Everyone is correct, she is the easiest teacher, but the fail to mention one thing, shes the easiest class to cheat in. Just go find someone's essay and your set for a EASY A in the class. I know lots of people that do that

I Loved Schultz. She keeps class interesting and engages students in discussions. She doen't just lecture, she wants you to genuinely analyze the information for yourself. Be sure to find out the essay due dates, but if you have any questions on it, she's happy to help you. I highly recommend her.

Professor Schultz is a great professor. She is nice and funny sometimes. However, this class requires 2 papers, each about 10 pages. Do you really wanna deal with that? This class is REALLY NOT HELPFUL anyways. If you ask me, I regret taking the class. This class is WAYYY too overrated.

Great teacher! Very easy optional in-class assignments (only one sentence long), two mandatory papers and an optional test. I got 4/8 on both mandatory papers but completed all the optional assignements and did well on the test and got an A! Recommended for students who are NOT pol sci majors and care even less about the subject.

ok... people who are complaining are either just dumb or lazy. The paper does not have to be 10 pages and it is only two mandatory papers. I am not a very good writer and I was still able to get an "A". Two papers worth 8 pts., 21 pts. total. Optional assignments answers is basically given during lecture. Not that hard to get "A"

Schultz is an excellent instructor. She knows how to keep her students' attention, I think she can sense when students are falling asleep (doesn't help that I took an 8 AM class), but she will wake you RIGHT up with her HILARIOUS, but relevant stories. I didn't have to ask her ONE question, not one, throughout the course cuz she's concise.

I keep reading this on a lot of teachers listings, but Prof. Schultz was by far my best teacher yet in my educational carreer. I loved her class conversations, and just the way she talked. She is a very brilliant human being. She can be a little picky on the papers, but as long as you do what she expects of you, you will be fine. I recommend taking her during the winter or summer because there are less papers you have to deal with. I loved her lectures also. YOu don't have to worry about getting bored.

There is no "agenda". History and govt. structures speak volumes on the orgins of racism and poverty in the U.S...

She is extremely one sided politically. She never gives ALL the information so that I may choose whom I wish to follow.

This teacher is wonderful. There are hardly any students in her class who end up with anything lower than an A. She's gives so many optional assignments to boost your points and they're REALLY easy to do. Definitely take her Scholars class.

(scholars/winter) Easy A. If you took any kind of US hist/gov class in highschool, you know most of the material. If not then don't worry the material is straight forward and she makes sure you understand. She's got an odd grading system that makes it much easier to get an A. U can FAIL a term paper and still make an A as long as you do them.

Ok. A LOT of people on here say "easy A, easy A!" Right!It depends on what u call easy!She is funny, she has interesting stories,& man can she teach. As far as the comments on her go, it's all fair. She's a great teacher, and to me personally, the class wasn't too hard. But it must be noted, Schultz is a looker. No one mentions it, but she is intelligent, and really hot.

Great lectures. Very clear and straightforward. With her, its not about memoriaztion so class is easy. She works through all assignments and essays in lectures, giving all answers, so you pretty much can A on all work. So many extra credit points to be earned. There's no way you can get an A.

This professor is very easy. All optional assignments except for two main papers. I did horrible on those two papers and I did and got points on every assignments and I passed it with a B. In the beginning she scared us all by saying stuff, but then it wasn't hard at all. I rest my case...

I like the grading scale, different from most classes. Schultz is nice and funny and the optional assignments are easy. Papers can be annoying to do, but not too hard. There is only 2. I got an A and I don't have to go back to class for the last two weeks.

Schultz is a great speaker, and she has legs to die for JK! She makes the class go so fast! Shes not easy when it comes to research papers, shes gets down tooth and nail. Other than that a pretty easy-going, laid-back professor, qoutes are always everything in a research paper, wish I could've found enough qoutes not to get a D on the paper >.<

She gives lots of optional assignments that can gain you some points here and there, and there are two papers to write. Do the optional assigments/the 2 essays and you'll be fine. Just go to her office hours for the essay, ask her a question, then mention everything she says in your paper, go w/ a couple friends so each can ask a question. Easy scholars credit, plus schultz is an awesome teacher with crazy stories. Just do what she tells you to and you'l get an A.l

Scholars summer section. There's absolutely no reason for any student to get less than an A in this class. That being said, though it looks super easy on paper, students should show up to class although its not mandatory and follow the guidelines for papers. They're given very clearly in class and some did not follow them correctly and suffered.

she is very funny, very clear, you haev to do critical thinking. there are only two papers you need to do. no tests, no need to memorize useless info. MUST be able to write long research paper and then you get good grade. she is funny, she is very helpful, and she is also very pretty.

