She Grades very hard and seems to hate teaching.
i really enjoyed this class, for math, it was easy.
Very good teacher. Really makes things stick, gives lots of extra credit opportunities. If you work you will do well, it's a must go to class to stay up on the homework and lessons.
This was one of the most unpersonable teachers I have ever had. She doesnt like to be asked questions.
Great math professor. VERY clear and makes you really understand. Don't take this class though unless you plan on doing the homework and going to class always. An A is very possible if you work.
This is the worst teacher I have had for math. She seems like she doesnt like teaching and doesnt like to answer questions from students I study everyday for at least 2 hours and still got a C because of her grading. Show all your steps on test!!!
best math teacher i've had at moorpark. very helpful
I found her hard and boring
I hated her, I had the hardest time in this class. I had to spend 40 bucks an hour for a tutor, just to end up dropping the class. Take Paul Lin if you can
She's a decently easy grader on quizzez/tests. Shes boring. You have to turn in weekly homework. There are weekly quizzez and a few chapter tests. Make sure you go to class.
not nice
This teacher is very much a snob and not helpful at all. DONT TAKE HER. I heard the other teachers are much better
Knows the material inside and out and very willing to help if you don't understand something. But very difficult grader in Calculus!!!
If your smart do not take her!! She doesn't teach very well, rambles on and is a really hard grader! SHe's not very nice either.
Acts like she was one of those snobs in highschool you hated. She made math harder than it actually was. Does she ever smile? No. Take Weinstein for Math.
She is my best math teacher ever! Take her class and do homework. She will let you pass and give you high score!
She explains the material really well, and is willing to help you. She is very friendly and considerate.
Hard Class. Doesn't grade the homework, which is nice. Quizes are weekly. Tests are evil! Very little extra credit. She is one of those teachers without a personality. Don't expect to laugh in her class!
She takes the time to go over questions you have. She works with you on the problem. She dose not have the best personality however, she is very nice. She gives a good amount of extra credit and will give partial points. She is a relatively easy teacher if you study hard and go to class.
She is really nice, but seems to pick favorites. The class for the most part is really easy but really repetitive. I would recomend her to anyone.
Good teacher. Explains very well. It is a must that you do homework. Everyday you go over hw. Only collects 1 assignment per test and its usually extra credit. Every test she has extra credit problems(1-2) that are just a little bit harder than the rest. If you show up, do homework, you'll do fine.
She was a very good teacher. She is very organized and gets things back the next class. If you know the material dont bother doing the homework. She randomly picks one and its only worth 10 points (entire class is 1000). i recommend taking her
I took Prof. Cole for a summer session Algebra and dug her style. She is pretty much business but supplies you with a lot of examples. Do the work, go to class, ask for help. Her tests are challenging but there is extra credit always and she usually curves them.
Wow, the best math teacher I have ever had. She would go out of her way to explain anything you did not understand. Chris Cole is fantastic, I would recommend her to anyone and take her again in a heart beat.
Chris Cole's class is a challenge for those who don't favor math. She does not explain each chapter as clearly as she should. Quizzes are given weekly and a lot of homework is assigned. She is not a dedicated teacher which is an important quality to posses.
This lady can really teach. She gives a TON of homework. She does a great job explaining the material. Her tests are hard and her final is cumulative and was the hardest test I have ever taken. If you want to learn stats she is great. Be prepared to spend many many hours doing the homework and in the tutoring center - but you will learn stats.
She explains things very well.
Shouldn't teachers want to help their students pass? She's not very helpful or clear on her expectations, and she likes to pick favorites. So maybe the people who are giving her a good rating were one of those favorites.
sometimes didn't want to take time to explain concepts fully, irritable, never ever misses a class. but she is alright overall, as long as you do the homework and keep up.
she is your classic college professor, which is an inviting fact for anyone who is under-stimulated by the rest of their "highschool like" college courses. be prepared, and you'll do fine
I like math and was interested in this course until I had this teacher. She likes to play favorites and it's mostly boys. She's unclear and not helpful. It's like she wants you to fail, she doesn't care if you pass and is not willing to help. She will also say one thing and then do another, she is unfair and wants to see how many people she can make drop.
