In my class a few students from other professors classes attended our lectures and sat on the floor because of the lack of seating.

I was one of the crazy people cramming this into the summer. Chris is very passionate about teaching and it's great to see that. Tries everything he can to help his students. The textbook is very helpful though as most of his problem sets require it. The subject is rather hard to conceptualize, but he does a great job breaking it down.

Chris Rachal is an amazing professor who genuinely cares for each of his students. Be to class on time, pay attention and do the problem sets (by youself) and you will learn a lot. Don't take the back seat in this class and let your classmates do the problem sets for you. The only way to learn is to pay attention and do the problem sets yourself.

Great class, learned a lot. The subject went from 0 to 100 quickly in terms of difficulty, but enough time was spent on foundational stuff. He wants everyone to pass, the help is there. Applies concepts to simplified real life examples, and midterm/final is open notes. About 8 hw assignments, 2 short papers, and lots of extra cred.

I am a business minor. I am a economics major it took 2 semesters to get in Chris class. it was a recommendation by a Econ prof. It was worth the wait. I have taken 2 prior stats classes. This was the first class that i was taught how to run and interpret statistical tests. it was a challenging and rewarding class. My favorite class so far.

I have nothing but good things to say about this man. He will do everything in his power to help you out and is an excellent teacher. I really struggle in math and he was very patient in helping me and explaining concepts and examples. He would always stay after class to help me with problems or things i did not understand. Honestly the best professor I have had. The material can be tough, but he is there for you to learn. He is willing to stay after class, meet before class, and meet during office hours in order to explain and answer questions. The class and topics discussed are relatively difficult, but he provides you with every opportunity to learn and get a good grade. He's honestly one of my favorite professors. Not only is his passion for the subject there, but he constantly emphasizes how important it is to learn stats and how much he's here to help you learn. I am not a fan of math however I really enjoyed his class, at his boot camp was the most learning I did in my life, Chris is one of the best professors I have had at UH. One of most greatest professor at Shidler, lecture are very easy to go forward, if you have question, just ask, lecture very interesting and easy to go forward, give you time in class to go over homework, lots of extra credit opportunity, but very strict on attendance, if you have 7 absence, you will suffer automatic failure, overall, he is great

The course is tough, all BUS310 courses have the same criteria. He actually takes the time to help you understand and complete assignments. He's super nice and goes out of his way for his students. Would take it again!

Do all the extra credit quizzes, turn in all of your PS's. His class is difficult but he is a great teacher and even holds this Statistic bootcamp at the end of the semester to help out his students (fits the whole semester into one day). Always resubmit your work as well. He is a great teacher and he is well respected. 1 Midterm, 1 Final.

Didn't pay attention most of the semester, thought I was gonna fail but ended up getting a solid A. Do the PS assignments on time, do the extra credit, and go to the bootcamp at the end of the semester. If I didn't go to the bootcamp I would have failed the final.

It is true what everyone here says. U can tell he genuinely cares for his students success. If I had to point out cons, hes the type of teacher to call on anyone at any given time so be prepared for that. Make sure ur always listening. He also wont fail to let you know he could be somewhere much higher up but instead chooses to teach, lol

Chris is an awesome teacher. If you're willing to learn, then he is willing to teach and help you in any way he can. If you miss 7 lectures you automatically fail so just go to class. He tries to make his lectures as inclusive as possible and will ask you questions as he lectures so try to pay attention. If you do the work and show up you'll pass.

Took his online BUS 310 course during Summer 2020 and always did his best in teaching us despite the struggles COVID-19 presented during this time. He was always engaging with the class (even if we weren't being super engaging ourselves) and explained things very clearly -- which, given the dense content of what he is teaching, is pretty amazing!

Chris is an outstanding professor who puts the needs of his students first. Despite the challenges COVID-19 has brought, he's made numerous efforts to ensure our learning experience runs smoothly. He does an excellent job addressing students' concerns and looking for more effective teaching methods to meet our needs.

Chris uses the end of class to answer questions, address concerns, and encourage us to pursue an education beyond just the course. He is an inspired professor who demonstrates great concern for his students. Btw, his "tangents" are stories used to expand upon the subject matter and provide a greater understanding of its application. Just sayin'! :)

Chris definitely cares about his students and wants us understand the content. He uses really good examples and brought speakers to show how this material will be used outside class. Only downside is he makes you have your camera on (will call you out), his video is kinda blurry, and he is a little unorganized. There's lots of extra credit!

If you fail this class its on you not him. The exams aren't easy, just don't absolutely bomb them and you'll pass. The quizzes are extra credit (do them) and there is hw (in groups) every 2 weeks. Try have at least 6 members in your group because the hw can be time consuming. If you do good on the hw and quizzes you'll pass. Goes thru hw in class.

Learned alot. My favorite class at Shidler. I wish the class was in the class room not online. I learn better in person. I am not a fan of zoom so the one thing i would change is zoom.

Summer Session 1 at UHM and we had zoom 4 times a week. Ask questions if you dont understand. Be ready to receive alot of information at once during the summer session. Alot of extra credit oppurunites, take it, it will help.

Prof Chris rambles a little and has some out of the way examples. There is a lot of extra credit offered during the course, take advantage of it.

Chris is a nice dude. He goes out of his way to make sure every student's needs are met. Ask away if you have any questions. His stories can sometimes be a little outside of what we're learning, but they can be very interesting and worthwhile listening to. The cntent itself can be a bit challenging and confusing at times, but just ask questions.

The extra credit saved me, so I definitely recommend taking advantage of that! Go to class because he works on homework and goes over exams. The lecture slides weren't that helpful. I recommend paying close attention and taking notes when it comes to using the PH Stat. Work with a group for the PS homework, never try to do them alone!!

Two exams, couple group assignments, and some extra credit. This class will not be easy since it is business statistic, but fortunately Chris is nice, and he is really care about his students. You should be fine as long as follow the syllabus and study hard.

He made stats fun and interesting. His teaching style is very charismatic and he relates the concepts to our day to day lives. He honestly cares about his students and creates an environment where it is okay to ask questions. When regression becomes the topic, it gets hard but if you pay attention to his examples you should be successful.

This class was challenging but Chris made himself available when I needed help. The Laulima was disorganized, but once you know where things are, there's a lot of useful material on there. Chris also gave me invaluable feedback in regards to post-graduate plans. Not an "easy A" class, but you will learn a lot. Lots of extra credit.

Professor Chris is amazing teacher. If you want to see annomus ratings of his students in his class each visit Hawaii ecafe. I read some reviews and was considering not taking his class. I later found out a person has been trolling him for a few years. Other professors like some mention here sit in his class.

I am not a fan of math but professor Rachal changed my opinion about math. Very engaging teacher. His ecafe rating are the highest in Shidler. He was selected as top professor by the students 9 years in a row.

I really like his class but the learning curve after the midterm is steep. However I am learning a lot. I am tutoring a few students in other classes who took other professors.

Stats is a complex subject but Chris is an excellent professor who works with you to break it down and help you understand. His Laulima is super unorganized but has a ton of resources. His class was one of the most challenging but rewarding classes in the MBA program. His assignments were real cases and we interacted with one of the founders of Amazon and a former CEO of alibaba and several other professionals to complete our final project. Great class
