She is probably one of the best professors around. Her tests are hard but her lectures are very good. She gives study guides that helps with the test. She is a very sweet person and is willing to help if you need it after class hours.
If you miss a class you will miss a lot of info. She goes very fast and she is very smart so she goes into details. Her tests are really hard so don't wait till the last minute to study..
Panella is an amazing professor. There is never a dull moment in her class, and she really cares about your understanding of the material. Her tests were all multiple choice/true-false. Everything on the test was in the powerpoint or lecture. She is a sweet lady, and I highly recommend her. You will have to study, but hey, what else is new?
This class is the hardest class I have ever taken. I study for many hours for the exams and do all the study guides she provides and I failed every test for this class. The only grades in this class are tests and quizzes. She is a very sweet lady but she just moves too fast during lectures.
Best teacher to take for anatomy 1, you do have to work for your grade but she really breaks concepts down and makes it easier to understand. Her test are usually all multiple choice with matching.
Caring teacher. Tests are fair meaning she tests over what she's covered. Will move dates if material is not covered. Her lecture slides are enough to learn from. Gives study guides. I have had more structured lab classes, however, which is my only complaint. You need to study hard and earn your A, but it is very possible. Would take again.
Worst class Ive ever taken. Lectures are very long and fast. Barely any time to ask questions. Tests are very application based.
Dr. Panella was fine. Not any easy class. 1 extra credit project that bumps you 2 WHOLE grade points. I never figured out how to study for her tests. Study guide wasn't helpful. Tests were difficult and wordy. She's always available for questions & tries her best to help. Quizzes are take home. 4 tests, 4 quizzes, 2 practicals. Only grades in class
SHE'S THE BEST PROFESSOR I'VE EVER HAD OMG. I'm genuinely surprised at some of the negative comments. Dr. Panella is so sweet and compassionate to people. Her lectures are amazing, and she is SO engaging. I would take her for every class, if I could. Yes, the course is difficult, but she wants you to succeed and makes you work for it. Take her!!
Not specific at all on what she expects for the exams. Says one thing will be on the test, and half of it will be something we had never discussed in class or assigned outside of class. She reads directly from the powerpoints ad pulls examples directly from the textbook but does not test over any of the material from lecture.
Hard no matter the teacher. Powerpoints w/ all info available before class, I did best taking notes directly on them. Noncumulative final & 3 lecture exams 60% 2 labs exams 20% & lab participation 20% it pads the grade. Very caring & organized. Wont waste time reorganizing info. Fun class. Book for practice problems, not required but helps a lot.
Dr. Panella is the best Professor I have had. She truly cares on if you understand the material and teaches in every way she can to make sure each of her students learn. She is passionate about what she does, and you can tell through the way she lectures. Although her tests are difficult, I would take her again in a heartbeat. I learned so much
4 week class: hard no matter what. Cares about students & wants them to succeed. Lively lectures, visually pleasing PPTs on D2L caters to auditory, & visual learners. If you do the study guides and study the pre-test review material you will do well. If you take class notes on quizlet to manage time & make quizlet diagrams of lab models youll pass
SHE IS AMAZING. That being said, she makes you work for it. She's not just going to hand you an A. Anatomy is hard, and there is a lot to learn in a short amount of time. She is so engaging and real to her students. Show up for class attentive and study hard and your grade will reflect that.
I absolutely loved Panella's lectures, she is a great doctor and professor. However, her exams are PACKED with material. She goes over things really fast and its hard to comprehend things. Her exams were probably the hardest exams I've ever taken. Wish they weren't as heavy because I genuinely enjoyed her class.
I absolutely loved Dr. Panella. Her class is difficult, but she makes it as easy as she can for you, especially in lab, without sacrificing your learning. She gives lots of tips to help. Study her study guides mostly and briefly read over notes for tests. She loves her students, so build a relationship with her!
Dr. Panella was one of my favorite professors at UNG. Although 2120K and 2130K are extremely difficult classes, I enjoyed both of them. For good reason, she takes the class very seriously and treats you like future nurses. Take the class seriously and try your best. 4 lecture exams and 2 lab exams. Her study guides match her powerpoints exactly.
