Very good class. This is my second time taking a class with Copeland and honestly best class ever!!! He is quick to respond to emails even on weekends and the grading is very very clear and using Aleks is super understandable and easy to use.
Just do the work given and you will be just fine. The course runs pretty smoothly.
The class is an online only class that uses Aleks as the online program to complete your work. You basically teach yourself the math and have no professor interaction. You are expected to complete 10 hours of homework a week. In addition you must get an 80% on the final or else you fail the class which does not make sense at all.
A great professor! He is easy to understand and follow, and you do not have to worry about there being information you did not review in class being on the tests.
Prof. Christopher Copeland was a great professor! You're required to reach 10 hours/week in the ALEKS program with a minimum topic goal each week. The amount of time to hit my weekly hours was a little hard, but he allowed you to finish the course early if all your topics are completed, which I did. The program is easy to use. Enjoyed this class!
he was such a great professor! the class was not too difficult. he also answers emails pretty quickly and gives great feedback! def would take again.
I took a fully online math class and it was pretty easy and I suck at math. I did have some personal stuff come up that I had to miss two days of hw. I emailed him and he was understanding and responds quickly. Aleks was pretty easy to navigate and there are videos and examples for each topic you need to learn.
I would not recommend taking him online during the summer. He requires you to log in every single day for four hours. not even just 5 days out of the week but every single day & when I spoke to him about it he just said that was part of the class requirements. So even tho I was ahead in the material my grade was still lowered because I didn' log in
I took Math M07 during summer. We had to log on daily for a minimum of 4 hours which was a bit overwhelming, BUT I also finished this class in 5 weeks versus 8. With a lot of hard work, I passed with an A! Professor Copeland was incredibly responsive and I would absolutely take him again.
Hard class with very demanding courseload (4 hrs x 7 days a week). The class is through ALEKS which really forces you to learn/comprehend the material. Prof Copeland made all these expectations clear and was always available via email. He listens to students needs and makes recommendations to help. I would take his class again.
Professor Copeland was great, although I never met him in person. My course was online, and was a breeze! I havent taken a math class in 4 years, and after the first week it all came back to me! You are required to complete 10 hours a week online, but if you get through the material quick you can finish the class early! Definitely recommend!
Loved this professor and the way his course is organized.
Prof Copeland is a great math teacher! He uses ALEKS (which really helps you understand what youre learning) & you have to spend 10 hours a week online. If you work ahead you can finish the course early too! Prof responds to messages/qs very fast, & is very understanding. The ALEKS tests and final are pretty easy too. Def recommend this course!
Course was very straightforward. I was able to understand my mistakes on Aleks and learn from them. Aleks was extremely effective in my math learning. No complaints!
Online course through Aleks. Gives the option to finish early if you have completed the course. It takes a minute to learn to use Aleks but once you have it down its user friendly. Straight forward and great video explanations. Complete the weekly hours!
If you want to take math fully online, definitely take this class! Everything is done through ALEKS, which is a really simple website to navigate. You have to do 10 hours a week of work on it, but it is not that bad. If you finish learning all the topics early, you can finish the class early as well. The professor responds to emails quickly too!
I imagined taking a math class online would be difficult however, I was quite shocked it was less complex than I imagined. Professor Copeland answers e-mails immediately and is helpful in every way. If you put in the work you will pass the class. I would definitely recommend and would take another class with him!
This class was completely online and we used ALEKS. I really like ALEKS because you can learn at your own pace but 10 hours a week is way too much. I end up doing two-three hours a day just to complete everything.
Intermediate Algebra M03 online course. Requires 10 hours per week and 38 topics completed in Aleks. Seems as a lot of work, but totally worth it because he allows early completion. Finish all topics and do four test and you free to go. Replies to emails quickly and grading criterias are very transparent. Recommended.
Took his class online spring semester 2022. If you have any questions he is there to answer them for you. This class is perfect if you cant sit in a class or in a zoom meeting for hours. You go on you own pace, you do need to complete at least 10 hrs a week & certain amount of topics to pass the class. He allows you to complete the class early
Used the program ALEKS, a lot of work but it is self paced so I finished the class 2 months before the end date which is a huge benefit.
I took his online class, he uses Aleks. It was a great system for self learning. Read the directions for every topic and take notes. He was very responsive and supportive. He is very clear on the class requirements. Hardest part is the weekly hours required. I would definitely take him again in person or online.
The class is through ALEKs (you have to buy it). If I ever had a question he would respond quickly via email. You are able to finish the course early. Although he was required to make us do 10 hours of ALEKs every week. There were 4 tests (2 hours max and 30 questions, pretty easy) and 1 mini-quiz (basically 3 questions). Have to be self-motivated!
Uses a program called ALEKS its all online but you meet in person. Great professor knows every topic that you have questions on and is very open to helping.
The final is worth most of your grade but Chris does everything he can so you pass the final. I emailed him multiple times throughout the semester and he got back to me right away, even through text. When I was ready to take the final he sent me practice tests. I recommend this course and this professor he is amazing and couldn't be more helpful.
You use ALEK's the whole semester. You have to do 10 hours a week and 20 topics. it can be very overwhelming. You're teaching yourself math. If you don't want to teach yourself don't take this class. For online classes use the app "Mathway" you can type in questions for answers. I struggled a bit with topics toward the end of class.
Great guy! He's a super cool guy, willing to work with you. He uses a program called Aleks, and you're almost guaranteed to score 100% for every test as long as you complete the assignments. Theres only 4 tests in his class (three knowledge checks and one final).
Down-to-earth, respectful teacher that cares about your success. His classes use Aleks, which is the equivalent of an e-textbook. If you like lectures, then you may have a hard time as this class is focused on you putting the time in to learn. However, Chris is always right there to help you if you're stuck and is great at explaining concepts.
Good class. It's a lot of work and there's a 10-hour weekly time commitment but it's manageable. Show up and make time aside to work and you will pass.
Professor Copeland is a chill professor and understands peoples situations. I took a summer class for precalculus, it was 4 hours day even on weekends. Many people were bummed out because of the 4 hours but it was a class that was compressed in 8 weeks. He made trigonometry easy to understand and cleared any misunderstandings
Professor Copeland is just amazing. Super charismatic and he goes out of his way to keep his class light and fun. He is very approachable and extremely helpful when needed. His whole class is on a site called "ALEKS" that is super easy to use and very reinforcing. He checks in each week with each student and he overall is a wonderful professor!
I went into his class because his reviews looked really strong and promising. He gives you four tests that make your entire grade, alongside 10% homework. After about 30 minutes into the period, he has lost everyone's attention. Very inconsiderate person, he is unapproachable, feels like he is giving lessons to the wall.
Great Professor really cares about his students. This course is basically in person but done on the computer. He is always in class ready for your questions. Attendance is mandatory but is also necessary if you want to pass the class. The grading system is very clear as well. Great professor would definitely take one of his classes again.
Professor Copeland is absolutely wonderful. I took his M05 College Algebra class last spring and loved it so much I came back to take his M06/M07 class this fall. He gives very clear feedback and is extremely approachable. If you do the work each week, and ask him for "knowledge checks" every couple weeks, you are almost guaranteed to get an A.
