This prof is the best!! He can teach stats without the use of formulas - teaches the "why" of everything and then you just have to use your own common sense!! If I can do it - anyone can! BIG ADDED PLUS!!!!! - A GREAT SENSE OF HUMOR!

Okay, people are saying that his class is a fluff class. For E2, we are doing a lot of work. There is no fluff about it. He is very willing to help you, but you still do all the work.

Okay, I know students who don't want to do the work and blame Doc Holle--you HAVE to work hard, but he gives so many different ways to earn points in his class. not just tests alone. I'd take him again anytime.

I read the other rating and yes, we had to read six chapters, but we knew it from the beginning and still wanted to take his class--he teaches us sooooo much and is funny too.

I had Prof. Holle's class my first semester of my freshman year...he made me feel comfortable in college!! His class is intresting and exciting!! I highly recommend taking his class!

It's nice to have a teacher who actually likes teaching. He's completely approachable and a really great guy. Clearly explains what he wants in regard to assignments. Also, he's hilarious and when he speaks, he really reminds me of Homer Simpson. Definitely take him.

If you don't take him you will regret it. Very Easy A. Attendance points is about 3/4 of your grade so you must show up. Funny guy, loves to pick on the 'quiet corner' A lot of notes, but tells you specifically what is on the 2 tests. No homework, no paper, no textbook! saves you money.

Easy grader, wants everyone to pass, you do have to read the book but you make up your own questions for the test which there are only 3 of. This class isnt for the strict organized type who actually cares about school. This professor is for the people who really dont care about school at all. Never took attendance,I don't think he ever checked his email. Really disorganized, He seems like a nice guy. But he's the classic tenured professor who doesnt give a crap about his students.

Was an interesting easy class yet I learned a lot. Made the 2 and a half hours of class go by fast with his funny jokes. He boosted my gpa.

Real cool and good prof. He tries to be easier than he really is but the man has rules to stick to. If you cant get a good grade here your in trouble for the future. Does everything he can to ensure that his students do well, the 2 or 3 negative comments are probably from people tightly wound who dont know learning can be fun. I do my 3.5 proves it

As a person, he's awesome. He's essentially a goofy stand-up comedian who actually makes you laugh and think about things. Other traits include respect, optimism, and honesty. I'd add "laid back," but that's also his biggest flaw. He goes on tangents often and barely teaches anything that's on his exams. Trivial facts on a lot of chapters...

Holle keeps it interesting and learned alot. Other classes I start nodding off. Pros: Awsome prof who cares and makes the boring stuff come alive. Got an A- Once I figured out I had to read the book. Cons: Sweats, paces a lot, 70% of exams on book not lect, but i knew that already, lots of quizzes, but they helped me get a good grade on the exams.

I love him hes a big teddy bear. He sweats a lot and does laps around the classroom but is a really funny guy. Lectures for about 30 minutes of class and the rest of the time is spent telling jokes and making the class laugh.. but still manages to be a good teacher and I learned a lot in his class.

Holle is a good, fun guy and you can tell he really cares about his students but in my opinion he does not teach you anything at all. Don't take history and systems of Psychology with him and Heinzen or you will regret it. Seriously.

History of system with Holle and Heinzen, it was ok, I got an A. Just come to class make sure to do the "Holle Quizzes" and listen to their inclass notes. In the midterm and final, the highest grades were in the 60's but it is not that important. The quizzes count more than the midterm and final. just listen and do good on the presentations,

Holle is a true professor. he tell you that he comes into work every day because he loves what he does, and you can honestly tell. He wants you to have fun in his class and he always looks to make people laugh. If you have no sense of humor then do not take his class. Very easy!! Helps if you ever need it, and makes class enjoyable!

OMG!!! EVERYONE knows how great Holle is. We learned so much in his class but enjoyed it at same time. He was a huge help with our group skit. I only remember him talking about sweating once, and that was to teach us about anxiety. Hes goofy but great. TAKE HIM!

I took this class at night and Holle and Heinzen team taught.Holle trie to help boost your grade as much as possible becase this class is hard. Holle will point out during his lectures what you can expect to see on the test which is helpful.The class is not the most intersting but holle really tries to keep your attention.

