Bradford is so nice and gives you so many ways to make a good grade, her teaching is interesting even though I don't even like geology. Just be warned there is a lot of work!
Professor Bradford is a good lecturer and very knowledgeable on geology. The labs are varied and interesting. On the downside, she gives out loads of paperwork. The workload for the class is pretty heavy as well. Overall, she's a an excellent professor who's definitely worth taking.
I thoroughly enjoyed Professor Bradford's class. She teaches geology because she loves it. I highly recommend Professor Bradford. She is very willing to help. Come to class, pay attention to the lectures, and do the homework. If you do these things you be happy with the grade you receive.
If you don't like a lot of work you will not like this class!!! Labs every class. She makes you go on field trips which I find a little weird for a college professor. Shes extremely passionate about Geology. Very nice woman, will help if you need her too. Gives a lot of opportunities for extra credit. Overall good teacher.
Ms. Bradford is a good teacher and she loves teaching. Class is a lot of work, reading chapters, learning minerals, and rocks, group project, and two scientific papers. She offers 30 points extra credit that are easy to obtain. Her tests are straight from the study guides. Answer and study from the guides and you will pass the class.
This class was actually enjoyable! The labs were fun and there are occasional field trips. She gives extra credit so if you need the boost, it's there. She is a great professor and will give back feedback! Tests are easy as long as you actually complete the review and try in class. I recommend this class
When it came to Geology I though one thing and was shocked by the amount of work, two the syllabus was desperately required, three you need to be organized. Four, don't add math as a class or another science or anything over a credit with a lot of homework, you need every moment spared for this class.
Prof Bradford is a really good teacher. She's interesting and knows what she's talking about! Her classes are fun because she focuses the lectures around the labs and hands on activities so you don't have to sit through a lecture for a long time and only take notes. She does give A LOT of homework though but all of it completion. Must come to class
It might just be because I am very interested in Geology, but Professor Bradford kept my interest every single day in class. If you pay attention and do what she says you will probably get an A
She genuinely cares about students learning and passing. She has the class set up so you can pass and not stress a lot. Online textbook
Great teacher! Her lectures were clear, and not too lengthy. We had some fun activities to do for our labs, and those were really informative. Never thought I would ever take interest in Geology, but she made me actually kinda like it
This geology class was really fun, and Professor Bradford is amazing!
This should be considered a time extensive class, you should expect a lot of work. Work is easy, and she is an easy grader. Although, she is not considerate of students time with other classes. You are either doing nothing in this class or everything major. Expect mandatory off campus labs as well, which may make you late for your next class.
Nice teacher, expects a lot. Lab almost every class, this is not a class I would recommend on top of other hard classes as it does consist of lots of assignments and study. She is very fair in grading test and the class is enjoyable material, just expect to be busy with major grades due back to back weeks or your'e doing nothing. Balance in rare.
After taking this class I would definitely take it again if my major required it. She is very helpful. There are a lot of tests, which at first seemed intimidating. However, after studying and taking them, I realized that there was nothing to worry about. Study, do the homework, attend class, participate in the labs, and you will be fine.
Ms. Bradford is a very kind person who is helpful and patient. I have never taken a college science class before, but I felt this class was a great deal of work. There was a lab project almost every week. Tests were two essay questions each. Online work was also required. There were also two mineral/rock identification tests.
Class requires a lot of time at home, but all the assignments pack your grade if you flub a test. Plenty of extra credit, lectures are interesting and some teach you real world application. The professor is very kind, flexible, and understanding that the majority of her students have lives and if need be offer help(let me borrow her own textbooks)
Mrs Bradford is a great geology teacher. study a lot for the mineral and rock exams and do the optional credit and you'll be okay. she's very funny and cares about her students, hard to fail this class.
Great teacher! Her lectures are interesting and she has the class loaded to where its hard to not get an A or B and it is extremely hard to fail. Study for mineral and rock exams and do extra credit and you will be fine. She genuinely cares about her students.
Most of the class are a mixture of the lecture and labs together. HW is on Connect. Learnsmarts are a pain. Quizzes online. Gives you every chance to pass teh class with an A. I failed a couple of test, but nothing will hurt you too bad. Mostly memorization. Alot of extra credits is offered. No reason for anything lower than a B. She loves JOKES.
Bradford is awesome! This semester I took her honors historical class and it was great. We went to Enchanted Rock and HMNS as a class, which were a lot of fun. It is really hard to not pass her class. Do the work and you'll be fine. We had 4 short answer essay exams including the final, a short research paper, and labs every week. Highly recommend.
AMAZING! Everything you learn, you could use in your life no matter what field you're going into. She understands that almost no one in her class is going to become a geologist but that only makes her teach with more passion. All the labs are completion grades, but so fun that you usually want to do them anyway. She is ALWAYS happy to help, always.
Professor Bradford is by far the kindest instructor I have ever had. This semester for me was filled with chaos and I got extremely behind in her class to the point where realistically I wouldn't have been able to pass. However after talking with her, she made it possible and I ended up with a very gracious B. This is NOT a hard class by any means.
AMAZING! Really cares about her students. Test are only hard if you don't read and study as they are concept questions. Do not be fooled though as there is a lot of work in this class but is not difficult. Labs are completion grades. You really have to not try to fail her class. Take her class, you will not regret it!
Professor Bradford is such an amazing and respected teacher. Lots of work but it is pretty easy if you are dedicated to getting your work done. Very understanding if something occurs to where you can't be in class, just keep her informed. Because of her, i changed my major from Interior Design to Geology! I'm taking her for historical geology also!
