She is a good professor, explains concepts well. If you show up to class and study a bit you can easily get an A. Sometimes her test questions are a bit tricky but that's common of all professors.
I took professor Zambrano for Psychology of Women. This professor was one of the best I have received in my whole 3 years at Rutgers. She is helpful, considerate, cooperative, and informative. I recommend everyone to take any class they can with her because they won't regret it.
Best Prof.!! You will learn a great deal while having fun. Always brings interesting topics to class. Easy A, if you take notes. Attendance is not require but she will give extra credits without notice and they are due by next class. Extra credits are not hard at all but rather fun and interactive. Best of Luck!!
So, so...test are hard!
I took her for developmental psych. You dont have to go to class, but i always did. As long as you study the power points and skim through the book for clarity you should be fine. I ended up with an A in the class. Also gives extra credit but its only said in class and it's due on the next class day. Take her if you ever get the chance!
She's a nice lady and goes out of her way to help but her class is BORING soo boring & she gives extra credit however she's also careless and she forgets stuff and shes a little all over the place but still i would recommend her cause shes easy got an A but keep in mind her class is boring
Honestly love this professor! She is always more than available to help you become successful. Some days can be boring, but if you do all your work and participate, there's no way you could fail.
Psych of Religion. Absolute sweetheart. She tries her best to help her students and always gives extra credit to boost your grade. Extremely lenient grader. Debate your grades as a class & easily get 8-16pt curve. 2 quizzes & 2 exams, drops lowest quiz, 1 5pg paper or presentation. Boring class but easy A!
Professor Z, is the best. That's all. She's extremely intelligent and open to learning from her students. She's great with answering e-mails and questions. This girl always has a smile on her face and classes are only boring if you don't ask questions and/or engage in the material.
Basically everything that was lectured in class were on the exams. Just make sure to attend every class and take good notes, easy A. She does not take attendance but that's where the extra credit comes into play-this will help you boost your final grade. In all her classes are very interesting and i would def recommend her!!
The best professor there is at Rutgers. I have had her for about 7 courses, and would take her for 7 more. She truly is the most genuine, caring, helpful professor I have had in my four years at Rutgers. Having her motivated me to not only declare my major, but study harder in all my courses. DEFF recommend her to anyone willing to put in effort.:)
I took Dr. Z-V for research Methods a second time after having a horrible experience with another professor which I received a terrible grade in the first time around. The second time taking research methods with Dr. Z-V I received an A. The shows how much Dr. Z-V truly cares about her students! Labs are essential and lectures are very important
Dr. Zambrano is a great professor! She's funny, explains everything clearly, answers ALL questions and doesn't make classes super long. I would suggest going to class but it's not that bad at all. If you pay attention, exams should be a piece of cake. I didn't buy the book and got a B+.
Super fun class ! She breaks down the material and applies it to every day scenarios! she is funny, clear and makes it really easy to understand. Her exams are "ok" not super easy but not difficult. I love that the class way hybrid all psy. class should be like that! ugh if she did 101 I would take her without a doubt! (she is so adorable lol)
Her classes are all hybrids with biweekly posts that are easy to forget to do since she rarely talks about them in class. Her lectures are extremely boring and the wording on her tests can be confusing even if you study. If you have an option to take gengaro over her do it!
She's a really cool and funny professor. As long as you go to her lectures, her exams should be pretty easy because whatever she says there will be inputted into the exams. come to class on time and don't leave early because the very beginning and very end of class is when she assigns extra credit. She is quick with it so be sure to listen.
She's really nice and tries her best to make the class interesting, most of the time successfully. Her tests are easy and she lets you drop your lowest grade. Highly recommend taking the hybrid. You don't have to do as many r points.
She is a chill professor but her exams are HARD. She will even admit this to you. I am taking a hybrid with her and have done solid on the discussion board portion of the class on Blackboard, but did terribly on her exam. Proceed with caution.
Generic, attempts to be funny in relation to the content, overall wants students to do well. Tests are vague and recitations are spent arguing over wordplay, they're also difficult. Going to lecture allows the chance for extra credit assignments. Do your reading, go to lecture even though attendance is not taken, and you'll squeak out a B.
The worst Psych professor I had every experience. I did perfect on her discussion board post but her exams are TOUGH. Lecture are boring but you need to go to class for extra credit assignments. Take at your own risk. I would never take her again
The professor does not grade things on time, takes more than a week to respond to your email(main complaints among classmates), and is directionless with the course assignments. After the complaints piled up, the TA objected to the professor about unclear directions on assignments and got our points back. THE worst professor in my academic career.
