Nice try Kip. Very arrogant. Talks to his students like a special ed class full of toothless hillbillies. Thinks that he should be teaching higher quality students and is wasting his time on such low caliber losers. Tries to scare you out of his class.

The most challenging prof. at Bloom. He expects more and is thrilled when you deliver. Don't take his class unless you want to see what you are capable of. Those who vote negatively are doomed to a life of quiet desparation.
Armstrong is a great prof! If you are not willing to take a challenge and take the easy way out in life, don't waste your time, because he isn't going to waste his on you. I learned more from his class than any other class at the school. Thanks!!

At first I thought he was rather pompous and that I wasn't going to learn anything. After a few weeks though, I found myself loving this class! He truly is a wonderful teacher as long as you do what is expected. I respect this man now. I actually LEARN.

When I first saw the guy, I thought he was nuts, but he is ok. He is really stingy with giving A's though, so if you have a hard major like Bio, Chem, or Physics, I don't recommend taking this as an easy A course.
I was in his Sociological Theory,Social Deviant Behavior, and Social Stratification courses back in the seventies. I agree with all the comments so far. After attending graduate school and taking graduate courses at several universities,he is the best
Professor Armstrong has an ability to weed out those who will not succeed, thus bringing up the level of the class. He really prepared me for graduate school. I have him to thank for my academic success.
Professor Armstrong is a very interesting man. He definitely cares about his work, but i do not like some of his comments. Seems to dislike poor people. Although i am not poor, it is uncalled for.
He wants the best out of all his students. If you do not like a challege, don't take him. I didn't like the guy all semester, but afterwards, I respect him more than I do any other professor. If you do what is expected and still cant' succeed, he will he help you!
He is a professor where you need to write everything he says if you want an A. The book is no help because he complains every class about how much he hates the book even though he picked it. although he does know what he's talking about, unless you want a challange this is not the class you want.
The man is an ultra-conservative guy. He expects a ton of work from you, mostly reading. He'll offend and insult lots of people, especially other members of the soc. dept. and anyone that isn't a conservative republican like himself. He can be nice if you debate with him, he'll respect you for it
if you dont want to work for your grade dont take dr armstrong.if your sick of 13th grade courses, hes for you.very tough, very smart, makes you work.see him in his office, hes not as harsh as in class and willing to work with you, granted you prove your worth his time
I HATE THIS MAN!! He is the worst teacher! He is rude, inconciderate and hypocritical. His tests are impossible and he needs to get over himself
Terrible, Mean, Angry Man!!!!
Pompous ass. Made us study a study tips manual just because some relative of his wrote it. Test on this material was word for word and irrelevent to Sociology. Avoid.
If you like teachers who are **** and insult you take Armstrong. One of the worst teachers I have ever had. Don't take this class, I REPEAT don't take this class.
Dr. Armstrong is the hardest teacher I have ever had. However, he shows you what a real college class is about. His tests are hard (no one gets a's) but you learn so much. He is kind of judgemental, but overall I believe he has a right because he knows what he is talking about.
Dr. Armstrong is one of the most intelligent and interesting professors at Bloomsburg. Any person with intelligence, good writing skills and motivation can work hard and ace his class. Do not be turned off by negative comments. You will learn a lot. Just work hard!
Terriable
ULTRA conservative, mildly offensive, he WILL write harsh comments on papers and expect a TON of work, do the reading if you expect to do well. However, he can also be funny, and nice (if you get to know him). Its important that you do the work! If you're smart and let it show, he'll like you.
Best teacher on campus. Very conservative, which is actually nice for a change, being on a college campus. Helpful, insightful, intelligent, worthwhile. Outside of class, great person, loves to have fun.

Dr. Armstrong was one of the hardest professors I ever had attending bloom, but I also learned the most from him. He will come off as a pompous ass who is upper class, but when you learn he is actually divorced and has his own problems. Read the lessons he assigns multiple times, it is possible to get an A in his class and dont forget to meet him at least once in his office, he really likes that. You will eventually learn his thinking and be able to guess his quizzy questions.

