Easy and friendly teacher. i recomend this teacher.
Professor Perez is fairly new at teaching, still on probation i believe. He sometimes thinks that since he knows the material, you should get it too. He is not the worst, but not the best either. He is nice, and very nice to look at:)
Friendly and good teacher. I don't say its' easy class but he is new and he try his best to explain as much as possible. u can ask question and he give it good respond. i recomend this teacher.
He is friendly. He is new and he try to improve him self. class is hard but he explain good ways. if u study sample exam and do home work and u will be good.
Great Teacher!
He's a new teacher. Very young. Probably one of the nicest teachers on campus. He's good, just not "the best" i feel that he sometimes has trouble explaining things in a way thats easy to understand. But he's always willing to help anyone out who needs it, and he's a pretty easy grader.
I failed this class the first time around, but then i took it again with him and I aced the class. He explains thing well, but sometimes he makes some mistakes. He gives sample exams which really really help. I wish he taught 180. I recommend him over anyone else.
he takes his time and doesnt go too fast. he does everything step by step.
He is a great math professor! He is calm and is really patient with student's questions. Take his class you will not regret it!
good teacher. if he taught 180 i'd take him again. he's very nice, understanding, and has a good sense of humor. not the easiest class..but he explains things pretty well. accumulative final-40% of grade. tests 40 or 50% dont really remeber. quizzes are take home. and he gives practice tests (REALLY HELPFUL)
Mr. Perez is the best math teacher that I have ever had. He is really clear and he gives good notes. He has take home quizzes and has sample exams that are a lot like the exams. He takes many homework problems and puts them on the exams. Homework was due every Wednesday. I recommend him!!!
He was a pretty good teacher. He provides theories then examples of how they are used which is great, but he does make mistakes so you have to be on ur toes to watch for them. (just math errors not content errors)
I hate math, but I walked into Prof. Perez's class, and you could tell he really loved his subject and wanted to help. He is extremely clear, and if anyone stops to ask a question, he makes sure he doesn't move on until the question is answered. Great professor! Took him for 71A and passed with an A without having to try terribly hard. Take him!!!!
He is grete techer. Clear and well organized. Easy way to teach and really helpfull to everyone. Recomend..:)
He doesnt know wat he is talking about... he confuses himself. haha!
BEST MATH PROFESSOR EVER!!! He knows what he is talking about and makes sure that his lessons are well taught and no one is confused. His tests are not hard at all...and he's always there to help you out when you need it. I would 100% recommend him. Hopefully he teaches higher math courses next semester! Math 160 will never be more clearer!!
He is the best teacher ever!!!! He is soo funny and makes the class fun but you learn as well. He has really good teaching methods and you dont need a text book because he does it online. Has extra credit to help you improve your grade. Wish he taught all the math levels!!!!
He doesnt know what he is talking about... Not any teach can teach trig its a hard subject.. and he should not be teaching trig at all!!! He is so confused!
Chris is a good math teacher. He is very understandable. He is willing to help his students succeed in math. I always ask questions in class. His hwk are online and don't need the book. Highly recommended!!!
As long as you do his practice exams, and you do good on it, you will get an A in his class because his exams and final are the exact same thing! I don't understand how people were failing their exams! Do you guys not take advantage of the practice exams? I don't think he should deserve a low rating I mean he is giving you the tools to succeed!
Totally awesome professor, if you're lucky enough to get into his class. Homework's all online, and there's a way to get help all through the homework. Textbook helpful, but not required. Teaches in a way that's totally understandable, really easygoing. Homework not worth much, but helpful for once-a-week quizzes and tests.
Excellent Professor, very helpful, and excellent and breaking everything down so it is easy to understand. I highly recommend. I will be trying to take him for each Math course I must take.
This guy is hella GOOOOOOD!! even though trig isnt his subject he can teach pretty well! I recommend him and most of the girls think he is hot! soo oo la la!!
Professor Perez is a really awesome teacher! He is crystal clear on his lectures. If you don't understand, He will help you. Textbook is not needed. All hwk is online and the practice test is similar to the real exam. Got an A in his class. Take him!
