discussion boards. But from our on-campus orientation, he seemed like a very approachable (very likeable) professor that would be open and willing to discuss any questions. I only rated him a 3 on easiness because rating him a 4 would suggest it was an easy A.

Chris is a great professor. He's knowledgeable, fun, and approachable. He's super laid back, but don't expect to just show up and pass. Be prepared to read; there's not *too* much, but it's important that you do the little bit he does assign. He's a very fair, almost perhaps charitable, grader, and if you ask for help he's got your back. 10/10 A+

He is a very understanding teacher that is willing to help any of students. The down side of the teacher though is due to very few assignments grades a heavily weighed and don't expect your papers back for at 2 weeks or longer

Chris was chill. i didn't read most of the time and he didn't care. kind of a tough grader. final isn't that hard as long as you read. I bs some parts on the test and still did good. Some is just logic. first part of the exam, you have to recognize quote and remember the story and author. pay close attention quotes he talks about in class

be prepared to read ALOT. don't skip the readings because there will be quotes on the midterm. easy going teacher with only one test the whole semester. there isn't many papers and he is a pretty easy grader.

Padgett's class was really enjoyable! Participation is part of the grade, but he makes the discussions easy to jump into. He himself is pretty funny and treats his students like people. He does take a bit to grade and hand things back, though.

For English 102 he had us do 3 essays. The first two were 2 pages MAXIMUM. Then the third was a 10 page research paper. Those are the only 3 grades for the semester but he is a pretty easy going grader. He is very sarcastic in his humor and tries to make the class interesting/enjoyable which works.

Very good professor, grades a tad rough but makes it up through an enjoyable class. He is also extremely comical and is very good at critiquing your work.

If you read the stories and poems you'll be golden for class participation. 3 Essays and 1 being your final research paper. NO FINAL! Quality matters in your writing and essays. You must show up to class to pass but he made class fun to get involved. Never a dull moment the whole semester. BEST professor I've taken at Harper so far.

Mr. Padgett is probably the best English professor I've ever had. He's so funny and easy going, definitely should be a top choice for any English class takers.

I had Mr. Padgett for ENG101 also and both semesters I had him he was one of my favorite professors. He's hilarious and so easy going. He takes quite a while to grade your papers but explains clearly what he wants in each of them. Highly recommend to take for English 101 and 102!

He uses humor to lighten the mood, yet takes the course and lectures seriously. He's earnest and genuinely cares about what he teaches. His style works best when most of the class are engaged and a part of the discussion. However, to do well in his class, one should prepare to read, study and write.

Chris was by far the best teacher I've had at Harper. He kept me interested and engaged during a three hour class on a Monday night. He's also the funniest teacher I've ever had.

Professor padgett was one of my favorite professors at harper. Every class had such a interesting concept, I enjoyed every lecture we had. The papers have multiple prompts to go off which is helpful so you can choose which paper you think you could write best. Show up to class, discussion is a part of your grade but the discussions are laid back.

Me and Padgett had different opinions on a lot of topics, but his grading was very unbiased. You can tell he cares about making you a better writer. Also, he is a really funny guy One of the greatest teacher/prof. I have ever had.

Chris is a great professor, I had him for english 101 and because of how great that class was I made sure to take him again for english 102. He makes any lecture super interesting and is very knowledgable on the topics he teaches. He is very laid back and understanding. Listen in class, do the assignments and you'll do great. 10/10 recommend him.

one of the easiest english classes I've ever taken. Gives u a certain text every week that u have to analyze, post a discussion about & reply to someone else on the discussion board. The essays weren't difficult either and they weren't research based so it makes it extremely easy on you! If ur looking for an easy A then just do the work & ur good

I took him for ENG102 online for an 8 week class and it was super manageable alongside 3 other classes. There's only about 3 essays including the final essay which was great and they allowed lots of flexibility. Class consists of discussions and readings only. I had to take this class in order to transfer my last gen eds back to my university. Prof. Padgett is a really great professor. Just do what you have to on time and your grade will represent your effort. Participation is important with him. Chooses good texts to study. His feedback may be on the shorter side.

You have 3 essays the enitre year. Then 2 discussions a week. Very do-able very easy to manage. He gives great feedback and loves discussing with his students. He's a chill dude. If you have the option then take him.

Every English 102 class is the same in terms of syllabus pretty much. So the workload is the same wherever you go. I took him for my English 101 class and again for 102. It is what it is. If you write a quality paper then you'll get a quality grade. You do weekly discussion boards and that's that.
