Awesome professor, easy research opportunities, well-taught classes. Tough, but if you do the work, you will succeed.

She helped so much my 1st qtr at DPU. She makes you work hard, but she is helpful when you are lost!!
makes things clear and understandable, I learned a lot from her, also very nice and approachable ps. she will make you work!
I've had her for 3 different courses, and she is the best professor I've ever had. Fun, approachable, and you learn the stuff. Do the work, and an A is very attainable.
the best teacher i've ever had, she is awesome and very helpful
She was an enthusiastic prof which was good...expected a lot out of us freshmen since she is use to teaching upperclassmen, but overall good..definately use her office hours!
hot as hell
USES T.A. TO GRADE, DOES NOT WANT TO HELP OR LOOK OVER TA'S GRADING. WENT THROUGH MATERIAL TOO QUICKLY, VERY HIGH AMOUNTS OF READING. DO NOT RECOMMEND.
Took her for a grad class. If you disagree with the research, watch out. She thinks she's the smartest person in the world, and misquotes and misattributes research. Her class was always edgy because she acts like the pope.
It was hard to know what she expected. The class was fun with the field trips. Projects were difficult. She is enthusiastic and like participation.
I liked her a lot and thought her teaching styles were really good. She's also very approachable.
she used to assign homework before she lectured on the topic. That made the class difficult to follow.
Helpful yet doesn't like others criticism about methods and conclusions drawn by authors of articles we read. She had her favorite students and ignored her non-favs opinions. While does challange her students, I don't think she herself likes to be challanged intellectually about her field.
Reyna is a Nazi. She assigned a paper the 1st week of class and gave an average of an F. She told us that we all have the tools to do well-so it must be us. Work load is heavy and she is not a fan of questions. Profs ought to be graded for teaching not just research!! I'd give her an F!
Very rude and assigns papers left and right but doesn't even grade them, she has her TA do it. Not willing to compromise and strips this class of any enjoyment that it could have. If you are interested in Psychology and want to stay interested in psychology avoid her at all costs.
Despicable teaching methods. Unfair grading. Completely disinterested in student's learning. You are left alone to understand the course work. Save yourself... It is too late for me.
She uses her TAs to grade everything and even when one graded some papers wrong, she didn't do it herself. this class is entirely memorization. she's nice and all, but she doesn't seem too interested in her students.
Ehh...ok. The lectures were pretty dry and basically the vocab words from the reading. She was pretty willing to answer questions during lectures, but seemed too busy to meet outside of class. Lots of assignments, but an A is definitely attainable.
bad teacher! classes were spent reading lectures she posted days prior... BORRING! Her TA grades everything like a psycho and reyna never even catches things until you bring them to her attention. you have quizes every week and a few short papers. this is an interesting class but dont take her!!
GREAT teacher and it was extremely easy to get an A, if you just go to class. Also, she is easy to talk to and gives extra credit. She is awsome.
she posts her notes online, is helpful in office hours/after class. rarely lets night class out early. quizzes + reading + assignments every week.
Her TAs grade EVERYTHING. Lectures consist of an outline of vocabulary words from the chapter. All notes are posted online and class is essentially a waste of time if you read the text. Awful at responding to emails, and very rude. Extremely late with posting final grades. Do not take her!
She's an OK teacher but is very scattered and a tough grader.
Very unclear. Very general with assignment and then grades hard. Really bad teaching methods. Acts dumb and flakey, but obviously has some brains that only come out when grading papers.
Save yourself. Never take any class where she could possibly be the teacher! She may appear nice, but you're opinion will change after you sit through the boring classes, get tons of homework, and here her stupid comments and smart ass remarks to students.
I agree with all the other ratings. She thinks it is cool to act dumb or like a airhead or something. I don't understand it. She seems too busy for students and not interested in being a professor. She needs to do her job which is grade students work and should not have TAs do it. I hate instructors that have TAs do their job.
I really enjoyed being in her class. She does everything she can to help students get good grades. She is incredibly understanding and really passionate about what she talks about. She likes a lot of detail but seems like a pretty easy grader. I recommend taking her
I take her for every class that I can.She provides a lot of chances for points, extra credit, online quizzes, and assignments. As long as you do them they will be helpful.Don't expect a blow off class, but its more than realistic to achieve a good grade. She is fair, helpful, and enjoys what she does.Very energetic and understands we have a lot going on
Dr. Reyna is so much fun. She's so nice and teaching a confusing and hard subject with amazing clarity. She's always willing to help and if you go to class you will be fine.
