Great teacher and while the lectures can be a bit slow and tedious, she helps you learn it with a lot of enforcement of the important facts. Her study guides are very good (though lengthy) and help you prepare for the test. Book is necessary but I didn't read it much and I did fine. She's super nice too!!!

I took her 8-week online PolSc2 Class. This was my frist online class and I was apprehensive about taking classes online but this class was great. All the assignments are clearly laid out week-by week and the course is very straight forward. Every week there is a thread response, and quizzes on the reading, a midterm and final. Great online class.

Gabler is a great professor; consistent, clear, and well organized. Class normally consists of a powerpoint lecture on a topic followed by/intermixed with class discussion. Three exams, one term project. Definitely recommend the class even if you are not interested in political science.

Took the 8 week version so the pace was a little fast, but manageable. Professor Gabler is very clear, helpful, & fair. She provides useful feedback on the discussion posts, and sets generous time limits on the weekly quizzes, midterm, & final. I am a physics major, and my final grade was an A, so the course is great for non pol sci majors as well.

Prof. Gabler is excellent. She's concise, clear, and well-organized. The syllabus clearly depicts the class. Her lectures and power points are extremely helpful. She assigns 1 page papers throughout which form the final research paper. 2 exams + final, all essay and straight forward. Good environment and easy to follow. TAKE HER!

I really enjoyed this class! Professor Gabler is nice, incredibly knowledgeable, and very clear in her directions. Three exams (all essays), and a term paper that's made up of shorter essays written throughout the semester. She doesn't take attendance and she puts the PowerPoint presentations online as well.

Such a lovely professor. One of the easiest classes I've ever taken that's also enjoyable AND interesting! Keeping up with reading will help but I missed a few chapters and still aced the exams because her lectures are so thorough but still clear. DEFINITELY TAKE THIS CLASS!!!!

Online class, 6 weeks. Weekly discussion questions are managable but the quizes are a little tough. She gives you 30 minutes to do 10 questions (3 min per question) so its not tha bad, The final is tough. 50 questions in an hour. NOT ENOUGH TIME. Couldnt finish it! and no extra credit at all. Teach yourself class.

Prof Gabler has a deep understanding of the material she covers in her Poli Sci 2 course. She mostly lectures and has few quizzestestsessays. No homework. Attendance is helpful, just sit and take notes and participate. Great attitude. Organized. Clear and easy to follow note taking wise.

I took online class for winter section so only 6 weeks. Professor Gabler is amazing, very clear power points, only two tests. One discussion per week and one reply to a classmate. Offers extra credit each week. I definitely recommend her!

Professor Gabler is amazing. I generally do not like online classes, but Professor Gabler communicates amazingly, she answers emails right away. There are just two quizzes, one final and one midterm. She gives you over two hours for the final and midterm- more than enough time! She is a very fair grader, and a great professor. Easy A.

Very easy online class where you're basically guaranteed an A as long as you do the work. The answers to the test are right in the book so get the book!! One midterm, one final, and one or two 500 word discussion questions a week with one comment you have to give to another student. Reaallllyyy easy!! I highly suggest taking!!!

easy A! took her before online for polisci 2 but polisci 31 is a little harder just because theres a group and individual project. theyre long but easy I got 100% on both. you have to post on the discussion post and comment on someones post but everthing is fairly easy. 1 final, 1 midterm, 1 small quiz

8 week class. 3 tests: Midterm, final, and first three chapters. Super lax, and help is there when needed. Beware of your group paper: it requires EARLY assembly with team members. Use Skype, IM, or text to contact them faster during work. You have two papers: one policy selection, and a policy brief. Expect to participate during discussions!

Prof. Gabler has a sweet heart and a sharp mind. You can tell she truly cares about her students and wants you to do good, as long as you are putting in effort. She is a fair grader, & provides good feedback. She is always willing to answer emails, questions etc. Provides detailed assignment sheets early on and gives clear instructions. GREAT PROF!

This is the best teacher/professor i've ever had. Honestly, she's always looking out for you, is incredibly knowledgable in regards to both classes i've taken under her (poli 2, poli 31), and just in general will make you feel like a peer instead of a student. I highly recommend taking this class, especially if you're a polisci major.

Professor Gabler is really awesome. She's very clear and grades quickly. She doesn't take attendance, but you'll miss assignments and important info if you skip. She is also very interested in the class's thoughts and opinions of the topics discussed.

