Awesome teacher! Had to read 2/3 novels assigned (easy reading), 1 class textbook. Everything that is on quizzes & MT/Final is lectured, so go to class!Be prepared for short answers & essay questions, no multiple choice. She is very direct on what she wants, practically hand-feeding you the answers! Offers LOTS of Extra Cred! :)
She is very helpful, clearly states what she expects from students, and is willing to change things up if the class isn't running smoothly. You would have to be an idiot not to get an A in this class. Do your reading and assignments, and all will be well!
Definitely an extremely helpful professor! She is very clear on what she expects and honestly, you'd have to be in idiot not to get an A. BUT, she is slow on posting things like she says she will so you can expect delays and the need to constantly email her reminders.
BEST history teacher i have ever had. i hate history but she actually made it fun, she went over what was gonna be on each test so we knew exactly what to study. great class
Great teacher, one of my favs. I learned alot. Only one textbook and thats the only thing you need to pass the tests. She was late posting a study guide so she made it a take home!
I loved this teacher! She was super cool and understanding. Her assignments were reasonable and if you were struggling she would help out. I want to come to this class and do the work because she made it interesting.
Prof Anderson Was one of my favorite professors at sac state. Her assignments were easy but helpful! She is really funny and always willing to help! Take her class : )
Awesome teacher! I love this class cause its super easy. Although she has a habit of posting things later than she said she would on SACCT, she is always crystal clear on what will be on the exams/quizzes so you always know what would be coming up. I strongly recommend her!
The people that said she was helpful or a good teacher are on something. I learned nothing from this class. She never lectured on material the midterm had nothing to do with what we were supposed to be learning. Yea I got an A but it was pointless and a waste of my money. Take it with someone if you actually want to learn something about California
she was one of the most interesting classes I've had at Sac ths woan got thrown into LBST 2 weeks before class started. The person below me needs to give her a break. I learned a lot but I never missed a class. We did projects instead of tests but I find that much more appropriate for the major. Sh said se learned from us and will make it better
Easy class. Next to no homework or reading (some was assigned but canceled after I read it). Most classes ran short by at least a half hour. Tells you exactly what to study for the few (easy) tests and quizzes. Lots of EC. The only reason I didn't get every point in the class was because I forgot about a take home quiz. Has taken attendance quiz.
Coolest Prof. I have ever met! This is only her 2nd semester teaching this course but her assignments are perfect for teachers. I said class was mandatory only because I was in the Wed night class and had quizzes then but she is 100% understanding for situation. So helpful and had a blast in this class! Wish I was a Hist. major so I could take more
LOVE THIS PROFESSOR...I'm a person who doesn't like history but she makes it fun and interesting theirs 4 quizzes and 2 Exams(Mi-Terms and Finals)... Best part is she tells you what she's expecting in order for you to get full credit and show up to class she's suspicious when people haven't been their and suddenly get an A on Test...SHE's AWESOME!
The most awesome teacher ever. Really chill and easy! Loved her class because she tells you exactly what you need to know for the quizzes. There are quizzes often but she gives you the terms to know ahead of time and she offers extra credit for each one. She keeps everything simple and fun! A class you won't dread ;)
Super easy. You'll learn from reading the book & occasional discussions will be held in class. Weekly quizzes on chaps, but extra credit often offered. She's funny. Missed many classes. Never passed back papers on time. Lies about that. Def recommend her b/c you'll learn & get an A.
Easy class. Nice looking lady. I'd smash if she wasn't my teacher.
I absolutely LOVE this class!! The teacher makes all her lectures interesting, and tells you exactly what you need to know to study for the exam. I would highly recommend this course to anyone. It was easy, fun, enjoyable, informative, and a good use of my time. My favorite teacher so far. And I ended up with an A+ in the class! Just pay attention.
Yes it is an easy class, but she did not offer much material to learn from. The only thing I got out of the class was the readings from the book and my own lesson plans, not really anything she taught on. Super easy, really nice teacher, but poor quality compared to other classes.
Really cool. Hardly used textbook; she fed you all the necessary information during her lectures. Class was never longer than an hour and she offers lots of extra credit. Do pay attention. Her midterm and final are short so missing just a few significantly lowers your grade. She tells you everything that will be on it though & gives study guides.
Professor Anderson was an amazing professor! History is never fun, but she makes it interesting. Going to her class is like going to listen to a story about our country. She doesn't assign homework, she lets you know what's exactly on the midterm, quizzes, and finals, we rarely used the textbook, she offers extra credit. Take her!
