great teacher, presents material clearly, very helpful
we threw paper airplanes outside and she showed us her iguana, nuff said
Awsome and liberal for a teacher. Awsome.

close to our age--tries to make class easy/fun
Take her she is awesome!!!!!!!!!!
202's a Breeze, take her to get an A
She's just a great teacher. Young and understanding.

She is Hot and an amazing teacher. Young and understands our issues. Her class is fun and interesting-also I learned alot and ended up with a good grade.Highly recommended.
not a lot of work, & she makes class interesting. really straightforward & approachable.. take her :)
Easy class, easy teacher! Youngest teacher in the COB. HOT!
Great Professor, no complaints!
Super cool and super helpful. Quizzes and exams are easy, group project is good, overall a good class. Material can be a little dry and repetitive (because of GCOM) but if you need to take this class, GET THIS PROFESSOR! You won't regret it.
silly class, basically a second gcom, but a necessary evil as a business major. take her, although the material can be dry, she makes it as interesting and fun as possible. great sense of humor!!
great lady...easy class....but still have some work to do...lots of group work...definately a second gcomm
TAKE HER CLASS...no ifs, ands, or buts! She is an awesome professor and knows her stuff. Always willing to help and wants you to do well! Truly cares about her students and understands what if means to take a day off!
You are out of your mind if you take anybody else for COB 202. The class is just GCOM all over again, and she is a fantastic teacher. She really involves the class and she keeps you awake.
very easy and very nice
Best teacher you can get for 202. Guarenteed A. i call it GCOM-2. nicest lady who is cool as ****. allowed up to 5 absenses. only 2 tests, presentation, a paper, and some easy quizzes. avg midterm/exam grades were 88 and 80, respectively
GCOM part 2. Easy daily reading quizzes. Tests are a little more difficult. Requires attendance. Boring material was almost all covered in GCOM. Great teacher for 202.
the class is just easy. she just reads off the lecture slides so it gets kinda boring dont' sit in front if you wanna sleep
Took her for MGT 372 as well! She is an awesome teacher! Always willing to help and goes the extra mile to make sure you understand the material. You should definately take her for COB 202 or MGT 372! She's great!
Tests come exactly off power point slides (which aren't too tough to memorize). Very interesting subject and nice teacher.
Tests and cases are easy...kinda tough grader and very strict about the late policy, and participation counts way too much (100 points), but overall very good professor
awesome teacher! we had show & tell the first week of class! the class is basically like GCOM2 and is very easy. I thought our group did an average presentation with an average amount of work, but we got a 100 on it. she is SUPER nice and a lot of fun
Prof Roeder is always willing to help in and out of class. She was very partial to a group of boys in my class which got a little irritating, but other than that her class was good and she did a good job teaching it with a lot of real-world experience.
Great teacher. Powerpoint slides help a lot and tests are right from them. Participation counts for a lot...but a great teacher overall!
I half assed it and got a B -- easy class, enjoyable group work -- some EC is offered -- deff. consider taking
This teacher will base everything off of her opinion, and shes not a doctor so that is not allowed, clearly. Oh and shes not hot. Whoever wrote that is strange. Shes so opinionated and bases nothing on facts.
Boring material, everything is from the textbook. Seems very biased in grading of the project, you better get on her good side. Take her for 202, but no good for 372.
Loved this prof--one of my favorites at JMU--very helpful and is there anytime you need her. Class not hard, but gotta come to class and do the case study...wish they had more like her in the COB!
Great Teacher!! Helpful, tests questions come straight from slides, do the case studies, and speak ocassionally in class for participation points. Easy and interesting class.
Very difficult to get an A. She is biased in her grading of many assignments. Believes her course is physics. Dont make the mistake of thinking you can sleep through this course and get an A. TAKE SOMEONE ELSE who doesnt consume your entire sophomore year!
HOT teacher...great class
Good teacher and Very understanding. I would definitely take a class with Prof. Roeder again. Recommended!!!
Straightforward and fun. Go to class and talk occasionally. All the tests come straight from slides and the chapter objectives that she hands out. The group project is kind of long, but ask for help.
