I found that she was a great teacher. She was challenging, but I definitely learned a lot in her class. Also, she was helpful after class when someone had a question and it seemed that she enjoyed teaching this class.

I don't know who would think she is a **** teacher or a bad teacher..need to pass the exit exam to pass this class. no matter what teacher you are taking! THe whole semester she tries to have the entire class pass the exit. I would highly recommend her, very dedicated!

Christie rocks...I loved her so much that I would take her class again just for fun...She is really hot and when she would look at me, I would get really turned on...This one time she touched my leg and I almost busted one in her face....wow i would DO her class over and over again...It was awesome.

She is good but she some times uses her call for her political agenda dint like that. There was some random stuff we did but it wasn't bad. Overall she was good.

this teacher really cares about women's issues but she doesnt really prepare you for 205 if u need to take that. She missed a lot of classes too. she graded the research papers differantly then everything else and was unclear on a lot, most ppl were unhappy with the grade they got. if u need eng 205 i wouldnt recomend her, u won't be ready for it.

Great teacher! We talked a lot about current issues such as gender, ethnicity, corporations, etc. It was really interesting. Only 5 papers, 2 in-class. Each only 2-3 pages long. Research project was a Zine. Nice woman! I recommend taking her class!

Cristie is just an excellent teacher. She really cares about her students and wants everyone to get an A in her class, therefore she is an easy grader. Easy A if you do everything she tells you to do. 5 essays and no quizzes, no tests, with the exception of the 2 in-class essays which where also easy. Take her, you won't regret it.

She's a great teacher who always likes to smile, she was very clear in her instructions even though some just weren't listening and assumed she didn't tell them anything. overall she's a great teacher and im sad that her class was full for Enlgish 101

This class is what you should expect from an English class: lots of writing! But it's very manageable & she is very helpful. Some schedule changes here & there, but you still know what to expect. Grading is mainly on essays and 1 research project at the end, which was a pretty fun project - I got a lot out of it. Liked the book. Came out with an A.

Professor Allred is sooo helpful. I took ENG 51 before and got an F, especially since I have a lot of trouble with writing. She is willing to accomodate to you as long as you are willing to put in the effort. I would definitely recommend that you take her.

Christie is awesome. Most of her work is based off assigned readings. Provides constructive criticism on all your essays. Praises your work if you did a good job. She's very happy and cheerful and wants you to have fun in her class. Doesn't stick to her agenda all the time, like any normal professor, but its not that serious.

she is very nice. but her grading was tough. no rewriting. very limited extra credit. youll learn a lot in her class.

easy "A" or "B" if you do all the assignments, essays and read the assign chapters. there's a few quizzes on the reading but it's easy. nice professor, recommend it to anyone

Great professor, pretty simple class. You have a 5 total take-home essays and 2 in-class essays for the midterm and final. She wants you to succeed and is willing to help you if you need it. Requires you to meet with her twice during the semester about grades so that you know where you're at. She cares, and that seems uncommon with profs nowadays

christie is great. super cool and down to earth. understanding and actually listens to you. show her the respect she deserves and she will show it back.

This class was extremely easy. Five essays total and two are in class essays. I personally found the class discussions very boring but as long as you do the assigned work, you will do well. You will discuss California issues in great detail and you have a group projects that's due at the end of the semester that is worth a large part of your grade

She is very cool but extremely hard at grade. In the whold semester, we only got 1 extra credit 10 point/ 400 point total. She grade base on gramma so why dont do grammar test or quiz, it may help me learn better at grammar. You try so hard and she alway say same thing at the end. She cool teacher but I rather go somewhere else to learn

She made the assignment very easy to understand. All you have to do is read the books and articles she assigns and then just discuss them in class. There are a lot of group activities during class so it isn't so boring.

One of the best English teachers I ever had. She definitely loves her job and helping students out. Most of the work is based on the test books and hw is very simple. As long as you get Bs on the essays you will pass the class. She loves to give Extra Credits! Take her classes!

She Is A Loving Mother Who Cares About Her Kids And Will Cancel Class Frequently For Conferences And Other Things. Ive Already Missed 3-4 Classes And It Doesnt Affect My Learning At All. You Have One PPT Presentation And Have To Read 2 Novels But Its Not A Lot Of Work If You Put Effort Into It And Dosent Make It Seem As "Advanced". Good Prof!!!