Im a philosophy major with a 2.9 gpa. I thought her lectures were very capitaving and well-structured. I got an 8/8 on both mandatory papers and only missed a few of the inclass optional assignments. I got my A and didn't have to come back for the last 2 weeks. Great class, you can get an A, and youll actually learn something too. Good Balance.

Ok I just dropped her class and I feel sad. I really wanted to stay but I cant stand to wake up at 5 to attend her class at 8. With that being said she is a great teacher. One of the best lecturer at SMC so far. Summer session = 2 essays and optional HW. I only had her for a week and I can tell she is a fantastic teacher. I am sadden I can't stay.

She was an amazing teacher. She never takes role but attendance is necessary because the in class assignments can be the difference between an A and B. The final is optional if you want more points. You learn a lot. Def. use the textbooks in the papers! She is a tough grader on the papers but if you read and quote all the books you should get an A.

Amazing, amazing professor. Perfectly clear and knows what she's talking about. She tells great stories to get her point across. Essays are a little difficult and require the textbooks but DO THE OPTIONAL ASSIGNMENTS and you'll be fine. She's always there to help as well.

Pretty easy class; the only hard part was the 2nd paper. I really reccomend using the books that are on reserve since the textbooks get new editions every semester (not lying)- you'll only need em twice. And I never actually DID the reading. Just make sure you do well enough on the papers.

Extremely easy, if you want an easy A. Prof Schultz is your primary choice. There is no other prof in SMC easier than her. First you need 23 to get an A. Over time you only need 21. You need to know how to write good paper. Then you don't have to do the final. Easiest A ever

Summer 2010. Not only is she incredibly easy, but she's a good teacher as well. I walked away from this class with a much better understanding of the subject.

Schultz is a great prof. For those of you who want to learn how the government operates rather than just getting a grade, take her. She's not about giving multiple choice exams or memorizing useless dates and information. She gives you the facts of who, where, when and how power operates, then you have to choose of the given thesis an prove it.

WINTER 2011, Great professor. She really wants students to do well. You will learn tons in this class and will do great if you just follow directions! She basically tells you what to write through her lectures. If you follow directions, the lowest you can get is a B. An 'A' grade is very maintainable. Just do well on your two papers ;)

She takes her time for everyone to understand. class is made up of 2 papers, which you have to do a lot of text research on, as well as one sentence assignment at the end of class. if you're good at research and writing papers, you'll do fine. easy for scholars students

The class consists of 2 papers, optional assignments, and an optional final. Sounds easy, but she is a VERY hard grader on the essays, so reading ALL of the texts is reccomended. She gives you opportunites to pass the class with a fair grade if you bomb the essays. Very interesting, impossible to fall asleep to.

This class is eye opening and professor Schultz is delightful. She changed the way I look at government and enlightened me. Her class consists of a friendly environment, she's funny, and she cuts out all the bull, gets straight to the point. you cannot leave SMC without first taking her class! She is absolutely amazing. The class mainly consists of 2 papers. Don't be discouraged if you don't do so well on the first. Attendance is not important to her, but I highly recommend you attend everyday. Optional assignment given at the end of class can really help you out.

This class was wonderful. Dr.Schultz's class is entertaining and the material is interesting. Political Science majors should definitely talk to her outside of class. She's a good connection, and truly knows her stuff.

Professor Schultz's method of teaching gives you the opportunity to see and think about the world of politics on your own. She provides you with what you need to understand politics. She doesn't fill your head with any of her own views, she is unbiased, and has great intentions. Loved her class and I look at politics entirely different now.

Most amazing teacher I have ever had. Has amazing stories to go along with her lecture and makes it fun!! TAKE HER CLASS!!! You will not regret it. Seriously, take it take it take it. I can't tell you how much I enjoyed it. Once you get an A in the class you don't have to go back.

GREAT professor. Class consists of 2 papers, optional assignments, and an optional final. Do all of the optional assignments and do well on the 2 papers and you will get an A in the course. You need 23 points to get an A but she lowered that to 22 points near the end of the semester

OUTSTANDING professor! Her class should be a requirement if you go to SMC! Great lectures and stories. You'll learn more than you ever thought. She's very helpful, so don't hesitate to approach her especially if you need help with the essays. Be sure to read the textbooks throughout the semester and show up to class.

Hilariously funny professor with lectures as clear as the nicest afternoons in Santa Monica. Assumes you do not and never will retain an interest for political science and thus makes the course as painless as possible for those of us less inclined towards this unsavory field of study. Relatively easy if you are a slightly-above-average writer.

the nicest, best, funniest, and most passionate and informative teacher ever! she loves her job and it shows! shes also highly intelligent and speaks in a way that reflects just that. if she ever ran for government, i would vote for her cause she speaks so well!! she tells great stories in class and is just overall amazing and understanding.

