Dr mullen is a GREAT chemistry teacher, I was worried about this 222 but it was not a tough class at all with such a great teacher, she used a different online homework than owl, called sapling made it much easier to understand, the tests were difficult but if you study and go to class an A should be easily achieved

This prof is absolutely amazing! While her tests can be quite challenging, her office hours are very flexible and are what got me through the semester. She cares for her students success and is an amazing professor. She curves very graciously so if you did bad on an exam, you may get a 5-10 point curve on it. All I have to say is GET DR. MULLEN!

She is really an awesome professor. Even though I never read the book, I got through her class because of her lectures. She tends to crack some jokes so the lectures themselves are not really boring. She is really helpful, giving practice exams that look like her test and gives a lot of extra credit. I really recommend this prof.

Very good prof. Offers curves, practice exams just like her test, and extra credit. She is very nice, and is willing to help you anyway she can. Her test are sightly difficult but not bad. I would recommend her for sure!

She isn't the best at teaching chemistry but with tutoring, you'll be fine. Do ALL the extra credit she gives out and do the practice exams! Go to class because there are clicker questions most days they are a chunk of your grade. As long as your practice what she's teaching, you'll be fine.

Awesome teacher and a really caring woman. She is kinda nerdy but in the likable way. She posted notes before class to print off most of the time, but often did not get them ready in time. I'm awful at chemistry so it was difficult for me to understand but she's willing to help. The OWLs helped with grades and she held review sessions before exams

Dr. Mullen really cares about you learning and tries her best to help you succeed. Extra credit was offered numerous times, and all of her quizzes were announced. Her tests were quite challenging, but she curved a lot. Going to a tutoring service helped me out the most with this class.

Dr. Mullen is a GREAT professor. I was so scared about this class but she was amazing. You need to go to class for clicker questions and quizzes, but there are tons of opportunities for bonus points and she's such a good teacher. She will answer ALL your questions, she curves, and she's really nice. Put some effort in and you'll get an A.

I was terrified of organic chemistry because general chemistry was a complete disaster for me (CHEM 101:C & CHEM 102:D), but that wasn't the case for CHEM 222! Attend class, complete the homework ( NO Owls :) ), and ATTEND OFFICE HOURS anytime you do not understand a subject. If you do all this you'll make an A like I did.

She is an awesome teacher!! Go to lecture and do ALL the owls and you will do perfectly fine. She is always willing to help, tests aren't that hard and she curves A LOT! I would definitely take again. By far the best prof I've had so far.

I was dreading taking this class because I hate chemistry but Dr. Mullen made it very enjoyable. She really wants her students to learn and her lectures, which she posts online, are very organized. The only two problems I had with her were 1) she takes forever to grade/return tests 2) she wasn't always available outside of class. Still great!

Dr. Mullen is a pretty solid prof. The only downside is that she takes a long time to grade. I recommend printing off the lecture slides and taking notes on them, that way you don't have to try to draw molecules while writing down information. She made chemistry bearable. You'll want to attend lectures to get the extra credit!

She is very generous with points. She offers bonus points for going to class and as long as you use the study materials that she provides, you can make an easy A on all the exams. There's also not much homework. She has a pretty good sense of humor too.

Her lectures and practice material make the class seem simple and easy. But when it comes to tests it's mostly more advanced material that she failed to fully cover in class. And she takes a long time to get tests and quizzes back to students because of all the short answer questions.

My opinion might not be reflective of the average student because I've taken a lot of chem prior to 101, but the class just seemed very slow paced and the lectures were rather boring. Definitely do not take Mullen if you already know most of the gen chem concepts, you will hate class. Other than that, she's a nice lady whose class is a free A.

This professor gives over 150 homework problems over 1.5 to 2 weeks. Average 70 End of chapter problems and 40 mastery sections (2 problems per section). Don't take her if you don't want to spend 4+ hours a night on chem homework. Her lectures are long and dry in my opinion, but she has some sense of humor. Overall she's a nice lady.

Dr. Mullen is a good lecturer, but most of what she says in class can also be gotten from slideshow notes that she posts. There is also a lot of homework with little warning of when it is due.

Professor Mullen on paper seems to be one of the best for chem101, but once you actually have her, you will despise having to attend every class for participation points. When taking the exams, you feel like you worked out problems correctly, but the scores are ALWAYS lower than what you expect. The online homework takes a very long time to do.

Mullen is disorganized when it comes to her lectures which are also boring to sit through. There is ALOT of homework. Tests weren't that bad but most people failed or received low grades. She didn't really prepare the class for tests. Be warned she takes FOREVER to grade. She is a nice person just not the best chem 101 prof.

