DON'T DO IT,unless you know the material. This man complicates the easiest material, and there are quizzes EVERY CLASS, no make ups, no nada.....you've been warned...and I received a B...so I'm not complaining because I am upset about my grade, I would avoid this instructor if possible
the class goes fast, he explains very well. he gives you different methods to solve problems..you choose the one that works for you. it is true that he applies quizes every week, but if you use the book, which is not required it would help you to undestand the material better. i'd recommended the class with him is easy
If you want to succeed in this class you need to be proactive from day one. Learn on your own and practice, practice, practice. The prof is not a bad person, but when he talks, he might as well be speaking in tongues. When he asks whether we have a question or not, you can literally hear crickets chirping... That pretty much sums it up.
This prof is super hard, no make ups, he's a nice person but the class will drive you crazy you need to do alot of HW. don't take it if you can
His class is super hard. He is not caring of your personal life. If you can't make it to a test then to bad. No make up on anything. He makes you feel really dumb when you ask questions. I recieved a B by the grace of God and lots of tutoring. Good luck
Good teacher, explains material fast but good. If you have a question just ask he will not intimidate you. Showing up for class and doing all the homework and quizzes, and doing tests is mandatory if you want to pass. There are two homework assignments and 2 quizzes each with, rarely 3. I recommend him.
His class is not hard. He teaches good and answers all questions. Don't miss class it does affect your grade unless it's a review day. Do all online assignments. He gives test reviews it does not get easier than this.
He is a very straightfoward teacher. He doesn't require attendance but he gives take home tests so u might want to show up. Really good at explaining concepts and will help if you ask.
Mr. King was a good professor, he always explained everything that we did on the homework and did reviews before each test that were almost exact to the test. There is a lot of homework after every class and you actually have to do that and the reviews to do good in this class. Overall, I loved this class.
Mr. King is a smart and nice guy, but I had better math teachers. If he would explain the theories behind the problems I would have liked the class more. He expects rote memorization. 5th test is insanely hard!, but he drops one if you do well on the final.
Not very helpful. He takes a 10 minute break in the middle of class, plus he lets class out 20 minutes early everyday. He takes away 30 minutes out of my study time when he could be doing more examples. that adds up to several hours of class time that has been wasted, and he benefits from not having to work. I'm very disappointed in his work ethic.
If you have a drive to succeed in his class, you will make it. He is great at giving plenty of examples, and will even write down an example and have you solve it on your own, while walking around the room to make sure every student is understanding it. My only complaint is that we had no physical texbook, only the online material.
He is so complicated to understand, and does not explain material well. I am a straight A student, and barley received a b in his class...
This class was average, not very difficult if you study the material. Homework and quizzes are online. 4 exams in class. Attendance not required. He gives exam reviews for extra credit.
Relies heavily on MyMathLab, that's the worst thing; no text book. So expect plenty of homework. Offers extra credit for tests. Two group projects during the semester and the final is worth 20% of your grade. Other than that, he tends to rely on memorization heavily; sometimes not explaining why a formula even works. Not bad, but not great either.
Mr. King is an "okay" kind of teacher. Be prepared to self-study and do a lot of problems by yourself. Everything is graded. If another professor is available, take that person instead.
Mr.King is a very nice professor, however with that being said this is a class that requires a lot and I mean alot for work that you do not get credit for.His assignment are all done on the My Math lab site and you do not get points for it, and If you do not level up(which is extra pts to earn) you can pretty much forget a good grade in this class.
This teacher is beyond confusing, the way he explains the formulas and gives examples. Doesn't even know how to explain why something should be done in a math problem. Goes way to fast. If you have a question about a problem he makes it more confusing. Not really a great math teacher. I would not recommend him.
Tough teacher but if you put in the work you will get results. Not very willing to work with students. Does provide formulas for exams which is a HUGE help.