This is such an easy class. Its mostly common sense and she really makes it even easier. The tests are ok. You just have to study the book and the powerpoints. She gives 6 quizes and drops the lowest. SHE'S GREAT!!
Basically this class is pretty easy, but be prepared to say something in every class or she'll gip you out of participation points. Just say nonsense if you have to, shes that anal about it. But overall not that hard to get an A.
Nice prof., straight-forward. Don't try to win back points since there isn't much stuff that's graded. A large portion of ur grade comes from participation, 150 out of 675 points. Exams are reasonable. 6 quizzes, drops one. Very interactive class, nice gpa buffer. Highly recommended
Great prof. but strict with everything. Be prepared before you go to class. 2 Tests are hard(but they look very straight-forward). Get as much as participation grade if possible, try to get higher grades on Group Presentation and you will be fine. Not hard to get a B.
roeder's nice, the class is pretty easy. You don't really learn much and the team project sucks a lot. But other than that it's a pretty easy class.
I really liked Roeder. She is strict about attendance but other than that is very willing to help with work/projects. Group work is the same as other COB classes I have taken. Participation is important and the tests aren't bad. Take this class!
I really enjoyed Roeder teaching this class and will actively seek her out to teach any further COB classes I need.
Very laid back and open class with not much work aside from semester long consulting project. Class disscussion and guest speakers occur frequently. Tests are literally straight from her powerpoints and chapter objectives. There is no reason to not get at least a B if you go to class everyday and do all the assignments.
I love Roeder! She really makes the class enjoyable. Her lecture style is easy to follow and she is such a laid back person. So approachable, lots of office hours. Gives large group project but sympathizes and gives alot of opportunity for feedback. Go to office hours. Get to know her. Participate. Easy B & higher. TAKE HER!!!!
Great professor, and she's very easy. Total hottie, too. Definitely take her if you can
She has been my favorite teacher at JMU so far! She can easily relate to her students and makes things funny and interesting. She is an easy teacher and really cares about her students. The participation grade and attendance policy are kind of strict and could possibly bring down your grade, but other than that she's awesome!
Professor Roeder was excellent. I never dreaded going to class and most everything she taugh was extremely relevant to no only Business majors but everyone. The group project was really time consuming, but it balanced out because we didn't have many other outside-of-class assignments. Great experience with this class due to Prof Roeder!
Professor Roeder is a nice lady but mediocre professor. Does not really explain what she expects to see on your assignments. Grades seem to depend on her mood. She will randomly take off 1 or 2 points off your assignments so ridiculous reasons. If you dont like raising your hand in class, do not take see takes point off participation.
Roeder is a extremely nice. You don't get a ton of homework however there is a reading quiz on every chapter. She tends to be a pretty tough grader on assignments and will take off points for the smallest things. Attendance is mandatory and participation is a bigger part of the grade. However, shes a really great professor, definitely take her!
She is a very talkative professor that loves getting the class involved. Just as other people have said participation is a big part of your grade which should not be a surprise since the class is called Interpersonal Skills. She does everything fairly and I would definently recommend her, especially if you are applying to Antwerp for COB 300.
Fairly challenging for a 202 class. She was a good teacher, and class was always interesting - but she expects a lot out of the students, especially with participation. Overall, good teacher, just not the easy A that a lot of students were hoping to get.
do not take her if you aren't an honor student. treats the other class the same way. is a very hard grader. a lot of the grade is based on participation and the group project. class is all discussion 99% of the time and gets very dull and redundant
I loved professor Roeder's class, she made everyone participate and work together so you ACTUALLY get to meet and talk with everyone in the class, she was very helpful during her office hours a is extremely nice. We have quizzes on each chapter but they are very straightforward and just follow directions on her assignments and you will be good togo
Definitely the best professor I've had in the College of Business.
Professor Roeder is nice, interesting, and fair. The class is overall pretty easy, 9 quizzes, 1 of which gets dropped, no tests, and the other main part of the grade is the group project which she grades fairly easily. Definitely a class you should get an A/A- in.
