I was never very strong in math but she makes it so easy to understand. Written homework is turned in every Friday, and there is a lot of Blackboard assignments. All her tests are 100 pts. and they are 10 questions. If I were you I would try and make it to class everyday! She is a great teacher and will help you whenever you need it, TAKE HER.
very very helpful and good at explaining the material tests are worth 100 points with 10 questions and a homework assignment is due just about every 2 weeks and you do workbook about once a week she is very good at teaching a not so easy subject
Mrs. Terranova is very helpful but only if you help yourself. I enjoyed her class and I passed it...DO YOUR HOMEWORK and you will pass. The textbook is only used for homework...I only bought a notebook to class. GoodLuck and stay focused!! Pay attention...if I would have did that instead of sending text messages I would have done a lot better!!
She's not very approachable. She doesn't really teach the material so if you are weak in math, you will definitely be lost in her class. She mainly uses the examples from the book and write them on the board. She's not student centered yet self centered. You either get it or you don't, that's her motto!
Very hard. Not student oriented. She goes really fast and doesn't bother to slow down. You either get it or you don't. I wouldn't recommend taking her if you are weak in math. There is hardly any bonus.
Don't take her. A good percentage of my class DROPPED and WITHDREW. It didn't occur to her that we were not getting it! A good teacher would have recognized that.
She is a horrible teacher. She feels like you should already know most of the work. She is not helpful at all. Asking questions is useless. She tells you that you can ask questions. When it is time to ask questiions you do not know what questions to ask. DO NOT TAKE HER!!!!!!!!
She is an AMAZING teacher. She is very nice and goes out of her way to help. Don't miss a class and do all your homework you will do good. I was never good in math and I am so glad that I took her because I learned so much thanks to her.
NOOOOOOOOOO!!!SHE TALKS TO FAST AND HER TEACHING SKILLS ARE NOT HOT
I dont' know what the others are griping about. It is about applying yourself. Her technique is very good. She is tough and is going to have you prepared for the final. Granted the test she gives are sometimes tough. It is up to you to be prepared. You have to do the work and attend the class or you miss out. This is my second time around.
Awesome.
An Amazing teacher. I learned so much thanks to her. She made math less scary. Take her
What a great teacher. As long as you apply your self and get help when you need it you will do fine. She is the BEST teacher at SOUTHEASTERN. TAKE HER
She does not review for any of the test, which threw me and she doesn't explain the problem. This is how the class goes. U print out the notes, she goes over the notes & that's it. U're on ur own after that. If u are an average Math student, I wouldn't advice you 2 take her. She teaches like every1 just came out of math & I haven't taken it in yrs
Don't put yourself through the torture. She talks as if she got her doctrine and we were supposed to be amazed. She messes up on practice tests and its okay, but if we mess up on the real thing then you know the outcome... Not a good idea to take this one. Might want to search a little harder than the Dr.
She seems easy at first for the review material, but she is extremely hard. The class average for one test was a 40!!! Stay away!
I made a B by the scrape of my teeth. If you do her review guides and memorize the unit circle and other formulas then you will do good on her test. BUT, Ms. Terranova grades homework for ACCURACY and she gives a lot of it too. And some of the problems are NOT easy. Her lecture notes come right out the book word for word. Talk about orginality!
I have a nice fat D on my transcript now...I took trig because I liked it but her tests are IMPOSSIBLE and the quizzes hurt you more than help you. I would suggest if you are a math major to take her, because she will prepare you - however, if you aren't...then don't.
Ms. Terranova is extremely helpful if you have any questions. She's so sweet and tries to make trig interesting, which is hard to do.
Professor Terranova is a good teacher. If you failed her class, well then welcome to college math! Not everyone gets math, but that doesn't make the professor a bad teacher. She grades homework for accuracy but the answers are in the back of the book! Attend class, do your homework, and study and you will do fine in this class.
Took her for Pre-Calculus and I thought she was a great teacher. Gave regular quizzes that you take at home. Helped me prepare a lot for Calculus.
She was AWESOME. I'm not so good at math. I get it but takes a little practice. First she teaches the material. Then does examples from homework that way when you go to Lab you can refer to them. Normally she chooses the challenging examples. She's a great teacher. VERY clear. Let's you out of class early if you finish early. I def recommend! :)
She is a good professor. you have to go to class because there will be something new added everyday. if you pay attention and do the work you will understand the math for the tests. she challenges her students. do not take for an easy A
Gives outline of the entire course & follows it exactly through entire semester. Do not have to bring book to class; can print notes from blackboard to follow along with class examples. Tests are exactly like practice tests, just different numbers. Willing to help students. Would definitely take again!
