This woman is the worst. You might as well commit suicide than take her class, it's definitely easier to do that. She goes quick through everything and she doesn't go back that often for anything. If your advisor advised you to take her they're setting you up for a trip to H*LL.
She is probably the worst professor on campus. If you know Excell, Access, and powerpoint you might have a chance but otherwise avoid this professor!
Truly Painful. She goes through excel and access way too fast and you only get half the class to take her tests. If you have to take this class I would suggest taking a different teacher.
Ask her if you can use your text books on exams! We were allowed all semester - but she forgot to tell us! Her tests are hard, and the books really aren't that much help but if you do her practice tests you'll be alright... She really tries to help but seems a little frazzled.
This is the most horrible teacher ever. She has no consideration of a person's learning pace. She has two paces "fast" and "too fast". She wizzes through everything and expects you to do it as fast as she does. Take another prof.
I have never had a worse teachers in my life, including college and high school. Her tests are nearly impossible. Reading the book is worthless, taking her notes does not help. I believe she deserves to be fired.
Dr. Rhoads is a wonderful teacher who was very helpful to me. She really cared about my progress and took a lot of time to explain everything clearly. She is not easy, and you have to come to class and pay attention - but you will really learn. I can't believe how much I'm using what I learned.
Knows the applications, can be very helpfull
Great job hope you come back and teach another class, so you can hire me after you teach me all you know, lol Good luck in your career
Good teacher - very clear, very helpful. Interesting lectures
Really interested in her students. Willing to spend extra time if you ask. But do the homework first - she gets mad if you ask her to help you the day before a test and you haven't done any of the homework.
Don't take her if you are looking for an easy A! She's hard, and expects you to do a lot of work. But she's very helpful if you ask, and will give you a good grade if you do all the homework assignments and show up for class. Lots of extra credit stuff.
Good teacher. A little ditzy sometimes - what's with those name tags? But really teaches you a lot and is never boring.
HARD!!! do not take her for this class.....test are near impossible.....class average for one test was a 20% DO NOT TAKE HER!!
Teacher is very cooperative and willing to explain. Tests are somewhat hard, especially Excell. Alot of homework, but it also teaches and helps you study. Take the course if you have some background in Microsoft Office, if not be prepared to struggle.
HARD TESTS......A TON OF HW....DONT TAKE HER
Sometimes very unclear with what she is trying to teach. The first section of the class is a complete waste of time, but trust me, it gets better. The tests are difficult, but she tries to help you and she curves them as much as possible. If you do the homework and the practice tests, you should get an A
Very Knowledgeable. Does an effective job at presenting information and shows concern for her students.
Totally Unclear.....Hours of Homework Every Night, If You're Lost The First Week Of Class.....Get Out!
if you don't have to take this class, don't. Dr. Rhoads does not help you and talks way too fast for you to get anything down on paper. too much homework too. homework usually takes about 2 to 3 hours.
If you show that you are serious and WANT help, Dr. Rhoads will help you. She is very knowledgable. Just do the homework, go to class, take the practice exams and one will be fine. Take the class seriously, just like college is suppose to be. If you don't like to do work, then don't take her. If you want hands on learning for practicality, take her
Great teacher. I think she is one of the best. She gives too much homework, though, and talks too fast.
Dr. Rhoads is a good professor. If you need help, she will help you. This is not an easy class, but if you show up to class and do the h/w...you should be fine. Take her, she IS the best BUS171 professor here.
She's really good. She really helps you. I couldn't figure out one of the assignments, and I went to her office and she walked me through the whole thing.
Take this class only if you really want to learn how to use computers. It's a hard class, but if you get through it, you will really know how to use the stuff. You have to pay attention in class and do the homework.
Excellent teacher if you like the subject. very knowledgeable in technology. Interesting course - covers a lot of practical information that will be useful if you ever work in an office. Easy if you do the work. Tests are very hard if you aren't in class, but she gives practice tests - very clear on what's expected.
I thought the class was really easy. Clear instruction - easy tests.
I really enjoyed this class. It's a little hard in the beginning, but once you get the right idea, it moves along pretty well. I got an A, though she said that almost half the class fails or drops. (Of course, I heard that more than half the class fails in all the business courses here.)
Very easy teacher. It helps to already know the computer basics.