Dr. Mullens definitely knows what she is talking about but is terrible at teaching it. She goes through the information very fast and is not very clear on what she wants you to know. But by far the most frustrating is she takes forever to grade. Expect her to take at least a month to grade exams and quizzes.

Dr. Mullen is a very good Chem 101 professor. In my opinion, her lectures weren't boring. Her tests were difficult and not as easy as the examples she covers in lecture or in the homework. A downside is she is VERY slow at getting grades back. She's very caring and good at answering questions during office hours.

Professor Mullen is sweet lady, however our class only got to chapter 8 while other chem 101 classes got to chapter 8 or 9. The quizzes aren't bad and 3 are dropped. The tests are pretty difficult but if you know the material you should be fine. Make sure go to class because she gives out bonus points.

She was very slow with grading papers which was frustrating. The class itself is pretty easy and she gives you lots of resources to do well (and you don't have to buy a book so that's a bonus!) Print off the PowerPoints and take notes and you'll be so fine!

Dr. Mullen is great person, and a decent professor. She really makes you work for your grade however, studying for her exams is a pain because she isn't very clear on what she will test over and doesn't provide any practice exams. Not many people do well on tests. She gives A LOT of homework, but only because it is worth a test grade. Slow grader.

If you aren't good at chemistry, be ready to have to get extra tutoring. Not a clear teacher. I spent 6-8 hours on each homework assignment (2 per chapter). Exams were entirely too long for 50 mins given. She didn't seem to care I was struggling. Attempted to contact her numerous times for help and no response. Very little e.c. and no reviews.

Dr. Mullen is plain awesome. She explains slow so we wouldnt be tested on a lot of material on exams like other classes. She gives lots of extra credit and her exams are not not hard. She brings A LOT of question on the exam from her homework assignments and class lectures. She does clicker wuestions and homework at the end is weighed like an exam

Would not recommend. Tests are lengthy for time, and consist of many errors. Extremely slow grader, and takes forever to respond to emails. Fell behind schedule, and rushed last few chapters. However, extra credit was offered and was willing to help better understand topics.

Dr. Mullen is knowledgeable about chemistry, is passionate about it, and her class is easy compared to others. Her exams did not have any work out problems, and she even offered extra credit opportunities. The only real complaints I have about her is that she is very slow at grading and we didn't finish all the chapters we needed to before CHEM 2.

Her notes are not explained very well and goes over the slides very fast. On top of that, she arrives late. She tries her best at explaining but doesn't work for most of the class. Exams are MC but mostly FR. On the bright side she curves test by A LOT and provides 25 points for the final grade if you do reef polling. Takes about a week to grade.

I love her!! She is so kind and is always super helpful outside of class. She has lots of extra credit to give (if you show up for class) and she doesn't give much homework overall. Her tests are tricky sometimes, but if you work hard you'll be fine. I would take her again in a heartbeat!

Lectures are hard to pay attention to. I feel like I learned more from her SI than I did in class. She's also a horrible grader too. Don't expect your grade to be in the books until the class before your next test (if you're lucky.) After 14 quizzes, 3 exams, and 10 chapters of hw, there was only one grade in the gradebook.

Let me be honest here, all the people who gave negative reviews are mostly the ones who Q-dropped and left everything last minute. Yeah she is a slow grader but Dr. Mullen is a great professor bc she is highly accesible out of class, and helps you in any matter she can. This is Prof Mullens first year to teach Ochem 1. She is a nice professor but just not very organized. It took forever to receive test grades back!! If you study and go to A+ you should at least get a B or High C. You do have to put in the effort to receive an A in this class. She's an okay prof and I know Ochem is hard but she need to get organize

Mullen is very kind and obviously cares. However, she and her graders were behind on grading every test and you never knew your grade in the class unless office hours were scheduled to discuss it. DOES curve. There was much material to cover and in little time so she lectures really fast with 0 time to write; attendance was more for comprehension.

Professor Mullen is incredible, despite the fact that she should probably grade in a more timely manner. She makes the content quite understandable, but it is up to the student to work diligently, as ochem is a tough subject on its own. Make sure you show up to class, she has quizzes often.

Don't take her, she's sweet but is a late grader and takes off a lot of points on test for the smallest mistakes. Doesn't curve as much as the class average depicts. I'd rather have taken Santander or pennington (harder profs) and actually have learned something.

We didn't finish the last chapter, so I would advise reading ahead in the textbook so that you're always on top of the material. If you want quick grades, she's not the one, but I would still take her class again.