Really great teacher! She explains everything very well. Gives homeworks that help to understand work, tests are on EXACTLY what she teaches in class, and bonus for every test. Not boring, and eay to understand. Also, very well organized.
She was a great teacher, very helpful. I liked her class and found her teaching method really good. If you take her be sure to do your homework, try not to miss one or you may fall behind. Otherwise, I would highly recommend Ms. Terranova.
She is a great teacher. She gives lots of examples and really helps you understand. The math classes at Southeastern are hard though, no matter what teacher, if you have problems in math your going struggle.
Super Easy. Lots of homework and bonuses. Take her!!
DO NOT TAKE !!! she is way too hard and tries to crack jokes at 8:00 in the morning and gets mad when we don't laugh. like we're not still sleepy
I am a sophomore and have average math skills. She blows your mind with alot of work at first then it slows down. You have to show up and study. Lots of homework and its not easy. Effort is key here. Study and she'll have you ready for calc. 4 tests and some online quizzes. No bonuses. She seems cool though. Math is difficult no matter who you take
She is a very tough teacher, that being said she is super helpful. 4 big tests+ final several quizs and a lottttt of homework online, do not take if wanting an easy A but she will prepare you for calculus, just go to office hours before the test and she will help you, one of my hardest classes and you must come every class because she covers so mch
Ms. Terranova is kind of quirky, but she explains the math really well! Everyone hates 161, but that's only because all the work's online. You don't have to show up, but she lectures with homework problems, so it makes things easier later! All the grading is departmental, so it's irrelevant to your professor; they have no control over any of it.
She's great! Online homewrk assignments weekly. Paper quizzes every other week or so. They really help with the material & your grade. 4 tests, & she will drop the lowest hmwk & test grade and replace it with your highest grade. GO TO EVERY CLASS. The earlier you have class THE BETTER; her later classes have lower avgs than the AM classes.
She was one of the best math teachers I've ever had. She does cover a lot of material in a short amount of time but she knows what she;s talking about (thankfully). Gives take home quizzes and drops your 2 lowest homework grades. The practice test are EXACTLY like the real test. Doing those make all the difference in your grade.
Mrs. Terranova is an amazing teacher and she does her best to help everyone learn the information. Going to her office hours are especially helpful if you have questions because she will help you with your quizzes and homework! Don't skip though because it will be very tough to catch back up! 8 take home quizzes and she drops lowest 2 hw grades.
Mrs. Terranova is super! She doesn't give you all this nonsense that you don't need. She is straight to the point and gives you the info needed for your test. Any other teacher and I'm sure I would have been confused. Take her!
AWESOME! Super helpful and willing to answer any question you amy have. Super nice, and funny. Also, tests are challenging, but overall a fair judgement on what you learned in class. Highly recommend her and would definitely take her again.
Seriously LOVED her! I thought this would've been my worst grade and it was actually my best because of her! You must pay attention and go to every single class or it won't be easy to catch up. She gives online homework and quizzes often, but if you do them, they will help your grade! She gives practice tests that are exactly like the tests
Ms. Terranova is very hard. She gives 8 take home quizzes and 4 tests. In my class we had students who had class with her because she is also a student here and she would spend most of the class talking to them about their class and creating video games then try to teach very fast for the last 45 minutes of class. Would not recommend her to anyone
She's not easy is all I can say. If you want to learn Pre-Calc at a very detailed level with most of your teaching being hands on experience by yourself she's great. But if you want an easy ride look around for better options. Though I must say if you can pass her class, you'll most likely pass math 200. Godspeed if you take her class.
Mrs. Terranova was an amazing teacher, she is very helpful and willing to answer all questions. Even though there is a good bit of material covered in the course she makes it very clear. she does assign homework regularly but it isn't alot and there are about 8 quizzes. She also grades with partial credit and wont just mark the whole problem wrong
The class is very easy to get a good grade in if you come to class and do the few assignments that are required. Her grading criteria and material that needs to be learned are very clear.
Although she is a smart woman, she is a terrible teacher. Her lectures are straight from notes that are available online. No additional explanation is given. The couple hours she has for office hours are a joke. Test questions do not correlate to notes. Unless you want to spend countless hours teaching yourself, you should avoid her.