Fortunately, I had Dr. Armstrong during my first semester as a freshman. The rest of my four and a half years were a breeze. The most important lesson occurred on the first day of class... "Whether you think you can, or you think you can't, you are right..." - Henry Ford
He doesnt make any sense and his test are really hard. And he doesnt take attendence but he gives quizes everyday of class. He is just all around a hard and mean teacher.
****! The only plus I have to say about him is that I got a good laugh at the way he dressed himself. Kiss up enough, and you will get a C, just don't make it too noticable. Just simple agree with him on everything, and write what he wants to hear.
So here's the 411 on Armstrong. He will be a very difficult teacher, but he will also motivate you to learn. He does this by saying things to get you going. DO NOT LISTEN TO HIM!! be impartial and allow the man his own perspective. He is a brialliant man, too brilliant if you ask me. Just read and pay attention to what you read. You will do fine!
He expects a lot of his students, so if u dont want to do work, dont take any of his classes. He makes u read a lot and gives quizzes on the reading just about every class. In this class he also makes u do observations once a week. He really is a nice guy, just dont take anything he says personally. He speaks generlaly, not specifically about u.
Creepiest guy ever
Take this class, and you might just learn something. Dr. Armstrong is very helpful, very witty, very intelligent. His class was refreshing and entertaining. It was difficult, but you get out of it what you put into it. It's that simple.
He is one of the better teachers at Bloom. However, if your a guy you have no chance in his classes to get a decent FAIR grade. If your a girl you will get an easy B just as long as you go out to lunch with him since he will ask you 12098454 times until you give in. He looks down on everyone and compares you to his daughter who went to YALE
He is very hard but you learn a lot from him. At the beginning of the semester he tries to weed out those who won't do work by telling you you won't pass his class but DO NOT LISTEN TO HIM. Just do the work and you will be fine.
Caution: Right Wing Bigot.
this class is def hard...but you will learn a lot. just do the readings and go over them before class and you will do fine on the quizzes. take this class if u want a challenge and can appreciate learning
I had him for prin of soc.He seems really insane at first but you just have to get used to it.He will tell you on the first day to drop the class because you won't pass but that's not true as long as you read the assignments. He really likes ppl w/ good writing skills. If you don't want to end up eating lunch w/ him 9542 times, say NO the first time!
Hard class but enjoyable. He contradicts himself a lot; saying grades don't matter, but we won't amount to anything w/ a poor GPA. He is a nice guy, but is a bigot. You just need to learn to laugh off what he says. He told us that anything over a 60% in his class was above average & if you earn an A then you have no right to go to Bloom, haha.

If Bloomsburg is so bad, then my question is why do you teach here? Favors women and is a bigot as noted from other reviews. Why the sociology department allows him to teach Race and Ethnicity is beyond me, but that is one of the many mysteries of this university.
Very difficult teacher, but worth it.
Dr. Armstrong is probably the best teacher I have ever had. He is a very hard grader and makes his students work for their grades. His expectations are high and he will let you know if you met his standards. For those that show interest in the class, he will show interest in your progress as a student. Taught me a lot about myself. Wonderful.
Needs to get off his pedestal and get his head out of his own ass. Tries to make students feel stupid and bad about themselves.
He's a favoritist. Studied my butt off... got a C... (that's not usual for me). He wrote on one of my papers something to the extent of I was "headed nowhere." Had a guy who sat next to me and did nothing and passed with an A because he played tennis several times with the guy. Doesn't desearve to be teaching anywhere, even a state school.
He was difficult, but I worked very hard at it and got an A-. He may be a favortist, but if you show heart for the class and dedicate numerous hours outside of the classroom, he'll apprechaite it - and probably give you the grade you deserve. I enjoyed the class and learned a lot of information. Take him if you like to learn...