This professor is okay. The class is really hard and she does alright teaching it. She is caring and will go out of her way to help. She gives you tests from previous classes to study, but so far the tests we get are 100x harder than those. She says she doesn't trick you on tests, but she does... a lot. Difficult in class quizzes too.

This class is difficult enough as it is and this professor does not help in the least. Her weekly quizzes are annoying and even when you study are still difficult to do well on. She has these terrible "bare-bones" notes that she gives out so she can rush through slides and not worry about kids writing down notes. Gotta be good at teaching yourself.

I would recommend to go to office hours for help. Organic chemistry is not an easy subject, and getting by for each exam will only lead to more failure. Once you build enough courage to go to office hours to learn from prior exams, you will find out that Dr. Mullen is such a caring professor unlike some others. Don't let grades consume you. Study.

Okay O Chem is hard and this was Mullen's second semester teaching this course. Sometimes she is prepared for lectures, sometimes she's not. When taking tests, she would still be printing out exams when class started which is unaccepted. But she is a professor that genuinely cares about the wellbeing of her students and will make accommodations.

I struggle with chemistry and had dropped this course previously under another professor. The difference was enormous. Dr. Mullen wants her students to succeed and goes out of her way to try to help. I still struggled but at least I felt like I had a chance.

She's a sweet woman who cares a lot about her students, but her lack of professionalism is absolutely ridiculous. It took her 3 weeks to grade my section's first exams (even though the other sections got them back in 2), and she promised for this second round they'd be back in one week. Nope, another 3 weeks. She is late to every lecture and exam.

Dr. Mullen is a good professor, she teaches Organic well, and she is super sweet. Don't take her if you value getting tests back early, but if you don't really care about when you get your test back she's a really good choice. She answers emails pretty quickly. Loved Dr. Mullen! She's more than willing to help with anything you struggle with & offers really good feedback to help you remember. She does take forever to get exams graded & returned but other than that I highly recommend taking her! Also, her quizzes ask about the random details of her notes so make sure you study for those!

On the day of my third test, she showed up to class late with the tests, excusing herself by saying that she was printing out the tests...(on the day of the test). She prioritizes getting her lectures ready before class, but nothing else. Sometimes, she'll forget to upload her "bAre boNe" notes and lecture slides after class. Caring but late grader

You have to dedicate 100% of your time to this class. She says she does not try to trick you on exams when she definitely does. Go to A+ tutoring to pass. Very unprofessional. Comes late to lecture and exams. Does not respond to email. Don't expect an exam grade back until 2-3 weeks after the exam. Does not curve. RUN.

Absolutely awful!! The worst professor I have ever had, her complete lack or professionalism makes an already difficult course much worse. She has not shown up to one class on time, and she shows up at least 5-10 minutes late for every single test. Very scatterbrained and disorganized. quizzes every week, which no other prof does. DO NOT TAKE.

She took 4 weeks to grade 1st test. 3 weeks to grade 2nd. been 2 and a half since 3rd still no tests back and q drop is in 2 days.... she was late to first 2 tests by 1o minutes always seems to be scatter brained and rushing. She is honestly pretty understanding though and does want to help her students learn but easier grades from other 227 profs

Mullen is a good person but awful at grading! Takes weeks to get tests back and sometimes you went get your last test back until right before the next test. What's good about Mullen is she goes slower than the other ochem profs so if you're a slow learner she's good for that just be prepared to wait a long time for your grades.

I appreciated how Dr. Mullen was concerned for her students, but she has not taught the material very long. Because of that she is not all that prepared for class and is always late even on exam days. Her lectures/notes did not match her tests which made it difficult to pass her exams.

Professor Mullen is a caring person, but I don't recommend her as a professor. He lecture notes do not match her tests. However, the practice exams she posts maybe the day before the exam, if you're lucky, are somewhat helpful. Only thing positive I have to say is she curves exams. If you happen to take her you have to go to SI or tutoring.

Difficult class and material in general, but I really enjoyed Mullen as a professor. She explained difficult concepts well. She is extremely slow grading exams and would promise to have the grades back to us on a certain day and then would actually finish grading a week and a half later. Exams are 100% free-response. Difficult material, study hard.

She brazes over material in order to keep up with her impossible schedule. Her lectures are very difficult to keep up w/, even w/ already printed-out notes. Tests are graded at a very slow pace. I do not recommend her as a prof

DO NOT TAKE. The worst professor I have ever had, her complete lack of professionalism makes a difficult course much worse. She always shows up 5-10 minutes late for class and tests. Scatterbrained and disorganized. She has answered her own quiz wrong. She clearly does not understand chemistry and it is embarrassing she is allowed to teach at A&M.

