Helpful, organized and very knowledgeable
She is very nice. If you work hard and keep up with the reading and studying you will get by. The tests aren't impossible but you have to study a good amount to do well. She is well organized and you can tell she knows that she is talking about.
Earls is a very intelligent teacher. Notwithstanding, if you are taking her for nursing Anatomy and Physiology be prepared for the hardest class of your life, you will easily spend over 20 hours per test studying
Incredible teacher and really, really nice. You'll spend a lot of time studying, but hands down, one of the best professors in the science dept.
Prof Earls is SO nice! She will help anyone out!
so nice! tests are fair but you have to study!
She does her best in communicating very difficult and detailed information, and is more than willing to help you get through it. It's not an easy A though, as you will have to do a lot of work! But she makes it easier than it could be.
Easily the best teacher I've had at FU. There is A TON of material, but she's so willing to clarify anything. She doesn't believe in trick questions on tests but you have to do your part and study hard. Great class.
Good teacher. Very helpful. Wants you to learn. Interesting class.
Prof. Earls is the best professor I've ever had. I have never met someone more dedicated or caring about her students' success.
Explains difficult info clearly. Outlines are very helpful. Tests are fair but you still need to spend a lot of time studying the info
Prof. Earls is by far the best professor. She will do anything and everything to help you do well. This class has sooo much material but she makes it possible to do well. She will answer any question and explain it in full. TAKE her because you won't find a more caring and thorough professor.
Prof. Earls is not very clear in explaining things and she will brush over things in class making them appear as if they're not extremely important and then an entire test will have half of the questions on that topic. Be careful when you ask her a question because she will mess up the answer and confuse not only you, but herself as well.
Professor Earls is a good teacher, she is very helpful if you take the time to meet with her, the test are challenging and the lab tests are even harder but you'll come out of the class knowing everything about the human body!
I had her for 2 semesters and the class itself is hard. She's a really helpful teacher though. She's so nice and approachable. Definitely read or else u'll fall behind.
Professor Earls is amazing and really cares about her students. Definitely take her class!
Suuper nice. Must pay attention in class and read book.
What a fantastic teacher. TAKE EARLS! She will meet with and go over everything, so sweet, no stress, and knows her stuff well. Best prof at FU, hands down, and best I've ever had! Love her!
Wow. Prof Earls is hands down the best professor at this school. She has helped me so, so much, despite the fact that she has so many students. She is funny, brilliant, & makes you feel smart too, even if you're confused. She genuinely cares about every student & gives 110%. So thankful I had her. DESERVES a RAISE for all her hard work & dedication
Powerpoints are lengthy and wordy. Goes over material and then flips through slides quickly. Says she goes over everything in lecture but on tests it's more in depth and by means of the textbook. Willing to help you out but exams are difficult. In lab, great person and source for help. Lecture is hard; you have to give your all in this class.
I had her for lab, not lecture, but she is very informative in lab and clearly knows what she is talking about. She will help you outside of lab and accommodate any special needs you have. She is very genuine and wants her students to do well. I definitely recommend her for A&P lab.
Prof. Earls is a decent instructor, but there are better. Lectures can get confusing as she will spend 20 min on a topic and then say she got confused and had it backwards. This was a horrible way to learn. So watch out for this. Try to teach yourself the material and you will be better off. I got a B in the class thanks to me reading the book
Amazing teacher-attentive, approachable, intelligent and caring. You will never feel unsupported!!
this class was hard and Prof. Earls didn't make it easier. Lectures were hard to follow. She never really talked about what was on the exam. What we did in lecture was barely on exams. Had to teach myself most of the material, which is why I didn't do good. Take someone else if you want to do good and become a nurse.
I'm so glad I'm in her lecture and lab sections !! Absolutely awesome teacher! Knows everything about how the human body works and really cares about the students! Her class is not just memorizing for tests, but understanding how to use what we learn. She does everything she can to help students learn and I feel very well-prepared for nursing.
Take Earls! She is simply the best!!! Spends lots of time for her students - always there for you!
Just had first exam for class. Material on test wasn't even covered in lecture. This is ridiculous. Spends more time telling stories then actual lecture. I don't recommend this professor to anyone. Her teaching style is horrible and hard to get the material. I usually have to study the material on my own. Avoid at all cost if you want a good grade
Best A&P professor!! Love her! Her tests are very fair if you actually study the material she CLEARLY explains in class. She is super smart and super nice and an excellent teacher!
