Mr. Barker is absolutely helpful and very clear with the way he teaches math. In addition, his handwriting is very neat, organized, and easy to understand. He is by far the best math teacher that one could possibly have!!!

Good teachers are hard to come by, good math teachers - even more so. Mr.Barker is the best math teacher I've had. I gave a 4 on clarity for his Math 2 class, it was his first time teaching that class in a while, not all of the subject matter was covered.

The only reason there's so much positive feedback is because this professor is way too easy!!! I felt like I wasn't challenged enough, any bonehead could pass this class. Which is an insult to students that are dedicated to their education.

One of the best profs I've ever had, not just for math. He allows for questions to be asked, and goes over homework probs at the beginning of class (most profs barely do this anymore). Tests are, eh ok. As long as you have a good background in algebra you shouldn't fail. + he's a cutie! :)

Super professor!!! Calc. is already a tough course, but some teachers make it harder then it really is. Not Barker. He's such a good teacher that I only use the textbook for homework. Also This teacher teaches from math 82 to math 4 so you can take barker for your entire 2 year math course.

One of the most outstanding teachers for mathematics I have had. He does try to trim his classes down with difficult tests in the beginning, but he is extremely clear and concise and leaves you with outstanding notes!

I would be failing Math if it wasn't for Mr. Barker. Lectures are clear and easy to understand, and he gives plenty of practice exams. He's right handed, so you would do well to sit on the left side of the room to see what he's writing. Make sure to do the homework, and you should be fine. :)

Mr. Barker is a very good professor i took him for math 13 and almost got an A darn that first test. I was unaware that he would use the same sample test for his exams(changes a little around) fairly easy and the way he grades is cool unfortunately if you have a smart student in the class you better do your best on the exams cuz there's no curve

i've heard about all the other teachers at that teach calc 1 and he is by far the best one.. his lectures make complete sense, he is realli helpful ifu ask.. n hes an overall good teacher.

all of these ratings are true! mr. barker makes life so easy with his teaching method. he has practice tests online that prepare you and assigns no homework! but it is a good idea to do the problems to help you memorize formulas.

He is so easy if you just do the practice test. You don't need to come to class if you can learn on your own. He explains every problem so clearly that there's no way that you won't understand it.

I currently go to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo but I took Calculus 1 and part of 2 from Mr. Barker. Hands down the best math teacher I have ever had. Even my current teacher here at Poly, who is great, doesn't have the combination of lecturing skills that put Barker over the top. Not only are his lectures crystal clear, but he makes math fun!

Professor Barker is one of the best if not the best math professor ever! Took him for both Math 1 and 2. He is extremely clear about the topics and is more than willing to help when needed. Tests are reasonable, go to class, pay attention, take good notes and you'll do fine.

I have now taken both Math 1 & 2 with Barker and I have no doubt that without Barker my experience with calculus would have been totally different. His combination of excellent lecturing and math skills allow his students to grasp the material while relating to him at the same time. If you want to learn calculus, there is no better.

This was the easiest thing ive ever done. He gives you these practice tests, which turn out to be the exams with different numbers. No surprises, strictly whats on the practice test. Very nice. Extremely easy.

Barker is probably the best math teacher on the Delta Campus! His lectures are very clear and concise and it is not hard at all to understand the material with his teaching (as long as you pay attention of course). He makes it much easier to pay attention in a usually boring subject.

Mr.Barker is a great teacher, he really makes calculus understandable. However he doesnt give any opportunity to bring your grade up with extra credit or anything. Your grade is solely based on tests and quizzes, so dont bomb any of them!!!

Looks like Delta has failed again... if you look in the fall and summer 2009 catalog, you will notice Barker is not listed.... if Delta didnt renew his contract Im going to be pissed cause I need this guy for Math 3,4 and 5 for my transfer and I dont want Bykov or Lindborg (they just dont know how to teach as well as Barker with his PhD :])

I love his class. Attendance is mandatory so you and not miss anything and because he gives unannounced quizzes (which are open book and notes). Exams are pretty easy cause he does a full review the day before. He has the neatest white board handwriting and is always willing to help you. Homework is optional. Highly recommended.

Mr. Barker is an excellent instructor. His lectures are very clear and you can understand what he's saying. If you want a good-quality instructor, take him for any math class.

Very great professor, homework is optional, but really helps to prep you for his tests. His quizzes are open book/open notes so be prepared to write notes, his pop quizzes come directly are very similar from the notes a day or 2 before the quiz. Don't take his tests lightly because he will flip the switch so use his study guide as a reference. 9/10

I was really intimidated to take Survey of Calc since I'm already horrible at math (I failed Math 82--TWICE!), but Barker is seriously fantastic. Tells you exactly what's on the exam, pop quizzes are EASY, and there's no homework. I will say I did go to tutoring before exams, which helped, but overall he's an amazing teacher. Highly recommend!!!

