I know Dr. Robbins isn't popular with some, but the fact is he's an excellent teacher. I had him for Western Civ 2 and American History, and he gave me the grades I deserved (C and A). Even though he's a liberal, he's one of the best teachers at SCC.

Dr Robbins lectures are very interesting. if you take good notes you will get a good grade. He is GOOD.

Dr. Robbins gives excellent lectures, and he is very helpful in explaining the research paper. He ties in historical concepts to the present, and enlivens the class by encouraging debate. He is the best SCC prof I've had. Visit him during office hours.

He taught me everything I know about Am. His. If your looking for an easy class, this is not the one to take.You must do all the reading because there are possible prep quizzes at any given time.He is a good teacher,but you have to be willing to work hard

He’s not boring at all and gives you more information in his lectures than the book has to offer. That’s why its important to go to his classes & not miss class. He is a tough grader and has pop essay quizzes.

Very interesting lectures & has a lot of knowledge for American history. Though - he doesn’t spend much time after class to talk to students. He usually leaves right after class, which I didn’t like at all! Besides that, he is a good teacher!!!

Dr Robbins rocks. He is the reason my whole family attended SCC and has their degree now. My oldest son was so impressed with Dr Robbins that he convinced me to come back to school.Now my youngest son is graduating and has taken all his classes.

Unbeliveable. One of the best teachers you will find anywhere. This class is no cakewalk, but you will LEARN a lot. This is college after all. Not for sissies, but for scholars!

Robbins is an excellent teacher, but the class is definately harder than most. He's quite radical for a teacher and brings up a lot of important points about society that most teachers are scared to discuss. Some may find him intimidating for this reason.

this is the class history majors want to take. his lectures are very emotional and engrossing. you will learn a lot when you leave. be warned however that he is very arrogant and strict. he will often call you a moron or of the like. dn take him seriously

Yeah, he might be arrogant, but he is aslo one of the best teachers anyone will have. He is picky and the difficulty is pretty high, but I still wish I could take more classes with him. You will learn A LOT. Trust me.

Can be extremely rude and arrogant. He makes the class challenging, but if you study and do your work, it is very simple. He may not be the nicest guy, but he is by far one of the better teachers/lecturers that I have had. I would take his class again!

His class can be demanding, but the only HW is to read. There are no handouts, just quizes and tests. The class is not as difficult as many make it out to be. As long as you read, you'll do fine on the tests. He is rude, but also smart and interesting.

Great on-line professor. Engages in intellectual discussions on the BB. Challenges you to back your comments with facts. Read the book, print out his class notes and you'll be fine. Quizzes are difficult, but not if you study the material he provides.

Intellectually stimulating. Not a cake walk, but not hard. Just read and listen to his lectures and you should do fine. He has the most amazing lectures. History majors NEED to take his class. You wish u could take him to grad school with you.

Dr. Robbins is an incredibly rude and arrogant man that refuses to look his students in the face when in a one to one conversation...in fact, he will blow smoke in your face and pretend not to notice..however, he is a very gifted teacher that makes the class interesting.

He is the best history teacher ever. I've never been so awake during history lectures! Not one class was boring, and Dr. Robbin's lectures were amazing. You do need to be a halfway decent writer for the quizzes in the class though. I would take more classes with him if my schedule works out right!

Great teacher. He really knows what his stuff. He is respectable because he is knowledgeable. Tough on attendance adherence. Hard but a very stimulating teacher and I learned a lot. Don't sign up for his class if you don't intend to study or do readings because he will quiz and call on you.

The best teacher I've ever had. Yes, he has a bit of an arrogant side, and runs a tough class, but that helps to keep you on your toes. Goes out of his was to have personal relationships with as many students as he can. Extremely knowledgable in his field. Will teach you if you're willing to work.

Anyone who says that this teacher was unfair or not worth the time is just lazy and doesn't want to put actual WORK and their BRAIN into college. Robbins only expects of you what YOU want to get out of it. He is a great mind & you should take him if you want to go to college to LEARN & GROW.

Finally a real professor with future ambitions of prosperity for his students. His lectures are priceless. People complain he is too hard. BS, he helps mold and broaden your academic intelect. I could only hope that I find more teachers like Dr. Robbins when I go to grad school.

Dr Robbins does put his students down, those who constantly interrup him, which makes the class uneasy; however, he is an inspiring teacher and will admit when he does not know something-I have seen it with my own eyes.I am an adult student and found the class exciting and well worth my time. This online class is tough to say the least. Dr. Robbins is very arrogant and it would seem that if your opinions do not match that of his you are doomed to failure. The 2 papers on historical importance are a killer. If you value your ideas and opinions more than a good grade, this would not be the class for you...

When I signed up for WC 1 last year and read the ratings I was scared and intimidated. Now, I never want to have a semester without Robbins as my professor! His class is challenging no doubt, but it is fascinating and he is the best teacher I have ever had. If you actually want to learn something in college, then take this class!!!!!

It's true: he's very pompous. But, he knows history. Hard class, but if you put forth effort it's fine. You're not going to breeze through, but it's not 3000 level calculus either. I learned a lot in the class, and did well on all the tests, and i'm a horrible student, so if you have decent study habits you'll survive.