Great teacher! covers the material fast so you cannot miss a single class. You must have some experience with computers or you will do poorly. Many of the students in my class were comp illiterate and just complicated the class with annoying questions on stupid stuff. Tests are kind of hard but she gives you a practice test and questions come f/ it
Very difficult to understand. Moves through the material extremely fast and really hard to keep up unless you have a great understanding of the material before you take the class. She is also very demanding with a lot of homework and it is near impossible to miss a class
A bit OCD about procedures & policies. You can't miss class--takes attendance. Moves very fast over material in class so you have to pay attention. However, she did give out review sheets to help study for tests.
Very nice lady. Kinda strange sometimes...but she's cool. Class is hard sometimes! If you do all the homework, show up for class, and study for the tests, you should easily get a C
Best teacher ever!
I don't understand why Dr. Rhoads has so many students fail out of her class. She's a wonderful teacher and I feel tests are relatively easy. It helps to have a clue about computers, but I really feel this generation should anyway. She's also very friendly and fair. Ignore negative ratings, students are just being lazy!
Unreasonable would be an understatement for this woman. She is rude and treats students like they are idiots. Class in incredibly boring and she is ridiculously demanding! Do not take her!!!!
She's a little odd but super easy! Just go to class, do the homework-which is not hard at all!-, and the practice tests. She lets you have a cheat sheets and lets you open homework files for tests. There's no reason to get anything less than a B.
She's very rude and when someone asks for help she treats them like they're stupid. Doesn't slow down when asked, but her sarcasm steps up a notch. Horrible. Horrible.
CJ Rhoads...she is businesslike, but can be un-dearly and bureaucratic. She is very hard and demanding; moves very fast too. Recommended that you know at least substantial amounts of materials before signing up for her class. Treats BUS 310 students like teens and gets me stressed out. Maybe she should just pursue her consulting business instead!!
This class is intense! Very detailed, but easy. She has weekend workshops for extra help. Just do the HW and Class work she lets you use them for the exams. Come to class, if your confused ask her. If you follow this you should get a C.
This woman is awful. She makes her students use name tents, and you get called out if you don't have yours in front of you at the start of class. We are college students, not pre-schoolers. This class was easy, but the only reason people dropped or failed was because she is an impossible woman to deal with. Know your stuff prior to this class.
Great teacher! She was in a car accident and can't remember faces, so she makes you use a name tent, but she's really nice and tries hard. Treats everyone with respect, but has very high expectations. You must to the homework and show up every day. You will learn a lot, and it's easy if you keep up.
I don't kno what ppl are talkin bout saying its easy, its not! you have to do all the hw and every single night & it may take up to an hr to 3 a night no lie. when it 1st started she was sayn' ppl spend 10hrs a week and i didn't believe them but u really do! this class is hard w/her but she knows what shes talkin about very well.
Rhoads is a good teacher. She knows what she is talking about and the hw and practice exams are just like the tests. You must go everyday in order to do well in this class. This class would be hard no matter who taught it. She makes it as easy as possible.
This woman is crazy, i joined the class a week late because i dropped a class and added her business class. Worst decision i ever made, she did not give me the points i missed just gave me zero's which brought my grade down a a lot. Has quizzes all the time, overloaded with homework. NEVER TAKE HER.
She was a great teacher. Just do the homework, take the quizzes, and you'll get a good grade. If you don't understand something, speak up in class. Shes very willing to help.
Very helpful, very nice. Easy A as long as you do the homework and go to class. Homework is usually pretty easy. Test questions are same as the practice exams.
Stickler is the best word to describe Dr. Rhoads. Shes overly critical, egotistical (She wrote the textbook), demanding, and firmly believes that her class is the only one that matters. Homework is time consuming, pointless, yet mandatory and all but impossible to complete on-time if you live off campus like I did. Don't take her class! Run Away!
Excellent teacher - the best there is for this topic. You must do the work - but she teaches lots of real-world lessons that will be extremely useful. I use them in my part time job now!
It was a tough class, but Dr. Rhoads tried to make it easy and was very helpful.
Fabulous professor. She really takes the time to explain. I wish I'd been there for every class, though. It's hard to catch up if you miss class.
Sometimes i feel that she is teaching herself too. She goes way to fast during class and goes on a lot of tangents. There is a lot of homework each week. Don't miss her class or else you will lose credit. Before taking a test, she forces us to meditate, thus losing 10 min of taking a test, and if you are not done at the end of the class, she yells.
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. Prof wrote the book and uses it. She doesn't teach in class. You learn from the book and review various assignments in class. Tests are needlessly complicated. Homework literally every day. Group project that is essentially running a business due at unspecified time, mentioned only once. Worth a lot. Take at your own risk.
