She is very fair and wants to help everyone. She gives review almost like the test, awsome teacher.
She's a nice teacher, but her tests and quizzes aren't easy. Some of the problems on the test aren't what you studied for.
She teaches very well. Of all the teacher for calculus, take her. Do not take Mao. Take her!
I had her for a couple of classes about 15 years ago... Now, I'm a famous math geek!
Great explanations and examples. Very helful and always available. Homework is a requirement but it really helped when it came to the quizzes and tests. Very fair in grading.
you'll be fine if you just study the problems she does in lecture. very easy.
She is a very nice and excellent Professor. I enjoy attending her class all the time because of her fair, humorous and caring personality. Just share with her your hardships, she will do her best to help you. In short, take her class and enjoy cute and smilling moments.
Haha, she is a nice teacher. her teaching skills are good, it is easy to understand what is she trying to tell. For quizes and tests, there are quizes every week for me and after 2-3 quizes there is a test so every week something new for you. You will not have time to feel sorry for yourself!
Professor Plett is one of the Best Professor. Performing basic academic requirements such as attending the class regularly, studying her lecture notes, doing homeworks,& asking her questions, you should have a high possiblility of doing well in her class. I like her class & her very nice personality;I learned from Professor Christina Plett a lot!
She was better than other teachers in Calculas department. She is fair and teaches well, and she expects you to do better in her quizes and test which are everyweek. Go to SI its helpful if you heard of it. It helped me very well. Dont really know about other teacher so no more further comments!
Ms. Plett is a good teacher, she explains clearly and is helpful giving exam reviews. However, her tests are really hard and gives too many questions with small amount of time. She takes points out for small dumb mistakes and it is not an easy grade. If you like to be challenged during tests, then take her class.
I will make this really easy for you, Take this teacher, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! For whatever math class she is teaching, take her. Also, I will tell you the best two math teacher to take is of course Ms. Plett and Mrs. Godshalk. Plain and simple. No need to look any further. Okay!!!

She is very nice. Class can be a little boring but only because her voice is sweet and kinda monotone. Relaxing kind. Makes math clear and understanding. I recommend you go to the tutoring it will help you a lot.
She is sooooo nice. I loved her. Always willing to help you out. =]
Yes, No doubt! I love her,too :-) Just because she is truly nice. She's also friendly & fair. Her lecture is interesting, clear, & easy to understand. Her tests are based on her assigned homeworks and her lecture notes. You should do well in her class if you study. Not only I love her class, but I also love her partial credits--very reasonable.
Mrs. Plett is an excellent math professor. She is very kind, sweet, and generous (with her grading :D). She always gives partial credit even if you did the whole problem wrong. Very considerate. Loves teaching. Easy to follow lectures. Adequate homework. Fair grader. Very chill. Take her!
Professor Plett is an excellent teacher who makes the complicated concepts of calculus understandable for even the most "math-unfriendly" of people. There is no homework in the class (for better or worse), just quizzes and tests. The difficulty of these exams are rather fair (which can also be said of her grading). I recommend SI if you need help.
Very helpful teacher. Her tests and grading are very fair. Basically, just study and you'll easily earn an A.
She's a good teacher, she knows how to make problem easier to look at. The only thing to be aware of is she has a monotonic tone, which easily to make you fall asleep so have sm coffee or candy (since i'm really easi to fall asleep) but if you like to take note, then you'll b too busy to fall asleep anyway. Recommend to take her ;)
Highly recommend this professor!!!! She is easy to understand, allows plenty of time in her lectures to answer student questions, and knows her subject matter!! As long as you are willing to do a little work, an A is definitely posible even for the "math unfriendly"
she is such a wonderful teacher, she grade the test generously, and also give clear demonstration in the class, if you want to get even better understanding you need attend the SI session, it will make you A on the test and also get extra credit. her test is reasonable, rarely to seem people drop from her class, take her you will have no regret!
Prof. Plett is a very competent and fair teacher. She gives somewhat easy quizes and more challenging tests. Her tests are by far the longest and most thorough of ANY math teacher I have ever taken. But she is willing to help you if you try; she helped me a lot and cut me minor breaks. Challenging but you'll learn! And she's pretty ^_^
Plett is the BEST math teacher I ever had. I HATE math but I need it for my major. This class is not an easy "A", but getting an "A" is very possible! You will actually learn in this class! Do your homework and create a formula sheet for every test. She explains everything in depth and she's extremely patient.
