He teaches the material effectively and competently. However, he goes too slowly and does not allow enough time for each student to ask more than one question during class. If you need more than one question during class answered, go to him after class or take a different professor. He can be helpful, but he can also be boring bc he goes too slow.

He's a great teacher. Take him for any math class and you will succeed! Every math class I ever take will be with him, he's such a good teacher!

Best math professor, hands down! i wouldnt recommend any other professor for math. He knows his stuff, and is very clear. if you dont understand, he is awesome in answering questions and making sure you understand. He teaches concepts and laws in the easiest way. I would take this class again if i had money to waste!

Excellent professor, my class was too large for any one on one teaching, but in the end, it's not even needed. He explains everything clearly and explicitly. Also, when it comes to giving assignments he is very straight forward. There is no reason to be unaware of any assignments.

He has everything out for you. Does problems over projector and has powerpoints which are uploaded.If you need help he is willing to set up meeings with you. There is no reason to fail his class. Very helpful!

Dona is helpful,I think he is a good teacher. This class is just difficult. There is a lot of homework. I don't blame the prof for how hard it is. He is available, provides a lot of resources. He is quirky, don't disrupt class or ask the same question he has already answered/posted. He gets openly annoyed by that but doesnt say much about it

He will take as much time as you need and help you with whatever you need. He speaks slowly and is crystal clear in his delivery. The exams are common to the department so it does not matter who you take the course with regards to difficulty level.

This isn't really a simple class, but Professor Dona makes the course very clear. I don't think I could have gotten a better professor for this class. He always responded quickly if I needed help and graded fairly. If you have to take finite, definitely try to get in his section. Great guy!

Professor Dona was an amazing teacher and the perfect fit for a course like this. A lot of the topics in Finite can be confusing, but he goes through so many examples and notes that you will be able to do it in your sleep. As long as you print out the "fill in the blank" note guides, attend class, and do your homework, you will get an A.

This class is difficult no matter what, but I couldn't imagine a better professor to teach difficult subjects in such a short amount of time with clarity. He uses real world examples to help us understand concepts and if you utilize his office hours he's a big help on top of the MAC. I wouldn't take this class with anyone else.

The notes and clarification in his class are extremely helpful for the tests. Attendance isn't really mandatory not unless it's the days to turn in homework you have to be there. Overall great professor

He is very in detail in the lectures and always answers your questions. He is also very helpful with homework and any other questions. He drops your lowest test score, computer homework score, and written homework score. The textbook is not used for Finite for homework but he does give you suggested problems in the book for studying.

Best math teacher I've ever had hands down. Notes are given and fill in the blank which was amazing. More than willing to help if you are having problems. He is super organized and really into the material which makes it easier to learn. As long as you do the given practice problems before quizzes and tests you'll be fine. You will miss him!

Professor Dona is great at what he does and he also makes math fun. If you have a corny sense of humor then his comedic relief every lecture will make it that much better. If you come to class and put in the time to do the HW and study for test, then there is no reason you shouldn't have an A in this course. Definitely take his class!

Dona is very funny and he always was excited to teach us. There were few tests and few assignments, but a great deal of extra credit. Getting A's on all the homework was very easy because the answers are provided for you. It is expected that you show all of your work though. Just go to the mac and they will help you every step of the way

Great professor! Clearly explains the concepts. A little slow for me, but not extremely slow and boring. Topic might be boring, but he tries to make it interesting. He writes the final, so he knows what to teach you in preparation for it. Many opportunities for extra credit, but only if you show up to class. Don't buy the textbook.

Had to transfer out of his section but the 2 months I went to class, I could really tell this professor cares about the subject. Very clear and insanely helpful notes, lectures were also super helpful and not boring (even though it's math!). Overall an awesome professor. Take as many math classes with him as possible!!

I have taken both M118 and M119 with him. He is a great professor and cares for his students. If you show up to class you should do fine in the class but expect a lot of studying. This course is a lot harder than Finite and there is no curve but he makes sure to go over the material in depth. He is definitely a great teacher!

I am AWFUL at algebra.. I have always struggled and never had professors I understood. But with Dona I am getting an easy B and C's on tests (which is AMAZING for me). AMAZING!!!! Finite was the first intense college class I had and he gives plenty time I between test he always reviews before a test and is overall a great professor! Lectures are lengthy but he makes them fun every so often. DO THE HOMEWORK!! That's the difference between an A and B!!! He gives extra credit but if you have to work.

He does a great job at clarifying the concepts. His review lectures before the tests always helped me a ton. He also has it where the test is actually easier than the homework so as long as you work on mastering the homework, it's not hard to get an A on each test.

Attendance is preferable but in the event you have to skip class because you find yourself puking your guts out that morning. He posts ALL of his lectures online, so you can literally watch it on line and still gain an understanding of what you missed. Extra credit is reserved solely for in class participation so don't skip class on purpose!

