This class is easy if you do all of your assignments and work hard on your papers. Make sure your ideas are clearly stated and related and you will do fine on your papers. Nice, helpful, and very willing to sit down and help. Be prepared to work though. I got a b , I didn't work as hard as I could have.
I was able to understand what certain things were on my essays.
She is a very nice lady and she knows the subject very well. Take her she will teach something for sure. Great person in and out of class

She is a hard teacher with little patience. Avoid her if you have a chance.
She was a Awesome teacher!!! If you went to class and did the homework and the paragraphs....Then no reason why you should get an "A"
She was a very nice person i would take her again for my next english class. She's way nice and not too hard you learn and have fun i really enjoyed taking her class. :]]
i dont know why everyones talking about how nice she is because i dont see it at all she is very impatient and quick to get annoyed when you ask questions and the whole class didnt like her.on the other hand very easy the essays arnt hard and in my opinion shes a very easy grader and you dont have alot of homework very easy class.
This class was pretty easy going. There is plenty of discussion and you have to keep up with the reading, but they are interesting. She was nice and very approachable and gives back excellent feedback on essays. Helped me grow as a writer. The only downside is that there was too much group discussions that lasted longer than necessary.
Very nice and approachable teacher! The class wasn't bad at all. Just make sure to do the reading, which isn't that much. Lots of group discussion, but it wasn't that bad. She's easy on the eyes and very clear on what she wants you to do.
She is a wonderful teacher who cares about her students and wants them to do well. Her class was simple, not too much homework and fun assignments. My favorite English professor.
She is Very good. And very precise
She is the definition of a "tough love" type of teacher, but she is like this because she wants all of her students to succeed. She is more than willing to help you when you ask her for help. After taking her class, your writing will improve. She knows what she's teaching. Would definitely take her for the higher english classes.
Uses the book alot. Readings, essays, practice work. Quizzes quiet a bit but its to help us out. The class average for essays is usually a C so ask her for HELP and what she wants. Must be there and not skip class cause you'll miss alot. But shes feisty and funny
Mrs. Sandoval comes off as a strong person. She is strict because she wants to see all of her students succeed. She likes to see that you are dedicated and serious. gained a great deal of respect for her after I took her class. Don’t take her class if you are lazy & not serious.
Great teacher. She really knows how to explain and thoroughly go over the material to help you understand. She also doesn't make you write about anything you don't want to. I liked her a lot and I passed English 50 because of her tools that she gave me.
professor sandoval is the best teacher to take seh seems tough but shes not, you must accept all the help she offers you and do All your homework it will help you in the test apart from being nice she really explains all her lectures clear for you to understand....you cant be lazy and do your work last min. or else you'll fail forsure.
Professor Sandoval is the best english teacher I learned so much from her, she makes her lectures fun and sometimes gives extra credit. just study for her quizzes and ask for help on the essays and there is no reason to get an A TAKE HER she is the best!!!!!!
Christine is amazing! Wonderful teacher, very helpful and explains everything clearly, as long as you're consistent you'll be fine. she's tough when she needs to be. Love her, and would take her again!
Her class is pretty easy and she really makes sure that everyone understands the lecture before she moves on with other assignments.
Took her over Winter 2 years ago good professor. Just do the work and essays and should be a easy pass. Note: the WRC was a pain in the winter, but i got a lot of help
All our papers were on sports:( including the research paper, the mid term and final. The in class essays were both on sports.. She's easy to talk to, helps, and answers questions clearly.. She got the brains and the looks;)
She is an amazing professor. I became way better at writing essays because of her.