He is a wonderful teacher. He has many interesting facts and I loved the class!
Definitely a favoritist. Really hard professor, doesn't appreciate teaching at Bloom (the last day of class he told us that "sociology was a load of crap"). Rants about the same thing over and over again...class, and how he's so much better than everyone else out there! the guy's a jerk. don't take his class unless you're looking to fail.
Armstrong is by far the worst professor. He is the biggest ass I ever met as well as a huge hypocrite. Talks about how much Bloom sucks and still teaches there. I got up first day and walked out of the room straight to computer and dropped the class. He yelled at class for no reason. I was very excited about the class Race&Ethics until he spoke.
I had this professor long ago when I attended Bloomsburg. I thought he was the best then and I still do. If you apply yourself and work hard, he will notice it. He is honest and forthright in his demeanor. If you have thin skin and don't want to know the truth, then don't take him. I actually got my son to take his class and he feels the same.
He's definitely not a teacher for anyone with a thin skin. Despite this, I enjoyed his class, and actually appreciated the fact that he offered opinions outside what you'd normally expect from a Soc prof (ie: left-leaning ideology).
he is a hard professor there are quizzes on the readings almost everyday. his classes are lectures where he dicusses how he is the only professor on campus who deserves a phd. he gives off a feeling of superiority over bloomsburg and has definite conservative viewpoints
Very smart man, Expects a lot out of his students

His class is hard, but you will learn a lot. He was, by far, one of the best professors I've ever had. He pissed off most of the class most of time but I thought he was funny. He loathes laziness so grow up and adopt the protestant work ethic!
I had him 4strat &deviance &I got a C+ bothtimes. He is hard, demanding, pompass, eogtistical ect,BUT he is the real world simply put.Noone is going 2 baby u out here trust me, &if u r going 2grad school u better get used 2his style, he is the 1you will look back at &remember.he will not help you GPA & u will put alot into the class!good luck!
Interesting subject matter, but unfortunately it's buried under a lot of homophobia, ego, and bias. Easy A this is not. Actually, I'm sorry, easy A if you're a woman and are willing to go out to lunch with him. Personally, I'd take my pride over a good grade, but you'll notice from the comments that (surprise!) lots of Bloom girls feel otherwise
Hardest class I ever took! He requires a lot of reading and gives out daily quizzes so you better go to every single one of his classes and understand the reading. Tests were 10 short answers and 2-3 essays. Many papers were due! Says how much he hates the school a lot and how a lot of people are poor. If you want an easy class this is far from it!
Best professor at Bloomsburg University. I think everyone should have to take his class; it would help weed out the people who are not serious about college. He pushes his students to actually learn the material. Plus he does not use PowerPoint, which is a plus. He helped me realize that the professor's expectations help motivate students. Awesome.
this guy is a joke very biast and looks down on poor as worthless. very racy and very old school
Armstrong is a tough professor, but he has a knack for bringing out the best in your abilities. It is true his classes are not for the faint at heart, or for those who do not want to work hard. Ultimately, this man changed my views on college as a whole and has made me work much harder for what I want. He may make rough comments, but truth is truth
Teaches like a real professor, no power point. A man who can teach with no notes and give you a real piece of mind. People don't like him because they don't like to work and don't like the truth. Easy class if you do what your supposed to, speak for yourself, and believe in your own values. he is the only professor ive had who tells it like it is.
His class was rediculus. Its not supposed to be a hard class but he makes it a difficult class. He's VERY opinionated and he thinks he's never wrong, so dont bother trying to argue with him. I wouldnt take the class i ended up withdrawling so if you're in it drop it if you can.
Armstrong is more than a bit notorious on this campus for his less than subtle manipulation of female students. Most of you appear to be quite naive about what he is really doing and why. Has he yet invited you to his special lunches? Notice his focus on the pretty gals? Armstrong - get with the 21st century. and if you are so famous why at BU?