I went into this class as a guy who didn't like math. I came out of this class with an A in calculus and the realization that math is a really cool and interesting thing. I actually changed my major to engineering because of this class and have since aced calc 2,3,4 at my state university. Barkers clarity and enthusiasm is unparalleled. TAKE HIM!

This guy is awesome enough said. Explains clearly makes Calculus easy. Online practice exams are almost the same as the actual tests. Once in awhile there will be a question that makes you think but easy A. Have fun.

Took Math 39 with Lindborg, then went straight to him; I had no choice. Dislike his class. He is monotone and boring. His tests are tricky, only gives easy examples in class, but for tests, he'll throw a curve ball. Take him if you won't need math in your life but its for your major. Lindborg will take you to another level in Math.

Professor Barker is an amazing instructor. Very clear, helpful, and exams are fair. He cares about the students and will add everybody from the wait-list because people will drop. But he won't add you if you're not on the wait-list. My friends were correct about not worrying about being on the wait-list. Must take Professor Barker

Mr. Barker, Is awesome. He really knows math and doesn't mind taking the time to make sure that everyone is getting it. The class moves really fast you have to be there everyday, but he is extremely helpful and patient. There is homework but it is never collected or graded. He'll stop to askanswer questions. He never misses class. He even came to teach when he couldn't turn his neck once. I would recommend him. His class is always full.

MILITARYVETERANS: As we know, we are taught in Steps (Step 1, 2, etc). He is the PERFECT 'Steps' instructor! He even color codes & many students will purchase their own colored pens and follow him. He literally DRAWS linesarrows to tell where the number came from, why it's important to use it, and when (at what step #) to use it! Just show up!!

Professor Barker is an amazing teacher! His lectures are very clear and easy to follow. He goes step by step which allows students to digest the information. One of the most revered Professor at Delta College. Lecture are amazing, breaks everything down to plain english. His organizational skills and whiteboard management make everything crystal-clear. He really is crystal clear with his lectures and explains everything well. He's funny at times and is helpful when you're lost but don't be offended when he answers in a demeaning way, its usually funny for the rest of the class. The online HW sucks and 80% of your grade depends on TESTS.

When he's doing his lessons, he kinda goes on and the class sometimes gets lost. I understand though, we don't have much time. He explains the material in orderly fashion with color coding and if you pay attention, it is easy to learn the material.

Prof. Barker is great! He communicates regularly, sends emails with important info and seems to respond almost immediately to emails. He is helpful and provides clear explanations. He hosted a final review for our online course, which was extremely helpful and nice of him to do. He was one of my best professors!

Our two hour classes were long, but I loved Professor Barker. The online practice exams are exactly like the exams. Practice those until you know them completely and there is no way you won't get an A in the class. Honestly I never used my book because the homework wasn't required and we only ever had one pop quiz. Study & you will get an A.

Hands down, one of the best math teachers I've ever had. He does heavily weigh the tests on your grade but his lectures are very helpful and he gives sample exams that more or less mirror the real exams so studying your notes and the sample exams will get you far in his class.

I took Math 1 in Spring 2016. He is one of the best teacher for Math in San Joaquin Delta college. His lecture is easy and clean. Exams are the same level as his lecture. Many people got perfect score. His homework is online based homework. Each problem, you have 5 or 6 chances to get it right. Online hw teach u step by step, u can't get it wrong.

I've always had trouble with math, mostly because it's not a favorite of mine. I did well in Prof. Barkers online class and when I had questions, he was quick to reply and very helpful. I would highly recommend taking his classes! He provided the class with an in-person review for the final, along with a review guide that helped a lot!

Very respectful and thorough professor when it comes to teaching. Online homework (easy to fall slack off with) is only 10% of your grade, but the 5 or 6 exams are worth 80% of your grade, so if you don't understand, ask him and he will gladly answer your questions!

Best math teacher by far, he teaches the subject with simplicity and shows proofs of many of the techniques involved in calc 1. 10% homework for grade,80%chapter exams,10% final. Sample exams and nothing to crazy on tests, it tests your knowledge of calc and not your luck. Would recommend

38A. Online hw that is all due at the end of the semester, I got an F on it because I got lazy and didnt finish half the assignments. He reviews what will be on the test before the exam, which gets you prepared really well(Try not to be absent before exams). Overall amazing teacher, I hate math and still learned, did well on exams, ended with a B.