This was a somewhat easy class. If you actually try over the course of the semester, and you check your grade, you may not be satisfied. But when she actually puts in all your points at the end, you'll get an A -- that is, if you even put in the slightest effort. But to be honest, I learned nearly nothing from her. But it's a good GPA-booster.
If you want an ACTUAL EDUCATION of fourth grade history, pick another teacher. Yes, she was super easy but that was because she RARELY showed up to class, never graded anything, barely talk about what you read and zero guidelines on lesson plans. She knows nothing about being an elementary school teacher, NOTHING. Waste of my and her time.
She makes class very interesting and easy for you. Don't have to do any readings as long as you pay attention to her lecture. Everything on her quizzes are came from things she talked about in class, and you will get a study guide that tells you what exactly is going to be on the test. Easy A
She is hot and she makes history very interesting. I hated history classes, but she changed that for me. I'm even considering minoring in history. You do not use the book, but make sure you attend classes because her exams/quizzes are solely based on her lectures.
Easy professor. Class is out of 100pts. But she gives extra credit out. She has a study guide of terms that will be on the quiz and midterm. You can even email her your study guide for the midterm and final and she'll look at it for mistakes.
Easy professor, but still I personally learned a lot. Yes, she did not lecture as other professors, but she definitely helped me see many things that I did see before or maybe even ignored to see. If you take seriously the assignments she gives and really spend some time on them you learn a lot.
Teacher only gave 30 mins notice before not attending class about 5 times in the semester. So always check email before going. Everyone got an A at the end just because she never had a chance to grade papers before the semester ended. Easy class.
I liked her class and she was a great lecture to listen to. she is clear about what to focus on. make sure to take really good notes. she is very straight forward to make sure you get a good grade
Anderson is a great teacher. She talks a bit fast when giving her lectures, gives a few extra credit opportunities throughout the semester , and you will always know what will be on the quizzesmidtermfinal.
My class met once a week and she probably ditched class like 5 times. Theres four quizzes, a midterm, and a final. We had a partner quiz for one of them and she gave everyone an A on one of them because she said our class improved so much. Her lectures are really interesting, considering the fact I don't like history. Very inspirational.
Her lectures are amazing, and thought provoking. I don't like History, but the way she lectures help you see the perspective of people during said time frame. 4 tests, a midterm and final. Class is out of 100pts (Midterm 30, Final 30, tests 10 each). REALLY EASY TESTS. READING/BOOK NOT REQUIRED. She does cancel class once in a while. Amazing person
Anderson tries to give lectures based on the underbelly of history. She prefers to talk about some of the less commonly known aspects. There were only 5 or so quizzes. One was a pop quiz, but there was a little warning the previous class. Midterm and final are about the same length as the quizzes, and they are all fairly easy. Attend class!
She ditched class a lot and she gave will give you the chance to do a big extra project if she sees that you wont pass the class. She was straight forward on lectures. She wont take attendance till like the last few weeks before finals.
Normally I dread taking history classes but she made it easy for me. She tells you whenever there's a "pop quiz" and for the midterm and final she gives you the terms to study and an idea of what the essay question will be. You don't really need the books because everything is in her lectures. She's a fast talker, but other than that she's great.
All she wants is her students to pass, of course you have to work for it but as long as you do your work and study it is an easy A!!!! She is also and amazing professor.
She is an amazing professor. She was like a best friend to the students. She is very laid back, chill, and knows how to make her students laugh. Her lectures are very interesting and you learn a lot. Her tests are super easy. I loved her class and I will miss her. I wish she taught all of my classes. Best of all, she always cancels class.
She is a great professor. Very lay back, gives extra credit, funny. She's very understanding and cares for her students. She cancelled class quite a few times because of sickness for the most part but the next class meeting she would give it her all in her lecture. She gives quizzes and 2 pop quizzes, one midterm and one final. Would recommend.
First weeks of school I was really happy that I chose Anderson. I didn't even read any reviews so I got lucky. She let us out early first lectures, she said "don't get used to it" but she cancelled class every week or even 2 days at a time (which is great) because theres 4 quizzes (our class took 3) and they were a couple terms as well as the final
SHE IS AMAZING!!!!! Super nice, chill, laid back, and easy class. Her lectures are amazing and super interesting. Only had quizzes, midterm, final. Super duper easy. She's an amazing teacher
She was a really easy going teacher. We had class canceled at least 3 times, and almost every other time we were let out early. That being said her lectures are actually really good and she knows what she's talking about. Before midterms and finals she lets you email her for help and her feedback pretty good.
