The material for the class can be a little tricky but Pedram is amazing and so helpful making sure you understand the concepts. She super sweet and always likes to have fun and make the class laugh. Definitely recommend her!!

I love Pedram so much I am taking another PSY class with her next semester. I don't attend lecture much, but when I do she gives such great examples for some difficult-to-understand topics. This is a hard class in general, but Pedram makes it fun. Plus she's hilarious, and a super interesting person.

One of the best profs I've had to date. She really cares about the students and makes the dry content interesting . Her lectures are identical to the book, so you don't really have to read to pass. She gives extra credit during class, so actually showing up is helpful, especially because the tests are really challenging.

Dr. P really helps you understand the topics at hand. While I occasionally used the textbook, it wasn't that mandatory as long as you went to lecture. She cushions your exam scores (3 total) with easy written assignments (5), and will randomly give extra credit on some lecture days. She's easily available in and outside of class. Highly recommend

Dr. Pedram makes boring or complex concepts understandable and easy to digest. I feel like I am actually learning something when I attend her lectures. You could skip class but there is always something to laugh about in her class because she is funny. Getting an A is not hard if you pay attention in lecture and do the few assignments she gives.

Dr. P is the best psych professor I have had at ASU! She has 4 tests but one of them get's dropped at the end which could include the final. For a class like psych research methods, it can be boring and tedious but not with Dr. P! Every example was memorable and hilarious. I did use the book and lectures to do well on her exams.

Great lectures/discussions. Shell let you know what you need to read from the text on the study guide. You sould follow along in class and add examples to the notes because the posted slides are condensed. Class is 75% 4 exams (no final - all MC) and 25% personal thoughts papers basically just do them abd get the points

Dr. P is amazing, one of my favorite professors at ASU! I had her for this class and research methods (PSY290) at the same time, she was equally awesome for both. This class is 4 exams, all non-cumulative and some 2-page writing assignments. Lecture is so interesting and engaging! Go to her office hours, she's so nice and helpful.

Dr. P is the best! She is so sweet and it's clear that she really cares about her students. She offers extra credit if you go to class so it'd be helpful to go. The tests are really easy and she basically gives you a super detailed study guide of everything you need to know. Would definitely recommend her!

Really great professor. Research Methods is probably one of the driest/hardest classes I will ever take at ASU, but she does a really good job at keeping students engaged and entertained. 3 tests, optional final that replaces lowest test grade, and lab makes up the grade for the class. Would not have wanted to take this class with anyone else!

Dr. Pedram is an AWESOME teacher who loves her job. Highly recommend her class. 2 midterms and one final exam, she gives EXTREMELY detailed studied guides which resulted in good midterm scores. 5 written assignments which were super easy to follow, also one written report! I took it in a flipped classroom setting and I wished it was a regular class setting because I love her lectures.

Since this class is a hybrid course, 75% of our work was online. This course is a lot of reading, but her lectures help guide you through the work, making it easier to handle the class. I really enjoyed going to her lectures as they were easy to understand, engaging, and interesting. There are only 4 tests and she drops the lowest score, easy A!

Prof. Pedram made this class extremely easy to pass. No final, dropped lowest exam score out of 4 total exams, dropped lowest quiz score out of 12, and gives you one skip for class that doesn't count against you. She made study guides for all exams, so just study that & review your lecture notes (which are posted online).

I must have drawn the short end of the stick this semester because the positive reviews do not reflect my experience. She had an AWFUL TA grade all 5 papers & the research report. He gave no feedback and took forever to grade. The 3 test were fine, she gives a nice study guide. I feel like I missed out on what could have been a good class.

The format for this hybrid class is awful. The readings are lengthy and boring if you aren't into psych. However, Dr. Pedram is very considerate of this and was generous enough to drop our lowest exam score, test score, and 1 missed attendance. She wants you to succeed and will help if you ask! You get out of this class what you put into it.

Professor Pedram is a solid teacher, she allows one missed lecture, and for my class she dropped 1/4 exams, and one of the online quizzes since we had such trouble with the free online textbook. Definitely take her over other psych professors she makes lecture fun and engaging.

