I always looked enjoyed attending Professor Verem's class. She is a complete sweetheart and very understanding. The class consists of different units and each unit builds up to a final essay. As long as you do the work and not a half ass job then you should be fine. GREAT TEACHER! take her class.

shes wonderful. the best professor i've had so far. she helps you with anything- and is definitly a great person. she is so sweet, and very loving. fair and interested in everything you have to say. she will even help you with personal problems- she is wonderful! take this class- you most defintily will not regret it. I miss her already.

Wonderfull professor!! I did extremely well in her class and I am not that smart! I even tried to get her for the next level. She gives HW almost evey class but nothing too hard, opinions mostly. Maybe 5 papers and a portfolio at the end, no tests. Take her class!!!

BEST PROFESSOR EVER. She is young so it's easy to talk and relate to. Casual learning environment. Homework: theres homework for every class, but it's all interesting stuff to talk about. Just voice your opinion and you'll do fine. Her essay's will challenge you as a writer, but she'll walk you through it. My favorite class Spring Semester '08.

I absolutely loved her. She is very easy going and is extremely nice. You have homework every class, but mostly papers where you give your opinion on a subject. There are no tests. Essays count for a lot so make sure you do them, & you'll have to do a portfolio at the end. She'll let you fix your essays if you get a low grade. Definitely Take Her!!

Prof Verem is a great teacher. Her classes were enjoyable and rlly funny a lot of the times. My class got pretty close after this semester from the amnt of discussions we had 2gether. Verem is a hard grader, but gives you chances to improve. If u ever need her help, she's there. I def. recommend her 2 any student who wnt 2 improve their writing.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this teacher. Her slight scarcasam makes the class fun! She is tough when it comes to grading, but that is what helps me become a better writer! She is a great teacher and considers the point of view from all of her students when it comes down to choosing what to read for an assignment.

Professor Verem is probably the most outstanding professor at Montclair State University. I had for for 105 AND 106, and frankly I'm sad to not have the pleasure of being her student anymore. I think she is a FAIR grader and she will help you in any way she can to bring your grades up. I love Prof Verem, I couldn't have gotten through without her.

I really loved having Prof. Verem! She is funny and extremely helpful. I looked forward to English class each week. (= Some may say she's a hard grader, but what you give into the course is what you'll get out. I'd really recommend her. My writing most definitely improved. I'm also sad not to have her in the future.

She was probably one of the best english teachers I've ever had. She helps you through every essay and she really wants you to get an A in her class. The assignments are usually small but you should put some thought into them. The final portfolio was very simple as long as you do well with your essays in the beginning.

Shes an awesome person. Loved being in class. There was a lot of work but I am a hard worker so it was bearable. Then, she gave me a c and I couldn't believe it. She grades every paper so hard, its like impossible to get an A. But if your up for the challenge then I'd say go for it because as a person I loved her.

Easily one of my favorite teachers ever; she assigns great stories and the assignments are really meant to test your writing skills and thus making you a great writer by the end of the class. If I could take her again I totally would because overall she was just an amazing teacher and someone who you can really look up to. She's definitely a must.

She is extremely helpful and keeps the class interesting. There is plenty of writings but they are fairly simple. Get the book because she uses it constantly and stay on top of your work because even though she is easy she takes the assignments very seriously. About 4 big writings and a portfolio at the end of the course. I highly recommend her.

One of the best teachers at MSU. I strongly recommend her. She's super nice and always willing to help you. Her work can be challenging but it's definitely doable. She gives five essays and easy homework from the book. You also do a lot of peer review in 105. She's open to class discussions.I can honestly say she has helped me with my writing. :)

She's really nice and will help you whenever you ask for it. The only thing is she's a tough grader. There is a assignment due every class. But she's chilled, Take her if your good at writing or else your grade won't reflect what you've learned.

I was a really bad writer before I took her class. She does have high standards but ita worth it. You're in college, you have to write at a college level. She is doing that. She's easygoing and not boring like other professors.

Best professor I've had. I've had her for 2 semesters and she's an amazing professor. Extremely helpful and if you really want to improve your writing she's the teacher to go to. Work load is college level obviously, it's not high school anymore. She's a tough grader but if you're determined to get an A it makes your work harder.

Professor Verem made class interesting by the way in which she analyzed the literature we were discussing. Obtaining a good grade in her class really depends on YOU and how much effort you put into writing. She is always there to help whether it is after class or through email. I would definitely recommend her! Such an amazing professor!

Prof. Verem was my very first English professor ever, and helped solidify that teaching English is what I want to do with my life. I didn't do as well in her class as I had hoped, but I definitely learned a lot from her. A truly spectacular teacher. I'd recommend her to anyone.

I never liked writing until I took Prof. Verem's class. She made me excited to write and always paid close personal attention to each of her students. Its not a hard class, but there is a fair amount of work. Assignments each week including twitter chats and 4 essays. It was never overwhelming if you did your work on time. LOVED HER

The topics that we cover in class are extremely thought provoking. She makes things extremely clear, but won't spoon feed you any answers. Essays are tough but that's how it is with every class. There is also enough liberty on the essays to write about what you are passionate about within the lesson topic.