The only thing I disliked was having to stay the whole class in order to get full credit on our homeworks!

I love Dona, he is the department chair and writes the M118 tests. Be ready to sit with 300 other students. You have online homework due around once a week. If you dont like math or dont understand he makes it easy for you to do well, and If you understand math or like math, its super easy. I ended with a 99.8%

I receive an average grade in this class because I am not the best at math especially this kind of mathematics but he tries to make it fun for everyone. Dona's class is setup perfectly. As long as you go to class, take notes, go over the in-class examples and practice tests before tests, you will get an A. It's an easy class, but if you slack off and get behind, you may get into trouble. But if you do everything expected of you, there is no chance you won't get an A.

Get ready to print off a lot of notes for lectures. The only way to download the notes is through adobe not powerpoint which restricts different types of note taking. Lectures make no sense for a math course because you have to fill in the blank to sentences while he is teaching. You dont have to pay attention in class just go to the MAC like I did

I enjoyed that the professor puts up videos explaining some of the problems so you can go home and practice them at your own pace to really understand them. I also enjoyed that every now and then he would tell the class a joke or a pun to lighten the mood.

The best finite professor, hilarious and always giving extra credit. But you have to be in class to be able to have the extra credit and you are more likely to fail if you do not go to class. go to class and you are more likely to pass the class otherwise you will fall behind on the material which is worse.

As a journalism major, math was my biggest enemy. However, with the help of this professor, I confidently passed and can finally say I am done with math forever.

This is the Professor you want! The class will be rigorous and stressful. Prof. Dona is in a class of his own. Be prepared to spend 3-4 hrs weekly studying. I recommend a light course load when you take this class. I am terrible at mathematics but received an A. There will be plenty of extra credit. GO TO CLASS, you can't afford to miss.

He is basically the ideal teacher. He gives lots of extra credits opportunities, very clear and instructive lectures & genuinely wants you to do well.

Fantastic guy who is passionate about math and dad jokes. The textbook was online and I only used it for the quarterly written assignments. Plenty of extra credit opportunities and he's very clear about how grading works. You'll need to print out the note slides he provides. The subject can be tricky at times so definitely do the homework.

I was very intimidated starting this course, but Prof Dona is wonderful. He is very clear and concise in his teaching, and if you pay attention and follow his advise (not to mention use the numerous resources he provides!), you will have no problem passing, & maybe even excelling! I wish I could have him again, but my major is Media Arts & Science.

Christopher is one of the most well organized and well versed math teachers. His lectures are very easy to follow, but not patronizingly simple. Each lecture he has is recorded so if you don't fully understand the first time, you can go back until you grasp it. Homework can be resubmitted as many times as possible until you get 100%.

By far the best math professor I have had. One of the easiest classes I have taken, and not because it is an easy subject, but because of how Professor Dona chooses to teach it. He incorporates teachings that are fun and very informative. Throughout the whole class, I never found one thing hard about this class. He tells you how to study for tests.

Honestly, this class is hard. But Dona understands that and he's willing to provide his students with as many resources as they need to succeed. Take advantage of class time and the MAC. He really wants to see his students succeed so maintain communication with him if you are struggling and he will help you out. Plus he's got some great puns.

He gives you notes to print and you fill in the blanks during class, you receive attendance points, if you don't show up he post the lectures online. Most homework is online and you get several attempts to pass. With as much outside help that you can get and how clear he is, its really up to you to put in the work to get the grade you want.

I honestly loved having Dona as a professor. He offers lots of extra credit, no quizzes, and gives helpful practice tests that are VERY similar to the actual test. From talking to other people taking this course with different professors, I think Dona is the best professor to take this course with.

I thought this class was very easy. Professor Dona did very well explaining everything and there were many opportunities to get help if needed. Learned basic statistics and algebra throughout the course. Homework is pretty easy and your lowest exam score is dropped at the end of the year. Lots of extra credit opportunities as well.

Each day he goes over reminders, briefly recaps the last class, goes over notes, and then has us do a couple problems to turn in for attendance at the end of class. Explains material clearly and in a different way, if not understood the first time.

Professor with a good sense of humor that wants you to pass the class and do well, gives online homework with unlimited attempts to get 100%, gives extra credit opportunities, has us do attendance problems but they are easy points, drops your lowest test grade (that does not include the final though). If I had to take more math Id want him again.

I have always struggled in math, which I why I rated such a high level of difficulty. However, Professor Dona is a fine teacher. He is pretty strict about everyone staying quiet and not eating in class, but he explains math well, is kind, and is ready to answer your math questions without getting frustrated with you.

He went over everything very thoroughly! There is no way to fail if you do everything outlined in the syllabus. And listen in class.