Prof. A is awesome! Class attendance is mandatory, her lectures give you EVERYTHING you need. If you cannot attend class let her know, she is VERY understanding. Couple quizzes, 1 midterm, 1 Final. They're just definitions, dates, & significance of events/people. Take good notes and pay attention! Easy class if you just try. Def Recommend.
Her class is so easy! Her lectures are amazing! She is so chill and i'd wife her!
She is an incredible lecturer, her class is super easy, her videos are interesting, she cancels class a lot, is super hot, very laid back, hilarious, understanding, and just amazing overall
Professor Anderson is a really great professor. She makes the class incredibly easy and incredibly entertaining. Definitely a great History teacher to have. I'd highly reccomend her.
She cancels class way too often and doesn't really write notes. You mostly have to try and follow along with what she is saying while writing or typing it at the same time. You really have to study but it is an easy A. Read the books.
Professor Anderson doesn't give much homework, but she gives a lot of extra credit opportunities. You should pass her class as long as you show up to class and do well on her quizzes. Take class!!
EASY A If you show up and work
As long as you attend class, take good notes, and read you will get a great grade. Lots of opportunities to do well in the class, take those opportunities!
Don't buy the books, just find PDF files on Google or elsewhere. Take good notes, ask questions and you'll pass
Don't bother buying the book. I didn't open it once. Study the lecture materials and take detailed notes. They will be useful when studying for the quizzes or exams.
I loved Anderson! She was hot too. She made me fall in love with History because her lectures were very interesting. She knows how to interact with students and get their attention. She made me understand very well. I wish I can have her for every class because she is very understanding and laid back. She gave me the best first semester of college.
I took her twice on purpose for HIST 17A and 17B. JUST SHOW UP AND YOU WILL DO WELL. If you have a chance to take her course, do it or you WILL regret it. I HATE history and I got an A both times.
I loved this class! Prof Anderson really knows how to keep a student engaged! Her tests are easy as long as you take notes, and she rarely if ever assigns homework. However, she hardly enters grades. You never use the book, so don't waste your money. This is an easy A class if you show up and do the work she assigns.
I LOVE HER!!! The best prof ever and shes is super funny and nice! (: I also loved the fact she canceled class soo many times and her final/midterm is easy its just terms and you have to define them thats all!! Also dont buy the textbooks we never used them and one of them is free on iBooks!!
Her class wasn't too hard but I would not recommend skipping class because you will miss the lectures
Awesome professor, interesting lectures! Cancelled class few times. 1 Midterm, 1 final, 4 pop quizzes. Offers enough extra credit to boost a letter grade. show up to class or you'll miss out on the hints when the pop quizzes happen or things included in the midterm and final. A textbook and 3 novels must have (read 2 novels, textbook for reference)
Easiest class you'll ever take. All the test/quizzes are basically vocab. All you need to do is read one book (maybe not even that). She cancelled a lot of classes, something that I didn't mind. Overall a really easy class to fulfill your History GE requirement. TAKE THIS CLASS!!!
She gives really heavy lectures completely off the top of her head. Not consistent to the schedule, she cancels lectures. All tests and quizzes are based off of what she says in lecture so don't skip. She's a really easy grader.
GO TO CLASS!!! She doesn't stick to the syllabus all the time. She announces important things in class and mentions extra credit that she is giving. I got 18 points for extra credit in an 100 point class because I did all of the extra credit. She is lecture heavy and if you do not go you will miss a lot of important information. She is reasonable.
Professor Anderson was a really great professor. I took a 2 hr 50 min class once a week, and enjoyed her class a lot. If you study and do what you're supposed to, you will succeed in this class. I never minded attending this class. She really knows her stuff and knows exactly what she is teaching. I would recommend taking her class.
Professor Anderson is AMAZING!!! Her lectures are so interesting and you learn a lot from her. She is not boring and she shows good movies and documentaries. Her quizzes and tests are super easy, just vocal and mini essays from the book you read. She literally cancels class half the time. TAKE HER! Easy A
Pretty much all of what will be on the midterms are what she discussed in class. She will do her best to help you out for the tests. Does most of the talking, but it is so engaging that you won't be bored out of your mind. Every test is 6+ terms (description, time frame, significance) and a short (1 paragraph) essay. Would def take her again!
She is an amazing professor and offers a lot of extra credit. She wants all her students to pass and her class is pretty easy if you attend. She lectures and gives one midterm and one final and 4-5 quizzes.
Good professor! Class consists of lectures, 3-4 quizzes, midterm and final. She is going through radiation, so she cancelled class quite a few times. She is very understanding and willing to work with you!