Fast but clear: 99% of students get used to her teaching method easily. Challenging because of concepts, not because of Prof C.Plett. Materials are tough at first, but simpler after 2nd week; never give up! Study hard and ask questions are the key. She've made the class reasonable & fun for ALL to learn & pass. #1 passionate about helping students!
Well I've taken this class during the summer, so I knew it was going to be hard. But it was intense. She tested on some of the extreme problems, bam! There they are on the test! Class is decent, but I would really like to have completely worked out solutions to study with! Good luck!
She's a nice teacher- the summer class was hard because it was so short so we had lots of material to cover. Doesn't grade homework, (she says this in the beginning) so only do it if you aren't good at math. Quiz everyday cept test day. I'm pretty good at math so I'm biased, but any difficulty is due to the subject, not the teacher.
lectures fast and often doesn't explain algebraic steps that some of us need explaining. crosses out stuff on the board which makes it difficult to follow. quizzes are pretty hard. homework is optional, thats pretty cool...
This teacher explains everything well and is very helpful. I highly recommend this teacher
VERY GOOD TEACHER! THE BESTEST!
wonderful teacher. i took for 150b and 250a. very professional. always has quizzes/ tests back on next day of class. lets students know grades after every class. very dependable. if you need help, she is there. easy if you know your stuff and put time into it. great teacher. take her.
She is a fantastic teacher. Very reliable, and genuinely cares if you do well. She spends extra time going over anything you don't understand and always gets your tests and homework back to you immediately. I wish I could take her for every level of math! Trust me, take her class.
She's such a wonderful teacher! If you're not ready for a test, she lets you have the make up test one week later!None of my teacher let you do that. You should register her Math 150B and 250A or you're regret it!
I LOVE HER! She is so nice and cares about everyone. Test are hard but not because of her. I studied and got A's on four tests so far. STUDY put time in. Attend SI for max. 20pts extra credit which you will need. Quizzes are hard but don't let that scare you. She's the BEST!
Mrs. Plett is an excellent teacher. She goes a bit fast but shes really willing to help you after class. Extra credit for SI. Ive never been good in math but I got an A. Easy going and super nice.
An extremely wonderful teacher! Will take time out to explain it to you if you do not understand. I had never taken Algebra and got an A! She gives bonus points on tests and extra points for attending SI, which is actually for our own benefit! Take this teacher if you want to learn very nicely!
This teacher is so nice!If you are not ready for a test, she let have one make up test! Homework is not collected but do it anyway so you can do better on tests.
This teacher is very generous when she grades tests.Sometimes she deducts only half points for careless mistake! She is the nicest college professor I've ever had!Highly recommend to take her Math 20 and 150B
This teacher is wonderful! She allows her students to have one page of notes for the final! She tells her students what will and won't be on the final depending on the students' majors.I was very happy to hear that there wasn't physics application on the final cuz I hate physics a lot.
I adore mrs. plett she was such a caring and nice teacher. She cares about all her students to make sure they all recieve A's. Thats why she is a lenient grader. I recommend anyone to take any of her class. A great lecturer.
She gets to the point of the lesson, never goes off topic. I hate math and was never good at it but have a high A. Very good teacher, she has so much energy and is very nice, explains thoroughly, gives extra credit on tests and homework is worth points for every chapter.
she was excellent!!! take her great teacher
nice lady, but she goes wayyy too fast..plan on taking nonstop notes and studying a lot. teaches pretty well, definetly knows her stuff but she just goes wayyyyy too fast..even when i went to her office hours...too fast! grades fairly easy but her tests are pretty hard. she expects you to go above and beyond.
Do not listen to any negative comments about her.Took her Math 150B and 250A and attend every SI and pass all the classes. Most of her tests are very straight forward if you study hard and do your homework. She grades very fair. There is no reason that you will fail her classes.
She was awesome. For Math and engineering majors, I highly recommend her class. She shows you all the tricks for the quizzes and the tests. Her SI was so helpful also. What a great class ever! However, you need to work harder to get good grade.