Super nice guy. I took his class online. I accidentally missed 3 assignments in a row during spring break & I emailed him letting him know I messed up (because he previously sent an email saying he would drop students who were behind on work) He was super understanding! He let me make up the work when I could without me asking for an extension.

Barker is on of the best professors at Delta. He knows his stuff very well and explains things thoroughly. Only downside is I thought I signed up for his CUL ART 001 because I am a culinary student, only to realize that all he does is talk about math and derivatives. This man is a straight genius and magician: I mean the things this guy comes up with is absolutely remarkable. His discovery of integrating, deriving and the entire Fundamental Theory of Calculus has truly left a mark on the world.

Alright! first of all hats off to this professor. He is the only one that can make you love Math. I loved Math from the very beginning but professor Barker made me love it more. My parents wants me to be in Medical field but looks like i would ditch that field lol. Overall, very nice professor. You can get an A with a little bit of more study.

Barker has a passion for mathematics that is apparent in his teaching. Classes consist of lectures. He goes out of his way to make sure everyone is following him. The end of every section is followed up with an exam. There are about 6 exams which constitute 80% of your grade. These are tough. Must work hard. Great learning opportunity. Recommend!

Good professor. He teaches the material well and answers questions well. Tests are 80% of grade 10% homework and 10% final. The tests are easy if you come to class and know what your doing in the problem. I never felt uneasy about asking a question. The only thing I would say is to answer his questions, he seems frustrated when people don't answer

Professor Barker is amazing. I recommend going to all lectures and attempting to do the homework by the end of week so it won't pile up at the end of the semester. By the way homework is all online. His test are fairly easy. He does review before a test and gives sample exams. Also do not be afraid to approach him for any questions.

Professor Barker is the king of Math at Delta. Definitely enroll to his class before it fills up. Everyone knows he's the best.

Great lecturer and keeps everything interesting. Goes slow with theory to not lose anyone. The labs were fun and were pretty simple, and the tests were not that hard either. If you show up to class and do a handful of problems through the book and understand whats going on you'll breeze by. I would recommend him to anyone, amazing teacher.

He is the most awesome professor I have ever met. He goes out of the way just to make his student comfortable in any situation. He is available at all times and is a quick responder. One should definitely take his classes as he teaches Math in a very fun way. Not to forget, he makes students laugh out loud number of times.

If you can take Barker, do it. He tries to always mention how the math he is teaching could be useful in the real world, which makes the math more interesting than: solve this, memorize this function, because; this is what the class is about. Fun lectures and wants students to do well. Overall the BEST math teacher I have had at Delta.

I took Barker for math 1 and 2, and sad he's not teaching 3. His lectures were so spot on that buying the book was unnecessary. He doesn't grade the exams, so if you see unreasonable points being deducted, you can wager with him and will give you some points back. overall, great dude and best teacher!

I love this professor! He teaches very well. I understand all the concepts he teachers and if I need extra help, his homework platform that he uses is webassign. It provides good questions and also has video example just in case you needed a little more help on it. His homework usually isn't long. He also has practice exams for each one online.

Barker is a true gem that can't be found find anywhere else. The most that is liked about Barker is his way of seeing student's point of views and answering questions with neat perfection. Barker seems utterly superhuman while performing lecturing and will enlighten those in the presence of his resplendent being.

Attendance should be seen as mandatory for any math class, but you won't want to miss Professor Barker's lectures. He lectures in a way that always keeps his audience involved. He is an excellent math teacher. I should know, I've taken him for calc1, calc 2 and now calc 4. I highly recommend taking Professor Barker if you can.

For anyone who is nervous about math, I highly recommend Prof Barker. He is very straightforward with lectures and even color codes problems so they are very easy to follow along with. The class is test heavy, and 80% of your grade is dependent on how well you do. Homework is 10% and your final is 10%. Barker is hilarious and keeps class engaging

Very carrying for his students. He will use a whole class sections just to answer students questions. Let the class decide when they want to take the test to allow students ample time to study.

IF YOU HAVE AN OPTION TO DROP OTHER PROFESSORS AND TAKE HIS CLASS, then just go for it. You will NOT regret that. He has earned these comments and ratings. Hands down the best Math professor I have ever had. For any math class for Calc 1 and above take him. Tests are hard as expected, but with test review and practice exams its not hard to study. Lectures are clear and at a good speed. Home work is due at the end but its smart to do it over the course it will help with exam scores. Dont skip lectures

Be prepared to work for your grade. Daily lectures, each around 1-2 hours. On top of homework that took me about 3 hours since I wanted to comprehend the topics. His lectures are a must watch to understand the concepts. The practice problems for the homework's saved me. Just study and the class is easy.