Dr. Robbins is the best teacher at SCC. He has helped me in every possible way. I have taken him 3 times and have received an A every time. He has written me countless letters of recommendation helped me get into the honors program at SCC. You need to have thick skin and work hard and earn his respect and don't expect special treatment.

Dr. Robbins is an incredible teacher. Yes, he is hard and holds students accountable. Work hard, study and you will get an A. He offers help to students that ask and are willing to do the work. I have talked to students that have graduated with their masters and that say Dr. Robbins was one of the best professors they ever had, I believe it!

I find Dr. Robbins to be extremely knowledgable and an interesting, challenging teacher. If you work to his standards, you'll definitely learn your stuff. I appreciate that he holds students to a "college standard". What I do NOT appreciate is when he scoffs at students, verbally berates them, SCREAMS, and slams the podium with his fist. CRAZY?!

Great course and great instructor. Dr. Robbins tells the students what has to be done and expects them to be able to do it. If you are unable to perform at a college level (i.e. write well, study well,apply yourself, and think for yourself) then you will not do well in this course. This prof. expects you to EARN your grade.

I took the course online, but really wish I'd been in the classroom with him. He's an extremely intelligent man and expects a lot of his students. Back when I took this course I found him to be a very good teacher. He knows a lot about the subject matter. The one problem I had with him though is that he plays favorites with the honor students that are in the honor society. I found that he tended to cater to their needs more than the rest of the class. He needs to treat everyone equally!

This teacher is amazing.I took Western Civilization-1600. You will learn a lot. He's very entertaining. I enjoyed his class. Work wise you will have to write a couple of in-class surprise essays, so make sure you read. He usually hints when he plans to have these surprise essays.

Dr. Robbins is an exceptional community college professor and will make sure you know it. He certainly gets across points he intends to and challenges students to work hard. This class taught me a lot and I am glad I took it. If you are a Christian I highly recommend reading an apologetics book on form/source criticism prior to taking this course.

Professor Robbins is very strict; however, he provides clear subjects notes and communicates when required. If you work hard with the postings you?ll get extra credit towards final grade The only thing is that the class is very demanding if you study hard you?ll get A if not you barely will pass I got an A in the class, but it was hard to get it.

I have taken as many of Dr. Robbins classes as time has alotted me at SCC. His EUH class was the first time I was invigorated to learn. I owe it to this professor to open up the pearly gates of academia. Though I am a Bio major, I will never regret taking this teacher. Those who complain are University bound students. This course load was unbearable. If the tests and quizzes weren't sporatic there might have been hope. There were 2 many forum discussions also. If you like intense, you've met your match.

This class is not an easy A, but I actually learned a lot from him. I put in marginal effort and got a B. He grades papers quickly which I liked. He is quick to compliment good work and quicker to call out crappy work. Arrogant? Perhaps, but he knows his subjects well. I'd take him again.

Perhaps the best teacher I've ever had. Some claim he is 'rude;' however, this is not the case - these students just do not have a sense of humor and viewed his comical comments in the wrong context. Dr. Robbins challenged his classes, and made you want to learn. His teaching style reminded me of Lewis Black (The funny Dean in 'Accepted').

A great professor. He prepares his students for the real world by helping them work hard, and be professional. I loved how he made fun of the students who say "like" all the time. He's very funny. If you want to make yourself better, I recommend him to any student who wants to make themselves better.

He seem abrasive at first but he is really just pushing you to succeed. Not a bad guy, I really like how he responds to the many mini-papers you have to do. There is a lot of reading but you learn a lot too. Also, there is no textbook! All the text is online (he has prepared it for you!)

The best professor I ever had. I was honors and P T K. He molded me and guided me and opened up options to me I never knew I had. He saw my potential and helped me change my life. I couldn't have better things to say about this professor. If you are an exceptional student who wants to expand your mind and succeed, this is the man to guide you.

Take this class online. You read a section and take a quiz. There is plenty of time allotted on both the exams and quizzes. It's super easy!

Such a great course! For the summer course it was only reading and taking tests. Take good notes and REALLY read the modules and you will do great. The professor is a very smart man and an extremely talented writer. He is a little rough around the edges. If you put the time in and really give an effort you will definitely pass. Would recommend.

Very easy class there is no textbook, but you do have modules to read. All you have to do is read the Modules then take the quizzes. Some questions can be a bit tricky but all you have to do is pay close attention to what you read and you'll do fine on the quizzes. Tests are timed so make sure to read before taking them.

Prof Robbins is great! He keeps a great line of communication open! Sends emails every week about the class and things you need to know! The class is not easy but if you read the modules and actually pay attention to what you are reading you will do great! He is funny in is writings. Very straightforward professor. He clearly loves the subject of which he teaches, and while I barely made a "C" in the course, that is completely my fault. Professor Robbins is real, and offers more than enough help and resources should you ever need it. He is strict on deadlines, as he should be-- though definitely not an easy "A" as others claim.

There is no textbook but this class is based on reading ALOTT. He is a very sarcastic professor and you can see this when he writes. The class was okay but you get whatever grade you earn. Only quizzes and test and one extra credit paper.

A great class to take, online part was do-able with lots of reading and links supplied by the professor. Be sure to read the questions carefully. He supplies feedback on quizzes and/or things to look out for. I did trip up a bit on a few confusing questions, (so yes, read carefully) but overall this was a great class.