Great professor, the only people who really dislike him are those unwilling to work. Anyone can get an A in the class if they strive to be the best that they can be.
I felt that he was very opinionated and view all poor people were subhuman and that he had a very poor view of the public schools. He tends to shoot the systems of government like a typical right wing intellect. Very much for privatization of the educational systems, but I feel that he is very hypocritical when he teaches for a public run college.
I feel that this professor needs to understand that a right wing point of view is only one sided. He tends to be hypercritical of anything democratic or liberal. He lives in Danville PA where elitism is at its prime and where privatization is the mantra. He is chokingly conservative. Liberals take his class and challenge his closed mindedness!
Dr. Armstrong is a really good teacher, he is highly intelligent and has strong opinions on just about every topic. he can be biased but it is NEVER personal. He gives a lot of workload; reading and papers, jus pay attention to details. The class i took was racial/ethnic minority groups and i would recommend anyone to take this class with him!!
He is a hard professor but I learned so much more than just Sociology. He helped me learn a better work ethic and why being able to learn is important
this class = least of my worries. thought he would be my hardest prof but by far the easiest i ever had. attendence not mandatory but worth going to his class. assigns readings then gives quizzes, quizzes are a piece of cake if you know how to read. hilarious man, right-winged like I am so it was a joy being there, he expects college level work.
Dr. Armstrong is by far the worst teacher I have ever had. He is more concerned about your grammar than he is about the subject he is supposed to be teaching you. I find it hard to get myself to class every day.
This man should be fired! He is completely evil and does not have a heart. He does not possess the ability to give anyone a compliment, rather he enjoys putting everyone else down. DO NOT TAKE HIM! He is a complete loser who is trying to make up for the fact that he was probably picked on as a child. Assigned 6 books for one semester!!
Intro to Soc.: Hated going to class. He's VERY opinionated and looks down on anyone not a white, well-educated male. Hard to determine essential info from his rants during lecture. Assigned 5 books. Multiple pop-quizzes. Quizzes and tests are all essays. Paper descriptions ramble on, but include everything he says and include other theories.
Took him for deviance and stratification, very hard. Requires a lot of reading. Will do good in the class if you have time to read everything. He is very opinionated and lectures on information in a way you can't take notes on it, so you better be a good listener.
Great professor! Will motivate you to be the best you can be. Anyone who likes to learn and be enlightened should take one of his classes.
I've noticed that you'll either love him or hate him. Assigns alot of reading. Read the text and you'll be fine on the pop quizzes. Worries more about grammar than actual material. Taking notes is hard and he is very judgemental and opinionated. Study REALLY hard, think outside the box, and kiss his butt. You'll be fine.
Prides himself in high expectations but does a horrible job of encouraging his students to reach his expectations. Brilliant man, but not meant to be a teacher. His class just isn't worth the stress.
DO NOT TAKE HIM! Awful person, he discriminates against those of different ethnic backgrounds, constantly tells everyone they are "low class" compared to him. Such a disgusting man...
To be completely honest, I am not a fan of this man. He knows what he's talking about, when he stays on topic which doesn't happen often. I understand that he wants us to think but he really isn't giving us anything to think about other than books and papers we don't understand. If you manage to become one of his star students you'll be ok.
Not that hard to get a B in his class. Read the entire chapter and remember key words and sociologists for the quiz. Write creatively and clearly in the papers to get a good grade. The test are hard, but basically remember all sociologists, key words, and topics he talks about in class and you will pass the test.
As many others have already said, he is not a nice man. He feels that he is better than everyone. He says that students at Bloomsburg are all idiots, but he teaches here looking for the "diamond in the rough". He grades very hard and does not grade well if you do not see things the same way he does. I would not recommend him at all.
When I was first told about this professor and how "horrible" he is, I was really ready to drop the class. It was challenging and most of the time I wanted to quit, but i didn't! he teaches well and as long as you read the material, take notes and LISTEN. you'll be fine.
