Teaching style very bland – basically just lectures for 3 hours from the book – tests are VERY hard and often contain information not even covered in class. Doesn’t have great skill in explaining things, although if you ask for help he will try!

Tries to teach too much information in short time span. Not enough time to grasp the content and understand what you're doing. Too many chapters to study before each test. Tells you certain areas to focus on for the test, but does not cover those areas

He's weird! Throws many facts, then expects everyone to know. In fact, whenever in lecture, if a student asks a question, he'd ask him/her to ask questions at the end of class, but, by the time class comes to end, most students forget what they wanted to ask, and hence, he’s led to think he covered the material so well, it was comprehended 100%.

The problem with Bartley is for tests he will say to learn perhaps 300-400 different things, then he actually tests you on 50-60 of them. He is a really good teacher. I like him as a person as well. He is very genuine and down to earth and really does care about your grade. He LOVES to give extra credit so take advantage of that, that's literally what saved my grade this semester. His lectures are LONG and he rambles about irrelevant things at times, but what can you do.

This class is not difficult as long as you're ready to work. I put in several hours of studying before tests and score very high. Don't expect to read over the material the night before and know it. Prof. Bartley is good at explaining the material, sometimes boring and dry lectures but that's the nature of the subject. I would take again.

Professor Bartley is a good teacher. His lectures can be long/dry but if you pay attention and study, you'll get an A. He gives reviews online to look over before tests and posts all the powerpoints from lectures. If you go to all the lectures you get a 10 point extra credit bump on your grade. He answers questions and tries to help you out.

Professor Bartley was a little reminiscent of Ben Stein, very monotone. He teaches with PowerPoint presentations and sometimes recorded his lectures, although I was never able to get them to work. The only extra credit offered was 10 points if you had perfect attendance, which is unfortunate if you are unable to make it to every single class.

I didn't have so many problems as other students did and did well. The key to doing well is to read the text, maybe start with the chapter summary, and then follow along with his power point lectures and ask questions.