Professor Gabler is crystal clear on the things she wants. I thoroughly enjoyed her class as she makes it a point to ensure that everyone understands the lecture materials. The tests weren't difficult, but you definitely have to study for them. I got a 98 percent because I worked for it, but it won't be difficult to become interested in her class.

I have had Professor Gabler now for 2 different Pol Sci courses and really enjoy her teaching style. She is very engaging in class and has always been quick to respond outside of class with any questions. She teaches from the book and does not throw any curve balls. If you apply yourself, A's are easily achievable!

Professor Gabler is engaging and kind. She grades fairly and easily and her quizzes online are mostly found in the textbook. She gives fantastic feedback and I took her as an elective. Although the course wasn't too interesting, she did a great job making it seem so. Gave out 3 papers, tests and weekly discussion in winter online.

Dr. Gabler is one of the best professors at SMC. You can tell from the beginning that she wants her students to understand the material. She helps you with any questions you have and is available during office hours on a weekly basis. Her assignments are engaging and fun. I took her online class and it's not much work. Discussions and midterm/quizzes/final. Purchase the textbook because it will be needed. For quizzes and midterms you won't be able to go back and change your answer so it encourages you to actually do your reading if not you won't do good on exams

Took her online during the winter. One discussion a week, a few 10 q quizzes (multiple choice), 25 q midterm and final (multiple choice), two papers. It's not a hard class at all, just make sure to answer all parts of the question and follow her guidelines. BUY THE BOOK. Quizzes are annoying because once you answer a question, you can't go back

Took her for the new intro to law class and she was pretty cool. She wasn't a tough grader and tests were fair.

This was my second class with Professor Gabler. She is very knowledgeable and does a great job of presenting the information for the class. Also, she wants her students to succeed, so don't hesitate to go to her office hours and ask for help! Overall, her class wasn't too hard, just do the work and study before the exams. You'll be fine.

I attended SMC for three years. I had almost two dozen professors. Dr. Gabler was easily the best. I took two of her classes - Public Policy and Law - and they were far and away my favorite classes. She is a wonderful instructor. She balances the class extremely well between essays, tests and assignments. 10/10 The only good thing about SMC.

Quite simply, if you bother to do the readings before coming to class, you'll be fine. Dr. Gabler operates on the assumption that you already mostly know what she's talking about, so if you don't do the assigned reading, it's going to to be rough. Winter online. Pretty easy online class. Post discussion essay style and respond to one student. 2 essays, one was only 2 pages and extremely easy, the second one was at least 5 and doable not too hard but have to gain lots of info. Wouldve gotten an A if I didnt turn essay an hour late.

I was having a rough semester and professor gabler worked with me and even let me turn in assignments late. She's very understanding, caring and knowledgable. You'll love her class and I recommend her if you're trying to become a lawyer or go to law school.

Best government/history/political science teacher I have ever had. She explains everything clearly. The class is lecture heavy but not the lecture you'd be thinking of. She is funny and engaging. I find professor Gabler delightful! She has been so helpful and involved, even in an online environment. I happened to bomb a quiz and she emailed me asking how can she help and made herself available in-person and online. She is understanding and fair. The material was not exactly my cup of tea, but she makes it easy enough to not suffer.

Professor Gabler's class was a very manageable class and the material straight-forward. You are graded on essays, exams, and in-class assignments. Everything you need to know is on the schedule, which helps if you want to get the reading done in advance. I'm not a Poli. Sci major and I enjoyed the class.

Took the class online. The final had all this stuff in it that was not actually covered in the class (textbook readings and slides), so that was odd. Grading is a bit strict, but she helps you sharpen your writing. It's a good class to take.

Professor Gabler is very organized and her class consists of 2 essays 9 legal briefs, 2exams and an optional final. She also offers extra credit and you don't really need to buy the book all the info for the legal briefs is online. The lectures are incredibly interesting and engaging I learned a lot and would definitely recommend this professor.

Prof. Gabler is a great professor. She is very clear with what is expected of her students and her no-nonsense approach really alleviates unnecessary anxiety. Do the reading and the work and you will be okay, an 'A' is a very achievable with her class. For PolSci2, make sure you have the textbook. She was also sympathetic about an emergency I had.

I took the accelerated course. Great structured online class. Every week is about the same amount of work with regular deadlines (like every Sunday by 11:59) It was an essay and sometimes a quiz or exam.

