Good teacher! The subject matter is tough (not her fault), but she gives detailed notes and quizzes that are quite helpful. The tests aren't open note, but she does give a list of some helpful (but not always) words. Tests are mult. choice, short answer, and many of those annoying fill-in-blanks.
very enthusiastic teacher. her positive attitude towards the general ana&physio subject will get you likin' it too. =P the course subject is difficult/it isn't an easy subject to begin with. but she has/had her lecture notes, TYPED; all on paper, and she's happy to answer and clarify any confusion
BEST TEACHER EVER. Honestly one of best prof's I have ever had. Hard class, great instruction, clarity, & information. Tests are of knowledge recall, but she makes it so fun and interesting it lessons the pain. Low stress learning environment allowed actual learning. Highly recommend!!
The class is really straight forward and Strandgaard is really helpful and wants all of her students to do well and tries to help them in any way possible.
She was helpful in every way. She made learning such a hard subject fun and interesting. I learned more in lab with her than in my lecture. She also has a great personality and it is very to approach her with problems and questions. I strongly suggest you take any of her classes!!!
Excellent teacher. Made learning difficult subject matter easy to follow and understand. I learned so much is this class due to her teaching style. Highly recommend!
Awesome, awesome, awesome.... a lot of tough information, but very straightforward... if you have to choose between any one else and her, choose her... seriously, adjust your schedule, do whatever, she rocks!
Strandgaard is one of THE BEST teachers i've ever had. Very approachable, always positive, always willing to help, and very fair grader. I recommend her to everyone!!
Awesome teacher, like all the other comments put down, I highly recommed her as a teacher to take anatomy from. She is the best teacher I have had at Sac State and I had been here for 3 years.
She really is awesome...and really understanding!
AWESOME pretty much sums it up! she is very fair and very helpful.. BIo.25 isnt an easy class and you can't expect it to be ...but u can expect it to be alot more interesting if you take it with strangaard. She doesnt offer homework unless its a 'bedtime' reading... or extra credit projects..which only benefit YOU if you do them. TAKE Her.
Coolest lady ever
She is a great teacher but make sure you attend all the classes of you will get lost. She moves pretty fast over the material. I would recommend her shes very helpful and just overall a good teacher to have

EXCELLENT teacher!!! Very Helpful!! Attendance is a must because what is said them is what the exams are based on!!! Her notes are the most useful!! Studying in advance is the only way to pass!! Lots of info!
i recommend her 100% to anyone who needs this class. its not easy but she makes it so clear. come to class everyday and she will tell you some stuff that will be on the test. she will do everything in her power to help you out during office hours and during lec or lab. a little studying everyday is a good idea.
If you need to take Bio 25 she is by far the best teacher for it. This class is overwhelming, but it definitely helps to have a teacher like Dr. Strandgaard. She's really helpful, and will do anything in her power to help you understand the material. She's awesome!
Standgaard is one of the sweetest teachers I've ever had. She's very helpful and knowledgeable about the subject. Attendance is not required and she provide you the notes that she goes over in class. Class consists of 4 exams, all multiple choice (hard if you don't study). She also gives PLENTY of extra credit opportunities. Take her!
Great professor definitely would recommend her. She teaches a tough class but she does a great job. Great personality. Study and you should do fine.
Take her, best professor on campus!
The nicest woman ever! Class has A TON of info so that's why it is hard it's a lot to take in. I have never had to study so much for one class but it's interesting. If you try hard she will go out of her way to help you. Knows the material and is very knowledgeable. I would recommend taking her lab as well as lecture.
LOVE this prof! You work your BUTT off because it's A&P but she is so helpful. Gives lots of visuals and examples and a ton of extra credit. Always helpful and explains things really well. Take her if you possibly can!
My favorite professor!!! Had her for two consecutive semesters and it was awesome...she is extremely clear on what will be in the exams...she is also very helpful during office hours and gives extra credit!!!