Really great guy and he actually cares about everyone. Would highly recommend and he responds very quick. Once again really great guy.
He was one of the best math teacher that I had. He was replied quickly to the email. He had an test review at Moorpark College. He said if you come to the review, for the math test you have to pass with a score of 75%.
I took M07 and M25A with this professor and he was without a doubt the most responsive professor that I have had at Moorpark. His class is structured so that tests are 90% of your grade which can seem daunting but his test reviews are exactly like the tests. He grades very strictly and he makes you aware of that ahead of time. Would take again!
One of the best math teachers/professors I have ever had. If you are going to take this class, I am telling you to do the TEST REVIEWS. They are 90% of the time completely identical to the test, just with changed numbers/variables. Do the homework as well, it is usually harder than the test but will prepare you.
Be realistic, work hard as this is a calculus class, and Professor Copeland will help you along the way! He is very supportive and understanding, but you need to put in work yourself as well. Very clear lectures and super nice guy!
Great professor. Asks everyone if they need help during class to make sure no one is lost. The course I took used a website called Aleks which allowed you to work at your own pace, as long as you met the topic and time goals. He also wants to make sure you understand the material you are learning. He is very approachable and understanding.
This is my second course with this professor. If you like to study at your own pace with minimum intervention then this professor is for you. This course was only 9 weeks long, so it required 15 hours per week on Aleks and some topics learned by the end of each week. It was totally doable. Three tests plus final and single question SLO.
This class was a lot of work make sure you finish the topics on time the weight of the topics can make or break your grade.
AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME!!!! I have always been awful at math but Professor Copeland changed the game for me! I wish I could do all of my math for my associates degree with him! He is so encouraging, patient, kind, and explains everything extremely well! He wants his students to succeed and he is very flexible and understanding! Take his class!
BEST PROFESSOR AT MOORPARK FOR MATH. I am so happy that I was able to take Copeland for M05. He is kind, caring, and really wants his students to succeed. He uses an online program called ALEKS that lets you work at your own pace. I've always sucked at math but after taking his class, I feel comfortable with it! Amazing teacher! Very understanding!
This teacher is amazing, very understandable and clearly caring. This is a hard class of course because it's calculous, don't expect an easy A without putting in the work. He will respond to emails and answer all your questions. There are 4 tests in the class, the final is cumulative. HW is easy, no reason to not get 100. Take him!
This is an in person class that is taught online. I signed up for an in person math class because I struggled with online math classes. However this class is taught strictly off a program on the computers with little interaction from the professor. The professor himself is a great guy and is very nice. He does help students but the course is online
Best math teacher I've ever had, he has great resources available and does not have any surprises on tests.
Prof. Copeland used an online program called ALEKS which teaches you material in a self-paced way. This class requires a lot of focus and dedication but it's still easier than most teacher/textbook classes because the program works with you until master the topics so there's no chance of getting lost or confused. Take his class you'll love it :)
DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THIS M07 class if you need to be in person and genuinely taught math. This course is self taught and self pace. If you are comfortable with math take this course, but if you need help DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. He is a kind person but does not make any acceptions.
He makes you buy ALEKS to self teach yourself the entire course. If you are good at self teaching, this class probably won't be difficult. The prof himself is good at explaining and accommodating on certain things such as meeting topic goals each week, but if you don't get at least an 80% on the final then you automatically fail the class.
If you like the program "Aleks" then this is for you but personally I hate it and feel like he didn't teach at all and just used his program. It is a very time consuming class and I defiantly did not have the time.
If you enjoy the website ALEKS, then this class would be perfect for you. If not, then you will most likely have to put in a lot of effort in order to pass each test. For my class, you needed an 80% or higher on the final exam to pass.
He uses ALEKS for us to learn, and it is more self taught. He is there if you need help but he does not actually teach the class, and I found it very hard. Also you have to get an 80% on the final to pass, if you don't you automatically fail the class which I thought was not very fair. He is a really kind guy, I just don't think his class is good.
Mr. Copeland was an excellent teacher. The course was mainly online-> ALEKS. Weekly topics as well as a time goal must be reached each week. Class time is mainly used for questions and individual work time. This class also has a built in tutor who attends every class.I highly recommend Mr. Copeland if you work well with individual time in class.
Professor Copeland is a genuinely nice guy. Took this online but he was always kind and considerate during office hours. Very generous grader. Reviews resemble the tests but the tests are a bit harder. Calculus is difficult but Professor Copeland was always willing to help.
Attendance is very strict, lots of hw, great at explaining. accessible out of class
Professor Copeland is a great teacher. I enjoyed his class. Would definitely recommend!
Online math is not for everyone, but I loved the ALEKS program. Work at your own pace; if you work ahead, you can score high on tests & finish early. Program makes you relearn the topics if you don't understand so it's not all or nothing. 80% on the final to pass is reasonable because the test changes as you take it based on how well you're doing.
This class is done entirely on the ALEKS program, and you can work ahead and finish the class in a couple weeks. Graded on completing a certain amount of topics and spending 15 hours in the program weekly. You need an 80% on the final to pass the class, but ALEKS prepares you with practice checks that makes you redo lessons you struggled with.
Teaching methods are non-existent. Final makes up 60% of the grade. USES ALEKS (1.8 stars out of 1.8K reviews). Has given me multiple lessons where either he could not explain the material nor did he understand it fully enough to know where to stop (synthetic division, etc, etc). Attendance is mandatory for an online program that he doesn't control
Calculus is hard, but Copeland makes the experience smooth. The HW was all discussion posts where we just needed to submit pictures of our work. The rest of the class is graded by our exams, which the study guides were almost identical problems to what would be on the test.
I had a great learning experience with this professor. He is very understanding and will help you out with any questions you have! I definitely recommend taking him you will pass the class!
You basically teach yourself the material and he just helps you if you get stuck but its super easy stuff (for the most part) the test are so easy... he will explain his grading system to you on the first day of class... it's amazing. If you are being tested on topics 1-15 but you know topics 1-35, you will almost def. get 100% on the test
I took the 8 week course and it was very stressful since I was taking other classes but once it was over it was worth it. You have to complete 15 hours a week on Aleks and must finish the topics given. Its a guarantee pass as long as you complete all your topics and hours. I recommend taking notes of everything on a notebook for the exams.
Self taught class and grading criteria is strict. Beware of the workload as you have to do 10 hours per week. Do not take if you struggle teaching yourself. Need an 80% on final to pass class regardless of overall grade.
This class is for independent study. At first you needed to get an 80% or higher on the final to pass, but eventually he offers extra credit which reduces it down to 70%. I got a 91% on the final. He uses a program called Alecs which is a dynamic program that is personally tailored to your learning. He requires 10 hours per week, I had 200 overall.
Great teacher and a fun class. I would definitely recommend him
Zero study guides given at any time, despite the grading being extremely tough. Uses Alex as the only material for the class and thus cannot teach the whole of the class something everyone is on. Not nice to talk with and does not understand the fine questions of the material and often gives incomplete verbal answers or non-answers to topics.