She was always busy and didn't take time for students at all, moreover disorganized person. Her test was extremely hard. Suck!
her lectures were alright but sometimes she went through them fast. her assignments were not very difficult but sometimes disorganized and unclear. she had online quizes every week. she is a little late to give back graded assignments. overall though she is ok.
This lady comes off as pleasant and bubbly and turns out to be the most hardcore pain in the ass. She's an impossible grader, never responds to emails, not helpful or understanding. If I had any idea how awful she is, I would've waited to take 242. I would never take her for any class again!
sooooo disorganized. has you do a million things and you never know when they are due!!! nice lady but the most disorganized class ever...
Reyna is very willing to help anyone out but you have to go to her office hours. She does not respond to emails very well so talk to her after class. She makes the subject more difficult than it needs to be. Despite all of this, you will learn in her class.
k i admit the class is hard, online quizes, hw, class assignment, exams, paper, attendence and extra credit...but i still like her..go to the TA if she is busy because they grade most of the assignments and papers..psy major need to take this class so i recommend her and just pay attentiona and do what need to be done..
Ok the class itself sucks in general, however unless you want to live a quarter in agony and regret sure take her class...she is impossible to find or get a hold of outside class, and she does not explain****! My advice to you is save yourself and stay far far away! But that is just my opinion
Probably the worst teacher I've ever had, and if she's not, she's certainly my least favorite. Very irritating manneurisims. Extremely lazy, and not very helpful. Tons of reading and lots of assignments, weekly quizzes, and the only class I've ever had a final paper and a final exam on the same day.
I really liked her... yeah you may get irritated by her over the top personality, but she's a self-proclaimed geek to science and her enthusiasm shows through. Go talk to her if you need ANY kind of class help and she will deliver... but maybe I just had a good experience. You'll work hard and I don't know how I only got a B+, but she's not bad.
She is a very knowledgable professor, but she is not clear in what she expects from students. Her grading system is wacky and she isn't very fair when grading quizzes and papers. Her class is actually easy, but she goes out of her way to make is seem hard.
smart but full of it sometimes! She criticizes everyones writing skills on their papers but doesn't even grade them herself! She has her TA's grade everything for her bc she is too lazy. She never respond to my email about a quiz that was graded 4/10 because of a computer error. She doesn't review for her tests and then tells says they r so har
I had her for Soc PSY. You have to go to class, bc her online quizzes are mostly from lectures, and she will also throw in questions in the exams that she went over in class. She gives really good examples, and can make you understand the material. I worked hard, never missed a class, and got an A.
Very nice professor, though if you do the assigned readings lectures seem redundant. Not a psych major, but still managed to get a B+ on my first psych course (a 300 level!), so not hard. Just do the work and listen to lectures--test q's will seem easy. Weekly quizes are a must and are kind of challenging, but tough essay grader. Good overall.
I had this professor for Soc.Psy and Research Methods 2 and found her extremely happy-go-lucky, helpful, and interesting. She is very knowledgeable on the subjects and is extremely helpful for anyone interested in grad school. she gave tips to our class every friday about applications/GRE. 1 of the better professors in the psychology department.
wonderful professor! So sweet, funny, and smart! she explains the material very well which is some of the most interesting stuff youll ever learn. she even gives helpful tips to prepare for the tests, which arent that bad. it was a joy going to her class at 830 in the morning! offers movie watching extra credit too! take her
she is very helpful
Are these reviews serious? What a terrible professor. She forces you to go to class with attendance points, then posts all of her lectures online. I could have taught myself the material in half the time. She milks every minute of class every day and goes out of her way to make the class as complicated as possible.
DO NOT TAKE HER! You can't get a hold of her if you need help. She doesn't grade anything herself. She switches online quiz times. She acts like just because she has a smiley personality that makes her a fun teacher. It doesn't it just makes her annoying.
She is the nicest professor I have ever had. She has extensive experience in the field and despite her busy schedule will go out of her way to help you. After ten years of teaching she has learned to adjust her teaching pace to fit the students' needs. I highly recommend her.
She is my favorite professor at DePaul. I think she is truly gifted in teaching. She does a lot of research, but she goes out of her way to be available to her students.