I loved Professor Panella! I am taking her fully online and she still finds a way to give amazing lectures. This is a hard class in general but if you keep up with the weekly work, you'll be fine. Homework and labs are easy to complete and they really carry your grade if you do them all. You can tell she cares about her students!
Taking her class online scared me at first, but she is very organized with the material and extremely clear in her lectures. In announcements she made throughout the course, she really does care for the students. Wish all of my professors were like this. She made the really difficult coursework fun for me.
One of the worst classes I have taken. Lectures are long-winded and not clear. Even if you put in the work, you will be completely lost on quizzes. I learned a lot from this class on my own but was not tested on that material AT ALL! I'm not sure how she comes up with the questions on tests/quizzes.
Im taking Dr. P online now & I highly recommend her! Her lectures are very interesting and easy to follow. DO YOUR WEEKLY LABS! They carry your grade! Her tests & quizzes are difficult, but not impossible! Focus on function & cell biology. Do NOT just memorize vocab terms! She is very caring, offered to let me resubmit a lab that I did wrong.
Material is very lecture-heavy and often is not stated clearly. Lectures were long and drawn out and to me, were scattered and unorganized. I had to read the book and look for outside resources to understand. Quizzes are definitely difficult. However, labs are easily and boost your grade. She seems nice but would have been much better in person.
Labs carry your grade in this class. I'm not sure where she gets her quiz questions from. She gives you a study guide (30 to 50 questions long) for a 10 question timed quiz and most of the time none of those questions had to do with the study guide. Lab quizzes were difficult because we literally never had lab? You have to teach yourself the lab!
The only way to do good in her class is to read the textbook! Use the Pearson one not the free book.
If a large amount of students struggled with a certain test or exam, please maybe consider changing some aspects of your class. We didnt have lab. Just worksheets for lab, no lecture. Tested over random things but not always the main idea for chapter quizzes. Overall, found it difficult to study. Im a good student and her quizzes were still bad.
Dr. Panella is one of the best teachers Ive had. I took her for A&P 2. She responds to emails quickly, is clear on what she expects, and is very approachable. She truly cares if students succeed. Exams come straight from study guide.
Online lecture videos are not helpful to learning the material and actually confusing. The 2 Lab exams were difficult because we NEVER had lab, just filled out worksheets on our own. She doesn't seem to care about student's grades. If you want to do well, read the textbook and teach yourself. I only appreciated the 30-50 question study guides.
Did not have a great experience. I passed the lecture class perfectly and failed the lab class? I turned in everything I was supposed to and still managed to fail and I never got answers. Very rude when I tried to talk to her about it and never answered my last email asking her why I failed.
I worked my butt off for my A, but Dr. Panella is one of the worst teachers I have had. She uses the Pearson text, which is not required, but you will probably fail without it. Does not respond to emails in a timely manner, gives 0 feedback, quizzes and tests are timed and have nothing to do with her study guides. Steer clear if you can.
By far the worst class I had. Diagrams and quizzes were taken from Pearson booknot class book. Quizzes/tests were not handed back so youd have no idea what you needed to focus your study on. Had weekly office hours but those were worthless unless you remembered exactly what the question was you missed. Study guides were pointless.
She uses so many external sources as lecture material and when it comes down to the test, nothing matches what was given to study with. She can't comprehend the questions asked by students, she jumps the gun when answering - she simply does not listen. & she does not update the gradebook so you are left wondering if you are passing until the end.
She believes you should already know the material coming into the class. Her notes and quizzes/tests are nothing alike. Quizzes and tests are timed based on the number of questions there are. There are no other assignments besides tests and quizzes. Had to withdrawal because she doesn't explain very well. Her study guides don't help. Dont take her
She is so knowledgeable but she does not know how to teach, she reads right from the slides, her powerpoints are at least 90 slides long. Her tests are over 3 chapters and she makes each test 25 questions so it is impossible to study for. She does not know how to answer questions and makes you feel so stupid when you ask questions.
She is a great teacher. I like her class so much that I am taking her for BIO2130K next semester. She cares about your grade and gives extra credit. As long as you study the notes you take from her lecture and read the textbook, you should do well in her class. You will have to study a lot because A&P is a lot of info to memorize but she is awesome
To start off with, A&P1 is a hard class. No matter who you get as a professor, you will have to study a lot to pass the class. With that being said, Dr. Panella is amazing. All of the material in her class is in sync so whatever is on her slides/study guide will be on her test. She has a passion for teaching and that makes the class enjoyable.
