Coolest teacher i've ever had! fun, easygoing, (however, her tests are all essays, but all about personal opinions though, just remember to write alot of details, easy A) she even curses in class...anyways, she's just plain COOL.

Very easy. Essays are a breeze. I would expect that she would more demanding for having a Stanford socio. degree. She is somewhat superficial. If you are taking very hard science classes, take this one to ease your load.

Pretentious

Easy class to pass, but you won't learn a thing. She thinks she's the coolest thing out there, and loves to cuss.

Best teacher in ELAC. Easy to learn from her and easy to pass but need some efford to get an A. The teacher made me change my major from business to sociology.

She is too tacky. This is an academic institution, not the ghetto from which she came. Very disappointing to have her represent our faculty.

I loved this teacher she is not a disgrace, she is an example of how teachers should be. She may sound like she is from the ghetto but hey she must know something if she got 3 degrees from Stanford. She makesyou think and makes the class go by fast.

shes one of the best teachers i've had. a down to earth person with a great skill in teaching. she makes good analogies and explanations. if your not a critical thinker this class isn't for you.

Despite that she got on my nerves once in a while and her cussing sometimes sounds forced, she is one of the most interesting profs. at ELAC. The project of going to a public spot dressed like a bum is irrelevant to sociology, but why not take the class for an easy A?

Christine is a great teacher and a cool person. Her way of teaching truly showed me a different way of looking at life. She is not ghetto, but she keeps it real. To all of you who said that she was ghetto, you need to stop with that because you are probably ghetto yourselves. She knows a lot about life which makes her a scholar in Sociology.

This is a great class. You have to be willing to openly talkj about this subject if not stay out of this class. everyone shares intresting stuff in class. It is Easy if u are willing to open a book and read it. Be sure to take notes as well. I would recommend her for this particular subjuect.

Despite of the few negative comments she's received, the truth of the matter is that she tells it like it is. As much as it may seem that she sterotypes Asians and/or Black she also does it on her self. I truly enjoyed her class and learned a lot from it.She keeps it very interesting.Those who can't take the truth-don't take her-stay in your "box".

Great Professor

Christine is an incredable professor. In my opinoin she is jusr very down to earth, and if she wants to cuss she should be able to. She is very intelligent and if she chooses to express her self that way she should be able to. I truly enjoyed her class and I learned a great deal.

I dont see why people talk so negaitive about her.. she is an awsome teacher who knows her stuff and its a VERY easy A. she even tells u the questions on the test. i took both her classes.

Rodriguez is an intelligent, vibrant, and down to earth professor. The midterm and final are based on her lectures, which are always as interesting as she is. She actually knows what she is talking about and her students actually walk out enlightened at the end of the semester. I looked forward to her lectures. I highly recommend her class.

I like this teacher. She explains in detail and tells u exactly what she expects from u. U learn a lot and i dont ever think u can get bored in her class, this teacher is so interesting and learn a lot which prepares u for later on in the future. Great class and great professor! This class was so much fun, I always enjoyed going to class. She does use profanity but only to make us all laugh she never directs it ay anyone. There is a museum and field assignment to the mall where you must go all crappy and write papers on. Kind of a **** to do them but her class is so fun they're do-able.

I had prof rodriguez for juvenile delinquency. She was a good professor who swore a lot in class in an attempt to 'connect' with her audience. I enjoyed the course but the only time i needed to read the book was to prepare for the exam questions that she had given to the class.

well let me tell you, she is pretty koo, but i found somethin a lil messed up, i got two A's in my tests, and i dunno how did i do on my final, but she still gave me a C on the class...

i had ms. rodriguez in the spring and she was really good!!! all you gotta do is take notes and pay attention. there's twomidterms, a final and a field assignment. real easy i got an A!!!

I took this class just for fun, and I liked it very much. She relates the material to every day life. She does a good job.

This teacher is awesome. She is fun and has a lot of passion about what she does. She's intelligent and has a great sense of humor. She helps you relate real life experiences with what you are learning in the class. Her tests are essay but if you pay attention and take notes, you really don't need a book. Definitely recommended.

She's an easy teacher she relates her teaching to current events and gives you a differnt perspective of society. The only thing is you need to really study the text book for the mid term and final but the good thing is she tells you what to study for.

Her class is fun just make sure you do turn off your cell phone when your in class because she will kick you out of class.If you take her class make sure you study for her midterm because she grades hard she looks at every detail you write.

She was a fun enthusiastic professour. it helps that she does relate things to the students. Views things outside of the box and is very easy to communicate with...plus she is really funny at times.....but dont confuse that with easy...her mid-term and finals are nothing to take lightly.....