He knows his stuff. However, he is a very degrading man. Attendence is not mandatory but you have to be at every class to recieve all the very important info and pop quizzes. Lots of reading and papers on experience with topics. I wouldn't recommend him if you're looking for an easy A.
this class is redic. run away as fast as you can. rudest man ive ever met. is not helpful and puts students down. i wish i listened to rate my prof and got out of the class
This class was a challenge and I love challenges. If you show him that you know how to write creatively then you will definitely get an A on all his writing assignments. There is a quiz almost every class so make sure you know all the key terms in the chapter and if you have read and know all the material then you should pass his test. He's not bad
Dr. Armstrong expects a lot of effort out of his students and a lot of people take the class as a gen ed and expect to shrug it off and you can't. If you work hard and ask for help when needed it's not terrible.
This guy knows his material but my feelings were genuinely hurt many times leaving his class. What you get on the first day isn't him scaring you...it's just him.
Extremely knowledgeable prof! Leave you opinions at the door, and just sit and listen to him speak. He is very blunt with his explanations, but its something that is quite rare to find from a teacher today. He is not afraid to express his opinions, and he can back all of them up with solid arguments. I really respect this guy.
He is very blunt with his opinions. If you don't agree with him just pretend you do. Very often he puts the students down because we go to a public university. Oh and you will never get higher than a 95% on any paper.
He's a incredibly opinionated man, on more than one occasion he has made derogatory comments about the fact that we were attending a public school. He also made the comment that everyone who withdrew from the class would get pregnant and drop out anyway.
This guy is a pig and should not be allowed to teacher here. Period. Don't take anything with him unless you want to hate your life
He is very black and white with a lot of his views. Tests are incredibly difficult and long. Does not actually talk much about the course content during lectures. You pretty much just read the textbook and get tested on that. Would highly recommend any other professor.
Extremely rude. Isn't clear about exactly what he wants and doesn't seem willing to help. I left personally affended several times from class. Don't take him!!
I enjoyed this class. It required me to think. Most take his comments personally, but this class teaches you how the real world is. Just read and take notes and you will do fine! He also assigned very interesting papers that I enjoyed writing about daily observations. Most influential class I've taken thus far in college.
Honestly one of the most rude teachers I've ever had. Please avoid his class under all costs. Tests are VERY hard. And he grades even harder. Sent him an email asking for help and he told me I wasn't thinking and bashed me. Don't take his class.
Very knowledgable in every course he teaches. Had him for Strat & Deviance and loved both courses. Toughest professor I've had at BU but I've learned more in his classes than any others. Can't take what he says personally. If you want to be challenged and learn a lot of real world info, I recommend him.
Armstrong is the best professor here. Tough in class (don't take anything personal) but if you seek him out and do well on the papers, he is harmless. I have learned the most I have ever learned in college in his classes. (Strat and Deviance) READ. he picks good books, you'll enjoy them. Don't take his class lightly, but you will learn a ton.
Expects too much out of student. Not clear of what he is saying. Test are almost impossible. If you can't write well or have bad grammars then never take this class, EVER. Talks all day and does not actually teaches things that can be helpful in exam.
EXTREMELY opinionated. Have no doubt he will offend you and insult you. He believes he is from the best generation and is the best teacher at this school. If you're a good writer and read the material you'll be fine. If you become a "golden student" then he'll be your new best friend. He has low expectations of most students, so prove him wrong.
Weekly quizzes andor papers. Very tough professor, but also a very rewarding class. I have learned more in this class than I have in all my classes combined so far. If you give it your all, you will make it out okay.
I was initially very nervous to have Dr. Armstrong as a professor but he really is not that bad. As long as you make an effort to talk to him and show some interest in his class you'll be fine. He pushes his students to prove him wrong. He is clever, he knows what he is doing by "insaulting" us. He really makes you think and evaluate your decision.