Best teacher at CSUS! There is a ton of information to learn however she is extremely helpful and willing to answer any question without making you feel dumb. This is a tough subject but she really gives you the tools to do well. I recommend taking her if you have the chance.
the sweetest person. Hard class. Study everyday do the extra credit assignments
Anatomy is hard. But Straandgard is the best professor to make is as easy and straight forward as possible, always helps students. Crystal clear lectures straight forward tests.
BEST BIO TEACHER.EVER. Her lectures are very easy to understand and class is really fun to attend. You do have to put in a lot of effort to get a good grade. Give a lot of extra credits!
Awesome professor. Makes bio really fun for students. offer a lot of extra credits. Really nice and helpful!
FAVORITE PROF! strandgaard is pretty straight forward when it comes to teaching and makes learning anatomy&physio fun. always cheerful and willing to help her students succeed! i loved taking this class, but it's def not easy. what you put into it is what you get out of it.
Words cannot describe how wonderful Dr. Strangaard is. She makes a hard subject easy to understand; extremely helpful, friendly, and welcoming. Her lecture includes 4 very fair, but challenging exams, and a few extra credit opportunities. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED professor!
Took Bio25 with Strandgaard and took her again for Bio26. She is amazing! Always willing to help her students and make you feel important.
As most have said already, Strandgaard is AMAZING. One of the best instructors I've had at CSUS. Take her above anyone else!
Best bio professor ever! Makes anatomy and physio easy to understand and does her best to help students succeed in both lab and lecture.
Prof. Strandgaard is seriously one of the best professors out there. She is so willing to help, and she really knows her stuff. I think she is pretty funny and really a great person. The class isn't easy, but if you study like she says how to, you will get great results.
Dr. Strandgaard is def. worth taking! I have her for lab this semester which I definitely won't regret. Her lab exams are all written answers (but VERY straight forward! -- easy as well), which I was hesitant about but if you TRULY study at least 2 hours a day for this lab then you definitely get an A. I'm looking forward to take her for bio 26!
Great person, great teacher. Lab exams are fill in but if you go over the study guide she gives, you'll have no problem. Make sure to do all the extra credit assignment she gives! There are numerous 1-3pt extra credit opportunites but they all definitely add up. Lecture attendance not mandatory but she does take lab attendance.
Great professor!! She knows the material well. Always ask questions if your not sure about something. Visit her during office hours, she will provide you with additional worksheets and material if you ask. Lectures are organized and clear. Personally I recommend reading the book, it makes a lot more sense. Easy A if you know the stuff inside out. No surprises on the exam.
LOVE THIS TEACHER! She provides lecture notes for you which makes class much better because you don't leave with a sore wrist. She explains things in a way thats easy to understand her exams are very straight forward. Also gives lots of extra credit so an A is definitely possible. Yes the subject is hard but she makes it as easy as it can be.
Awesome professor! Man, if only every professor had the a lecture manual like she did, every class would have been so much easier and better to understand. Fair exams, all you have to do is go to lecture, take notes on top of her lecture notes, and study that lecture manual. Easy as 1,2,3. Also teaches her subject amazingly!
TAKER HER IF YOU CAN. She is an amazing professor and really cares about her students. She provides lecture and lab supplements which is extremely helpful. Her tests are fair- you really have to stay on top of the class in order to get a good grade.
She is nice, offers EXTRA CREDIT, any BIO class is hard, but keep up with her notes and readings and you will do fine, miss class you will miss a lot because everything she says in class or gives out hand outs ARE ON HER TEST!
The best biology professor at Sac State by Far! She cares about her students. She is willing to help! She is very clear in her assignments and directions. Her lectures are not boring and will keep you awake at 7:30 a.m! She is a great Professor. I highly recommend her to everyone! I will take her again! The lecture exams are difficult so study hard!
By far the best professor I've had at Sac State. She is so nice!! She tells you exactly what you need to pass the exams in class. And she gives out so many extra credit opportunities to help students boost their grades. Her exams are very straightforward!! I highly recommend her. I passed the class with an A.
Took this class my junior yr. She is super easy going and enthusiastic. Loves her work and is willing to help anyone who asks. go to class, take notes, read the book. One midterm and final. There are also posters and worksheets that are required, but they help you study.
