Would take again

Took Chem 2 over summer with Professor Tang, and shes an excellent professor. Very knowledgeable about the subject matter, and is always available to students who don't fully grasp the concepts. She gives out EC to students who attend most of her lectures, and will work through troubling problems that you may face along the way. Definitely take!

Doesnt know her own material and always gets flustered if you ask her to clarify something, in which she just repeats herself and tells you to review outside of class.

I took Chem 2 with Dr. Tang in the summer. The class material was tough, but Dr. Tang provided various chances for extra credit which really helped. She also clarified a lot during office hours. Love this professor!

Dr. Tang knows the material well, but she goes through lectures very fast. However, this is to be expected from a Gen. Chem. I professor, and Dr. Tang takes the time to answer questions during lectures too which is nice. She also provides extra credit opportunities too after each exam, and her grades are capped at a limit so it's easy to get an A.

I love Dr. Tang! Her lectures are fast, but she explains well. Her office hours are very helpful and if you cannot make her office hours, I would highly suggest going to office hours be appointment! By going to office hours she will quickly become your friend!

Tan is a great lecturer but she goes very fast and if you cant understand her accent its kinda difficult to follow along. She gives plenty of opportunities for clickers though and if the whole class does terrible on a question she makes sure to go back and figure out what most of us did wrong. She gives a lot of material to help prepare for tests

I think that shes a great teacher. She talks really fast so its a little hard to follow her at first but you get used to it eventually. I recommend sitting in the front row bc shes always asks us if we need any help. Overall I really liked her

She is great at explaining concepts and she doesn't just read off of the Powerpoint. When a concept or math is being explain she always goes over a practice example and then a clicker. She uses real life examples and is funny.

Tang was a good choice for gen chem, but she talks super fast to get through the slides so we don't fall behind. Attendance is mandatory with clicker so be aware of that. The tests were based off the slides, we had a free online book that we never used. Extra credit was given after each exam. Peer leading every friday but you could miss up to 2

Very nice and helpful professor. She does go quickly during the lectures, but she posts them online if you can't keep up. Opportunities to raise your grade and she posts study material for the tests as well.

She's an awesome teacher. She speaks really fast so skim through the book before lecture. Then as she goes through her slides follow along with the book since you dont get the slides until after lecture. Her slides go hand &hand with the book. Do all your HW, PL and Clickers if you get 100/150 in three term exams & 150/250 (final) you will get a B.

Pro. Tang is the best Chem teacher I have ever had. She has a strange accent which will make her kinda difficult to understand for the first few days. However, she makes lecture really easy to understand by pictures or 3D models, though she go quite fast. If you want an A, you will have to go do the homework and peer leading sections.

Tang did good for a first year professor but needs more experience teaching. Not the best when it comes to explaining things but of you talk to her one-on-one she will make sure you understand any confusions in the course.

Tang was a great professor for Gen Chem 1. She does go very fast through her lectures but they are always available through canvas if anything was missed and she is easily contactable if anything comes up. She Will work with you to make sure you understand and is very enthusiastic about her subject and has a great sense of humor. She was wonderful.

This is General Chemistry, so expect to study for the class. There are extra worksheets available that are similar to questions asked on the tests. Attendance is not mandatory, but this class did use clickers, so it is worthwhile to attend the lectures. She covers material fairly quickly; don't expect to have time to handwrite every word in class.

Great prof! Office hours are superrrr helpful and she caps the clickers and homework. Textbook isnt a must but do the weekly practices that she posts. Definitely would recommend!

Tang is a good teacher except there are better chemistry teachers on campus. The professors all give the same tests and I think Tang is not the best at explaining compared to others.

great professor, 10/10 recommend, goes quickly though so i don't recommend writing everything down during class. the powerpoints are posted online so try listening to her in class and you can review the slides after

Only one homework a week and simple in class clickers that are capped every before every exam. The slides are your source of notes, no textbook is used. Make sure to prepare for exams by answering weekly practices and exam reviews. Not the fastest responder to emails but will eventually get to you. Definitely would take again!

