Mrs. W was fair and always availabe at office hours for help. If you are in the class you better work hard because she doesn't lower her standards for anyone. At first she seemed strict but eased up after Spring Break. People who want to get over should not take her class.

I just got my midterm grade. I have an A. Mrs. Washington explains alot of stuff to us; some of the grammar I already know but I guess some of the other people don't. She's cool but don't eat in her class or text.AND DO THE DRAFTS AND WORK. Those points add up.

I have a high b right now, an 87. I hope she gives some "you tried hard points." I like this class 'cause we basically get to pick our own topics. It's hard to write about something you don't like. Anyway I think I have a good grade 'cause of the topic choice. I agree with the poster who said the drafting points add up. Extra credit helps.

Bring your book all the time. We do alot of practice exercises w/o the book, but some days she'll bust out, "Turn in your text..." Irks me. She also has bad hair. But whatever; she has helped me w/extra drafts on all the papers. I can't complain. And I think I can use a semicolon and can sustain a thesis. Does that make me a good writer? Duh?

I really enjoyed her class. She was always hard on herself, and sometimes unsure of herself, but I learned a lot in class, and she gave me a lot of confindence to write. Not a lot of people in the class liked her way of teaching, but I found it helpful and interesting. And she brought food every once in a while which was always nice!

Always told me exactly what I was doing wrong and right. I liked this about her. I like how she responds to my email & stays xtra to help. Students who don't like her is because she makes you work. You earn your grade. No freebies from her. Lowers your participation grade for texting. Hates texting.

This teacher was so much fun. She is fun to be around and I learned so much from her! I came in to her class with having two years of off schooling just to work, and with a learning disability, and ended up with an A in her class. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

This was my favorite class. She's very funny and energetic and gives good feedback on essays especially if you email them. It is easier to read than the ones she writes on. I think she's pretty cute too for someone her age.

Not a CRC student. She was my teacher at ITT. Totally helpful. Some teachers act like you are bothering them; she always helped me get ideas. And I agree with the person who said she is cute. Shes a nice teacher-She knows what shes doing and shes clear about her work. She does in-class essays and she has essays that are to be written at home. The down fall of this teacher is if shes having a bad day, she shows it. I seen her rolling her eyes at students before. And she likes to tease students jokingly at times.

My 2nd ses. w/ her! She's awesome, enthusiastic & funny. She loves to tease students sometimes, but it's harmless, so no worries. I love JLC by Amy Tan. She made a good choice. Quite a few essays, but it's worth it. She's very open with ideas. She's sad if you don't contribute in class. It's really a shame for just sit there and do nothing. Cool.

I love her. She is positive and make us work. She doesn't doubt us for a second. She tries to get us to talk. There was alot of writing. It's not a class to take if you are lazy.

She makes you write ALOT. If you don't want to write papers, then take another class. My friend's class wrote four papers. We wrote about eight or ten if you count what we did in class. She wants you to learn the basics. Lets you pick the topic. Pretty good.

Ms. Washington is a great professor. On the first day of class she was kind of intimidating, but as the class moved forward she bacame my favorite teacher of the semester. I have the hardest time in english, but her class is very helpful, precise, and clear.

I enjoyed her class. She liked to joke around and knew all of the students on a first name or last name basis. She tried to get all of her students to engage in discussion. Read the textbooks assigned because they're important for quizzes and papers! We had 6 major papers and about 10 Outrage summary responses. Just do your work and go to class!

Explains everything very clearly, I started with a low grade, but because of her teaching style, my grade has improved, a lot! Always willing to explain something for you. Always have her look at your work during office hours!! Office hours has also helped me a lot. Attendance is mandatory. She doesn't like you using a phone or tablet during class.

She's clear about what she expects and wants in students. Easy going and reasonable. Gives an opportunity to rewrite papers towards the end of the semester. Mandatory attendance.

She's the only teacher that encourages everyone to interact with each other. She's hilarious, offers extra credit, she even sends out emails to thank students and encourage them. Her class is the least boring (I usually hate English class). She brings her personal life and students lives to compare and discuss situations, making it easy to learn.

I don't enjoy writing, but after this class, I felt that my writing skills improved. Had to write 5 essays ranging from 3 to 5 pages. There were lots of interesting class discussions in which she encouraged student input. Great sense of humor, very approachable, and gave straightforward feedback on essays. This professor never once gave up on me all term. It did not matter if I stood out in class as the most difficult to approach. Professor Washington strives each day to do her best giving inspiration to each one of her students. In professor Washington's class expect to (write 4 summaries) that you will be reading in the course textbook and to write (5 essays) throughout the semester. Either than that she's a really cool layback professor. All you have to do is just show up and put the time and effort in your papers and you should be able to pass her class.

Professor Washingtons class was always something I looked forward to. I hate class but she made it so enjoyable and she is hilarious. Its never boring in her class. She does have a lot of things due but its not hard at all. Word of advice: since there are always assignments due you should right them in a planner so you dont forget to do them.

Professor Washington expects nothing but the best from all of her students. So, as a student, do your best and she will help you with whatever it is you need. Have a question? She has an answer. But if you don't show up for class, then do not expect a passing grade. All assignments are doable. I took her for summer, and passed with an 85.24%.

Professor Washington is great! She makes class enjoyable. I dread English but the way she teaches makes you like coming to class. Shes very funny and truly cares about her students. Participation is important so that class doesn't get boring and she isn't the only one talking, but she doesn't make participation mandatory.

Its an interesting class. She gives you a choice in how you want to be graded : journal or quiz. I recommend the journals; they are easier. Final project is your own choice, so thats good. Shes approachable-knows everyones name.

You will pass if you put in the effort. Make sure you read the books assigned there are quizzes. Total of 4 essays. The last essay is the final and is 8 pages. She always complimented my essays even though I did them last minute. Many extra credit opportunities. Very lenient, would often push back due dates. Gave feedback on every assignment!

Professor Washingtons class was really enjoyable. All the discussions had different topics and made the reading interesting. There is no text book required but there were two books that we had to purchase that was needed for assignments and papers. My suggestion is, if you don't keep up with the reading and the discussion board, you'll fail.

I really admire Professor Washington. She was one of the few English professors at CRC that I taught me how to develop my creativity and writing process. She was intimidating at first, but she really is a caring and understanding professor. Id recommend her if youre ready to improve your critical thinking and writing skills.

I think that if you did alright in your high school English class, then you'll do well in this class as well. If you are unfamiliar with how to format in MLA style, you'll definitely want to pay close attention. I think she takes a bit too many points off for small grammatical errors. One required book, free at the library. VERY easy Extra Credit.

Super encouraging and definitely cares about her student's success. Course is fairly easy and doable, except for essays, which we got about a week to write (it was a summer course though). She'll take the time to email you with helpful videos and explanations if she noticed something you needed help with and has office hours for help.