Simply the best teacher I ever had!!
Great teacher! Take Earls!
Professor Earls is a nice lady but not a good lecturer. She confuses herself and us every single day. Do not take her for lab. She makes it so boring and is unclear. She is approachable and kind, but the class is so hard. The material is hard and Professor Earls does not help to clarify it. There are 4 tests and a final.
Prof. Earls is a really sweet lady, but she is not a good lecturer or lab teacher. She gets confused and tells horrible stories that have nothing to do with lecture. Lab is boring and she doesn't make learning the material easy or clear. There are other resources on campus that make learning the material easy. Go to open labs and learn on your own.
Wow! I love Prof. Earls! I don't know what some of these people are talking about! Her lectures are amazingly clear and very organized! She puts her all into every class and lab and it shows! She is an excellent teacher who gives clear, interesting lectures and very fair tests! Best A&P prof! I learned so much!!
Prof. Earls really does care about her students... BUT that is about it. Her lectures are long and boring. She goes off on tangents and has a hard time getting back to the material. This makes needing to know what is on the test very difficult. Had to read and learn way too much stuff and barely was on test. She doesn't really prep you for tests
Are we all talking about the same professor? Her lectures are amazing, clear and interesting! There was not one thing on the test she didn't talk about in class! She even records her lectures - check your facts before complaining!!! My favorite class and teacher here!!
Absolutely love Prof Earls!! Great teacher, makes class so fun. She makes the information easy to understand and is great at answering questions. My fav class!
Tests are tough as lectures didn't really cover the stuff on the test. Lectures were a bit boring & the lectures were monotone. University makes it tough to switch, so you are stuck for one year. Have her again in a spring. My suggestion is to study the book and power points. Spend a lot of time out of class to do well. avoid if possible.
I have her for lecture. She gives tough exams that do test on stuff she does not cover in lecture. She moves really slow, then tells us to catch up with the material on our own. This makes studying for exams hard, as. I was always confused as to what to study. I've gone to see her in office hours a few times. Helps a little, but try other profs.
Dr. Earls is one of the best professors I have ever had. Being a bio major, I remember the dread of Gen Bio 1 and 2, this is similar, as there is a lot of content to go over. But if you go to class, pay attention, keep up with material, she will NOT led you down. She is very open to help, and her lectures cover all of the exam material!
Simply the best A&P prof. Doesnt speed through lectures/powerpoints and explains details clearly. Really cares about her students and makes lectures interesting with real life applications. Love her!
Sweetest person you will ever meet. Explains things so clearly during lecture it is impossible not to understand the topics.
Dr. Earls is a pretty good lab teacher. Shes tells us what everything is and what would be on the exams. But, lecture is a little different. Takes too long to explain things, examples are difficult to understand (spaghetti something...?) Can do well, don't miss a lecture, audio recordings don't help. OK for lab not for lecture.
Love her!! Best A&P Professor!!
I had the pleasure of having Anthony in the fall and Earls in the Spring, I can compare the 2 A&P professors. Earls' lectures are more detailed than Anthony's, they are also slower, more drawn out and less engaging. She allows you to use a laptop, which can be good unless you are easily distracted. Her tests are VERY difficult. Study up, buttercup.
Earls actually teaches what we need to know instead of letting class out 20 minutes early almost every day because she breezes through the material. As I went through my nursing courses, I felt much better prepared having had Earls! She really cares about each student! Shes the best!!!
Anatomy was truly one of the hardest courses I have ever had to take. Luckily professor earls was able to meet for office hours frequently and understood the level of stress her students were under. She is very caring and was helpful during office hours. But it is easy to fall behind in the big lecture setting.
Good lecture teacher. Prof. Earls records her lectures which is nice, but lectures are slow and a bit boring. Tests cover most of the material we do in lecture, but there are a few curve balls, which can make it tricky to do really well. Have to study on your own. When asked how to do well , she says to read notes repeatedly. Not helpful!
I love her! She is such a good teacher and she is brilliant! Always patient and answers all our questions! Tests are very fair. She is the best!
Prof. Earls is such an amazing professor! She is so interesting and knows so much. It is easy to learn difficult material when she explains it. My favorite class and favorite professor!!
Amazing Prof, really cares about her students and is super accessible outside of class. Lectures are clear and engaging and the tests are exactly like what she lectures. Take good notes and you'll do fine. Lots of material but she teaches it well and wants her students to succeed.