Best professor ever!! She always asks if we have ???, is approachable, gives plenty of e.c. assignments(do them), is fun & excited about Bio, she gets back to e-mails on time. Do the hand-outs and go to class for notes and study all the material she tells you to, it is all pertinent to the exams. Listen to what she says in class, it's ALL worth it.
She is great, shes not hard the class is hard, alot of info, miss a class you miss a lot and extra credit oportunities, dont be late, she will help you in everything, she has helped me with personal issues shes a great teacher & person. RECORD THE LECTURES! IT REALLY HELPS! READ THE BOOK. she makes the lecture note book b4 semester starts
She is the best professor I've ever had. She is so enthusiastic, fun, and she genuinely cares about all students. She sets us up to succeed with her own lecture notes, concept reviews, and extra credit assignments. I have received high A's in both Bio25 and 26. Wonderful woman and teacher, I will genuinely miss her and her class.
Attendance was not mandatory but you'll be doomed if you miss a lecture. She is by far my most favorite professor!! So nice, tons of extra credit. Definitely was not easy by any means; busted my butt for an A. Study groups are highly recommended.
Such a good teacher!! She always made class enjoyable and is very clear about what she wants you to know. Easy class if you study and pay attention
She is the BEST Anatomy and Physiology teacher. She is very helpful and explains the material very well. She gives a lot of extra credit. All you have to do is posters and take notes, and you get extra credit for them. The lecture notes will be your friend. She likes to draw flow charts often which makes studying easier. Exams are multiple choice.
"Requires" book + lecture notes... but if you record lectures and really pay attention you could get away with not buying the textbook and only the lecture notes. You must study to get an A, and there is a lot of extra credit. Amazing teacher, enthusiastic, helpful, you will learn alot.
AWESOME PROFESSOR!
Dr. Strandgaard is awesome! Best professor at Sac State. Definitely not easy and you must put in tons of hours, but she teaches material in a clear manner and will help anyone who goes to office hours. She is very nice and genuinely cares about her students.
By far, best Prof ever. Absolutely amazing. She wants to see her students succeed. Definitely take her for lecture AND lab! Her tests are hard but if you study you will be well prepared. Lab is easier than lecture. Offers some EC for minimal points but they do add up at the end of the semester. Definitely would love to take her again
Dr.Strandgaard is soooo awesome! She makes the class fun and interesting. She was my motivator to study more. You will do well if you study, at least read over the notes everyday and it will be a huge help for you. For lab, I took unlabeled pictures, and labeled them over and over again. I ended up getting a good grade. If you have a question, ask!
She's the best BIO 25/26 prof in CSUS. She's very helpful and so enthusiastic about the subject. Her exams are basically everything she lectures about nothing tricky so study each section thoroughly and you should do well. This was the class that pushed me to find an effective way of studying for science: CONCEPT MAPS. Do them! No excuses!
Amazing professor. Lectures are CLEAR & EASY TO FOLLOW despite the amount of material covered just GO TO CLASS. Welcoming to questions, never dismisses a question & always answers thoroughly. Lots of extra credit opportunities; only worth a few points but if you're sitting on a borderline grade, well worth the extra effort. Definitely recommend her
Dr. Strandgaard is the most amazing professor that I have taken! Her lectures are fun and interesting. The material itself is very difficult but with her it's totally doable. You will have to take the time to study and work for your grade but she does everything to help you out, and will always be there to help if you're struggling. The best prof.
Dr. Strandgaard is a gem of the CSUS bio department. She is a HUGE endocrinology nerd and bio nerd in general, and she has a magical way of making you love the subject as much as she does. You will learn systemic physiology quite well if you take this class. Her tests are pretty easy if you make sure you understand the big picture going in.
Prepare to spend most of your time and energy into this class if you want a decent grade. Although Dr. S tries to simplify complex concepts, the class itself is overall very rigorous and tough. She replies to emails within hours, encourages to seek help if needed, and answers all questions. Amazing professor, but very difficult course.