Ms Sandoval is a great professor. She modifies her assignments and syllabus to the needs of her students and the class to ensure comprehension. She's huge on group discussion and you will truly do better if you speak up in class to offer insights (be warned, she will pick you apart, but it's worth it.) She will work with you, just communicate w her
Amazing professor, she makes you work for your grade but is reasonable. Office hours are always available and tries to help you the best she can. She gives a decent amount of reading - seems like a lot if you procrastinate. Very good feedback on essays, learned a lot through her. Definitely recommend. A lot of in class group discussions. Need TextB
Really cool teacher had her for 60A in a fast-track class. Even though she failed the homies, I am still standing strong and made it into 60B with an A. She's kinda funny but not really. She makes sure everyone understands the reading before she moves on. She gives extra credit. Be on her good side and participate in the class. Take her now.
Professor Sandoval is really cool and she really cares about her students. Just do all the assignments and get good grades on the quizzes. tests, and papers for you will be fine in the class.
Took fast track 60a+60b in one semester it was a lot of work but professor Sandoval really cares about the futures of her students. She helps you out with every assignment and is available any time for help feedback. Put in effort and show that you are actually learning something and she will pass you. Make sure you have all your homework done.
Amazing teacher!
She's an amazing professor, she honestly cares about her students and takes anytime to help you with any work problem you have. I suggest her for the fast track 60a/60b. You will not regret it!
she aight
She was great and helped me so much. make sure to attend office hours
She comes off very strict and uptight at first, but you will realize she wants you to genuinely do well and learn. She is always available when she says she is and will help you as much as possible. Take her class.
Professor Sandoval seems very uptight at first, but as the course goes on, it is evident she really cares about her students. She stresses to come to office hours, which are quite beneficial. There are many papers and she is very strict on punctuation/grammar, but this is a college course. In the long run, she helped me become a better writer.
Professor Sandoval's class was awesome. In each class session there was something new to look forward to and her lectures were very intriguing.
She is very caring but so difficult ....I don't like her
she is a great english teacher really cares about the students but i feel like she gets annoyed easily. still think shes awesome. hope i pass her class.
I loved her!!! She is the best professor I've taken so far. She gives amazing feedback on essays. She genuinely cares about her students, i highly recommend taking her.
Professor Sandoval is a great teacher who cares truly about her students. She makes you work for the grade. She has lots of patience. For the ENG60B 8 week course we did 3 essays and multiple quizzes. Every final is an in class essay. Strict but very caring and kind. An amazing teacher ! We need her textbook. She gives very good feedback!!! :)
Very helpful enjoyed taking the fast track with her
Professor Sandoval was amazing for the double time fast track. She truly cares about each of her students. She seems very angry and uptight at first but she just wants to see you succeed. Lectures were good and she really developed my writing skills. I would definitely take her again.
good teacher and tough grader on tests but has attitude. when you ask her something that you dont understand she gets annoyed. or when u ask her to repeat what she said again she replies with ''do i really need to repeat what i said''
Great teacher. you can tell she really cares about her students. she gives great feedback on essays. she grades tough on test but she always tells you exactly whats going to be on the test almost word for word. she sometimes gets annoyed having to explain the same thing over again but she allows you to email her for extra help.
Although professors Sandoval is caring she is not great with students with learning disabilities. Seems to get annoyed when asking questions. She does however try to make sure everybody in the class understands the fundamentals of English.
Took her over the summer and you can't go wrong with this professor! Her expectations are made very clear from day one; there is one midterm, one final, around four essays, and six in-class writings. She gives excellent feedback on essays and encourages students to ask her for help! She's charismatically sarcastic and overall really kind! Take her!
If you show up and stay on top of assignments you will pass. Definitely go to her office hours it helps a lot with essays and one on one lectures. She cares for her students but gets frustrated easily f you don't try at all. She changed a lot of the due dates to give students more time. Passes back essays before you turn another one to read feedbac
Professor Sandoval is caring, visibly passionate, and dedicating to her students, and their progress throughout the semester. if a proactive teacher is what you are in search of I recommend Professor Sandoval all the way. It is an experience that will only aid the rest of your college career. I would take this course repeatedly if I could.
Extremely challenging class BUT she will always work with you and try to help you. I was pushed a lot during this class but I did learn way more than I would have in an easier class. Worth the work.