Great prof. Knows her stuff. Teaches topics that are really useful in real life, but she has high expectations. Expect to work. But an easy "A" if you are willing to do it.
Very hard, but she cares. Willing to work with you.
I love her! She is an awesome professor. Makes you work for your grade. Attend classes so you won't fall behind, and topics are cumulative. Read the chapters, do the assignments and attend classes; you will definitely get an A. She's very helpful, be it during class or her office hours. One of the best professors I've had so far.
I took a class that was all about computer work. Homework due every class period done and submitted online. Easy class for me because I did most of the stuff we learned in class already in Middle and High School. Have to buy and read the book. Class was held even on snow days, just online.
This professor is very widely misunderstood. To the lazier student they hate her, she gives a lot of work and requires you to go tutoring if you have anything below a 90 but she wants to assure you know the material. The class is easy if you just go to class and do the homework.
I worked my butt of in this class. I would go to the tutor 3-4 hours a week and still managed to fail a test. She tries to help but it does not help. I was about to be sick during one of the test but if I got up to leave she would have failed me so I only completed half the test and failed. She isn't a horrible professor just very strict.
This class is very tough but prof does her best to try and help. There is mandatory tutoring which is a huge waste of time due to the fact that there is sometimes 40 students to one tutor. The group project is a pain. Tests can be very complicated but she gives an opportunity for a "second chance exam" which replaces the lowest test score.
Dr. Rhoads is amazing. She has accomplished so much, I have no idea why she is teaching at KU. But she gives her all for students, is very clear about what is due when, and always shows respect and patience with students - even the ones who don't come prepared. The class is a lot of work, but you learn a lot.
its a third in the semester but i love this class and the structure, she has all the assignments and due dates for the entire semester and point worth, i have her class 2 times a week and after each class i have to do HW for about a hour, its not bad, everything is very hands on. i recommend you get a buddy and do HW and tracking quizzes together.
Very easy class and very caring professor. I barely opened the textbook and seldom showed up in the later half of the semester and I passed it with a "A". I would take her class again. Highly recommend.
Take this professor for this course if you want to pass she is so easy
In order to understand the class you have to sit in the computer lab for a few hours and really focus on how to work excel. It can be confusing at times but she will help you work through it. If you don't understand there are tutors that she allows you to go to who are also helpful. Pretty difficult class but only if you get off track
Worst professor ever!!!! She teach for the students that actually know what they're doing (talk too fast) and will tell she can't slow down because there's people that know what they're doing and that's going to set them back. No matter how hard you try in her class it's not good enough for her. She's told me to withdrawal because I failed a test
Overall For me it was an Easy A. Only think I disliked was the group project. It really wasn't relative to the class itself. Very little Focus on excel in it, i spent most of my time doing market research for a specific industry. The Project Belongs In an Entrepreneurship class, not an excel/computer Applications class.
Terrific professor. She makes you work hard, but it is worth it because the subject matter is so important in today's world. I can't believe how much I learned! I use what we learned in class at my job all the time - I even impressed my boss with my Excel knowledge.
In the beginning I was super nervous about having class with Dr. Rhoads. She explained we would have a good amount of homework and we would have mandatory tutoring sessions if you didn't have an A in the class. Listen, follow directions, do all of the work and just be respectful and you'll pass the class easy. Don't let the work intimidate you.
Dr. Rhoads is easily one of the most qualified professors I've ever had. Her course is difficult, and there is a lot of homework but she gives you absolutely every resource you need to succeed. Follow her schedule, attend the mandatory tutoring, and review your homework and the class is an easy A.
Extremely easy class, but excessively demanding. Everything you do in this class is a 3-4 step process. The group project is terrible. You're REQUIRED to see a tutor if you have lower than a 90%. Tests/Homework/Quizzes are all easy if you pay attention. Definitely not worth the stress though. Take a different professor for this course.
Rhoads class can be very demanding, feels like busy work at times. But if you stay on top of your work and go to class you'll do well. When it comes to her knowledge of the material you could almost call her overqualified. Its hard work but you'll learn a lot and end up with a grade thats reflective of your hard work.
Dr. Rhoads was a Good professor. She made us do a lot of work to get a good grade, but ultimately I did learn a lot. I'm not sure if all of the knowledge is going to be needed, but i'm sure future employers will be impressed. The group project on the other hand was not good. One member didn't show up for meetings, and made us do everything.
