He is a great teacher, if you have him as a teacher, you are lucky. he is so funny and doesnt care what people think of him. Their is a reason for everything he does. Chris is a great teacher. He does hands projects to open up your mind in writting. He is not easy, he does give WORK, but way he grades is all upon yourself. He looks at self-worth. If you show that you are trying, thats what he will base upon.

I had Bursk for Comp 110 + 111, and he is awesome! He could teach at any college he wanted to, take him, it's worth it. The course is a fair amount of work and you can't miss class. He doesn't just teach out of a book, he gives you something that you can take with you even after the class ends... as cliche as it sounds. He has so much to offer.

THE BEST LITERATURE PROFESSOR BCCC HAS TO OFFER!!! Without Question. If you love writing, reading or just generally being intentionally strange, you will love Chris' class. The work load IS INTENSE, I cant stress that enough, so if your looking for an easy A dont waste his precious time. 25 page research paper, instead of the normal 10. Worth it!!!

Chris is one of those special teachers you read about in books. He's brilliant, and he'll change the way you think about education and, probably, the world in general. Though he'll make you work hard in class, you won't mind. He is a truly great educator.

had to drop the class for personal reasons, but he was a good teacher, he's a bit of a fruit loop but he cares very much for his students, you can call him at home and he'll be glad to help you out, I plan on taking him again

Very friendly and helpful, but it stops there. Demands too much personal information. Definitely has a political agenda, and inserts his commentary into everything he can. Fancies himself a sociologist, but has no true understanding of the subject. Liberal students love him, and he brings in money for BCCC, but moderates and conservatives beware!

Well, all the others reviews are correct - Chris Bursk is one of the best teachers at Bucks! I really had no interest in poetry before this class but he changed that. Every class was interesting and fun and you never know what to expect next. He is kind and cares about his students. He encourages everyone to express themselves. Great class!

i took this guy a year ago or so and never remembered to rate him... loved his class so much, probably wrote like 17 papers but each was easy and fun topics for the most part... hate those teachers that grade your whole semester on 3 papers... i was recommended him and now i'm recommending him, take this guy, chris is the best!!!!

I took Chris in 2002 for Comp 1 when just had him again for Comp 2 after many years off from school. His energy level has not changed, his humor has not changed, and the quality of the lessons learned in class have remained priceless. I wish there was a Comp 3, 4, and 5.

I had Chris for Comp 110 and 111. Litr 231, 232, and 273. He was a really great professor. Alot of hands on activites. Alot of group work activities. Also alot of reading and writting. Just read the assignments giving and complete the written assignments and youll do fine. I recommend him. He is crazy and fun.

Chris is my favorite professor at Bucks! He was always very clear with the topics, and even though the papers were sometimes difficult, he always gave all of the students plenty of chances to redo the paper and get a higher grade. I received an A in his class and am very happy with his teaching. He is the only English teacher I'll take at Bucks!

BEST TEACHER EVER-quirky, off-the-wall, fun! Class is based on writing a 25pg essay (on ANYTHING) Although daunting, u have months to prepare for it (if u make an effort &meet the page requirements, u get a good grade). Class consists of group projects, reading plays/poetry and LAUGHS. I enjoyed this class & now have no problem writing long essays!

After being nearly defeated by another COMP professor I got my confidence back in writing. Dr. Bursk carefully reads your papers, allowing time for editing. I enjoyed going to events for extra credit. I accomplished 25+ pages of research and enjoyed it! He is truly one of Buck's greatest professors EVER!

I took Chris in fall 2012. Phenomenal teacher. I had to drop the class because of personal issues but he did his best to accomodate me. His feedback was always very helpful and he made his lessons very memorable. Definitely looking to take his classes again.

I like to read very much, that being said, LITR-232 is a very intensive reading class, along with a lot of writing. HOWEVER, I never EVER met a professor that cared more about their students, and did an incredible job of getting students actively engaged in learning. I'm a Nursing major, but I would take his class every semester if I could.

He is such a great teacher! He actually teaches you. This was my second time taking Comp 120. The first was with Luciano and I received a D+. I got an A in Bursk's class. Yes, you do have to do a 25 page paper instead of 12 but I thought doing the 12 page paper was way harder than the 25 page, plus you can choose your topic.

Such a fun class to take and you really connect with other students and gain an appreciation for literature. High charging Universities are at a loss without this Grade A teacher, made my semester :)

Chris Bursk is an awesome English professor. He seems a little weird and quirky at first, but believe me, he is awesome! He gives a lot of work, but it is still manageable. I (and almost the entire class) was terrified of the 25 page research paper but he works with you so much that you should not be worried. After every essay he gives great feedback and two grades.. The grade you got and the grade it will have if you fix the stuff he gives feedback on. Great teacher, he is very eccentric in a wonderful way!

Dr. Bursk was a great professor for COMP111. He was assign a 25 page research essay in the beginning of the class and gives students the entire semester to complete it. Students are allowed to choose any topic they want to research about. Dr. Bursk gives great feedback orally, but his handwriting is impossible to understand.

Mr. Bursk is hands-down my favorite professor from my entire college career. By far one of the most difficult classes (25 page paper WHAT?!) But he made it incredibly possible to do. I am by no means a good writer, I actually despise writing. But I am proud to say that I finished the paper and received an A for the class.

Chris is awesome! 25 page research paper is intimidating but honestly it is done through the whole semester and it isn't hard. He makes class interesting, fun and he is quite funny. For those who use this as an update page on Bursk, I am sorry to inform you that he passed away back in June. I had him his last semester, and he was the best I had from Bucks. He was so funny and very interactive. But that whole time, we were completely unaware that he was battling cancer. He didn't want that to get in the way of his lessons.

Always brought in little gifts to go with the theme of the class. Super sweet teacher and always tried to make class entertaining!