EXCELLENT MATH TEACHER! Explains everything well and goes over material several times. She wants her students to succeed if they are willing to attend all the lectures and do the work. Her tests are reasonable as far as difficulty and she grades very fair. I'm about to finish her class and I have an A+ :)
Best math teacher I've ever had. She made this class enjoyable. Take her if you need Math 20, you won't regret it.
wonderful math professor. very passionate and knowledgeable in her field, and cares about her students. she lets you know everything you need to know for her exams. homework is not required, and quizzes shouldn't be hard if you study. I would make SI a priority in this class, because it helps clarify many concepts since she lectures fast
Such a sweet woman. A very kind and accommodating teacher; unfortunately has so much info to get thru that she talks a mile a minute during lectures. Make her SI sessions a priority! I had a conflicting class but went once and I know it would have boosted my grade, probably by a full letter. But you can tell she loves the subject and its inspiring!
love the class.It is doable.
She is very nice and has a lot of office hours so take advantage of them, you have to study a lot because the content is not easy, but with a lot of studying you can pass the class. You will have to work for your grade.
The best calculus teacher out of the 3 that I've had. Doesn't require hw. Tests are very similar to study guides and not tricky at all. Totally not hard, but not easy. You have to study the material. Some people didn't need the book and still got A's O_O! so go figure. She really loves math. funny sometimes. organized. Recommended!
Plett is the best high-level math teacher on campus! If you take her notes and understand them all, you don't even have to do homework to get a good grade. She loves and knows what she's teaching. There is 15 points extra credit, but you have to attend two hour long SI sessions for 15 times. But there is no curve at all; you get what you get.
Professor Plett is nice and very helpful. But, she goes over the material so fast. She doesn't collect the HW, but you need to know how to do the problems. Also, she will have sample test for you before the test and it is almost the same,so make sure you understand how to do it then you will be fine.
I hated calc2 but i liked prof. plett. The materials are quite tedious, but it's not her fault; The only thing that annoyed me was that when she's doing problems on the board she made it look so easy that you'd think it's easy;it wasnt. will point out specific things she'll test on. Her grading is FAIR and i never felt i got cheated out on points
If you guys are math majors, you have to take her!! I personally am not a math major, but she is coherent and approachable. She covers material at an accelerated pace, but she takes time to answer questions if you have any. She gives a pretty fair amount of partial credit even if you get the problem wrong. Study, and go to SI and you'll get an A.
I've had her twice and she's a pro. She does go fast, but she explains everything. At the 250A level, the "arithmetic" part of calculus (differentiation/integration) is almost trivial (but the course is NOT) so you really want someone who can explain every tiny detail of what the math really means. She is that lady. Always in a good mood. A+++.
Professor Plett is awesome. She is super kind and takes the time to make sure people really understand the material. She also qualifies what she teaches--like for some topics she'll let you know that you'll learn a better way in 250A, so no need to memorize long-term. She teaches the essentials very effectively. Superlative teacher.
Doable class. Take notes exactly as she writes on the board, study them, do HW, go to Office hours, and you can be guaranteed an A. The Exams are exactly like her notes. With 15+ years teaching at cypress, she is very knowledgable, nice, patient, and simply the best. Look forward for math250b
Prof. Plett is one of the best math teachers I have ever had. I took her for 150B, 250A, and 250B. Her lectures were concise and coordinated. She understands her subjects extremely well and can really articulate her points. The study guides are perfect for exams. 10/10.
Easily one of the best teachers I have taken for any subject. She is extremely helpful and will go out of her way to help you. You should definitely take her.
Really knows her stuff and is wiling to help anyone. The study guide is really close to the tests. Homework doesn't count for points but she does offer extra credit for attending SI.
Just write and erase so fast like a robot to finish her lessons. Students don't understand, who cares. Let read book at home and don't go to class if u take her. Don't take her if u can.
Not easy classes, but nice and helpful professor. If you find it's hard in her classes (250A and 250B), it's totally not her fault. It's all about the concepts and MATH. If you dont understand anything, she'd go back and make u understand with patience. Go to office hour and she'll be there to help u. Hw is not required. But still better if u do it
Professor Plett is AMAZING. She is brilliant and explains the material clearly and exceptionally. If you don't understand her, you can stop her right then and she will explain. She's smiling every day! I didn't use the book at all and I have a high A in the class. That's how good she is. Do and redo the practice exams and you'll be fine. Take her!