MR PERES ITS A EXTREMELY GOOD PROFFESOR...HES VERY CLEAR AND IF U DONT GET SOMETHING HE'LL GO OVER IT TILL U GET IT...HES PRETTY EASY KNOWS HOW TO EXPLAIN...AND ALSO HES A VERY HANDSOME...LOL
This teacher is really good looking so it makes the lectures even more interesting!! He is very young spirited and really helpful! take him! go to class and do the hw! and you will PASS!!
He is a great teacher, gives a lot of notes and definitions. Make sure to do the study guides for the quizzes and exams, really helpful. Most of them come from the hw he gives. Pay attention in class and an A in the class could be easily attained.
Not very easy at all if you struggle in math, kinda goes thru the course fast not really caring if students understand or not I reccomend someone else.
This teacher is amazing... by far the best teacher at Mt SAC. He really cared about helping his students and was very clear about everything. I loved his organization and teaching style. It also helps that he's easy on the eyes. I highly recommend this teacher!!! He's such a sweetheart.
Very Organized, always opened for questions, cares if students r learning in class. Love the way he organizes his notes and his lecture. Very nice and easy to talk to if one has questions or conserns. Like any class, Study makes perfact.
Is clear on what is expected and is willing to help with any math problems you have. I definitely thought this class was easy just because of the clarity of the way he teaches the class. I would recommend his class if you need to really comprehend this subject.
Great professor! He gives you practice exams(even finals!!) which is exactly like the real exams. Easy A
I've always struggled in math, but Mr. Perez is a dream. Gives quizes and worksheets that are helpful practice for the exams. Gives lots of credit if you show your work. Even with the wrong answers I got A's on all my tests! He's super friendly and handsome! Just attend class and do the homework (he drops your lowest 2) and it's an easy A.
Great math professor and he is very helpful and cares for his students. i bombed all my quizzes and did so and so in my tests. i couldnt believe i got a b in his class. i suck at math, but he assigned my mathlab and gave us a lot of extra credit and practice tests that r so similar to actual test. attend class and do your homework, you'll do fine!
super nice teacher, he is very patient with his students and loved how if anybody asked a question he never made them feel dumb. If you do the hwk and attend class you'll do great on the quizes and exams. Math is very hard for me and he made it a great experience for me!!!!!!
Pros include giving a study guide before each test which you can turn in for a few points of extra credit, only giving stuff that he covered in class on test, test aren't too complex and he's very nice and friendly. Cons- gives A LOT of homework and grades it, and he can't do simple math in his head too well. Take him if you want to learn and pass.
This guy is easy & super hot!!!! Take him!!!
Totally HOT...and easy!!
his class is really easy and he gives quizzes from the lessons he had taught. He grade the test and quiz super easy. He would slow down the teaching paste if there are people who doesn't understand the lesson. Also for the test he asks most of the questions from the hw problems.
He is a good professor. It all depends on you to study.
Great professor! Gives study guides before tests and quizzes which help a lot! Study and you will do well!!!
I really enjoyed him. He's very helpful and goes off the syllabus. I hate the subject and his teaching methods allowed me to do great in the class.
Professor Perez was very helpful he actually made me love math, he explains in detail and gives study guide.
what he puts on the board is on the quizs...whats on the quizs is on the exam ....whats on the exam is on the final ...i took prof perez for both 51 and 71a ...and got A's in both
easy A!
Great Professor, he teaches well, he always make sure everyone understand his class, and he always gives Study guides.
Whoa was he amazing. I understood everything he taught. The first time I took math 130 I got a D, with him I got an A, and because he was super easy but because he explained everything so well. He is always willing to answer any questions. The fact that he was pretty good looking doesn't hurt either :)
This guy is the man. He is nice, helpful, knowledgeable, and actually wants u to succeed. His tests are pretty similar to the study guide but a lil tougher. He gives u an overall 3% extra credit opportunity. Not too much hw.2 tests and the final. Replaces lowest test w/ ur final grade if higher. Drops lowest quiz score. TAKE HIM.