An awesome teacher. We use Aleks in class which works for me and he's also there to help if you have any questions. He encourages you to do well in class. Definitely recommended.
His insightful videos made learning calculus online easier. Though it was hard at first, his clear explanations simplified complex topics. Homework matched the exams, ensuring we were ready. He also offered extra support, showing his dedication to our success.
Professor Copeland is very accessible and ready to help. This class made a tough subject like calculus easier to understand. I would take a class from Professor Copeland again. He is very available during office hours and gives very good help in preparation for exams.
Professor Copeland is an excellent professor. He is accessible outside of class, and gives good insight when preparing for upcoming exams. I would take him again for future classes. He is understanding and very helpful when you come to him with questions or concerns.
Professor Copeland was a good professor. Took this class online and attended his office hours for extra help. Most of the grade is based on the tests, (4 over semester) but he offers practice tests that are very similar to the actual test. He is ready to help if you ask for it, and explains problems thoroughly. Important to watch instruction vids.
Class mainly uses aleks as a self taught teaching tool with a time requirement every day but he is willing to help and explain any question you have
I would love to take one of his class again.
He's a great professor, really good at explaining things in a way I could understand. This class was pretty hard but I don't think thats his fault, it was a super accelerated summer class. I wouldn't recommend taking a four week math class if you can avoid it, but if you're going to I'd definitely recommend him.
horrible experience
this class is very hard the website used for this class costs money alone as well as being very bad setting you back hours of work just for getting a few questions wrong
very bad teacher
The class has a heavy workload, but unstuck study can be a useful study tool to complement the required Aleks platform. Stay on top of the assignments, take detailed notes, and you'll likely pass, though the grading can be strict.
Professor Copeland was very understanding and was willing to help you if you needed it. But the class does consist to doing a lot of homework so you need to be dedicated to the class.
Copeland is the goat, 2nd time taking him. He's very understanding and nice.
Professor Copeland is a really great guy who wants you to succeed. Your grade is determined by 4 tests with 10 questions each, so its easy to tank your grade with a few questions so just keep that in mind, but he does give a few helpful extra credit opportunities. As long as you watch his videos and ask good questions you will be fine.
Great professor, wants students to succeed and knows the subject very well. Recommend taking him.
Copeland was a great choice for Calc 1. His class was test heavy but he always provided opportunities to work your grade back up if you were struggling. The class was not super hard but not necessarily easy. The class was truly a joy to be a part of as the he was always willing to chat about math or if you had finished your work really anything.
This class I would say is very homework oriented, it's not too hard, it's just constant. Just remember to study hard, but it's a great class.
Professor Copeland is an excellent professor with a well-structured course, clear expectations, and good pacing in his teaching of materials.
Mr Copeland is a great math professor He does a flipped classroom which was really helpful as someone who doesn't strive in a lecture based class. He consistently asks if we have questions during class and will gladly take the time to explain it us. He also gives us credit for doing homework checks as well as doing the exit quizzes. TAKE HIM!!!
Copeland is a great professor and wants to see his students succeed. Gives extra credit!
Super understanding professor, attendance is not mandatory but is helpful to grade because there's in class quizzes based on lectures. Tests are really similar to the test reviews. Take him if you actually want to learn calculus!!!
He is an AWESOME professor! Makes calculus easy, as long as you do what he tells you to do, you'll pass.
Great professor and really cares about his students. Willing to work with you if you need to. The class is mainly graded on how you do on the test. Participation and showing up to class is really big in this class if you want to be successful.
Professor Christopher Copeland is an amazing Calc 1 teacher. Material is good and easy to learn just have to be consistent. He's always available to help and happy and willing. I wish he taught calc 2.
Professor Copeland is a super caring and great teacher. His videos are super informative and if you watch them and study for the tests you will get a good grade in the class. If he likes your class you will also get some extra credit. I fully recommend
Overall this class was very straight forward and professor Copeland genuinely wanted us to succeed in the class. The class grade is based on 4 exams and quizzes but as long as you study then you will be fine.
Do well on your tests! Classes are fun and entertaining, you do have two quizzes each class, but are easy. Tests are pretty much your whole grade.
Professor Copeland is the best math professor I've ever had. Calculus is a hard subject, but his lectures make concepts very manageable. He is very accessible in class and will always encourage you to ask questions. Goes out of his way to assist students. Homework is not graded but you should do it to prepare you for tests. Grade is test heavy.
You do group work for the notes in class and you do homework after every class. As long as you are doing your homework and doing the test reviews this class should be no problem for you. This professor is always willingly to help you out if you have any questions on the material.
One of the best math teachers I have ever had. He does a flipped classroom which was helpful because in class you do homework, not lectures. He always asks if you have questions, making sure you understand everything. His tests are hard but not if you know the material well. STUDY. Homework is checked for completion. I would take him again!!
He's a good teacher. Gives good tests that are most of the grade. You watch the lectures at home and do the homework in class.
The class is overall pretty decent depending on how you excel on math. If you are horrible, would def not recommend taking his class. But if you are willing to take the risk, he offers a tiny extra credit and does grade curve. There are only 4 test which are similar to your study guide. Great Prof. 8.5/10
Always willing to help you on any questions you have. Very organized curriculum. Tests are 80% of your grade and he grades them really tough. However, use the study guides he provides since they are very similar to the actual test and are helpful.
Professor Copeland is an amazing professor, he makes the whole learning process painless and very straightforward. As a full time employee and student, I can assure you can easily pass this class if you put in the necessary work. Lots of HW, take the time to fully understand each concept and memorize theorems/formulas. Highly recommend.
Copeland was a great professor and I would recommend him to anyone who is taking a math course at Moorpark. His classes were always entertaining and fun to be a part of. He was always willing to answer question about the homework or if you were done, pretty much anything.
Professor Copeland is a great professor who cares about his students and class. As of now, study and memorize lots at home as the majority of your grade is on test grades. Lectures are at home, while group homework is in class. In class works well because you can ask any questions. Practice many times with all material and you should learn well.
Material is very difficult but this teacher is a great option if you are planning to take the course. Practicing outside of class is recommended and the professor is very clear with instructions and guidance.
He is very caring about his student, I respect him.
Copeland is a pretty solid teacher. His class time isn't lectures, it's closer to an office hours for his ALEKS work, but it's not horrible. He answers questions well when asked, and listens to his students. The only major gripe I have is with ALEKS, not Copeland. It's a lot of homework and the grading criteria doesn't make a ton of sense to me
He's a great teacher, and getting an A is easy if you study hard. The course has four tests. Make sure to watch the videos and take good notes. You can also ask him for help if you don't understand something. Overall, the class is easy, has an amazing lectures and makes everything easy to understand.
Amazing Professor. Will answer any questions you have and is willing to work with you on late assignments, missed tests, etc. Only issue with the class itself (M07) is it's basically all online and the program sucks in my opinion. Does not teach the material well. If it's your first time doing pre calc, do a fully in person class.
Overall great professor. This was an online class through ALEKS and all the work and grading was done through there. It's easy to get a good grade via ALEKS; I'd say the only thing matters are the tests and attendance (around 10 hours a week of online activity in ALEKS). The professor is clear about his goals. I would take this class again.