Come to class, answer some clickers, take a few notes and leave. She cares about what she does and is willing to go back or answer anything you need - while making puns on the side. The clickers are attendance, and even if you get them wrong it's 2 points if correct and 1 if not. The notes are online so honestly, you're OK to just sit and relax.

Professor Tang is great. She does go through slides a little fast, but you get used to it pretty quickly. The grading is very fair. My advice: actually pay attention in class. She explains throughly and if you listen, youll have a much easier time studying and the slides are posted on canvas after. Great professor and you can tell she really cares!

Professor Tang is the chemistry professor that you want. Her lectures go by pretty fast, but she uses the iClicker to have class participation, which actually does help you stay involved throughout her lecture. Peer Leading, online weekly homework and Test are what develop your grade. I recommend her if its your first time taking chem.

This was my second time taken Chem. 1, since my first professor was trash. Professor Tang teaches and not just go through the powerpoint just to say she did a class. She makes sure all the students understand the clicker point help you as well. This class is not a class you can slack off, STUDY and FOCUS when taking Chemistry and you will do well.

The best way to learn the material for this class is to go to class everyday. She explains fast but I promise you will get used to it very soon. Definitely, go to her office hours and introduce yourself because she will remember you and you will not just be another face in the lecture hall. I look forward to taking Chem. 2 with her in the fall!

Professor Tang is really patient if you're confused on a certain area. Her lectures can be fast but you get used to it cause she gives clickers in class to check if you understood what was taught. Her homeworks are also really helpful. I chose her again for chem II. Also, make use of her office hours. They're really helpful.

Professor Tang is a great chemistry professor and she does a fantastic job of making sure the course material is easy to understand. She posts all of her lectures on canvas which is great for looking back on, and she posts lots of helpful review guides for all of the course chapters. Tang was not a bad professor overall but she does talk really fast so taking notes was almost not an option. It all depends on how good you are at learning outside of class or if you have a good foundation of chemistry. But, if you do the clicker questions and work it is almost impossible to not pass.

Love Tang! So many opportunities to earn points and the grading scale makes it super easy to pass due to it being a point system. Clicker questions are a huge chunk of the grade so you have to go to most lectures. Lectures are very helpful and make studying easy. Only con is that she goes pretty fast and does not give much time to answer clickers.

Dr. Tang was probably the best teacher I have ever dealt with. She makes herself super accessible to help you. If you bring your homework's to her she will help you work through them. She truly makes the course as easy as it could be and gives as many possibilities as she can for points to boost your grade.

She cares a lot about her students and is super sweet. Her lectures are understandable and coherent. She always asks if anyone has questions before continuing during lecture. Do the weekly practices she posts on canvass and the homework they are a lot like the test questions (learning objective practices are good too).

Dr. Tang is an awesome professor. Her course is extremely well organized, and she is very caring and wants nothing but the best for her students. Tang would always go through her lectures at the speed of light (figuratively speaking). However, she was always very nice and was very accessible outside of class. She would also take the time to thoroughly explain difficult concepts during office hours, and made herself available for one-on-one appointments as well. Very solid professor.

Yea her lectures are fast, but just follow along with the slides and study using the huge list of weekly test prep and you should at minimum get an A if you use all the resources. This is thankfully a prof and a class that definitely puts in the work so you can get an A if you look at the huge list of resources.

Took her my first semester and she was great! Because of how classes are designed in the chem department, tests are very important. She really tries to get you as many points as possible by capping homework, peerlead and iclicker scores. The only reason I wasn't able to get an A is because the final exam was much more difficult than anticipated.

