Dr. Stuart is a good, but tough professor. He tries to be fair and listen to all sides in a debate, but occassionally he is cranky and tends to strongly favor his own opinions over what others think.

Dr. Stuart rocks, you never seem to look at the clock when your in his class. He's so smart and really knows what he's talking about, plus, he's always willing to help you out and read your papers beforehand. And I agree, he is like a cute little kid.

Dr. Stuart is one of those teachers that everyone wants in their class. He makes the most boring material seem somewhat interesting. He's really opinionated, but sometimes it's hard to figure out if he's stating his own personal opinions. He's great!

Dr. Stuart is an excellent teacher. He really made us think. We had very interesting conversations in class, and I really learned a lot about myself because of him. He is an intelligent and insightful teacher. His class is never boring!

I have been separated from Dr. Stuart from a semester and the tearing of flesh that has resulted from such a separation has resulted in such a flesh/soul wound that I don't think will ever mend.

Totally vain and pompous, but get used to it. This isn't high school. He cares about ALL of his students more than most professors. He's a great teacher and not too hard on the eyes.

A little opinionated, but can see others' points of view sometimes, on his good days. He's a bright teacher that cares for all his students. You can tell he has favorites, but that's ok. Overall, I have learned a lot from him.

He humor is very dry and usually says things to rile you. He loves to class participation. He is more understanding than he looks. He gives second chances on papers which is great. He is a great teacher who loves this website. Can i get extra credit for this? (Hint)

He is a harsh grader, however; he gives you a secong chance on papers. He makes all of the novels interesting. He always facilitated great class discussions. Even if you aren't interested in the discussion, you can just stare at him.

I hated this guy at first.He made us sit in a circle and speaks quietly.But you have to get to know him.This man LOVES teaching,and he is good at it.He is sweet natured,and quite helpful with paper re-writes.He knows his students.You may think he doesn't know your name or doesn't care about you but he does.Definitely take this man,he is inspiring!

Dr. Stuart is the first english/humanities teacher i've ever had that has made this subject matter interesting. He asks questions that make you think about why you believe things. He's very hard and picky on papers but he is very helpful and will make you a better writer for certain. If you have the chance, take his class!

A truly teaching teacher. I learned more about the research process and in-depth literary analysis in this class than in any that preceeded it. Will work you hard! 3000 pages reading in one semester.

He's probably one of the best teacher's I've had. Sure, he does grade hard, but not just for the sake of being cruel. You will be a better writer for it. He will make you thinks about things. Rewrites are a must, but he is extremely willing to help you out. Sarcastic, but funny and very nice.

Be prepared to agree with HIS opinions in class, on tests, or on your paper...unless you're a guy in which he deems you a worthy oponent. If you disagree on a test, it's wrong, and on a paper you better have 10 pages of facts to back it up. He IS helpful with rewrites, but you have to experience the whole class with him as the only perspective.

As an English major, Dr. Stuart has helped me learn to write on a collegiate level more than any other professor. I'm able to easily make A's on other upper-level English papers because of what he taught me. Funny, interesting... he's a tough grader on papers but he allows rewrites and is very willing to help. I loved his class.

This class is HARD, but it is absolutely worth it. My writing has improved considerably. Dr. Stuart is extremely helpful, and always very clear when explaining things in class. Essays are really tough, but he will meet with you to help you get started and you can rewrite them. My favorite teacher so far. Plus he's hot. =P

I have taken Dr. Stuart for three different classes at UTC. He is easily my favorite teacher. He is earnest and fair in his grading and his lectures are always very thought-provoking. He is also really funny and willing to help. I would honestly take him three more times if I could. Do yourself a favor and take one of his classes.

Dr. Stuart is a beautiful person, inside and out. I'm a business major & took his class as an elective. I've never had such an interesting teacher who was so intelligent. His lectures are thought provoking and I highly recommended taking one of his classes.

I liked his lectures because they were fun and interesting. HOWEVER, he is not a fair grader. He even says that you will most likely not get an A in his class. Even attending every class, having a A+ quiz average,a high test average and actively leading the discussions it seems the odds are against you.

Dr. Stuart is one of the best teachers I've ever had. I thorougly enjoyed his class; I never missed one (though I'm prone to skipping others). It's a challenging course but well worth it. Stay on top of your reading if you want to do well in his class. *Take him!