Dr. Pedram is one of a kind and passionate about social psych. I loved going to lecture because of her upbeat personality and how engaging she was, class flew by. The class consists of 2 midterms and a final. She provides a lengthy study guide that if you only study that, you'll do great on the exams! There are also 5 short papers, easy A!

Extra credit giving for attendance. Easy short 2 page papers. Only 3 exams. Very fun and repeatable teacher. Reading the book and her study guide will help in the exams. Final research paper very easy 5 pages. I would take her again. Best professor i had this semester! Easy A!

I LOVE Dr. Pedram. This is my third class that Im taking of hers. She makes you want to actually go to class and be present because shes so passionate about psychology and loves to teach. She tries so hard to make sure you understand all the material and genuinely cares that you do well in the class. Highly recommend taking her class.

The only problem I had is it was basically an online class. Class was irrelevant, but the tests were hard and she gave study guides the day before. She is a wonderful person and I would take her again though. Just be prepared to do a lot of work on the side! She's so sweet though

Prof P was a great teacher! The class was hybrid with modules on Mon & lectures on Wed. She offered extra credit for feedback a couple times during the semester & a drop quiz and test. She's super sweet and really wants the best for students.

All the answers are right there. 4 short chapter review ?s to boost your grade - easy. Actually go to class though because she tells you exactly what's on the exam . The class is dead boring but she is genuinely sweet and if you look over the lecture PowerPoints and you will be fine. The lab is fun and if you make an effort you will get a good grade. Your final grade is a combination of your lecture grade, exams, and your lab grade.

Such an amazing professor! I wish I had her for more classes! She is just amazing at lecturing! I am not a good test taker, so I got a B, but I got so much from the class that it is fine with me! Some have said that her tests are easy and so are her papers. I agree with this, again, tests are hard for me personally. SO RECOMMENDED!

So much extra credit was given in this class it was almost impossible to not get an A. Attendance isnt mandatory but that is were a majority of extra credit is given. The tests are not too bad and the reviews are helpful. She does her best to make sure that everything is going smoothly. Homework assignments are easy and interesting.

Super interesting lectures. This was the only class I actually enjoyed. She made everything easy to understand and is super clear about what's important. Lecture attendance isn't mandatory but going will help you a lot. The exams are very easy if you study using her study guides but if you don't study YOU. WILL. FAIL. Extra credit too.

Tips to get an A+: 1. Extra credits can add up usually 5% to the grades. The attendance is not mandatory but if you go every class, your grade could increase from A to A+, A- to A, etc. 2. One of the easiest classes I've ever taken. Attendance isn't mandatory. She gives extra credit sometimes if you do show up. Hybrid class :). Tests are pretty simple and the optional final can replace your lowest test grade. Hw is easy. The honors contract is easy if you choose to do one. Would definitely recommend!!

My 3rd class with Prof P was suddenly moved online due to Covid-19. She was my only prof who adjusted the course to make it more manageable instead of falsely assuming we all had infinite free time. If you read the textbook or attend lectures, you'll get an A and learn a ton!

This was one of my only classes that I never missed. The lectures were very easy to understand and very interesting before classes were moved online. Professor Pedram probably handled things best compared to my other professors when classes were moved online. There isn't much homework and it is easy to complete.

I am a Finance student and was required to take this class. Pedrams in-class tests are quite hard but if use her study-guide and study THOROUGHLY you will get an A. She is very fair and was completely understanding with this pandemic. The last two test were open note and open internet. She gave a bunch of extra credit at the end. Great teacher!

I highly recommend Dr. P! She knows that research methods isn't the exciting topic, but she really keeps the class engaged. She's funny, explains things well, and offers some extra credit. Lecture portion is only graded on 3 100-point exams and the lab portion is also 300 points. You really need to study for exams, but 1 retake is offered if needed

Honestly one of the best professors I've had to date. Incredibly understanding and accommodating. Large amounts of extra credit, open-note tests, and dropping the lowest test score made this a low stress but high payoff class. You do have to put in work for weekly assignments and test prep, but not so much I ever felt overwhelmed. Highly recommend!