O Chem is hard, but Dr. Mullen and her lack of professionalism made this class way harder. She was never on time to class/exams, and because of this, we were behind on material the whole semester. Our exams weren't representative of what was learned in class. She breezes through lecture with her awful bare bones notes. Def go to A+ if you have her.

Professor Mullen is a good teacher who cares about her student but is incredibly unprepared for any lecture, assignment, exam that we have. Came late and unprepared almost every single class, rarely knew what was going on and caused incredible stress for all of her students by taking over a month to give grades back.

Mullen is really sweet and cares for students, but her class... OWL average graded as is, no percent cutoff for credit, and due on WEEKEDAYS at 5 pm, not Sundays at 11:59 like every other prof. Writes the exams day or two prior, canceled an exam bc she couldn't print (20 min before class), and posts exam grades after roughly 3 wks. Look elsewhere.

I was reading a lot of reviews slamming Dr. Mullen so I felt compelled to right a review. I think she is good at lecturing and the amount of homework is reasonable. The only complaint I have is how slowly it takes her to grade exams (2-3 weeks). Each exam had a large curve and she gave two free one hundreds on quizzes at the end. She is an ok prof.

Be ready to work. Students who were made A's in gen chem were struggling with Dr. Mullen because of the material and the amount of work that has to go into O Chem in general. She really wants students to succeed but, like with any other prof at a large university, won't hand out A's easily. Make sure she knows your name, it'll go a long way!

She prioritizes making herself available for office hours. You need to know the information forwards and backwards to succeed in her detailed and challenging exams. She is only a couple minutes late and is always prepared with lectures and print-out notes. Go to office hours! The homework is manageable. Be prepared to memorize and study a lot.

she is REALLY sweet and cares about her students, but i BARELY passed this class. tests had barely had anything to do with hw or learned material in class. super hard tests, curves were HUGE bc of how poorly everyone did. i suck at chem anyway, and i just did not like her teaching style; fast, lots of teaching mistakes, etc &gave back grades late

I haven't had her long, but as somebody with mental illness, on the first day of class she let us know that she is a mental health advocate and that she will work within the parameters of our disease, which has been different from every professor I've had so far. Highly recommend for anybody with mental illness who needs that extra encouragement

During the transition from regular class attendance to online classes, Dr. Mullen heavily increased the workload by expecting what was a class that only met twice a week, to become an everyday class. Though she is available, she sets unrealistic expectations without giving proper notes. I wouldn't recommend her because she is all over the place.

Final is tomorrow and she hasn't emailed anyone back or been to office hours in over a week. Said she was going to give us at least a list of topics to focus on and hasn't done that. The only ochem professor I've heard of to make the final proctored. She is extremely disorganized, showed up late to class all of the time and extremely slow grader!

Dr. Mullen is one of the most caring professors I have ever had. Online classes were tough for everyone, but she worked to make it so we could all still learn. Of course O-chem is difficult, but she tries as much as possible to help everyone.

She is very approachable and is always in her office. She genuinely likes teaching, and it shows. It was hard when classes went online in March, but when I was IN CLASS I made good grades. Tests are definitely tough, but are curved. Practice the exams from previous semesters and ALWAYS go to class. Will be taking for Ochem 2 in the Fall! :)

Professor Mullen was fine when classes were in person, but once the switch to online was made her class became much more difficult. Ochem is difficult enough but she showed no real initiative in making sure her grading standards and testing was fair and comparable to the beginning of the semester. She didnt really curved; grading takes forever.

Overall amazing professor. Definitely has one of easiest exams other than GG (this was confirmed by my SI as well) and teaches well. She cares a LOT about her students but is rly disorganized and grading takes VERY long. If u can deal with waiting long for grades, take her and go to office hrs because they helped me understand lots of hard material

Very late posting everything but was extremely flexible & understanding if you need an extension. She speaks slowly & easy to understand. The format of every chapter was consistent & followed a pattern. Watch lectures & do the homework & the tests aren't too bad. Textbook came with online homework system- didn't need to read but had practice probs.

I had Mullen in the spring when COVID hit and we went online. Ever since the beginning she was concerned with our mental health and understanding of the material rather than the deadlines. Go to office hours, shes always there. She gives out scheduled quizzes, hw on oWL, and exams. After an F with Waas in 227, Mullen was the angel I needed to pass.