If you struggle with math or just straight up hate it, Chris makes it very easy to understand and guides you through the material very smoothly. There is alot of HW, but it provides you with good practice and overall helps you with the exams. He gives 4 free-absences as well which is awesome. Very funny and helpful. Textbook is online.

Before adding this class, I was afraid of taking math. He made the material to easy to understand. There is a lot of homework, and he does give out extra credit. In order to pass this class you need to work on the practice question and go to the MAC lab to get help when not understanding something. If you have to take this class, take it with him.

Dona was very organized with his lectures and due dates. You knew when everything was to be done and when you had to take each test. The class was so easy at time though it was boring. But to no fault of Dona he was just teaching what he had to teach.

Christopher Dona is an amazing professor! He teachers very elaborately and he makes this class nearly impossible to fail. He looks out for his students by giving feedback and helping them if they did poorly on a test, and he gives you chances to come and visit with him and many chances to raise your grade.

Amazing teacher. Head of the math department and he's the one that makes the exams. If you miss class you won't understand the material, but if you go to class and listen he is amazing. Makes things easy. 10/10 professor.

Make sure that you attend lectures as he takes attendance as part of your grade. It isn't the usual sign in sheet, he actually lets you practice problems based on the material covered during class.

Mr. Dona is a solid professor. He tells you exactly what you need to do to be successful in this course. If you go to class, do the homework, and get help at the MAC for the things you don't understand, you should be able to get an A in this class.

Professor Dona did an excellent job at explaining things and was always very engaged with the class. The class was very test heavy, I felt like there wasn't a week that went by where I wasn't preparing for the next test. This is especially true with the upcoming final exam I feel like there is not enough time to prepare for it.

Professor Dona is a great professor. His TA's are really harsh graders on the written homework assignments. Those are worth big points so go hard on them. Overall he's a great teacher and cares about what you need. If you don't go to class you will not pass. Tests are important.

I really liked having him as a professor. He is REALLY good at letting you know what on the test, so if you put some effort in you should be more than fine. He also had a lot of extra credit. The only thing is that his TA's are really strict at grading, you'll spend hours on the written homework and you'll be lucky to get a passing grade on it.

The lectures were easy to follow along with and almost every one of the lectures are on Kaltura. Definitely recommend him for Math 118!

Textbook was not used but the lecture notes are Very helpful. If you miss a class you can still get the missing content on the Kaltura video, but you never know when he is going to give us work problems at the end of the lecture. You have to study a lot outside of class for it to reflect on your grade but overall a well taught class.

Showing up is important, he randomly takes attendance, there are fill int the blank notes and he does extra examples that help a lot. The tests are 25 questions, out of 100 points, they wrecked my grade. He is particular but reasonable, he doesn't give you busy work and he makes jokes sometimes. Math is not my favorite, but he made it tolerable.

I hate math, but Professor Dona made M118 very well-organized and straightforward. He made himself accessible and provided many resources. While I did have to work to keep on top of things, the class ended up being simple. It was a huge class, but he emailed the people with perfect test scores to encourage them, which I thought was very special.

Professor Dona is an amazing finite professor. He truly wants his students to succeed and will help you do so if you let him. He drops a lot of grades at the end of the semester which could raise your grade almost a full letter grade. Tests are straight from notes/homework/quizzes so there are no surprises. He makes extra credit available and drops the lowest of the 4 exam grades excluding the final exam. Lots of other assignments dropped at end of course. Very great delivery of course content. Professor Dona takes attendance points for showing up to class so you need to attend for these points. He typically assigns a good amount of homework, but the homework reinforces the material. I didn't do a lot of studying besides the homework. He is an all around good teacher who makes the material understandable and has fun examples.

Dona was so great! While there was homework you had to do, it wasnt anything crazy or brand new. Just about everything was the same, the notes looked like the homework, the homework looked like the quizzes, and the quizzes looked like the exam. If you fail its because you literally did nothing

If you want to succeed in this class, definitely attend lectures and do all the coursework. With this class, exams are similar to coursework.

I took M118 with a different professor and failed and I was so nervous to retake it because I am not good at math-Professor Dona changed my mind very quickly! He is an amazing professor who is very clearly passionate about his topic along with teaching. There are quite a few assignments but the practice is so helpful for getting good grades on test

He was able to convey everything clearly. I failed Finite the first time I took it back in high school, but when retaking it again in college Prof. Dona was able to teach and provide so many examples to help! The class is lecture heavy, but he provides videos to review the day after. There's lots of homework too, but low scores are drop at the end!