Professor Copeland is great! Lectures are provided as online videos, and we complete homework in class groups of four. I'd only recommend this class if you're comfortable with this learning style. Professor Copeland is very helpful in answering questions and understanding students' needs.
This class is on aleks but professor Copeland gave clear instructions and outlines for the entire course so you know what you're getting into. He also provides a weekly report of the achieved weekly goals which is nice! He has a formula sheet and tons of videos to help get you through the topics in the course. 10 for an online class!
Professor Copeland is a very understanding professor! ALEKS is a bit of a challenge to navigate at first, I find myself going to YouTube quite often to learn about the topics rather than the in-site videos.
I highly recommend Professor Copeland. The "backwards classroom" approach works well for me; I learn the concepts using his short videos, and then use class time to practice. He breaks down the topics effectively and provides plenty of review. My only complaint is that most of his lecture videos have a distracting, buzzing background noise.
It's a flipped classroom and the lectures can be very time-consuming but informative. We had 2 one-question quizzes per class. One on lecture notes (can use notes) and the other on the homework (no notes). Only 4 tests make up the grade so STUDY! Take Professor Copeland's class, he is a very genuine teacher who is willing to help if needed.
Flipped classroom w/ shortish prerecorded videos. Grade is 4 tests, which are similar to review guides with really reasonable material, + a grade for 'attendance' including lecture note and homework checks. Calc is a tough subject, but Prof. Copeland helps make it way less intimidating! He is very approachable and clearly cares about his students.
Homework is just the lectures and there not very long
Took the class online to fill in my requirements, the lectures are forged into the lessons which I enjoyed, said we don't have to get 80 and over on the final to pass and just needed an overall passing grade. Would definitely take again!
This was my first class at moorpark college and I felt when I needed help I knew he was available and would teach the topics in a way that I can understand. Make sure to stay on top of the school work each week to not fall behind since this class did require alot of work and time to be successful.
I chose Mr. Copeland after seeing good reviews from other students and I can attest that he is a very understanding, helpful, and attentive teacher. He has allowed me to attend class a bit later due to my Ortho appointments. I have enjoyed my time with Mr. Copeland and I hope to continue having him as my teacher next semester.
Professor is understanding. ALEKS based so weekly time requirement is needed but worth it to pass the exams. Exams are in person but not hard if you complete all topics and review.
He uses ALEKS and has no scheduled lectures which I really like. Tests are taken at the college, but that hasn't been a problem for me. LOTS of work each week, but pay attention and you can retain and keep the information easily. Difficult, but not a terrible class.
Pay attention and keep practicing
Clear grading criteria and homework is done in class, with lectures online. I preferred this method because I have a hard time doing homework. The lecture videos have weird hissing sounds towards the ends of the videos but they are clear and concise. Great teacher this is the first math class that I've felt like I'm learning and doing well in.
Professor is knowledgeable and helpful during class hours. The class mainly uses ALEKS(self-paced mostly) which I prefer over the typical teacher-paced curriculum. I'd definitely take another class with him.
This is my first class at Moorpark. Very clear instructions on how to pass the class. If you stay on top of your work and review a lot, this class will be much easier for you. The second you fall behind is when it gets hard, so make sure you carve out time in your weekly schedule to prioritize this class.
Attendance is a grade in this class. Very consistent grader and will tell you what he will be looking for. 100% would take for Calc 2 if he was available.
His online class was very flexible and worked for many different lifestyles. The requirement that tests be taken in person provides a professional setting to an online class, unlike usual online classes that offer tests in nonchalant settings.
Whole course was laid in an organized manner and provides a professional setting to test which is not usually given during an online course.
Classwork is based entirely online on Aleks, including tests and homework, however, you will still have to attend class. Stay on track with homework and you'll be fine. Fall behind the climb back up is going to be difficult. The class is self paced with weekly "goals" taught through Aleks, however if you need help don't be afraid to ask Copeland!
Attendance is through Aleks by completing a certain amount of hours of work per week. During class you can ask Copeland for help and he'll be happy to walk you through problems. Fall behind on your work and it'll be hard to catch up, but Copeland is very kind and can assist you if you just talk/email him.
He is super kind and is understanding if you fall behind on your work. Attendance is through ALEKS. If you miss some topics he is very understanding and will go back to give you credit if you are able to catch up. Overall a very nice, calm, and understanding teacher.
Copeland is great. He uses a program called ALEKS and thats basically all you do. In class whenever you need help he's always there and he explains it every simply. If you can deal with online programs and self pacing, this is a great class.
This is a pretty easy class for the subject it is. It's done through an online program (ALEKS) and he's always willing to help if you have any questions. He is super understanding even if you fall a bit behind and is willing to still give you full credit. Overall chill class and easy to pass as long as you get the work done and do well on tests.
I enjoy independent learning however I always find myself stuck on a couple topics, in Professor Copeland's course I've been able to comfortably find my self stuck in my independent learning pathway and have been successfully able to navigate my self unstuck with the guidance's of Professor Copelands weekly check ins.
I had an amazing experience with this professor! He was always kind and took the time to explain things in detail if you got stuck. The flipped classroom format made learning easier and more engaging. He genuinely makes your life so much easier. As long as you stay on top of homework and attend lectures, you'll be fine!
Reviews are rigged for EC!! Doesn't teach at all because of the flipped class structure. Recorded lectures are from Covid and have a loud hissing sound throughout. Has two quizzes every class, so beware of that for those with test anxiety. Tests are ten questions long and he takes off half credit or more for slightest mistakes. Chill guy, though.
I lover professors like Christopher Copeland because you can really tell he does care and want you to pass their class. Hes always trying to find ways to make his students more likely to succeed in his class. For example he lets students on test days have a basically unset amount of time in class to study a bit before starting the test.
I enjoyed taking this class. Professor Copeland created a supportive environment where students felt comfortable asking questions and exploring new ideas. He was always very good at answering questions or emails soon after sending them. I would take this class again.
The best professor I have had so far!!! You do the notes at home. Then when in class you do homework with a group of people you choose and at the end he chooses a random question from the homework for you to do without cheating. There are 4 tests and each are worth 20% so make sure to study. He also gives EC that are easy to receive.
Prof Copeland's class is great- but its format is likely not for everyone. It was PERFECT for me, because I prefer a self-paced regiment and I don't mind reading/learning stuff on my own (aka no lectures). If you're using this class as a refresher like I did, it's perfect. If this is your first time w/ Algebra, maybe pick a more lecture based class
Taking Professor Copeland's class was a great experience and I highly recommend him! My class was mostly online so prepare to work a lot on your own but he would always answer any questions/ walk you through a problem during in-class hours.
Completely self paced so if you are mainly a self starter you'll probably do well and the program Aleks lets you pick which topics you'd like to navigate through within each section. Good teacher and you have a lot of time for questions. Final is worth a lot and it helps to test well in this class if you don't it is easy to get behind.
Completely self paced so if you are mainly a self starter you probably do great. There is no lecture however the program Aleks lets you pick which topics you'd like to navigate through within each section. Good teacher and you can ask questions. Final is worth a lot and it helps to test well in this class if you don't it is east to get behind.