When ASU took out finals exams week, she looked for ways to give more extra credit as well as change the class to make it less stressful for us. Especially towards "finals week." She's very understanding of how times are stressful due to the pandemic.

grade is based on lab and 3 exams. lectures have important information, but the topic covered is usually boring. your textbook will be better if you aren't motivated to pay attention in lecture, but the info is dense. exams are long (50 qs) but she allows one retake of an exam. the lab consists of 2 research papers.

Dr. Pedram is the most caring teacher ever! Even tho the content of the course was really boring, she made it fun and easy to learn with her personality. I used the recorded lectures to succeed on the exams. I never read the textbook but still did well. The hard part of the class was the lab portion imo since my TA was so strict on her grading. :/

There is lots of material you CAN read, but she puts everything that's on the exams onto study guides you just have to fill out and print. Any and all paper/printed notes are allowed on exams. Homework is due once a week and has never taken me more than an hour to complete.

Dr. Pedram is my favorite professor at ASU. This is the second class of hers I have taken. Her lectures are very interesting and her exams reflect course material fairly. Little outside work required if you go to lectures and pay attention.

Super easy class exams are open book open note at home. She makes jokes and is super sweet makes the class very interesting.

Pedram is so kind and an easy grader! She genuinely wants her students to flourish instead of struggle in her class. She will help you with any issues you have and she gives so many opportunities to get an A. You also don't have to purchase the textbook, but you do have to read it.

Dr. Pedram is a great lecturer and actually allows students to engage during class. The quizzes and assignments are all a part of a program called Cengage so make sure to read that textbook, as the assignments and quizzes go hand in hand with it. I took the hybrid version of this class so we met once & assignments were due Friday & exams on Sunday.

The class was very easy and the professor offers lots of extra credit. She does an amazing job with her lectures and the activities she has us do are very interesting. The tests are not complicated and are open notes. Just complete all of the study guides and you should end with an easy A.

I definitely recommend going to the lectures, they aren't required but they helped me learn a lot more rather than just studying by myself. The biggest piece of advice I have is to use her study guides, it contains almost everything you need to know on the test.

Definitely buy the textbook. The tests are open note, I barely attended lectures and could get by by using the textbook and printing off the class notes to use for the exams. You are only graded on 4 exams, a couple papers, and extra credit. It is important to do the extra credit. The papers are graded fairly easily.

Prof. Pedram is great for a fun and easy 101 experience. Just read the textbook and take good notes on it for the open note exams and you're set- you really don't even have to go to class. Favorite PSY prof at ASU, took her for PSY290 too. Classes are all lecture, gives out study guides for exams (open note), two papers with clear rubrics and fun topics. She loves participation from everyone and is so nonjudgemental so please try! She is kind and generous, and very knowledgable about Psych, highly recommend.

She's a really good professor that is always open to feedback. After a difficult first exam, she made study guides that were really helpful for future exams. She even drops the lowest graded exam which helped boost my grade. Overall really good professor and I recommend her to anyone taking psychology.

Dr. Pedram makes all of the lectures pretty interesting and you can tell she actually enjoys teaching the topics. I personally didn't like writing the papers and were kind of long but apart from that the tests weren't very hard if you attend class. She gives plenty of extra credit and tries to help out everyone's grades at the end of the semester.

Professor Pedram is super kind and great at teaching. The assignments are multiple choice and open book. The exams are online for you to take at any time within a 3-day window and are open note. There's an extra credit question at the end of every exam that specifically references something that happened in lecture, so attend class if you can.

Mine was a hybrid class so we only had one lecture a week. Exams are open note but they can't be electronic and she also gives study guides. 3-5 assignments due each Friday but they are super easy. She is nice and actually cares about you and if you pass. I recommend taking notes in class (they will help a ton on the exams)

Professor Pedram is really nice and she cares a lot about her students. Tests are a little challenging, you definitely have to do a few hours of studying and preparing for them, but they are open note so that helps. She also drops the lowest out of the four tests which helps, and there is extra credit offered in the class.

you can tell that she has a genuine interest in teaching the class, which makes it more enjoyable. Very minimal amount of work, maybe like 2 hours a week, which is nice for a SB credit. Tests are open note so as long as you have good notes the tests aren't too difficult.

I really enjoyed the layout of this PSY101 class. having four different exams and no final is really really nice. i do recommend going to class and i think that her lectures are actually really interesting and she will give every concept real life examples. Her and her TA respond to emails really fast as well. would absolutely take again!