Dr. Mullen is one of the best professors I've had. She cares a lot about her students and truly just wants everyone to learn and pass. She's very understanding when it comes to work-load and will adjust due dates if the students are struggling. This class is very difficult, but having her made me more comfortable. Study hard and go to her lectures!

Dr. Mullen is so sweet and caring. She wants to be helpful, but she's not very accessible. It is very challenging to get in contact with her if you don't see her in person. She takes FOREVER in grading. We got our first test nearly two months after we took it, one a week before finals, and the the last two only one day before the final.

Knowledgeable person, but bad at teaching the material. She takes forever with grading (2 months for the first of four midterms, got 2 of our exam scores back just days before the final), is practically inaccessible via email, is VERY unreliable, distracted, and overall seems lost when handling online work. Nice person, god awful professor.

Dr. Mullen was a kind teacher but an awful professor. She was the slowest grader I have ever taken. We received 2 of our test grades on the day of Q drop after weeks of waiting. It was impossible to create good study habits for exams since we had no grades to go off of. Avoid if you can.

First year for 228, and it was a mess when it came to grading and posting assignments on time. She's a great lecturer, and made sure you understood things. Take her earliest class because she will cover the material in a more timely manner. I passed bc of e.c. She is very kind and even helped me with a personal issue when I had nobody to turn to.

This was the first time she taught 228 and it was terrible. I never understood her lectures and I feel like I learned nothing. She waited 3 months before giving our first test grade back and was very slow on giving any grades back. Tests were multiple choice and open ended.

GO TO CLASS! Dr. Mullen is a tough professor and is closed note and free response, but she is a fair prof and does tend to curve a decent amount. If you take her class go to office hours and class and do not slack on learning reactions. She will do her best to help you, but you'll need to memorize the reactions to do well.

She has good lectures that are easy to understand but the amount of time it takes to grade tests is horrible! Exam 4 is next week and we haven't received the grades for exam 2 or exam 3. She takes about a month to grade each exam, so we have no idea how we are doing in this class coming into the last few weeks of the semester.

While Dr. Mullen is a caring professor, her class is not the most clear. Tests are free response and very difficult. Curves had to be made for many to pass. It also takes a long time to receive test grades back and at this point in the semester, I am entirely unsure what I have in the class.

You can tell Dr. Mullen knows her stuff and truly cares for her students... That won't help you pass the class, tho. She goes through her slides so fast, I had to get an iPad and download them bc handwritten notes were impossible. You would literally hear ppl scoff bc she goes so fast. I would have made a C in the course and could have pulled a B, but I was far from confident enough to do so. The exam grades are much like everyone else has said - they take forever to be returned. She is very caring and a lovely woman, but I would definitely retake the class if I wanted to actually do well. Best if you can memorize everything.

Organic chemistry is a tough course overall but Dr. Mullen is a solid choice. She is extremely caring and willing to work with everyone. Also, she is very understanding and willing to adjust due dates/assignments. Her tests are all free-response but she provides old exams that were very similar. My one issue is she does take forever to grade.

Dr. Mullen is very disrespectful in the way she expects students to act compared to herself. She takes MONTHS to grade. I had her in the fall, and it is now January and our class doesn't have the last tests grade, the final exam grade, or the overall course grade. its terrible, she makes deadlines and then when they pass she always has a bs excuse

Takes forever to grade exams, puts them into canvas 2 weeks after exam. 40-80 problem homeworks weekly, although homework is graded through Aktiv, she will not put homework grades into canvas until end of semester. Entire grade is based on exams. 3 exams and a final about 2 weeks apart, no time to study. Mandatory attendance checks every class.

Slowest professor I have ever had at grading exams. Tough weekly homework with barely any time to complete them. Four exams AND a final. Entire class grade is exams. I would not recommend taking her class. She takes FOREVER to grade and our class didn't know where they were standing until over 2 weeks past Q-drop. Ochem is hard enough but please take another prof if possible. Don't even know standing well enough rn to know what to get on the final to pass. Homework is also incredibly long.

This class was so ridiculously unorganized, it was unreal. On top of taking WAY too long to hand back grades, she communicates poorly (my section didn't receive a super important email when everyone else did, and people who emailed her about the error got some pretty unprofessional replies), and the homework is 60+ problems every week. Though it is clear that Dr. Mullen cares about her students, her class is a hot mess. Tests take weeks to come back. Homework was long and not useful. She had to cancel her last class and kept postponing sending the recorded lecture to students. She does curve well, but the curves wouldn't be so necessary if the class was better organized.