Great professor! Teaches the basics you need to be able to survive in college. ALL college papers will require the skills you learn from her. YOU do NOT use a textbook, she is wanting to save money and uses online resources. You have two small books to read throughout the semester though. SO GLAD I had her & want her for Eng101.

Such a nice lady!! She's clear on what she wants and how she wants things done. Really helpful! 1 book, a few articles, 5 essays (3 take home, 2 in-class). So chill and understanding. Helps you prepare for the portfolio. Cancels class a few times throughout the semester in order to have mandatory conferences with all her students. Uses blackbaord.

I took this class being a non-English speaker, or at least not as my first language and it was pretty easy to follow, she is really understandable about her grading and she will help you with grammar and other aspects of your essay, she is really sweet and will always be there to help you, I would take another class with her again

LOVE HER! I took her as my 1st English teacher at Mesa and she is by far one of the best! She is so kind and understanding. Easy class just turn in all of your essays and make sure you ask for help so that you get a good grade! 3 take home 2 in class timed & 1 book. Cancels class to have individual appointments w all students.

Professor Allred is a very good professor. She truly cares about how her students are doing. Get ready to write in Eng49. There were about 2-3 essays to write. One of those essays was in class. The semester we also read two books and had quizzes on them. This class will definitely help you before taking Eng101. Great way to start Eng in college.

She is an awesome teacher! Super easy class and there was ALWAYS extra credit. The class consists of 3 essays and a few short articles that you make into a magazine for the final. Grades very lenient! Also, you read a book on the justice system & discuss it. The book was ok but the issue itself was disturbing. I highly recommend her class!

Shes the best English professor at Mesa College. The only English class I had that was not stressful even though English is my second language. She cares about her students and always willing to help. You will make progress in her class, and you will enjoy doing your magazine. I wish if she teaches E 205.

Used 1 book, (Outliers I bought it for $7). She's really sweet/caring, will work with you & WANTS you to understand the basics of writing a college paper. She also teaches 101 so she wants you to be prepared for 101. Reason you MUST go to class is because due dates change all the time and if you don't go you might fall behind. In my opinion easy A

She's such a sweet and caring human being! As a teacher, she really has a lot of patience with her students and gives good feedback on the papers. Some assignments are a little repetitive, but it was OK to me. She gives A LOT of extra credit opportunities, I recommend you to take them. Overall, great class!

Very caring professor and is willing to do all she can to help you out. You'll be writing a lot of short summaries/essays on the chapters of the book you're reading, a lot of analysis essays, and a final project that you'll present. Overall it isn't that bad. She offers a plethora of extra credit in various forms to help out anyone who wants it.

Prof Allred is one of the MOST amazing profs I've met during my 3 years of college. She inspires you to write, even when you don't think you can! The assignments and material made the class so interesting, I definitely enjoyed every assignment that was given. As well, she is incredibly understanding and kind. I wish I could take her class again!!

Professor Allred is a great professor and really cares about her students. I took her Engl 101 & 205 class and got an A in both. As long as you do the work and put in your best effort, you should do well in the class. Workload isn't heavy at all. After writing an essay she will give you a break from assignments to focus on your mental health.

Fabulous professor who is so caring and very understanding o-f the every-day student's needs. She is aware that each student has their own life outside of the classroom and allows extra time for assignments if need be. She is a very kind and loving professor, as well as the biggest ally for BLM, LGBTQIA+, etc. Overall, she is the best! :) (ENG 205)

I took this course online but I wish I had in person. Professor Allred is amazing. She is flexible, caring and so encouraging. Very safe space to learn with inclusive and diverse material. Her feedback really helped me grow this semester. Taking her again next semester for another course as well. Highly recommend her, I learned a lot.

Prof. Allred is my favorite teacher at Mesa. Her course was very easy and doable. She provides lots of time to complete each assignment (although most are small assignments anyway). There were 3-4 big assignments but she provides lots of resources and additional help if you reach out! Such an amazing teacher and course. I'll be taking her again!

She's amazing! She will personally tell you what you need and offer to meet on Zoom to help you. There are 3 main "essays". Lots of discussion posts. I'm not a strong writer, but she makes it easy to get an A.

I really enjoyed taking Professor Allred's ENGL101 class! She leaves amazing comments on every assignment that help increase my confidence in writing. I feel like I've grown so much in writing, all thanks to her.
