Fairly new teacher so he's still trying to figure out what should be expected. In result he sometimes grades fairly hard but he will always show you were he believes you went wrong and will work with you to get it right. He knows what he's talking about and he keeps the class involved and entertained.

This is a really good professor, regardless of what the other comments say. I am not a great writer, but Professor boss really did help me learn how to write well. Along with my intellectual benefit, he is a great all round person that is fun to talk with and is quite funny. Would definitely recommend.

Mr. Boss is definitely learning new techniques to become a better professor, sometimes he may seem a little unsure of himself but overall he shows knowledge of the course material he is presenting to the class and I have been able to improve my writing ability through his teachings.

He's a pretty nice guy. I could tell in the beginning that he was still getting used to the teaching position, but he quickly seemed to grow more confident. His grading of papers is very tough. I often do not understand the correlation between his commentary and the grade I got. Sometimes he'd comment a few errors and suddenly it's a C-.

I very much enjoyed the course. You will learn a lot in this course if you put in the effort. While his grading isn't harsh, he will give you good feedback and tries to help you improve. He also gives the ability to revise assignments after they are submitted for a higher grade.

I enjoyed this class because not only were the class discussion helpful and fun, but I was able to learn helpful strategies that would improve my writing and revisions skills for future college papers that I will for sure be writing.

There's a lot of reading during the beginning. Then a lot of essays as the semester goes on, but it's an English class so that's expected. He's a pretty tough grader, but its not out of spite its so you can better understand the material. Everything is pretty straightforward with him. He's a good guy and a good teacher. You''l have fun.

As a hands on learner this class is very enjoybale. The class is not necessarily a lecture but an interactive discussion. If you are shy, you can still thrive in the class, however there is a weekly participation grade. This grade is a reflection of attendance as well. There are weekly readings & reflections. Only a few essays and 1 group project.

He is actually one of my favorite professors. I have had a few bad literature professors and English ones and he is my favorite. I love how every class is a discussion, he values the opinions of his students, and the reading we do are fairly good.

Great Professor, gives honest grades and encourages you to do your best work. Allows three passes for late assignments- even serious essays. If you participate in class- which you shouldn't be afraid to do because he if very fun and easy-going- you will also get a great participation grade. TAKES TIME TO GIVE GREAT FEED BACK ON EVERYTHING!!!!

Not too much work load, however can be a tough grader. With a little effort and good writing skills this is an easy class to get a good grade.

Professor Boss is really cool and makes lectures and course work fun. For one of our assignments we watched a movie and a tv show to change things up from just reading. His feedback on papers is great not just your standard generic responses. If you submit all your work you will be fine! If you can take a class with him you should do it!

Professor Boss is an amazing professor for English. I definitely recommend taking him as his lectures are always interesting and knows how to engage with the students. Just be prepared to do work in this class (as you would any other class, it's college). He is a fairly tough grader on essays, however his comments and feedback on essays are good.

Pretty good English professor and I hate English. Classes are pretty engaging and require that you try to participate. In order to participate better, it'd be wise to read whatever was assigned before class. On papers he's tough at grading. Don't forget the works cited page.

I loved Chris's class because not only is he very good at teaching you to be a better writer, but he is a very entertaining teacher. I don't think there was a single day where he didn't either teach me something new or make me laugh. He also becomes very close to his students, and overall is very likable.

His grading is not very clear at first since he doesn't really use a rubric. Hard to know what he is going to give your assignment, but eventually you get a feel for his scale. Attendance /participation is part of your grade so show up and speak up. He makes class worth going to.

I really enjoyed this class, even though his grading is tough. However, I do believe he is tough on your work to help you improve on your writing. Also, the classroom environment is very comfortable.

You cannot just slide by in this class, you need to attend class and do the readings in order to contribute to class discussions because participation matters. Amazing professor! As an incoming freshman I was nervous about the switch from high school to college writing. Professor Boss made it seamless! He really cares about making you a better writer, he is always willing to help outside or after class. I'd love to have him again.

Professor Boss made me realize that I want to be a writer (and I'm an engineering major). He will put in way more effort than is required of him to help you improve, and is very patient and insightful. Your talent level doesn't matter; he will help you to become a better writer and reader regardless. I looked forward to his class every week.

Prof. Boss was a really nice person and a great professor, but the amount of homework in the class is tiring. It's not that much writing for each homework but there is just so many of them that it feels tedious. There are 3 essays including the final essay. He starts off being lenient with grading but then starts to grade more strict.

He is a great professor, he is accessible outside of class and he is very friendly. He cares a lot about his students and respects everyone's ideas and opinions even if they are a bit of a stretch. He grades things pretty quickly, the max I ever had to wait for an assignment to be graded was 1 week.

Every week you are expected to have the readings ready. But do not stress, they are all quick reads and the majority are fun. The paper at easy to write if you do put the work into them. Great Professor, a little harsh on the grading of papers, BUT he gives you a chance to revise and fix the grade (he basically tells you what to change). He's funny and makes the class interesting, I would definitely take another class with him. I think he allows two absences, but the conversations in class make assignments easier.