Here's a breakdown of her Pol Sci 2 Scholars class. 4 essays (one of which is the final), 11 activities, 2 midterm exams, and 4 evidence logs. All in all, if you put time and effort into what she is asking, in addition to going to her office hours, there is nothing to worry about. Social Sciences majors will find this class easier than STEM majors.

I took professor Gabler in an online class of Spring and she's a great professor however there are certain things to watch out for 1) She grades only based off a few assignments so if you miss one assignment it hurts your grades A LOT 2) she has specific standards and procedures that you have to follow or she doesn't give you full marks.I got an A.

8 Wk online class consisted of Weekly discussions and quizzes. Very easy. She provides feedback on your discussion posts. The quizzes are timed however, and there is a final at the end of the course. The quiz material is straight from the chapter so as long as you read carefully you should do great.

I've taken three of professor gabler's classes and she's honestly one of my favorite professors at SMC. she gives great feedback, is extremely understanding, and actually cares about your education. all exams, papers, assignments, etc. are easy and straight to the point. 10000000/100. I always recommend her to people!!!

This is the 2nd time I have taken one of Professor Gabler's online courses, and both times she's been fantastic. The structure of her course is very organized as we had a weekly discussion and quiz. Therefore I would recommend to obviously not fall behind. Professor Gabler was also very quick in responding to any emails I had. A+ professor.

Professor Gabler, is hands down one of the best professors at smc. Although her class is tricky to navigate at first because she involves a lot of grading criteria, she is super accessible outside of class and more than willing to help every single student of hers. Professor Gabler was my professor for Constitutional Law. We started in class and moved to online. She was compassionate and professional and organized. She was fair but made me want to work hard for her. She has a wealth of knowledge and I regret that her lectures could not continue in person. If you care and want to learn she is excellent.

I took this class for Intro to Law. The class is structured out of 10 major assignments, 4 quizzes, participation work, and a optional final. Easy A if you follow the instructions. She tells you how to improve and is determined to help and care for her students. We were in class, and then moved to online but she was flexible with online modality.

I would 100% recommend taking her class. She is amazing! Just make sure to read the book and turn in everything on time. There are only weakly discussions and quizzes, which are straight from the book. The final is 40 multiple-choice questions. She always gives good feedback and checks her emails in a matter of 10 minutes. Great professor!

If you are looking for an polisci online class and are looking to get an easy A, definitely take Professor Gabler's class. All of her assignments are pretty clear and simple. Most of the answers for her quizzes are even on quizlet!

Professor Gabler was super kind and very clear on what exactly she wanted from us. Get the textbook and you'll pass. Quizzes every week only worth 5 points total so be careful. There is also a paper every week as well as a peer review but shouldn't take too much time.

If you're trying to fill a requirement or just need an extra class, take it w/ Gabler. She's super sweet & cares about her students. I will say, I was really looking forward to taking a comp gov class, but the way the info is presented isn't my favorite & it's a bit disengaging. This is the second class I've taken with Dr. Gabler. I really enjoyed it. This was a fully online 8 week class so it goes by quick. You have to read a chapter a week and then an evidence log demonstrating your knowledge as well as a quiz. Overall, not too difficult. I learned a lot!

Straightforward class w/ clear syllabus. 1 timed reading quiz every week (answers on Quizlet). One evidence log due every Friday & a peer review due Sunday. Logs require minimal reading for definitions and some quick research on the country you will focus on. 1 Test (the final) also came from quizzes and answers are on Quizlet too. It's an easy A.

Class was pretty simple as most of grade came from four essays. HW was straight forward, all graded stuff was writing assignments but with a little effort it is no problem. Grading wasn't harsh at all. Took it Spring 2020 during COVID so did not really have lecture. Topics of class are pretty interesting, would recommend! Great Professor.

Gabler is a great choice for Scholars polsc2!! For fall 2020, we had 1 discussion, 10 evidence logs, and 3 essays. Going into it, I thought we met twice a week, but it ended up being fully online. As long as you have and read the textbook (which can be found free online), and do the assignments you're good :)

Dr. Gabler is very nice. The class consisted of case briefs, quizzes and exams with essay portions, peer reviews, and weekly short essay responses. Lots of reading and writing! The work is tough and you really need to be on your A game and follow her grading criteria or else. Fair grader!