Amazing professor! But you must read and study or you wont do well. Very straight forward exams. Amazing woman, so nice to talk to. Gives fantastic lecture notes.
Dr. McDonald is AMAZING! She is definitely one of the best instructors I've ever had. Her teaching style requires that you actively participate and do homework prior to lecture, but it really is to her student's advantages. Tests are straight forward but studying is a must. I would take this class again.
Most amazing teacher I have had thus far at Sac State. Cares for her students and will do anything to help them to succeed. She gives amazing lecture notes that highlight everything she says in lecture. You will need to work HARD to get a good grade, however she gives a fair amount of extra credit. Work hard, go to class and you will do well.
This professor is AMAZING. Your grade is mainly based on four exams; however, she is great about giving EC assignments. Don't be discouraged if they are only a couple points -- they add up and help you study! :) If you go to class, write downhighlight EVERYTHING she tells you to, & rewrite notesstudy after EVERY lecture, you will do well! :)
I absolutely loved this class and will miss this professor! She is extremely enthusiastic about physiology, and is always willing to help during her office hours, and through email (she responds quickly). She gives extra credit, which helps a lot. It's not an easy A, but it is definitely very possible. Oh, and do the concept reviews!
She is absolutely phenomenal. So sweet and heart warming. Makes tough subjects simple to understand if you pay attention.
One of THE best professors I have ever come across. She is SO nice and very helpful. She is the time of professor that if you are struggling or having a hard time she is always there for you and will help you. So thankful to have her as my advisor now. I would be lost without her.
Physic has a lot of material and is very conceptual. Dr. Strandgaard is nice and approachable and will help you if you have questions. However, her lectures can get disorganized and long. I need to listen to her lectures to semi understand her. The only points you can get is from the 3 tests. No quizzes or homework and a couple small extra credit.
Only if this school had more of Dr. Strandgaard, and less of mediocre professors. She is absolutely wonderful! A&P II is a difficult subject; however, Dr. Strandgaard teaching style helps students retain the information in a simplistic form. Exams are straight forward, as long as you understand the functions and NOT by just memorizing terms. Enjoy!
I love Dr. Strandgaard! So much material in this class but she drills the information in you. DEFINITELY go to her office hours, she'll even help you after her office hours. I hear nothing but great things about Dr. Strandgaard so you'll love her in any of her classes.
you need to stay on top of all your readings and make sure to study. Her exams apply all the material that you have learned. So memorizing vocab words will not help you, make sure you understand the material and how all systems work together
Awesome professor! Her exams are very straight forward. The concept reviews and practice exam questions she gives out are verbatim on the exam, do them! She gives out a lot of extra credit opportunities so take advantage of all of them. Class is very manageable, I crammed for all the exams and still ended up doing well. Go to class, study, excel!
Fantastic professor, classes were difficult as expected but she gives extra credit opportunities. Has a soft spot for her nursing students. Be that student who talks and connect with her it'll get you a long way. She got me a job on campus as a tutor after 26. Interesting lectures, cool professor, super nice, gives you lecture notes.
Such a great professor; she is hilarious and super nice! Her way of teaching really allows you to understand the material. Do all the concept reviews and make sure to study hard because it is not an easy class. The concept reviews have the major keys for each section so make sure you really have those down. Offers extra credit too!
Strandgaard was amazing! BIO 26 is a difficult class, however, getting an A is possible, especially with Strandgaard. her lectures are amazing and recording them helps a lot. gives extra credit and is easy to approach. do concept reviews and the handouts that she gives. love her!
Strandgaard was by far one of the greatest professors I have ever had. At first, purchasing lecture notes seems overwhelming, but it becomes your study guide and your best friend throughout the semester. Her lectures are clear and everyone can tell how passionate and knowledgeable she is. Content may be a lot, but she made it so easy and fun.
It's Bio 26 it's not easy however she is a great professor and very approachable. I recorded every lecture and rewrote notes to study for exams it really helped. Lecture exams(4) are 65% of your grade and lab exams(3) 35% nothing else, she does assign E.C. which you should take advantage of. If you really want to learn the info take her!
