He's a pretty good teacher, goes fast over topics but it wasn't really a problem as it is the same econ class you took in kigh school.
Excellent teacher! Class was both interesting and informative. He's also very clear about the material and about grading.
Clarke was a great teacher. Economics isn't an easy subject but he made it clearer by providing us with realistic examples. Plus, if you don't understand something he's always in his office to assist you. DEFINITELY TAKE HIM!!!
Great teacher- its tough material but i honestly enjoy going to this class. Highly recommend him.
He is a really good teacher. He gives plenty of examples which is helpful for the tests. Quizes every wednesday but are easy if you look over your notes and go to class everyday. I recommend taking him!!
Makes the subject very interesting and easy to learn. The quiz once a week is easy and they help to bring your grade up. Definitely take this teacher!!
He is by far one of my favorite teachers ever! Hes hilarious and makes class very interesting. He gives quizzes everyweek and test material comes directly from notes and past quizzes. I reccomend him highly.
He always goes over anything the class needs. He gives great examples of any situation with things I can relate to. He has a great sense of humor and always keeps the class intertained. GREAT TEACHER!! Take hime!
He is a good teacher but, you have to try. He is more than willing to help each and every student that makes an effort. He is fair, and grades work quickly. He has quiz's once a week but he only takes the top 10 grades. He dose not really use the book for his class, its for your refrence only.
Complete hottie, great teacher full of knowledge, makes class interesting. i didn't have much interest in econ and i loved this class because he just made me want to learn! tests and quizes are all very fair and he even drops a few quizes.
FANTASTIC. i hated economics in high school, but now i love it because of him. he reminds me of south park every class period. tests are just like the quizzes. you do have to study though, but you'll be fine if you attend class every time and really pay attention. how can you not pay attention to him and his humor? it's inevitable.
Best econ teacher at this school. I suck at economics but Clark was great at explaining things thoroughly. If you take good notes and go to class, you'll be fine. B is very possible, A you gotta study! his handwriting sucks. If you've gotta take econ, take it with Clark!
Good teacher, very helpful and likeable. Quizzes and tests are challenging and some questions can be very "tricky".
Awesome teacher. His lectures are interesting and he's hilarious. You have a quiz once a week that can either boost your grade or drop it. His tests are pretty hard and you realllly have to study. Some of the questions he tries to trick you a little. He's probably the best econ teacher at the school though.
His class is great. It really got me interested in economics and made things very clear. I am wondering what he would say about the people calling him a "hottie" in their reviews...I bet he would have somehting funny to say. I would say definatly take his class. Weekly quizzes help you absorb material so you dont have to study 2 hard for exams
He is very interesting and knows what he is talking about but....that doesn't make his class his class easy. You have to study b/c there is a quiz every thursday and they are application questions...good luck if you take him!!!
He's a great teacher but his quizzes and his tests are a little difficult, especially if you don't fully understand the material. Be sure to ask questions if you have a problem (he wants you to). Overall, he's an effective teacher, but u better be prepared to study a little...and you don't really need the book
I can't stand this man. He has the worst ego I've ever seen in my entire life. Basically told us to drop the class and never come back if we failed the first test. Talks about his wife too much too.
He's an awesome economics teacher. Really helped me learn what I didn't really care about previously.
He's awful. He's funny but not helpful at all. I studied for every test (only 3 including final) and went to his office for help, ended up with a D. He's advice was for me to study, as if I weren't. He's extremely arrogant and doesn't not have the best interest of the student at heart. I truly wonder why this man is a teacher at all.
Well, he is an ok teacher. I studied a good bit for his class and it didnt realy help. Only good thing is that he is a better teacher than his wife who was well ill just say special.
Clark is the easiest professor to talk to, and the best professor in the econ department. He will help his students that help themselves. If you are looking for someone to spoon feed you, you shouldn't be in college anyway...I'd highly recommend taking him.
He is a hard teacher, no denying that. I studied hard and only made a D but he is helpful. I don't think you could find a nicer guy or a better ECON teacher. My only advice: study REALLY hard for the tests because there are no quizzes/homeworks to balance it out. Always ALWAYS go to class. He notices if you don't. Oh, and STUDY!
This was the hardest class i have ever taken at GCSU! i study alot and do all the work required but still made a D..i was even taking stat and made an A, this teacher is not recommended at all! DONT TAKE! he is funny in class but nothing he talks about or gives u to study is actually on the test! worst teacher ever!
He is a really funny guy who knows how to keep his class interesting. I sat in the very back and he knew me and my friends by name. He knows if your not there but you wont pass if you dont go anyways. Study real hard and take good notes. Also do well on the quizes cause they can help to.