Mrs. Cole is a great teacher. She makes the material easy to understand and her lectures include tons of examples. She only covers one section of a chapter per class, which makes the material easier to digest. She is helpful and happy to answer questions.
all the people who say shes mean belong in highschool. shes organized and gets the job done. i HATE math and yet i showed up everyday and did my hw and i did really well. keep in mind i'm awful at math! just show up to class! its not a hard course at all. its basic math with fancy formulas, thats it! so dont worry! one more time: just go to class!
One of th easiest math classes i have ever taken in my life! Mrs. Cole made everything very clear and easy to understand. She was always willing to help individually and doesnt go on until the whole class understands the concept!! Take this class for an easy A!
Professor Cole is the best math teacher I have ever had...As long as you go to every class and do the homework, you will have an A, because for the most part the subject is not hard to understand. She is super organized and very clear when teaching. I highly recommend her!
Fantstic teacher. As far as you do your homework you guranteed for an A. Very clear and perfect at teaching.
Great teacher. Explains everything very well. Do ALL your homework. You can't slack off. But its relatively easy to get an A or B.
She is an amazing teacher! Explains the material extremely well! If you do the homework and projects you will be fine :) Definitely recommend!
Excellent teacher. In fact, the best math teacher I have ever had. She may be hard to approach, but she wants you to pass. If you get any grade other than an A, you are either stupid or not trying. She took the fear out of Trig by being organized and straightforward. Do the homework and you will be more than prepared for every quiz and exam.
She is a great teacher, probably one of the easiest I have ever had. She wants people to pass so there is lots of extra credit you can do but if you pay attention you wont need it.
The best math teacher at Moorpark College. She goes out of her way to make sure all her studnets understand the material, and on top of that, gives huge amounts of extra credit.
SHe is a very good teacher. I thought statistics would be hard but she walked step by step through each problem and made sure we understood it! i would take her again. she gives a lot of extra credit too.
The best professor ever. Very helpful. Makes material easy to understand. Very nice. Very fair grading. Easygoing. Would definately take another class from her again. Take one of her classes, you won't be disappointed.
She is a great teacher. She explains everything step by step and has a lot of extra credit. She's very helpful and will go over homework in class. I recomend it to anyone!
attendance is a must!!! the first couple chapters are easy, but once you hit like 6, it gets ridiculous amounts of hard & she doesnt explain it well. she enjoys playing favorites- if you get As, she likes you, if you dont, good luck. 3 ridiculously random (&hard) projects, collects homework day of test, no multiple choice, no scantrons. good luck!
Good teacher. She moves FAST but she is there to help you. The home work takes a long time but it helps for the exams (6) and quiz's (one a week)
She does have favorites and loves to be sarcastic, and she's very picky. You have to attend class in order to do good. and do very good in her projects and her 6 tests and you should be on the go!
shes a really good teacher but a tough grader. her extra credit makes up for her harsh grading.
I HATE math, and I suck at it, but this class was cake. She goes fast, but she walks you through it step by step. You use notes on the tests and there is tons of extra credit. Attendence is absolutely key to getting a good grade. There is no reason to do bad in this class.
She is explains the subject very well but her exams will consist of the hardest problems from homework and she is a hard grader. Will take off a lot of points for mathematical word problems. For example, got a "D" on test for missing two word problems.
I seriously hated this class. It's not that it was hard, it was lame. You'd think "Math for Elementary School Teachers" would be a class about how to teach math. NOT! She'd assign homework and then not go over it..was like pulling teeth to get explanations for some things. Lots of group work, which was good. Take home final.
DOES SHE ALLOW CALCULATORS IN CLASS?