As someone who hated chem in high school and failed, this class actually wasnt that bad, theres so much room to get a good grade, and the test arent that bad if you actually study. I ended up getting an A and im very average at chemistry so even if youre not good at science dont let this class scare you

I love tang. I took her for Chem 1 and 2. Chem1 was much easier. Chem 2 requires much more info to remember and math. However, just as long as your take notes before class of her powepoints, do your homework and just pay attention you would be just find. Her grade scale is beyond easy just to pass.

Such a sweet and amazing professor! Definitely learned so much because of her clear dedication towards teaching. Attendance is graded via clicker points, but is organized in a way that gives you room to miss some classes. There is homework every week and the workload increased when we switched to remote learning. I would highly recommend her.

Dr. Tang is the best professor Ive had USF. She is the most understanding and compassionate prof they couldve hired to teach Chem 1 and Chem 2. I had her for both sections and finished both with an A. Her lectures are clear and I feel like she does a great job at explaining them further. She also always takes questions and will do reviews.

Took general chemistry ii over Summer B 2020 and had to take this entire course online. The lectures weren't hosted over zoom calls and were pre-recorded. Lectures had good examples of the types of questions that would be on the exams.

She is an okay professor. Definitely better than other chem teachers at USF. The only downside is that she moves VERY fast. The class is test heavy but not at all hard. The textbook is available online but is not used for the class.

The best Chem professor ever! She is a little fast but she really cares about you passing! She was always there to help in the library and during office hours! She was super sweet and easy to pay attention to! Personally, I didn't think the class itself was hard but that is all set up by the Chem department, not her. Do the work, you'll be fine.

I LOVE Dr. Tang! She's sooo sweet and I wake up early just to attend her office hours and have a chat. She is very approachable and helps chem be accessible and enjoyable to all. She also uses a free online textbook, so you save $, and she gives a fair amount of grading leeway (ie. being able to retake quizzes) and have buffer points on assignment

From a student who had no concrete knowledge of chemistry before this course, I've learned so much. Her lectures are thorough and she really cares about your grades. Homework is due every Thursday. Quiz every Friday. Tests are honestly easier than the HW and quizzes. She also provides so many resources for you to study. Just put time and effort!

Dr. Tang is a wonderful professor at USF. I took her online due to Covid, but she really made the class easier for us. Only one homework and quiz due each week. She is very passionate about her job, and she wants you to succeed in her class. Textbook is free, and not really mandatory. You will have to work for your grade though.

I enjoyed taking Chem 1 with Dr. Tang! She's so sweet and understanding. She makes chemistry seem a little easier than what you may think of it. Her lectures are really helpful, and the textbook is just a PDF, so you save $$! As long as you put in the time and effort to practice and study for all the exams, you should do very well!

Dr. Tang made Chem 1 manageable. There is one 10 question homework and one 5 question quiz each week. The lectures are prerecorded to be done on your own time and they're very clear and helpful. This class is definitely hard but put in the work and you will see the results.

I was so nervous about chemistry before taking Dr. Tang's class since I learned pretty much nothing in my high school chemistry class. I feel so much more confident about chemistry now because of her. She provides so many learning resources and opportunities to receive help. I did so much better in her class than I thought. Has a very straightforward schedule for when HW and quizzes are due every week. She even says the HW and quizzes are harder than the tests. To pass this class with an A please be consistent! Don't just memorize how to do the math calculations but apply it to the concepts to easily understand th better. Tang has been the best teacher this past year.

Dr. Tang is great. Her lecture notes are good, even though she goes pretty fast and I have to pause the lectures a lot. Her office hours are helpful for test review. The content itself isn't too challenging, but the tests are extremely difficult and I found them to not 100% match up with what I was studying like there was some weird disconnect.

I took her course online and there are 4 tests including a cumulative final. Tang is very kind and caring, every Friday during her office hours she would record them and do practice problems. Recorded lecture on Monday, Homework due on Monday, quiz due on Tuesday, and live peer leading session on Wednesday

I was scared about inorgo, but from the start, Dr. Tang made me feel at ease. She is a phenomenal professor with lots of knowledge. Her tests come from lecture material only and are VERY fair. Your grades reflect the amount of time you put into studying. She cares about her students a lot, I wish I could take more classes with her!