Opened my eyes completely. Amazing professor. Extremely blunt and tells you how it is and what it is. Recommend this class. Enjoyed this class very much.
I took his class as a senior in high school and was one of his "stars" Seriously though, I only read the material before class and got an a on the first exam. Most of his quizzes I bs'ed, to say the least. But just cause I got an a on the first exam he loved me. So guys, ace the first exam. Take intense notes. He's actually a really good prof
Lectures are confusing. Bounces from topic to topic. Assigns a lot of reading after class then gives a pop quiz on something from the reading
He has received many bad ratings but he will go down as the best professor I've had here at Bloomsburg (intelligence level). I was nervous to take him but I learned so much and he doesn't use power points like other professors.. he can't stand that. If you want an eye-opening professor who doesn't sugar coat things. Take Armstrong!
He is a great Professor but if your expecting to just breeze by don't take his class. I took intro to Soc. with him and received a D but its what I earned. I liked his teaching habits so much I decided to take Race & Ethnicity with him the following year and got a B. In my opinion he is the Best Sociology Professor at BU and its hard to impress me
He is extremely opinionated. He thinks his generation was the best and will always be. He states that he is one of the best professors here and he is the only one who actually teaches you. Which I find false because he jumps from topic to topic. He is very racist and tells you that if you attend Bloomsburg you will amount to nothing. Rude, airhead.
I had his for Race and Ethnicity, and he was hard. My class was small so we really got to know each other, and he is very opinionated. Study for tests, because he could choose anything to be on them. Essay based questions.
I took Armstrong's class for Sociology. He is super opinionated. He puts down everyone, and only ever lectures. He repeats himself a lot, and isn't the most understanding professor. Lots of writing and reading.
Best professor Ive had. He grades very hard, but gives a ton of feedback and when you get a good grade you feel like you earned it. A lot reading so dont take it if you want an easy class, but I can promise you youll learn more than any other class. Most dont like him because he states the hard facts, but thats sociology. Books are affordable
Hes a great professor. You just have to take good notes and study.
Dr. Armstrong was one of toughest college professors. His assignments weren't too difficult but he had very high expectations. He really did care about all of his students, though, and was always super helpful.
Probably my favorite professor here at BU. He has a lot of opinions, and will express them, but besides that his lectures are awesome. Alongside the class material he really tries to get everyone to learn valuable life lessons or just how things can apply to daily life. Can go on tangents sometimes. YOU NEED TO READ THE MATERIAL OR YOU WILL FAIL
If you hate reading, listening to people talk down to you, and hate essays/ tests that are essay based you will hate this class. He tells you exactly how to do well in his class so you just have to listen. He taught me a lot about life more than the actual course.
Good lectures. I leave feeling worse about myself though. Never considered myself to be a sensitive person. He has said negative things directed towards me. Shows favoritism and very judgmental. I felt it from the start but wanted to challenge myself but its hard when he talks down to the class like saying he was dumbing it down for the class.
One of my fav profs at Bloom. I had him first semester fresh year, he is tough but teaches very important and interesting info. His classes changed my life for the better. He is lecture heavy so be prepared to take notes. If you put the work in you will do well. I highly recommend him if you want to challenge yourself, not if you want an easy A.
Took this class while a senior in highschool. Very intimated at first but if you put in the effort you will be fine. Lots of reading!! Take heavy notes on readings and lecture s or you won't pass. Teaches practical information. Can offer alot. Good Prof.
Dr. Armstrong is a smart guy. He has been around and knows sociology like the back of his hand. I learned a lot about social class and society. But this was by far my worst class In Bloomsburg. His class overwhelmed me with anxiety, rude, derails from what he's talking about in lectures, he judges far too quickly, I leave the class feeling worse.