If you're looking for an easy teacher go somewhere else, this guy isn't easy but he sure knows how to prepare you. If you're taking pre-algebra you can be confident you'll be ready for the next class. I took him for 128 and I'm glad I did. I'm currently taking him for calculus and the class is pretty much a continuation of 128.
Easily the best math teacher I have ever had. The material can be difficult but he explains it well and gives a ton of examples. Just make sure you take notes because he won't repeat what he's already done (thankfully).
I took him for the summer semester for Calculus I, and I thought it would have been an overkill, but he's actually a really amazing teacher. You will definitely have to study for class, but its Calculus I, if your teacher is easy, you're probably not learning. He provides a lot of practice in class, as long as you can keep up, you will pass easily.
When I took his Calculus 2 class I thought it was extremely difficult and he assigned a lot of work. I am grateful now, however, as I am taking a differential equations class and am using the notes that king gave me more than notes I am taking from my current professor. Definitely tough, but worth it if you really want to learn.
If you attend class and do the homework, you will do good in the class. Teacher was almost always available prior to class in the tutoring center to help. As long as you are not disrespectful he is very amenable. Our Calculus III class was fun and we laughed a lot. Overall good instructor.
I get the correct answer i show my work and he still says i don't understand how you got the answer, sigh, serious i got the answer the way you taught me. Gives review tests but they are preschool when the real test comes around. I was going to take him again but i started getting a gut feeling he doesn't like me at the end of the year. No textbook
Pros: -Able to translate complex mathematics in such a way that is comprehensible to students. -Gives plenty of example problems (simple & tricky) during lecture. -Clear grading criteria and grades exams fairly. Final Thought: My strong foundation in mathematics is due solely to Professor King and his teaching style. I highly recommend taking him.
Professor King was very nice and explained everything over and over again. He made mistakes sometimes but he was very patient with the students and did his best to answer all the questions and misunderstandings. I'd take his class again!
I took this over the summer as an 8 week class, during the class I thought it was too hard, after going onto the next class I realized he prepared us SO well. Great professor I took him for Calc 2 as well. Its hard but worth it He does not give + or - which is nice, but be prepared to do lots of work.
I took professor King for Calculus 1 as well, but I took someone else for Calculus 2 and failed. So I went back to him for Calculus 2 and it made so much more sense. It is difficult because the concepts are difficult, if you are an Engineering major I suggest taking him he helps with the applications side of things which helps it make sense.
Prof King is straight up, passionate about calc and instruction. Show up to class, do your work, repetition practice, prepare for exams, ask questions. Slow algebra skills, use ALEKS, tutor, get up to speed. Got my degree in geology; hinged on passing this class. I showed up, I listened, I worked, job done. Intense 8 weeks. Thank You CKing!!
I took Professor King in an 8 week course for Calculus 2. Professor king is incredibly straight forward in his lecture and he did allow for us to use our notes and books on tests. Rather than memorization of formulas he is more concerned with your understanding of the subject matter. He's a passionate professor and is always willing to help.
Mr. King is nice, but if you have a chance to take the same Math class with another professor, do it. He hates when students ask questions about certain Math concepts he is teaching if they get confused. On this tests, you can have the right answer, but if you don't show your work in the way he explains during his lectures, you will loose points.

Christopher King offers a clear and concise calculus 1 course with few surprises. He sends out an algebra review a month before class with everything you need to already know to succeed in his class, and this is your best tool for success. I took him for 181 over the summer in the 8 week format and found the pace acceptable. Would recommend.
I don't have anything further to say, I did not do well, it was partially my fault, but he was not good at explaining anything.
THIS WAS A HYBRID CLASS. Most of class was taken online. My biggest warning here is that you must self teach with this class. He tells you up front that he won't do any teaching. You show up once a week and take a quiz. Other than that your left to bash yourself against your computer screen trying to learn by yourself. Scary and stressful class.