He's the best math teacher. He gave you study guide for exams and turn in as extra credit. Also, he gave you study guide for quizzes but doesn't collect it. The exams and quizzes are a little bit harder than the study guide. Just complete the study guide, you will be alright. He's also teaching math 160, 150 and 180!! Awesome Professor...
This guy is the best math teacher ever. I once forgot to turn in an assignment ( I did it but forgot to bring it to class) and he let me turn it in. He is really smart, and brings the best out of you as a student. I am not good at math but now I see potential now in the future because he makes you really like math in general. Super cool guy.
Very Very Helpful and easy going professor i ever had. You can easily get A if you do his assigned Homework and study Guide on time. He is willing to answer any question. He is funny too. Never disappoint student for any reason. GOD! He is THE PROFESSOR.
He is a good professor because he loves to teach and is a total math nerd. but his tests are very difficult especially the final. do ALL the homework. I dont like the way he puts all the points together in the end because it doesnt make sense and i didnt get the grade i deserved. but otherwise good prof.
He is a really great professor you just need to study for your exams. He gives out study guides that are much like the actual exams and gives you extra credit for doing them too!
I have always struggled in math and usually had to drop out of the courses. I took Mr. Perez and I actually love math now. Great guy. If you don't understand he will explain it in an easier way. He's a total math nerd and very hot!He gives really good notes and practice exams. Take him!!
I took professor Perez during winter. He is a great professor. Extremely clear and concise in his teaching. The class was very day paced and required alot of work but I totally recommend that you take.this prof. There are alot of opportunities for points and extra credit so getting a high grade its very doable.
Although I found Perez to be mildly intimidating. He makes a solid professor!! His grading policy, homework assignments, and test are very FAIR. His extra-credit study guides are fantastic. Please note that 160s material is still difficult. So study!(warning: he wears a polo everyday). Got an A! Have fun!
Great professor. very clear and helpful. Plenty of opportunity to get a high grade with the extra credit that is offered. This class is a lot of work. It basically combines and summarizes every math you've ever taken or seen. Do the hw, the study guide, and youre solid. I took this prof for 150 and would keet taking him for 180 and 181 if offered.
Great teacher, and truly wants you to succeed, really nice! Quizzes and tests are crucial though, but doing every homework assignment will help you in the end. Overall, great class.
One of the best math professors, he gives u a chance for extra credit for each exam, u can drop ur lowest quiz, and replace ur lowest exam grade if u average 80% on homework. Quizzes are weekly. highly recommend him as he explains in good detail.
My favorite math Professor. I took him for Trig, Pre-calc, and Calculus. He's and awesome person and really has his student's interests at heart. He grades very fair and if you do and understand the study guides (1% extra credit each), you will most likely ace the exams. He's just a really cool person who loves teaching.
TAKE SOME ONE ELSE
Nice enough Professor, if you understand Math, he's ok... If you struggle, your chances of success are 50/50. He goes way too fast and if you don't have a good understanding of math you get lost and discouraged really easy...
Probably the best professor I have encountered at Mt. SAC so far. I took his Math 160 during spring. Lectures are extraordinarily clear, homework policy is amazing, assigned homework actually pertains to exam material, and each study guide completed is 0.75% added to final grade. Received an A, easy
He's AWESOME! Yes he does go a little fast but if you ask him he'll slow down & explain. He keeps Math interesting & is really helpful. Do your hw It's important!! Also follow the hw he puts on moodlerooms, it's the correct one. He offers extra credit from the study guides as well. If you do your hw, & do the study guides you'll be fine :)
Best math professor I've taken at MtSAC by far! His lectures or organized, with good definitions and examples. There are quizes every thursday (unless it lands on an exam day) and they are easy! Exams are not easy but challenging enough that it is fair. If you put effort into his class I'm sure you can pass. He even has a good personality!
Extremely easy class! He teaches with extreme clarity and will help you out.Highly recommend him!
