I took Mrs. Chan for mth 095, she was so helpful and easy if you did not understand something she would make sure you did. She was easy to talk to and super nice I highly recommend her

She's nice, i guess. But her material was confusing. Went a past pace for me. But then again, I wish math could be thought in baby steps

Math is rather difficult for me but I did well in her class. You have to work for your grade, ie: homework and actual study for the exams.. As far as the complaints about going up to the board to solve the problems - I think she does this so she can see how you are doing the problem - so she can work WITH you through the problem. ms chan is awesome she is very helpful if you need help getting tutored she is always willing to help and explains things so you understand it she makes sure that you get how to do it if she sees your trying to learn.

easy teacher i suck at math but i got a B. don't expect her to spoon feed u the information so don't blow off the hw or class time.

She was a good teacher, she explained every thing really well. She gives out handout for all test, and goes over them. Do the homework the points add up in the end.

She was a good teacher. Her class was easy. The only drawback is she makes you go up to the board even if you don't volunteer. I Aced this class, but I also didn't miss a class. If you miss class, you miss a lot which is true for any math course.

I like her. Easy-going and very helpful. She cares. Go to class, do the homework - and you'll be fine. She has us go up to the board so she can see where the mistakes are - and then explains what the problem is, and helps you out. I'd take her again any day.

I think chan was a great teacher. She made it clear what she expected of the class and stuck to it. If you showed up for class and tried to do the work, she recognized it. She always had extra materials for those who didnt have theirs. Lowest test and quiz score was dropped at end of semester. Extra help was given at end of class. hw was minimal.

Very easy. high school math review. she went pretty fast witht the material but if you were there and payed attention you would get a good grade! Tests and quizzes were good as well. But just be there and mae sure you do all your work.

She is the best teacher to have explain math to you. Just pay attention and do not slack off in her class cause then she won;t care if you understand or not, and that would be your fault.

Mrs. C. Chan is the best teacher I ever had. She knows how to explain things and just pay attention when she explains Don't interrupt her while she is talking!! Do all your homework and show up in class!You will get an easy "A." Very cool teacher!:)

Professor Chan is extremely helpful and answers all the students questions. She explains the math step by step. The homework helps a'lot and as do pre-tests.

Mrs. Chan is an extremely helpful teacher; just come to class. Her grading is fair and you will be rewarded at the end of the semester. Teaching style is direct, but if you ask for help she will help as much as possible!

Fantastic teacher to go over every detail with math problems. She provides goals and outlines the material for you so that you can follow easily when you prepare for exams. Make sure to come to class and pay attention.

She does give weird verbal examples that are confusing but over all, I thought she was a good math teacher. She goes over the previous day's homework at the beginning of every class and all of her tests are multiple choice. Sometimes she sounds like she's angry when she's not... just another Moraine Valley professor quirk... nothing you can do.

Mrs. Chan is AMAZING! I really DID NOT like math before taking her class..Now I love it. I got like 100's on all of her test. I actually got the highest grade out of all of her classes. This is an easy class if you apply yourself and put the work in. She makes herself totally avaiable..you just have to utilize your resorces!

The one thing I can say about her is that in high school, I went in to the final with an F. By the time her final came around, I had an A. If thats' not good enough reason to take her, I don't know what is.

Chan gives bonus points and helpful review packets 4 the tests. Overall good teacher...just don't show up late or blow off the homework.

OKAY people, if youre taking 098 or a low math class shes good a lot of people hate her but i got an a in her class

THE FIRST MATH TEACHER I TOOK WHEN I GOT TO MORAINE AND THE ONES AFTER HER WERE WAY HORRIBLE! LEARN ALL YOU CAN FROM THIS LADY. SHE'S THERE TO HELP YOU AND IS WILLING TO DO SO. SHE'S NOT THE EASIEST. SHE'S STRICT, BUT GOOD. SHE KNOWS HER MATERIAL AND WILL HELP YOU OUT IF YOU HONESTLY TRY. IT'S NOT THAT HARD!

Loved this class. She is a little hard, but if you do your homework everyday and have questions for class you will get an A. All her questions on the test and quizzes she does for you when you studying for them you just need to write them down and make sure to show up for class! She does not like it if you miss class.

Shes a good teacher gives hw to help you better understand the material, if you get a low grade on a test she drops it so it doesn't count toward your final grade I recommend going to tutoring if you don't understand of going to her office she helps a lot I don't understand why she is getting all these bad reviews

I agree with the comment below. I'd also like to add that I did not think she was disrespectful at all. She does prompt you to try to figure out what you did wrong and does so in front of the class b/c she feels that others make the same errors but do not speak up. I appreciated that, I thought it helped to learn the material. I really liked her!

Honestly she was the best math teacher I have ever had. She breaks things down so they're really simple and very easy to understand. Sometimes she makes you feel kind of stupid when you ask a question but she is still a really good teacher. You need the text book for homework. Her tests were simple if you did your homework. Take this class with her

I have always hated math. It's not my strongest suit. I was surprised to find that I'm doing really well in this course! It's not an easy class but definitely not the hardest. You just need to study. She breaks everything down great and if you have questions, she does her best to answer them as clearly as possible.

I am an older student and algebra is the hardest class I have ever taken. Ms. Chan goes completely through each process step by step and gives out worksheets to practice on. Success was due to taking detailed notes, never missing a class and reworking the worksheets until I understood them. Always answered questions I had.

I took her as a saturday class and it was very fast pace but I love math and understand easily so it was perfect for me! She explains well and tells you everything how it is if you put effort and practice you will be okay! gives bonus questions through out the semester which is awesome

Here why some students find her difficult: Most student skip class, don't do homework and expecting her to teach/explain everything they missed, or student who don't pay attention and just asking question to get attention. She only tell you to go to tutor because you skipped class the day before. Great prof who cares and loves you like her own.

Took her over fast summer 8wks course. I was so worried but she always there for you. Even skipped her lunch just to help you understand her lecture clearly. She was one time told us that she will lock the door and won't let anyone leave until us all of us was clear with the lecture that day bcuz it was important one and she needs all of us focus.

shes a good professor, She gives too much homework but it helps at the tests, if you need help with anything she will help you, she grades all the homework, quizzes and test the same day, only thing i dont like about her is that she takes a bit long to email you back when you email her a question and that she assigns seats.

I thought she was a great teacher. She explained things very clearly, and was organized. She uses each second of class time for lecture. Do your homework and you will be fine.

Does not waste a second of class time, goes over things as many times as needed, available to help you one on one, lots of homework that really prepares you for the test! Shes sassy too :)

She is a good professor. She explains things in a strange/logical way which makes you understand the topic. I enjoyed her class after a few years of not taking a math class. Just make sure you come to class and do your homework. This is a math class You wont pass if you dont put the effort.

I would definitely take her lass again. im not good at math but she helped me a lot. coming to class is always a great idea but if you have a valid reason to not be in class she will let you know what you missed for the day, not a problem. very nice lady and she will definitely go in depth on the work with you.

If math isn't your best subject, she is the prof to take. She really knows her stuff and works very hard to make sure her students understand. You work for the grade you get. If you don't pass her class, that's all on you. She will help you if you ask for it. Clear lectures and always clarifies if you need it. Overall, great professor.

I loved taking Mrs. Chan's class and I would have her again if I could. She has a lot of knowledge in what she does and takes a lot of time explaining things as intricately as possible. She speaks her mind, as it can come out a bit harsh. But keep in mind that she is older. But when it comes to her way of teaching, she is good; she breaks down everything, and if you don't understand something, she will go over it. You can tell she is passionate about what she does. However, as long as you pay attention, you will do just fine.