We had Holle last Spring. We we were the "nerdy" row on the right. As a psych major, Holle gave us lots of info to use. He only moved ONE exam up one class day we all THANKED him for it. Also, his class was not easy. We formed a study group and compared notes, which helped alot. But you HAVE to study for Holle. Great class, def will take him again.

Holle has teaching down to an art. Whatever happened to the joy of learning? It seems to have been lost along the way, but Holle has managed to save a small piece of it and carry it with him wherever he goes. I am honored to have been his student and to have had the chance to see that there can still be passion and joy and wonder in learning.

Holle is one of the few great psychology professors that I have taken at WPU. He's so empathetic and understanding. His class is easy but that's because he lets you know exactly what information is critical for E2. He has an awesome sense of humor. The only drawback of taking his class is that he gets sidetracked easily. Not always bad though.

I really enjoy his class that he teaches with Professor Heinzen. Holle is quick witted, passionate, comical, and he knows how to narrow the material down to what is important. He's very concise about that. He goes off on tangents, but then he often segues back to the material. He is very provocative and inspirational.

Professor Holle is one of the most dynamic on campus. He wants you to learn by having fun. The amount of material covered is clearly explained with silly examples that make you grasp the concepts. You'll definetely learn and have a good time. Make sure you take good notes and no need for book.

He claims to give all this extra credit but none of it really counts except movie nights and online quizzes pay attention his exams a word for word what he lectures. Nice guy though.

Maintaining a classroom's attention can be difficult if not impossible for an hour and fifteen minutes. Dr. Holle's unconventional approach to teaching does just that. He keeps you entertained whilst teaching you what you need to know for E2. I can confidently say that I was sufficently prepared for E2 thanks to Dr. Holle. Overall great guy.

This is the third time I've tried to pass this stupid class. I'll never use this stuff again in my life. But I'm finally passing thanks to Holle. If spending 20 minutes after class and all his help in class means he wants to be my friend and not a teacher then I'll take it anytime.

Very funny! Gives out a lot of extra credit. Doesn't use book. Uses powerpoints goes over but sometimes the jokes take over class time. Exams have questions that aren't reviewed. But the "dude" is a great professor after all.

Holle cares about his students and it shows. He gives you chances to make things up and will often cut you a break here and there. Hist and Systems is a combined class so keep in mind you get both him and Heinzen (who also happens to be a great professor).

He is a great professor along with Heinzen but the class isn't as easy as it seems. The online test are difficult even with a textbook. You also have to do 2 mandatory performances with groups of people who will not always cooperate and work together.

Super nice and you think the class is going to be totally easy, but you have to work to find the answers. 2 group proj.-group members may not all share in the work. Overall good!

When I saw this review below, I texted other students I knew in this class and we immdieately knew who this student was. You did nothing but argue the whole time with Holle. I sat two seats from you and I never saw you cry. If he's so bad why is everyone in our row, except for you, taking him over the summer? There is no way you got an A.

I just happened to see the recent comment on how mean Dr. Holle is. That's a joke, if anything is too nice to students. He's just a big fat puppy dog of a teacher. I took Exp. 2 after his class and his class made a big difference. I would not have gotten the good grade I got this semester if he just focused on formulas like others do.

Professor Holle is one of the few teachers that I recommend to take every class with. He's a caring professor and you will definitely walk out the class with no less than a B . He teaches you a few new things about psychology and then even a few things about his life. If you're looking for a warm professor who says I love you eveyday, he's the guy.

Dr. Holle is awesome! I had him for Gen Psych and for Experimental 1. Can easily say he is the best teacher at William Paterson. He makes the topics interesting and actually cares about how his students are doing. As long as you don't mind him going off topic a little bit and his sense of humor, you will love his class.

Taken Holle for all three classes. But Holle isnt that easy. His Gen psych exams were harder than we thought. Next, I have literally 25 to 30 pages of notes and learned a lot and used it in most of my psych classes. I love his stories they explain the facts. His tests are never pass/fail, the student who said that just shows they have no clue.

I would definitely recommend Dr. Holle to anyone taking a psych class. If you take notes while he teaches, you will do just fine. If you do not do well, it was either a lack of study or participation. He tries to keep the subjects as entertaining as possible.

