I really liked her, she is very helpful. I would take her anytime, not to mention she is "hot"
Professor Jenkins is more than helpful if you are willing to ask for help. She is a very nice person and very knowledgeable. I could not have asked for a better professor at Hudson Valley. She has helped me understand things that two other professors could not. I wish she could teach all my classes. ;)
She is a great professor. Very understanding and helpful. Always willing to help
Prof. Jenkins is such a wonderful professor, if you should be so lucky to get her. She makes her class easy, but at the same time you actually learn. She gives you helpful tips and hints in lecture. And she makes herself available for any questions you may have. I wish she could teach all of my classes.
Ms. Jenkins is probably the best teacher I have ever had. She makes it very easy to understand the material. She is always willing to help. You can tell she really loves her job. A+++
Had her for A&P I - good teacher, knows her stuff, her tests were a bit more challenging relative to other professors at HVCC but it was still very manageable. Just study and you'll be fine in her class.
Lecture not mandatory, lab is. follow the lecture printout and it's simple
She made me hate Anatomy to the fullest extent. She shows allot of favoritism. If you want to do well DO NOT TAKE HER!
I thought she was okay but she goes through her lecture presentations way to fast and in lab expects you to know exactly what your doing. Sometimes WE DONT EVERYTHING JUST BECAUSE YOU DO!! and also there could have been more tests broken down into smaller sections or something i dont know! SHE MAD CLASS MUCH HARDER FOR ME THAN OTHER PROFESSORS!!
I had her for lab only and she was absolutely horrible she would say to study one thing and then give you something entirely differnt. has favorites and doesn't like you to ask questions even though she says you can goto her whenever you need something. when she talks she looks like a bobble head with a stupid grin on her face. DON'T TAKE HER!!EVER
she was not helpful at all! if you had questions you needed help answering on lab reports she would tell you to google it! DONT TAKE HER!!!!!!!
She is very well organized and gives you the tools to make it easier to learn. She posts her powerpoints so you can print them and follow along in class. She tells you what is valuable to know and what is just informational. Lab is mandatory attendance while lecture is not. I would definitely take another class with her. She's entertaining.
You couldn't ask for a better professor. She is and was more than than accomodating. Even as a former student, she still helps out with questions and concerns. Makes class interesting and relates to the real world.
Couldn't ask for a better professor. She is an excellent professor and knowledgable with medical terminology. This is helpful for people looking to go into health fields. She is willing to go the extra mile for her students and has flexible office hours. You would be a fool not to take her class.
She is an asset to the college and the bio department. You should definetly take her class. Helpful and willing to help students with whatever they need. She's a great professor
I had Jenkins for my A&P I lab and I absolutely loved her! I got an A in lab...She is so helpful, and she tells you exactly what you need to know for the tests. Shes so funny and nerdy and totally awesome..I definitely recommend her!
I absolutely love Prof Jenkins. She is extremely helpful and makes an extremely hard subject easy to understand. She is very funny and very organized. She doesn't give homework and she tells you exactly what is going to be on her tests. I wish she taught a and p 2. I highly recommend her.
her tests are really hard in lecture, lab was easy. got a C in lecture and an A in Lab. If you ask a question she will tell you to look it up online. Wouldn't recommend her for A&P
shes hot, did not learn a thing from the class the lab was so hard!! could got give a word bank :( the reg test was major hard! I would not take the class from here. I would take the class online if you could. That's the only way I passed.
Overall she is a good teacher and extremely knowledgeable in her subject area. However, she never made me feel comfortable asking her a question, and even seemed annoyed with questions at times. I agree with other comments here that she seems to have favorites as well.
She will be better physical training instructor than a professor. Do not take her class. She will overload and overwork you with unecessary, meaninless and irrelevant assignments so as to destroy your grade.
currently have her for a&p. she might be the worst professor I've ver had. she does not make you feel comfortable asking questions, nor does she give you a straight answer it's always a run around with her. she expects you to be on the same knowledge level as her from the second you walk into that class and were clearly not. I DO NOT recommend her.
I had great experiences with the previous 5 classes I had taken at HVCC, but being in her class made me hate school all together, not to mention A&P. Such a mean, unhelpful teacher. She plays favorites, does not help you AT ALL with questions (says "google it"), and overall had a negative attitude and demeanor. Also; her tests are impossible.