She is a pretty good writing teacher compared to the other ones at MSU. She tries to make class fun which she does. She assigns four papers for the semester and a final portfolio project. The average grade on papers was B- because she gave everyone the same grades in the class. The semester starts off easy but as it goes on it gets harder.

Professor Verem is awesome, definitely my favorite professor from my first semester. She is super funny and always makes class interesting - though she is a tough grader and some of the essays are hard, she is always available to answer questions & is there for her students. She's SO nice and I loved her funny anecdotes.

She is super sweet and is always around to help. She's a very tough grader and her essays can be complicated. You have to earn your grade you can't slack off. You have a homework assignment due every class but it helps for the essays. There are 4 essays and a final portfolio. Although the class was tough she always made it fun.

Had Verem for 105 and 106 for hybrid, amazing is the one word that I would describe her with. She made English writing interesting and she is the the nicest professor I have ever had. Class is also easy, you meet once a week in person and once online to talk on twitter, all you write is 4 pages and canvas posts.

She is an extremely tough grader, and is not the best at telling you what is actually wrong with your essay until the portfolio. Keep in mind that final grades are disabled until you receive your actual grade at the end of he semester. Her lectures are interesting to say the least.

She is a wonderful teacher. If you ask for help, she is 100% always there for you. She is a tough grader, but gives you great feedback in order to make it worth an A. She's not only a teacher, but can be your friend as well, if your having a tough time she understands and is willing to help you with anything. I took her for 105 & 106, great teacher

I absolutely loved Professor Christa! She was so nice and energetic, even with my class being at 7am. She gave excellent feedback and helped make the module essay assignments easy and personal. Be sure to hand in the assignments on time. Although she was a tough grader, I would definitely take her again if I could.

I had Professor Verem as a first-year student many years ago for both of her classes (ENWR 105&106). She was amazing then as a professor, and she still keeps in touch and supports me now as an alumnae of the school. 10/10 would recommend.

Love this professor. She is very kind and laid back. If you were to take anyone for writing take Verem. 3 papers and you can redo them. She is a tough grader on papers but you are allowed to revise them for a better grade. The homework is really simple, you just have to read and answer a few questions, do drafts for your essays.

Everyone should take Professor Verem's class. I had her for WRIT 105 and loved her class. She is extremely nice and is there for you if you need help. (She answers her emails quick too) If you have the chance to take her class, DO IT!

Christa was so much fun! She made writing interesting, even for someone like me who hates it. Course was easy and Christa is very sweet and looks out for her students. Of course, there were papers, but all other assignments were easy and sort of fun. Class was synchronous online, with a few optional in person meetings. Would 100% take her again.

This professor lives by what they said at the beginning of the course, where it would be based on effort. She is extremely helpful and cares about your needs being met. I had food poisoning and she gave me blanket flexibility for assignments. She is a fair and honest professor with energy that emanates through an async course. 100% would recommend.

Professor Verem is literally the best WRIT prof you can have. She is understanding about everything. There are few assignments but a paper that may be unclear, but just ask lots of questions! Its a different type of writing class but you discuss cool topics. If you have any thing personal going on in your life she totally understands.

Amazing prof, cares about students and is very nice. The essay topic wasnt my cup of tea, research and fairytales, making the semester long essay a little boring but she knows how to engage students. Gives lots of extra credit for participating and volunteering your work but sometimes it seems she tries to make classes too student involved. 10/10

I took her class previously online in writ105 and loved it. so you know i had to take her again for another semester! she takes the essays step by step because she cares a lot about the process than the quantity! definitely take her!! she is sweet, caring and also very pretty!! easy A if you try your best! :)

I've never been a big fan of writing, but Christa makes it somewhat enjoyable. She allowed us to write about media of our choosing which makes it easier for me to write passionately. She also is very lenient and gives a lot of extra credit opportunities so make sure to take advantage of them. She's a great choice when you inevitably take WRIT106.

she is such an amazing prof, she helped me get through literally not knowing how to write an essay outside of being taught in middle school. We have class discussions and are encouraced to talk. this call was a safe space and honestly, my favorite class this semester. Taking writing 106 next semester and i will do anything to have her be my prof

she is the absolute best, and helps you step by step in the essay writing process so that you receive the highest grade possible. cancells class during writing process to give time to brainstorm. shes great I cant say anything negative about her

OH I ABSOLUTELY ADORED HER, such a caring professor who's so incredibly understanding and patient for everything. She cares about her students so much and makes it such a safe space for everyone, talks about the importance of taking care of yourself every time!! I would definitely take her again which I am next semester !!! love her classes.

I had her for 105 and I absolutely loved her, taking her again now for 106. she cares about everyones thoughts and knows how to keep a class engaged. perfect work load. there are a lot of opportunities to make up any credit. I love writing essays in her class because the topics are always so interesting and fun to explore.

Honestly, LOVE HER! She actually wants to see her students succeed inside and outside the classroom. Always makes sure we are doing well, whether it is school-related or non-school-related. Very understanding of outside responsibilities and deadlines. Gives strong and helpful detailed feedback.