The best professor I have ever had. There is no way you can fail this class with the amount of help she offers and the way her tests are given. If you are able to be disciplined she gives you the exact questions that will be on the test prior to it - all you have to do is practice! Her lectures consist of writing and drawing on the board - easy!
Great professor. There is a lot of work, but you just need to be in class, listen, and study. There are 2 ID exams over rocks/minerals (there are materials in the library to study). Exams are sketches with descriptions of concepts. (she gives you the questions to practice). Reading and quizzes online on connect weekly. Would take Prof. Again.
If you are going into science & need good science profs, taking professor Bradford's class is a great choice, unlike some other science profs at lonestar. Class is engaging and the labs are easy. You need to prepare for exams, guessing wont work. The more active of a student you are, the more she is willing to give you a some leeway if you need it.
Class was awesome and so was she. Make sure you do the online homework.
You will use McGraw and have to do the reading and quizzes. You have three chances on the quizzes but they are different every time. 4 concept sketch exams, but she gives you the question 2 weeks before. 12 labs assignments. 2 ID exams. Then lastly you will have a final exam which are the concept sketches. Take her! You will love her!
She wants you to learn and know the information, not just to pass a test. She does assign a lot of work but nothing you can't handle. All around good class and teacher. I'd take her again.
She is amazing, even I being an English learner I was able to understand all her lessons, and she is very nice and amazing person, I don't think twice to recommend Mrs. Bradford as a geology professor. Be prepare to study for the exams but don't worry the chapters and topics that you study in the review are the same things in the exam.
My favorite Professor! The class was a little difficult and if I would have put more effort into class I would have made a better grade. But honestly she made her lectures and labs so interesting and fun! I would take her again and again! just do your work and you will soar!
Amazing professor. I took physical Geology and Historical Geology with her and she is an amazing lecture. People think geology is hard and it is because involves a lot of informatio but professor bradford make the class easy because she care about her students. Make sure you go to class, listen to the lectures, read the books and do the labs.
Don't take this class!! She gave two test one week after another. Doesn't give enough time to go over rocks for a test in class. Moves on to another topic before you're even done with the one you're on. Doesn't grade things in a timely manner and never answers emails even when you tell her about them in person. Also the final insane.
She is absolutely amazing. She helped me realize what i wanted to do in life. Most professors get angry when people ask a ton of questions but she is always kind and patient. She never makes you feel stupid. 10 outta 10.
Professor Bradford did an excellent job of teaching the course in an easily understood manner without dumbing things down. Generally a fun and engaging course. She was always available after class or during weekly office hours to answer questions if needed.
Best professor I've ever had! It isn't a blow off, but the way she teaches makes you understand everything so clearly!
I'm indifferent about this professor. I like that the class was really easy and organized, however, nothing ever gets graded on time. She is a bit harsh on discussions as I received a 70 for a week I did one post and one reply. She says to not post the day it's due and to do multiple posts, however the rubric said multiple posts were optional.
Mrs. Bradford was my favorite teacher the whole semester! She was understanding about personal situations, she gives chances to re do assignments and allows late assignments as well! She responds fast to emails and is very helpful. I would take this class again and recomend anyone to take her. She does give out ALOT of homework so be prepared!!
Prof Bradford is very understanding and genuinely cares about her students. She answers back all her emails and will always do her best to help you. Prepare to do at-least one lab a week, ch homework, quiz and discussion post. Its not easy but she's a really good professor.
Professor Bradford is a great educator who takes this subject very serious. If you take this course be prepared to work! She give multiple assignments that are due weekly although she does give a 2 day grace period on some. She's very good with giving feedback to assist you with being successful, but you definitely have to work for your grade.
Every week there is homework, a quiz, a lab, and a discussion post. It is a lot of work to do, but this counts as a science credit and I can promise you none of them are easy. If you take this class you will having an awesome professor who cares if you understand the material and is there for you if you need her. I would definitely recommend her!
So much homework BEWARE! The book is needed otherwise you won't be able to do anything. The homework isn't hard, however there is a lot and I would NOT take this class if you have other things going on in your life.
There is ALOT of work for this class and barely any time between each assignment due date considering the amount of work given. She forgets to open dropboxes and post links to help with the homework and does not grade assignments often. You need to read the textbook in order to do the assignments. Would not recommend this professor.
It's finals week, and not even half of our grades have been put in. Dropboxes to turn in assignments aren't posted sometimes. It's somewhat chaotic. Labs are very long, average 20 pages, and very tedious. Homeworks and discussions are easy though. I really am not a fan of the fact that I have no idea what my grade is in the class.
I really hate to rate her bad, because she seems so nice. But we still have grades from the first week missing. Course load is A LOT. Though she is very responsive, the material can be difficult to understand and excessive. I don't know if she's having a difficult time in her personal life, but I hope things get on track, bc that semester was rough
Professor Bradford is my favorite professor I have ever had, she was responsible for me deciding to major in geology. I had her for both environmental (online) and physical (in person) geology. Her lectures were amazing and there are lots of extra credit opportunities. Both online and in person were great experiences but I do recommend in person.
This is my honest review. The prof was very nice but very disorganized. Pretty often not all of the materials were posted to complete the assignments, even up until the due date. There is quite a bit of busy work but non of its hard. Do the work and stay on track and you will get an A. If I had to retake this course I would choose a different prof.
Very good professor, she's a little disorganized but she lets you know everything that needs to be turned in after class or if you ask. You are told the possible exam questions before the exam (It's on the homework). This class isn't very hard and the professor can help you get on track if you ask questions. Just study and you'll get an easy A.