Christine is the funniest teacher I've ever had. I love that she gives good story examples. Her class is not boring and she doesn't pick on people but that's because she doesn't have to because people join in the topics of the day. Her class is fun.

Great Teacher, no BS! I just left one for M, Morales. go read it. I dont know why i took 2 soc courses, & clearly, the Profe. makes a big diff. As long they know their stuff, you will get good grade! she is clear with her materials, and tells you what she will be testing on b4 the test! And she keeps the class energized at during nap time! 1-3pm

she is the most kick back teacher i've ever met. she should seriously teach at my school. i never drifted off or wanted to fall asleep. she keeps it interesting and fun. and she made the material pretty fun to learn. she makes it interesting and provides good examples. plus, she basically tells you which questions will be on ttest :) 4 out of 6. :)

She is not hard but I learned more from Prof. Marcel than I ever did from her. She can be funny or rude.

Good teacher. A little unorthadox but you just have to take it w/ a grain of salt. She's easy if you pay attention & write good essays. She always has good stories. Yes she cusses a lot & tells you she doesn't care if you don't like it but she's passionate about sociology and thats what matters. She makes you interested in it too.

Ms. Rodriguez is a rly good teacher. All you have to do in the class is pay attention, which is easy to do because her lectures arent boring and she involves the class. Sure she swears alot, but dont we all? Take this class if you want to learn about sociology the right way :)

Christine has a very unique teaching style which keeps most students interested. TESTS ARE EXTREMELY EASY. She gives you the questions before the test. Just take notes directly from the book and you will get that EASY A. People still seem to fail her class, but those are the students who probably fail at life.

Professor Christine Rodriguez is a great educator. Her assignments are related to real life events. I would unquestionably recommend her class but anyone thinking of getting an easy A, please doesn?t take her class (you?ll absolutely learn). : )

She is the coolest and most entertaining professor/ teacher I had ever had. If you want an A make sure you study before the tests. If you want an experienced professor, take her. I think she has three degrees, 2 from Standford and 1 from UCLA so she has experience and knows what she is talking about.

I TOOK TWO CLASSES WITH RODRIGUEZ, SHE IS INSPIRING. HER LECTURES ARE NEVER BORING I ACTUALLY LOOKED FORWARD TO ATTENDING HER CLASS.WE SHOULD HAVE MORE TEACHERS LIKE HER..SO SHE CUSSES BIG DEAL..

Classes are fairly easy; she gives interesting lectures and i consider her to be a fine instructor, but i do agree that she seems to prefer quantity over quality. I've also noticed that she can make certain people feel uncomfortable during lect.(the overweight, foreign students).For some reason, I also found her to be really unapproachable.

knows what she is talking about. only two to three assignments given.tests are essay questions and she is very precise in grading her tests. ask her and she will tell u exactly what she is looking for on the test.her teaching method is simple.she calls on students a lot.her classes are super fun but u do need to work./ hard.it's no joke

The more you write on her essays, the better grade you get. People say she's hard but that's because they're lazy and they don't study and try to mooch the notes off the smarter students. She's entertaining and calls on you a lot, it's great.

I took this course online in Spring. Do the reading, online quizzes and papers. All the exams are written, pretty straight forward if you do the reading.

Rodriguez was an amazing professor. Her class is one of the very few I value. In this class, you learn to see society for what it really is, and prepare to face life. She's highly qualified. As a teacher, I found her to be inspiring. She's very intelligent and funny. Her exams are completely fair. If you want to learn, take her class.

I really do recommend Cristine. I enjoyed going to her class everyday and it was the only class I looked forward to. The exams are pretty simple because she gives the prompts BEFORE the exam so you know EXACTLY what's going to be on it. Exactly the same questions too. She teaches from knowledge and not by books which is GREAT!

make sure you take her in-person classes, they are much better than her online ones! you will be missing out if you don't.

I took her online sociology class this fall!! she's a pretty easy teacher..2 position papers, quizzes, midterm, and a final!! you have flexibility (about a wk) on every assignment, sometimes more!! definitely take her online if you can't go on campus everyday!! [=

Christine is not what many students say. How can she be unfair if she gives students the midterms and final exams prior to the exam days? She gives 5 short essay Q's and 3-4 of those will be on the exam. EXACTLY the same. Study the practice exam-pass the exams. She may sound rough sometimes, but just because she talks a lot doesn't mean she's rude.

