This class is pretty easy. You learn some and as long as you take good notes the tests are fine. He rambles a bit but overall a good class.

This class was a breeze. He's nice/laid back. Seems like he could use some more confidence in himself, he talks about Pad like he's a marketing GOD but from what I hear he's a far better prof then Pad is. I hear his class isn't as easy as it was before.

Samfillippo is one of the best teachers I have had over the past 4 years at UMD. You learn a lot and at the same time it is not too hard of a class. Some of the quizzes are a challenge, but the papers are easy. Take him if you can!

Good teacher, was a pretty cool class, he keeps it interesting by telling a lot of stories related to marketing. Tests weren't that hard, but come from the book and lecture, so pay attention and read.

This is the third time I've had him as a teacher and have done well in all of them. Very thorough explainations. Tests can be somewhat challenging if you don't study well, but otherwise they aren't bad. Very nice and courteous and likes to see his students succeed.

Very good instructor!! His exams, quizzes, and articles analyses are very easy. As long as you understand most of the material in the book, you will do fine in this class. For the two exams, he gives you a review sheet. Study exactly what's on those, and you will get an A

The coolest/nicest teacher. He gives you a review sheet before the test which is exactly what is on the test. Paper/presentation were very easy, he doesnt even read the paper. Very nice guy.

Excellent prof. I don't know what those other people are complaining about. Very friendly, class is challenging, but not impossible to get an A in. Also very knowledgeable. If you complain about Samfillippo, your college career has been way too easy!

Very, very nice and friendly! Class is graded fairly where the student has a good chance of getting an A. Has experience in this area of marketing so he knows what he's talking about. A very sophisticated, elegant dresser. He needed to spend more time on lectures and less time on the project.

Sam-falip is an awesome teacher. He is not hard at all. His tests are easy if you go over his powerpoint presentations. I had him 3 or 4 times and did very well. He loves when you participate with meaningful info.

Samfillippo is a great professor. if i ever have a chance to take him for another class I will. his class is pretty easy if you do the work. and the tests and quizes come right off of the power point presentations.

Yeah, he appears to be so nice at first, but his tests and quizzes are tricky. Also, I had an overall of 92 in the class and I got an A-, which was fair according to his grading scale, but someone else who also had a 92 received a solid A. As far as the 20 page group project, I bet you could write jibberjabber, b/c I don't think he even reads them

lectures tend to get BORING, but he is an easy grader, Quizzes are avarage- not to easy not to hard. very informative.

Don't take him??? I'd take all of his classes!!! This is the beauty of real-world education and experiences - the textbook stuff is only a primer to life, folks. Sure, some in my group didn't hold up their end, but I made it work (A+). Such an interesting marketing prof, too- loves his stuff, and loves to share.

Excellent professor. Class is interesting, but can get boring during student presentations. Professor works with you, very kind, he's a cutie-pie. You will have group assignments and 2 presentations. A 25 page research paper is due with one of the group assignements, but with a group of 5 people that's only 5 pages each. I am taking him for MKT436

Class was not hard. However, he uses participation points to punish instead of helping students grades. I had almost 100% in the class but he gave me an -A because I did not talk enough. He fails to realize a lot of students have no interest in marketing or discussing marketing because it is common sense tripe.

Great professor, so fuuny and easy class. Very helpful ,encourages discussion about marketing experiences. SOOO handsome too.

I think Samfilippo is overrated. He gets off topic way too much, and his tests have become difficult (Pick: a, b, c, all of the above, or a and c only). He's a nice guy, not a fan of his teaching though.

Had him for 352. Best class ever! Very easy and he makes it fun. MKT 436 was harder than I expected. 2 group cases, couple individual assignments (pretty easy), but tests were hard. He's very nice and funny. Take him!

Easy class. However, his tests are not straight forward, the MC are tricky. It seems like there is no definite answer to some of the ?'s. They are wishy-washy. Without studying you can easily get an A- in the class. He gets off subject every class but will hold you responsible when it comes to the tests. It is an easy, auto A- class, not an auto A.

Don't buy the book..print out the ppt. notes, try to get to every class, do exacctlyy what he wants on the sales pitch project..gets you at least an B+..Great teacher, really nice guy, always willing to help out..Highly Recommended!!

If I needed a Marketing class again, I'll definitely choose him. My Friend took same class with Izberk and had horrible time.. Chris is Extremely nice, and he tries to teach you etiquette in addition to marketing.. He talks about how you should dress and what to say to your boss's boss when you meet him! Very Interesting Teacher.. A+

Easy A as long as you attend class and take good notes. If you go to office hours about the marketing plan you will do very well on it. Do not buy the book, all of the quiz material is presented in class!

This instructor was O-K! Lecturers - extremely boring!! Take with Hartge if you can!

He's a great guy. Had him for two classes, but honestly felt like I didn't learn a whole lot about marketing. :( I'm disappointed with the majority of marketing profs at this school.

Never used the book. It's still wrapped in plastic. He prints out the slides and passes them out before class begins. Slides were vauge so be sure to pay attention and take notes. Quizzes were easy but final was pretty tricky. Project was fun and easy. Articles were confusing for some so be sure you know what he wants or else you'll get a 0/5.

Explains the material very clearly. Lectures from P/T slides. Material from slides can be located in the book providing additional explanation. Four quizes and a final. Also, a group project. Group project was not bad. Grades very fair. Test questions can be confusing. Three in-class group projects. Do the work and you will be fine.

I really wish every teacher at U of M was like professor Samfilippo. He really cares about his students and makes class worth going to and because of him I actually changed my major to marketing. The class consists of quizzes, a midterm and final, and group project. Overall easy class! Highly Recommend!