Chris King is not a good professor, he doesn't respond to emails that involve meeting with him about questions in class, but... this is a calculus class so of course students will have questions. He tends get annoyed if students ask too much questions during his lectures. I would recommend this class with another teacher.
He knows what he is talking about and what he is doing, but then you take a quiz or test for the day and leave. All your notes and hw are online and I would not recommend this class unless you like to read notes and teach yourself. He tells you " I will not be teaching."
Took Prof King for Math 95 hybrid style. There are 4 tests and a final exam. The final is worth 30% of your grade. There is a lot of homework!! If math isn't your speciality I do not recommend you to take this class. Asked for help once and he simply told me to look at the notes. BUT if you have some knowledge in math, go for it.
Examples worked in class do not match the homework and tests. open book and notes but the book is absolutely useless. Notes help simply because the formulas are useful for the test questions, exams are very difficult because they are much harder than class examples.
Professor king is extremely smart however I wouldn't recommend him unless you are decently good in math. Unfortunately, he doesn't know how to answer questions. Prepare to take a quiz every week with homework due for each lesson. There are also 4 tests and a final that replaces your lowest test grade. HE DOES NOT DO MAKEUPS!!!
Professor King is really knowledgeable on Math, but he does not do a good job of explaining it. The examples in class are really easy compared to his quizzes and tests. He also doesn't like to meet during his office hours if you have any questions, clearly you are on your own in his class. I recommend taking this class with another professor.
He does a terrible job at explaining and you're basically on your own if you want to do well.
Do not take this class if you're not very good at math or simply hate it. You are expected to teach yourself. Professor King does know what he's talking about and is very intelligent, however his quizzes and tests are much more difficult than what you learn on Aleks (the program where we do our work). You are really on your own.
Mr. King was a really great teacher! Math has never been a strong suit & I got an A. I found the way he explained things easy to understand. He repeats himself a lot which I liked b/c it's easier to remember. As long as you do the HW (which there is a lot of), take good notes & stay on track you'll do great. You def have to put in effort to pass
I took professor king for calculus 3. The course is packed full of subject matter but Profressor King covered the material with a surprising amount of depth. 90% of the homework isn't graded but you should do it anyway as the tests are much harder than what is gone over in class. He is a very caring professor. Overall, easy class.
The first 3 exams& content was easy to follow but the last 2 exams were take-home& was hell. They were meant to take you the entire week and were unnecessary. I learned nothing doing those exams but they are doable. The last month, the content was rushed and I don't think I absorbed much. I had to read my old calc book which helped a lot more.
Prof King seems like he is a cool guy outside of class but there is so much homework every class you feel like you're gonna die. You are relearning math all over again but I think sometimes he forgets we didn't learn these new methods so it takes us a while to get. He spent so much time on cartoon math that the second unit felt rushed. Math sucks:(
He teaches good, but goes over too fast on lectures. I had a hard time understanding the stuff he taught. He's a nice guy and all but expects you to actually know the stuff by hand prior in class.
Taking Professor King class is by far the worst college experience ever! He appears angry and resentful when students ask questions, He uses the Aleks math lab leaving you on the computer 10-25 hours a week! His grading methods are unclear leaving you wondering! So clarify, clarify, clarify! If you want to learn math and a good grade- skip him.
Professor King was one of the worst professors I have ever had. He doesn't seem to care about his students and if you ask him a question, he responds with a "You should already know this" type of response. He is not very friendly, either. In terms of schoolwork, the usual Mymathlab nonsense. A test per chapter that isn't too hard. Good Luck!
Doesnt like to repeat himself so if you dont understand youre on your own . If you can get another professor do it !!!
Prof. King was awesome. All of our work was done on ALEKS, which included quizzes and Test Reviews. The actual tests were paper tests taken on campus. He provided notes on each module to review with and extra credit assignments to boost our grades. He also values hard work and is very prompt to respond to students' questions. Definitely recommend!