I have never in the history of my life been able to understand math but this teacher was so clear at explaining everything step by step. There is a lot of work- 3 projects, hw, quizzes, and tests...if u can handle it then take her because she is the best math teacher ever. A+
she is so great. she is nice and everything you hope for in a math teacher. i never understood math and she made it so clear. i was amazed as to how well i was doing and its amazing to know their is a teacher that can teach to someone that hates math. i wish she taught 25b. i highly recommend her. you will not regret it.
Best math teacher. If you aren't a math person, you will still do really well. Easy to understand, gives a lot of extra credit, walks around classroom to give help on practice problems, projects for more points, quizzes. Go to class, do projects and extra credit=A
These rating are not accurate at all. This subject is very hard & she does not make it easy. If math is not your major don't take her. This is the fist & only class I had to withdraw from & so did half the class. She goes through the material very fast & makes you feel dumb when you ask a question. No partial credit on test/quiz's. No curves either
She is a great teacher; explains the material thoroughly and is willing to help. Does give partial credit, but not on extra credit problems. She doesn't usually curve, but did curve one of the tests. There are no surprises on the tests; they're not easy but if you take good notes and pay attention in class, you'll be prepared for them
...extra credit? THAT'S A JOKE. She doesn't give extra credit at all. She doesn't curve her tests ever. She is not lenient in grading quizzes ever. She barely gives partial credit and if she does you're most likely one of her favorites. She makes you feel dumb when you ask your questions. does that sound like a good teacher?
She is great. Many students ignore the homework which is what the next test or quiz will be on. In other words, do the homework and you'll probably pass the class. She explains things very thoroughly and will do as many examples as she can during class. She returns assignments quickly but curves very little. Go to class every day and pay attention!
Teaches you whats on the quizzes and tests, and is very clear about what is on them. I did no homework assignments and still passed with a high B despite her calling this impossible. Her syllabus is different from what she actually does and if you miss a day she will not cut you any slack despite the reason. Not a teacher to avoid but not your fav.
Terrible terrible terrible! Does not grade fair. hardly any partial credit. tests way harder than the material she teaches. class average was a D when i took it.
Very helpful. Even thought class is not mandatory you must be there every day for the lessons or else your not going to pass the quizzes. Test are based of quizzes. She always reviews before a quiz or a test. Does not look down on you. Always willing to answer any question even if you feel its dumb. Very good teacher. She takes time to explain.
Hard.
Math has always been my favorite subject, but even if you aren't good at math she is willing to explain any question you have. If you do the homework and go to class you will do fine. Im definitely taking Calculus with her next semester. Love the way she teaches!
This prof. is great she clearly knows what she is doing. You will not survive without your book and not doing your homework. If you dont understand something, she is very approachable, only thing, is that every time you have a test she will only collect one homework assingment and wont tell you which one it is til the day its due.
One of the few Calculus teachers who actually gives extra credit. She also makes sure everybody understands and constantly gives material to help you be ready for tests. Drops the lowest test. Amazing teacher, the only complaint I have is that she doesn't teach Calc 25B yet.
OUTSTANDING Professor...I have always struggled with math in high school yet earned an A in stats...HW is online with extra credit quizes...tests on every 3 chapters...quizes every week but drops the lowest 2...extra credit opportunities...very knowledgeable and approachable...truly a GREAT professor and Dept. Chair!!!
Easily one of the best math teachers I've ever had as she is willing to explain if something is confusing you and is there to help you.Really clear in the way she teaches to the point that I never even looked at the book and was still able to get a high B in the class.Replaces your lowest test score with your grade on the final which is a big help
Mrs. Cole is a great teacher who does a very good job of explaining things. She'll go back and explain anything you dont understand. You have to keep up with the homework even though you don't have to do it. Her tests are brutally hard tho, so be ready!
Best math teacher I have ever had. If you're taking Stats, really try to get in to her class!!! She makes everything perfectly clear, and work outside the class is minimal. She allows a notes sheet for all tests, including the final. You will get behind if you miss any classes, but she makes it interesting so you won't mind going.