The class is through the program Aleks and doesn't have lectures but I felt this suited me and made it easier for me. The professor is nice and offers a lot of help during class. The grade is test-heavy but quite manageable if you do the homework. Overall I'm glad I took this class.
I would not take again.
I was misled when I signed up for this class. Although all the reviews are positive, that is because Professor Copeland gives his class 5 extra credit points at the end of the semester. Your grade is based on tests. 4 tests make up your grade; everything needs to be his exact way for full credit if not no credit. He also does not teach.
DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS!!!! The ratings are misleading! The only reason he has so many positive reviews is that he gives you extra credit if you rate him and show him. His tests are more than 80% of your grade and if you do one step wrong on the test but get the right answer he gives you a 0 on that question. The study guide is nothing like the test.
this is a warning, no more like a plea. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR OR CLASS! Way too much work and no proper lesson plan. The program is ALEKS and its all over the place. Please do not take unless you love being depressed and anxious!
DO NOT TAKE PLEASE I BEG!!!
no lesson plan, no happiness, all these good reviews are made because he gives extra credit to those who write good reviews.
I told my therapist about this course. Do not take! Please its not worth it!
Overall very chill dude but the amount of work is unbelievable, the videos and examples don't help.
I took pre algebra and to be honest as long as you do your work then you'll be fine. But its really not hard at all just a bit time consuming.
Professor Copeland is an outstanding professor and his class has made me perform exceptionally well. Took his course based off this site and the reviews did not disappoint. The class is test heavy and you do homework in class and lectures at home but I think it works so well. He cares about all his students and if you care too you'll succeed!
Professor Copeland understands the material he teaches. He provides great examples and makes sure everyone understands the material. He allows time to do homework in class and work in groups. He does have a flipped classroom, so make sure to study. I appreciated that he takes time to help each student. Make sure to study,I recommend this professor.
This class is good, Mr. Copeland is super helpful whenever needed, the program is easy as long as you don't get behind overall a good class.
Overall this class was straightforward, watch the videos at home, do homework in class, and then take the tests which are majority of your grade. This class involves a lot of pre calculus skills so make sure you are strong on those. The professor himself is caring, answers questions clearly making sure the students understand.
I'm currently taking his class online, and overall it's pretty good. We use a website called ALEKS to study different topics, and once a month, we have to take a test. They give us 3 hours to complete it, so there's plenty of time to finish. Topics are easy to understand, and he also gives us some helpful tips to be fully prepared for the tests.
Overall this is a good class, Mr. Copeland is caring and willing to give help whenever needed, the program is straightforward, test are a big part of the grade but simple if you stay on it.
The main topic being derivatives. This is a flipped classroom; it means the professor will upload the video on the Canvas app. There will be 4 tests for 18 weeks; 10 questions = 100 points/test. He always comes around the class to help and nice with students. If you are absent on the test day, you can ask to take the test in class the next day.
Flipped classroom where you watch lectures for homework and answer problems for classwork. Overall a pretty good and straightforward class. Your graded mostly on tests which there are 4 of so if you put in the work and stay on top of things you'll do okay. Professor is always willing to explain any questions and checks on students in class.
This is a flipped classroom where you watch lectures and do homework in class. It is pretty easy as long as you do the homework. Professor is always willing to help and explain problems you do not understand. He always comes around the class asking if anyone needs help.
I have taken Professor Chris for both my Precalc and Calc 1 classes, and honestly, I would take him for Calc 2 if the option were available. He is willing to work with you to break down problems in a way that makes you understand. FYI, the lectures were prerecorded, and you would come into work on the homework, which worked well, super transparent.
Professor Copeland makes learning calculus easy. The class flipped; you watch lectures online and then reinforce those ideas in person. In class, he is eager to help you with any problem you ask for. Tests are accompanied by study guides that are pretty similar to the exam. If you master the study guides and homework, you will succeed!
He is an exceptional teacher! He always makes himself available for questions. While there are a lot of assignments, they are fairly straightforward. We use this website called ALEKS which we use religiously. He communicates what he expects from students. I would highly recommend his online class!
He's super chill and makes the class feel comfortable, which helps a lot with learning. He really takes the time to make sure everyone understands the material, and he doesn't move on until it's clear we've got it. He's approachable, patient, and explains things in a simple way that actually makes sense.
Chill professor, easy to talk to, and really wants you to understand the material. He explains things clearly and makes sure you're learning.
The professor has a “inverted classroom” where you do the lecture at home and homework in class. I took it at 7:30 am and and the hardest part of the class is get there on time, don't take it early if you like to sleep in. If you need help you need to talk to the professor, he is not just going to read your mind, express your needs.
Professor Copeland teaches using a flipped style, which is an excellent method for understanding. He walks around and asks if anyone has questions. If someone does, he provides a detailed answer to ensure understanding. He gives reviews which are very similar to the exams. Class grades are determined based on four tests. I feel prepared for calc 2.
Copeland is a great professor for Calculus 1!! Take him if you can, he teaches with flipped classroom (lecture videos at home and homework in class) so you can do work with those around you and ASK QUESTIONS IN CLASS!
Professor Copeland is great if you've taken calc previously and prefer a relaxed and self paced class. 4 exams and a final. Extra credit is offered
Professor Copeland is great! He teaches in a flipped class which worked well for me. You watch lectures at home and do homework in class with a group. The course is mostly test based which can be challenging but as long as you pay attention and study a lot on your own you will do fine.
Professor Copeland uses the math program ALEKS, which I really like. He's very knowledgeable about the information and can help with any questions you have. The class is a study hall format, where you can get help on any topics you are having trouble with. The way the class is designed, you really master the information. Great professor!
Takes a well appreciated modern approach to teaching.
very caring professor with a very unique teaching style that allows for more time to ask classmates or the professor questions. Would definitely take again as Chris is a very personable professor.
Professor Copeland's approach to teaching math is pretty good. His class is flipped so lectures are online, and you work the HW problems at your own pace in class. The tests look and feel pretty similar to the HW problems so if those feel like a cakewalk to you then the test will too. The hardest part of the course is the algebra that goes into it.
Professor Copeland is a great professor. This is actually the second time I've taken a math class with him. The class is a flipped classroom, so you do the notes on your own and then come to class to do the homework which I actually surprisingly liked. Just make sure you follow his instructions on how to solve the problems and you'll be fine
Honestly he is a really great professor. He uses a method called a flipped classroom which I wasn't sure about at first but I think it's better that way. If you study the homework and take time to learn the material you'll do fine on the tests.
This is a challenging course as is expected of a calculus class. It was a flipped style course where lectures are done at home and work done in class. Expectations are pretty clear. There are four tests, a notes quiz at the beginning of class, and classwork quiz at the end of class. 100 pts for tests 100 pts for all HW/in class work.
Meet usually 1-2 times a week. A lot of work is done online, and self taught. In classes, we review topics and teaches amazingly. Very caring and makes sure you understand the topic. Awesome teacher who also loves football, I was able to talk about with him before class starts.
Professor Copeland uses a math program ALEKS, which is very easy to use. He's very knowledgeable about the information given and truly just wants his students to succeed in this class.Great professor!