I LOVE THIS WOMAN! i was going through such a hard time last semester, and she made me feel seen. i was so mesmerized by her lectures that it made me fall in love with science. dr. panella felt like a mom to me more than my actual mom.
Knowledgeable and caring. Hard tests but she covers everything in class.
Dr. Panella has made this hard course so much fun! I literally wish I has her for all of my classes!
Dr. P really cares about her students and wants you to succeed. She is always encouraging us to reach out to her and go to office hours if needed. People say she isn't the best about responding to emails. Her lectures are very long and can be overwhelming, but it is just a hard class in general with a lot of information. 5 question quizzes hurt
This is a tough class, but Dr. P makes it fun. She applies her knowledge and will do whatever she can to help you.
Dr. P has vast knowledge in the subject. She breaks down challenging material and makes it digestible. She is always willing to help, encourages questions and makes the class environment very warm. There are weekly quizzes. This makes you keep up. There is a book, but she covers everything in class. Be prepared to be in class.
I can tell she really loves her students and she wants all of them to pass. I enjoyed sitting in her lectures because she was very enthusiastic when she taught A&P.
Professor Panella is the best teacher I have had. She was able to make sure everyone in the class was on the same page. Her lectures were amazing & she really did only add the important things. You can tell she enjoys teaching. She graded fairly & if you ever need help she made sure to be there for you. If I could have her for every class I would.
I just finished A&P I online with Dr. P. She was super organized and clear. Even online she seemed to care a lot about all of us. A&P is a ton of work, but she makes you keep up with weekly quizzes. For an online class this was well set up and you always knew where you stood. I wish she was teaching A&P II online. Would definitely recommend!
Just finished this course. Even though it was online, I felt like I was in class. Dr. P reaches out and really tries to help. Assignments are a must. A little boring, but it's online. I think lab has different assignments with in person classes. Overall would take Dr. P again!
Refreshing to have a professor that actually has some real world experience.
Hard class but she makes everything understandable. She cares so much and tries to help anyone that comes to her office hours. I want to get into her A&P II course. The class is hard, but ask her for help if you need it.
This professor was one of the best I've ever had! She always answers your questions and helps you understand difficult materials. She's knowledgeable in teaching and knows exactly how to connect with her students. If you have an opportunity to get her, DO!!
Dr. Panella is a decent teacher but on quizzes and test, once you have answered a question you cannot go back and look at it, and you cannot skip through the questions. She has office hours, but they were not helpful and she always said the same thing, easy lab exam but super hard lecture exams and quizzes.
Tough class no matter who you take. Quizzes and Exams are tough. Good study guide. Lab list is great for lab exams. Overall, good teacher, hard class, but I would definitely recommend Panella for it.
This professor was awesome. You need to study hard for your lab because overall they were only a few quizzes which makes it hard to pass if you didn't make a good grade on one of them.
She teaches so well and is very clear about what we have to study in order to be prepared for our quizzes/exams. This class is known to be hard but she makes it easy and understandable. Whoever takes her class is very lucky because she's an amazing teacher who genuinely cares for her students and wants them to succeed.
You will have to study a lot for the lab exams and overall she made the lectures interesting and easy to understand. She though the material very well and gives you practice problems to help you practice for the exams.
Only take this professor if you truly want to know the material. She is very lecture heavy but very clear and detail to learn from it. The grades are not too great but I learned a lot from her. It is very do able but you must be ready to put in the work. Great person as well as professor.
DONT TAKE She says she would rather learn a small amount of material well than a lot and not at all Well that isnt true She speeds through lectures when you try to ask a question she doesnt really understand gives you a bull crap answer short answer tell you to be short and simple then takes points off for not enough Tells you to use bullet points
Incredible professor. Knowledgeable and kind. Takes her time. I just read this last rating and it seems crazy, and inaccurate for sure. She has several exams and quizzes and her reviews are awesome. It's a hard class, but she gives many opportunities to do well. She cares so much about us. Take Panella!
