The 5 is for Coscia specifically and NOT for the course, which has been a total disaster (I don't think this is Coscia's fault and I think it frustrates him too tbh). Coscia basically teaches the entire course in recitation because the format stinks. He's super patient with us and I don't know how anyone passes without him. So helpful!

Don't love having class in an auditorium, but Professor Coscia has a clear, deliberate lecturing style and welcomes questions, even if the pace is fast. He'll make an effort to learn your name if you go to office hours or ask questions. Homework is reasonable and tests aren't worth that much. Very manageable for a big calc course.

Prof Coscia made me like Calc 1 much more than I expected. The class was organized very well, there were different types of HW on a weekly basis that you had to keep track of, so this meant that there were multiple ways to boost/hurt your grade. Office hours helped a lot. Coscia was very aware that we all came from different math backgrounds too.

Calc 1 was very easy thanks to the organized nature of the class and Coscia's great lectures. A lot of this material was review for me (I should've tried to test out) but Coscia's lectures were much better than what I had in high school and I understood all of the concepts much better after taking the class. Take notes, do the HW, and you're fine.

This was a 5 week summer course taught for 3 hours 2x a week. It could easily have been overwhelming, but Coscia structured the class with groupwork in the middle to help us solidify some of the concepts. The problem sets were long but really helped my understanding. Overall a really solid class but I wish I'd taken it during a regular semester.

Chris has made a really difficult class very enjoyable. Lecture pace is fast but understandable and he mixes in some humor, too. He allows a cheat sheet on exams so we can focus on understanding instead of memorization. His office hours are packed because he's super helpful and explains concepts well.
