He's an excellent and friendly professor. The course itself is very hard, as all BUS360 courses are,but it helps to have a good prof as Venhuizen. He keeps things interesting with lots of stories. You really have to work hard in this course, no slacking, and practice! practice! practice! on your writing.

He's really nice and willing to help students if they need it. He's not a marker but TA, so if you want to get high grade, go find your TA and ask him/her. This course looks tough, but it's very fun and enjoyable class. You don't pick your own group but he will assign you a group. Good Luck everyone! Overall He's awesome!

Awesome Prof. My writing skill has really improved after this class. It is one of the most useful class I took in SFU. The course itself is tough with some serious workload. It is high recommended for those joint majors who wants to improve their business communication skills.

This course is the most anal course in your BBA career. Yes, it'll be helpful, but the process is very painful. Do EXACTLY as you're instructed to; any less or more and you won't be getting a good grade. Start VERY EARLY on EVERYTHING. I'm 200% sure last minute work will KILL you, especially REVISIONS! Aside from that, Christian is nice, but tough.

If you are not proficient in the english language and don't have good grammar, don't bother taking this course-you'll only make yourself and your teammates suffer. Christian is one of the best professors I have ever had: helpful, hilarious, clear and dedicated. The class was a lot of work, but it was not very hard (in my opinion). If you are not good with correct usage of the English language, and the basic concepts of grammar trip you up, you will NOT have fun in this course. Good luck!

Christian is one of the best professors I have had at SFU. His lectures are easy to understand and he always does his best to keep things interesting. His expectations are crystal clear, which makes it possible to do very well in his class. I found him to be a fair marker and would definitely recommend him for BUS 360W.

This course was way easier than I had expected. Follow his guidelines carefully, visit his office hours for revisions, and take this course seriously. If you do just that, you will easily get a B+A-. However, if your grammatical skills are weak, don't expect to get higher than a C+.

Despite what all the other ratings say, Christian really does want his students to do well. Be willing to put in the effort, and do exactly what the corrections say! Most of the marks are from revisions, so follow his suggestions and you'll do well. Since this is a writing course, you need to have a good understanding of the English language.

Christian can be a tough marker but is very nice and funny in class. His teaching style is easy going and he's shown he himself has an interest in business. His assignments are interesting and the class was engaging. The exams were fair.

Great professor very understanding with clear cut expectations. Turns long lectures into an interactive environment so that you aren't bored out of your mind. There's weekly online quizzes and occasional in class assignments but nothing too difficult as long as you do the readings.

Alright. Let's get straight to the point. Professor V is a tough marker, but the course is a bell curve so everyone is in the same boat (which makes like no difference). He's a cool-ass dude and perhaps one of the most APPROACHABLE profs in SFU. He's not antisocial like many profs. Take your time and meet this guy! You're missing out on a bunch!

Despite the 3-hour lectures and the material being mostly common sense, I found myself enjoying the course thanks to Christian. He's a very good speaker and made the material interesting; he's clear about expectations for tests and assignments. He encourages participation and doesn't shoot down students' ideas. Beware of long HBR articles though.

BUS360 is a demanding course and requires sufficient time for assignments. Christian provides direct feedback on deliverables, which can help you bump up your grades on subsequent assignments. Hilarious and personable. The course isn't as hard as people make it out to be, but it does require some effort. Go see Christian and the TA for feedback, apply it, repeat. They want you to improve and tell you how. Office hour slots fill up fast.

Christian is a great prof during his lectures as he makes the class really engaging even though it's 3 hours. Chapter readings are a lot and his grading scheme is sooo petty. He took off 3 marks just because someone didn't cite something properly. His tests are a lot to memorize (but that's like all 201 classes)

Christian is a very laid back and funny prof, however, a tough marker. The class basically just goes over reading so they're not that useful, but tutorial attendance is mandatory. He made long lectures more fun with jokes and different activities we would do in class.

Christian is definitely a difficult marker, but if you stick to the grading rubric, you'll be just fine. I recommend getting to know him and building a relationship with him. I find that he chooses class favourites (especially in my Bus201 class), and may even treat you better depending... All in all, solid prof.

Christian is an amazing person who makes a 3-hour lecture fly by with his engaging lectures. Make sure to be on top of readings and answer assignments with as much detail as possible. Yes, his marking is difficult especially for a first-year course, but this is a professor who you will learn from.

Christian makes a three-hour lecture engaging and entertaining, despite mostly repeating what the textbook says. He is a tough marker, however the course is curved and can raise your grade. While he does tend to favor certain students in lectures, he emphasizes a system of fairness in his class with respect to seeking help and with grades.

This prof goes above and beyond for students. Tough class but no better person to take it with. This was his announcement during COVID-19 "If you need food to get you through a few days, let me know what you need and where & when I can drop it off. No questions asked; no need for discussion or repayment". Really shows what kind of person he is.

Definitely enjoyed my experience in this class. Christian is a dedicated professional and one of the best profs I have had at Beedie. The course is hard but your grade is predicated on your own improvement, and the resources are there in order to get better and score higher. 100% recommend taking this course with Christian.

I loved taking this class with Christian. He wants to see each of the his students succeed and cares about everyone. A large part of the course depends on your group so take the time and give well thought out answers for the personal survey as this is how he chooses the groups. Stay on top of the assignments and see him in office hours.

Great teacher and very nice, learns every students name and very accessible outside of class. Course gave simple overview of each subject of business, great introductory. 3 hour lecture was too long for subject but first hour was dedicated to current business events, attendance isn't mandatory so you don't have to stay. Would take again for sure!

Super good guy loves chatting with his students. The online class was a really fun and chill atmosphere. Not too much homework, just weekly readings of about 25 pages in the textbook and then an open book 10 question quiz to do before each lecture.

Christian is a strict grader but all BUS360 profs are, at least Christian clearly communicates his reasonable expectations. He cares a lot about his students and likes to engage with them. Lectures are fun and he tries to make them as engaging as possible. Overall an amazing prof, but not an easy class.

The comprehensive exam had a lot of tricky multiple-choice questions. A really good BUS 201 professor, but be ready to fight for your mark as this class is curved.

Took BUS 201 and BUS 360 with Christian. One of the best professors at Beedie. I always look forward to going to his lectures because they are so engaging. He genuinely cares about the learning of his students, and you will learn a lot. If you follow his advice, follow the instruction, and go to office hours, you will get a good grade.

This includes prereading materials before class, taking notes, paying attention to assignments and course guidelines, and CONSTANT improvement. Do not go into the course expecting it to be easy. He is super difficult but you will learn a lot. I was super stressed during the semester and was praying for his downfall, but looking back, I gained a lot from his high expectations. Just be ready to spend a lot of time on assignments and don't worry too much about individual grades, he notices improvement. Just go to office hours it helps

Christian will provide you with very detailed feedback; if you meet with him or TAs via office hours, you will be very likely to succeed.