This isn't a hard class if you do the homework/readings. The tests aren't too hard if you keep up with everything. Showing up to class is VERY IMPORTANT to Rhoads and a lot of the files we create in class are used for later classes, so showing up is a must. I had an A for 90% of this class but went to tutoring for extra credit. Not a bad course!
A perfect example of a professor that makes things far more complicated than they need to be. The tests are based off of her own book, which is not very organized and is written at a level far above freshman computer science. Also, the group project she makes you do has about 20% to do with what you do in the class. The rest is unrelated.
She is very knowledgeable of the material. This class is a pain in the but because of the amount of homework and time you have to put into it if you want to do well. Attendance is mandatory for this class. If you don't have an A- or A for many of the weeks in the semester you have to got to mandatory tutoring. Definitely recommend not taking.
She's a great professor, the material is just hard to learn. I had an A through out the whole semester but I still went to the tutoring she offered to make sure I knew the material. She does assign a lot of homework, but as long as you pay attention in class homeworks are easy. Best advice is to go to the tutoring.
She is an amazing teacher, one thing you should know is the class is graded by test is homework heavily but the homework is very straight forward. everything is outlined and all the work is there for you to do. there are many assignments and sometimes a quiz at the end so if you fail this class its just because you did not do the work
Dr. Rhoads is a smart woman and definitely knows her stuff. The class has a lot of homework due every few days and a lot is really over complicated. She was in an accident that makes her unable to remember names and dates and it can make it rather confusing when trying to plan for a test. I'd recommend taking an easier teacher.
Dr. Rhoads is amazing. She's super smart and super inspirational. I'm about to finish her BUS171 class and looking back, the homeworks were challenging, but easily accomplished if you study. Tests were easy if you studied, and know the material. I have an A- as of now and will probably finish with that. Group project is definitely the worst part.
Dr. Rhoads is a fantastic professor. She definitely makes you work for your grade; group project, lots of homework and studying, and some required tutoring. I've discovered that I'm actually really good with computers and software, thanks to her. You'll definitely have to invest some time and effort into this class, but it's so worth it.
This was a challenging class. You will have to put in a lot of time regardless of the professor. 5 tests, probably around 100 homework assignments (some small, some big). Tests will be very difficult if you don't prepare. Overall Rhoades is helpful tho. Group project lasts all semester and sucks. Bonus given at end of semester to boost 5% up.
she is the most knowledgeable person that I have ever met. you really have to keep up with homework and pay attention. any time that I had a question she was approachable- GO TO HER OFFICE HOURS. I would definitely take her again.
Dr. Rhoads has a really tough curriculum for this class. If you dont show up for class theres no way you can pass this class. Everything in this class is a 5 step process. The group project has absolutely nothing to do with the course material.
she's a nice professor. But if you want to get a A you got to follow the schedule for homework. what I mean is that there is a lot of them, but if you keep on with the homework, you go to the labs sessions and you attend class, you will pass the class. also you will have to learn stuff by yourself sometimes because she wont do everything in class
Nice lady, definitely gives you a chance to earn a good grade. The material is hard, but there are plenty of assignments throughout the semester to keep your grade up. She makes it very clear what you are being graded on. A couple tests on the computer, some homework, and a group presentation make up most of the class.
Dr. Rhoads is an awesome teacher. The material can get tricky and there is a lot of homework to help with that. As long as you keep up with the homework schedule and don't fall behind, you should do fine. There are also tutors available if needed. There is also a group project that is kind of annoying but it's easy.
Shes is knowledge about the material but flies through it. She gives a crazy amount of homework each week that takes forever to do. The first two exams were easy but once you have the excel exam shes makes them very challenging. Attendance is mandatory. Group project at the end is easy and a grade booster. The tutors are very helpful for homework
Requires silly things like a profile picture for D2L, apparently in class she goes around and takes pictures of the students and then requires them to upload the photo to D2L along with address and phone. You must upload personal information. A bit of a smart aleck kind of teacher, makes smart remarks/jokes. Many ice breakers, wasting my $$
Dr. Rhoads has a lot of experience in the world, however teaching is not her speciality. She spent more time doing introductions in class than learning real material. She is worried about things that are mediocre and unnecessary than stuff related to the tests. I regret taking her.
She grades by whether you do the assignments (quizzes and discussions) by due date or not so gaining points is 100% on the student. The only downside is this course should've never been made a requirement for the MBA program. I wholeheartedly doubt my future accounting-based employer will hire me because I understand how a router works.
