This teacher thinks he is smartest, funniest, and coolest professor there is. I feel like he is always talking about himself. On the other hand his class is very interesting. He knows the material very well and he gives you a pop quiz about once a week. There is plenty of extra credit though. Study for the tests!!

Attendance is mandatory and if you miss more than four days you get point taken off your final grade. Be in class to take notes because he will pick the most random question from his notes to be on his tests. I've gotten C's on all of them and I read the book like he says.

I LOVED this class! Dr. Roberts made everything so interesting in class, but it is mandatory to go to class. Class is always really fun and I would definitely take this course if you have to have MC101 for your major. He is actually really funny and his lectures are easy to follow :)

ATTEND CLASS + take notes = get a B or above! Do his extra credit as well, they are usually pretty easy. He's really interesting. If you're absent, you'll miss a lot. If he's absent he'll do a video :( -those are NOT COOL or interesting. So attendance is mandatory! But overall, he is a great professor. Very funny.

Dr.Roberts is a great speaker and makes class pretty interesting. The only thing that I didn't like was that he takes attendance or makes you take a quiz every class. Also, a large majority of test questions come from lecture, not the book. He gives a lot of easy extra credit oppurtunities too. He posts test tips on his Twitter account too.

He is a GREAT teacher. Very easy and fun to listen to teach and keeps the class interesting. He throws in jokes to keep the class not too serious. The tests are somewhat difficult but if you read the chapters in the book, attend lecture and do the test review questions you can easily pass.

Dr. Roberts is the one to take if you're going to be taking MC 101. I know this because I've taken another professor, and it is almost a joke how much better Dr. Roberts is. He makes every class so interesting, and really works hard on each Powerpoint. The tests are a bit difficult (mostly T or F) but it's not difficult to make A's.

Dr. Roberts was always accessible outside of class, and he showed a genuine interest and enthusiasm for helping his students achieve their goals. Highly recommend.

THE BEST TEACHER EVER. He is so engaging and makes you question whether you're there for an hour and 15 min or not because the class flies by. YOU HAVE TO READ AND GO TO CLASS THOUGH as he takes attendance every class, but not just a sign in sheet, you have to physically turn something in so your friend can't so it for you. Dr. Roberts is a pretty fun teacher, although he can get pretty corny at times. Most of the topics are current so its pretty interesting. His tests are kind of hard, but if you study, you'll make a B+ at least. He gives many chances for extra credit throughout the semester and there are only maybe 5 writing assignments.

Chris was energetic, charismatic, and quite competent in regards to making a horribly boring subject interesting. While at times he can come across as a bit condescending he is nevertheless quite clear on his expectations and offers extra credit in abundance. A definite recommendation.

Tests are not tough as long as you study. This is not a weed-out class so it's pretty basic. His powerpoints contain little star symbols next to the slides he wants you to know for the test so as long as you're paying attention, you're fine. I repeat, this is not a hard class. One of the best online teachers around, his lecture videos are comical and informative. Heed my advice: the tests are tricky and difficult. I read other students report of this and thought they were kidding -- no, they are hard. I ended up with an A but it took a lot of hard work. Stay in contact with him, he is very helpful if you're struggling.

I love Dr. Roberts! I took this class online (COVID) but I wish I had him in person. His online lectures were hilarious and I learned a ton from the class. Professor Roberts was one of my favorite professors this semester. This class is very attendance mandatory. Have 4 or more unexcused absences you simply don't get credit for the class. I love Professor Roberts!!! Everyone should take his class! He made learning so much fun and his lectures were so engaging! This class was pretty easy if you took good notes and went to class. He also gave test answers on his twitter and answered any questions you might have.

The most difficult class I have ever taken at UA. around 100+ pages of reading per week but there is no textbook which is nice. Weekly 1,000 word minimum papers in AP style/APA citations. It was overall really exhausting and hard to manage but it is a graduate class. Roberts is insightful, but the texts didn't often parallel to lectures. It was ok.

Dr. Roberts grad level journalism class has a lot of reading/writing but that's to be expected at that level. As a plus the semester research paper is more manageable, 8-12 pages not 15-20. Dr. Roberts responds quickly to emails. He is a gentlemen and passionate about journalism and teaches to prep students for a changing and challenging industry.

Dr. Roberts has probably got to be one of my favorite professors at UA and he gives some of the best lectures I've ever attended. He really cares a lot about his students, but he gives tough love because he wants to see you grow. Be prepared to read a good bit, take a lot of notes, and do some solid studying. Take his class! His content is thorough and he clearly outlines expectations for exams and homework. Beware, there are a few points in this class. Losing 20 points is the difference between a B and an A. Content is straight forward and he doesn't trick you on exams. Great professor. Worked really hard on his course content.

Dr. Roberts has been my #1 favorite teacher at UA and one of my favorite classes to take. He has an engaging and creative way of teaching that makes me enjoy learning about the content of this class. Very few homework assignments that aren't too hard and help you understand the course material better. I would 100% recommend him and this class!

Dr. Roberts is exceptional. His lectures are engaging and content heavy, so you can sometimes skip out on some reading. The weekly packbacks are a little annoying and his tests are 100 questions and pretty difficult, but with all of your homework grades you should be able to do really well with some effort put in. Professor Roberts runs a tight ship, but if you engage with the course materials and use tools like unstuck ai for study prep, you'll do well. Entertaining lectures, fair grading, and genuine care for students make this a great class.

If you arent good at test taking definitely take him online versus mike little in person! WE had weekly assignments that were super easy and basically effort based. Only 2 tests, but 100 questions w/ lockdown browser and camera but they arent that hard. I never watched any of the lectures and I ended with an A literally just do the work

I enjoyed this class. Dr. Roberts was fun and I enjoyed his lectures and videos he used. His instructions were clear. He's big on not using AI lol. But the assignments aren't hard if you watch/attend the lectures. I would 10/10 take this class again or any other class he teaches.

I have thoroughly enjoyed taking this class with Dr. Roberts as the professor. He makes going to a 5pm lecture entertaining, interactive and dare I say fun! Dr. Roberts made the class interesting and very easy to follow and understand. I had is 5:00 pm class but was still entertained by his lecture. He really cares about his students and wants them to do well.

I can tell Dr. Robert's genuinely cared for his students. His passion for what he does is refreshing. Just do your part and you'll be fine.

Dr. Roberts is overall a great professor, do not use AI, and showing up and doing the assignments is also super important. Other than that the class is easy and pretty straight forward the tests are harder but honestly if you study a little bit you will get a decent grade.

Dr. Roberts was truly an amazing professor. I have never written a review on a professor before, but he was so amazing that I had to. He keeps his lectures super hilarious while covering the important course content. It is nearly impossible to fail this class if you just attend the lectures because he literally posts the test tips every class!!!!

TAKE MC 101 with this guy!!!! I was hesitant to take a 5pm, but his lectures made it worth it everytime. Textbook is mandatory, and you actually do use it throughout the course. Genuinely no complaints about this class or this professor whatsoever. Will recommend Chris Roberts' class to ANYONE!