I think that he is a good professor. He is funny makes economics interesting. I wouldnt say that his class is easy but its not very difficult either. You do have to study for tests because they are a little hard but I really enjoyed the class.
dont buy the book!! you never use it. other than that hes hilarious and keeps it interesting and explains everything perfectly, makes it all make sense. unfortunately i got an equation wrong and ended up with an 88 in the class because of it, but it wasnt any fault of his. take him!
If you are looking for the best Econ teacher to take, this is it. Even the other Economics teachers in the dept say it! It's really ridiculous a very small amount of people said he is the worst teacher ever, he doesn't baby you if that's what they mean but your in COLLEGE. He is extremely knowledgeable and has interesting and applicable lectures.
He's the most intelligent man I have met. His class is interesting and challenging but he entertains you so it's fun. If only he was single.
Clark is a great teacher. He has a great sense of humor, but don't think that makes his class easy. He makes it very, very clear what he expects from you(Drawing tons of graphs). Definitely the best Econ teacher at GCSU, you'll learn alot!
awesome teacher. very nice to look at. hilarious. he is so good at explaining everything and he really knows what he is talking about all the time. very good about answering questions and not making you feel stupid. tests are pretty hard you have to study a lot. take notes on everything he writes. very cool guy
great teacher! since you have to have econ & society for core, DEF. take him! attendance isn't mandatory but you'll fail if you don't go cause I studied purely off his lecture notes, don't bother buying the book. funny and makes a really difficult subject interesting. quizzes every week to help boost your grade. only 2 test plus final so study hard
Great Teacher! Be sure to study and you'll make a good grade. He's really funny and makes econ interesting.
He is a very helpful professor. The quizzes and test questions come directly from the notes. Know the material forwards and backwards and you will do well. The graphs can be tricky, but practice, practice, practice, and your grade will benefit dramatically.
His tests are very hard, but Clark is a very good teacher. His expectations are very clear. He really knows what he is talking about, and is funny. He makes class interesting- Econ is just a very difficult class.
Literally the best teacher I've ever had. I hated economics before I had Clark, now I absolutely love it. He gives the best examples possible. Seriously, take him. I looked forward to going to class for the first time.
He is the best economics teacher out there! My high school teacher confused me so much, but Dr. Clark made econ click...his test are challenging but not impossible, simple pay attention in class, which is not hard to do. I looked forward to class every week and am so sad that the semester is over!!
Dr. Clark is an awesome professor. He connects what he teaches to real world problems, which makes learning the subject less painful. Don't bother buying the book, but definitely go to class. Clark's lectures are always engaging, so no need to skip. Wish he taught Macro too!
He is extremely funny and makes going to class worthwhile! really helpful too, take him!
Hands down the best college professor i have ever had. Difficult? You bet! He will never test your memory. You either learn it and understand it or you flunk it! However, he makes his classes extremely interesting. Anyone taking econ classes @GCSU - take him! I was an econ major and tried to take every class he taught!
I had him for Freakonomics. Such an interesting class, not easy but interesting. Tests are hard, quizes are easy. Just pay attention. He's also a very good teacher, he knows what he is talking about & explains it in a way that you will understand. Best professor I've had. I will definitely take his class again.
Good teacher, but a hard class. Tests are pretty difficult. A quiz is given every Friday and you have to do a two minute speech. Also three papers. Go to class and do well on the tests, then you will be fine. He is available for questions, so ask him as much as possible.
I am a freshman and I love his class. Probably the only class I have a genuine interest for. He makes it interesting, he's fun, down to earth. Not an easy class if you cant understand, but work hard and you'll do fine. (MEMOS ARE DIFFICULT!!!not an easy A)
Very interesting! Enjoyed the class.
First of all, this man is one of the smartest men I have ever met. He was the first professor I ever had and I am looking forward to taking him again in the future. I got a C but I am okay with it because he taught me so much! Definitely read over your notes and night and as questions. Tests are pretty self explanatory but he is a hard essay grader
Dr. Clark is the smartest person I have ever met and the best/smartest teacher at GCSU. I would not be surprised if he leaves GCSU in a few years to teach ECON at a prestigious ECON school. Great teacher, but his class takes some work. Will go out of my way to take him in the future.
Chris Clark was a great teacher, very funny and smart. He grades really hard and rarely, if ever, gives A's. I made a C and didn't read hardly at all. But I still very thoroughly enjoyed the class. The subject matter of Freakonomics was interesting and Clark helped make it even more so.
Terrible, awful teacher. Never take this class. He's not had anyone get an A after 2 years teaching it (his words exactly). Take any other GC1Y, just not this class. He's vulgar, arrogant, and has no remorse for anyone. Do NOT take this class. EVER.
Dr. Clark is a great teacher. He teaches a lot in a small amount of time, and I think that the economic knowledge that I have gained from this course is invaluable. He isn't an easy teacher, and the class has quite a bit of reading, but if you go to class and put in the effort, you can have a B easily.