One of the best math professors I've taken. Really easy, very helpful & to top it off super GORGEOUS! Took him during a short semester, I was worried he was going to rush through things but he didn't. Hw wasn't required to be turned in but to pass his class its recommended to be done. Most people in my class passed with As & Bs.
He is an as wine professor! Very early and super clear. He is very patient with students. He also gives one on one tutoring if you go to his office hours. One of the nicest professors at Mt. SAC. Chris is perfect, cute, hot, and very intelligent. Perfect package.
One of the best math teachers at Mt. Sac!!! Im horrible at math. but he made it easy for me to understand.
By far best math professor i've had! extremely helpfuland great notes. highly recommend him.
Chris is a great professor but there are a few things you should know before taking him. He isn't for everyone. In order for you to pass his class you must do the homework, he doesn't collect it but it is recommended that you do it for there are quizzes every Thurs. He is fast paced so if you like to take your time then I wouldn't recommend him.
The best math professor I have ever had my entire time at Mt.Sac. Extremely helpful, great notes, and makes the class easy. Coming from someone who struggled with math their whole life, pass his class with a B. Overall awesome professor.
He is a great professor :) I took him during winter and let me tell you that he really helps and loves the subject he is teaching. Aside from that he has a great personality that makes you want to attend class and learn! Very helpful and easy class.
Besides the fact that he's a very great mathematics professor, he understands that most students aren't math majors and doesn't get too crazy with his exams and quizzes. He is EXTREMELY fair in his grading. trust me lol. He's simply one of the best in the department along with prof. Loyd. Please give the man a raise, he deserves it! The BEST!
If you're trying to pad math smoothly he's great, he's attractive and not to difficult to learn from. But if you're actually trying to better yourself at math he usually prefers to teach the most confusing unnecesary and drawn out methods. Very annoying. He also makes a lot of math mistakes and is often corrected by students.
Good professor. He explains very well and is willing to help anyone. Homework is not mandatory.... 4 exams total and 2-3 question quizzes every week. Not hard as long as you study and show up for his lectures. I would definitely recommend this professor and look forward to take him for trig.
Perez is one hell of a professor. This is the second time I take him, the first was for Math 51, this time I took him for 130 and once again he did an excellent job. Looking forward to taking him for Trig in the summer.
With all due respect, professor Perez is a horrible teacher. I asked him a question once and he told me i can't explain to you i do not have time right now. His tests are really tough, and he is the hardest grader you can ever see. The average for his last test was 50%, and he does not curve, and he is not willing to help. DONT TAKE. HORRIBLE
Prof. Perez is an awesome instructor. He is very clear about what to expect throughout the semester and even offers study guides to help students prepare for an upcoming exam. Homework isn't collected, but you'd be a fool not to do it if you want a good grade. He is fair with his grading and teaches at a fair pace while keeping the students engaged
Don't take this professor, he constantly makes mistakes while working out a problem, his quizzes are moderately difficult, while his tests are insane. You have to do every single problem, even problems that he doesn't assign, if you want a good grade. This class is not straightforward when he teaches it.
His lectures were pretty clear. He seemed slightly annoyed if a student didn't understand something. His tests were pretty hard. He checks every single step to see how you get your answer. Marks a whole problen wrong if you only write the answer. Doesn't check hw (for your practice only) If you're a slacker I don't recommend him.
I took him after I failed another professor's class. The subject itself is hard. Professor Perez tried his best to make it easier. Quizzes are easy as long as you know how to do the problems on the handout. For the test, study hard. You will get the grade you deserve.
This professor teaches really well;however, his tests are so much harder. He expects you to learn and challenge yourself to become better at math. He makes the material seem really easy but his tests are a lot harder and much more complicated. He gives extra credit to students but he tries his best.
Amazing teacher. Wish he taught 181. Honestly, never did the homework and just re read the notes and studied the study guide hardcore and got an A. This teacher helped me understand calculus and I definitely feel prepared for 181.