Literally the most amazing professor I have had. She's so sweet and caring and really understands the struggles of her students. I felt comfortable talking to her about anything and she was truly so helpful.
Earls was a pretty good A+P I professor. Because she is so detailed in her lectures, it can be difficult to pin-point what exactly you will need to know for the exams... so, I just had to study EVERYTHING. But she's very nice and helpful during office hours. A+P is just one of those courses that you really have to teach yourself. I recommend Earls.
My brain does not work the way Prof. Earls teaches. Lectures are very slow and monotone. There is way too much information and it is impossible to learn. She doesn't really focus on what is on the test. You are really on your own. I switched due to a scheduling issue and my grade is suffering. Hard!!
Fantastic! So kind and helpful even with the switch to online thx to corona. Great professor who works hard for her students!
I may actually cry not being able to take her class again. I was failing the beginning of the year and after going in for office hours, my grades shot up. She's so helpful and caring and I could not praise anyone higher.
Absolutely the best. She is the nicest teacher I had this year and definitely knows her material. Made one of my hardest classes much clearer to understand and grasp. Tests are straightforward and she gives study guides
for nursing majors, earls is your go to for anatomy. although she can ramble on at times, she writes study guides for tests that outline exactly what material is on them. A&P is not an easy class, but she'll help you through it. very sweet and kind lady!
She can ramble on a bit during lecture/get off track, but that's the only downside to her. She is a great professor--she's super approachable and sweet and really wants the best for her students. Keep in mind that anatomy is hard regardless of the professor, but she really helped and even rounded my grade up at the end of the sem from a B- to a B.
Prof. Earls is a very nice lady, but not a good teacher. she confuses herself during lectures. When everything went online because of corona virus, it was difficult to follow. Lectures had a lot of background noise, I could barely hear. I did bad on the exams as a result. Zoom meetings were pointless. Do not take her online or in classroom.
Best professor in the world. I have never seen anyone explain things so clearly. Caring and always willing to help. Best professor for anatomy.
If you have the choice to take professor Earls do it! She is the sweetest and most caring professor I have ever had. As long as you go to lectures and really listen and take notes you will do good in the class. She is also always available to go over tests or for office hours and really puts in effort to make sure all her students do well.
Prof. Earls is fantastic! I was worried about the online format due to Covid, but she makes you feel like you are right there with her. She makes sure you understand everything and will meet with you anytime to give extra help. She is sooo smart, warm and engaging! I love her class - shes the best! So glad Im in her class!
Online classes were hard. Dr. Earls doesnt make it easier. She tried really hard to give us the information, but was not clear and confusing at best. I ended with a B in this class. Expect to spend a ton of time teaching yourself the material. super friendly and nice. Not taking again her again for ap2.
Many other students in Prof. Earls anatomy sections who I have studied with agree that she is an amazing professor! We love her!!! Her lectures are so clear and she relates them to what we will be doing in our professions. I had her for lab and she was great! She provided us with so many helpful materials and helped us all along the way.
Really tough class and really tough teacher. I dont understand whats going on in class with online lectures. More questions than answers. Im not vocal so this doesnt help me. Have to pay a tutor to teach everything over again. Recording are low quality and not helpful. I wont pass with Prof. Earls!
Switched this semester to Earls. LOVE HER!! Im learning so much!!
anatomy is definitely a difficult class no matter the professor. earls is a sweetheart and genuinely cares about her students. can be a bit monotone at times, but overall a good professor. you have to pay attention to lectures if you want to pass
She was the best professor!! The class was very hard but she helped in anyway she could!! If you are taking anatomy take it with Earls.
Professor Earls is a great anatomy teacher. She is great at answering questions, has easy homeworks with very reasonable due dates, and is very dedicated to helping her students understand exactly what they are learning about. You can tell that she loves what she teaches and loves to teach. She is very accessible outside of class with helping!
Prof. Earls is a nice lady that really is caring. However, lectures are slow and boring. Sometimes lectures do not follow slides and was confusing. Exams were extremely tough and did not cover the stuff we did in lecture. No matter what I did I couldn't get good grades with this professor!
Prof. Earls is really nice. She explains the lectures well and always tries to make sure we understand the material. Sometimes she can lose her place or say the wrong thing but she corrects herself. Tests are fairly simple as long as you study.