DO NOT TAKE HER EXPLORE CLASS!! She gives ridiculously time-involved assingments with unclear directions and has a vague grading system where she takes off points for things unrelated to the topic. I had an A in the class but it was still painful like no other. TAKE SOMETHING ELSE! Lots of people failed...
U will never get ur tests or papers back bc she makes up excuses as to why she hasnt finished grading them. Attendance is worth 5-10 points each class, depending her mood. Every week u must take an online test, but many times were unable to access the test bc she set the due date as the day before. she got very angry when students sent emails.
Easy/fun class. The prof went through lectures with so much enthusiasm & clarity. To the one poster, you must've really been turning in crap. I mean, the 3 assignments were super easy and the lowest was dropped. Weekly quizzes served to reinforce readings/notes. 3 tests, lowest dropped too. Dr. Reyna is one of the greatest prof.s I've had. Gracias!
Class is almost always interesting and engaging, she does activities to demonstrate theories to you. The tests can be difficult, you have to really KNOW the material for the multiple choice, but she drops your lowest test score. The papers you write are short and if you are specific you will get an A. Great professor!
3 papers (top 2 count-10 pts each); weekly timed online quizzes (10 pts) 3 exams (top 2 count -100 pts each); Final Paper (100 pts on a current news event that can be analyzed using social psychology) The class was easy she posts all the assignments on blackboard the first day (do them w/e);will give you feedback on papers and let you do re-writes
She is an efficient professor. Makes every story and class matter and stick in your brain! Weekly online quizes, drops lowest of 3 exam scores, 2 papers and EXTRA CREDIT offered! Knows her stuff! Take her if you can! My fav. professor!
I loved Dr. Reyna and have come to love her more after taking a few other professors' psych. classes. She is very engaging, she uses lots of materials to help you learn, and is very nice about class discussions to supplement learning. I highly recommend taking her class!
Dr. Reyna is extremely knowledgeable and respected in her field. She also knows exactly what it takes to be successful in her class as her syllabus and class structure is organized, providing students with plenty of tools and information to grasp and remember the theories and concepts in Social Psych. Highly recommend her!
She doesn't respond to emails quickly at all. Postponed a test TWICE because she didn't explain the material well at all. She's alright, but I suggest going to the stats tutors when you need help.
Dr. Reyna is really nice and very clear. The class itself is just a pretty boring powerpoint lecture class. Nothing challenging or new really. Make sure that you attend class and participate in activities.
Professor Reyna is the best professor ever! She is extremely sweet and always there for you if you need help catching up or need to talk to her during office hours. She is extremely funny and is always willing to be available to her students. Attendance is mandatory and unfortunately will significantly affect your grade if you do not attend class.
She is a really nice person but she lectures straight off the powerpoint so class feels pointless to go to. She isn't organized, our d2l page had due dates and posts from the previous quarter so it was super confusing. She doesn't explain the papers or put up instructions on the d2l page so you have to ask around for everything or ask her directly.
I had her for Harry Potter and the Hero's Journey and it was so amazing. Hands down one of my favorite classes at DePaul. She is great, funny, and loves Harry Potter. The class was discussion driven so be prepared to talk and you have to do all the readings, but overall wonderful teacher.
she clearly understands the material but does a poor job at teaching it. Her d2l had due dates from a year ago and her final paper she's extremely picky so topics are limited when looking for sources.
Professor Reyna is absolutely the best! In her Harry Potter class, classes are conversation based and there are weekly reflection papers. Nothing about the class is difficult, though. Show up, participate, and write your papers and you'll get an A.
I enjoyed her class. She was tough but was fair.
I was under the impression the workload would be regular and consistent to practice the material like she says on the first day. Instead, we have in class assignments and work that is not easy to finish in the 7 minutes she gives to complete it. Sometimes it turns into more homework. We don't go over any assignments so the answer keys are useless
Her Harry Potter class was by far the best course I've taken at Depaul. It is a seminar-based class so you will need to participate. She tends to favor discussion that she agrees with/will guide you into saying what she wants to hear. Textbook is cheap on Amazon and is honestly a fun read. Make sure to do the readings and the papers will go smooth.
She explains the material clearly, and she adjusted the assignments well during our online class due to COVID. She works through a lot of stats on the board, so if you follow along and copy down the steps, you'll definitely pass! She's always willing to re-explain anything, so if you're confused, don't be afraid to ask her for help !