This class is extremely homework heavy. If you do not go to class you will not pass the class. She requires you to go to tutoring an hour each week if you have below an A- and expects you to donate more time to this class than others. You will not learn everything from her, her goal is to have you figure it out before class and then just skim it.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Requires weird things like profile pictures, not accommodating for anything students may have. Gives hours of homework that hasnt been taught yet and expects you to get an A or else you have to go to tutoring. Dont have time for tutoring every week? You get even more points off. By far worst prof I have ever had avoid if possibl
Do not take her if you don't have to. By far the worst professor I have ever had. She is rude and doesn't care about her students, you are not allowed to email her if you are struggling you have to go to a tutor. Her homework takes more than 4 hours. She knows a lot but she should not be a teacher.
Professor Rhoads, is a very stressful class. She expects you to understand all the material without her having time to cover it in class. She isnt readily available and makes snarky comments. Do not take her.
I am doing well in her class, so this is not coming from a lazy student who is feeling bitter after receiving poor marks. A perfect summarization of Dr. Rhoads? She assigned a group project that involved answering 28 questions about her various awards and achievements. She is egocentric, rude, condescending, and disrespectful. Avoid if possible.
Do not take this professor for BUS275. She made the course far more difficult than it needed to be, and was extremely rude if you had any questions. She is obviously very accomplished (she will tell you all about it) but is not ideal for explaining the course material. HW took me about 15 hours a week outside of class.
Beware of Dr. Rhoads, her BUS275 class is a lot of work. Be prepared to spend several hours a week doing the homework. Tutoring is mandatory for anyone not maintaining an A in the class. Don't fall behind!!! It is very hard to catch up on what you missed if you are not learning at the same pace of the class.
She is awesome. So helpful and really cares about her students. She does have to talk about herself to explain some of the reasons she does things a certain way, but I think that hearing about the obstacles she's overcome is inspiring.
Dr CJ Rhoads is a great lecturer, sharing very interesting, experience- based knowledge. I found Dr Rhoads very easy to talk to and extremely respectful and understanding towards everybody's opinion. I enjoy the classes very much and am excited for the next ones. I highly recommend Dr Rhoads' classes.
This class is mostly graders and online assignments. Dr. Rhoads is very accommodating and even though it is not required for this online class, she holds weekly class sessions to help students understand the material. She records the sessions and they can be watched for credit after the session. And she gives extra credit.
Dr. Rhoads- simply marvelous. She brings so much experience to the table and shares so much. She's won awards, was a bank executive, started 4 businesses, 10 books. Yet she still cares about her students and seems to go all out. She met with me late on a Saturday night just to help me finish my project that was due on Monday. Unbelievable!
Great professor. Goes above and beyond.
I really liked this class, and I really enjoyed Dr. Rhoads teaching style. She was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Her interaction with the students was way above what most teachers do.
She really is awesome.
Great professor
She seemed to really work hard to help students. I would have failed if she hadn't been so understanding.
Dr. Rhoads has really high expectations, and it is difficult to keep up. But if you do, you will do well. She always makes herself available for help, and has set up tutors for her students so that they can get all the help they need. I thought this class was really tough, but I learned a lot.
Dr. Rhoads has a lot of experience and shared it with the class. It was very inspiring.
She is by far the easiest stats professor I've ever had. She focuses on understanding the concepts, not the math.
Fun Class just have to pay attention and put in the work
I think Dr. Rhoads is a much better professor compared to others. Every BUS 275 class will be a lot of work, but it prepares you for the exams. She is always on top with grading, you will always know what you have in the class, and she offers extra credit and tutoring. You can join class on zoom and can receive attendance points way after class.
Dr. Rhoads is so sweet and willing to help or provide ways to help so you can pass with a good grade. There is a lot of homework material but some is done in class. The exams are exactly the same as the assignments you have to complete. If you go to class and do the work you will do well. Take advantage of the tutor for easy extra credit points.
This class was very easy with Dr. Rhoads. There is a lot of homework, but it is manageable.
Dr. Rhoads is well prepared when it comes to class materials. She is organized and does class participation activities daily so students can learn how to solve problems.
Lots of tests and homework's but it is manageable, attendance is mandatory.
Very fair and very open to questions and giving feedback. Appropriate responsiveness and energetic personality.
Very fair as long as you do your work. Lectures are not confusing at all easy concepts and works through them slow enough. If you want a good great you can get it pretty easily.