Her exams, especially the final exams (2 parts) were fairly easy. Just practice homework and the study guide once or twice, and there won't be a reason to not get an A. I got an overall score of 100% in the class with her extra credit ( 2% for participating SI sessions).
Her class isn't that bad, but you definitely have to study on your own. She goes through the lectures so fast that all you're worried about is writing everything on the board. Do the study guides! They're similar to the test. Definitely don't slack off or else you will have some catching up to do.
She's very fast in lecture, so try and keep up. This is a hard class and you have to understand she can't slow down because she needs to cover everything. She welcomes you to her office when you need help, definitely go to SI too. She's more forgiving on partial credit than her brother at FC. She's very encouraging whether or not you do well too!
she's a genius, and a very kind one. the only disadvantage in her class is not being able to copy everything down since she does go through things quickly (she has to) but she let's you take pictures of the board which saved me. prioritize LISTEN during lecture over copying things down (just take pictures) also the study guides are insanely helpful
She's an alright professor. Pros: test reviews are just like the test. offers extra credit Cons: moves way too quickly. notes review brings confusion. doesn't drop a test. (difficult for people who work weekends.)
I really wish this professor would just take a step back and slow down. She has the potential to be a great professor but her fast paced lectures are too difficult to follow. She teaches the course like it is a summer course and notes won't make sense due to lack of time to write. At least there was extra credit
great professor. the class itself is hard so don't expect an easy A but she will help you because she cares about her students. she also doesn't make you feel bad if you're falling behind at any point she's very encouraging, she understands how hard the material is.
Plett is AMAZING! She does have long classes and speeds through everything, but if you focus you will be fine. She is easy to reach out of class so she helps in anyway she can. She is such a nerd and she's really motivational. Signed up for her!
Lectures are too long. No breaks beware. To say the least, i was not doing well in her class but not for lack of trying. She blew me off when i asked for help b/c i could not make the S.I. due to scheduling. I dropped her and ended up with an A in other class. Much better profs out there that are willing to help. would not recmd
Professor Plett goes to great lengths to make sure her students succeed. She manages to take abstract math concepts and make them easy to follow. Dr. Plett hands out summarized notes of the textbook with example problems and review sheets before each exam. However, if you miss lecture, her notes will be hard to follow.
If you do not like a speedy classes, with 3 sections a day, then this class isn't for you. But don't be alarmed, Plett just has to jam a lot in one day, but makes sure you have everything you can to pass. She's an amazing instructor and will not keep going until you've got it. Best math instructor I've had in both FullColl and Cypress.
I took multivariable calculus and differential equations with her, and it pursued me to double major in pure math. She is a great teacher and if you have an opportunity def take her. She has a fair grading system and her tests are exactly like the reviews. Pro tip when she gives you the review, ask her to take the picture of her worked out solution
The class moves quite fast covering 3 topics a day and there are no breaks in-between. There are 4 exams and 2 finals (1 is cumulative). Her exams mimics her study guides so those are your best bet to achieve an A in the class. There's also 12 EC points (2% of your grade) available via SI. I highly recommend you attend SI right before the exam.
All my friends told me that she was a great professor, but personally I didn't like her class. She moves at a ridicuously fast pace and never fully justifies the concepts. Her notes are simply her solving problems so you have to hope to understand it. Fortunately, I found prof Leonard on youtube and he saved my calc3 grade but I'm screwed for calc4
In general, she knows her stuff and is a decent teacher, but be warned of the fast pace if you take her class over the summer. Because of this, be prepared to fall behind and leave class with a partial understanding of the material. The class is more computational than conceptual, so be prepared to memorize formulas and solve a lot of problems.
Best math professor ever. Plett is passionate and really cares about her students. It is a fast-paced, somewhat difficult class just because the material itself is difficult. But she tries her best to help you do well. Go to SI for extra credit. Consistently do the hw and test reviews and you will be well prepared for tests.