Dr. Reyna was wonderful. Yes, this class is labor intensive. Prepare for a lot of homework and in-class activities in addition to tests. However, she is so understanding, compassionate and always there to help! She gives you all the tools you need to succeed + offers lots of extra credit opportunities. Highly recommend taking her stats class!
I took her Harry Potter a Hero's Journey class and it was a bit hard to keep up with the papers. (Winter 2021) While the criteria is there, it is a bit vague. The textbook is a cheap book $15. There is a group project based on your House and an individual paper but previous class discussions make it easy to do at the end. Super fun!
Prof Reyes is a very passionate teacher who gets her students prepared and is willing to always help. There is no in-person tests but she does give a lot of hw and expects us to get A's on all our class assignments (especially since we can literally work together!) At times she goes very quick in her lectures but she always post the slides.
Dr. Reyna is very dedicated to the understanding of statistics. This class was relatively easy, she presented all necessary information, and provided lots of practice in class. She is a nice professor, and I recommend her for PSY 240
Lots of homework, but mostly small assignments that honestly help maintain a good grade. Attendance is graded, but that also helps with maintaining a good grade. as long as you show up and TRY, she promised you wouldn't get lower than a C+ or B- (I can't remember what she said, something like that)
I absolutely loved this professor! She made it extremely easy to pass the class, and would cater to everyone questions. Very interactive class and very easy to follow along. She's very energetic, so if you're not a morning person, take her class in the afternoon.
She is such a sweet individual and also quite funny. She made lectures more interactive which was helpful, and there is groupwork so prepare to collaborate with your peers (it means less stress when it comes to assignments). Moreover, I enjoyed taking the course!
If you show up for class, and actually pay attention you will do well. There is a lot of collaboration in this class which is really nice and you never feel alone while completing an assignment. Homework isn't hard if you pay attention in class. There were a few topics that she wasn't knowledgeable on which was funny but I would take her again
I can't recommend her enough! The class is really lighthearted and fun, and if you go to every class and pay attention, you can totally do well. There is a lot of work, but she is an easy grader so if you just try to do it you'll get a good grade, and she encourages you to do it with friends.
I took LSP 112- the Harry Potter and the hero's journey class. Professor Reyna was kind of passive-aggressive sometimes but she is otherwise nice. It's an interesting class but it's kind of hard. The class was lecture/discussion based. There is a weekly essay and a group project. I sort of enjoyed it and appreciate what I learned.
I loved this professor so much! She's extremely passionate about what she teaches and that really made this class so insightful. Genuinely sweet, caring, and just expects the best from you. One of the best professors I've ever had here at DePaul. I would do anything to take her again.
Harry Potter class was relatively enjoyable but had its moments of stress though. Not a whole lot of work, one paper due every week. Attendance is non-negotiable though, and I unfortunately got a B only because of that even though it was out of my control. Don't take if you're going to miss class.
Her D2L is super organized and easy to navigate which is helpful for an online course. Her class for the most part consisted of weekly chapters with a quiz once a week. There were a few papers and discussion posts but never anything too overwhelming. She provides amazing examples in her lecture videos which help with memorizing the material.
a queen. such a sweet person. attendance is mandatory though and you will lose points if you don't show up. but shes such an amazing professor.
Christine was amazing! She is an easy grader and gives tons of extra credit opportunities. I took her for PSY 347 and I definitely recommend! Not difficult at all, super manageable with my other classes!
Dr. Reyna is an amazing professor! After failing statistics previously, I retook it with her and earned an A. She explains concepts clearly, walks students through problems, and ensures that you don't leave class feeling lost. The in-class assignments help reinforce learning, making participation key to success.
weekly papers, min 600-ish words every week due before sunday noon. final essay is 10-15 pages long which is far too much and isnt very clear on her topic at all. final project too that takes time out of your life. the textbook is interesting to some degree but is incredibly hard to understand since its so vague and compact. not a very fun class
Super easy especially since it's an async class. I didn't read any of the text or watch lectures and I still got a 95%. Mostly just felt like busy work with a few super easy papers.
Dr. Reyna is awesome! As long as you participate, engage with classmates during group work, and literally just show up to class you'll do fine. The textbook for PSY240 is not needed.