Organic chemistry is a ridiculously hard class. Dr. Mullen offers extra credit (go to class) and curves. The grade cut off for an A this semester was 84-85. She does actually take FOREVER to grade and had to cancel her last class. But, she is a great professor who cares. My advice? Go to class, read the textbook, and practice.

Dr. Mullen is a good lecturer and very accessible for help outside class. I enjoyed her jokes and liked her slides as they were very detailed. The homework through Aktiv was helpful, but NOT enough to learn the material. You HAVE to study on your own or you will not do well. Her biggest downfall is how long it takes to grade (2-3+ weeks each exam)

She sends out very helpful study material and practice exams that give a lot of insight as to what the actual exam is going to be like. The class was hard, but it's organic chemistry. Took AGES to return grades but all exams still free-response. Mandatory attendance taken on Aktiv. LONG hw. Completely forgot to email one of her sections but assured us she "NEVER" did anything wrong before even checking if she did. Put off everything. Dr. Mullen is a caring professor, the class is doable. But, the disorganization is too much to overlook. She made many mistakes including showing up late to every exam, being WEEKS behind in grading, not releasing a lecture until the night before the final, etc. You will teach yourself, the material she releases/class will not help. Be cautious.

With Dr. Mullen there is very good and very bad. She's an amazing lecturer and very helpful during office hours, but her class is very disorganized (especially around finals week) and she takes absolutely forever to grade. Professor is very sweet! If you have to take Ochem 2, I wouldn't recommend taking her; she didn't cover chapters 17 and 18 in their entirety to prepare students fro OCHEM 2. She is extremely helpful during office hours, but she takes forever to return grades. Read other reviews they are pretty accurate!

Dr. Mullen was an all-around great professor. Yes, the claims are 100% accurate that she takes centuries to grade each exam, but that's her only flaw. She curves a lot throughout the semester. She dropped our lowest test grade. She is a boss in office hours. And make sure to ask ?s on test day! She is also approachable and friendly. 9/10!

Material is demanding. Worsened by professor disorganization and slow grade return time. Why? Complacency. A professor who does not respect time. Both tardiness in appearance and grade return. The reason I gave Dr. Mullen a low rating is because she takes weeks upon weeks to give back exam scores. The class just is not very organized. The homework is very tedious and difficult and she doesn't let you see the correct answer after you get it wrong, so it is hard to see where you missed. Then you don't know how to approach the next problem.

She is so sweet, we've been able to retake exams that we did not do well on which is a lot more generous than other orgo professors. She takes 2-3 weeks to grade exams which is not awesome, but you can tell she cares about us passing. Everyone is too hard on her as she has to grade virtually everything by herself and by hand, so just be mindful!!!

Dr Mullen is a FANTASTIC lecturer however the rest of the flaws are too big to ignore. Test scores will never go up when she states they will and all other HW grades will not get posted until the end of the semester. Tests often have many mistakes that she will interrupt to fix and practice exam dont get posted until a couple days before the test

Her lectures are helpful so definitely go to class and she is easy to reach outside of class during office hours. I recommend going to office hours to get extra help with the homework and to know what to expect for the exam. My only complaints are that she takes FOREVER to grade tests and homework and the way she ask questions on exams is weird.

It is currently 2 pm the day before our exam and she has not posted the practice exam. She told us she would post it late Friday night or early Saturday morning. It is Sunday afternoon. Also, because she did not get though the material on time, the 2 hardest chapters are on the same exam, whereas the other classes had them on two different exams.

I didn't think she was bad! She gave great lectures and curved generously, much more than the other profs would. This definitely helped! The only problem was that she took forever to grade everything. Other than that, I though her exams were fair and she was always accessible and helpful! Def made sure we that we knew what we needed for exams.

Most of the reviews are accurate. She curves a lot but it's January and we still do not have any of our assignment grades, homework grades, OR the final exam grades. I think it's safe to say she won't be putting any grades in. She only graded exam 1-4... I would take another professor if you can.

Dr Mullen's only flaw is that she takes a few weeks to grade exams. Nearly all the other assignments are participation. Lectures are well-taught and understandable, she's very caring and wants to help, and her problem sets are great study materials for her exams (identical formatting). As a student, I felt respected and included in every lecture.

Cannot give her enough praise, she is the most understanding professor I've had. She doesn't test over topics she hasn't taught, and lectures are very helpful. Homework isn't overbearing and the problems sets are very relevant. She is a slow grader though.

Dr. Mullens was a good prof in my opinion, she was caring and very lenient when it comes to grades. I am only taking off a few stars because she is a bit scatter brain and takes forever to grade but she does her best and I appreciate her a lot.