Professor Earls is a very caring woman who takes pride in her work. Maybe it is a matter of preference, but I just cannot succeed in her class. She is very lecture heavy and does not explain the material well enough. And her tests are impossible. Half of the information on tests is not covered in lecture. I will not be taking a&p with her again.
I have learned so much in this class! Earls is an excellent professor-best I've had! Tests are extremely fair. She uploads recordings of every single class for the semester to BlackBoard so you can refer to those if there is a problem with your notes or to see if a topic on a test was covered in class. She explains everything clearly. Love her!
Professor Earls is a very sweet lady. She goes through the lectures very thoroughly but can be boring at times. Her tests are very difficult and sometimes contain material that was not explained in class. This is definitely a tough course but Christine cares about you as a student and will help go over material again if needed.
Had for lab/lecture. She is phenomenal at explaining A&P and truly knows her stuff. Both lab/lecture are lecture heavy but I think it benefits for practicals/exams. She is super friendly and helpful, but seek help before it is too late! She made lab enjoyable for me this semester. You will not regret taking her for either lab or lecture.
She's a very rude woman who picks favortites. Lectures can get a little long at times but she makes real life connections which I find helpful. There have been times where some of the material on the tests were not what we covered in class, which didn't help my grade. Tests get harder as you go, 3 in total plus a final.
The kindest, smartest and most caring professor. She makes time to meet with anyone in the class. She believes in every single student! I was overwhelmed with the material and she calmed me down and gave me a study plan after the first test and I ended with an A- thanks to her willingness to spend time with me, her kindness and belief in me.
Prof.Earls is a sweet woman, she just not a good professor. Reads directly off the ppts and tends to get side tracked very easily. If we get behind (which was often) she would skip over material on her Ppts that you would need to know but she wouldn't tell you. She was very rushed and the tests were not even really hers, so never knew the material.
THE BEST A&P professor!! Always available by email for help. She is with you every step of the way!
Simply the best!! Brilliant, a super teacher and cares so much about her students.
Professor Earls is a great teacher. Her powerpoints are good, and she goes over everything in depth. I thoroughly enjoyed the class. Recommend reading the textbook and using that to study. I did not, which is the reason for the bad grade. More than willing to meet outside of class. Does not do study days for tests/.
Very good for lab. Goes into detail about what you need to know. Only frustrating thing is that she keeps you in class until the 2 hours and 50 minutes are over, even if you finish lecturing. Quizzes are online every Tuesday for 20 minutes. easy to study for if you pay attention. only graded on quizzes and practicals.
She gives a major final exam review session for all her students! Students from the other A&P sections want to come, but not enough room. She is so available outside class and extremely caring and helpful! I learned so much and am so glad I was able to get her next semester!!
Not a bad instructor, but lectures are very dry and boring. I didn't do well on exams as lectures didn't really cover what was in class. I am not taking again, following the direction of other students and going to a different teacher.
I loved everything about this class! Dr. Earls is amazing! Lectures are clear and you know exactly what is expected. Very fair and always available to help! Glad I was able to get her again next semester!!
Tough subject! Awesome professor!!
Test questions are very simple and easy, lectures are recorded. On the first day she tells you how to study and if you do exactly that you will be fine.
Professor Earls is hands down one of the sweetest teachers I have ever had. Anatomy and Physiology is a hard class, but she does a really good job preparing you. Her lectures are helpful and she even records and posts the lectures online. She clearly cares about what she teaches. Highly recommend.
Professor Earls is very lecture-heavy. There is weekly - bi-weekly homework and 3 main tests for BIO1107. She is good, but her lectures can be a bit boring and long. Her tests can be tricky, so studying is key (like most classes). She can be an acquired taste but her true focus in on her students. Take her if you have the chance!
Lectures are so clear and organized! She teaches with interesting applications to our careers which really helps! So glad I could get into her lecture section for second semester! Earls is the best!
Prof Earls is one of the most caring people I have ever met. She understands when we are struggling and never puts us down, instead she gives feedback to succeed. Her office hours are super helpful, take use of it. Lectures are long and some of the material gets briefed over (which you end up needing to know more about). Tests are difficult but ok.
Hard class but nice
Fantastic prof!! Loved her class!
Class load isn't bad and she's so caring just really study
She was very good for anatomy. Be prepared to stay the whole class, but she explains topics in very good detail that gives a clear picture of the material. I would highly recommend her to any freshman nursing majors for anatomy. Also, she's really nice!