You do not need a note book, he gives notes for every chapter and you solve the problems with him. one of the best math teaches. math is never easy, but this guy is clear. i put 3 on easiness because it college algebr and you have to put in work. no hw. but do a few problems every chapter so you can pass. study everyday every chapter, you will pass
One of the best, will only get better.
He's a good professor, very clear and makes you understand everything. He doesn't give much homework like most professors. Took this in the summer that's a 6 week course. My past professors would give LOADS of homework. But he doesn't. I really do feel like it helps more when you have more homework. I wouldn't take him again though cuz I hate math.
He's a nice guy and all but he's really hard. This was the hardest class I ever took.
Professor Perez does not go easy. He tries his best for the material to be broken down as much as possible. Visiting him on his office hours is very helpful.
Hate math, but this professor explains his lectures clear & makes it understandable + gives u extra credit to help boost your grade. Do the hw & study 100% guarantee you'll pass.
He's a wonderful professor!! thoroughly explains each lesson, offers help outside of class and doesn't give too much hw! tests are graded a little harsh. he is very easy to get along with and doesn't make you feel stupid when you don't understand something. I would highly recommend for anyone who has a real tough time trying to understand math.
Def take him! He explains everything clearly, does not give much hw (for a winter class) super easy quizzes, for tests he gives study guides and those count for extra credit! He works with you to make sure you understand. He cares about his students. Gives handouts so you only need the book for the hw, but you could use the one at tutoring TMARC.
Professor Perez was absolutely fabulous! He gives everyone a packet at the beginning of each lesson with all of the problems we learn in class(plus empty space, so we can copy his work while he teaches). He explains the material very well and welcomes questions. He also gives extra credit opportunities. Overall, a great professor!
Hes nice and teaches clearly, its not easy to get an A, but if you work hard you will learn and your grade should be fine.
Took a pervious math 51 class and failed. Took his class and understood every section. The professor teaches all the material very clearly and goes at a great pace. Gives a good amount of homework and doesnt over work you about 25 problems each section. All homework is due on each exam day. Gives 3 tests and quizzes daily, not hard just study!
Not the best math professor for trig. His quizzes were easy, but his tests were hard. He even says his tests are hard and only half of the class passed one of the exams. He's not very helpful and often had typos on his study guide answers which were not helpful
For my first semester at mt sac i decided to take this professor thinking he was going to be mean but he's one of the great professor's I've had. Really straight forward and clear grading criteria. As long you study well and take your time learning the materials you'll be fine.
He gives in class notes. His lectures are long and he really goes into detail to teach the concepts to students, not just the technique and formulas. His tests are usually much harder than the daily quizes so beware. Overall good teacher but lectures are kinda long sometimes. DO STUDY GUIDES THAT HE GIVES before tests to do well in his class!!!
Prof. Perez is very kind & genuinely wants the best for his students. He is organized & his packet of notes has everything you need to be successful. There are quizzes every class but they are helpful. Basically, your performance on the quizzes mirror how you will do on the tests. If you do the study guides you will be prepared for the exams.
Professor Perez is a horrible professor students ask for help and he goes on to explain but finishes the question half done and says you know what to do from there. Cmon a student asks help cause he doesnt know what to do not for you to half do it and expect them to finish
He's one of those types of people where you either really like them or really hate them. And for me its the latter, Professor Perez while he does teach at a good pace lacks the proper skills needed to be a teacher. He will ask for your insight on a problem and then not care for the answer you give him.
His lectures aren't very clear or detailed, more like he just shows you how to do it everything without the verbal instruction behind it. Quiz's were easy and graded easy but if you're someone who learns by verbal and visual instruction, i suggest not taking him.
This professor might be good for lower math courses but for MATH180, they are better options than this guy. He just goes over problems without asking questions or engaging with the class. Also when a student asks a question, he gets the problem set up so the student can solve it for themselves. (Which no one understands.) He isnt clear in class.
He is so helpful and really cares about if you understand the material. He is extremely patient. His homework assignments are set up in a beneficial way and all the test and quiz questions are from the homework. Definitely recommend him as a professor for every class you can take him for.