Math 161 is a tough class. That being said, Ms. Terranova is a very good teacher. She is understanding of students issues and will work to help you understand if you put in some effort. Unless you're some sort of math wizard, prepare to show up to every class.. She is a fair grader. No extra credit. Just do the work and you will be alright.
If you learn Math by watching other people do it, then her lectures are perfect. The subject matter isn't easy but if you go to class and try to pay attention than you should pick it up quick enough. The homework helps reinforce what you learn in class, and practice tests show you exactly what to expect on the actual test. Highly recommend her.
She tries, but she really doesn't teach the material well. Even if you attend every class, you'll still end up teaching all of the material to yourself because she's extremely confusing. Not that great of a teacher. If you have another choice, do yourself a favor and don't go with Terranova for pre-calculus or trig.
Terranova is a pleasant professor and is very knowledgeable about math, but she tends to be unwilling to help her students, and her tests can be difficult. The class isn't too bad if you stay on top of the homework and do a lot of independent practice.
I am not a strong math student at all and i finished with an A in this class. She gives print out notes with several examples that she goes through fully in class. She is open to questions and is available to help in her office hours. Her exams match what she goes over in lecture and she grades fairly. I would definitely take her again.
Seriously best math teacher ever. she gives quite a bit of homework but then you will be prepared for test. she gives partial credit on test which is awesome. the lectures are thorough and the notes are good. she is always helpful in office hours and gives plenty of opportunities for grades.
Took her for Math241( Stats) one of the best math teachers I've had. Breaks material down in a way that seems so simple and easy to get. Give in class assignments, and online quizzes to help before you take the test. No homework. Test are straight forward not too hard not too easy. TAKE HER.
Terranova knows her stuff and will help students who honestly need it. Tests are hard, but quizzes and homeworks easily bring grade up. Lots of studying and problem-solving. I never cracked the textbook open. She is a no-nonsense teacher and goes through every single thing that you will ever need to know on the board. Take lots of notes.
This class is okay, if you must take it. It gets rather confusing, but statistics are not easy. Doing all assignments, studying, and not spacing out, at all, in class are all required to receive a passing grade.
I took her for Stats and she is an AMAZING teacher! She puts all of her notes on Moodle, so bring them to class. She gives online quizzes weekly and she does little quizzes in class. She goes over what's going to be on every test, and her tests are straightforward. She explains everything to where it's easy to understand. LOVE her.
Mrs. Terranova is a great professor! I HIGHLY recommend her for Statistics. She is one of my favorite professors that I've had so far. She does have some homework, but it really isn't that much. As long as you study for the tests, you will do great!
Hands down AMAZING! There is homework due for every class, but they aren't a lot of questions and the practice is needed. She doesn't mind questions in class and will explain multiple ways for you to understand. She suggest at the beginning of the semester to get a tutor I didn't need it but many did. She's relatable and a sweetheart. Do the work.
She is very sweet and caring. We would always joke around in her class.
She explains everything in great detail and always checks to make sure her students understand the material before moving on. She has notes for each lecture on Moodle that you fill out in class with her. She also has study guides for each test on Moodle that tell you EXACTLY what you need to know for the test! Take her if you have the chance!!!
Good teacher
She is amazing! I love her lectures and she is very helpful.
She is very structured and organized person. She is young and is also a student at SELU, but is one of the most organized professors I had that semester. Quizzes usually every week and she pulls questions from the quizzes and homework for the tests. She made online homework a breeze by not using mathxl, but a program she controls.
Cannot say enough good things about Mrs. Terranova. Awesome teacher, makes everything easy to understand. She's a tough grader and she doesn't do extra credit or make up work, but as long as you do your homework and take good notes, you'll do fine
Mrs. Terranova is actually pretty great at what she does. We use WebAssign for class which is full of useful and easy to understand sources of information on how to solve problems. She's very clear on what will or will not be on the test and we get practice test before every test. She quickly responds to emails and grades test same day as taken.
Shes a good teacher. She goes over notes in class. Do not skip or you will fail. Her notes are the problems without answers, but she works them out in class. If you make bad grades on the tests the homework will help you maintain a C. Take advantage of the practice tests online they are the same type of problems on the test with different numbers
Little open book quizzes almost every class with online quizzes too. Tried to make the subject as easy as possible and could dumb it down if you couldn't understand.