Speeds through lectures so it is almost impossible to take notes. Gets shocked when she does a problem correctly and has to go through most of them again because she messed up the first time. Takes forever to grade and is unorganized. So muchh homework on gradescope and Aktiv. Locks grades so you don't know what you have. Hard exams but curves.

She is super unorganized and takes forever to grade. If you are trying to be prepared for the MCAT, I would not take this professor because we did not get through all of the material. She does curve the tests significantly but it is because they are quite difficult. I would recommend taking another professor.

Dr. Mullen is okay. She does care about her students lives, but she is not nice enough to help pull your grade up. She is vague about what is going to be on the exams. We have her on a lecture recording telling us she would NOT put something on the upcoming exam. That was the first question of the exam. She makes mistakes in lectures.

Good Professor. OChem is hard in general though. I would recommend taking her because she is very open to students asking questions and wants to help students understand anything they may not totally get.

OCHEM is a hard class, but Mullen teaches it well. I don't understand the bad ratings. Returns exams in ~2 weeks, but provides good feedback. She is helpful, and is pretty much always available to help students, and truly wants her students to succeed! Offers helpful zoom exam reviews the night before exams, and curves a lot.

Amazing professor for Ochem 1. As an engineering major, her Ochem class was one of the easiest I had this semester. Gives HW but they help with studying for exams. Lab sucks. Loved going to her office hours, she genuinely helps you and wants you to succeed. Only critique is that she is a very slow grader. Don't expect exams back within 2 weeks.

Amazing professor who made Ochem 1 easy for me. Gives lots of HW but they help with studying for exams. Lab sucks, but she has no control over it. Gives extra credit, so take advantage of that. Go to office hours, she genuinely helps you and wants you to succeed. Only critique is that she is a slow grader. Don't expect exams back within 2-3 weeks.

Professor Mullen's lectures are helpful, but she takes a while to grade assignments. The exams are challenging, but she curves generously. Definitely attend office hours and use unstuckstudy for study prep - it was a game-changer for me.

Mullen is actually a great lecturer, her exams always include what she teaches and never what she doesn't get to. The only complaint is that she falls behind a lot (but again she only tests what she covers) and that she's an EXTREMELY slow grader. Other than that her exams are straight forward and pretty on point with her practice.

Dr. Mullen clearly cares for her students and that is reflected in how she teaches her class. She puts her students first and often would bring snacks to class for everyone to enjoy. There was never a boring class with her!

Dr. Mullen is here for you and will certainly help you achieve the grade you are willing to put effort for. She is extremely helpful in office hours with any homework, review or test questions. Her lectures are interesting (to me at least) and makes an effort simplify the material. Only downside is don't expect your exam graded for a while :).

Mullens is overall a very good professor. She cares about students and their grades and is willing to do what she can in and out of class to help students with homework, peqs, or any questions. I will say HOWEVER she is the SLOWEST grader ever. It takes about 4-5 weeks to get your exam grade back. Especially if your version B.

Dr Mullen performed very poorly; she never graded any homework assignments until the last week of November. Tests were not graded until at least a month after the exam. She never responded to my emails, and she would make a new excuse every day as to why she would always be behind on grading. She would blame us a lot for her own mistakes.

Dr. Mullen would be the greatest OChem prof at TAMU if she didn't take longer than dropshipping a package from China to respond to emails, put in test grades, and post practice materials. Her tests are very straightforward and her lectures (when they start on time) are great. However, do be advised of her flaws, such as being well behind on grades.

The great and fearless leader that is Christine Mullen has only steered me wrong. I find myself in the position of having my grade gone down from an A- to a B- overnight due to the fact her exams are graded so slowly. Do not expect to get your grades before the q-drop deadline. If you can take someone else, please do.

Dr Mullen is a great professor that gives lots of homework, but it prepares you very well for exams. Definitely not an easy class but she gives students everything they need to succeed in her class, and is great about answering questions in office hours and really wants her students to learn/retain. Only con is that she is an incredibly slow grader

Lots of pros and cons. Extra credit, explains concepts well, generous grade cutoffs, and plenty of practice exam questions. An A is 100% doable. On the other hand, she's a bit disorganized and takes FOREVER to grade. It never bothered me that much, but it can be frustrating not knowing your grade. Attendance is also mandatory and for a grade.

I want to start off by saying she is in no means awful, just mildly infuriating. She is seemingly nice, has some passion during her lectures but it's difficult to keep up. It always felt like we were behind based on how much she would cram into each 50 min lecture. She also was super bad at responding to emails and getting grades in, unfortunately.