Best professor ever
Spring 2019. Quiz every time you go to class. Each exam has more percentage weight than the previous. Go to class and do homework. Lecture teaches you basics, homework teaches more in depth, Exams are combination of both. MEMORIZE IDENTITIES!!!
HORRIBLE is the only way to describe this guy.
His lecture is awesome and interesting
He has a really good personality, but it is just really all just lectures. Boring class, homework, really repetitive.
I took his MATH 130 class back in 2011 and I always wanted to come back here and write a review for him. Wow, what a fantastic leader and a perfect representative of what a good work ethic and effort will do coming from the perspective of the teacher. He is always always available to help after class, too. If math isn't easy for you, take him!
Makes a lot of little mistakes during lecture. If left unchanged students study incorrect information. Doesnt respond to emails. Isnt a bad professor but isnt the best. 3 exams and a final. Exam 3 is the hardest in my opinion.
He is happy to anwers your question and solve any problem that you have difficulty with. However, he has trust issue. I'm taking his online class rn. I feel so stressful. Hopefully, I wont get a bad grade :(
I took his class in spring 2020. He is the best teacher I have ever met. He loves his work and always gives his students a lot of help. If you follow his lectures and steps, it is easy to get A. I hope I can take his class again when I have the opportunity.
Professor Perez is a nice guy that sadly isn't flexible and understanding with his students. Has boring and dull lectures that have plenty of mistakes. Gives quizzes that are nothing like his lectures and homework. Does not offer any extra credit and does not curve grades. Math 180 is already a challenging class, he makes it harder than it needs to
Took weekly quizzes, 3 exams, midterm and final. Assigned lecture videos to watch which contain some mistakes; if you don't catch them, seeing him in office hours to ask about those topics that weren't clear helps. Not too much homework or classwork. Easy A if you work hard for it.
Professor Perez DOES NOT respond to emails and the only way to reach him during online classes is during his office hours. Notes are all on YouTube, no live classes, if you need help you can go during office hours.
While Professor Perez can be a bit boring in his presentation of the material, he does explain everything in a clear and easy to understand manner. If you need help, the best time to access him is during office hours. He can be a bit slow to respond to messages but usually responds within 24 hours. Overall, if you pay attention, you will pass.
Took him for Math 150 and loved it ! Quiz before each class, which honestly forces you to review the sections you learned through out the week. HW was all done on Pearson. Tests were similar to quizzes and a bit easier than HW. Hes very generous with his grading ! I messed up on a question, but he still gave me points. 3 exams and 1 final
the quizzes whenever there is class are rough but the is approachable and helpful I do recccamed him
Took his math 150 and Math 15. I think its kind of hard to teach something like trigonometry in as simple way as he puts it. He's clear, understanding, and so long as he sees you're understanding the section and submit whatever you have, you'll get some credit.
Barely responds to his email or his messages on Canvas. Emailed him a few times regarding my grade and assignments that were assigned on Canvas and never responded to me. Classes are heavily weighted on you exam scores, you can get a 100% on all homework assignments, and if you do bad in on one exam, your grade is screwed.
3 exams for grades and if you screw up for one of them, your grade just blows, The professor is nice but his lecture is Boring. He has a practice exam before the exam but the Final exam is so hard. right now, I'm writing this before the final day and the practice exam for the fin is totally different thing, he makes every question so complicated.
As with any math class, if you skip class YOU WILL NOT PASS. He explains the math in a clear and straightforward way. To do good on the exams, you have to practice the problems a lot, as with any math class. EASIEST math professor I've ever had.
He explains math really well but the majority of your grade is based on three midterms and a final. If you screw one of them up your grade will take a hit.
Easy with light grading, easy on everything range from homework to quizzes to exam and easy final as a bonus!
Great Professor. Clear Lectures.
The lectures are clear and the homework is relatively easy. There are quizzes every week but only three tests and a final. The test and final account for a major part of the overall grade. But it is manageable as long as you do the assignments.
Tests are hard, quizzes are not that bad, DON'T MISS A CLASS or you will be confused but he is willing to help out.