Do not take mrs. roeder
Professor Roeder is an amazing professor! The biggest assignment is of course the group project so make sure to do well on that. Her assignments are not that difficult and she grades FAIRLY. I would definitely recommend her for 202.
Roeder is awesome! She's a fantastic teacher and great lady, and really cares about teaching. If you go to class you'll get a B, but it's really hard to get an A.
9 quizzes on each chapter and 1 is dropped but if you read you can easily get a B on all of them, read more in depth to get an A. Grades group presentation pretty harshly and it's 150 points of your grade. Must participate in class because she doesn't just give away participation points. Nice professor, easy B but have to work hard for an A
9 quizzes, group work, memo and business letter. She is picky and the way she grades really doesn't make sense, her class requires a lot. Try to avoid her if you can, but she is not that bad. Not a easy A class
Very nice professor! Very difficult to receive an A. Biggest part of grade is the reading quizzes (9 total) and the group project. She also grades very harshly on the group project. If you are up for a challenge, take the class, otherwise if you are slacker and don't like to read, take another professor.
Professor Roeder is an excellent professor. It's for sure not an easy A, but if you put in the work you're good to go. Her lectures are interesting and relevant. A lot of work, but I would take her again.
Professor Roeder is a great COB 202 teacher! She tells you exactly what she wants from every assignment (there is only three and then 9 quizzes). She makes class short and sweet. Lets you leave early all the time! She really cares about her students and it makes a world of difference. Honestly best COB 202 teacher! Great person to know at JMU
She takes this class way too seriously, when it is basically GCOM. The class itself is not very challenging but she wont let anyone get an A. She has weekly quizzes that are kind of challenging if you don't read and she makes papers and assignments due on the day of the quizzes. A lot of busy work, boring lectures.
Getting a B can be done with minimal work, but if you want anything higher, its going to require a lot of work. 9 quizzes that aren't easy if you don't read, grades the group presentation pretty hard. But always looked forward to class cause she's a pretty chill person.
Is a good professor that makes a really easy class fairly difficult because of how hard a grader she is
The easiness rating is misleading. You MUST have a good work ethic and participate to do well in this class. She can be stubborn and pick favorites, but she wants this class to be taken seriously. Study for the quizzes and have some guts to PARTICIPATE. Participation is huge. Group project sucks, so just do it. Ask for help too! She loves that
Roeder is a good professor, and shes a nice person. She tends to downplay her tests and projects though, so they're a lot harder than expected. She also doesnt give specific directions for the final project that makes it confusing. You have to show up to class and participate in order to do well, participation is huge. Overall, not a bad class.
This class, although very easy, is extremely frustrating. The grading works against you to make it very easy to get a B but hard to get an A. She's not clear on what she wants for the major assignments and yet takes points off for the smallest details. If you want an A, stay on top of everything for the whole semester.
This class seems easy and to an extent it is, but she does not make it easy at all. All the course work is simple but she makes things so much harder than they should be. She grades so harshly, and when you go to office hours, she refrains from giving you the information you need to succeed. Participation is a big part of your grade.
Unnecessarily harsh grader, she takes one of the few GPA boosting classes for COB and makes it extremely difficult to get an A. Lectures are air filled and don't prepare you for the tests. I completely believe I put in enough effort to earn an A and I got stuck with a B. Would avoid if a better option is available.
Roeder is extremely nice and wants her students to do well. She makes her grading criteria very simple and there is not much work involved in the class at all. Tests are all multiple choice and once group presentation. Easy A-, she knows a lot also so you learn a lot.
Take Ms. Roeder for 202! Class consists of 3 tests, participation and a group project (worth a lot of your grade). Very clear grading criteria! She genuinely cares about her students and wants them to do well. She is very personable and approachable outside of class! Love her and I hope to have her again as a teacher in the future.
Nice lady, but I feel like her lectures are inconsistent with test questions. 2 test (50 mc each, each worth 20%) & no final. Group project (20%), participation (20%) easy money, 2 journal article assignments 10%, & mini-presentation. Would recommend, but make sure you understand stuff very well before taking exams.