Without a doubt, Dr. Tang has been a really great professor. I was scared to take Chemistry as many people gave it a bad rep, but Dr. Tang truly changed that. She is very caring and wants her students to succeed. This course is not easy unless you put in the work and be proactive. Attend her office hours and study often and you'll do fine.

Inorganic Chem is an insanely difficult course however Dr. Tang makes it so much easier. Very generous grading scale and lots of extra credit on exams. If you have the chance, don't take inorganic as your upperlevel elective but if you have to, take it with Tang.

Be ready to teach yourself chemistry if you are taking it with tang. It is very hard to understand her lectures, her PowerPoint slides were useless they didnt help whatsoever. She barely responds to emails.

She gives you many opportunities to understand the content (homework, quizzes, recorded practices and recorded office hours). If you fail this class it has to be your own fault. CHM2046 is rigorous, but Professor Tang's teaching is a lifesaver.

Dr. Tang is a nice professor. But the course is graded completely on in-term exams (60%) and the final which is (40%). There is no quiz, no homework, etc which will make you work really hard to pass this course. I had A+ during the whole semester but since the final holds a great chunk of the overall course percentage, I ended up getting an A-.

Very kind professor; she will take the time to help you if you need it. I absolutely loved her (fast-paced*) lectures; the scheduling for her class was perfect for a student who doesn't have much time. If you have good study habits, you will do fine. She is always accessible and will help greatly when needed. I recommend her.

I took Dr. Tang for CHM2045 and I loved her online class format so much and took her again for CHM2046. You'll definitely have to work harder for this class since there is a lot of new concepts, but some are derived from CHM2045. She gave us a quiz and a hw assignment every week, and some remotely proctored assessments here and there. Practice!!!!

This woman is the definition of information overload. The summer class is brutal if you take it you'll only have time for it. The lectures she posts she rambles on for a total of 6 hours a week they are long and probably should be refined. The entire class got like a 66 average on the first exam, however she did give everyone 13 EC points.

Love love love Dr. Tang! Had her for CHM2045 AND 2046, and she's the only reason I even got A's in both. Amazing, thorough lectures, lots of practice with quizzes and HW, and the tests are pretty good if you study the content. Peer leading was a gr8 resource too. Love her teaching style for Fall/Spring and would recommend to anyone taking Chem.

Professor Tang is a brilliant professor and a wonderful human being. Her summer class is hard but she cares about her students so she offers extra credit to compensate. I accidentally submitted one of her assignments late and despite having a no late submission policy she waived it through. She really cares about her student's success.

I took Dr. Tang for CHM 2045 + 2046 and I enjoyed her online classes. She posted the lecture the morning of your class day. Every week she had one homework and one quiz which were bases on the lectures. I recommend going over the chapter reviews before the test and take the study guide seriously cause they were pretty similar.

Dr. Tang is incredible! Chemistry is not an easy course by any means but Tang wants her students to succeed in the course. Summer A is extremely fast paced and so she offered a lot of extra credit to compensate for the speed - which I am thankful for. Don't skip out on lectures is the best advice; it's the only way you'll learn the material.

Took her last semester for Summer then took Chem 2 with another professor. Her course was much more forgiving and organized. I suggest if you plan to take Chem 1 and 2 at USF look out for her name. The difference is night and day. She's awesome!

With the way her class is set up, it is very easy to make 100s on every section of your grade because of how many extra points she offers (homework, participation, etc.). The only exception to this is the exams which also all have a 10 point curve. She does move very fast for some people though.

