Dr. Beckman was absolutely the best professor I have had in my entire educational career. Every class brought a new challenge and she engaged every student. I have never experienced such excitement in a class. If I could take all of my classes from Dr. Beckman I would probably have an education that would rival Harvard. Way to go, Dr. Beckman

Dr. Beckman is one of the best teachers I have ever had the pleasure to meet and be taught by. She is very kind and her lectures are easy to follow. Dr. Beckman is willing to help you as much as you need it if you just ask her. If I majored in Communications I wouldn't want any other teacher.

She's really easy! and funny too. She also gives free food.

Dr.Beckman was an amazing and insightful professor. She engaged her students in intellectual conversations and was always open to different opinions. One thing I will take away from Dr. Beckman is my continued love for learning and I will alway remember her positive reinforcements toward challenges. The class was challenging but oh so rewarding.

Assignments are clear with examples so it is never a "guessing game". Material is available 24/7 on WebCt. I always looked forward to attending her class. Interesting topics and discussion.

No complaints here. Her class was one of the most enjoyable classes. She never cancel any classes in my experience, and was extremely helpful when needed. Materials are presented, and she made it clear what's expected of everyone on the first day. If you got a C or below in her class, you must have really deserved it. Great teacher over all. A+++++

Not only a great teacher but a great person. Very enthusiastic about her job and helped in staying focused in class. She never canceled class with me and I was in the same class with one of the people who posted she did cancel. It was a hybrid class. That person must of missed that memo. I would recommend her any day.

Very easy and laid out. She wants to help you and makes sure you achieve. However, she treats everyone like they are 12 and have never been in a college class before and acts like shes an english professor. Shes also not understanding about absences what-so-ever, unless its a school related absence- so hope life doesn't happen to you in her class!

Dr. Beckman was really nice. Class was SUPER EASY! Easiest A I got during the semester. Attendance is a must. Online tests that you can retake as many times as you want until you ace it. Take this class, you won't regret it.

Christine made this class fun and really eased you into public speaking. Class consists of 2 group presentations, 2 solo presentations and 2 movie write ups. Homework is only to prepare for speeches. A few quzzes through the semester, given online and can be taken twices for best grade. Class cancelled most fridays. Very laid back, low work load.

Easy class. I did the hybrid version and as long as you do your HW, you will pass. Don't have to put much effort into anything either. She is easy to follow and clear on what she expects.

i didnt bother to open my book since i could retake the test as many times as i wanted online. Nice lady who talks about her life, which is somewhat interesting. Presentation were a little scary if you dont like talking in front of people but everyone feels the same as you do. Easy A

Christine is very knowledgeable in her field. She very bubbly and upbeat. I had a wonderful learning experience.

She tries to keep class interesting and will help you as needed. If you put a tiny bit of effort into making a nice presetations you'll get an A.

I LOVED this class! teacher is very sweet& kind as long as ur doing ur work!person below said deadlines went fast well dont sign up for an 8 week class!Personally I thought deadlines were do able if ur a good student. Also every assignment is laid out perfectly, so dont drift away from that example. If you don't do it that way no wonder u did bad

This class was great. I took it online and her timeline for assignments was very reasonable. She gave feedback when was needed, but she gave clear directions on her assignments. I would recommend this class to anyone.

First online class. LOVED IT! Beckman is great. Very competent and helpful. The assignments she puts together really ensure you get the most out of the book's concepts. I read other comments here and you can't fault the instructor for canvas being difficult to navigate, every time I've had a class w/ a canvas component it has been difficult.

Really nice instructor. Just have to follow the syllabus, and get your work done. The course was really straightforward.

Best teacher ever. She responds to emails within 24-48 hours and it super nice. She even lets you video tape your 2 speeches instead of giving them in person (great for those with anxiety). The only downfall was the one group assignment but she gives super easy extra credit. She's just happy and awesome. Not too hard not too easy.

This teacher was great. Follow closely to outline how to do the assignment you can't go wrong. Hint Go right to the modules follow lessons back up grade book that's all you need to follow. Can get crazy finding things with each MCC teacher has their own format. Great Teacher – Great class easy A or B if you follow the directions.