The best professor at UM-D! He has pleanty of real world experience and brings it to the classroom. He clearly outlines what you need to do to get an A and if you don't ace the class then it's your fault. Very approachable nice guy as well. This is the prof you want for marketing if you want to learn and not have your time wasted!

Loved this guy, he has a sense of humor and real world experience to use for examples. The material isn't that tough to understand, and he has clear guidelines of what you need to study for the couple of exams. Make sure you take notes to go with the slideshows though, because he does as tidbits to his basic outline. Overall, one of my favorites

Prof Sflips is a great guy very nice, very humble, very informative and teaches you marketing like a pro. Very easy class, no reason anybody shouldnt get an A.

AWESOME teacher! Easy class and he is consistent with his lectures and the tests. Super laid back and easy going. You'll like him.

Hands down, the best instructor I have encountered at UMD. Low book usage, makes lectures interesting. No surprises on exams. You won't see it appear on exam, if he didn't cover it. I wish all my instructors were of his caliber.

Samfillippo is a great prof, I would take him again anytime. Interesting lectures, group project isn't bad, over good experience. He is a smart guy and very approachable. There's no reason not to pass this class, he is a good instructor. Make sure you show up though, he doesn't take attendance, and his lectures are important to see.

Great Professor. Lectures are pretty long and boring. We only had a few assignments and quizzes and 2 test. Nothing you cant get an A on.

His lectures are interesting, and his expectations are reasonable. You can tell he genuinely loves teaching and wants his students to do well. I enjoyed his class and would take it again in a heartbeat. You will not regret having him as your professor.

This guy is like a cute, grandfather type of man. He really cares about everyone individually. Not to mention, it's so cute when he wears his "coke bottle" glasses. Omg. He's interesting, fun, and so positive. Really awesome. There is a group project, but it's not that bad. You have to write a paper and do a presentation.

Just take him YOU won't regret it.... He is amazing and know his materials.

Went in saying "oh great, another marketing class" as I had a BBA in the subject. Turns out it was the best marketing class I have taken. You'll learn a lot and have great discussions with everyone in class on different aspects of marketing. Some on here say he is an easy grader, but I'd say he recognizes effort and rewards you for it, dont slack!

Professor Samfillippo is a great professor!! 4 quizzes and a group project with no homework. He does require you to read the chapters before class. He also will drop the lowest quiz grade. He is hilarious and makes class enjoyable and while learning. If you want a great experience with someone who actually knows his stuff !!!

Professor Samfillippo is a very polished individual. His choice of words as well as how he articulates himself through the lectures as well as his book definetely goes to show seasoned he is in the subject he teaches His class puts more of an emphasis on context rather than content, making is a higher quality learning experience overall.

I have never had such an inspirational and amazing professor! Literally the best professor at UMD. Pay attention in class and you'll do good on the quizzes and exams. Quizzes and exams are all multiple choice and T/F. There was a group project that was really fun to do! He engages students and makes learning fun!

Professor Samfilippo is fantastic, the best professor I've had at U of M Dearborn. Definitely take him if you have the option. His class is easy if you participate, and he genuinely cares about his students.

Prof. Samfilipo is a one of kind guy/ teacher. I often found myself staying 15-20 minutes after a class just to talk to him. His lectures are very well put together, and his enthusiasm about marketing and teaching very apparent. Prof. Samfilipo is the standard by which all teachers should judge themselves. Caring, thoughtful, and enthusiastic.

Great professor, this is the second time I have taken his class and both times were great! He is a fair grader and really understands his students. His experience and stories really add to the lecture and make it very fun and interesting. Would take at any opportunity.

We had tests, and a group project, and in-class exercises. You have to be in class to be counted for the in class exercise. This class is such an easy class... its his tricky tests that getcha. He is the best professor for Marketing hands down. Great Guy, always is dressed up. He's the type of guy you wish you were family with. Highly Recommend

Professor Chris Samfillippo is an amazing teacher. I wish I can take every business class with him. His class is very enjoyable and you'll learn a ton. There are 2 exams and 12 online 10 question quizzes. Also a group project at the end of the term. You'll get an A if you read the book, watch the online lectures, and take notes in class.

He's a nice guy, really cares about his students and wants everyone to succeed. His class is a flipped classroom. To be honest his video lectures are kind of boring, but they basically outline his book. If you don't want to read the book watch his lectures. There is a final presentation, but you work on it throughout the semester so it's not bad.

He is a very laid back guy. Just don't talk during presentations and lectures and he will love you. He gives weekly online quizzes and then at the end of the semester he assigns a 5 year plan which is just stating where you want to be each year. Truly easy class. If you don't pass you did not pay attention.

Really nice guy. Class is mostly lectures and some activities and group projects. Read the PowerPoints and his book and the class will be fine. Professor loves to help and is really passionate so don't hesitate to ask questions.

Decent professor overall in a free-flowing class with weekly lectures and updates to stay on track. Most teaching conducted by reading the textbook and watching lecture videos. Semester-long group project with a non-profit was interesting along with learning Google Analytics. Exams were poorly written making the class more difficult than it was.

Attendance is not mandatory for his class, but you should show up. He is really nice and cares for his students.

Class that has a quiz after each class period. Hes cancelled class more than weve had it. Its pass or fail so just do decent on the quizzes. Nice guy and easy going.

Chris is alright. His exams are okay if u watch his lecture videos. he weighs the whole grade on two assignments and a term project and three exams. His project is easy but confusing for some reason. If you want to do good on the project, get a good group. if you are in a lazy group, you are done.

he is very easy. if you just pay attention in his class, youll do fine. hes always open to questions and emails back fast. he doesnt have homework in his class but he does have pop quizzes after class and those usually make your grade but once again, they arent anything to stress over. take notes, relax, and listen & youll do perfectly fine.