I took professor King for my math 95 class in an 8-week summer session. He is helpful to students that care. He isn't going to teach you things you should already know so make sure you know your basics. It's an easy A if you put in some effort. He's my favorite math professor! I plan to take him for 181 next semester.
There is very little discussion of why things are supposed to conceptually make sense, so by the time tests roll around you can (for the most part) just do a scavenger hunt across your notes and textbook to find an answer with the exact same format. This worked until the last test where it had NO questions we covered to that extreme. What a joke.
King is a good choice for online. He quickly responded to emails. Due dates are clear and he sends reminder emails. All "homework" is done through ALEKS but he does give EC for each exam. Exams are timed and were at CSN until self-distancing. A lot of work but manageable if you do some every day.
Be ready to teach yourself.
I love math. LOVE. I always get an A in math. This dude is awful. I am two weeks into the semester and I am appalled by his failure to teach. He teaches using videos (AWFUL audio quality, talking is quiet, but the clicking of his pen is loud) of him solving problems with no context or explanation. Hopefully YouTube will get me through, what a joke.
Prof. King is literally the only teacher that I've come across thus far that genuinely doesn't care for his students. I'm in his online class right now and he doesn't teach you the material, he just answers questions for 2 hours. Be prepared to teach yourself. If you care about your gpa, PLEASE DON'T TAKE HIS CLASS.
Took online over the summer and as someone who loves math, I dreaded each class. Prof King's explanations were unclear, and he didn't put in effort to help us succeed. Also only provided practice problems and answers, no explanations. To do well, learn to teach yourself and find problems online with answers and explanations to learn from.
This professor schedules everything ahead until the end of the semester, but every single assignment, quiz, and test is back to back! Which leaves no in between time to finish everything without stressing every single day of the week.
Stellar teacher, personable, went over notes succinctly with few mistakes, hard material but willing to explain it over with, willing to negotiate on late homework, overall wonderful professor that I wish I could take for further math courses, had online
This class is super fast-paced and there are quizzes and homework due about every 3 days. Only take this class if you know a lot about algebra and trigonometry and know you can keep up in that time span. The teacher is excellent with a lot of resources available, just the course is very difficult.
He won't post his videos so you have to be at your computer at class time which defeats the point of online learning. He only has lectures, no text book, no power point, no online program. Just his hour and a half lectures. He skips questions that students ask or says something like " catch up" or " go back and work more of those". He is very lazy
BY FAR the worst professor I have ever encountered There are not enough characters for me to say why he should not be a teacher He doesnt care about his students and will not work with you under any circumstances. He is rude, lazy, and if you dont understand the material, he wont give you extra help if you cant keep up. Expect to teach yourself
Expected a difficult but manageable upper level math course. He is extremely test and quiz heavy. Expect to learn everything from youtube. There are 5 tests open note but no time to study and you will need to. End of semester is rushed with very little time to learn. Had to drop a class to have a chance. Nice professor, awful structure. Avoid.
Test heavy. Mr. King is a very nice person and very helpful if asked. However, the calc 3 class structure is difficult. There is no textbook, most tests are fair, but material towards the end of class is rushed. I would take another class with Mr. King because he is a good professor in general, but avoid calc 3 if you can. Find a class with a book.
Calculus is difficult; online calculus is very difficult. Professor King made videos for each assignment with lots of examples to use as reference. One small homework assignment each week. If your final test grade is higher than another it replaces it. Didn't see him outside class but another classmate did and said he was very friendly and helpful
you have to show up and take good notes in order to pass. Online quizzes for almost every lecture that's given. Tests are open note but trust me you'll need it, they're extremely hard. Lots of material in the lectures and it's very rushed and he skips over a lot. Just pay attention and take good notes and you should pass.
I could talk for days about this professor but short answer is: AVOID him if you can. You will NOT get an A in this class. We had 20 students and not one got an A. Highest score on final exam was an 80%. Average score was 58%. That is ridiculous. He is a relatively fair grader but the questions on tests are far too hard and way too much material.