This is the 3rd class Ive taken with her and Ive gotten an A all times. Yes, her exams based solely off the textbook. She doesnt make it mandatory to go to class but gives EC during class. She teaches online classes but she always responded to my emails in a timely fashion and was very personable. Do not take if youre a bad exam taker.
Stay away from this professor and take Gengaro if possible to save enormous amount of headache. The exams are very tricky and long. The lectures won't help you so don't bother going. If you must take her, read the textbook for exams and be ready for an exam with 10 short essays and at least 30 multiple choice questions. Avoid her!!
Horrible quality! If you are used to van de walle or other respected psych professors at RU, you will be greatly disappointed. She sets the difficulty as high as van de walles but she doesn't deliver the same quality lecture as van de walle. Most of the lecture time is spent doing discussions which won't help you at all on her exams. THE WORST prof
I am a psychology major and just took her spring 302. She is the worst psych professor you will ever take.I wasn't bothered by the exams but by the amount of irrelevant assignments. It's a four credit course but trust me it will feel like more. She is a harsh grader on the discussion boards so write as much as you can if you care about your grade.
Not to be mean but zero star for her performance. Do not take her for experimental. She isn't qualified to teach such an advanced class. The lack of professionalism and her little knowledge of the subject matter will put your semester at a high stress level. Not helpful at all.
Got an A in her methods class but she is terrible. She forgets a lot of things and waits till the last min to grade your discussion posts. She is a joke in the sense that she has no leadership and all you will get to hear during the semester is your TA and fellow classmates complaining about how confused they are....
Friendly but a terrible teacher. Reads off the slide and does BS class discussion. Don't go to lecture. She doesn't take attendance. Just read the textbook and learn it on your own. Exams aren't so bad if you read the textbook. Take Gengaro if he's available.
Participation is 5% so attendance mandatory for both lecture and lab. Textbook is free and this is more useful than her lecture. She is the worst one in the psych department so get ready to read on your own. Bad!
Zero star. Her lectures are boring and not informative. The class will drive you crazy because the exams are written by herself and is filled with so many questions accompanied by contradicting answer choices. When you confront her with evidence from the book she gets defensive and berates you. The worst and not professional.
She has a sweet personality, but I would not recommend her for experimental 302. The amount of work is insane for a four credit course. Especially the discussion boards are very annoying and will take up so much of your time. She says she follows a rubric, but the grading seems very random. Chaos. Not recommended.
I took Dr. Z for professional writing and psychotherapy! Both online. She is a very good professor. She is clear and replies fast to emails. Her assignments arent boring because you actually learn and interpret urself with the assignment. COllege isnt about being easy, work load is heavy, but do-able!
Finished her summer session. First time taking her. Structured very heavily in regards to workload for just a 3credit course. I was not expecting an easy route but this seemed a little bit too unfair. Some of the assignments were just irrelevant and were put there to take up space. I would not recommend her to my friends.
She is one of the worst psych professors I've ever had. Assigned topics for exams are inconsistent. Provides no feedback on assignments. She took two months to grade our discussion boards when on syllabus it is stated to be done weekly. Save your semester and take Dr. Gengaro or Dr. Gorman
she is not a good lecturer. Therefore you will not learn much and get much help from the lecture for the exams. The exams are very long with essays in the end. I recommend reading the textbooks. If you can avoid her and take someone else do that.
Horrible quality. I was so confused because some of her assignments did not sync with the pace of her lectures. During class she makes you engage in time consuming discussions but I had wished that she would focus more on explaining the material. also she just regurgitates textbook definitions in class. Awful!
Tough grader with no clear grading criteria. Just grades you without any feedbacks and you are left with a question mark. The course is stacked with lots and lots of work. I will not be taking her again for these reasons.
A big mistake taking her course. I did not like her way of just reading the slides. This style was not helpful at all on the exams. I attended all her lectures. She is not good and you will not enjoy this course. I'm never signing up for her again
Took many courses with her. All easy As. People that left bad reviews probably do not pay attention in class. That's all you have to do. She makes her MC exam questions directly from stuff she has said in class. Take notes, study them and you should ace every exam, every time. She's a sweetheart. Passionate and caring.
By far one of the best professors Ive had. Shes great! Her lectures are so interesting she explains everything thoroughly and uses examples that relate back to your own life. Lecture notes are lowkey enough to pass this class. I had the book and I barely looked at it. You just always have to be present during lectures, she takes random attendance
Easy class, listen during lectures and take notes and you are guaranteed to get a good grade. Grade is essentially determined by three tests so if you do well on that then you're fine
Took DR.Z for 2 courses (Psychotherapy & professonal writing). Both online course but she still provided the best student to professor interaction through her assignemnts and via email. I would take her class again!! one of the best psy professors!