He uses a platform called Aleks and everything is self taught. During class meeting you are just working on homework but he does come around and asked each person individually If you need help on any of the topics. Overall a great professor.
Great professor very test heavy so if you're not good with your pre-calc/trig will be challenging but test study guides are almost identical to tests
Professor Copeland is a supportive and understanding instructor who truly wants his students to succeed. Though the class can be intense, especially for visual learners, his guidance makes the material more accessible. Homework is done on ALEKS, requiring about 10 hours weekly completing topics. Stay on track and you'll do well. Highly recommend!
He's a great professor, very knowledgeable, and easy to contact outside of class. There is quite a bit of work to be done each week on ALEKS, but as long as you stay on track, you should pass the class. My class has a built-in course tutor, and he will possibly offer extra credit to students who utilize that.
This class is very much self-taught. However, the flipped teaching method helps you understand topics more deeply and work at your own pace. Beware though! If you fall behind, it will not be smooth sailing for the rest of the semester. Stay disciplined and on task every week, and you will do great!
Professor Copeland is a chill, caring instructor. He does a flipped method classroom, giving more time to focus on heavier topics and self- pace. Definitely do not fall behind and do the study guides as they are super similar to the exams!
The professor was very understanding and wanted his students to succeed. The class is very homework heavy and you need to stay consistent with your assignments. Make sure you always study before the tests to be prepared!
He's very very nice
It's a pretty simple course. The professor makes grading criteria clear and everything is done through ALEKS. He's also available in case you need help on anything.
Very helpful professor who wants you to succeed. The class is simple if you stay ahead. It uses ALEKS, which makes the work clear and manageable. There's also an in-class tutor available during lectures and offering extra help outside of class. If you put in the effort, you'll do well. i would recommend this class to most people.
I took Math M05 online and it is pretty difficult online using the website Aleks but the criteria is clear. Aleks helps with explanations if you are having a hard time understanding the material, which I really liked. The exams are a little difficult, at least for me, because they bring up old and new material. Overall a good experience.
Great Professor! Class taught me a lot and Professor Copeland was very helpful! Highly recommend!
This class is set up in a unorthodox way. I've never taken a math class that uses ALEKS, but honestly it made learning pre calc topics easier for me. The professor helps with any questions you have and is super chill. Id take this class if you are good at learning on your own time and in your own way.
I spent 40+ hours on the homework each week. I had an A for half the semester before things got messy. He's rude and condescending. I reached out asking for help multiple times and was always redirected to his syllabus. I would never recommend his class to my worst enemy. Even if you do well with independent learning, get ready to spend 10 hours+
The Professor uses a switched classroom method. It helps to understand the material better since you learn the material before class and do the homework in class. The professor is chill and is there to help. Overall, the class was good, and calculus is just a subject that needs extra studying time apart from class homework and video lessons.
He is incredibly rude and condescending, yelled at me in front of the entire class for not doing 10 hours of work when I completed the assignments in 5. If you are advanced you are required to finish the class early with these mandatory 10 hour a week requirements. Dropped me for attendance because of this when I had 1 real absence.
This class uses ALEKS, which allows us to watch instructional videos and learn various topics at our own pace. There is a significant amount of homework and students are expected to complete 10 hours of it each week. Professor Copeland is great and answers any questions you may have. He genuinely wants to see his students succeed in the class.
Terrible teacher. Don't take. He is highly rated because he told us we would get extra credit for rating him and sending him a screenshot. Yelled at students in front of the whole class for asking a question. Doesn't know how to explain math and just solves the problem as an answer. Shows up for beginning of class then leaves for most of the time.
If you listen to any review please let it be this one. Dont make the mistake I made. Seeing all these reviews, I decided to take his class. Not only does he not actually teach, the only reason he has good reviews is because he gives students 5 bonus points on an exam to write him a review. He's not in class 90% of the time and is a little rude tbh.
Professor Copeland uses a math program ALEKS, which is very easy to use. He's very knowledgeable about the information given and truly just wants his students to succeed in this class. Great professor! As long as you keep up with the work and be in the time limit you will pass.
Do not be fooled by reviews. He told students that he would give 5 extra credit points to rate him and send him a screenshot. He gets angry at students for asking questions and is rarely in the classroom. He never explains what calculus is and why we do or how the problems works, just solving the problem as teaching.
Don't be misled by the ratings. He gives extra credit for his ratings, which leads to good reviews. He's never present in class, he gives no notes, just videos of him doing an example without explaining. His grading makes no sense. He shows you what he wants on the test, but when the exam comes he wants a different method without telling you.Terrible
The class is easy because he just uses Aleks for all the material. He doesn't teach anything, just makes his students do 4 hours per day of Aleks. His tests are also on Aleks. If you really want to learn from this course, do not take this class.
Professor Copeland is a great teacher who is very helpful, will respond to emails, and uses ALEKS for assignments. ALEKS is a great teaching software and really helped me understand trignometry principles.
Prof. Copeland was very responsive to emails, responding back in less than 5 minutes at a late hour of the night. This was very helpful for urgent questions about the work and tests. Overall, a good class, all the work is online and has 4 tests, including a cumulative final.
Prof. Copeland was very helpful and answered my emails in less than 5 minutes, even in late hours of the night. Which was very helpful as I had some urgent questions about the assignments and tests. Overall, a good class, all of it is online on the ALEKS program, and has a clear grading criteria.
He is a great teacher. I would definitely take him again if I could. He uses Aleks which makes the work easier to do and answers all of your questions in detail. He responds to emails with questions very quickly. He is a great teacher.
Prof. Copeland was very helpful and was easy to reach out to despite the class being online. He responded to emails quickly and was always available when needed. The class is done through Aleks where materials are accessible all the time.
The class was easy with no struggles. Professor Copeland uses ALEKS as an online program to teach. It is very self-paced and self-taught but work is not difficult at all. Tests are pretty easy if you work ahead to prepare. He gives lots of resources to help if needed. Only tedious time-wise as it is mandatory to complete 4 hours of work everyday.
Class was simple with no struggles. Prof. Copeland uses ALEKS as an online course to teach. It is has all the info you need to learn & he is always happy to give additional help. It is a self-paced course so you'll need to do 4 hours of work a day but it is not difficult at all. Tests are in person but very easy. Get ahead on work & you will pass!
Professor Copeland's class is very straightforward and is a great class to take if you enjoy working on your own time. Your grade is based on participation on ALEKS and tests which aren't difficult as long as you take some time to learn the material.
This class was very easy and straightforward. We were required to complete about four hours per day on ALEKS, which was a very reasonable workload. By using ALEKS as the main platform, the course was well-organized and clear. Everything was self-paced and as long as you kept up with the daily work, success in the class was very achievable.
An easy class if I had any previous Trigonometry experience but I didn't and that was hard. I had to teach my self through the ALEKS explanations which are not the best. The professor is readily available, answering emails promptly, however this is not a class for beginners in my opinion since there are no lecture videos of any kind.
This class is very straightforward and uses the online software Aleks for all the content. I had little to none trigonometry experience, but now with four hours a day of Aleks for four weeks, I can do trigonometry with ease. A tip is to go into review mode to review the topics that you have already learned.