I really enjoyed her class. I learned a lot from her lectures. She was an overall great professor. I would defiantly take her class again. The book she uses is inexpensive and you will defiantly want to save it and use it later.
I loved her. She was so caring, but educating. Her textbooks are so interesting. During this pandemic she was so thoughtful. I wasn't ever clueless, because she has a REMIND which was very helpful. She really cared about her students. The grading was tough, but she just wants you to improve!
On the first essay, after a week of turning it in, I was emailed about not putting a title on my essay, and was given 0 credit for the whole assignment even after I tried to ask questions about what I could do to get at least some credit. This also happened on my second essay. She's also not that tech savy and couldn't chare her screen in meetings.
The class mainly consisted of papers and discussion posts. The deadlines for the discussion posts would change often so it got hard to keep track. We met every other week. She has a remind101 which is nice and replied to emails in a timely manner. She is a tough grader but after a while her expectations are pretty clear. The workload was moderate.
Easy class, she's so sweet as well, wish I had her in person. The online class was easy as long as you read all the instructions and did not procrastinate. There was 4 essays all super easy and interesting readings were involved. There is discussion posts, however, they all relate to the readings and topics so not difficult :). Highly recommend
The professor is very broad with essay prompts. Not very well organized. She gives no feedback for the essay and for the discussion board. For the discussion board, you have to write 2 or three paragraphs and reply to your classmate with 2 or 3 paragraphs. She assigns labs where you have to meet with a tutor. If you like to read a lot take this.
This professor did not provide feedback on assignments she stated on the syllabus only the first three essays. She is a tough grader and her prompts are very broad. She assigns a novel but does not tell you up to where you should be reading. On the other hand, I did see an improvement in my writing skills and critical thinking.
Do not take this class this professor is the worst professor ever. I thought she was good, but she is horrible. She does not care if you're sick and she will not explain anything to you. She says that she uses remind to help us, but doesn't send anything at all. DO NOT TAKE HER
WORST PROFESSOR EVER.
She was so bad I wanted to give her a 0 but thats not possible so I give her a 0. On a serious note though, she is so bad, her direction for assignments is not clear, you email her she doesnt answer you. She takes so many points without even giving feed back.
She does not give you any sort of feedback on anything!! She wont tell you whats wrong with your paper therefore you literally can not do anything to improve for the next paper!!! She has zoom hours but she will cancel last minute.
She never gives you any feedback to better your writing. Theres too many writing assignments and little time to do it
She was understanding whenever I had to turn in a paper late due to personal problems, you just have to communicate with her. She makes appointments with her students after essays to give them their grade and point out what you did well and what you have to improve. Tough grader but I learned a lot
I don't know if it was just because it was on zoom, but she was pretty rude and cut people off often. She has very specific ideas she wants for papers but will make the prompts so open-ended that it's easy to get confused. She takes several weeks to grade papers. At least the readings were super accessible.
The prof. has a good knowledge of the subject. The class is never complete. The class usually ends 30-40 minutes before the end time, and to make up class time you have to read a book written and sold by her. Gender-based violence will be discussed throughout the semester. Great topic, but it gets tiring to talk about the same thing all semester.
Be careful when choosing professors, don't just look at "Overall Quality". Because she has 4/5 at this moment, a grade definitely out of reality, actually MORE THAN HALF OF HER CLASS WILL DROPP by the end of the semester. Maybe we can't stop "someone" (wink, wink) from writing many good reviews for Sandoval's benefit, so check out all the reviews.
Prof Sandoval is a nice woman, but her class is heavy. While this is one of her downfalls, I find myself having a way easier time in 1B. Her essays are pretty boring to do since she stuck to one topic the whole semester, but this made writing them a bit easier. An eight-page research paper at the end of the semester.