She's really good at teaching Multivariable Calculus. I had an A for calc 1 with a decent professor and took a horrible professor for Calc 2 (got a C). I took Plett in the summer for Calc3 right after Calc 2 and got an A (96%). The class was fast paced but I actually love the way she teaches. test are easy as long as you prac. the review tests.
She is really good at teaching! She never leaves the class earlier, always do extra problems to make sure everybody understands the topic, she gives extra credit for attending reviews, so there are possible 12+ points. Her exams exactly like reviews. Nothing surprise! No homework, no quiz, attendance not mandatory! BEST EVER! LEARN AND HAVE FUN!
She is the most intelligent women at the college! I learnt not only from her notes also from the questions which are asked on the exam, think about an instructor who asks questions to teach you even on the exam! I definitely recommend her class! Amazing person, excellent teaching methods, most caring instructor!
Without a doubt, she is the best math professor that I have ever met. I really enjoyed her class for calculus 3 and 4. She is very easy to reach outside of the class and really helps students to fully understand the material, thank you.
She's great professor. She does her best to teach students even by using her personal time. However, her class is kind of on the computational side(rather than conceptual) and easy, so I'm not sure if I've throughly learned the material. I wish her exams were more tough. But I appreciate her passion in teaching, she deserves the respect. Thankyou!
Real nice lady. Her class is based on 5 tests only so make sure to study and be prepared for each test. Doing bad on one can ruin your grade do bad on two and your grade is done. She gives out reviews the week before every test and her exams are based on the review but slightly harder. Would highly recommend her for calc 4.
I took it with professor Roby and failed and retake it with professor Plett and passed. She is really nice and helps you understand the material clearly. Trust me, she is wayy better than professor Roby. I regret it for not taking her class in the first place. The test review is similar to the actual test. I would definitely recommend her to every1
No matter of how good the professor could be, she is definitely terrible at teaching and lecturing. Her lectures are incomprehensible due to VERY fast pace and her inability to care about the comprehension of students during lectures. Her notes are terrible and full of "dry" theory. Examples and HW problems aren't helpful in the most cases.
Her lecture's speed is super fast. Lectures are very messy & difficult to understand.
I took this the summer after my junior year of high school in 2019 and it honestly wasn't too bad of a class. I had never taken a college course before, but I think as long as you go to class and do most problems of the hw (not mandatory), you should be fine. The review/practice exams she gives before every test is basically the same as the tests.
Literally the worst teacher I've ever had in my life. Speaks at 100000 miles an hour. Super difficult to read her hieroglyphic handwriting, not to mention that she moves the screen literally every 10 seconds so you BETTER be good at writing super quickly. Tests are insanely difficult too. Do yourself a favor and skip on her. Really.
One of the worst professor I'd ever take. Goes at the speed of 10000 and doesn't understand what she speaks. Her wifi keeps lagging. She needs to take a good wifi. Her laptop freezes every time during lectures and uses other laptop and still same. Doesn't offer hw or anything for students to increase their grades. If asked for EC, tells to attendSI
Worst professor ever. Doesn't give HW which is a good thing but how is a student suppose to increase their grade. If asked then says attend SI. How is the person gonna even increase grade after attending SI. Very rude at giving replies. Doesn't understand her handwriting. Tests are worst, after studying for so many hours, still difficult to solve.
Please avoid this professor at all cost. She gives lecture in 999mph. I stopped going to the lectures because there's no point so I just rewatch the recording, that way I can pause it. the only extra credit is SI. Clearly doesn't about her students failing. The beginning of the semester there's more than 25 people, now only 12 people left :)
I have no idea why she has good reviews here but she seriously the worst calculus teacher I've ever had. She doesn't teach the concept and only gives sample problems in lectures. More than half of the class withdraw. Only 10 people attended the final lol
Awesome prof! Calc 4 is a hard class but studying pays off, as her tests are very similar to her test review and SI tutor review. If you forget a formula or cant find your simple mistake, you can raise your hand during a test to buy a formula for pts, or if its a small mistake, shell point it out for free. One page formula sheet on last 2 finals
I took her for Math 250A. She was very sweet and helpful but when I took her for 250B, she was some other person. Talks in very fast speed, if told to go slow doesn't do it. She is rude and doesn't know how to respect a student. Tests are horrible. When I took the class there were 35 people and in the final there were only 8 people. Please don't!!!