One big NO! Do not take this professor. Thinks that she is a better person than most, and she is not. I don't think there is a reason why a teacher needs to treat their students with attitude and grandeur. It doesn't help us! If you do take her, don't be late or she will embarrass you.
I took this nutrition class online over the summer, in 6 weeks. It was amazing. Definitely an easy A if you just do all the work! Her powerpoints are crystal clear and she is VERY organized. This helped me succeed, especially online. The class flew by, and tests were fair/somewhat easy (most questions are from the quizes).
I took Professor Jenkins for A+P I lab. She is extremely clear, makes a difficult subject matter as easy to understand as possible. She's willing to stay and help or go over practicals. Nothing is a surprise in her class, she is well organized and tells you what is expected at the beginning of class. Put in the effort and you'll do well
This teacher has a good looking body she must eat so healthy and work out a lot. She looks good, she has a nice back side. But she is a hard teacher ands she I dont think is willing to find a way no matter what to get you in the class and then have you pass the class. She does not help u out a lot.
So far she's great! If you show up to class with her lectures already printed, pay attention and highlight what she specifically says to know and study what's stared you should do fine I've got 85+ on her last two tests attendance isn't required but going to class helps you know exactly what to study!Recording her lectures helps too.
One of the best teachers I have ever had. She truly cares about the students and even tells us that life is not just about A&P. Learned a lot from her! Make sure you attend all lectures and bring your ppt to class! She will tell you exactly what you need to know for the exam. Focus on that, and you will get an A.
Overall good teacher. She trys to make A&P as fun and easy to follow as possible. Dedicate alot of time to this course it is a lot of memorization! Lectures aren't mandatory but I recommend going with the print out handouts she has on blackboard(verysimilartotest)! Listen carfully b/c she does not like to repeat herself!
She has a good body, she must workout and eat right, and drink a lot of water! Besides that she is a very hard teacher I would try and take it from someone that is easier, she does not realy answer your question and gives you the run around.
She is possibly the meanest teacher i have had in my entire HVCC experience. Grades hard, no curve or homework to reenforce material/bring grades up. In addition she treats students like todlers and talks down to you whenever you have a question to ask. She only has four more years of school yet she believes she is better than everyone else.
Jenkins was an okay teacher. She is not lenient and she means exactly what she says. You will learn a lot in her class but you will also do a lot of work. I liked her, she is just a bit annoying with missing lab or class. Tests come directly from powerpoint. STUDY STUDY STUDY!
Professor Jenkins is fantastic. She's very organized & clear in her instruction. She builds from easier concepts to more difficult. She's always available for extra help. She grades super fast. She's enthusiastic about the material. She's approachable, yet professional. Her tests are fair. If I could give her a grade, it would be an A!
As a teacher she is great; engaging and makes the material very interesting. The only thing I was disappointed with was that she wasn't approachable. I was too intimidated to ask her a question, but the material she teaches sticks with you because she teaches it with such enthusiasm. Overall I recommend Professor Jenkins.
Cannot recommend this professor enough. Brings great enthusiasm to class and breaks things down in easy to understand ways. If you use the chapter outlines provided by her, show up to class, and put in some work at home, there is no reason you can't get an A in her class.
Professor Jenkins is one of the best professors I've ever had. There are no surprises on any of the exams, as everything is covered in class. The material in A&P can be tough but she does a great job explaining it all. She brings a lot of passion to class and encourages her students to do well not just in school, but in their personal lives as well
Show up to class, take notes and you will pass. Her PowerPoint & class talks trump the textbook (waste of money really). Pay attention and listen as she doesn't like repeating herself multiple times. She's fair, but there's no extra credit! She's very open an makes the class interesting. No favorites, she likes those who show interest.
One of the best professors, hands down. She puts concepts & terms in easily understood contexts and words. She makes the class easy. Attendance isn't mandatory, but her tests come from her lecture. Show up, show interest and don't be a jerk and you'll pass her class. It's not a hard class, but expect to memorize lots of info in a short time.