Ms. Terranova is a great professor, but her classes are intensely lecture-heavy. Lots of times she can be quite boring to listen to, but if you space out even momentarily, you will get lost fast. Great at answering emails and questions about homework. This class is very hard, so be ready to work very hard. Very sweet lady, attend her class or fail.
Mrs. Terranova is a very thorough professor. I hadn't taken math for 2 years (granted I've always been a fast learner) and had a horrible pre-calc class in hs, so the first couple of weeks were hard. After that it's a breeze as long as you attend class 99% of the time and do your hw and practice tests. She's actually very merciful with grading.
Mrs. Terranova is an amazing professor! Very straight forward. Amazing lectures great detail lots of examples. Beware of ONLINE quizzes & grades... there are a lot of them but super easy to get 100% because u have many chances for each problem. Study material for tests. She has study guides which are very helpful! I would take her again no doubt!!!
Love her so much just take her class. Awesome lady. Great lectures. Super easy. Hard material but if you study then you can make at least a B easily.
Best math teacher i have ever had. She gives you notes and follows them in class. She will answer any questions you have. I do not like math, but she made it pleasant. 3 test and a final. She makes the tests easy. Barely any homework and its not hard. Love this teacher.
Her class was really hard. It moved fast paced. She helped out as much as she could but PreCalc is just hard.
She is fairly nice-blunt at times. She gave us about 2 opportunites for extra credit.
AMAZING!! Literally the best teacher at SELU. She gives you everything you need to prepare yourself for all exams and the final. She breaks down the material so well its unbelievable.. Not a lot of work involved either. I would recommend her 100%!!!
She is a great math teacher. Her notes are very helpful and she has a study guide for each test and the final as well. She explains all of the notes very well and does examples in class to make sure everyone knows how to do it.
Although I didn't make the best grade, Mrs. Terranova was a great teacher! I was also missing a lot of class due to being sick. She takes the time to explain how to work problems and stays after class to help if you need. I had a 69% a but managed to get a 78% in the class at the end but with her help with studying. I would recommend her to anyone!
She is an amazing teacher.
Mrs. Terranova was EXCELLENT!! Her lectures made difficult material seem very simple. She is very personable and will answer any questions you have. Do the homework and review your notes and the practice test and you will be fine.
Mrs. Terranova was a superb professor. She communicated the material very clearly and made everything very easy to understand. Even after the pandemic hit, she did everything she could to make sure the students had all the resources they needed to succeed. I think she is one of the best math professors I have ever had.
I took her for Math 241 as a hybrid class, person once a week for review and everything else online. She explains everything very simple, sometimes you have to teach yourself some things. Very understanding also.
She is a great professor if you do the lectures that she posts on moodle. Super easy and explains all of the material very well. If you do your homework, watch the lectures, and fill in the notes she provides you will 100% pass this class.
Because of COVID, this class was all online for me. But Prof Terranova is amazing and I really enjoyed the class. She answers her email really fast and always helps if you ask. Do the homework. A lot of her quiz/test questions come from the homework.
Had her during COVID, she recorded her lectures which was extremely helpful to go back and watch if you didn't pay attention during class. Her grading criteria for test was confusing but she was very generous with points. As long as you did the homework and showed all your work on quizzes and tests, you were good.
The class was once a week online lecture. Had to do a lesson, quiz with three attempts, and assignment with unlimited attempts each week. Three tests and a final exam which was cumulative. Not very difficult if you do the lesson every week and take notes.
Emails you back very quickly. If you're stuck on a problem she will email you back with the problem worked out, usually within 10 minutes (even late at night). Took her again for 241 because she was that good.
Easy class. I took her for Math 101 and took her again for this class. All online. Unlimited attempts on assignments and 3 attempts for quizzes. No Pearson. Emails back quickly and very helpful. Her examples in the notes make the problems fun. Not hard at all.
Super easy if you do the chapter assignments! Group assignments (I did online) was simple. Just emailed or made a group me with other students.
I am currently taking her hybrid course which is offered off-campus. SUPER easy. You get one homework and quiz every week for each lesson. 4 tests, the final is cumulative, and she lets you have a notecard for tests on which you can put formulas and stuff. Super nice as well and you meet once a week. Highly recommend.