Took her Pol Sc 2 Scholars course during Fall 2020 and it was very interesting! 10 evidence logs (with peer reviews), and 3 papers. Textbook readings plus a lot of individual research are a must for the assignments. I appreciated her feedback and thought her grading criteria was clear. I took her six-week class and it was great. Minimal work and a very interesting subject. After taking eight other classes at SMC, Prof. Gabler is a breath of fresh air. Very nice and super helpful.

Prof Gabler is very kind and gives amazing feedback on case briefs and discussions. There is a case brief every week but all of them are extremely informative and allow you to conceptualize amendments, I personally loved the class. She always replies to emails and if you have any questions she is very helpful when answering them.

Prof. Gabler's class was easy and informative. Bad students may rate her low, but anyone with half a brain can get an A. Her six-week class required four hours a week of work with no lectures. Take her class and you'll boost your GPA easy*. *Bad students beware: You can't pass this class with complaints and laziness; just do the work and it's easy.

Professor Gabler is passionate about the subject matter, and it made me love and enjoy Comparative Politics. I also was able to learn a lot from the readings and homework assignments. The class consists of evidence logs from the chapter readings, and three essays. I would definitely recommend! I will be taking her in the future again!

Super compassionate and patient, willing to grant deadline extensions, really easy to communicate with and reach out to despite the online format. Content and assignments generally consist of weekly discussions about cases and providing case briefs (think elaborate summaries organized into different sections) on cases, and a Final Exam.

I am a high schooler taking this class and it is very easy to get an A, as long as you do the weekly quizzes and discussions. You need the textbook for quotes. There are many quizlets that you can use to study for the quizzes and tests. Write down questions you get wrong bc they will be on the midterm/final. Overall great and easy class

I took POL SC 2 with Dr. Gabler during the Winter session. Although the term moved fast, I genuinely learned something in this course. Awesome professor, there were no tests just weekly essays/assignments. If you're comfortable writing essays, this is the class for you. It's an easy A as long as you do the work (HW is perfectly manageable) and improve the way you complete assignments based on her feedback. Take this class if you need it, you won't regret it.

Great professor. Gabler is easily the nicest human being in the Poli Sci department, and all the work she assigns is super straight forward and reasonable. There is always that one professor that you wish could teach ALL your classes. Professor Gabler is the ONE for me. I appreciate the concise and thoughtful feedback she gives, and she is organized. Its pretty much a class in which you use a textbook and learn everything from there. Alot of discussion post and reading quizes. Final 120 points and it aint that bad.

I love professor Gabler, she is a very good professor. Grades were mostly based on Brief Cases, and exams, but I really enjoyed this class.

She's a good professor, however she picks on a lot of things in your assignment and she does not respond to emails. She also grades assignments extremly late so I have no clue how I can improve on my next assignment until its too late.

Overall just a really great teacher, I took for her classes on both Law and competitive politics and in both she was very precise about what she wanted from students for each paper we turned in.

Prof. Gabler had a concise rubric that was used for each discussion/case brief.We learned about a variety of Supreme Court cases, and studied one each week in depth.This was the first class where I felt like students actually cared about the discussion assignments and engaged with one another.Typical async class- should be fine if you try.

Professor Gabler's class was challenging yet rewarding. The concise rubric and in-depth case studies kept me engaged. While the workload was high, the feedback was valuable. I found unstuckstudy really helpful for study prep alongside the course materials.

ive never taken poli sci before so i really appreciated this class as an introduction. she was nice and easy to talk to! her feedback was also really helpful. i would def take her again!

Amazing non-biased lectures, mostly on supreme court cases. Exams are easy just follow the study guide and lecture notes, and study the parts of the cases she teaches. Final is optional extra credit to boost grade 5%, she cancels class occasionally late notice but recommends to use that time to study. Overall easy A and teaches comprehensively!

One exam and 2 essays. Exam was extremely easy class average was a 17/20. The essays are about the same if you're good at writing you'll do great. Only advice I have is for the professor's evidence logs. Make sure to go above and beyond for a 10/10 (about 300+ words on each box). She also grades attendance so make sure you come to class.

While I may be biased due to my natural inclination toward international politics, I absolutely loved this course. I found the lectures extremely easy to follow, and the most time consuming aspect of the class is completion of evidence logs, which are graded quite strictly. If you show up and participate, she will absolutely be more lenient.