Was never a very strong student in her class, but she never held that against me. She may not seem approachable at first, but don't be afraid of her. She is clear, and so willing to help you. If you're serious about her class, and put effort in, she will do anything she canto make it understandable. Simple concepts to start! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Best professor ever! She is helpful, enthusiastic and approachable. She definitely expects a lot of work but it is all reasonable and meant to reinforce the content. I also highly recommend for online Nutrition class. She is VERY organized and posts grades fast! Truly cares about her students and shares life lessons as well as course material.
Rating her before the semester is over because she is AWESOME! This is my third time taking A&P and she is the reason I have an A. Show up to class and take notes-print the power points out. It is a lot of work on your own but youre in college so it makes sense. Tests are difficult. Just show up and listen and you will do well. By far my fav teach.
She is a tough but fair teacher. Expects you to listen and understand material. Shes VERY organized and lays everything out as easily as possible. Jenkins puts effort into each class and tries her best to make A&P interesting , she expects her students to put in the same amount of effort.
Amazing professor. She makes boring material interesting because she is so into it. Lab practicals are tough but really force you to learn. Sees her students as adults, so don't expect to be coddled, and she WILL call you out if you disrespect her or ask a question that is answered in the syllabus. Loved her class and learned a lot.
I loved Professor Jenkins enough to take her class a second semester. She wants you to succeed and does her best to make this difficult material clear. She has little tolerance for tardiness as it is disruptive to the class. Tests are hard but she's a fair grader. Always pleasant and energetic. A kind human being.
Come to class, listen, and don't show up late. You have to put in the work. If you do, and make an honest effort, you'll be fine! Don't be afraid to speak up, and ask. She's also very accommodating. Also, don't take things personally. One thing I have learned over the years of higher education is a lot of the syllabus rules, really are just policy
Her tests can be challenging as she asks very specific concepts for the lecture exams.
i signed up to do this class on blackboard but come to find out the she gives midterm and finials on campus..... I don't understand... if you signed up to do a class online the whole thing should be done online, not split!!!! If you have problems taking courses in class and want to take classes on blackboard, make sure you don't take her class!
It's a really hard class to take if you arnt ready to devote all your free time to it
Nutrition with Prof. Jenkins is a guaranteed A. She gives you everything you need to succeed: powerpoints, chapter outlines, AND study questions. Do the work, you'll get an A. Lectures are not mandatory, which was great for me because I found them difficult to sit through. She goes off track often and doesn't always focus on the material.
Jenkins was one of my favorite professors at HVCC. Shes tough but thorough and she's always available to help. If you have questions, ask! If you need time besides class to study, ask. Be on time, listen and find passion for what you are learning.
I loved her class! She's funny and very smart! Her tests are tough but they can be easy if you put in the effort....& She's always there if you need her and she offers plenty of extra lab time for studying.
Jenkins is hard. She is not clear with what she wants, one day she says 'this isnt on the test' and the test rolls around and there it is! She loves to call students out in front of everyone and I see that as disrespectful. I would not take another class of hers. She just expects us to know information, rather than teaching us.
When I first went and looked up Prof Jenkins I was amazed how she WASN'T at a 5.0 Prof Jenkins is absolutely AMAZING! her lectures are so enthusiastic and her teaching style is very charismatic she won me over in the first lecture, I'm signed up for AP2 with her already! Great teacher would recommend 10/10. Note: if you're motivated keep searching.
Professor Jenkins (don't call her Ms even though she doesn't have a doctorate) is hard and unfair, unless you're a chick she digs. Then she'll give you a break and extra attention in class. She does give challenging and worthwhile exams, so don't blow off any of her classes.
Strict, but rules are easy to follow. Show up to class on time & phones off/away. Had her for S&E Nutrition Lab & is very nice, accessible & helpful! Helped me greatly with study guides, and got 90+ on all lab quizzes. Funny & has entertaining labs. Tries to keep her classes lively, and advice is to see her during office hrs!!! Extremely Helpful!!
Great teacher! I don't understand why there is so many bad reviews, she is amazing! a&p is not easy.. it is not supposed to be. If you are comparing it to humanities classes or worse HS classes you will get a wake up call. THIS IS COLLEGE PEOPLE!! makes super complicated diagrams easy to digest n understand. ask 4 help FUNNY enthusiast teacher A+
Absolutely the worst! This professor enjoys makings exams confusing just to watch students fail. She will tell you repeatedly to study something thean ig will not be on the exam.