SOOOO FUNNY! i loved her! shes hilarious and so imformative! she mixes her lectures with stories so you do not even realize you are learning until the midterm paper comes up and you realize you know it all! kind of boring if you have no interest like me, but very easy class. just 2 papers.

Easy class! Just two essays, however I was and am not interested in poli sci and found it extremely boring even though professor schultz is extremely humorous!!! Her funny stories and humor are the only things that kept me awake in class otherwise I fell asleep. Only need the books for the essays and do good on those! One extra credit test.

There needs to be more professor like this. From the day 1 to the end, she is crystal clear about everything. She changed my perspectives on poli sci. Her lectures are amazing&fun. No tests, you are graded based on just two essays, which you will have no problem writing if you were paying attention to the lectures. Recommended&would take again.

Professor Schultz is probably the best SMC professor I've ever had. She is extremely clear with her material, and presents the class in such a fun and interesting way. I wish she taught more classes so I could take her again. Definitely recommend!!!!

Such an Easy class. 2 essays and optional test and hw, however i would recommend doing them anyways. She is such a nice lady, if you need a scholars class then u should take her!

The most amazing teacher ever. Two essays and she gave you everything you need to get an A on it. Need to put some effort in it but truly amazing class.

I love Schultz, I needed one extra point in the class and she helped me out. She is so sweet, and her stories are just so funny. She takes teaching to a whole nother level. I would take her class again anyday. Easy A, do all the assignments and do well on the paper. Its a point based class.

Just do all the reading and optional assignments and you'll be fine.

Professor Schultz is awesome! She is the most straight-forward instructor I have ever experienced, and her teaching style is profound... I wish I was majoring in a subject that she teaches more of, but I'm a science major. Basically just Try in this class and you'll do well, and if you go the extra mile you'll finish early.

Prof Schultz will work with you as much as you need! Her grading is very clear; she lays out the two biggest assignments for you so it is a breeze. The optional assignments are one sentence long and super helpful with your grade. The texts are really only needed for sourcing, reading does not matter in this course, although she does assign a lot.

TAKE HER!!! Two papers, clearly explained. She tells you exactly what you need in the paper, 90% is in the lecture, so TAKE NOTES. Only one optional test as a final IF you need it. I didn't take it and I got an A! 29 points possible in total, only need 22 for an A. DON'T SKIP CLASS. All assignments are IN CLASS for points, can't make them up.

Excellent teacher, tells you exactly what you need to know to make an A. Follow her outlines for both papers, use her books to source facts and follow everything she tells you and you will receive an A.

i took her scholars course. Professor Schultz is one of professor that you will fall in love with. even though i dont like political science i loved her class. she gives you extra credit in her class; you just have to attend the class and listen carefully to her. gives you only two essays! listen to her and you easily can get an A.

I have never had a class I enjoyed so much. I wasn't that interested in political science but she makes the topic so interesting. I had no idea about the government but her scholars class answered a lot of questions for me. She is really a helpful and offers to review you essay before you turn it in to get full credit. She is hilarious!!

Emphasis is on 2 mandatory papers so choose ur system of govt wisely! I got 3/8 on 1st and 8/8 on 2nd after she gave some very constructive and necessary feedback. U can email her your draft and she'll reply with recommendations ASAP. She's very sharp and direct but cares about her students. Im a PoliSci major and very satisfied with this class.

She is amazing! I took her class three years ago and I still remember her great lectures. I even saved my research paper from the class because she wrote very nice notes on it :) Take her class, you will never regret it. You will learn a lot and enjoy it at the same time.

Amazing professor. She is really funny, nice and very knowledgeable of what she teaches. Take her you wont regret it. A lot of extra credit and its based of 2 papers, show up and listen and you will pass and learn a lot. Probably one of my most favorite professor ever.

Schultz is by far my favorite professor as SMC. I am not a poli sci person at all, but for the first time I enjoyed learning about it because of her interesting lectures that connects the dots for you. Her papers are long and tough but they make you truly learn and there's only 2 of them. Her grading is very clear and the final is optional.

Professor Schultz is truly one of the best teachers at SMC. She gets straight to the point and does not and will not waste your time or hers. The class in the short session consists of 4-6 short and super easy assignments and 2 crucial essays. She gives clear guidelines of what she wants on the essays.

Breeze if you are a good writer. If you are a good writer and know what is going on around the world, you don't need this class. No need to buy books in advance. She'll tell you what you need and you got plenty of time.

She doesn't care if you show up, but if you don't show up it'll be much harder to write good papers. You will need to get quotes from the three books you have to get for the papers, so make sure to get them or borrow them. Her lectures are hilarious and very informative. If you just try, you should get an A.

Shes a really goood professor. Such a nice lady and is very easy to understand. She doesnt care if you come to class, but it will he really hard to write the papers if you dont. I found the 2 papers we had to write very diffiult. Do not wait until the last minute to do them! She has a good system for point opportunity though, so do the work!!