Dr. Mullen is a great lecturer and teaches much slower than many other profs in an effort to help her students actually learn the material (we were 2 chapters behind by the end of the semester). She is an incredibly slow grader, but she did start grading faster by the end of the semester. Overall a good prof to take to learn the material well.

Nice lady, very knowledgeable, but VERY disorganized. Did not grade any homework until mid-November. Takes unreasonably long to grade tests. Extra credit helps, and she curves most of her tests pretty well. However, I was not impressed by her class whatsoever. I would take someone else if possible.

Mullen would be a decent professor if it wasn't for her grading at a snail's pace and her lack of organization. On average she takes a month to grade exams, and by the end of the semester, we were 2 chapters behind all the other ochem classes. However, she curves her final grades a good amount, and provides a few extra credit opportunities.

4 exams, final exam, homework per chapter, practice questions per chapter, attendance quizzes. Good at teaching, willing to meet with students, cares about her students. We did not finish the course. For some students, nothing was graded until after the final. Disorganized, due dates were off, class was hard to plan for. Gives curves per exam.

Honestly the only issue I had with Dr. Mullen was with her grading pace. Although it took a while for her to grade, she tried her best to get things out as soon as she could. She has a lot of students and only a few graders. She is a human like everyone else. Tries to prepare you for the exams well and is caring and accessible outside of class.

Dr. Mullen is truly so passionate about organic chemistry. I am not very good at ochem, but Mullen made the class very bearable! She is very slow at grading, but gives exam retakes, extra credit, and good reviews that are extremely similar to the exams.

The only real problem with Dr. Mullen is she can't grade on time and it's frustrating. She was an OK professor, clearly knows what she is talking about. She offered lots of practice problems and plenty of assignments to pad out grades. Lectures are very interactive, attendance is mandatory. Passing is very doable. I just suck at exams so I got a C.

Dr. Mullen genuinely cares about her students and provides every opportunity for success (office hours, extra credit, curving). She's also a great lecturer and has good notes, but she is slow to respond and grade (we usually got test grades back around the time of the next test). I'd highly recommend if you don't mind those things.

I go to office hours and I email her regularly. There was a question on the test that she made out of thin air. The test was hard and maybe 3 people finished before the timer went off. She is not very good at teaching because she always contradicts herself. I think if you personally get a C in a class you should NOT be allowed to teach it.

For me, she was a good lecturer and was clear about what would be on the exams and gave plenty of extra credit. However, she was extremely slow to grade exams (she's very aware of that) and falls behind schedule easily. She did not finish teaching all the material at the end of the year and I had to teach myself a whole chapter for ochem 2.

Super nice person and gives a lot of grace for hw and some extra credit. She is good lecturer but her exams are hard and but gets pretty behind on posting things. She makes the exams very difficult and creates some questions out of thin air. She does drop the A line on her exams According to the avg and lets you retake the first or second exam.

She does a good job of explaining content and teaching course material, but does not put any grades into canvas/ takes ages to grade exams. Exams have tricky questions but she does curve. She hosts many in person/zoom office hours which are helpful if you want to score well. Overall she is an okay professor!

Took her for OCHEM 1 and 2. Although she takes FOREVER to grade, she is so kind and is always accessible outside of class. She teaches great in lecture, but is just slower so you are forced to cram for exams. Curves like crazy on exams and offers so much extra credit that it's almost impossible to fail. Very unorganized but overall very caring!

Don't take this professor! Her lectures are not engaging and one class she said she taught everything wrong. The exams are vague and always had mistakes on it making it more confusing. SLOWEST GRADER! Do not recommend for your sanity. Nice lady though.

Dr. Mullen is one of the best professors I've ever had, and an even better human being. She is unbelievably caring and devoted to helping her students. She has office hours almost every day! Her jokes are hilarious and keep the class lighthearted. She offers extra credit and she curves the exams. I miss going to Ochem-never thought I'd say that! :)

She did a good job. I'm not fantastic at ochem, but I got As in both 227 and 228 with her. Very accessible for office hours and helpful. Be warned her tests are all short answer/write in, no multiple choice. Still they aren't horribly difficult, and she curves heavily. Lots of homework, makes sure you know your stuff. I would take again.

Dr. Mullen is the perfect professor for organic chemistry. She is engaging and clear; her homework was very useful in preparing students for exams, which were both curved and appropriately challenging without being antagonistic. It broke my heart that I wasn't able to take her for a second semester.