LOVED HER CLASS!!! Very straight forward and made the class super fun. Interesting class discussions, and very entertaining. Learned a lot in her class!!! Hard tests!She is pretty intimidating, explains well and makes it interesting yet expects ALOT of effort on test. It's essay format and even is you write your heart out you will still get a B. you have to literary memorize everything you went over that deals with the questi wrote 3 pages to each and it still was not enough

I did not like her. She has this high strung tough attitude all the time and graded horribly. tests were 3 questions to be answered in essay format but even with 3 pages worth you still get a B

Christine is by farm one of my favorite teachers at ELAC. and i dread this place. Her class was very enjoyable and i rarely found myself texting because it was so interesting. Also if you do text and get caught she kind of puts you on blast and makes fun of you. but the whole exp is fantastic. verry funny, interesting, and connects with the student

I hear her classes are great! but i took an online course with her and it was very sloppy. Syllabus was not clear, dates and times were off. Ended up missing a quiz and many missed discusions because it wasn't clear on closing due dates. Not our faults. I would never take an online exam with her again. but at least she grades on a curve!

I took her class for summer. My primary school is not ELAC, and I must say, SHE'S EASY! I don't know why people complain. 1.Her exams are free response. Don't write 5 pgs and expect an A...the point of writing is to go straight the point! 2.She PROVIDES the list of free response that will be on those exams to study! 3-4/ 10 will be on test.COME ON!

I think those of you that whine about her class are pretty flippin' idiotic. Her extra credit assignments,papers,tests, are all somewhat challenging but self explanatory. OH..and by the way (in regards to the over text book usage comments) books are essential in the academic workplace..in other words...its college...deal with it.

I can say so many positive things about Christine. She is a smart, independent woman. Her class can be difficult at times, but if you put in work and seek help, it will pay off. You will not regret taking her! Take advantage of her extra credit, she does not give many opportunities. BTW she will make you laugh with her crude humor! :)

Multiple-choice quizzes in class, so go to class. She talks about things in class that aren't mentioned in the book as well that do show up on exams. Midterms and final are in essay format; gives 5-6 questions on a study guide beforehand and chooses 3 for the exam. Read the book.

Christine is a good at what she does. This was my first class at ELAC and she was what i would expect from a college instructor. She is fair in grading and her lectures are fun and engaging. Her class is not hard but it is not your usual ELAC class meaning you have to do your work, go to class and read if you want an A.I loved taking her class.

Im taking her for Soc 11.Her class is interesting, yet a bit challenging. She will keep you entertained, but she grades the midterm tough!Interesting, yet challenging class.

she's ok. her grading for written tests are very, very hard. dont take this class if your writing skills are poor. she thinks she's an english teacher. the work is time consuming. HOWEVER if you dont think the grade you received for a test is fair, she will listen and raise your grade. she's very blunt, funny, and keeps the class interesting.

I took this class in the summer and your grade is based on how much effort you put into it. Each quiz is based off a single chapter, and she usually reviews it in class. There are 3 exams, all written. She gives you 5 questions to study for a week beforehand, and she will ask you 2 of them for the exam. You will always know to study for.

I took her online back in Fall of 2012 and her class was not so bad. Reading the textbook was a must but the cool thing was being able to use it during the test. But even then her tests were at times challenging. I passed her class with a B and I was pleased with that considering that I actually really had to work for that.

dont take her if its your first year at elac. if your willing to write a lot then take her. she grades tough. take a lot of notes, study a lot. idk if she still doing that "undercover" project. but you gotta write a lot for it, and relate it to the book. overall shes a good prof, but grades insane.

Her class is fun and difficult at the same time. Don't go into one of her classes expecting to just breeze through, she makes you work for it. Her midterms are short answer but she gives you the prompts before hand and she chooses two of them. You have to read. Multiple choice quizzes and essay exams.she releases the exam questions beforehand so there is no excuse for not knowing what to expect. She has lots of experience and is very patient. Curses a lot, but funny as hell. I learned very much in her classes and she provokes us to stand up for our selves and our rights. I can never forget this person.

Christine really knows what she's talking about. She curses nonstop, so if that's not your cup of tea then don't take any classes with her! be mindful of the readings and pay close attention to the details. Quizzes and midterms are fairly challenging but not impossible if you read ahead of time

We're all adults...if you can't handle the cursing or the personal stories then just don't take her. Her class is very straightforward, read carefully to ace the quizzes and be VERY detailed on your midterms. LOOK AT THE EXAMPLES OF PREVIOUS MIDTERMS!!! This screwed a lot of people up. I could have done better if I took her advice.

Cristine knows her sociology to the core. Best instructor at Elac. She makes everything clear by relating to personal experience and current events. Her quizes and midterms are stanford level but it helps shape you academically for upper division. I have the outmost respect for her hustle and teaching. If you can't handle it, your one word LAZY!

