This guy was great. He taught in a way were you didnt think you were doing much but in the end you end up knowing a ton! Wonderful class.

Cool laid back funny guy! Very knowledgable! Easy class, everything is a completion grade. Dont need to buy book, but you will beed it for homework, just use it at the library. So this teacher is honestly my favorite teacher I have ever had in college!!! He is so funny and class is definantely not boring! He doesn't make you buy a book like most teacehers so thats awesome. And his assignments are so easy I recommend his class!

Funny?Sure,for the first 3,4 classes,then it just becomes repetitive.By the end of the semester you feel that you are waisting 3hrs sitting in a class room listening the same things over and over again.Be sure to have time to spare running around to accomplish some of the assignments as well,missing those will take your grade from A to C.

Hilarious dude! SUPER COOL. Great class with fun discussions. He is helpful, laid back, and really funny. (The video in which he had women "rate" him still stayed with me). At the least you'll develop a crush on this short little man and his quirky self. Easy A!

Easiest class you will ever take. If you actually want to learn art app I would take another class- if you just want the credit take him! You just talk mostly. NO TESTS/ESSAYS/FINAL. Must have a sense of humor to take his class.

A straightforward class. Be punctual & attend all classes. Communication is via email or in class only. A mandatory visit to the museum of fine arts Houston and an art reception of your choice (very enjoyable). These two are a major part of your grade. Check the attitude as the door. It was a fun class and an easy A if you the work. A nice guy!

Great class to take if you are looking to just get the credit. If you don't make an A, you are the problem. He jokes ALOT.. sometimes to much, and he isn't really funny at all. I found myself not wanting to go to class because haft the time you don't do anything but listen to him talk about nothing really. BUT easy class, and he is a fair grader.

The best teacher to take for Art credit. Super easy class. Grades by participation. Book not necessary to buy and can be used in the library. Two out pf class projects: 1)Visit the Houston museum on art 2) Attend art reception. You have to be EXTREMELY lazy to not get an A in this class. He's a great teacher!

This is probably one of the easiest classes you can take you don't have to really read the textbook and he doesn't bore you with power points. He's one of the easiest teachers I've had and if you fail this class you did something horribly wrong

AMAZING professor ! Easy "A". Hardly used the book. All grades are based on completion, you either get a 0 or 100. Just do the work (: Not hard at all. You write all the test and quizzes. He's super nice. I loved his class ! GO TAKE HIMMMM !!!

Super easy class!! Everything is a completion grade and you always have to attend class and do not be late! You write your own final and you do have to visit a museum and go to an art reception, yet besides that keep up with the dates! This was the easiest class I ever took!

Great teacher! Knows his stuff, and is straight to the point. It's an easy class if you do your work and pay attention to the deadlines. He's a funny guy too if you know what he's talking about. He made me love art even more than I already did. Totally recommend him!

My first impression was very low. He used profanity at least 10 times on the first day; which is unprofessional to me. He also speaks condescendingly to students at times, so if this bothers you then don't take his class. The workload is pretty easy. But his lack of passion for the subject is disappointing & makes going to class monotonous.

Take this class if you have a large load of classes....too easy. Attend and Art Reception of your choice and visit a museum. All homework is easier than elementary. Everything is a completion grade!!

He took attendance at the end of the class. It's soo easy! HW was always e-mailing a question to read out loud to the class of a chapter. That's pretty much it and a few projects here and there. He's pretty interesting and he loves to talk for sure. Young guy and talks about how much he makes an hour A LOT

This is the best art teacher at lone star UP.He's essay and teaches in a fun manner. I would recommand you to take this teachers if you need art credit. He's one of the best teaches i ever had. The guy is hilarious.

I straight up hate Art. But I love this class. Professor Carver makes this class interesting and super easy. I can't imagine anyone failing this class unless you're begging for it.

Although this class is easy, it doesn't lack the learning fundamentals. I came to this class without an interest in art and a bit derisive towards the subject. However, Carver completely changed my perception of it. I wish other professors taught by his teaching methods. Super cool guy & a very funny personality. I highly recommend this class.

the best professor ever

This is my first time writing a review and rating a professor ever. I took this class at Tomball during summer of this year. Words cannot describe how easy, laid back and fun this class was, have to say I was a bit sad after the class ended. He knows his arts and is very passionate about. Take this class if you still need arts. You won't regret it!

Professor Carver allows his students to enjoy art. His class was stress-free and he as a professor was laid-back. Make sure to turn in your homework on time.

He is a great professor and he is funny! He is so easy, on every chapter in the book all you got to do is make up one question for each chapter and summit them in when there due. Plus the little projects y'all do here and there but there so easy. You don't use the book hardly, no tests or quizes

I LOVED this class! I had no interest in art at all before I took this class, but now I have a whole new respect for it. He will teach you things without you even realizing you're learning. No tests throughout the semester. Just send in questions from the book, go to an art reception, visit a museum and the final. VERY EASY!!! Definitely recommend!

This is truly the easiest course you will ever have to take in your entire life. There are no tests or quizzes what so ever. You literally have to try to fail his course. He's hilarious and just plain awesome. Take him!