Prof. Roeder makes the tests harder than they need to be. She is also very precise on grading. The class seems easy, but her tests cause you to study more than you should have to for the class.
She is one of the most challenging but wonderful professors I've come across. She is very responsive with e-mails & ready to help you outside class as well. 3 Exams; Group PPT i.e. 150 pts (Choose your own group), Agenda/Minutes, other activity.. That's all there is to this class really. You get to learn a lot & improve your interpersonal skills.
Roeder is a good choice for 202. She is very honest, direct, and competent. she genuinely has a passion for the material in 202 and wants to see her students do well. Lectures are interesting and worth going to. USE THE WILEY PLUS SOFTWARE THAT COMES WITH YOUR TEXTBOOK as it was super helpful for the tests!!!!
Not terrible, just average professor. 2 Exams( both are relatively hard SO YOU NEED THE TEXTBOOK). 1 project that is a little fun, and journal assignments. Don't do the journals last minute or she WILL know and give a bad grade. Honestly will have to work hard for A but class is within B- to B+ range for average students. If all else fails she ok
Prof Roeder is a very caring professor and outlines her requirements very well. If you do not show up for class it's very hard to pass but you do everything she assigns you'll be set. She has a quick response times to emails and is willing to meet with you if need be. Overall a great professor!
Initially, I was content with her overall teaching strategy and feedback she gave me following the usual irregular mini class speeches. However, you will learn that she is not against harsh grading penalizations for trivial mistakes. The course material does not in any regard match the level of seriousness she takes of either the class or herself
This professor will not give you the grade you deserve; plan on spending massive amounts of time on assignments of which she will nitpick over very minor issues. She will make it close to near impossible for an A, even if you put in the work which is very frustrating. Though, I will say she is a nice woman and genuinely cares about her job.
I absolutely adore this professor. Class is mandatory, textbook really is not (all her lectures have textbook information). The two tests are open notes, and super easy. I would take her again 100%. She also is experienced in the business world.
Professor Roeder is a great teacher. She's very knowledgeable about the business world. You'll definitely learn a lot of helpful things from her class. Online lectures, 2 exams (pretty decent), 2 mini-presentations (individual and group), and 1 SharkTank project. Participation matters.
Love Professor Roeder, she's super knowledgeable and nice, very caring as well, but be prepared to put in time for work and studying. Exams and projects are reasonable but for the articles homework she is very specific about grading those and what she looks for so beware. You should get a lot out of this class and it will be worth the time put in.
She really does care about her job. She may be a tough grader but if you put in the work you will do just fine. 2 big group projects (which every 202 class will have) and 2 exams on canvas in class. Most fridays are self study days so you don't have to go to class.
Super nice woman. She was really accessible outside of the classroom and genuinely wanted her students to succeed. If you needed help with something, she would help you. She has very clear expectations and grading guidelines, so it's easy to succeed. The exams do take some effort and studying, but nothing overly difficult. Super easy to get an A.
Professor Roeder is great. She is very knowledgeable and really wants her students to do well. There are 2 big exams, 4 papers, and quite a few projects but they are not busy work. Genuinely learned a lot from this class and enjoyed going.
Professor Roeder is a caring instructor who genuinely wants students to succeed. While the course has some challenges, using resources like the textbook's Wiley Plus software and unstuck study can help you navigate the material. Attend class, put in the work, and you'll do well.
The class can be tough overall, but she is a really fair teacher, and she really wants you to learn and do well in the class. One big project takes a lot of work, but if you have a good group and try, you will do well. The tests are pretty hard but are mostly definitional, so pay attention and study. Would Take again.
Love Professor Roeder; she is hilarious. The better the class fascinates discussion, the better she will teach. The class is MWF, but she cancels about 80% of the Friday classes to give students time to catch up on work and complete online lectures. 2 presentations, with one big one, she provides excellent direction for completion. Write ups+2 exams
Prof Roeder is a such a sweet person. If you participate and engage in class, she will love you. Personally this course was difficult and I did not do well on the exams but if you really study you should be fine. She is great!