Straightforward lectures and exams. Exams are based off of lecture material. Exams make up most of your grade in the class, but there are a few small assignments and an extra credit opportunity at the end of the semester. Very approachable. Loved her teaching style. Loved the class.
If you need an A in this class, AVOID this professor!!!!
She is the best professor I have ever had. I love her! Not only is she a excellent teacher but also a very good adviser. She will go out of her way to help you. You can tell that she really does want you to succeed and if your a okay student and you come to class and listen to her lecture you will do great. DONT need textbook.
Dr. Strandgaard is an amazing professor!!! Sometimes, I wish that she could teach all of my classes. For this class, the best advice I would give is read book and do workbook before each class and it will be easier to absorb her lectures. She is really caring too. I saw how caring and kind she was to two students who got worried about life&grades.
Dr. S is by far one of the best A&P prof I have EVER had. She is so clear with what she wants, and is very approachable. This class is tough but, with such an awesome professor, she will make this class very interesting. She has 4 tests, last one is open notes, and she gives a few extra credit, so don't rely on that too much.
Professor Strandgaard is one of the best professors I have ever taken. Make sure to read the textbook and do the workbook problems before class and everything she lectures about will make more sense. She is very approachable and has a good heart. She teaches the subject very well and don't be afraid to ask questions. By far the best professor.
Really solid teacher, kind of pushy with students but lectures are helpful so attend, 4 tests and a good amount of extra credit teaches really well but at the end has to rush the concepts a lot but last test was open note, overall solid choice
She's a wonderful professor! She explains concepts clearly and wants her students to succeed. The most important thing one must do to earn an A in this course is to understand the material the same day it is being presented. It is possible to do very well on her exams by studying the day before. Her lectures are very clear and straightforward.
Amazing Professor, loved her so much! She cares so much about her students and has so much compassion when teaching. This class is NOT an easy A, so do not expect to slack off and get a good grade. 4 Exams and some extra credits basically. Attend the lectures if you want an A! Goes through lecture fast, but she clarifies a lot. Best prof for this!
Dr. Strandgaard is probably the best science based lecturer I've ever had. She makes sure that her class understands the material by visual, auditory, and through reading and writing. She gives plenty of extra credit on her unit tests as well as assignments throughout the class. I wish she taught all of my classes!
Dr. Strandgaard is an amazing professor. She is understanding of the student and will help you understand the materials that you are confused about. Bio 133 itself is a difficult and challenging course, so be prepared to read and work on the workbook before coming to class! Her tests is similar to the wkbk, lecture, and wkshts she pass out in class
She's great, love her! Super passionate and knowledgeable. Encourages students to interact with her and get help if needed; She wants students to pass. Only used her notes to study, not online textbook. Gives a ton of extra credit because grades are based almost entirely on lecture tests. Read lecture notes before class and do concept reviews.
I adore her! But if you struggled with Bio 25, good luck. You have to come to this class or you will miss out on info, but she gives you chances to up your grade with extra credit. Do ALL of them, it will help your grade in the end. She is so passionate and really cares about her students. Just stay on top of this class and you will be fine!
If you need an A in this class, don't take it. I don't know why there are so many good reviews for this professor, the class was difficult! It is manageable but she doesn't have any powerpoints or anything - she just talks and uses the overhead projector to show and/or draw images to help students understand. Take an easier professor, trust me!
This class seemed easy at first, b/c lecture notes are provided & you just have to listen and take your own notes if you want as she talks. However, you really have to make an effort to pay attention in class, go to office hours, make study groups, and truly devote yourself into this course. It is so much work. You need to know ur stuff from bio25
This was one of the hardest classes I ever took in my life omg! This class was too much work. Learning most of the material is done by self-study. She seems caring and all but she only goes over the jiss of things during lecture. Everything else requires reading, tons of memorization, and timeee. I recommend u take Eder or some other prof at sac
Im smart but this class was hard as a smart person. Do the ec & pick a good lab prof. I had Prof. Kammer & she the worst - inexperienced, could not lecture, didn't even look professional, & was just plain monotone. Both Strandgaard & Kammer only liked u if u appeared smart. Strandgaard would always say "there's no hope" if u didnt study ahead.