Prof Anderson was amazing. Class consisted of lectures with 4 quizzes, a midterm and the final. She goes over what to expect on all tests and quizzes. Be sure to ask question to clarify the correct answer. Attendance is a must. She often gives extra credit if you show up. Exams were a breeze if you memorized terms a couple days in advance. Easy A!
She is an awesome professor. I looked forward going to lecture because it was interesting and I learned a lot. Shes very easy going, very kind, funny, and she is willing to help students. Shes also super hot
Great class! If you took AP history is high school this class is a breeze. Lectures aren't that bad at all. She provides study guides for quizzes and lectures. She's also very approachable, and you can tell she enjoys her job. Take the class you won't be disappointed and you'll actually learn INTERESTING things. Everything is very straightforward.
She was truly an awesome professor. Verry easy Quizzes and easy to talk to. She has many extra credit opportunities so it's easy to get an A in this course. Would highly recommend her.
Tough grader and surprise tests so be aware of it!
I loved her class a lot. She's clear in what she's lecturing about, and you won't leave class confused. If you show up to class ,pay attention, and study you should get the grade you want ! & she's super funny & chill !
Her class was very easy! Even if history isn't your favorite subject she will try her best so you wont hate history. Her test are super easy since you just memorize key terms. She offers many extra credit opportunities so its an easy A! Take her you will not regret it!!!!
TAKE THIS PROFESSOR! Prof Anderson is one of the best, chill, and caring professors I'd ever had. Her lectures are easy to understand, attendance is not mandatory, but she does take it. Quizzes and Tests aren't hard as long as you've been in class! I'll say it again, TAKE HER!!
I love Professor Anderson! At first my grade was bad and I got nervous, but she helped me gain my confidence back for a good grade. She went through a lot during my semester but did not let it affect her teaching. Very strong, caring, woman.
Professor Anderson is definitely my favorite professor! She's very understanding and the work that is assigned is easy!! She's great at feedback and I would definitely take her again.
I took her asynchronous class. There was one inquisitive a week and a few quizzes throughout the semester. We had two essays and she gave really good feedback on them. Very easy A and its an interesting class.
Her class is fairly easy however it is time consuming, most of your grade is inquisitives which you have weekly which take the most time. As well as you have to read The Jungle. Both the Final and Midterm are essays revolving around 2-3 questions. And there is an extra weekly assignment which can differ. And dont buy your textbook before class.
She gives weekly assignments but theyre very easy. As long as you do her work shell be happy and give you good grades. Her class is an easy A and you dont need to work too hard for it. Take her, she really cares about her class.
She was very understanding and as long as your were willing to work, she is willing to help you. Very interested in the topic and was very clear on exactly what she wanted.
Weekly reading that you have to respond to. She gives feedback on most of the assignments and is gives really clear instructions. The assignments are really easy as long as you read the textbook.
She was awesome and very kind. These reviews are not lying. She does give heavy amounts of work at times but it is manageable when you sit down and do it. Easy assignments but for midterms, prepare a few days before writing. Fairly easy, had a 99 the entire semester.
I love Professor Anderson! She is such a joy to be in class with and you can tell she really cares about her students. For this course, you have to show up, but its super easy. She'll accept late work and is very flexible with her students. 100% would take again!
Professor Anderson manages to make a boring class interesting. Very understanding if you actually respect her & class isn't a stressful environment. All grades based off of writing assignments. Prepare to write a paper roughly every other week. Not a tough grader if you actually do the work (which many don't). Write the papers on time and get an A.
She was an amazing prof. Her assignments have very clear outlines and if you need clarification she is more than willing to explain. The final was a 3-5 page paper. Make sure to attend lectures, they're mandatory. Aside from that you'll never be falling asleep in class that's for sure.
She clearly loves what she does and has fun doing it. She encouraged great discussions during class and made a welcoming environment. Had 3 essays,1 exam, and participation but as long as you actually try, you will be fine! The books were really good reads and I really enjoyed coming to class. If you need to take a HIST course take one with her!
Great professor & person. Made class very enjoyable. Groupwork entire semester, one group presentation. Textbook required, but used very little (needed for midterm). No lectures, discussion heavy. Attendance is graded for points. One final paper. Easy class, but grades a bit hard if you don't put in effort, she can tell. Gives good feedback.
I took Anderson for Hist 17B and Hist 10, I loved both classes. Super easy, super understanding, and easy exams. Weekly inquizitives, midterm consisted of terms and 2 essay questions, final is only terms. Gives extra credit opportunities. Exam reviews are exactly what she puts on the exams. Only took attendance 4 times the whole semesters.