I had her for lecture and lab and loved her for both. She is very clear and gives you all the diagrams to help you study. Very kind and thorough in her lectures. A lot of studying, but that will be with any anatomy lab.
Prof. Earls is very nice, but her lectures are very boring and slow. I would not recommend this teacher for AP1. There are better options at Fairfield. I actually tried to switch to a better professor, but we are not allowed to pick our classes, so I got stuck with the same. I actually see my lab prof. for help in explaining lecture better.
Very nice. course is hard but she makes it easier and really wants her students to succeed. 3 exams worth 65%. final is worth 25% and weekly homeworks worth 10%.
I panicked in the beginning but once you figure out how to study you'll be fine trust me. She will help you decide what methods work best for you in order for you to succeed. I found listening to her lectures she recorded sooo helpful. So so nice I absolutely adored her. I am def taking her for AP2
Absolutely amazing professor. Super nice and willing to do her best to help her students succeed. The course is tough but as long as you study you will be fine. My best advice is to listen to what she has to say about study tips and talk to her if you are struggling.
Very nice teacher who cares about her students. Very helpful when met one on one. Her lectures are boring but are recorded and can be listened to after class. She struggles to anwser questions without making it more confusing.
I had professor Earls for anatomy both semesters.Sometimes she can get a bad rap just because the course is difficult, but she really does set up her students for success. Anatomy is a hard class but Earl's power points has all the information you need to study.Earl's is very thorough and wants everyone to do well, she is really such a sweet woman.
She is very nice and seems to care for students. Goes on long tangents in lecture about things that won't be on the test. If you can take Anthonys class I would suggest switching.
Earls is the best professor! A&P is a tough subject, but she explains everything so clearly and makes class enjoyable. She is so caring about each student and will help you succeed. Take her!!
Very clear and empathetic, but also very realistic. Truly just wants to see her students succeed
She is just ok. Lectures can be very boring I wish I had a opinion to take Anthony
Professor Earls is very knowledgeable and takes the time to explain each topic to make sure everyone understands. Her lectures can be slow, but it's because she explains everything in detail. She truly cares about her students and will work with you considering how hard the class can be. I would recommend taking her!
I absolutely love Prof. Earls! She tries to make lecture as interesting as possible, and make the material relatable to real life. Earls is very accessible outside of class and over email, and is very helpful at answering any possible questions. She is very understanding, reasonable, and truly wants everyone to succeed.
Professor Earls really takes the time during lecture to make sure that her students understand the content being taught in lecture. She relates topics back to the medical field so that her students understand the importance of them. Very accessible via office hours and email to answer questions! She cares a lot about her students success as well!
Professor Earls is a very kind woman. She truly cares about her students, but A&P is just a hard class. At times, it was hard to pay attention to her as she talks pretty slow but if you pay attention you'll be fine. 3 exams and then the final.
Prof. Earls is helpful and caring, though her lectures can be dry. Her recordings and unstuck study AI are great study aids. With engagement, you can do well in this challenging but rewarding course.
Professor Earls was so sweet! My only complaint is that her lab quizzes were kind of confusing and less straightforward than the ones I had in a+p 1 with Anthony. She is very understanding, but just lectures for 3 hours and you don't always get the chance to see the models. If you don't get Anthony, she is definitely a great second choice though!
She is pretty slow when going over slides and sometimes we fall behind compared to the other classes. She gives study guides. Tests are lowkey pretty hard though so you need to study
Best A&P professor!!! Really wants students to see the application of the material for what they will be doing. A&P is a tough class, but she makes it soooo interesting!
AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Anatomy is tough as it is, Professor Earls makes it 10x harder. Never finished lectures on time so everyone would have to cram and teach themselves a full chapter 2 days before a test, full of snarky comments, isn't supportive when you are struggling or have questions, makes lectures way more confusing. Idk how I passed
Absolutely the BEST professor! Love her!
Take Earls! Amazing prof.
Prof. Earls puts her heart and soul into teaching and guiding her students. She wants you to succeed in her class, but also to bring what you learn into your patient care. Love her and loved her class!
I had Earls for A&P and she was great! She is so approachable and kind, and really wants her students to succeed. She is really good at giving clinical applications to the stuff that we are learning and makes difficult concepts seem more accessible to students. I'm so glad that I had her!
she is so sweet. go to her office hours and she will go over anything with you and help you so much. tells you what you need to know for the quizzes and practicals the week prior. a little slow sometimes but helps you so much.
