She might have a few corny jokes, and her tests aren't always a piece of cake, but she will help you out in any way necessary. Plus, she gives a million review sessions and practice tests to help you out. Definitely get her!

Great professor, even if Biology isn't your best subject. She keeps class interesting, and even does a really helpful review session before each test, which can sometimes be difficult, so study hard! I highly reccommend taking Biology from her.

She's a very good teacher. She finds ways to make biology relevant even to non-biology majors. She actually has a sense of humor and keeps the lectures interesting for the most part.

I had Ms. Minor for labs and I loved her. I hated labs in high school. It was my biggest pet peeve, but she somehow made them fun. She explains the experiement VERY clearly before we actually do them, and for a non-science person this is important. Take her for lab if you get a chance!

Dr. Minor is a really sweet woman whose quite hilarious. However, her class is fairly challenging. But mark my words, you're gonna have to go to class. Even though attendance is not taken, you still need to be present for the lectures, because most of her "words" end up on her exams---seriously!!!!

Dr. Minor is cool. She doesn't ask for much and her tests are derived strictly from her notes. Most kids who do bad in her class are just plain idiots who take advantage of her no attendace policy. My advice to future students would be to not worry too much about the class (attend and take notes). It's the labs that's gonna be a pain in the "a**!"

She knows her material, but her lectures are power-point based, which can get somewhat dry, but we watched a couple of movies over the semester, too. Overall, an effective teacher.

This class was not hard at all for me. Attendence is not mandatory but there are in class assignments that she will give you if you miss class. Textbook not used at all and I got a high B would have been an A but her tests are all open response and take points for nothing even if your answer is very close to hers.

I really really liked Mrs.Minor. She was a great & fair teacher. She used many techniques for visual learners like myself which was very helpful. I took Prof. Minor for Bio203. The only grades were in class assignments and projects -- no tests. While this may seem like a good thing, Prof. Minor was a very tedious grader and you actually had to do very well on the few assignments to get a good grade. I recommend her for meticulous people who want to earn an A.

Take this class if you're not a science major. I absolutely hate science and think this class is pretty easy. Attendance not mandatory, but if you don't go to class you definitely have to read the book and study a couple days before the test. I took Professor Minor for BIO123. I'm a pre-business major and HATE science and she made it actually really interesting. Don't buy the book, I never cracked it open and got an A in the class. I'm a science minded person and I found this class to be a breeze. I was kinda unusual and I would warn non science people to pay attention in class and read definitions and graphs. I loved the teacher. She was funny and interesting. Labs were so awful though! Boring and slow as possible.

I literally HATE science and I managed to get an A in this class! As long as you show up to class and take detailed notes and study them the night before the test you'll make an A. She's really helpful and is super speedy on answering any questions you have via e-mail. She tells hilarious stories that somehow always manage to tie into the material.

Great non-major class. SO easy. I loved Mrs. Minor! Going to class is really important.. I could tell a difference in my grades when I didn't attend. Do the Mastering Bio as soon as you possibly can, study like she says, and you'll easily get an A.

Don't take for granted that this is an "easy class." If you do not attend you will have no idea what she is putting on the tests. If you want to easily pass, sit near the front and take notes on exactly what she says. If you want to actually learn, read the chapters in the book. This class was was awesome. She gives you everything you need to know to pass her tests during lecture. The homework is all online but you're able to use your notes and book to do it so its not hard. If you show up for classes, take notes, and pay attention to what she says you should have no problem making a good grade.

Attendance isn't mandatory and the slides are online. The downside is the exams are very challenging and detail oriented.

She's a really nice woman who makes it easy for non-majors to understand. She's patient and cool and will answer any questions you may have. That being said, I learned a lot of the course material in high school, so it wasn't very difficult for me. Slides are online, come to class, take notes, do the practice tests, and you'll get an A.

Go to class, it really helps. She doesn't take attendance, but she is a great lecturer and makes analogies to help you understand difficult concepts. Also make sure you stay on top of mastering biology assignments, if you don't do them on time, you lose points. 4 tests and an optional cumulative to drop lowest one. Tests are worth 90%.

She's really cool, but just don't miss class. Also, when you do things in class like debate make sure you pick the stance that she agrees with otherwise you just get a lower grade. Really dumb, but better than getting embarrassed in front of the class of the lowest grade.

For Bio in the News she sets up the class super clear and simple. You show up and discuss articles you've read online through your assigned website and you write a brief write up about it. We ended up writing like a 2 page double spaced report on one of the episodes of Planet Earth II for our final and had a pizza party during it. Super easy & fun.

Very unique class, most of the learning is done through reading nonfiction novels and short research assignments. Professor Minor loves to discuss the topic with students after class if you want to hang around and do so. This class is what you make of it.

She gives bonus points for showing up to lecture, and you're expected to do the homework on your own without being reminded. This course is not a common exam so whatever she covers in class is what is on your exams. Her final is not cumulative. Honestly, she's an amazing professor, so just take her class and show up. It's an easy A or B.

We used MyLab as our homework platform, and all of the answers can be found via google searches (or Chegg). She is an understanding lady who let our whole class do exam corrections for up to a whole letter grade increase when she does not usually do that. I benefitted from going to class, but you don't need to other than for attendance points.

You can definitely tell that Minor cares about biology. She gave pretty good explanations in class. I bought the online textbook and only used it for homework, but everything on the test was covered in lectures or online notes. Presentations were all posted online, which was really helpful.