Professor Rhoads is very educated and caring. This class by nature will have a lot of homework and assignments however she does let you know that at the start of the semester. We do pose questions through a discussion board however I have also emailed her without problems and used the discussion board to answer problems I had.
Awesome professor. She is always on top of things - we know what our grades are every week. I don't know why someone would say she doesn't look at grades till the end of the semester - she was always very responsive when I asked her about grades. She works hard and really cares about her students.
She is very clear about what is expected and does a good job of explaining the concepts.
She seems to bend over backwards to help students. She met me several times during her office hours to help me with various assignments. And she arranges for tutors as well.
Great prof. Knows her stuff.
Great professor. She said it was the first time she taught the course, and there were a few points of confusion as she got used to the Mindtap, but overall I think she did a fantastic job. Most of the tests were relatively easy, and she went over all the material in class.
Really good professor, though I wish she was a bit more flexible on due dates. She gives a grace period, but sometimes you just miss the due date anyway. She should extend due dates whenever students need them.
Wants her students to succeed, and is willing to provide as many resources as possible.
Great Professor. Just stay on top of your assignments.
Homework due at 8:00pm. Group projects that force you to meet with people online. Group projects that are also really stupid and almost impossible.
overall great professor.
She is very good at what she teaches and understand it very well.
Fabulous Prof. Her life is inspiring and she's an excellent teacher.
She gives extra credit for extra tutoring and if you find mistakes in the textbook or D2L.
She gives extra time to do the tests and records the classes - although even if you are in the online section, you can attend the class live if you wish. The final is comprehensive.
She is very respectful of all her students and helped me a lot throughout the course. She made it easy when you were sick to be able to watch zoom lectures back.
Dr. Rhoads is a great teacher. She has great resources for students to succeed in her class. She records all her class sessions through zoom so student who did not make it to class can watch the videos and do the homework for that day. The tests are not timed, can be taken in class or not, and she give student 48 hours to complete them.
Class is easy as long as you do the homework and show up to class. I took her for both 220 and 275 and she allowed us to take the exams fully online with 48 hours to complete the exams which is really nice. 275 is harder than 220 but the material is just a bit harder.
Dr. Rhoads was awesome to have! classes are a lot of the time boring but she gives you the option to participate in the class or over zoom. Homework's were due every Tuesdays and Thursdays which are easy. She gives you a 48 hour window to take the exams and quizzes which is awesome for people juggling a lot of other tasks. Great Prof
Good professor easily accessible make sure to do all assignments they help in the future
Dr Rhoads can seem a bit intimidating in how much emphasis is put on large-grade activities like finals and projects, and her busy lifestyle may lead you to believe she is inaccessible outside of class time. in reality, as long as you are willing to give advance notice, she is happy to help and wants her students to succeed
Dr. Rhoads is easily approachable. She wants her students to learn, even if it as their pace. She is very organized in managing all assignments and learning in D2L. Overall, I would totally take another class of hers again.
Really great professor.
Outstanding professor. Very clear instructions, easy enough to pass as long as you participate and do the homework. Tests are exactly what we covered in class and for homework. No suprises.
I had Dr. Rhoads for both advanced stats and information technology, and she was great in both of them. IT was the more difficult course - but more fun too because very little of it was memorizing terms or just doing multiple choice. You learn how to use Excel and Access - which I used in my job - so it was fabulous experience!
Great prof. She's very helpful. You have to pay attention, though. Lots of homework.
Dr. Rhoads brings lots of experience and great stories to the class, but her tests are really difficult. The project is kind of fun, and she is an easy grader on it as long as you follow the instructions.
Is very helpful and gives a lot of tools to set you up for success.
She's very organized. You must go to class and do the homework. You can join from zoom and rewatch the lectures which is helpful. I didn't do great in MAT140 but she knows what she's talking about and really helped me gain a better understanding on the material. I would take her again.
she is very flexible
Dr. Rhoads is very professional & organized. Her class is really really tough and its a lot of work, but she explains the material in a very thorough way and is always willing to help out. Homework every week, but she gives you decent time for it. The material in the class is very tedious and challenging, but she is always willing to help you out.
Dr. Rhoads give students everything they need to pass her class. Students do not have to come to class, they can participate in zoom. This class can be difficult if students do not put in the effort, but the ones who do, they should not have any problems.
time consuming but good to know and if you put the work in you will be fine
Most work is done independently.