Dr. Panella is amazing! Her class is difficult and lecture heavy but she will truly prepare you for your future career. She is very accessible outside of class and will help you until you understand. The content is very heavy and a lot at once so you have to do your part outside of class to keep up. Overall a difficult class but amazing professor!
Dr. Panella is a great professor who really cares about her job and her students. She does her best to make every student successful and provides lots of opportunity for extra credit and additional learning time. Her A&PII class covers a lot of material but as long as you study and attend lectures you should do well on her exams.
If you are going into healthcare take Panella. Knowledgeable, kind, and cares about your education. Teaches A&P but adds tons of clinical examples. Perfect way to learn! She knows what she's talking about.
Amazing professor with a lot of experience! Dr. Panella incorporates clinic examples & real-world examples into her lectures which is the best way to learn. She truly cares about her students and will go out of her way to help her classes (as long as you're making an effort). Take both A&P's with Dr. Panella if you get the chance!
She is a great teacher and teaches Anatomy and Physiology clearly. There are lots of tests and quizzes that require days of studying to pass but because that is the case, you are guaranteed to understand the topics.
Dr. Panella was always very kind to me when I went to her office hours. She helped me with question that I had that were not related to her class. Her exams and quizzes are very difficult. Lab exams and quizzes on the other hand are significatly easier. The textbook was not required and chapters from it were not assigned. I recommend reading it.
I enjoyed this course! I will say that lectures are heavy and Dr. Panella goes at a fast pace. this class requires extra study time and is not a course to cram last minute. the professor offers extra credit through study guides. she used analogies that allowed us to capture the material. she is accessible outside of the classroom!
Premed? PreVet? Take Panella! She bridges the gap between the science and the application of it. Lecture always has a clinical twist and labs are entirely applicable to a clinical setting. Tests are hard but her reviews cover everything.
Take her! Lots of quizzes help. Keeps you from getting behind. Lab assignments are a bonus to the grade. She is organized. Tons of extra credit if you do the work. You learn a lot and she really cares.
Her class is tough but she gives plenty of opportunity to improve your grade and she genuinely cares for her students.
I've never had more caring teacher. She knows her stuff and brings her experience to class. Her lecture tests are hard, but not impossible. She gives amazing reviews before exams and tons of extra credit. Lab is easy. Just show up. Lab tests are not hard. She gives an anatomy list. I am definitely taking her for AP II.
Took Panella for 3 classes. She is awesome. She makes concepts understandable and interesting. Truly inspirational. She does everything she can to help. Extra credit!!
gives you study guides for the exams and if you do them you get five extra points on the exam study guides follow the exams, but you have to be able to apply the questions to situation Prepares you for clinicals lectures are very entertaining Shares stories
Funny, knowledgeable, and has actually worked in the real world. Love her clinical background
Dr. P is organized and gives you everything you need for the class and lab. It's a lot to learn but she makes it as fun as it can be. Her best trait is that she is a doctor. She knows what she is talking about. Her examples help a lot.
Going to medical school? Take Panella. Her clinical examples are on the MCAT! Labs are clinical. You learn a lot.
Dr. Panella was a sweet professor overall. She gives extra credit opportunities for every exam; her exams are only 25 questions and are level 1. She was an awsome professor overall. The class was challenging in of itself, like drinking water out of a fire hydrant. Highly recommend!!!!
Dr.P is the best. She is patient and kind. It's a hard class. But she explains everything and is pretty funny and excited about what she teaches. She is a doctor and that helps so much. I can't wait for AP 2 with her. Extra credit too
I was in this class with the person that wrote this rating below. It is not accurate or true. I think Dr. P was amazing and I don't like this rating. She was none of those things. She taught great. This person that wrote it was almost never in class. Trust me, if you want a caring smart teacher, take Dr. Panella!
I was in 2252K online. She gave online lectures that followed a study guide and most of the information on the weekly quizzes was on the study guide. Hard tests but overall great professor. The class is just hard.
I enjoyed her class, she made A&P so much fun and allowed for us to ask questions. You can tell she enjoys teaching, she was always in a good mood ready to teach. She allows for extra credit so do them all, even if you don't need it. Her test can be challenging if you don't study. She provides detailed power points for lecture and lab.
Caring and helpful. A lot of material. Study guides and extra credit help a lot. She is organized and funny. Real life experience helps.