Very straightforward and nice teacher, but make sure to complete all your hours daily because it does count.
Professor Copeland's class uses the software ALEKS which we used to learn the material, do practice problems, and take exams. There's a bit of a learning curve to the program since it throws you into the material, but once you get the hang of it its super helpful. The professor is also quick to answer any questions through email.
I took Mr. Copeland's online course. The learning software was very useful and helpful in learning step by step on how to solve problems. Mr. Copeland also took the time to respond to any questions that I had and was always there to assist me when I needed it. I would recommend Mr. Copeland to anyone considering his courses.
I took Professor Copeland's MO6 4 week online class over summer. Throws you into the material with a lot to learn in the just a few weeks but is is possible. I like how the ALEKS software gives you examples while also providing reviews on past topics. I would recommend this class to others.
I would definitely take this class again, and it really helped me build a foundation in trigonometry.
I got an A in this class, but not because of the professor. His teaching are posted lecture videos, and you go to class and do the homework. He is rarely in class, and at points, he yelled at students when they asked questions. 4 tests make up your entire grade. Good reviews are posted for extra credit at end of semester. Would not recommend.
Utilizes online tools very well to create a path you can take at your own pace that WILL teach you the material as long as you are willing to go over it and follow along with the work, there's very little in this course that the class doesn't walk you through and Professor Copeland also gave me timely and helpful responses when I would come to him.
Professor Copeland is great! I took an online course over summer for stats. He makes everything easily accessible and all modules are posted in case you want to get ahead. He gives you multiple opportunities to do well and the resources to do so. The workload is doable and I highly recommend him as a professor!
Professor Copeland taught the course very well, especially for a summer course, which is quite challenging due to its short term. His assignments helped a lot with understanding the material, along with the lectures he posted. I would definitely choose him as my next instructor again!
I was nervous and extremely hesitant about taking this course. The workload is not too much, very straightforward and easy to follow. My class was all online, the lectures were thorough and the homework was an example of the lecture. The quizzes were allowed 3 chances and the tests were the quiz questions. I would highly recommend.
Professor Copeland's class was great, especially for a math class over summer. Canvas page was set out well and expectations are very clear. The workload isn't too overwhelming with 1-3 assignments due every other day. Would take again in the future.
I am not the best at math, so taking this class kind of scared me. But this class went well for me. It was completely online, so with summer plans and working at the same time, it was convenient to be able to do my work from anywhere. The daily assignments range from 1 to 3, but the workload is considered light. I recommend Professor Copeland!
DON'T BE FOOLED BY THESE GOOD REVIEWS. HE GIVES STUDENTS EXTRA CREDIT IF THEY WRITE HIM A GOOD REVIEW ON THIS WEBSITE!!!!!!!!! This class was the worst class I have ever taken and it is impossible to pass alongside other classes. DO YOURSELF A HUGE FAVOR AND DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!!!
All online work is very accessible and easy to understand. As long as you do your work on time you should have no problems in his class.
Great professor, I would definitely take another one of his classes if needed. I like the fact that we have an unlimited number of attempts to complete the homework. The only drawback is the number of assignments and quizzes but it's understandable because summer term is a lot shorter than spring or fall.
Great Professor and very good class to take especially over the summer. Good amount of work but as long as you stay on top of it you'll do great.
This class was super easy and easy to understand. I took stats in highschool so everything was basically review but if you didn't it's super basic. There is hw due almost everyday but it shouldn't be that time consuming, and the quizzes and exams are all based off of past work.
This professor is great! It was easy, simple, and straightforward. Just watch the videos, take notes and do what needs to be done. I 100% recommend this class for anyone wanting to take Stats, it isn't hard to keep up with and overall this is a great class.
Overall good online course experience. I completed the course during the summer and found it to be manageable. I would recommend it to anyone looking to get a good statistics course in. There are a good number of quizzes, but if you follow along with the course guidelines and information, you should be good.
Glad I chose to take this statistic course with professor Copeland highly recommend!!!
please don't. I beg of you. DON'T
if you hate yourself take this course
there isn't enough bad reviews.
Flipped class. The subject is too hard to teacher yourself and provides videos of him solving problems not even teaching the course material. Give a pop quiz at the end of every class on the hw you do in class. Was failing until the last test because he made our whole grade based on the final and didn't tell us that until after drop date. Very hard
Took class based on his rating, very difficult. Flipped class, you watch lectures at home and do homework in class. Quiz at the end of every class. He does not lecture at all, his videos are him just solving not teaching. He was gone during most of the class periods while we did homework. Offers EC for rating him on here, hence the 5/5 reviews.
Professor is a very relaxed and chill person, cares about the students and makes sure they get the help they need when doing an assignment, gives enough time in between chapters of the class to prepare for unit tests. All around the type of professor people need.
If you go to class, do the homework's and understand them then you will do well in the course. We had four tests which make up the majority of your grade. There is no final. It's flipped classroom so we do homework in class and watch lessons as our actual homework. He offers some extra credit which is helpful. I took M16A
Very chill professor if you show up and do the work assigned you will pass the class
I would 100% recommend this professor , I had him for Stat C1000. He is very understanding, and truly wants you to succeed in his class. He gives detailed notes for you to succeed in the quizzes and test.
Professor Copeland's grading was a little frustrating, so make sure to complete each problem as he wants you to. He explained problems in his lectures fairly well, and the homework helped me understand the content.
Easy enough if you keep up with the lecture.
One of the best professors ever I would totally recommend taking this class, especially online. Pay really close attention to the lectures that are given take notes very helpful.
Took applied calc 1 with him and it was my favorite class at the time. His video lectures were very clear and to the point. With the flipped schedule we did hw in groups in class and he was always very willing to help and clear everything up. He explains topics very well. As long as you follow along and focus on the test reviews you'll do great.
I took this class this semester and would definitely recommend Instructor Copeland for all math classes. He explains all concepts thoroughly and makes math simple. Although I generally dislike math, he managed to make it easier and fun for me.
He is good professor if you show up do the homework assignments in class you will pass this class.
I've taken Copeland for three different classes now, and I have no complaints. If you have great study habits, are willing to commit time to his classes, and prefer a more self-taught approach, then this professor is for you.
He is a very very good math professor, you just have to make sure you're watching all the lectures and put enough effort, highly recommend
He is a very very good math professor, you just have to make sure you're understanding all the lectures and put enough effort, highly recommend, Parsa shams
Very patient and helpful, lenient and flexible grader, good for independent learning!
The class itself isn't bad. Statistics could be scary for some students but this class made it easier to understand and do well in. The teaching style is lecture-focused and the lectures do help a lot in teaching you how to do each homework assignment. Overall, I'd take another class from this professor.
Good teacher. Tests are straightforward and exactly like review guides. Videos of material were sightful.
Although I don't prefer online classes to in-person, I would take this course again. The organization of materials and assignments is easy to follow, there are various resources included in each unit to review and learn from, and there are no Zoom lectures.
I would 100% recommend this professor for Calculus 1. He is personally one of my favorites as he teaches well, and the tests are almost the same as his study guides. Do his study guides and keep up with the homework, and you are bound to succeed.