Please please take Dr. Tang if you are going into chem 1 or 2. She is absolutely incredible!!! I could not be happier with a professor, especially for such an intense subject. She is so sweet and caring and just has the most positive attitude. My advice is to watch the lectures and go to office hours if you have any questions. She's the best.

She is super sweet and knowledgeable but sometimes she is going way too fast. Skips through her slides and then gives 30 seconds for a clicker question. I wouldnt recommend to people who never took chemistry. Her exam reviews are awesome though.

I had Dr. Tang for chem 2045 and it was an AMAZING class. Grade is based on sections which are capped and are EXTREMELY easy to get 100's on. Caps exams 150/160 so you can get a good grade even if you miss some, just make sure you do ALL of the practices she posts, they're the same problems. She is great, a very easy A!

Dr. Tang is amazing! Super sweet and class was not too difficult. If you attend the lectures and take notes, then you should easily pass. The week practices helped and attending the peer led sessions helped. There's a textbook, but I didn't use it. You do have to pay to use the clicker app though.

Dr. Tang is an amazing professor actually wanted to take again for chem 2 but all the spots were filled. She is very fast paced during her lectures however she always goes back and re-explains if you miss something. You need to actually attend lectures to pass this class though, miss even one day and you'll fall very behind.

I loved having Dr. Tang for CHM 2045. However, not so much for CHM 2046. My section had lecture on Mondays and peer-led sessions on Wednesdays, instead of lecture on both days like in CHM 2045. Because of this, she rushed through lectures. The exams had questions I we did not practice in class, which made it difficult to score well.

Something changed in Chem II her lectures were pretty basic stuff the posted learning objectives and worked practices that were supposed to help you prepare for the exam were not very helpful. I love her as a professor! She is welcoming to questions and explains the material super well. Attendance isn't mandatory, but she does iClicker questions during lecture that count towards your grade. The only complaint I have would be that she goes through the slides super quickly, so be prepared to do some note taking before/after class.

Great person but unreasonable tests. Reads off powerpoint and speaks very fast with no explanations. Tests do not reflect material learned in class. She is a great professor this class is an easy a if you pay attention and do her reviews/ practices. She gives some extra credit, does iclicker questions, gives A LOT of practice problems that are similar to test, she records lectures, not too much homework, has 3 tests and 1 final. Overall great teacher.

This is my second time taking Dr. Tang and I couldn't recommend her more. Take notes on all the practice problems, attend office hours, and do the learning objectives and test review and you should be good for the tests. She is very kind and understanding and even throws in some freebie clickers and surveys!

As someone who is terrible in Chemistry she really is amazing and passable. If you take anyone you need to take her. Chemistry isn't easy but she makes is manageable.

Dr Tang is truly an amazing and caring prof, and even tho material gets pretty heavy, she really does a great job at trying to break it all down. Do not rely heavily on power points solely, tho, and make sure you solve all the problems from prep tests she gives, and attend all peer-leading sessions, they are really helpful!

Professor tang is very helpful if you do not understand a concept. 3 exams and a final, plus weekly hw. The course is heavy on learning formulas, so taking notes and practicing is very important. I wished she gave more practice problems.

Professor Tang is an amazing and caring chemistry instructor. While the material can be challenging, she makes it manageable with helpful lectures, practice problems, and study sessions. unstuck ai was a great supplement for my test prep.

Professor Tang is about as great as they come in STEM. She was truthfully one of the kindest and most sincere professors I have ever had. Provides plenty of resources for students to succeed and weekly peer-leading where she and upperclassman assist with difficult problems that will in some capacity show up on the exam.Dr Tang is the absolute best!

Dr. Tang was my first professor as a freshman. It was so fun two years back, and I only used to like morning classes because of her. My grade dropped significantly due to attendance, so make sure you don't miss classes or recitations. She's so kind; I remember she emailed me and checked on me about my progress when I was ill.