Professor Perez, I Highly 100% Recommend!! The class is very well organized, he provides assignments that relates to quizzes and exams. For more hands on practice. When issues occurred, he will offer guidance while demonstrate he is a caring and fair professor even when student might be having a difficult time, he's lecture is direct and fun!
It is always better to take precautions and avoid problems rather than dealing with them after they arise.
Like Perez's class very much! He is kind to help you deal with everything! His quizzes are easy because they just have 2 or 3 questions per quiz. Take him and study carefully, you will get at least B grade!
He is very friendly to help you figure out problems and everything even for tutor recommendation lol. For me, it is easy to get but some students really think his teaching speed is so fast. His exam and final are basic as long as you finish the hw and study guide well. Enjoy his class!
He is a nice guy. Always smiling, respectful, and will try his best to answer questions. Not sure why everyone in the reviews says he goes too fast. Tbh, I thought his pace was a little slow at times. Quizzes are based only on homework, so make sure to do them. The exams are a lot harder than the quizzes so make sure you study each topic well.
solid professor, lectures can get a bit simple as they are taken from the textbook, but the packets he provides helps you study. gives quizzes that are very similar to exams that aren't worth much so it gives you room to prepare for exams which are worth a lot.
Nice guy but the class was just too hard for me. I felt like it was nothing like the AP calc class I took in high school. If you know pre calc well you will be fine but beware of the exams.
Professor is very patient with explaining when asked. Tons of extra credit opportunities (in exam & additional from 18A). Exams (finals + midterms) make up 75% of the grade but were of reasonable difficulty, if you were able to do the homework, then you should be fine on the exams. Taking 18A with the course is useful, but not needed if confident.
An awesome professor. He was super kind on the final. Quizzes are directly taken from the homework, exams are worth a lot but they are very reflective of the practice exams. You can tell he likes teaching.
Grade is based off a few tests that are similar to homework. Quizzes will be daily but little points and based off homework. Some concepts were explained weirdly and unclear during lectures. Best thing is he is predicatable and organized. He never gives surprise tests or quizzes and they always match the problems he gives in homework.
Very quick with explanations, doesn't take time to ensure everyone understands goes quickly to ensure his lectures are completed. Does have student hours but if you work right after class it's going to be hard to get help. Grades are based off exams. Hardest math course I've taken.
I took him for math 100 and he is a great teacher. Note packets are provided for each lesson which help with exams and quizzes. He explains the material well and always open for questions. Only thing is that he has a quiz every week but they're a small percentage of your grade and you have to pay to access HW online. Overall, easy class, not tedious.
I had to drop the class because I screwed up but I could've done better. Perez is a great professor though, teaches well, he gives packets for each lecture that really help with the homework. Couple homework assignments a week that help with the weekly quizzes so do them. Exams are REALLY HARD so prepare well for them. Study and practice ALOT.
His exams were very difficult. Like you need to know every step memorized, equations, and your TRIGGGG!! Although his lectures were not as boring, he still made learning about calculus fun. There are quizzes almost every week, and they can be studied for by doing the HW. Don't take if you have any other stem courses (Ex: Bio 2, Chem 50+). GOODLUCK!
Professor Perez is super helpful and friendly. The exams are challenging but doable if you keep up with the homework and use resources like Unstuck study to prep. Definitely worth taking this class.
Really nice and a great professor! He wants you to pass and gives out extra credit too. Just make sure you study for the exams. They are extremely important for your grade. Unfortunately, I messed up and failed this class, but it was my fault. If you took AP Calculus in HS, just know this class isn't similar to it at all.
As long as you put in the time and effort, you'll do good. Professor Chris is really nice and genuinely wants you to succeed. He uses MyLab for HW and exam prep which ended up being super helpful. Whenever I didn't understand something, I relied on it. Make sure you participate and ask questions in class too. Also utilize office hours or the MARC.
Professor Perez is super helpful and friendly. Quizzes are easy. Exams are challenging but fine. He offers extra credit for every exam.