I am sympathetic to the professor's situation, but it should not be the class's responsibility to figure out the mistakes of the professor for every test and quiz. Important formulas were given wrong frequently. Overall, I had a horrible experience in this class. We were also told exams were thrown together last minute, without being checked.
Great professor. Very helpful and always willing to meet me during office hours to go over assignments. Arranged for tutors for extra help (and I really needed extra help). Got an A- in the class even though I don't know much about computers.
Really great prof.
The work is very organized, and everything is laid out from the very beginning. I really liked the graders - they were kind of fun to do.
Super great professor. I want to take her for BUS220 too. She is an entrepreneur too - is CEO of her own business in addition to teaching! The class goes really fast, but if you do the homework, it is easy to keep up.
This was a difficult course, but Dr. Rhoads really worked hard at making sure we all understood it. I really liked the excel spreadsheets and how we did things in class and then had homework a couple of days later that went over the same things.
Overall, Professor Rhoads was very unorganized at times and can be extremely difficult to follow. Her tests are online and fairly easy. I did genuinely enjoy the class as I learned a lot, but if computers are not really your strong suit then I'd avoid her.
Professor Rhoads runs a challenging but rewarding class. The material can be tough, but her thorough explanations and willingness to help make a big difference. Using unstuck ai and doing the weekly homework is key to succeeding.
The class is homework/work heavy, but she is clear up front about this. Although she sometimes had to fix grades on exams, it only affected them for the better. The group project is a lot of work but that is only if you do not spread it out over the semester. If you regularly ask questions when you need to, the course is pretty easy.
This is my personal opinion. I think Dr. Rhoad's course was easy to follow and understand, as long as you focus in class, complete the class files as she taught it & homework, and read the textbook that she wrote. Ask questions on the discussion board if you have any questions---it's very helpful.
If you go to class and do the work the class is easy
She was very helpful with all work and has zoom accessibility, so if you are sick you can attend on zoom. She also records classes and posts them so you can watch them whenever you need to. Tests are super easy and I overall enjoyed going to this class.
The Professor is humorous, honest, and encouraging right from day one. She patiently showed me how or what I missed. Great tools are Zoom class recordings, mandatory tutoring, shortcut keyboard actions, and textbook. Students can harness their interpersonal skills, communication, and networking with others as well in this course. Try it. Thank you.
She is an excellent professor. Recommend taking classes from her for business.
overall, not bad of a class its best to attend or watch the recordings to keep a good grade in this class, each homework assignment can get pretty long.
If you take Dr. Rhoads: *Give yourself time to learn the material. * Use the study guide topics she provides. * GO TO TUTORING. * Practice! *Positives? Tests are open Google! This class is too much information and not enough time. DO NOT take this class on a heavy schedule. If you are not computer savvy, Dr. Rhoads is even more difficult.
Dr. Rhoads is a good professor who knows what she is talking about in terms of the field of statistics. I would say that this class is manageable if you know what you are doing or have any prior experience of excel. The one thing I would like to mention is that this class moves fast so always keep up or you may find yourself falling behind
if you want good grades go to class and pay attention. but i feel she could do better, in future!!
She gives multiple resources to help with homework and studying. If you keep up with everything she is fair and will pass easily.
Professor Rhoads was a very good teacher who displays clear knowledge and understanding of the material she is teaching. However, with that comes very detailed instructions in class that you must be present and pay attention to, as well as a large load of homework that goes with it.
Honestly, the homework really wasn't that much. You have 8 homework assignments, and they take at most an hour to complete each. I found the easiest way to do that was by watching the zoom lectures while doing the homework. All in all, would not take the class again because I hate statistics, but the class is not as hard as everyone says.
Professor Rhoads, is extremely detailed. She provides tutors to help with assignments as needed (Mandatory if you have a lower grade).D2L for her class takes some getting used to, its kind of like a scavenger hunt at first. With this said, if you want to actually learn at Kutztown university she is the professor you want.
Overall she is very knowledgeable, but her class can become a lot to handle. At times the material gets to be a lot and confusing.
Great class, homework heavy
Dr. Rhoads demonstrated clear understanding and presenting of all material in BUS 275. She provided students with the ability to watch recordings of material that was presented in class, if a student happened to miss a class or needed a better understanding of the material. Very professional.
Excellent professor. It's a tough class, but she really tries hard to get your through it.