This class was awesome. I learn so much and she is very straight forward. Attendance are a must. You have three writing exams. You have to study a lot for the exams. She expects very detail info on the exams. Read the material and study and you will pass. She curses a lot if u cannot handle it do not take her. Great teacher very inspirational.

I liked this class. We didn't always agree but she never help it against me. The quizes where east and do the extra credut. I also liked her knowledge int law, I personally loved thec i. Hor me anyways the class was easy, although I think the class got gitched. Ended up with a 102%

Her final and midterm required memorizing an essay for 4 questions. She gave the sg and all you had to do was answer it yourself and memorize them. I did pretty good on them.. it all depends on you. Her quizes which was every wk I believe were easy and were only 8 questions.

Christine is one of the best teachers here on campus. Her class was very interesting and knowledgeable. That doesn't mean it'll be easy though; her written final and midterms are designed to ensure you know ALL the material beforehand. A fair amount of assignments. EC opportunity, a group project, couple papers and quizzes. Highly recommended.

What a lot of people need to realize is that College is College! She went to stanford so of course her grading is going to be a bit tougher but it's not unbearable. She gives you a study guide. I failed this class before with another professor and got an A in this one. Participate in class! She's very funny, down to earth, and understanding.

You have to make sure you know the material for quizzes. Tests are essay (can include lecture material). Difficult, but not impossible. Just readstudy. I was unsure about how I felt about the difficulty of tests, but at the end of the semester I appreciated her. She funny. Not the easiest grader, but it prepares you for the university for sure.

A good mix of multiple choice quizzes, written discussions questions, and written Exams. College writing is the life blood of any student. A great opportunity to develop and refine your college writing skills while exploring a fascinating subject. I really loved this course.

She is a very fun teacher to take and a fun person to talk to. She knows her material and her exams test wheter or not you know the material well enough to write on it for her mid term and exams. But the group project is the one thing I didn't like about her class but looking back it shows how society thinks.

EXPECT group work&CRAZY filed assignment. My essays r ALL 8-10pgs(16pgs for preparing exams). First I don't like her but at the end I appreciate her alot

Rodriguez is legit. She's a graduate of Stanford and expects a lot from her students. Her midterms consists of a lot of writing. If you're at English 101 you will do well, if not then I would not recommend. Her discussions are very interesting and if you want to be challenged then that's what you will get from her. I studied so much, received a B.

If you are a sociology major and you actually want to learn then she would be a great instructor because she pushes you and when you think you are done she throws more stuff at you. If you are looking for a filler class avoid her at all costs. She will challenge you, which is great, but again not for a filler class.

Christine is probably one of the best professors, I have had at ELAC. Her midterms can be tough if you don't read the material. Her lectures are very entertaining and understandable. Christine is a Stanford graduate and as such holds her students to a very high standard. The textbook she chose was contemporary and went in depth with the course. There are discussions, quizzes, term papers, 2 midterms, and a final that are all essay format. If you are a Sociology major, I highly recommend her as she is very knowledgeable.

Christine is great! She went to standford, but she's not stuck up about it. She's funny and her lectures are amazing. I would definately recommend, especially for soc 21. Christine also shows she cares for her students. That being said, her class is not easy, you get the grade you work for.

Christine is the best Sociology professor at ELAC. Her class IS NOT for slackers and you must work for your grade. She knows her material thoroughly and holds her students to the same standard. A couple of quizzes, two written in class midterms, and a final compose your grade. She cusses a lot and her lectures are hilarious. I highly recommend her.

This is my second time taking Christine. Her classes made me earn the grade I deserve. She is there to help you out if you need it just go to her office hours. Really enjoy having her again. Online consist of several quizes two midterms and a final as well as discussion. It is manageable to get an A. Read the material and ask questions.

I honestly wish I could have Rodriguez for every math class I still need to take. Her tips are really helpful, it feels like she is really considering what is in your best interests and needs as a student and takes her time in teaching you the most important material in the course and doesn't bog down the class with the stuff you never use.

The class was very interesting like I really enjoyed it. We would have discussion posts usually every week (I loved these). Quizzes every week and Essays like every other week. We had 2 midterms and a Final. She gives us the prompts a week in advance so if you fail her midterms/final that's on you lol.

She is pretty clear on her grading criteria and terms. She provides the book and does not give too much work. Overall she is pretty lenient with her grades. It is a lot of reading but she structures the class in a way that is easy to follow. She gives the questions on the midterms beforehand so you have time to study though they are long response.

I had her for my Sociology course, she is super funny, and down to earth. Her assignments are very easy, and also easy to understand. She gave us midterm studies so its pretty hard to fail the class unless you don't turn in assignments.