Christine Beckman was such a great teacher. She really worked with me because I work graveyards and also have children. Not only did I learn in her class, I also had a lot of fun. She made online classes feel like they were in person because of the participation. She motivated her students and actually cared. I'm going to search for her classes!!!

She was a great teacher for me. I have nothing bad to say at all. Her assignments were clear and the work load was very manageable. I would definitely take her class again!

Extremely professional and enthusiastic instructor. She inspires all of her students. Participate in discussions and theres never a dull moment. Not difficult but expect to contribute to earn a honest grade.

Excellent! This was the most well structure class I have ever had. Instructions, directions, and expectations where great. The modules always gave the big picture. Use the page number she gives you.

I am not comfortable with speeches. Being able to do the class online saved me. I was fearful but that quickly let. The topics were interesting. It was a super supportive class. Beckman was fun. There's quite a bit of reading but it's worth it.

Group communication is a third of the class. She doesn't waste time with last minute help. ave us the power to let people know they were not in the group if they stopped helping. Seems fair. Two speeches were recorded. Read everyone - watch every example. Great summer class.

This class was really fun. I learned a lot. She was very helpful. Don't go last minute and ask for help when you've had 3 weeks to work on your speech. Do practice your speech before presenting. There are 3 speeches that are very interesting and fun. Follow the outline for the speech and you should be good. I recommend this class!!!

She is hands down one of the best instructors I've had. The class itself is fun and enjoyable however she makes it even better. The work is easy to grasp and she helps out quite a bit and wants everyone to do great. Definitely want to take another class with her in the future.

I absolutely love this teacher, the way she teaches and just her personality in general. She's always in a good mood and jokes around a lot with the class while keeping a educated environment. Hands down the biggest sweetheart out of any teacher I have ever met. She's really helpful and has always looked out for my best interest.

Excellent pace and super interesting. Nice blend of vintage speeches and modern political speech links. You will learn history, communication, and politics. She's fun. Hybrid format was cool. In class lectures and online material was straightforward. She's got it down.

She taught such an enjoyable online class! I've done a lot of online courses and I have never felt so appreciated as I have in this course. In other classed I often got the feeling that I should feel guilty for taking mostly online classes and there was no effort made to accentuate the benefits of the experience but I did not feel that way with her

Christy Beckman is awesome! She is a student's professor & keeps her students in mind when grading. She will be there for you and help you if you ask for it. There were 3 tests, the other 7 assignments were easy and you have a 3 day grace period to turn it in (-10 each day it's late though) all and all awesome teacher. Not an easy A, but easy class

Hybrid format was good. Textbook and participation are important. Tough freshman class but worth it.

Course counts for both majors I'm considering. Projects are clear but you have to write. She made the semester fun. TExtbook required. Always in a good mood.

The course requires writing and interacting. Lots of participation is important. Papers, discussion, comments. Many opportunities a nd very supportive. Textbook was needed. Use terms from book/course you'll do well. Answered my questions and the class moves along and the content is interesting. Group projects were challenge but fun.

Dr. Beckman's online class was awesome. She is super quick at grading so you know exactly where you are in the class and she always gives feedback. She was very easy to get in contact with if you ever had any questions. The course wasn't easy per say, but if you follow directions, passing is easy. The course load was not overwhelming either.

I took the 8-week COM100 hybrid class, and it was an easy and enjoyable 3 credits. Her rubrics are very clear for all assignments/speeches so as long as you follow those it's an easy A. She's also one of the sweetest ladies ever!

I appreciated how responsive she was and how quickly she'd respond to emails or say "if you have questions, give me a call." I felt like she was one of the best online instructors I've had. Through her hard work, it shows how much she cares about the students and how much she cares about communications.

Took her online winter break class. She is very nice and responds quickly to any questions. The class had 2 speeches which for online we had to record and upload for the class to see. An online communications class might seem bit awkward but Christine Beckman gives great feedback and cares about her students success.

Dr. Beckman is a great professor and is super nice! I did an online course and she was always quick to answer any questions in a courteous manner. I also appreciated all the feedback she gave, it's nice to receive notes back in an online course to really know how you're doing.