Interesting but difficult class. I learned a lot but not enough apparently because I studied my butt off for tests and got C's. First day of class he says his average is a C with only 1-2 students getting B's, almost NO A's. He's honest and to the point but his tests are so detailed on so much info. Too much work for a GC1Y take something easier.
Dr. Clark is hilarious. His class is difficult, but if you actually attend and try, getting a B wouldn't be hard. He knows what he is talking about and the class itself is interesting. I wish I had attended class more and tried harder!
Absolutely phenomenal professor. Difficult, but if you go to class, pay attention and take good notes you can easily make a B or an A.
Chris Clark was a very fun andhelpful professor. His class was definitely hard and I wish I would have taken more time to study. Even though I recieved a C in his class, I still loved it and would take it again!
Dr. Clark is by far the best professor I've had at GCSU! He is very passionate and easy to understand. I feel like I actually learned things I will need later in life. Just read the assignments and study your quizzes and you should do fine! He does drop some quizzes but does not believe in extra credit.
Smart guy, funny, very personable. Definitely one of the hardest classes I've taken. 3 tests, 1 policy memo (EXTREMELY strict grading), and a quiz every week (drops 3 lowest). Nice guy, but expects graduate level work at a 3000 level Econ elective..
Not an easy subject in Economics for most people, but he makes it so simple. If you take him, you will most likely laugh 10 - 20% of all class time. He makes the concepts simple and relatable in class, but you still have to study to get them on the test, naturally. Great teacher, buy do not take the class if you are not willing to study or review.
While the class was hard, he is a very enjoyable teacher to have. Great sense of humor but you must put in the time to study and read what you are assigned or else you won't do well in the class. Definitely worth taking if you have the time but don't expect an A unless you invest your time in the class
Clark's class i think will be the only 8am i ever enjoy going to. He's a real funny guy and makes concepts easy to understand. if you're not ready to work, don't take his class. I highly recommend taking him if you can, though. He'll teach you a lot and he knows what he's talking about.
Chris is a great professor. He definitely knows what he's talking about, and he does a really good job explaining. His few tests are very hard though, and sometimes his wording is very tricky.
Mr. Clark is very smart and the class is easy as long as you do all of the reading. Do not skip because you will get very behind.
Clark is quite the guy. He is the best professor I have had so far. Be ready to work because his classes are very tough but you actually learn the material. I thoroughly enjoyed going to class and listening to his lectures. He's hilarious and always keeps class entertaining and funny. Will definitely take again.
Ive had him for many courses over the years. He is a very smart guy who wants you to succeed. He wants to joke around with his students. Hs tests are very difficult, so start studying early.
Honestly a really hard class, but he made it fun and was super supportive and fun
He is a good teacher but the tests and quizzes can be very difficult and you take a quiz very Friday some of which are only 4 questions and they can really bring your grade down.
Great guy and a great prof. but his classes are difficult.
Dr. Clark is perhaps the greatest professor that I have ever had. His class is challenging, but he knows just how to explain economic concepts in a way that is both understandable and entertaining. His humor, passion, and unmatched expertise make for the perfect educational experience. I never expected to walk out with so much economic knowledge!
The class was very easy still, I would try to find a different professor, some classes the lecture would seem to drift off topic and accessibility outside class was not the easiest. Get the feeling hes clocking in and out each day vs engaging and challenging students. Tests and quizzes are a breeze but suggest a more engaging professor for your $
super engaging professor, go to class and take notes. Study/memorize notes for tests and quizzes and you should be good.
Great professor and super funny. As long as you attend class (or get notes from someone if you miss) and study you will most likely do well.
He is funny but dont be deceived. He makes every test very hard and it mostly written. He grades very harshly. I studied for a week straight about 2-3 hours a day and still got low C's on the test. It's a good class when you aren't taking any test or quizzes but once you do you feel like a failure.
I ended up in Dr. Clark's class as a last resort option for a gc1y, but I'm so glad I did. Dr. Clark truly cares about what he teaches, is interactive, and knows what's in a student's best interest. His tests and quizzes can be tough, but Clark makes the class enjoyable.
Beware of this class; you might end up wanting to major in economics by its conclusion. If you are an intellectually curious person, you will love this class. The lectures (and articles covered) are incredibly interesting and not too difficult. Dr. Clark truly loves his job and has a passion for what he teaches.
Great Prof. He is a great lecturer and he really wants you to succeed. Tests are relatively difficult and grading is very specific (not really a bad thing; he just has high standards).
Clark is amazing, but stay away if you aren't ready for a challenge. There's a lot to memorize and many notes to take during class, with quizzes every week. (Some of which he drops) Clark is very friendly, helpful and is available outside of class. The class is strenuous (and I think that 40% of people get a D or below) but well worth it.