No clear grading criteria and has an issue following the syllabus, and updating it when she admits we're behind. Very confused at times and she's really nice but I don't want nice I want a mentor and a teacher, her slides are outdated, she'll use old slides but the exams are new and have material the slides don't cover.
I don't see why so much fuss. If you read the text and go to lecture you will do fine on the exam
You have to I repeat HAVE to takes when she's talking because she gives examples and that's what will be on the test... not definitions. Power points are helpful so that's brownies points. Shes big on attendance which is done with at the end of class or during class where you would hand in an in class assignment. Taking again because she's fair.
I think her class is a hate or love it kind of thing. Some students love her because shes nice but as someone said I want a teacher not a nice person. We are in college not in kindergarten. The class structure is not organized and she even admits that shes behind stuff. Read the textbook and you will be fine but dont expect to learn a lot.
surprised by all these comments, this is my second time taking her and she is one of my favorite professors by far. She simplifies things as much as possible and relates to real life. her lectures are fun and interactive
Kinda fun, cool class. Would take her again. Don't email her, she answers weeks later
I was expecting a lot more from Zambrano, she seemed to "know" what she was talking about at the beginning of the semester but that quickly faded. I learned NOTHING in the 2 classes I took with her in 1 semester. Her lectures are vague as well as her examples. I had to rely on internet study websites to pass this course. AVOID if possible.
took her for cross cultural psych. and psych 102, attend class, take notes of the things she says, and you will do great. she's an awesome Dr. absolutely love her style of teaching.
Good at answering student questions and very open to new ideas. Be aware that the curriculum on the syllabus is more of a guidline than a schedule. If you have any questions ask shes willing to work with people in and out of class
Professor Zambrano is very sweet and caring, she does an amazing job at lectures and if you don't understand the topic, she'll explain it to you. However, when it comes to the exams it is very difficult because she uses multiple choice and sometimes you get confused by the answers because she changes the words. You need to read the module!
Had her for PSYCH 102, she's actually a really nice person and she does care for her students. But her lecture can be confusing because she skips around a lot. Her exam questions are nothing like the slides she shows us, like instead of definitions she uses examples and we have to choose the 'correct one'. There are extra credit opportunities tho
She posts her lectures but they don't have much. Mainly pictures and definition words (no definitions or examples). She doesn't display organizational skills and her exams ask you to label each example as one of the definition words rather than just asking for the definition. I genuinely learned nothing from this class and am looking for a new prof
She is a great professor. down to earth. Attendance is mandatory and she gives extra credit when you do show up more than usual. Also if you miss class you won't understand the powerpoint so you'd have to go in for office hours or ask someone in class. She uses real world concept to define the lectures which is great!!
Dr. Z is a really great prof. Her lectures are hilarious and she includes real life concepts which really helped me remember the information. Her exams are a little tough, so you have to study the lecture material really well and check for any trip up answer choices. Sometimes she skips over material in the lectures, but I still learned a lot :)
Great professor really tries to give you enough stuff to pass. Lectures arent boring at all! Great professor to take!
She gives the textbook online for free! Super hilarious and charismatic professor that makes you interested in psychology and is passionate about all things psychology. Her quizzes are harder than the exams which are hard so be ready. Always go to lab. Participate in class, it will help keep you ready for the surprise clicker questions. Amazinglady
She is a very kind and sweet professor but the lectures can be a bit confusing. She tends to skip around much and slides themselves have little no information on them, besides the words you need to know (which don't even have the definition).
Speaks to only those sitting at front.
Lectures were never boring, always uses examples of her kids and real life scenarios so it makes it easier to remember potentially difficult lessons. Everything discussed in class is on the quizzes/exams, she does not trick you and put random things on them. Textbook is not necessary, but inquisitive tool (online) is needed, is also helpful on exam
Dr. Z is a professor who actually cares about her students. She usually has bad reviews because her test are scenario based q's and people don't like that. I've taken Dr. Z three times and haven't gotten less than a B+. She gives a lot of extra credit as well so that's a BIG plus.
She is the best professor I have had. I barely studied for the final exam and midterm because her lecture were so clear and understable. She made psychology enjoyable. i would def take this class again!