Honestly one of the best professors I've ever had. She actually cares, and is very understanding to outside things that might be going on in your life. With the Midterm and Final it was very clear what was graded on. I can't recommend this professor enough.
The class lectures were pretty boring and almost everyone was on their phones the whole semester but it was okay. I did bad on the final so that was on me but the class is okay. I wasn't very engaged because the lectures were not entertaining or super interesting but you can pass if you do the work and study the terms. She is a tough grader too.
I don't usually like history classes, but this is one of the easiest ones I've taken as long as you attend class. There are four pop quizzes but they are easy. Lots of extra credit opportunities and she is really clear about what will be on the midterm and the final. There are weekly inquizitive assignments but that's pretty much it.
Took Prof. Anderson for hist10, honestly such an easy A and I actually looked forward to going to class. She puts us in groups in the beginning of the semester so lots of group work. The midterm is what got some ppl but just read the critical thinking book, she tells us the questions beforehand too so I you study those beforehand you'll be fine
LOVED HER! She had great lectures, gave many extra credit opportunities if you came to class, and only had 2 homework assignments per week. I aced every test she ever assigned because of how well she prepared her lectures. Her exams are short answers that allow you to explain the event in your own words. Highly recommend!! Definitely attend class!
Super easy course. She really prepares you for the exams (which aren't that hard), her lectures aren't boring and she's super understanding. FREE access to the textbook and its assignments. Attendance not mandatory but will randomly give extra credit 3-4 times for attending class. You'll have to finish The Jungle within the first 4 weeks of class.
She was a good professor and to me personally I took the class as a GE requirement but I was pleasantly surprised how easy the class was.
Attendance isn't mandatory, but extra credit is given randomly for attending class. Online assignments are easy, and there are generally two per week. Quizzes are all pop quizzes, but are generally easy if you've been attending class. Exams boil down to defining vocabulary terms in the historical era(s) currently being discussed in class.
You work in groups all year, and do all your work with them. There is no individual work you do. She is really funny, and the class was overall very engaging. There is a lot of discussion on topics rather than listening to a lecture. Would highly recommend!
Bro WHAT. Whoever is saying she was funny is the biggest cap I have EVER seen. I did not laugh once in this class it was just boring. no one participated in my class, I think lectures would've been way better I'm ngl. She also for some reason always picked on me when people didn't participate. It's like she didn't like me at all as a student. AVOID
she's great; you should take her -- for me, it was for the GE requirement. she makes it, exceptionally, easy to get an A in this class. like everybody below has said, it's all still true (in terms of how grading works). her focus is social history, emphasis on women's history and liberation movements.
Would take again. History is typically a boring subject so expect for classes to be boring but she knows what she's talking about. You can tell she has studied this subject A LOT so feel free to ask her questions and she is very nice and approachable.
This class was not only fun but also very interesting; she was great at explaining things and very approachable when/if you needed help. Group work and attendance matter A LOT. I missed one day, and my grade dropped from an A+ to almost a B. So don't miss class, participate, and do your work, and it's the easiest A you'll ever get.
Professor Anderson is a good professor and gives not that many assignments a week. This class does require doing the weekly readings that are used for the assignments so stay on top of the readings. Midterm and final are essays and gives you a full week to do them and give good feedback on assignments. Stay on top of the work and you will pass.
The lectures may be dry, but Professor Anderson makes up for it with engaging discussions and ample extra credit opportunities. unstuck AI proved invaluable for studying key terms and concepts. Overall, a manageable class if you stay engaged.
Super easy and fun teacher. Histories Mysteries has a lot of in class group work so skipping class will hurt your grade. You will also need to stay on top of the reading for class discussions but they aren't that long. Overall, a really easy class as long as you pay attention.
I had her online class and it was fairly easy. A few discussion boards and quizzes that you can retake as much as you want. Midterm & Final were both short essay questions that weren't too bad. Readings were dense but she was a pretty lenient grader, so just make sure to cite your sources and be specific with your examples and you should be fine.
She's an awesome professor it's the second time I've had one of her classes. Attendance is not mandatory but the tests are based on the lectures so, if you don't want to fail the blue/green book midterm and final you should go. Not too much homework due on Sundays. Always knows how to make a lecture interesting. The textbook is just a book
She isn't the worst. However, I find her to be snarky and rude at times. She calls people out in front of everyone, sometimes when they don't even deserve it. She also gives random pop quizzes and expects you to write an entire page based on whatever topic she picks, and you only have the last few minutes of class to finish it. Overall OK.