She's a very clear teacher and is usually a nice lady. She give average amount of homework always odd #'s. She collects one homework assignment randomly out of the # assigned before the test. Quiz every week. If you ask her for help she will be really helpful. Very boring class though. She is HORRIBLE at partial credit I mean HORRIBLE!
Please listen when I say she is the worst teacher I've ever taken at moorpark. She gives horrible partial credit. If you get all the work right and write the wrong answer, she will give you no credit at all. She doesn't even look at your work. Is willing to explain things again, but just as horrible and unclear as she did the first time.
Didn't understand what she was saying most of the time. If you asked her a question she would explain it the same way she taught it the first time. At first she goes slow but then she speeds up. You don't want to miss a class because you will get lost. Tests are hard if you are not that good at math. 4 test in total. Advice: don't take her.
She was very helpful. Her quizzes were very easy. She did examples from the book and explained them very well. I got an A in her class because I studied hard. It was a great class. She was extremely helpful. I would really suggest taking her.
Professor Cole is very nice and willing to explain the most complex problems in the most simplistic and easy to understand form. If you show up to class and do the homework passing the class is a breeze. I wish she taught M25B, she is one of the best professors for math!If you don't do so well on an exam, replaces lowest score replaced with final.
SHE IS THE BEST TEACHER! I took her for MO7,Math25A, and I plan to take her for Math25B. The weekly quizzes and the worksheets help with your overall grade. MUST TAKE HER!!!
The only word that I can use for this professor is GREAT . She is the one that I want for all of my Maths classes. She is so much better than other Maths professors/teachers I have ever taken. I wish she can teach 25C so I can take her again soon. I still leave my 25C blank waiting for one day that Christine teaches it.
Professor Cole is literally the best math teacher I have ever had. She is so clear when explaining concepts and it really helps because I am a visual learner and she often teaches her concepts visually, so they are easy to understand. I have never been good at math and I was afraid of taking calc, but I did well and I am so glad I took her class.
Yes, she does kinda baby you. But beside the point, her techniques are very effective, she's very clear, and she is amazing at teaching some tough concepts. Opposed to my m25a professor, I picked up almost every concept. If you have any sort of work ethic it's a guaranteed A.
She is a wonderful teacher and is very attractive.
Prof. Cole is the best math teacher ever. I was so scared about taking Calc, but she explains everything so clearly that it actually becomes easy. If you attend class, take notes, and do the homework, an A is guaranteed. I'm seriously considering changing my major to Math because of this lady. Highly recommended!
Professor Cole was the worst math teacher I have ever taken. If you take her you must devote all you time to doing homework because you will not learn anything in class. She is very sloppy/ hard to follow. She needs more training on how to be a great teacher because she is awful!
Cole is the worst professor I have even taken. Very sloppy and hard to follow. You can barely follow anything when you look back at your notes. She is 100% by the book, and can't even create her own problems. I took a quiz she created where she couldn't do one of the problems. She needs professional retraining in teaching if she wants to teach!
I had to work for that B. She's a good teacher, posts all notes online, but hard to follow at times. Had to go home and teach myself most of the subject. Overall sweet lady. Would I recommend? Yes.
She's tough, and that's an understatement. She teaches by doing examples, though she's hard to follow. She can be unclear, and her quizzes and tests are very difficult. She's an even harder grader, and gives odd partial credit. She wasn't very nice, and I don't recommend her at all. Maybe I just didn't do well with her teaching style, but still.
Great teacher. Though if you wanted to pass you had to show up. Quizzes and group work were assigned everyday. The group work covered the lecture and prepared you for the upcoming quiz. She assigned no homework, only hand out questions from the text for you to review on your own time. She provides all the resources to earn a good grade.
She is the department chair so she has too much to do and can't give enough time to her students. You feel like you are majorly interrupting her when you go to her office hours. Very condescending woman who is on a major power trip. Not forgiving at all on tests. Marks some people off and others not off when they have the same answer on tests.