Prof. Jenkins is by far the best professor I have had. Her lectures are informative and detailed. her tests are predictable and always says what is going to be on the test. if you miss classes you will fail if you attend every class and study you will be successful. the people who are complaining are people who didn't put in the work. STUDY!
I am an older student and coming back to school is hard. I never took chemistry or biology, so A&P was like a foreign language. If you follow her guidelines you will do well. I took the 6 week summer class, it was intense but Prof. Jenkins enthusiasm for what she does makes you want to learn. So nice to come into a smiling professor each day!
Be aware that if you are taking her class online you have to take midterm and final on campus. This was extremely inconvenient, especially with a summer class. I had to travel the weekend of the midterm and the final. There is no flexibility, which is extremely difficult with a summer, online class.
DO NOT TAKE A CLASS WITH HER! Give so much work, quizzes and projects due each week. Multiple projects are due in the same week. A lot of lecture material. Slides dont match up with text book, if you email her she is not helpful. Worst teacher at Hudson valley
Terrible teacher. Makes everything very difficult to learn. Wouldnt recommend her to anybody. Gives way to much work and is an unfair grader
difficult grader, material doesn't match assignments. she thinks you have all the time in the world for her class.
she is not an understanding teacher and thinks her class is the most important. very strict about deadlines. exam questions were different than lecture material. you will have big projects due so prepare to do a lot of work
The absolute worst!!! She gives a ton of work like people dont have other classes and she is rude every time you e mail her. I wouldnt take another class with her if my degree depended on it
Dr Jenkins was an amazing professor. She clearly stated what she expected of her students from day 1. She added humor and life experiences in her lectures, always replied quickly to emails and is a very caring Professor. If you must be on your cell phone, dont waste her time/classmates time. Dr.J is there to teach, give her the respect she deserves.
I took Sports Nutrition and A&P online with Prof Jenkins. She is a FANTASTIC teacher. Her PowerPoints are almost always what is on exams. No, the class is not easy and you have to work, but this is college! She is one of the best professors Ive ever had at Hvcc
I was surprised to see so many negative reviews. A&PII isnt an easy A but Dr. J will help you succeed as long as you put in the work. She responds to emails quickly with detailed information and tells you exactly what you need for the exam. If youre looking to prepare yourself for your upper level classes, I highly suggest taking A&P with Dr. J.
Dr. Jenkins was awesome. She repeats the test material like 3-4 times in a row so you KNOW that's what you should be making note of. Labs were fun and she was always willing to help out. I would definitely take her class again
I feel with online classes, it's often difficult to get the same knowledge as in person. This was NOT the case with my online Nutrition class with Jenkins. I feel I learned so much from this class and felt I was fairly graded with my work. There is a bit more work than I've had from other online classes, but I felt it was entirely worth it.
I took A&P1 & A&P2 lab only with Dr. Jenkins and am very surprised by some of the negative reviews here. I had quite the opposite experience. She definitely made some hard classes a little easier for me to get through. She will make you work for your grade but she also makes it very clear about what you are expected to know.
Dr. Jenkins was the hardest professor I have ever had at HVCC. It is helpful that she gives out chapter outlines but the amount of information given on these outlines overlooks the tests given. She tells you to know this and that and it is not shown on the exams.
No problem answering emails. Made great powerpoints that were easy to learn from. I LOVE the feedback. To be honest, this class was the best online class I have EVER taken. So much better than my medical terminology nightmare
I was expecting the course to not be so much work but I was wrong. Professor Jenkins gave out quizzes each week which are timed and you can't go back to a question. The critical thinking assignments took forever to complete and she is a hard grader.
She has a ton of energy and keeps the material relevant. Good amount of homework, but overall a fantastic teacher. If you pay attention to lectures, you do not need to worrying about studying. She repeats key concepts and drills them into your head. One of the best classes I have ever had, highly recommend her!