CJ is captivating and taking her is a right of passage as a business student at KU. CJ gave our class 3 days to complete large homework assignments and exams but did threaten to shorten the window. While she gives a lot of homework, it is part of the territory that comes with this course. And mad respect to Rhoads for letting us use AI on Exams.
Dr. Rhoads knows her stuff. She is really helpful - especially if you have a problem.
Fantastic professor. She gives you a 48 hour window to take the tests, and the hands-on activities are all related to the test topics. She's very organized and gives us all the dates for all the assignments right at the beginning. It really helps you plan the semester. Plus she has a lot of connections with businesses.
There is way too much homework, but I have to admit that it really helped me learn how to use Excel. I just wish she didn't try to cover so much in the semester - perhaps this class should be split into two classes. She really cares, though - and even runs special study sessions and gets tutors to help.
Great professor. You should definitely take her.
Don't recommend. Not a good professor.
Absolutely Fantastic professor. Definitely you should take her. She really knows her stuff, is very organized, and the tests are easy if you do the homework. I had her for two classes and she was great in both of them.
I had her for both BUS275 and BUS220. She said they were hard to take together because they both have a lot of homework, but I didn't think it was that much. Maybe an hour a week for each. And she explains the lesson so well. You have to come to class and do the homework, but she is a really great teacher.
Dr. Rhoads is very upfront and clear of what she expects throughout the semester. As an independent person and student, I enjoyed this as it allowed me to get the work done in my own pace and own way. There is a lot of hw, with 1-4 assignments due per week. And you will need access to a PC (or use the library). She is flexible and provides support.
The professor was good about responding to the students and was willing to help. This class is really helpful to learn Excel and Access, and it is important to follow the assignment layout otherwise you could fall behind.
She does give a lot of assignments but it is worth it and often times the work is very easy, honestly if you attend class you will have no issues at all. It is not hard to pass the class with a good grade as long as you put effort in which anyone who is working towards a degree should be.
She is all over the place at times and there is constant mistakes with her homework's and tests.
Well she got suspended from the school so you tell me
Lots of homework and too many exams
nothing very well forward professor just makes everything more harder then what it is.
Great class to learn about excels/databases and how important they really are. Very homework and test heavy so make sure to attend class.
Dr. Rhoads has an awful teaching method; she requires students to guess on new concepts/questions while we're in class, and then picks apart the wrong answers and calls out the participant by name. She then attempts to explain how to solve the problems after we guess, but often doesn't know how to do it herself. It's nearly impossible to learn.
Dr. Rhoads is an excellent professor. I enjoyed being his student.
Dr. Rhoads is a fabulous professor. She got suspended for 5 days for standing up for all faculty rights. She really cares about her students and is not willing to compromise on the quality of her courses. If you pass her classes, you know you've worked hard and done well.
The assignments done in class are just like the homeworks and tests. Dr. Rhoads moves quickly through steps in class, but she records the sessions on Zoom so you can rewatch the class at your own pace.
I would absolutely take her again. She seems to really care. Her tests are easy as long as you go to class and do the homework.
Dr. Rhoads is the best. She listens to her students and is very understanding.
Great prof. Well worth it.
She's very helpful. Kind and considerate and respectful if students. There is a lot of homework, but it's pretty easy if you go to class.
Great prof.
Excellent prof. I can't say i think I'll ever use statistics, but you never know. Dr. Rhoads did a great job of making a very difficult topic easy to understand. And she seems to truly love teaching and cares a lot about her students.
Really great professor. I especially liked the top ten secrets for great project management.
The activities in MyLAB IT sometimes mark things wrong and that was very annoying. But Dr. Rhoads was very understanding and helpful. I used the tutors a lot to help me in the class. There is a lot of homework, but if you plan well, it's easy to finish in time.
She is really strict, but if you go talk to her she is really helpful.
Excellent professor! I really like how she teaches statistics. The homework is easy if you are in class.
Fabulous prof
Rhoads does know the material well and can be helpful at times. However, structure of the class is horrendous. She makes you log into zoom even tho you are in class. Can't Remember dates, numbers or NAMES cause of a condition she has... AND YET SHE SOMEHOW TEACHES A CLASS ABOUT DATES AND NUMBERS. it is ridiculous that the school has not fired her.
Dr. Rhoads is extremely knowledgable but the class is not put together very well, and she has trouble keeping things straight which causes confusion. START THE END OF THE SEMESTER PROJECT EARLY AND FORCE YOUR GROUP MEMBERS TO START TOO. Trust me it will be worth it.