Dr. Minor is not for the faint of heart, however, it is entirely possible to get a high A in her class. You just need to show up, apply yourself, do the study guides wayyyyyy in advance, and read the textbook. It is not an easy class by any means, but it is just a lot of memorization. Just read memorize the study guide.

Dr. Minor is a solid choice for BIOL 1100. Her exam aren't common so what you learn in class is what will be on the exam. She does not always make her own test questions so the key often has many mistakes and no test is the same so you could have a harder exam than your classmates. This isn't fair but doesn't greatly impact overall class grade.

Minor is a very difficult professor but in a good way. She always makes it known what she wants us to know, she's very sweet when you ask her questions, and she's very understanding. She does a great job at organizing the lab. The labs are coordinated with lecture which is nice; rubrics for EVERY assignment so you know exactly what to do if you put in the work. A fair amount of work each week but very manageable. Like all labs, TAs still make or break but they all grade fair. A great experience!

The biology lab is set up really well; there is rubrics for every assignment so you can always do well if you follow instructions. There was 2 lab reports and 2 practicals for the semester; study the kahoots and the powerpoints for the practicals and you should be fine. TAs are great!

If you are taking BIO 1100 or 1110, TAKE CLASS WITH PROFESSOR MINOR. She is amazing. If you put in the work, you will do great in this course. Professor Minor makes biology engaging. Her lectures are easy to follow, and she provides plenty of supplementary materials. unstuck AI was a lifesaver for practice tests - highly recommend!

Prof. Minor was an incredible professor. Her lectures were clear, and explained the content thoroughly. Her expectations are clear. She is tech-savy: posts all PowerPoint Slides, lecture recordings, and Extra help opportunities! My favorite professor of the semester, would defiantly take again!!

I loved professor minor. I thought she was a great bio teacher and she is very passionate about the subject. Attendance isn't mandatory and all the material is in modules, however I found that hearing the material again was helpful. Her tests are very fair and there are PAL session if you need extra help. She also hosts review sessions before tests

Professor Minor is very kind and cares about her students. Her lectures are very straightforward and make it easy to understand the content. I took AP Biology in high school and her class was very easy. If you just go to class and read the modules she gives you, you will do very well. Her exams are a lot easier than other professor's exams.

If you are a crammer & don't like going to lectures, then this class is for you. While Minor does great lectures and is hilarious, her modules on Canvas are incredible and you can easily not go to a single lecture and start studying the modules the night before the test and get an A everytime.

Directions for the labs are very clear, as are rubrics for assignments, and TAs are good. The one complaint I had about her lab were the prelab quizzes. You have to do a reading over the next week's lab before you come and then you have a quiz on it. Sometimes the questions are very specific, so make sure you it read carefully and take good notes.

She was a really good professor who really cared about her students. She gives a clear breakdown of what to study for exams with references and videos so you do not really need to go to the class but when you do she is very engaging.

Dr. Minor is a great professor as she is really good at explaining the content. She posts her lectures online so attendance isn't mandatory. Her tests are hard, but some questions are questions from the homework!

A lot of stuff she says while lecturing is extremely important to the exams but sometimes is not listed on the powerpoints, you just have to pay close attention. She's really cool and cares about her students, she gives out her personal phone number in case anyone needs anything.

She is a sweet lady who is very good at explaining confusing topics and the tests were always simple.

Dr. Minor is very engaging in her lectures and does her best to make boring topics fun. Her practice tests often are the actual test questions on the exam, so if you and some friends come together, you can make a really good study set. She is super easy to get ahold of and is very accommodating with whatever you might need. I highly recommend her!

Shes great!! Gives amazing information through modules, pictures, and homework assignments. She reuses a lot of homework questions and practice exams. She is super organized!

She's great and clearly cares a lot about what she's talking about, but pay close attention to the homework and any book material, she likes to test on things that she didn't cover in lecture, or just didn't go as in depth in compared to the homework she assigns

Professor Minor cares WAY more about her students than any other professor I've ever had. Her tests can be tough, but she tells you what you need to know. I got an A without once opening the textbook for anything but the homework. Biology 1110 is a tough class, but Minor is a good teacher with plenty of resources to help you succeed.

To get an A on all of the tests JUST GO OVER THE HOMEWORK/ICA/PRACTICE EXAM. She literally uses the same questions and maybe throws in 2 or 3 questions that we haven't seen. You will literally get an A if you put all the homeworks and the other stuff all in a quizlet or a quizzzezz and study it. The questions were literally the exact same.

She clearly loves what she teaches and she makes topics easy to learn. I skipped lectures for a while unit and just studied her unit summaries and got As on my exams. She is in charge of labs so she often relates labs to lectures. Majority of questions on exams are straight from the homework and practice exam so just study that and youre good.

This class is really not that bad. Minor records all the lectures and the tests are similar to the practice tests. I would take her for bio if you could. If you pay attention in lectures and study a bit you will be fine.

Professor Minor is so caring for her students and always really available outside of class. She reuses homework questions on exams so pay attention to those. Exams were pretty easy as long as you pay attention to the homework and ICA's. The lab was kinda tedious and work-heavy but easy as long as you try. If you can get her I would recommend.

Professor Minor is an amazing teacher, and it's clear she loves what she teaches. My biggest tip on getting an A is to rewatch the recorded lectures and takes in-depth notes there. She gives you far more than enough resources to thrive in this class. Study for the exam gradually, and DO NOT CRAM before each exam. Recorded lectures were a lifesaver.