Professor Dona is a straight up king, I have taken him for finite and calculus and have gotten an A+ in both classes because of how amazing he is at teaching math. I love professor Dona! Before I took this class, I was terrified because I had never taken calculus, but he made it a breeze. He has printouts that you write on for his notes that not only made it easier to take notes but a lot easier to understand them as well. For someone who has never been the greatest at math, I was worried coming into this class. However, this professor made everything so easy to understand and gave so many examples that make you feel so ready for the exams. He is a great explainer and the exams are super doable and not as difficult as they seem. I would definitely recommend.

I failed math last semester because I was going through it, and I had to retake it. this professor let the class make up assignments for 75% credit if the homework was late, have gave us a 24 hour grace period on the online tests, and he's super helpful. literally the only reason I managed to scrape by this semester

Never would have imagined that I would get a good grade in a math class. I took lower math levels and either failed or got a C so I was so worried going into this class. I studied and attended class and did extra credit and ended up with a B which I was so grateful for! Very organized, professional and fun professor.

I dropped calc after attempting to take it online through Ivy Tech. I wasn't very optimistic retaking it, but I ended up with an A. Dona has great lecture videos and sprinkles in dad jokes. The class itself is time consuming (daily homework, daily classes, weekly quiz, and biweekly test), but if you finish everything you should easily pass.

Absolutely my favorite professor I have ever had. His lectures are perfectly paced, and he makes sure that nobody is left behind. I am just now finishing my second math course with Professor Dona and specifically chose him when signing up for finite math. He teaches incredibly and makes math class fun as he jokes a lot. He ensures that his students genuinely understand material; and if you don't, it's okay, just ask! He will happily explain until you do understand. Weekly homework/quizzes took some time, but weren't that bad, and as for the exams they were all multiple choice and were exactly like the practice exams. 10/10 would recommend!

Professor Dona is an amazing professor. I hadn't taken a math course in 3 years & I came in very nervous. Professor Dona made finite math extremely easy and there are so many opportunities to be successful in this course. Multiple extra credit opportunities, office hour availability, and he is very patient & helpful. I would 100% recommend

Really loves what he does and is passionate about teaching. He really cares about students understanding the topic and constantly makes sure that we are following. I would want him again. There is homework but also many extra credit opportunities. At the end of the semester he drops a bunch of grades to boost your final grade.

Best math professor I've had! Lectures cover each chapter. Rewatching them when you don't understand is really important. To pass do the hw (written hw is harder than the actual test don't stress if you don't fully understand it), Do the practice quizzes at least twice (once with notes, once without) before exams - rlly helpful for studying.

I would take Prof Dona's Finite course again. He is not a strict, boring professor. He makes dad jokes during the lecture which keeps your attention. There is a good amount of homework, but it is manageable and helpful to learn the material.

Professor Dona is amazing and you can tell he truly cares about his students. He explained each concept well and was always eager to answer questions. There is a decent amount of homework but it is fairly easy and prepares you well for the exams. Attendance does matter as there are attendance questions.

A really great professor, you can tell that he is passionate about this class and make sure you understand the material. Also gives a lot of extra if you want to improve your grade and very easy to understand. He provides a lot of examples and goes at a good pace.

The homework amount isn't too bad. He offers a good amount of extra credit that boosted me to a 103% in the class. Finite itself is easy if you just attend class and take notes. Overall great professor just attend class.

This professor is absolutely amazing. I have nothing but good words to say about this course. Professor Dona made this class very easy to follow and was flexible when it came to late assignments. I've always gotten Cs in math but I passed this class with a A+

He gives a lot of extra credit opportunities. Outside of class homework and quizzes are online and take around an hour or two depending on how much you procrastinate. He gives you multiple practice tests before tests if you do them it is a guaranteed A. He is the best teacher for Finite and you should have no problem taking this class.

Really enjoyed his teaching style, very clear and organized lectures. (Kind of homework heavy) Can tell he wants to see students succeed and he provides A LOT of great study materials so exams aren't so intimidating. Would take again!

Love his attitude. He always seems so excited to teach and he is always very well prepared for lecture. He had so many materials online to prepare for tests, but he also outlines all the different ways to study and prepare for exams. He also very clearly goes over deadlines for assignments that are outside of class as well.

I absolutely love Dona. I've always been good at math, but finding a math teacher with real passion has been hard, until I took this class. He loves to teach. There isn't an excessive amount of assignments, all of them have a purpose. If you do extra credit, your grade gets boosted. Those that fail this course did not pay attention to Dona.

The best professor you could take finite with. You can tell he genuinely loves teaching and wants you to do well. Plenty of extra credit and resources for the exams.Very clear and easy to follow along. As long as you come to class, take notes, and utilize the resources he gives you, you'll do great!

He's funny and super nice. You can miss up to 4 classes before it starts affecting your grade unless that day there is no attendance problems. Overall, I would take a course with this professor again.

He's awesome! He gives a lot of extra credit. I would recommend taking the mock tests to study for exams. As long as you attend class, take notes and do the homework, you should be fine!