Great professor, takes her time for any questions and explains everything really well makes sure that you really understand before going on which is amazing when you come out of lecture you are more educated rather then even more confused than you already were, would defiantly take her classes in the future.
Dr. Strandgaard is clear, organized, and approachable. She provides everything you need for the class, and it will be on you to pass. If you don't come to class and pay attention then you won't pass; simple as that. I suggest recording her lecture, sitting up front to avoid distraction, and forming study groups. No homework, 10 pt. EC, and 4 exams.
People who don't do well in this class are probably not doing their part. This prof IS EVERYTHING. She will explain complicated concepts in a matter of seconds, and it's clear enough for everyone to understand. A&P is challenging, but she makes it enjoyable. I couldn't have asked for a better professor. COME TO CLASS, and PAY ATTENTION.
Strandgaard cares about the students and is very passionate about what she teaches. She strives to teach you all the why's and how's that you've ever wanted to know about the human anatomy. She is very well respected and encourages students to ask questions. Do your part and you are guaranteed to enjoy this course.
4 exams, lots of EC! She was such a clear professor and made physiology so easy. No pwrpoints, she takes notes with you which is beneficial in physio. Shes caring, but sometimes if you dont understand something or ask her a question she thinks you should know shell look a little irritated as if you wasted her time. Overall solid choice
Dr. Strandgaard is one of the best professors I have ever had! She is enthusiastic, uses concise diagrams/charts, and encourages the students to ask questions to ensure that everyone gets the material. Since it's A&P material, it's on you to study yourself for the A, but she cares about your success and guides you to make sure you know it.
Dr. Strandgaard is one of the best professors I've ever had. She cares about her students but expects them to put in the work. She really wants all of her students to understand the material. She handwrites all of her notes, so don't miss class unless you can get notes and audio recordings from someone else.
Dr. Strandgaard is an amazing professor. Very nice and accessible outside of class! Although this class is very test heavy, there are multiple opportunties to receive extra credit throughout the semester. She does give out study guides, which really help guide studying. There is a lot of information to be memorized and learned so prepare to study!
This was a great class and Dr Strandgaard is an amazing professor. It isn't easy and you must study throughout, not just the night before the exam. There is so much material you have to keep up. You absolutely cannot miss class, there are no powerpoints to reference if you miss lecture. There are study guides as you go and extra credit.
Idc what anyone says this class was hard. She's nice and all but I don't like the way she teaches. Maybe it's everyone else's thing but I just cannot have written notes in front of me & listen to her lecture. Idk I just couldn't pay attention. Everyone who I've spoken to loves her so if you're reading this you might end up taking her anyway.
Professor Strandgaard is a great professor. Do the workbook, look at her handouts, go to her office hours, and I guarantee you... you will pass. Her exams are not bad, however, there are a lot of questions she put on there such as free responses and multiple choice. Overall, she is approachable, and passionate in what she does. Take her. :)
Loved her. Do the workbook, look at her handouts and go to her office hours! She wants to get to know you and wants you to succeed. Endocrinology is her baby so be prepared to work. Study/read before every lecture. Expect her exams to be 7-10 pages of free response and MC.
Definitely not an easy A but possible. Failed the first test but was able to end the class with an A. Listening to the lectures made the difference for me. I went to SI the whole semester which helped a little. She is always so helpful at office hours and very nice!! You could tell that she really cared about her students :)
100% online, great lecturer. Detailed explainer, little room for confusion. If you plan on taking, she uses diagrams a lot, I scanned my textbook diagrams that she used and just wrote on that, glued to notes. 4 test, no cumulative final, 1 big paper. Exams 20 MC, 20-30 short answer 75 min. Do MC fast bc short answers take time to think about, trust
My fav prof this semester! I really loved this class! Clear explanations & expectations. An A or high B is highly achievable. Lots of opportunities for extra credit. Free online downloadable textbook but must purchase a large book lecture notes that replace a textbook. 2 exams and 1 noncumulative final. No quizzes, 2 or 3 mandatory easy assignments
Spring with Strandgaard, was completely remote. But, we never met for virtual classes, because she prefers to post her pre-recorded lectures in canvas which take you directly to YouTube. Extra credit is assigned, but you have to watch her lectures on time in order to be able to submit them, because she doesnt pre-post any assignments in Canvas.