Loved her! Very involved with students during lectures. Makes the material relate to the students and the exams are scenarios rather than straightforward definitions.
great professor + very carrying! she makes lectures fun and interactive a bit. grading is simple + straight forward. online book comes with the hw assignments. i would take her again for any other course!
If you would have asked me before COVID and online classes, I would have told you Zambrano is a good professor. But taking her for 302 now she is TERRIBLE. you will literally spend the whole week trying to get done her assignments and the TA I had didn't even help and would ALWAYS contradict herself. Zambrano only post 14 min lecture videos.
Super caring and nice professor. She made the online semester super easy. Would recommend her to anyone interested in taking psych. Clicker quizzes are only 5 questions and easy if you watch her videos.
Professor Z was cool didnt really have any issues with her took her online cause of COVID shes friendly and sweet. Assignments is straightforward a quiz due on Sunday or a discussion it will definitely be harder if you dont read the textbook. If you do your straight lectures didnt help in my opinion just read the book honestly.
This class was asynchronous and it was really easy to get in contact with her with any questions/concerns you may have had. She posts videos of herself teaching the chapter and give you work that goes along, nothing time consuming. If you read and follow along the materials given, this class should be an easy A.
The professor was ok but nothing to write home about. I took her remote class which is mostly facilitated by the TA. Just go with the motions and do the assignments correctly and you will get an A. Read the textbook because the lectures will not prepare you for higher level psy classes. I learned a lot from the reading activities.
Prof. Z is absolutely GREAT! Her material is very interesting & you can tell she really cares. Since it is such a huge class, you really will mostly be in contact with your TA's. Reach out, ask questions, read, and complete your assignments. Pace yourself because the work is time consuming and better done beforehand. Tests/Quizzes are based on PPs.
anyone can pass with an A or B if you put it in enough work. make sure you do all the extra credit, go to office hours and contact your TA as much as possible when working on your research paper. get everything checked and double-checked by them. that's how you'll get the highest possible scores.
This course requires you to turn in assignments each week. The assignments include InQuizitives, research assignments that are fairly easy, a midterm, and a final. Make sure to attend lectures and answer polls if the class is online because attendance counts. As long as you pay attention and retain the information, you will pass. Recommend this!
This class is super easy and interesting. There are not many assignments, what matters most is your participation and attendance. I took this class hybrid meaning online one day and a in person recitation. Read the textbook and take notes and youll do great. Shes a great professor!
Such a caring and sweet professor! She responds as quickly as possible and is very understanding! Her lectures are very interesting. Such an easy class, make sure you pay attention, attend lectures, and do weekly assignments on time and you should pass the midterm and final!
LOVE HER! Def take her no hesitation. Do the inquizitives, go to recitation, do the extra credit , study for quizzes, and hand homework in on time. You will pass. Build a bond with her she is very approachable and cares about her students. You guys have to put in the work and you will get a reward out !
love her! shes nice and her enthusiasm for psych makes the class interesting. assignments are easy and she gives you lots of chances to get a good grade. recitation attendance is mandatory but its helpful going. taking notes is important and if you put the effort in, youll do just fine.
She's very nice but it's her teaching methods that I'm not the biggest fan of. Her slides arent that helpful when it comes down to preparing for quizzes/exams. Make sure to read the textbook.
I took her for both Psych 102 and Psych 302 (Research). I loved her in psych 102 but it went downhill in 302. Which now explains why some students have a biased opinion toward her. Labs on the other hand are easy and such a breeze. Keep in mind that you present in your labs towards the end of the semester.
She usually takes 2-3 days to go over 1 chapter which isn't necessary. She uses most of the time trying to have classmates talk to each other and state examples that will match the topics we currently go over. Sometimes gives out extra credit. Labs were easier than class personally.
She's a caring and comforting person but as a professor, i want someone who can teach not be nice.
I barely attended class because I didn't learn much. Her slides are empty and she didn't provide any study guide until the final since it's cumulative. And if I'm being honest even tho I got an A, the exams are a bit vague or confusing since it's scenario-based. But if you read the textbook you should be good to go.
her lectures mainly consist of pictures and definition words (no examples). she doesn't display organizational skills.
Does not communicate with student with us trying to get help. Never responds to emails. Does not try to help student succeed. Makes student think they will pass and then fail them.
the absolute worst professor I've ever had for psychology. Her lectures are like a never-ending lullaby, and I swear I could fall asleep standing up. I'm pretty sure her goal is to make us all hate psychology. How did she even get hired for this position? It's beyond me.
The most uncaring professor ever
The worst professor ever
Do yourself a favor and avoid taking this professor for psychology 102 .