Very fun course! Tests were somewhat content heavy, recommend getting physical copy of book as open notes are allowed for tests, but not digital. Two easy papers. Sometimes students share some of their personal experiences (not required) which can take up some lecute time, but it a fun engaging way to connect with the material and fellow students.

Although tests are open note the chapters are pretty long, don't leave them to the last minute. Does not give extensions on weekly reading quizzes. Very passionate about what she's teaching but lectures can be a bit dry and boring.

Professor very passionate about the subject, lectures were engaging and she always had funny personal stories and situations to help better explain concepts, but beware lectures won't cover everything needed for exams. Effort required outside class pretty minimal. Only complaint is the TA graded my paper solely on APA formatting, not on content.

She's a great prof! lectures are long but the work load isn't bad. Theres a few assignments a week which are super easy. Her tests are a little challenging so you'll need to study but she's very accommodating and offers a little extra credit. Attend her lectures for extra credit on tests.

Highly recommend if you have to take psy 350 to take the honors section. We only had to write one big paper and I wrote it about Taylor Swift! Tests were open printed note so I recommend getting the printed textbook so you can use it on exams. I didn't and just used a printed study guide but wish I had the textbook. Super clear rubrics for writing.

Lots of extra credit opportunities, very interesting lectures. She finds a way to teach in a way that is really fun. Hands down one of my favorite teachers!

I took this class hybrid and all of the tests were open note. The assignments are very easy and Dr. Pedram is always willing to work with you if anything goes wrong. My best advice is take good notes based on the online textbook and you will get high As on every exam because they are very easy if you do that. Class is very organized as well.

This class was great and you can tell Pedram is very knowledgable in the subject. Exams are on lockdown but you get an unlimited amount of notes to use on them. There are also many many many opportunities of extra credit.

This was probably the most easy A+ ever (even though I spent a lot of time taking notes). Exams are open notes, and the exam questions are in the exact order of the textbook, so you don't have to flip back and forth through notes constantly. Lots of extra credit and drops lowest exam grade.

I didn't attend lectures, still managed to get an A. Has lots of extra credit opportunities and online exams. Just read her exam review document before every exam and understand all the bold terms through the textbook and you should be good to go.

She was an interesting professor, I did not attend her classes as I already took psych, so I was familiar with the content. She gives many extra opportunities and is a very easy class and the hw is also easy.

took her class in the summer so it was very accelerated, you have to purchase the access code for Pearson to do the assignments, get ready to read and have the exam proctored. I would not depend on the Study Guide too much as it did not help me much and be sure to write down specific studies from the chapters as a pro tip :)

Overall, the professor was laid-back and understanding. I attended every lecture even though I didn't need to. Assignments and exams were quite systematic and led to no form of confusion. A considerable amount of reading and notes will need to be done if a student is aiming for an A+ in the class. However, this class is extremely difficult to fail.

I took this class in-person, Lectures were optional. Exams are super easy they are open notes. My advice is to pay attention to lecture and get your notes from there but also read the book because I got a lot of my notes from the book. She was a very entertaining professor and would take her again for any class. :)

Professor Pedram's PSY101 class is a great option if you're looking for an easy A. With plenty of extra credit opportunities and open-note exams, doing well is very doable. unstuck study can be a helpful study tool alongside the textbook.

I took this course as a hybrid. Lots of reading and note taking but all exams you can use written notes. Makes the course really easy to pass.

The professor is really caring and teaches really well during class. We have in total 4 exams, lowest one is dropped from the course. Lots of opportunities to do extra credit. Must complete 4 SONA Credits (She will explain) but she will respond to emails fairly quick and is really nice and helpful when it comes to questions about the class.

Not a hard class in the slightest, lectures were also very interesting and engaging. 1 exam dropped, all exams open note just as long as they were printed. Gives a study guide that you can fill out and use, that makes every exam easy A. Dr. Pedram herself was also very very friendly and helpful, would 100% take a class with her in the future.

I really liked Dr. Pedrams class! Attendance wasn't mandatory but I went to every class. She knows what she's talking about, making it much easier to understand the material. Just do the reading, notes, and study guide and you'll do well on her tests. Would definitely recommend taking her class if possible!