Very opinionated and does not care he he says. I dont know why he works at Bloomsburg if he talks about how much the students are not great. He also talks about other professors doing poorly. Very unprofessional professor in my eyes
Very opinionated and rude. Does not care what he says. Makes you feel horrible after leaving his class
his class is extremely hard. hardly anyone ever gets an A. You need to read all the material he gives you IN DEPTH. he has alot of opinions so if you get offended easily dont take him. that being said I had him at 8am and i looked forward to going. this class is so interesting and it really teaches you alot. He is very intelligent.
I am so upset that I had Dr. Armstrong as a professor. I felt so disrespected and uncomfortable. He is rude to his students and obviously picks favorites. I felt like I could never come to him with anything, he was also my advisor and I had to switch. Even if you aren't a sensitive person, no professor should treat their students like this.
This professor is really rude and doesn't see, like the type to help you outside of class. I would not recommend him as a professor
Horrible, I regret taking this class. He very opinionated, waste time talking about random things, get angry when you call him out for not doing his job properly, not encouraging towards his Students rather put them down for asking a question or giving their opinions, he not welcoming and he's very rude I just couldn't for it to be over!!
He is very disrespectful, I called him out for it and placed blame on me for not paying attention in class. When you do pay attention in class you notice he rambles about nothing and doesn't stay on topic about assignments, speaking on assignments he changes due dates and topics frequently and when you as for help he tells you to pay attention.
He would rant about random things that had nothing to do with class. He has his "lunch bunch" that is very creepy and unprofessional. Not a good professor but I did learn a lot from the class just from the readings. Never from his lectures.
Christopher Armstrong is one of the worst professors I have ever had. I have no respect for him and intentionally look for soc classes without him as the prof. A prof has never made me feel so dumb and incapable of myself and my abilities. I passed the class, but it was a terrible experience. I felt I could not come to him w questions. Avoid him.
This man is absolutely terrible. Treats kids like they are gum on the bottom of his shoe. The University gets complaints about him being discriminatory towards students yet they have done nothing about it. Awful professor and an even worse human being.
One of the worst people I've ever met. Talks about how horrible of a school BU is compared to Yale and Harvard and how we're all pathetic. I don't even know what to write in his lectures he just talks and talks with no key points. Tries to make you feel like an idiot basically and talks to students about other students' grades- so inappropriate.
Dr. Armstrong is a very tough teacher. I never dreaded a gen ed more than this class. It took everything in me to pass. Please, pick another professor if possible.
All I gotta say is thank GOD hes leaving after this year. Worst professor Ive ever had in my entire life. Extremely smart but a terrible explainer and teacher.
One of the worst professors ever. I dreaded going to this class every time I went. The first thing he would say almost every class was how pathetic we all are and he says things that are extremely inappropriate and tries to belittle all of his students and make them feel like crap.
Very big of reading & putting the phone down. Expects students to be on top of assignments and readings. Doesnt like to repeat himself but he does speak the truth.
I made the mistake of taking 2 classes in one semester with him. If youre a student with no hobbies/extracurriculars and would rather read for 5 months straight on relatively interesting topics that are irrelevant at the end. This is the guy for you. Just dont forget hes better than you in every single way possible he went to a private school
I took Dr. Armstrongs class online and it was not easy. There werent any PowerPoint presentations for us to look at or for him to go off of. Most of the time he would just talk and be biased with what he was talking about according to the material. The exams were hard. His response in emails were rude. If you have a chance take another professor.
VERY BLUNT when teaching/grading. Those who are complaining probably skipped class, if you go to class it's easy to keep up with. You get what you put in, if you do the bare minimum your grades won't be too high. Take good notes when he's lecturing and you'll be fine
Best professor if your interest and passion is in social inequality/equity.
Professor was extremely rude. Made statements against minorities, the homeless and people within the lower class. Yes this is sociology however a professors political and options on those who “arnt rich” should not be stated. Statements frequently regarding those on scholarships being unworthy of an education. Hard to learn anything from Him