One of the best teachers ever. Literally the easiest. Can be funny at time. Weekly assignments aren't hard to do, just spend half an hour in the library to complete the whole semester's assignment. Super easy A, didn't even use the book found a PDF online with chapter questions, just rewrote them. Just show up to class, every week you write one question about something you found interesting per chapter assigned and read it out loud in class. Couple of projects super easy. He's kind of quirky, but has an interesting and unique curriculum. If you don't mind traveling around Houston, take him. I don't think he considers that some of his students don't drive.

Very interesting class. A lot of people mention how easy the course is, but leave out how interesting it is. It will leave you with some sense of curiosity for the art world. He does deduct points for being tardy of your overall grade, so don't take if you tend to be late. Overall, great class that I do not regret taking.

Professor Carver was an excellent teacher! Very fair grader and flexible on all assignments. Take him if you need Art as an elective, you will NOT regret it! And DO NOT be late to class! He is on point with attendance! Do your work and you can get an easy A.

He's a cool guy for the first day of class. He is definitely different from all other teachers by not making you memorize for a test and go home. You will enjoy his class and learn. :)

What an easy class to pass! He drops 5% off your total grade for every unexcused absence up to three absences, So if you want the A, you will have to come to class every day. There were no tests foris class, there were no papers, in fact the hardest thing I actually had to do for his class was take a couple pictures outside of class, and we had to take a trip to the Houston Museum of Fine Arts. There are no tests or quizes.

Like everyone else said, he's a pretty funny guy and an easy class. But he's also good at what he does, even though the class was really easy there were come things that caught my attention and professor carver does a good job at making art interesting.

If you are looking to take art appreciation, do yourself a favor and take professor Carver. He is an incredibly fascinating person with a wealth of interesting knowledge to share. He could seriously give a full TED talk on just about any minute aspect of art you could ever conjure. His lectures are really fun, and his class is an easy A.

You have to be present in class. He takes off 5% off your grade for absences but caps it at 3 absences. He is REALLY funny and I enjoyed the class. He definitely gets you to have an opinion about art but doesnt force his opinions on you. AWESOME Prof, easy A is you do your work and attend class!

I took quantitative dSGN at UT with Dr. Carson this fall and he was very good. This is a 14 week class 2 exams and 16 projects you have to draft using CAD technology. I took Dr. Carson once before in 1972 for weldingIV during my undergrad and to this day I never forget how much time he spent with his students. Great Professor

Mr. Carver is an amazing teacher, I will have to take this class again due to the fact that I had to miss a lot of class days, but regardless he was very easy and the projects were simple.

easy and interesting class, set up very organized. no tests or essays, just 3 fun projects that you have the entire semester to do. he's very straight forward sometimes it's funny sometimes he can come off as rude...

He teaches from his own point of views. He doesn't go off PowerPoints. Very clear instructions on assignments. Carver is by far the best professor I've taken at Lonestar. He is simply awesome and makes the class enjoyable because he has real passion for art and it's noticeable. I can tell that he loves what he does and that is what makes him great.

He's freaking hilarious!!!! He makes learning fun and interesting, he understands that not everyone wants to be an art major. The assignments are basically do them and you get an A. If more teachers had the same attitude as him, the world would be a better place, and not because he makes it easy but because he doesn't give you any stupid BS.

He is crazy, but as long as you aren't an ignoramus and do your work and come to class you will get a 100. Don't buy the book just check it out from the library for a few hours to get your work done for the semester. SUPER EASY CLASS . The simplest professor ever, you literally just show up and do the homework and you will pass, towards the end, you will have major projects due but he gives you the whole semester to do it. Also, the only people who state negative things are the people who come in late on the regular or never show up until things are due.

Here's an honest review as I just finished taking ARTS 1301 in Summer I 2017. EASY A , BUT PARTICIPATION GRADE IS BS. Every ART class is easy. This class was easy. The ONLY issue I had with this Professor was his grading criteria for attendance. If you miss 1 class day, he will knock off 5% off your final grade (which is BS). Overall, a good prof.

Took him for summer. The final is written by the students, and he grades on four easy projects. You need to be there on time.

Easy!! He understands that the class is only an art class, & shouldn't be so heavy. TAKE NOTES on the four projects he gives you, as he clearly states that he does not repeat the instructions for them after the 1st & 2nd day of class. The HW is 1 question per chapter, and final is so simple. TAKE HIM IF YOU GET THE CHANCE & DON'T MISS A CLASS!!

Take him, you will regret it if you take anyone else. Impossible to make anything less than an A. He is very interesting and you will learn way more about the art world with him than anyone else. Attendance does matter, so just don't miss class. Perfect class to put in with a busy schedule.

Easy Professor! I took his class during the summer and his class was by far the easiest. Mostly just have to show up for class he takes points off everyday that your absent so you must attend! The final was easy too all it was is a review of questions that the students wrote and that was it. If you need to take an art class take him!

I mean easiest class ever. You can't fail its impossible, but talks too much and makes art seem like a joke.

He's super fun while he teaches and makes the experience of learning the material fun as well. he can get caught up in a story and will talk a lot but that's really the only thing bad about the class. Only way to fail is to not show up and to not work on you weakly homework which is in the book and takes like 10-20 min to do if that.

I had to take this class but he ended up becoming my favorite teacher of all time. His work load is very light, but at the same time you will learn and retain more than you ever thought you would. That's how great his lectures are. I took this class about a year ago and can still remember most verbatim. Interesting, stress free, and stimulating.