Class was iclicker questions, peer led, 2 hws per week, and 3 tests + final & 1 extra credit question per test. She was a very good teacher and cares deeply about her students. Her lectures are very easy to understand. She's a very kind professor overall. You'll likely be fine with whatever teacher, but she's great and would definitely take again.

Dr. Tang is amazing. Very nice and explains her slides nicely. Many examples are given in class and they help bunches. There are clicker questions but they honestly help your grade. I have never understood chemistry this well but she is so good at teaching it! there are no test drops but tests are an easy pass w/. study guide!!

Her lectures are amazing and the clicker questions she gives in class translates to test questions. If you do the learning objectives and the practice exam, it will be impossible to fail. She is a caring instructor, and is easily reachable outside of class through email and office hours. If I could take her for every chem class I take, I would.

Sweetest teacher ever. Sometimes will do clicker questions about how we're feeling, even gave a girl flowers from her own garden once. Easily accessible outside of class and never makes you feel stupid. Could not recommend her enough

Very sweet professor who takes her time going through everything and will genuinely help you personally during peer leadings. Her analogies also make a lot of sense and it will take a moment to properly comprehend them, but defo snag her for chem 2 if you can I enjoy her a lot!

shes a nice and sweet lady, she records her lectures and posts them which i think is amazing especially for chem. her only prblm would be not responding to emails. i would send follow ups and wait like 3 weeks for a response but i got nothing. another thing is she kinda explains things weird sometimes but its not too bad. id take her again for sure

Mrs. Tang is a great chem teacher. She is super nice and is willing to help students. The exams are exactly like the study guide and learning objective handout. If you excel at math you will have no problem. She teaches fast so make sure to come to class and pay attention. She provides the materials to succeed. The hardest exam is exam 2.

Dr. Tang is such as sweet and caring lady. She is super willing to help you if you're struggling and answers emails fast. She does go through lectures pretty fast, but all of it is recorded and posted to canvas.

Dr. Tang is truly fantastic! She does a great job of explaining the complex topics within Gen Chem II, and she provides a lot of practice material for you to be successful on tests. A thing to note is that she does talk very quickly throughout lectures, which can make it challenging at times to fully comprehend. Other than that, she is amazing!

Genuinely had a terrible experience with this professor. I had serious health issues, and when I obtained my SAS accommodations, she never responded or applied the additional help. She never responded to any of my emails explaining my ailments either. She was just genuinely not the "kind" and "responsive" professor that everyone else had.

She's a fine professor, honestly, I think all the gen chem professors are fine. However, I hate her lecture notes. I find them messy compared to my Gen Chem 1 notes. If that doesn't bother you, though, she's great and has a similar teaching style to Ratliff just messy notes.

Although lectures are not mandatory, there are iclicker questions that do affect grade, so you have to go to lecture to get those points. Going to the lectures are essential to doing well in her class. She does record the lectures for you to listen back to or use to review. She is very easy to reach outside of class and responds quickly to emails.

Dr. Tang is an excellent professor. She is engaging in class and is very good at explaining the content. The class is fast-paced since there is so much content to cover, so missing a lecture can put you behind. It can be hard to keep up, but all the lectures are posted online. Very little homework too. Overall highly recommend Dr. Tang!

Tang is a wonderful teacher who truly cares about her students. She explains concepts clearly and offers plenty of chances to meet after class for help. The only challenge is the exams (the average for the final was an F), since she doesn't write them it makes studying harder. Still, the point-based grading system helps you earn a good grade.

Professor Tang is incredibly sweet and knowledgeable. She explains things well without making anyone feel dumb for not understanding the first time. There is a lot of extra credit throughout the course. She genuinely wants you to learn instead of caring about the grade.

Very sweet. To do well in this class, do the worksheets given during discussions; very useful practice they are. Additionally, practice exams are pretty similar to the actual exam. Averages are pretty low (especially for the final) but if you build a solid foundation early on, it shouldn't be too difficult. Elementary algebra skills are a must.