3 exams and a few other assignments. Lecture recordings can be a little boring to go through but she definitely prepares you well for her exams. Dr. Strandgaard did a great job of making bio 104 enjoyable even during COVID. There is optional homework, but if you want to do well on the exams you should really do it! Great choice for upper div elect
Endocrinology was great with her! The lectures were very interesting (if you're pre med). She gives us case studies and handouts that tie in lecture content to real-life scenarios. There is a workbook that is technically optional hw but definitely do it! 4 exams total which are half multiple choice half write in. Not too tough but definitely study!
Easiest bio elective to take. Lots of reading but the concepts are easy to understand. Dr. Strangaard really knows what she's talking about so it's easy to understand her lectures.
Took during summer, given a max of 15 EC pts. 2poster,3exam,6casestudy.Exams are easy 75 mins for 90?s. Concepts are repetitive. Can be a little disorganized. She does more verbal than handwritten notes. No ppt. Workbook is helpful and is used to make sure u read txtbk. Take verbal notes. This was my last class,Easiest elec in bio dep
Shes AMAZING take her, lots of extra credit
Dr. Strandgaard is amazing. She is very knowledgeable in what she teaches and is very caring for her students. She is also very clear with her directions and provides a lot of extra credit opportunities which are currently saving my grade. She also was flexible with me with a late assignment I had and always responded to my Canvas message very fast
Best professor I've ever had. She draws out lots of concept maps and provides multiple extra credit opportunities which are really more to help you learn the material and solidify it. Allowed us to bring a cheat sheet for tests which was helpful. Even though it was a 7:30 AM class, I was able to stay awake during her lectures b/c of her energy!
Great professor but she talks more than she writes so make sure you record her lectures. There are a total of 4 exams and a bunch of group problems. This class is mainly taken by premed students, so if you arent premed dont even bother taking it. You will just give yourself a hard time.
Super nice to her students and tries to learn everyone's name. Material is hard, but she takes her time to explain it thoroughly and answers every question. Extra credit is the easiest thing you could get (just show up and get points basically). She also helps you connect materials together for the exams. Exams were easy, but not memorizable.
I love this professor! I had her for Bio 25 in the summer so it was a very intense fast paced class but she made it go so smooth and exciting to go to class. All though material is tough she made easy to understand and helped out with any questions we had. Tests are hard but if you study and put in the work you can get an A. Extra credit helped!
Professor Strandgaard is amazing! She is very understanding and always wants you to fully understand the material so that you can do well on exams. There are lots of extra credit opportunities, like just showing up. She allows a front sheet of paper as a cheat sheet on all exams. There were a total of 4 exams, and one was a take-home. Take her!
I love Dr. Straagard, She makes class a nice place to be. Highly organized & good at lecturing, her class notes are to the point and easy to follow. Her case studies during class are helpful for understanding the content. Exams are long 65-75 Q's but all multi choice -allows a page of notes. She makes class a nice place to be. highly recommend!
The best teacher i've had at sac state, her lectures are very informative and she cares allot about her students, the subject material is hard, attendance is mandatory for labs, majority of the grade depends on 4 exams
Best professor ever. Loved her lectures, learned so much. Grades are based on exams, filling diagrams out, and case studies. Super understanding and wants us to all succeed. Would absolutely take all her classes.
The best professor I've had for a Bio class. She made the lectures so easy to understand that nothing seemed complicated. Also allows you to use one side of a sheet of paper for tests. Tests are lecture-heavy, so I recommend making sure you take time outside of class to fully understand the topics. Overall, the class is very manageable.