Honestly, I did very bad in calculus 1 and I still got a B- in this class. Beware of the third exam. I completely failed it and no one got an A. There was actually a good handful that got an A overall in the class. You have to keep up with the hw, as it isn't required, as well as the quizzes and take really good notes if you want an A.
He shouldn't have such a low rating. Students struggle with this level and don't put in the effort to practice, then blame the teacher. He is great and lets you use your notes on your test, provides weekly quizzes, and gives unassigned homework. It is easier than calc 2 and is mostly vectors, derivatives, and integration.
This course was hard. The material consisted of area, volume, integration, and series. He was not good at teaching series, no one really understood it. I have taken him for both Calc 2 and 3. This course is time-consuming and practice-heavy. It is worth it with him, he lets us use our notes during tests. Weekly quizzes, and tests every 2-3 weeks.
Don't get this professor if you're bad at math. He finishes the class so fast and doesn't help with anything you need help with. There's no homework or extra credit. Lots of quizzes for each unit and about 4 or 5 tests the whole semester and the exam at the end. It was hard to understand what he was teaching.
I am TERRIBLE at math. I barely could get Cs and Ds in past math courses. Professor King was good at explaining things and he gave us class time for doing worksheets and he was open to questions and encouraged working together. The homework system did sometimes get tedious. He gave extra points for finishing the test reviews, make sure to do them!
I must say, this summer class was by far the worst. I've taken math online before, but this instructor is bad. I watched every single video that he made, but the shallow lectures lacked necessary info. I needed to go to YouTube to try to understand the subject. He graded me down for using the method I learned independently. Awful instructor.
This is not my 1st online math class but this was a really bad experience. I had to use a lot of YouTube to understand the concepts. The videos sometime do not explain in detail what he is doing but also the homework problems tend to be a lot more difficult than the examples that he is showing. When you ask a question he doesn'ttakethetimetoexplain
Professor King is great and helps the students that are willing to help themselves
I've taken this prof for 3 different courses. He's great at breaking down complex math for student-level understanding. Tests are open notes in 182, but keep in mind that means they're hard. Really appreciate he lets tablet users to refer to notes in their tablets during tests. Lowest test gets replaced with final exam score.
Professor King is a nice teacher, he responds to your questions quickly. His load consists of a quiz every other week, homework, and a final. His quizzes are tough in my opinion. If you are good at math, then his class will be a piece of cake. But for people like me, it's a very difficult class. Just stay on top of it with the homework assignments.
This was my first ever professor for a college course. He thought the course material in a way that was easily understandable.
Avoid this teacher at all costs, he's not good at all. There's not many good business calc teachers to choose from at this school, but I suggest taking someone else. He also lacks social skills and doesnt seem to be a people person. You teach yourself from mylab and he has quizzes that are sometimes different from the hw. Choose someone else!!!
Nothing out of the extreme, when putting full attention the material was manageable to comprehend. May take some outside studying to comprehend well but nothing extravagant. Multiple quizzes given throughout and only thing that really sucked was the heavy home given weekly. And when a quiz is coming up, the review and homework is still expected
This professor is terrible. He does not go into any kind of depth when giving the videos for the sections. There is a ton of homework to complete on the ALEKS and the concepts on there are harder than what he actually teaches. If you have a hard time with math then DO NOT get this professor.
Prof King is one of the best math teachers ive ever taken. I wish he was teaching calc 3. Attendance isnt mandatory but he doesnt post lectures online. His exams are hard (obvi, its calc 2) but theyre open note/textbook. Doing the homework and all the extra practice problems helps so much when studying for the exams.
Professor King is downright a terrible person. He has no respect for anyones personal life. if you need help, don't bother asking. He talks like he's better than everyone else purely because he knows more about Math than you. If you miss your C grade for your prereq by .2%, he will not curve it. He lacks empathy, care, and love for his students.