Professor Pedram is so sweet and kind! She teaches very clearly, is relatable, and empathetic. Lots of studying is needed. Lectures were somewhat helpful. Keep reviewing practice problems and the review packet. Open-notes on exams. Exams were mostly easier than homework. 1 exam dropped. 3% boost to grade of extra credit if all done.

this class was easy. i never once attended class an got an A+. the tests are open note so just take notes using the online textbook and you should be set. this professor is easy to reach and very caring. she wants you to succeed and offers extra credit as well.

Has clear expectations and doesn't try to add on to students' stress, open note exams and drops lowest exam score, easy to understand and follow with during lectures, everything is in textbook, great professor and not snarky or arrogant like a lot of the professors at ASU

This professor is SOOOOOO AWESOME. She is a passionate teacher and gives really interesting, engaging lectures. The assignments are straight forward and can be completed easily with lecture notes and all tests are open note. Make sure to fill out her study guide she posts on canvas and you'll ace all the exams!! Would 10000% take again! Fave class!

Prof Pedram is incredibly fun, caring, and genuinely wants to see all her students to succeed. She provides 3% worth of extra credit and drops your lowest exam score (out of 4 total exams) at the end of the year. Her lectures are also super engaging. She is amazing so definitely take her!

She was very nice and had very thorough lectures with examples and videos to help learn the information. Homework and assignments were easy and helped you prepare for the tests.

I took this class as hybrid, so I only had it once a week. Professor Pedram is amazing! Her lectures are fun and intriguing. Theres 4 exams, no final, and they're all online with a lockdown browser and webcam. You're allowed paper notes-no electronics. I really recommend if you need a PSY101!

She's amazing! She's funny, kind, and very knowledgeable. Her lectures are fun and super easy. A couple of assignments are due every week but aren't difficult. The exams come straight from the study guides that she provides. She drops your worst exam AND SO MUCH EXTRA CREDIT!

I had Dr. Pedram for the hybrid PSY 101 course in Fall 2024. She is a caring and supportive professor. However, some exam material was not covered in lectures and only in the online textbook, which was frustrating. Additionally, lectures often spent too much time on straightforward slides, leaving less time for more complex topics.

This was an online course and I took it over 5 weeks(Session A). Each week there are two assignments and one exam. All assignment and exam questions are multiple choice. Overall one week of work would take me about an hour. Super easy and fast class!!

I'd say the class was good. There is a great deal of reading involved so you will have to spend at least a few hours a week studying. Only 2 things make up your grade, so if you mess up on them it will bring your grade down.

Class is easy. Recommended for general requirement. Exam and homework pretty straightforward. Printed open notes exam as well. There is a lot of reading that might take some time.

Super long and heavy lectures that were a little boring. The homework was easy but sometimes didn't line up with the tests which was annoying.

Great and easy class, but the midterm tests aren't easy in my opinion and I'm a straight A student. You have to read the textbooks, which is pretty long and may take up to 4-5 hours to complete a chapter, to do well on the midterm tests ( weekly ). There is no final though. 50% easy tests ( elearning...) and 50% midterm.

Pedram is a very engaging professor, especially during her lectures. Her classes are an easy A as long as you study, take notes, and read the textbook. She offers plenty of extra credit as well. I learned a lot in her classes; she is also very kind and understanding.

It's an okay class. It's a lot of reading, and lectures went over the reading (a bit engaging but mostly reading off slides), and we did an activity that would count as extra credit for the exams and enforce what she was teaching. Exams were also open note, which made them very easy. If you need for a general requirement, take Pendram.

She made this class so enjoyable. The lectures were always interesting and she explains every concept super well. The class was very easy overall and as long as you take notes, the tests will be a breeze as well as the assignments.

i feel like she/TAs overanaylze the lockdown browser footage. other than that was a super easy a. getting a physical copy of the book was a game changer on tests (they are all open book and the questions go in order of the textbook). got over a 100 and only went to the first lecture

She is very friendly and helpful. The class is very easy and one can get A+ easily. She will give lots of opportunities for extra credit and is very cooperative. Loved her approach and classes and it was really fun!