Exams completely different from what is covered in lectures. Wipe away the fog from glasses because not only is she watching spelling errors but also setting you up for them on multiple choice (ex. Tibula and Fibia) . Two entire class averages on exams in the 60s! No other grading material besides these exams for lecture. NO! BAD! Majority fail.
I had Prof Jenkins for lab! She was super fun in her lectures and always easy to contact whenever a problem arises. I enjoyed her lab class and found that it was interactive in the best way. Work is important but not overwhelming. Highly reccomend.
Little to no feedback on anything, no understanding with IT problems late is late- doesnt matter why. Very little to Offer
I've taken two online courses with Dr. Jenkins, Nutrition and A&P II Lab. I have never learned more from any other professor. Her lectures are full of energy and enthusiasm even though they are online. Her nutrition course was a lot of work but well worth it- I still remember the material perfectly years later. Her exams are difficult so study!
I took Professor Jenkins for Bio270 Lab. Her teaching method was ok, but my class struggled with her practicals since she throws curve balls on material we barely went over. She's pretty funny also but is quick to check you if she feels you're challenging her logic. Overall, average experience. Easy to pass as long as you show up and do the work.
Professer Jenkins was by far one of my favorite professors this semester. Compared to others she actually has a personality and was so helpful and cared about her students. My classmates and I struggled in lecture and she always was there for us to help. Quizzes were very self explanatory and easy to study for. Loved her!!
AWESOME PROFESSOR, HARDER TESTS! I loved Jenkins teaching style, I learned a lot from her and she keeps her students focused. Her tests require a lot of studying to get a good grade, as the questions are a bit tricky and very specific. I enjoyed sitting in her lectures, but be prepared to really focus in and study for this class.
The class had nothing to do with my major, but I ended up learning more than any other class i've taken. Very glad I took this class!
I would definitely recommend Dr. Jenkins! She was a great professor. I took a 6-week online summer course, and it was a lot of work because it was so condensed but well worth it. I didn't feel too stressed about the workload. mid lectures, and she is available outside of class. if you're struggling, she's unequivocal and helpful.
Took her Nutrition course over the summer and I learned a lot. It was a great way to start college level work. The tests are challenging, so make sure you study. I would take it again.
Took online sports nutrition as an elective and learned a lot, highly recommend. Quizzes, exams and a few article reviews were graded, nothing crazy, everything is on the powerpoints. The one article review about gastric emptying was brutal but the others weren't bad.
We did not need a textbook, it was optional. We did have study sheets for note taking. (Which made it easier to break down the material). Attendance matters! No extra credit. Her test can be tricky but as long as you make the time to study, you will learn how to take her test. Overall, She was a wonderful teacher.
Dr.Jenkins makes learning fun; I enjoyed her lectures and ways of explaining she is very entertaining. The tests are fair, if you pay attention to her lectures power points and your notes, you will do great. She gives lab assignments for easy extra points if you want them. If you are planning to learn and not be stressed, take her!
Dr. Jenkins was very organized and very fair. She did not give multiple choice or word banks but she was very clear on what was on the quizes. She was always available to stay after class and responded quickly to emails. She made sure that people actually learned the material.
Not good she is not flexible at all I had a family member pass and would let me submit an assignment 5 min overdue. Very disrespectful
She's more than good enough of a professor, but can be overly technical on making you be specific on assignments where she doesn't specify. Sometimes it felt like the quiz questions weren't covered in the PowerPoints or lecture video. Should probably not give or critique people's diet as she's not a registered dietitian. Only qualified to teach.
Took both an online and in-person class by Jenkins. Online wasn't nearly as good as in-person. In-person, however, deserves high praise. Fun lectures that are also engaging and explained well. Though I wouldn't recommend her online class, her in-person class is very good.
Good professor overall. We had a week to complete a module (2 labs, quizzes, and lecture notes). This was a 6-week sprint course, but work workload was not too intense. She does not accept any late work and is very clear about her grading criteria. I liked her and would have her again!!! She made learning fun!
Her lectures were very engaging, very organized and has plenty of resources to help with learning. She is so funny and makes learning a hard subject fun. Appreciate the time she takes to answer questions.A&P 1 was challenging but never boring.Wish she thought more of the other nursing pre-reqs :) Would highly recommend!!