She a good math teacher, she puts everything online which is cool, and give extra credit. Hard to not pass unless you really suck at mathnot try.
I loved this class. She explained everything very well. If you show up to class and do the homework, you will be able to do well on all the tests. She is definitely my favorite teacher. I recommend her for any math class.
I had taken Cole for M07 pre calculus. I tried her Calc2 25B, and she is completely different; you get quizzes EVERY MONDAY. Given this is Calc 2, it should be pretty hard, but I felt the quizzes made it feel like it was a rush to learn and master all the concepts. Very tough grader! If you think you can handle that, take her. if not, don't!
Very clear, easy to follow. One step at a time. If you do the homework you'll pass the class.
do your homework, make notes, you will pass
Bad teacher, stay away
She is a good teacher, she explains everything really well however she is a TOUGH TOUGH grader on tests that are EXTREMELY DIFFICULT. If you want to pass do all the hard homework problems, and ask as many questions as you can.
This was my second time taking calculus M25A so i thought I knew the material well enough, but her tests were VERY tough. shes such a tough grader on the tests, shes so specific and will mark you down without mercy. Stay away if you can!! Half the class dropped because we just couldnt ace exams
I took pre calc with Cole. I was thrilled by how good she was at explaining everything. I was never confused. The way she explains the topics makes so much sense. She cares a lot about the students so if you're ever confused you can talk to her and she will help you until you completely understand the subject. She's hands down my favorite professor
I took calc 1 with Cole. She really cares about it making sense to the students. Every lecture was organized and straight forward. I was never confused. If you care about doing well she wants to help you. So if you are confused on any topic you can go to her office and she will help you until you fully understand. She is my favorite professor.
Cole is a great professor! If you want to do well and you try hard she wants to help you. she cares about her students. She makes everything very clear but if you are confused you can go to her office and she will work with you until you understand it. She offers some extra credit (usually two problems on each test). Shes a really great professor!
Chris Cole is the best teacher I've had at Moorpark College. Her lectures are very clear and she makes sure you understand everything. The tests are easy if you understand the lectures and do the homework.
Chris Cole is a great teacher. She goes really slow on the lectures to make sure everyone understands. Ask questions if you don't understand. There is extra credit on every test.
Professor Cole understands the material extremely well and does offer some extra credit at the end of each test. Although she's an extremely tough grader in my opinion. You're gonna need to do all the homework and make sure you have a good understanding of what your learning otherwise you won't pass her test.
Professor Cole is great! Her tests are very fair and if you do the homework and pay attention in class you'll pass, easily! She also puts some extra credit problems on all of the tests.
For Applied Calculus 1 I'd recommend taking Christine Cole's Class!!!
Was clear and made the class easy!
Very good teacher & knows her stuff. If you're looking for a Applied Calculus Class I'd say take her.
Amazing teacher! Explains problems clearly and always takes time to answers students' questions. She goes at a reasonable pace and knows her material and how to properly explain it to students.
Professor Cole is a great teacher. Out of all of the calculus professors, she is by far one of the easier ones. If you do the homework, and actually study, you will be totally fine. The problems she chooses for the tests are somewhat similar to ones we do in the notes. Overall, she is great, but not the best when it comes to partial credit.
Tests are very tough. You need to work to get an A, but is is possible.
I haven't taken a math class in over 2 years so I was pretty nervous jumping right into Calc, but honestly Professor Cole is the best. Her tests were difficult but if you studied and did homework then you'll be fine! She also allows you to have a cheat sheet on the final which was amazing. I highly recommend her.
Tough grader, very rude, and isn't very approachable. Tests are very difficult, and quizzes with only two questions (20 points) given every week. Do not take her if you struggle in math.
harsh grader! Quiz every week worth 20 points. Unfortunately i suck at math so this class didn't work out for me. She is very sweet lady and answers your questions but goes WAY to fast; explains things in a confusing way sometimes. Doesn't give study guides and collects group work so you cant study with it. Take this class only if your good at math