I was really dreading taking a "Public Speaking" class, but it was actually fun. Dr Beckman is casual and empathetic. We did a few in-class speeches, but a lot of our discussion was about the history/theory of rhetoric and how to put together an effective presentation. I learned a lot and would recommend taking her class if you need COM225.

I took the hybrid class, which meant the class only met once a week. Dr. Beckman is a great teacher and she is a fair grader. We had 3 speeches and had the option to present either in class or record a video and post it. The class is not hard if you participate and do the work. I didn't want to take this class but now may take another comm. class.

The semester is only 10 equal value papers. Her assignments aren't short or mindless but they're nothing strenuous. She interweaves fun things with textbook work (one paper is watching the King's Speech and writing about it). If you can write a passable essay and you put in a little effort you'll do fine. She's SUPER NICE as well.

Dr. Beckman is a awesome instructor. She really cares and wants you to pass. she gives nice feedback after something is turned in, tweek it and you have a better grade. great textbook too.

This class is very enjoyable, especially if you enjoy creating speeches. I took this course over the winter intersession so I was prepared to complete homework every day. Luckily, it was not as much as I thought and Dr. Beckman grades for quality over quantity. The video speeches were fun to make and Dr. Beckman gives great feedback!

Professor Beckman, is beyond the greatest Com100 teacher, she gives feedback on her assignments, so you know what to correct for the next time. She is more concerned with student growth, than she is the assignment itself. However, she still does grade based off of your effort and understanding; but she is for the success of the students! Take her!!

Dr. Beckman's Communication classes are excellent. This course is my second class taken with Dr. Beckman. The Dr.'s feedback is very helpful, and she is quick to respond to canvas emails. The course was informative and helped me have a deeper understanding of cultural communication and barriers. I highly recommend taking the 8 week online course.

Professor Beckman is awesome! The material she teaches is very useful and she genuinely cares about her students. I had a number of times where I reached out to her asking for help and she always responded very quickly and was eager to help me out. I received and A in her course and I would recommend her if you need to take a communications course!

I took her class this summer. Her class is extremely laid back and enjoyable. She doesn't do tests or quizzes and you only have 10 assignments to do! SOOO easy. But you also learn a lot with intercultural communication. If you need a favor, feel free to email her cause she most likely will help you out! I'm glad to have taken the class!

I enjoyed this class mostly because of Dr. Beckman. She helps you if you need clarification and inspiration. Do the reading and take in all the material that is given. If you understand the material then you should be able to receive a good grade in her class. I'd recommend her any day. Hope this helps.

I had a blast in this class. Dr. Beckman is an amazing professor who really takes the time to care! This was an honors course so it was a little more challenging and the presentation projects are not easy, but practice, practice and you will do fine. I did the extra credit and got to forgo one of my grades-would definitely take again.

Cant say enough about Dr. Beckman's class. Workload is reasonable (10 assignments + discussions in 4-week intersession) but the assignments are challenging, with a variety of multimedia materials used. You will learn a lot. She grades quickly and fairly, gives helpful feedback, and is truly engaged with the class. Wish she taught more classes!

I took Professional Communication with Professor Beckman at ASU. I had an assignment that I didn't do to well on. Professor Beckman reached out asking if I would like any help figuring out what I could do better for the remainder. I really appreciate teachers that go out of their way to make sure that their students are able to succeed and do well.

I really enjoyed my COM class with Dr. Beckman. I won't be switching over to Communications at this time, but I did switch from my former major. I wasn't passionate about it. The class was really insightful and I hope that one day I will be able to come back and take another class my Dr. Beckman. Preferably in-person. She's great, you won't regret!

Textbook/examples online. Video submissions were ok but graded slower. Straightforward. Messages returned quickly. Good experience for me. I enjoyed the videos and untimed assignments. The format was clear.

This instructor was super helpful and caring, they inboxed me privately to help my final assignment look more professional before my other classmates got to see it, which was super caring on their part. The class is fairly easy with not a lot of work, just be ready and willing to participate in a little bit of public speaking!

Dr. Beckman was an amazing professor! It ended up being my favorite class I took this semester. She uses a textbook that's easy to follow along with and it's a good guide for each essay. Papers needed to be completed each week, but if you follow along with the class and are consistent, they're easy to complete. Interesting and useful class!