He is a fantastic person. He does not use powerpoints and writes everything on the whiteboard, but the lectures are entertaining so go to class and take notes. There are weekly quizzes and the tests are hard. I am naturally good at economics, but if you are not good at it be careful taking this class (more than half of my class dropped).
He doesn't provide ppts so you have to go to class but his classes are enjoyable. he makes concepts easy to understand and it always happy to clarify anything iffy. as long as you take notes in class and study he's a very chill professor. got the mouth of a sailor tho.
Dr. Clark was my absolute favorite professor for my first semester of college. It takes work. A lot of it. You won't be stuck reading all the time or anything, but you need to be sure to know and understand the concepts he teaches to pass the class. I struggled at first, it definitely isn't a class for people who aren't going to put in the effort.
There isn't much I can say in this rating that hasn't been said already about Chris Clark - he is truly an incredible professor. Attendance isn't mandatory, but note-taking in every lecture is extremely important as ECON 2100 covers a lotttt of material. He's genuinely hilarious and happy to answer any questions in depth. Also he's hot idc.
I have a toxic relationship with this class. I love the lectures and the professor, it feels like you are just listening to your funny friend go on a tangent. But on the other hand, this was the hardest class I have taken. Only 8% of students get an A. The tests are SO hard and are designed for you to mess up on. Anxiety-inducing tests, fun class.
this was just a GC1Y for me, but as a transfer student 3 years in it's my favorite course i've taken. not related to my degree but fascinating & dr. clarke is the star of the show. makes class fun & entertaining while effectively teaching & getting concepts across understandably (especially for more difficult topics). take it, you won't regret it!!
He is so funny. He makes class enjoyable. In the next lecture, he goes over every quiz and exam. He also gets grades back before the next lecture day. If he could be my professor for every class, I would never miss class. 10/10 would recommend.
Dr Clarks class is not easy but if you go to class and take notes from the board, you will be ok. The concepts are sometimes hard, but he explains well and if you pay attention and study a moderate amount you'll get at least a B.
He is probably the best teacher I have had since I've been to college. Asking questions is very encouraged, and he does a great job at explaining them. He gives quizzes every Friday, but he drops your three lowest at the end of the year. Overall super great teacher!
Such a hard grader. He is a good professor, but his teaching style is hard. He talks 10x speed, and writes in his sloppy hand writing. Good luck figuring out what it says while trying to hear him teach!! 2 tests and a final, and a quiz every week. 3 get dropped. if u want to study 24/7, take him.
He's a great professor but this is definitely one of the hardest classes I've ever taken. Tests are worded hard and you have to deeply understand the material to do well. Attendance isn't "mandatory", but all the notes are on the board and nothing is posted online.
Professor Clark cares about knowing his students which makes him one of the good professors. However there are only 3 tests which can make or break your grade. Attendance isn't mandatory but he doesn't post online so any material used to study is from the lectures. Also there's a weekly quiz and he drops 2 or 3 at the end.
This class was hard but Dr. Clark was so funny and used real world examples to help you actually understand how economics work. His office hours were very helpful. The exams were hard and he can be a harsh grader but just pay attention and you'll be fine. He is my favorite professor so far.
Clark is a great professor and really cares about what he teaches but this class is really hard. don't skip a class because you will miss the lecture and be behind. he really only is interested in teaching econ majors and getting them to learn their stuff. so if you are simply a business major, the class is way to hard just to get a credit.
Online class, very little interaction with professor, but he reaches out every week to remind about assignments. Used Cengage MindTap for assignments, only 15 assignments - no tests, 3 tries for each question but the attempts are averaged so try your best on the first one. Reading the textbook was definitely helpful before assignments.
Professor Clark is a great teacher, and his classes always keep me entertained. However, you have a quiz every Friday but very few questions so if you get one question wrong, your screwed. Hos tests are very hard and makes the assignments for the class hard for no reason. I had to drop out of his class.
By far the best professor at Georgia College. He is AWESOME! So funny and personable. He constantly used real world examples to help me understand the material better. However, I had to work very hard to get an A in his class. Go to his office hours, he is SO HELPFUL! The SI sessions were also so useful. If you use your resources, you will do well.
Love Professor Clark! He made me really love microeconomics when I hated it in high school. Super entertaining lectures, super real, but decently hard tests. Go to the SI sessions and study outside of class with classmates and you'll be great! Take advantage of having him as a professor!
He is so funny and uses IRL stories to tie into micro, which was extremely helpful. His exams are pretty difficult. I put in many hours studying at the library, his office hours, and the learning center. Genuinely would not have passed the course if not for the S.I. sessions- GO TO THEM!!! He is helpful during office hours. Funny guy, hard class.