I dropped the class and I wasn't the only one, more than half of the group dropped it. She has a small classroom (about 20 seats instead of 30), but it seems that at the end of the semester not many people wanted to stay in her class, maybe she needs an even smaller classroom We dropped the class since she is not clear and has a very heavy attitude
She was okay in the beginning of the semester but slowly stopped giving guidance. She cancelled zoom classes in the middle of the year and after that it was like there was no teaching done from her. To add on she isnt the most open to questions and likes to be rude whenever someone doesn't understand. AND on top of that she's a very tough grader.
You pay for the class (which doesn't provide much) and she expects you to learn on your own from a book she sold you. In the end, you will end up learning on your own and paying her twice. She grades you harshly for things that she almost didn't teach you but that you learned on your own.
If you hate yourself, then this class is definitely for you! Worst professor ever, she assigns dozens of essays , grades exceptionally hard, rarely responds to emails, you basically teach yourself and are required to read many different chapter books.
She went over each essay with you to discuss what was good or needed to be worked on. There is some group activities for proofreading/activities. Fairly easy class with lots of time to work on essays and other assignments. She was nice and engaging in class.
For being an English Professor she struggles with clear communication. Her directions are vague but she expects you to understand exactly what she wants. Angry about everything. Over half the class dropped. If you appreciate sanity, avoid the class.
It is unbelievable that she has never given the full class time and still charged the school $50K in overtime. In Just One Year. Without mentioning that she also charges YOU for her book because she doesn't explain anything in class. And economic issues aside, she is very, very rude.
Direct and no-nonsense professor. Treats class like a battlefield. Makes you laugh but condescending. Took hybrid class; 6 total essays, 1 for midterm & 1 for final. 4 were due after drop date, which made it hard to tell if I should drop or not. Hybrid/online = discussion posts, vs in-person = timed in-class essays, so choose what you'd prefer.
Professor Sandoval is the epitome of what a Professor should be. Her teaching style is engaging and she genuinely wants her students to learn. She is easily accessible outside of class and gives AMAZING feedback on each essay. If you read the textbook and listen during class discussion, you will succeed in this class. She made learning exciting.
Worst class ever, very harsh grader, and will expect you to do lab work on top of a 6-page essay due the same week acting like this is the only important class in your schedule.
Class is writing intensive but she prompts you to think; think about what you're reading, what you're writing, etc. Can be generous with assignments and is willing to give feedback where it's needed. She does not appreciate tardiness. Be communicative and she will communicate back.
It seems like she wants to see all of her students succeed but she obviously expects that we do our parts and put in the work to improve. She provides one on one discussions after each essay, it helps me understand what is expected of a good paper. Some prompts could be explained better. Overall very thought provoking and engaging lectures.
Tough grader, will definitely grade you a lot on the little things. She has 1-on-1 feedback with you after each essay (we had 4). Sometimes directions are not clear. Overall, for the amount of work she gives you many of us feel like she did not respect how little time we had and just piled assignments.
If you can keep up with the rapid lectures and show up not even a minute late to class, you should be fine. The problem with her class has more to do with her emotions, rather than her teaching methods. For somebody who spends the entire semester illuminating critical thinking, she seems to disregard those lessons when it comes to her students.
She is not professional, occasionally uses profanity, and goes on political rants. Assignments are set up in orderly fashion, but the papers are also on politics. She was only pleasant when admin was monitoring her for her evaluation. Gets upset when you ask questions and when someone was confused. Very tense environment.
I had an amazing experience with Professor Sandoval. Very enganing teaching style, and gave really good feeback on essays. It wasn't an easy class by any means, but if you put in the work you will get a very stimulating and intellectual learning experience.
Professor Sandoval is strict and expects full commitment to her class. Much of the material is based on her personal views in Sociology, with little room for critical thinking or open discussion. She's quick to call you out if you're even a minute late and told us to cancel all plans near finals. Be prepared for a demanding and rigid environment.
She is a very sweet person and extremely realistic. She understands that students entering college from the failing public school system are at a total disadvantage knowledge wise. She can come across strict or mean, but show you care about learning and she will help you get an A. Only 4 essays for the whole she is very lenient.