I can't sing his praises any higher. However, please be aware that this is not a professor for lazy people. If you make a poor grade in his class, it's your fault. He demands a lot from student papers, but you have unlimited rewrites. Excellent readings selection. He is extremely approachable and is helpful with academics and life. Also gorgeous.

Survey of American Lit with Dr. Stuart is BY FAR my favorite class of college thus far. Extremely interesting discussions. He expects participation in class but it pays off in the end. Skipping this class is definitely not a wise decision, because everything is covered in the discussion style lectures. Definitely recommend!

Dr. Stuart is far and away THE best professor at UTC. He is a tough paper grader but is always willing to help. Class discussions are always wonderful, and it helps that he assigns great literature. He is also very attractive. So if you ever do get bored in class you can just stare at him. Even if you aren't bored you will probably still stare.

Excellent teacher who cares at great depth. Hilarious. Contagiously intelligent. Highly accessible. Allows rewrites. Take the opportunity to learn from him because he will raise your level of inquiry. I get through my week by telling myself I get to go to this class! By far my favorite and hes such a good professor. Super helpful if youll only go to his office and ask. The feedback he gives you on papers is amazing. He does tend to favor the more attractive people in class and hell make you feel dumb if he doesnt agree but TAKE HIS CLASS!!

Take his class you will not regret it! You will learn not only how to become a better writer but also be able gain in class discussion skills. Speak up in class even when you might be wrong, you will learn the most when discussing your ideas in his class! He gives awesome notes for your papers and will let you rewrite them. Just do the readings!

Dr. Stuart is a really incredible professor. He really cares about his students. I really had to work in this class, but I didn't mind it that much because of how passionate he is about teaching it makes you passionate about learning. Don't take this if you're looking for an easy A.

Best professor ever. I felt like he cared about me and was super into what he taught. there is a lot of reading but most of them have audio books you can listen to and read along. i loved this class and wish i could take it again

i really really love dr stuart, and he is one of my favorite professors i have ever had. people warned me about this class, but if you actually read the material it is a breeze. no homework besides lots of reading and papers. a few quizzes, but they are easy if you read. you also can rewrite any paper as many times as you want. love this man

Professor Stuart is a good professor, but his class isn't an easy A. He's an extremely difficult grader, but he gives good feedback. There's a lot of reading and he does give quizzes on them, but if you read the material thoroughly they aren't hard at all. His classes are really what you make them

The class was Values in 20th Century Literature. It's a discussion class, make sure you read the book. You have a week to read a book, then you discuss that book in class while reading on your own the next book. Over the semester, we read 5 novels and 4 short stories. He grades easy on the tests and quizzes, it's always about participation.

dr. stuart is an amazing professor. his class is super interesting, but it's a lot of reading. we had 5 quizzes, discussion posts on the books, and 3 exams, including the final one. attendance was mandatory, but we got 3 skips. just make sure you come prepared to class. he likes it when you speak up in class. great guy, definitely recommend!

Dr. Stuarts class was very fun. His lectures are very engaging. He allows students to rewrite their essays as many times as they want until the end of the semester and provides great feedback on essays. I had him for multiple classes and they were all great.

At first, I was unsure of Dr. Stuart, because he comes off very hard. Though he's a hard grader, he's always available to go over material and work with you to rewrite (which you can do for every paper, at any time). Assignments can be difficult bc there's not always very descriptive instructions, but overall I enjoyed Dr. Stuart and grew a lot!

Professor Stuart is the best English professor I have had. He is kind and always attentive to questions during office hours. He gives great feedback and I genuinely feel like he helped me improve. Being able to rewrite papers was great! He entertains all interpretations and makes you really think about what you have to say about the works you read.

Dr. Stuart is top tier. He's a difficult, tough grader, and you better read the course materials because you're probably going to be quizzed on it. However, he provides great feedback and allows for rewrites, and it's easy to get extra credit on the quizzes. Dr. Stuart is not afraid to talk about some heavy stuff, so be prepared.

Be sure to actually read the assigned readings as he will quiz you, and the quizzes are a solid portion of your grade. Couldn't recommend him enough.