Had an amazing lecture from Holle last night about Rogers, my friends and I were still talking about it after class. Holle does have haters. They sit next to us and be on their cell phones the whole time complaining they don't learn anything or they're bored. Seriously? Had to laugh when I read the review from a fellow student. I'm in the same position having to take Holle for a second time and hearing his same stories. But I forgot to do some of my quizzes and Its my own fault. He even warns us the day they are due and I still forgot. Its not Holle, hes a great teacher. Its hard to keep track of everything.

Anyone in the psych department or even taking a class in psychology, Holle is the one to take! He is the most down to earth person and he is someone who actually cares not just as a student but as a person as well. Holle is the bomb. He is understanding and committed to his students and purpose with WPU. I participated in two classes of his and if I could I would take him again. He gets some of the toughest material across in an easy and painless manner. His E1 summer course was great prep for acing E2.

At first I thought Holle was kind of annoying and corny but as time went on I really started to value him as a professor. Holle is a great professor. He ties in personal experiences to his lectures to make them more realistic for the students. He gives an opportunity for extra credit most days so it is in your best interest to try and make every class. The quizzes are on the textbook while the midterm and final are on the lecture notes. Holle is an amazing Professor. If you take him for psy2300 (History and systems of psychology) he co teaches the class with Dr. Heinzen. They take turns each week doing the lecture & they are both amazing. Holle is hilarious & wants you to do well. Attendance IS mandatory!! Online chapter quizzes and both the midterm/final are online.

Holle is the best! He was soooo helpful to us in our skit group staying after class to give us help. He gives random extra credit points if you are in class that day to reward class attendance. We would be there anyway just because it's HOLLE. Some don't understand the extra credit concept if you are not there that day you don't lose points lol.

Professor Holle is the realest professor you will encounter. His lectures are entertaining & informative. Although you are learning a lot of material he makes sure his students understand the content & helps them but you also have to show effort. Not being a psych major I didn't know much about the subject. But in just three weeks I am thinking about minoring in this because of his class. I have learned more in Holle's class than I have in any of my others. He writes down every term on the board and tells us what we need to know in our notes. I took Holle for E1 in the spring of 2020. It was my first semester at WPU & I haven't met a professor so passionate, caring, funny, and knowledgeable in a while. You will have a great time yet learn so many things. He made my first semester memorable. I have learned a lot and I am currently taking E2 and doing great thanks to Holle. TAKE HIM.

Each time I've taken a class with him, he was very clear and concise and always more than willing to help you. He cares about his students, and you can tell he is passionate about teaching!

The Dude is quite literally the best teacher i've had. He's the reason I fell in love with psychology and his class, it doesn't even feel like a chore to go to his class. I took PSY110 with The Dude during the peak of covid which didn’t stop his ways of teaching I was eager to learn from him I had the feeling of wanting to absorb every piece of information. I wish I took class with him sooner I would have followed through with a psychology minor.

The daily quizzes matter, its given at the beginning of class, and he goes over the questions after the quiz has been submitted. Taking notes is not mandatory unless you would like to pass the class.

I have taken Holle three times now, and I have learned more from him than any professor at WPU. He has a completely different way of teaching - but in a way that you are able to understand the material. He will not move on until every person understands. But you must attend class - this is not something that you can pass just by going on quizlet.

The dude is probably one of if not the best teachers at WPU. He is super understanding of his students and works with you in any way possible to ensure you pass his class. I would not take E1 with any other professor. This is my second time taking this class, and I don't know why I didn't take Holle the first time. NO MATH. And I understand what he is saying. I had this professor for multiple classes. Work included Online Discussions, Group Projects, Quizzes at the start of class, Textbook reading, essays, research, presentations, class participation, etc There was also a lot of opportunities for extra credit or making-up, as well as some leniency with grading and submissions. Funny and fun lectures.

I would def try to not miss E1. This is a math class, keep in mind, so you don't want to fall behind. But, for a math class, Holle makes you understand it. And if you're confused, ask questions, he will help you. Don't use chat for quizzes. Use the notes he gives you because that's what is on your quiz. I would 1000% rec. Holle for any class at WPU

in all honesty if he didn't offer experimental 1 statistics I probably would have failed out by now. When visiting during office hours he was able to clarify premises in statistics that would have caused me heavy amounts of confusion if taught by other professors.

Dr. Holle's class for Experimental Psychology is one of the best courses on campus at William Paterson University. I am so thankful for how much he cares about his students.