I really regret taking this professor the absolute worst person I have ever come across.
Bad professor never again will I ever take her class.
Honestly I liked psychology but with this professor she made me hate it
The absolute worst psychology professor ever taken like seriously.
Never again will I ever take her for any psychology class ever again Legit my worst nightmare.
Just all she does is read of the slides during lectures and this just makes me want to sleep like what the heck
Such a bad professor I have ever taken for psychology
Christina Zambrano is the worst professor ever do yourself a favor and avoid taking her for psych.
dr z is a great prof. this class was fairly easy and the lectures were informative and cool. sucks that recitation is mandatory once a week but whatever. recitation participation is a huge part of your grade so beware. some of the ta's are kind of obnoxious but other than that no real complaints on the class. the content is actually interesting too
i just wrote a review but i feel the need to say the guy spam rating her in the same time period badly is a troll and its not right to spam rate her to bring her overall down. this guy prob never showed up and is mad he failed. dr z really is a good prof and is one of the few in this uni who are chill. just a heads up to those reading, ignore those
She lacks organization skills. Most of lectures barley have words and are pictured based. Also get ready go read bc her exams are scenario based. So you'll def need to know some context clues.
I took her for both psych 102 and 302. I enjoyed taking her class in 102, but 302 was super messy and disorganized. But then again when I took her for 102, it was during Covid timings. I would recommend taking ellen halpern for 302, she's a much better.
CROSS CULTURAL PSYCH. took this online. Easiest credit filler ever. Weekly discussion posts (if that) and then one main group project. A couple of online quizzes which are super easy. There is a textbook but you don't need to buy it
Professor Zambrano is a great addition to Rutgers University. You want to be successful, put in the necessary work. Recitation reinforces learning. There are study tools in the canvas platform such as flash cards, slides and videos these are fun ways to study the materials. She often gives extra credit when she wants to reward us for showing up.
Her class is relatively easy as long as you show up. Her ppts don't contain much bc she expects you to take notes as she explains them in class. She does talk a lot and talks fast though. Overall, she's great and usually gives extra credit when attendance is low. My TA sucked more than she did tbh
She yaps a lot like too much that her lectures doesn't really feel as useful but she's pretty chill. The recitation days with her TA's are EXTREMELY useful so make sure to attend those days since you get all the information you need on those days.
Take good notes and pay attention in lectures as her exams are tricky. She highlights terms to study, but understanding the concepts is key since exams are situational. Memorizing notes alone won't help, and many leave exams confused. Quizzes are tough, she's slow to respond to emails, and tests/quizzes have assigned seating, all on paper.
If you want to pass this class (or any other class in general), show up, study, and take notes. This is a class that requires you to memorize many terms and definitions. That's why showing up matters. Fun lectures if interested in psychology. Hard to fail if you study.
The professor can be hit or miss, but with the right strategies, the class is manageable. I found the lectures dry, so I supplemented with Unstuck AI and the free textbook, which really helped me stay engaged and prepared.
Loved her lectures!! She was funny and nice and kept you engaged. The quizzes were hard, with tricky wording that made you say “wth” lol. The TA's slides were helpful. She took attendance with a code, so you could skip, but I wouldn't recommend it—you need to take notes. She offered extra credit sometimes.
Dr. Z truly cares about her students' success and is an energetic and compelling lecturer. You need to study for an A and using the slides as a study guide helped me a lot. I used the book but others didn't and got As. The people who gave her low scores are usually students who complain about her not handing out easy As. Don't listen to them.
Prof. Zambrano is understanding. Gave exp. of materials through life experiences. Online & Pop-up extra credits were cool. I would definitely recommend Prof. Zambrano. Recitation is very important and offers support and a deeper understanding of the materials. Your success in your hands-take advantage of the opportunities you have been given.
Definitely one of my best classes, as long as you pay a decent amount of attention, take notes and attend recitation, it is very easy to do well. Great prof! The textbook was only used when needing to answer questions in homework, but it was easy to find the answers in it and she would base tests off of the lecture, not the textbook.
A good portion looks like its multiple bad ratings from the same person. But anyway Prof. Z is a great person. She puts the vocab words and pictures on slides, but the way you get the definitions is by taking notes and listening like you should. Tests/quizzes are senario based so practice those. Put in the bare minimum effort like me and ur fine.
Decent Professor, she yaps a lot and she's hard to reach at the end of school year. She found my work that she didn't add to my grade and said she would add it and that would've taken my grade to a B but she never added it. Went back and forth over email after the school year with no result.