Mr. Copeland is an amazing teacher. Would take again for sure.
One of the best professors I have had at Moorpark. The class is very organized and the grading criteria is clear from the start of the class. There is a lot of homework but it matches the quizzes and tests he gives. He's also quick to reply to emails and is very happy to help.
Homework is Monday - Friday. Read the items that are due each day carefully, do not miss the homework since points are difficult to make up. Use the homework as a study guide for the quizzes and tests. Would take another online course from this professor.
He's a great teacher and everything was very clear and easy to follow. If you get all of your work done, and study, you will get an A. I recommend, and would definitely take his class again.
Professor Copeland was a great professor and I definitely recommend taking his class! Everything is turned in over Canvas which makes it easy. The work load is very reasonable for an online class. I was worried taking stats because I'm not very great at math but it wasn't very difficult at all. Overall a great stats class
As someone who has really struggled with math throughout the years, Professor Copeland has been an awesome teacher. Homework is very frequent but doesn't take long, each question and how to solve is thoroughly explained. Unlike other math teachers I've had in the past, Professor Copeland wants to see you succeed.
Professor Copeland's flipped classroom style is very effective when it comes to learning. Watching the material at home and coming to class ready to ask question and complete work helps with retaining the information. Professor Copeland is very approachable, and always willing to help when you need it. Tests are also fair with no surprises.
Professor Copeland was a great professor, and I definitely recommend taking his class. He makes a lecture so easy, just take notes at home and do a group project together for homework in class. I definitely would retake it again.
Fantastic teacher. The Class is self-paced, and the videos are easy to understand. As long as you do the homework, study every day, and do your best. You will have no problem getting an A. Highly Recommend.
I took Professor Copeland online which or course any math class fully online would be difficult. but he posts videos you watch every week that help you understand the material and the homework. He also makes the test similar style questions and format to his practice test and homework which helps a lot while studying. overall I would recommend him.
Super helpful! I'm a 12th grader taking my first college class and this was a super great class to take to bridge into the college world. Just enough rigor to let you know that this is still a college math class, but the professor was super communicative with students. Would want him again!
Make sure to focus on taking your notes. Also, he is very willing to help out with the problems
Took Professor Copeland online for Stats and he was amazing all assignments were posted day one of the class and I had no problems with doing any of the work. I would recommend taking him for your online class.
Took Professor Copeland online for Stats and he was amazing all assignments were posted day one of the class and I had no problems with doing any of the work. I would recommend taking him for your online class.
This class is note-heavy and your grade mostly depends on how well you do for each test (for our class, there are four tests in total). Be that as it may, there are a couple opportunities for extra credit and tons of resources available for you if you need help. As long as you're up to date in terms of notes, I'm sure that you'll easily pass.
Professor Copeland is a great professor; his video lectures are clear and straight to the point. Other than it being a flipped classroom, it was overall a fair and easily manageable class. Attendance is based on lecture and homework quizzes, and exams are exactly like the study guide. Would take again!
I took Professor Copeland's Applied Calculus class. He is a very nice, friendly teacher and I would take one of his classes again. There are a few extra credit opportunities which are super helpful for someone like me who struggles with math. Just be aware that the class is mainly graded by exams, and is a flipped classroom.
Mr. Copeland is a great professor, he equips students with multiple resources to help them succeed in his class. His ability to convey the material clearly through notes and videos that support his quizzes/tests makes students' learning experiences more smooth and memorable.
Professor posts all materials on time and often early which makes it really easy to stay organized and prepared. The class itself was straightforward and easy to follow, especially if you study the quizzes for the tests because they help a lot. His teaching style is clear, the workload is manageable, and he genuinely wants students to succeed.
I really enjoy the way Professor Copeland sets up the class. I think most students learn hands on, and with the correct guidance, we can do really well. I think if you go to every class, focus on learning the material in class, and ask the right questions, you will do just fine. Pretty easy if you put in the work to learn the material.
Class was taught in a 'flipped classroom' format, which was better than I expected. You can do the problems and discuss with your table group for extra help. Professor is approachable and helpful. Works out difficult problems on the board step-by-step when needed. Watch the lecture videos, take good notes and you will do great.
Took asynchronous, was demanding but doable. Video lectures were very helpful.
Very good professor, made calculus easy to understand. His video lectures were very helpful and the tests were similar to the study guides.
Great teacher! I would most definitely take another class with him, easy work, just stay on top of the lectures. 5/5
Great class for a busy person. Work was straight forward, and simple. I was able to manage it alongside many difficult classes and a busy schedule, definitely reccomend!
Great professor that genuinely cares about his students' success! Is easily accessible outside of class if you have any questions. The atmosphere in the classroom is very supportive and encourages group work.
The material itself can be challenging but Professor Copeland does a good job at breaking things down. The homework he assigns actually correlates to the material on tests, and he provides review problems before the tests that are extremely helpful. I would honestly recommend him as a professor to anyone taking Calculus!
I was so terrified of Calculus but I would not have been as successful if I had taken calc with any other professor. I love that I can actually ask him if I am struggling and he is always happy to explain. Class is flipped and the assignments are more for your understanding. Make sure to study using the materials he gives and you'll be great!
great professor cares about his students and very easy to deal with. I had a lot of medical problems during class and he helped me tremendously though all of it
The workload is reasonable as long as you keep up with the modules and due dates. He posts announcements and reminders, which really helps. Exams are based on what he actually covers in lecture/notes, not random material. If you participate and stay on top of things, this class is very manageable!
Professor Copeland was great. Each week we get assigned homework/quizzes that are due by the end of each day. Material was understandable and you're allowed to redo your homework assignments for a better score!
Lectures are pre-recorded on Youtube. He's easy to get ahold of and schedule office hours meeting with. His grading is strict on the tests.
Chill teacher and is always ready to help someone if they dont get the math, also willing to admit when he makes mistakes.
All in all a very solid proffesor, if your not good with online courses or time mangemnet I wouldnt recomend them to you, however if you are go for it. They have responded to all messages Ive sent so far within 24 hours of sending the messages.
Great calculus class. Study guides are a great help and very similar to the exams. He is extremely helpful with answering questions and clearing up confusion. I would definitely take a class from him again.
He was a good teacher, responded to emails fast. Homework everyday, but he made it so we can redo it and see which answers we got wrong so that helped keep the grade up. He also has everything the same percentage towards your grade so as long as you keep trying you got it. He was also very good with reassigning assignments if canvas was acting up.
Great teacher, responds to emails quickly. Always nice and asking if we need any help or don't understand the material. Class structure is manageable and easy to follow.
Professor Copeland is a pretty chill dude. Just make sure to do your homework, ask questions. You will be fine. Make a study group, it makes thing a little bit better. Just put in the effort and you will get a good grade.
The course was fairly straight forward and the homework was reasonable. The tests make up majority of your grade but they are very accurate to the material taught and the review guides are very helpful. The professor is helpful and will respond quickly to emails and offer assistance during office hours.
His assignments and tests are straightforward. As long as you do the hw and test reviews you will be able to do well.