I knew nothing about American politics a month ago but thanks to Dr Schultz for her amazing lectures. This class is very interesting. 2 papers( one in class but you can prepare and bring your draft and other one to be turned in) and an optional exam to boost your grade. We used 3 books and watched a few films to get our sources.

Shes an amazing teacher with amazing lectures. I made the mistake of taking her class as a joke and almost got a B bc of it. Take her seriously and work hard on the papers. If you are taking this for scholars and an easy A class its not the class for you. Be ready to work hard on your two essays. Reccomend for poly sci majors only.

Pros: She's very intelligent, sharp and witty--she does a very good job at keeping you interested in the material. Her anecdotes about her past classes at SMC & UCLA and interviewing congressmen in Washington are really funny. Cons: As head of the department, she's REALLY busy. Her office hours feel rushed. Too many documentaries in class.

There are 2 papers each graded between 0-8 points. She'll tell you exactly what she wants to see in each of them. You'll need to source all 3 textbooks to do well on the papers. You also get points by doing optional assignments she gives out during class, so I wound't miss a class if I didn't have to. Her lectures are engaging and to the point.

Schultz is the absolute best! Her lectures are engaging, easy to follow, and she genuinely makes the content interesting because she's so casual. She's extremely intelligent, unbiased, and understanding. You have to show up to her lectures to understand the class. Hands down best prof I've ever taken. Her lectures are so informative, and she's so intelligent and passionate and accomplished in her field. Stories are relevant and inspirational. Also, most clear prof I ever had. Class is an ez A if you're willing to put in the work. She's willing to help you to ensure you get A on both papers.

She creates interesting lectures and has clear grading criteria. This is a class where you'll learn a lot of information that you'll carry with you to other classes and real-world application. Her essays are the focus of the class so the best tip is to go to the Writing Center to have your work proofread or peer reviewed before submission.

The class is heavily based on two papers. She gives one test opportunity to really help your grade if you need it. She makes the class as interesting as possible with her stories and gives flexibility on what you want to write about. She also looks to help her students as much as possible with anything at all. Just be sure to read the textbooks.

I took professor Schultz's Scholars class online and it wasn't what the recent reviews make her out to be. You get extra credit opportunities every day, with the only two assignments being a midterm writing assignment and a final writing assignment. I didn't even need to do the final writing assignment thanks to the E.C. You get what you put in.

I took Professor Schulze's online Poli-Sci 1 course during the condensed winter session. Because there isn't much homework, you really need to pay attention to how she grades what you turn in. If you use her feedback and improve your work, she will make sure you get a good grade. She's very kind, just very specific with what she wants from you.

I absolutely LOVE Professor Schultz. I took her winter Poli Sci 1 class. Her lectures were so fun to read, made learning about poli sci very fun for me. Her assignments were straightforward and easy to understand, if there was something I was confused about, I emailed her and she responded very quickly and clarified anything I didn't understand.

Professor Schultz is absolutely incredible! She does tend to have a dry or direct sense of humor which may rub people the wrong way; but she's extremely kind, very helpful, very dedicated to seeing you succeed, easily accessible, and very good at clarifying when you're struggling. Her lectures are hilarious, and her curriculum is wonderful!

Professor Schultz is Amazing! I usually don't put reviews, but after taking her Poli Sci 1 class, I had to share how incredible she is in what she does. If you do the work and always be consistent and check her feedbacks, you will easily get an A. She is also very accessible outside of class like she will answer you in 2 minutes.

She is a very caring professor who always give feedback. Definitely do the optional assignments as they help build your essay and always look at her feedback. This class is super manageable and as long as you do the work and the readings you will be fine. She may be harsh on the gradings at times but it's all to get you to understand the material.

Only 2 required assignments for the entire semester. Comes out to like 15 page essays each. Optional extra credit weekly. Do the EC not only for the points but for feedback. Feedback is used for the essays so definetely helps. Join zooms to ask questions and you'll get an A.

Professor Schultz's lectures are incredibly digestible and the course is framed in a way that is more similar to a UC school than a community college. Her feedback was consistently warm and helpful, and I could not have asked for a better intro to the realm of political science. It ended up building a strong foundation that I still refer back to.

This class had me ready to pull my hair out at the start, but I am so glad I stuck to it. Prof Schultz is VERY direct and does not skimp on expectation. Honestly, it felt like I was taking a class at a four year, and not a community college. Short deadlines, hard work. I came out a better writer and I feel better prepared for transfer. Take her.

Overall great Prof for the scholars polsci1. Homework is graded harshly with even a little mistake costing you all the points. Stick with her and you will come to find that the actual papers are graded fairly and you will know what to do by referring to her homework feedback. Make sure to have a strong reading and writing background. Hard for ESL.