As someone who is not great at math, the notecards we were allowed to have for exams made a huge difference. She wants her students to do well. I would take her again for sure.
loved her class!!! best math teacher I have had. very understanding and cares about your success. The class meets once a week so you have to learn the lesson online then go in person for her lecture. She has guided notes and very helpful videos to teach you the lesson on your own!! Highly recommend!
I had taken professor Terranova for statistics (241) and I would absolutely recommend her for the online class. Although some of the coursework was difficult near the end, the way she teaches and the scenarios she uses help a lot. She does not provide extra credit in her course and has a pretty lenient schedule for coursework, one lesson per week.
My first time taking math 241 I tried so hard just to fail by the skin of my teeth. I retook it with Ms. Terranova and she was awesome!! She made the information I struggled to learn in a full semester seem super easy in a 8week summer class! She is also very respectful, energetic, and organized. Id recommend her to anyone!!!
I'm not a math person at all and was scared for this course, but she made it so easy! Her explanation videos and the notes were very clear to understand. Tests and quizzes were exactly like the review slides & were open note, overall would recommend!
Professor Terranova was is a good professor. I took her online and I kind of struggled with it. She sends out updates every week and really does care about her students. She responds to emails very quick. Your 2 lowest quiz grades and lowest test grade get dropped!! 12 quizzes, 4 tests, 6 part project, and 10 lessons. Class isn't too hard.
Easy class. Quizzes have unlimited attempts and are key study guides for the tests. Tests are timed but open notes. One time I forgot to do/turn in an assignment (which was out of character for me) and she emailed me to tell me I didn't submit it and see if there was a reason. Probably the most caring concerned teacher I ever had. Take her class.
If you are reading this, TAKE HER WITH NO HESITATION!! 10 online lessons that are easy points, 12 quizzes w/ unlimited attempts, 6 easy group projects, 3 open note/book tests exactly like quiz. She drops lowest test (so if you are happy with your grade, you do not have to take final). Do not take anyone but her, she is so caring and replies quick!
Professor Terranova is literally the best option that you can get here in the math department for Stats. Take her with no hesitation! Open notes tests, easy grading criteria with each lesson, quiz, and project part. There's nothing to worry about, literally her tests are exact from her lessons and quizzes. She drops the lowest test grade even final
One of the best professors I have had in a long time. She stepped in to teach our class when our original professor got sick and she got us back on track. She explains everything in great detail and really seems to care about us succeeding. She tries to make sure no one is lost. If you can have her as your professor I would 100% go for her!
Great professor! Took over my class after my professor got sick and I was worried about how she would be, but she turned out to be a great professor. She gives practice test which is similar to her test which allowed us to succeed. I would 100% recommend her. She also is always willing to help students and makes sure they understand the material.
she is the BEST! There is a homework and activity due every week and then a test every other week. This schedule was so relaxing, and I was often able to get ahead with the homework and activities. For tests, you could use your notes!!!!!!! The test were also on webcam and audio just be prepared for that. Also, I didn't have to take the final exam.
Good Professor. You won't regret taking her class. She grades really well, and she is very caring and helpful.
Great professor! It is very easy to get an A as long as you study. She did not offer any extra credit options (not really needed) but she did have an option to not take the exam.
Terranova is an amazing professor! She gives EXTRA CREDIT which is very EASY! She is very caring! The test were literally exact from lessons and study guide material! Print out the lessons! U can use notes, lessons, or whatever you need on the test!
I am currently taking her online 241 course and I have zero regrets. Math is not my strong subject but she makes understanding easier. HIGHLY recommend.
Mrs. Terranova is amazing!!! The best math teacher ever. She gives easy bonus points, reviews, and easy assignment points as well as extended due dates if needed. She allows you to have one index card every test with whatever you want! Easy A
Was an easy course to take. Her videos added to the lessons made the concepts easier. The tests are a bit tricky, but she offers additional assignments, a student discussion board, and a bonus for every model to make up for it. Also test are open note.
Amazing professor! I'm not the best at math and still finished with an A. The class has 8 lessons, 8 homework sets, 4 activities, 4 bonus forums (2 pts each), 4 exams, and an optional final if you're happy with your grade. She explains clearly, is supportive, and makes the class manageable. Definitely take her for Elementary Stats!!!
I failed math the first time, took it with her, almost had an A. Explains stuff really well, open note test.
Love her!! I highly reccomend taking this class. she has videos and corresponding guided notes, expplains things very well!