A LOT of people dropped, but Calc 3 will be hard whoever you take it with. Homework is assigned, not graded, but necessary to understanding concepts (do it!). Grade basically relies 100% on tests and quizzes. Practice exams are exactly like the real ones. Doesn't throw curve balls on exams or quizzes. Plett's very fair, Calc 3 is just challenging.
I took her class over the summer. Very practical with her problems. Pauses and asks the class if they had any questions, tests are extremely similar to practice exams. Attend lecture and SI and you'll do well on tests, I didn't study outside of that. HW is optional. Talk to her about your grade and you will work something out.
Professor Plett is a great math professor. Her lectures are very easy to follow if you pay attention and very thorough. There is no required homework but you want to do the optional homework for practice. Tests are very similar to the optional test reviews too. If you put in the effort you will definitely get an A in the class.
The class is a bit challenging but Prof Plett makes it easy to understand. She can talk a bit fast in the beginning, however, her pace is easy to catch up too. Will take time from lecture to explain problems. Exam reviews are exactly like the test!. If you can, attend SI sessions for a better understanding. No HW required. Good class layout.
my goat.
For such difficult subject material, her genuine enthusiasm for the homework makes it easier to digest. You should definitely do the homework even though it is not required. I also liked that she made it accessible no matter what edition of the textbook you picked up (including the free online versions).
I had a great experience with prof. Plett. I took 250AC with another professor and failed, but when I switched to her class it was much better, which is why I didn't mind having her for 250BC. She's straightforward and talks fast, but you can always ask her to clarify and slow down. Also, she let's you have a whole page cheat sheet for the final.
She has to be the best math professor out there. exams are very similar to the reviews, she's a little tough on the grading but you get what you deserve. She has her approach to simplify any hard concept especially for cals 3. Take her without hesitation.
She is probably by far one of my favorite math professors, she is inspirational and her teaching style is compatible with my learning style which I found to be very helpful. Also the topic of diff equations and lin algebra is fun and she has a deep understanding.
No longer a Cypress student, but for others' sake, I do hope she retires soon. Exams are exactly like her exam reviews, but that's where the positives end imo. Hasn't changed her teaching in her ~40 years at Cypress. Not very clear or detail oriented and goes very quickly. You won't learn in this class. Can also be rather condescending at times.
Professor Plett is enthusiastic about the material, but her fast pace and lack of clarity can make it challenging. The homework is helpful, and Unstuck AI can be a useful study tool. Overall, a difficult class but manageable with effort.
Amazing professor that does their best to help you everytime you ask. Lectures very fast so get ready to pay attention for long periods of time. Lot of material at times. Also test only grade but she gives retakes that can give at most 20% of each test back to you. Really cool professor but you have to put in the effort for these classes of hers.
Great professor that helps you in all the ways possible and is very flexible with schedules and times to take test/retakes. Only downside is that she talks very fast but that is the nature of this class as it has so much material and she tries her best to prepare you.
while the class is based on tests only, which may seem daunting to students, Dr. Plett provides test reviews that show exactly what the test will be like. although calculus 3 isnt a walk in the park by any means, Plett's lectures made it incredibly clear to understand, along with her notes.
If you're the type of person who always puts effort in the class, Prof. Plett is for you. She's a great professor to have. You have to catch up because she talks quite fast, especially for MATH250B. She's the only one teaching MATH250B. If you do the study guides, you'll be solid for the exams. The exams are the biggest priorities and same with EC.
Absolutely no breaks, lectures straight for two hours. Kinda teaches like everyone already knows physics. Spoiler: I didn't :( Talks super fast (rapper vibes?), but is super sweet. DO THE TEST REVIEWS they're identical to the exams. When you're stuck, def go up and ask, since she walks you through it. I lost some aura, but not my exam points.
She's an amazing prof that genuinely cares about her students and provides external resources for extra help. Super approachable and is willing to give her student multiple chances. Although the lectures are heavy, she provides zoom recordings that help.
Professor Plett is a genuinely caring teacher who has a passion for teaching. I had her for multivariable calculus, and my experience in linear algebra and ordinary differential equations was the same. Very kind and open to answering questions. Lenient grader as well, and her test retakes allow your grade to be saved if you get a bad score.