This is a hard class but Dr. P stands by you all of the way. She is very animated and fun in her lecturing. She uses her hand a lot and doesn't mind when we giggle. She allows us to ask questions and encourages us. I think she is the most caring professor I have ever had so far.
Took her class, everything started out great. That was until I had to miss class sick and was at the urgent care, told me no work could be made up and I asked what was missed and refused to tell me because I was out sick then I studied the general info from the chapter and quizzes were completely different. Do not recommend if you plan to get sick.
Hard...yes. She has a great background to teach this material. Concepts broken down well. Organized. You know what to expect. Lab is great. It's the stuff I see in the clinic that I work at. Well worth taking if you are going into med or vet.
Don't Take her, shows favoritism towards cadets.
Do not take her. Says everything on the test are on her study guides, they're not. Her tests are scrambled within the unit; you can either get hard questions or really easy ones and sometimes duplicates. She is rude in office hours and will actively try to make you feel stupid. Makes this hard class harder for no reason. Be a teacher's pet!
I would STRONGLY advise against enrolling in her class. Support and encouragement are clearly NOT a part of her teaching philosophy; instead, she seems to believe that belittling students is an effective educational strategy. If you see this PROFESSOR Panella, I hope you actually consider changing who you are. Take this review seriously guys!
Unless you want your whole life surrounded around this class, DO NOT TAKE THIS COURSE. She grades multiple choice tests, take that as you will. I highly advise you to not take this class. She belittles her students and does not help at all in office hours.
She has no respect for students. She told me I would be a horrible nurse and that I have no knowledge. She favorites cadets! I would advise you to throw a fit if you have her. You're in for a roller coaster. Good luck buddy.
Told me I would never be anything. Favored cadets above everyone. Told me my grandma died at a bad time and wouldn't let me make up a test that I missed for the funeral.
very unprofessional, only lets cadets make up work not civilians. Very unprofessional rules. She tried to make people stay behind in class until the end of class after an exam even though they completed the exam and were just scrolling on their phones. Belittles her students. if your reading this do you get paid to discourage students?
Shows biased towards different students and holds them to different standards. Very egotistical and likes to make her students feel discouraged about passing her class. Very two-faced. She's been very gracious to some of her students and being very relaxed about grading to them and then she's the devil to others. She always needs to be right.
The class is a lot of work, but she is a great teacher. She is very animated and enthusiastic about teaching. She wants the students to succeed and helps out when she can. The class is lecture and test heavy and requires a lot of studying, but she makes it enjoyable. We didn't use a textbook except if we needed to look up structures on our own.
I really enjoyed the class. I took Dr. Panella for both A&P 1 and A&P 2, she is a great lecturer but make sure you pay attention. Always go to lab, often times she does not require anything to be turned in but as long as you check in you will get credit for the lab. I found her tests and quizzes to be difficult, do the extra credit.
took dr. P for both a&p 1 and 2. these classes are HARD, but i think she made them a little harder than they had to be. there were weeks when we had two quizzes and an exam in the same week, and none of its over a small amount of material. but she does do extra credit and gives a study guide for phys and word list for anatomy which helps a lot!!
Prof. Panella is such a great teacher. Her anatomy class is pretty difficult because there is so much information to get from it, but she navigates it well. There is at least one quiz/test a week, but she is so kind to her students and teaches is very well, so it is do-able. Lovely professor!
Honestly, great lady but her quizzes aren't representative of the tests. Prepare to get 10-20 more points on the exams than you do on the quizzes. Kind of sucks because quizzes are worth a fair bit all combined. Not really tech savvy either, her quizzes jump from being able to move back and forth to questions to not being able to. No real stability
Dr. Panella is a great and caring professor. She is accessible outside of class for any questions. There are a lot of quizzes that weigh a good bit of your grade, but she goes over the content in lecture. Lab exams are pretty tough, so study AT LEAST a week prior. Overall, the class is pretty hard, but she tries her best to make it manageable!
She's a very understanding professor, often changing some of the quizzes to help her students (making it easier by removing content). The lectures were quite hefty at times, speaking more than what was needed. This class is on the harder side especially if you haven't taken A&P before--I would definitely set aside a few hours to study for this class!
