Very nice as well as helpful. Answers any & all questions you may have. The class itself is not to easy & some concepts are a little hard to grasp. Great teacher though. I would recommend him to anyone.

Dr. Gay is a great professor. I was mildly interested in Astronomy, but Dr. Gay's lectures were very interesting. He explains new concepts so that the entire class can understand by building on and referring back to previous concepts. If you pay attention and take good notes, you will pass this class. I didn't even have to buy the $60 book.

Easily one of the best teachers I've ever had. I've always been terrible at Science of any kind, but Professor Gay makes it easy. Very clear explanations, answers any and all questions, and gives more than ample opportunities to get a good grade. No homework, just show up to class, pay attention, and take notes. I only wish he taught the lab also.

Great class! Very well instructed. Attendance not mandatory to pass but essential as all test questions are entirely from lecture notes. In class quizzes w/ sample questions from tests. Tests are not easy, few multiple choice with the rest short answers requiring critical thinking. (3 to 5 sentence explanations of subject matter)Highly recommended!

This professor is really good. He's a really young guy with his PHD so he seems to have drive. I would reccomend to pay attention and go to class because the exams (three and a final) are based entirely on lecture notes. He will do what he can to help you pass as long as you show you are trying.

He is a very good teacher. I loved his class and would gladly recommend him. A little slow on grading, but provides a clear study sheet and gives really helpful extra credit practice tests before the real ones. He doesn't take attendance, but I would recommend attending all classes for note taking purposes! Can't fail if you actually try!

Young guy, so he relates well to students. No need for the book, as all test material (3 plus a cumulative final) comes from lectures. If you skip class, you won't pass, but that's because of the material being covered. Makes the science very approachable. There's no math in this class. Highly recommended.

I've always been interested in space, but professor Gay grew that interest to a whole new level. He's easily one of the coolest, well structured professors at Santa Fe. You'll be surprised when he comes to class with a PSP and Star Wars headphones. He's extremely helpful, answer any and all questions, and makes the class exciting. 3 exams, 1 final.

If you need a random science class and have any kind of interest in space then take this class! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Makes the universe Fun and Easy to learn. Online textbook isn't needed. Professor Chris is a fun teacher that wants you to succeed! He give interesting and fun lectures and most of the answers to the tests come directly from them. I'm not the best note taker, but I still averaged A's or B's on the tests just by studying the lecture notes. If you have the opportunity take him! Considering taking his astronomy class too!

Without a doubt the best professor I've ever had. I had no interest in astronomy before his class, but I ended up loving it. He made me actually want to go to class and learn every day in the SUMMER. He loves and knows what he's talking about and teaches in a way that's easy to understand so that YOU know what you're talking about. TAKE HIM!!!

I loved this class! Although the subject matter is a little boring by itself, he manages to make this class very entertaining. Hislectures are very easy to follow. You will pass this class no problem as long as you attend the lectures and use the study guides he hands out for each test. I absolutely recommend this class!

We mainly took notes in class to his lectures and then we took exams every two weeks or so. Only other grades are extra credit quizzes.

Professor Gay is good professor he gives very good analogies to make abstract concepts more clear. All of the stuff on his tests comes from his lecture so if you show up and take good notes you will do great. Would take him again.

I went out of my way to fill this out for Professor Gay - he is a cool dude and great teacher, I didn't receive the best grade but that is completely on me. I've never rated a professor before, but I just had to for Professor Gay. I have always hated science and been intimidated by it, but he made all of it so interesting. I am now obsessed with astronomy and am considering pursuing it. Show up to class and take notes and that will give you the study guide answers and then you're good.

He's definitely one of the best teachers I've had. His classes were really interesting and entertaining. The exams required a little extra effort, time and dedication, but he was always very helpful and friendly. He offered lots of extra credit options but skipping class is a big don't. I would recommend him to everyone I know. Take his class! :)

His ability to break down complicated, and at times, frustrating concepts is second to none. Lectures are entertaining, yet informative, and will have you asking questions out of your own curiosity. Tests are tests, but if you study hard and attempt to share his enthusiasm you will have no problem in this course. Great professor, would take again.

To describe him, the one word that comes into my mind about him is a sense of humor. It will hold your attention over class period. He often uses his body and walks around the classroom to visualize some stuff for a better understanding. Don't miss extra credit chances. Also, if participation guaranteed, he will do a magic with your grade.

This class is based on 3 test and the final. He lectures all class and is very vivid and detailed with it. Take good notes and you will pass. Pop quizzes are extra credit and on the exam or similar to it so study that as well. The final is 3 sections based one test 1,2, and 3. If you do better on final he replaces your older test grades as curve.

Chris is a pretty good teacher. If you need help understanding something he will take the time out to help you. A lot of writing in this course but hey it's college. There are only 4 grades. 3 tests and a final. Absolutely no homework. It's extremely hard to fail if you show up. I recommend taking notes in class and you'll ace every test. Makes things very easy to understand- even complicated stuff like quantum physics. Also, if you do better on the final it replaces your original test grade. Amazing class.

Greatest professor I've had at Santa Fe. Funny, and is good at explaining some of the more confusing concepts to students. Take good notes and read over them before the tests and you'll ace them. Also he plays Super Smash Brothers, and that's cool.

Professor Gay, I mean Batman, is an amazing teacher. Everything from his lectures will be on his tests. There are no secrets, or subjective material. He tells it like it is. He is there to help you if you need, but most don't because he makes the material clear. His tests are tough, but again, there are no questions that will be foreign.

Dr. Gay is an amazing professor, that needs to be brought on by Santa Fe College full time. I've gone to 5 different colleges and taken science courses at all of them, but Astronomy with Dr Gay hands down will be my most memorable. He's young, bright, and KEEPS YOU ENGAGED in the classroom. Professor Gay knows how to keep things interesting. His lectures are full of energy and fun. He expects you to engage in group activities for extra credit. There's a lot of material to memorize for the test, but if you study you will be okay. I highly recommend Professor Gay.

I recently remembered about Christopher Gay and remembered how awesome of a professor he was, so I decided to write a review for him on here. Very funny guy. Makes boring topics interesting and knows how to explain difficult topics in a manner that we can actually understand. There are only 3 tests and a final. The final consists of 3 sections, which are basically rewritten versions of the first 3 tests. Gives tons of extra credit. PAY ATTENTION in class, take notes,and study to pass.

Professor Gay is awesome. He is young and definitely relatable. He is extremely smart and makes hard concepts simpler to understand. Astronomy was an enjoyable class thanks to him and you do have to put in some effort in order to pass the tests but he gives you a clear study guide and offers plenty of extra credit.

Dr. Gay is by far the best teacher I have had at Santa Fe and I have been here for three years. Assignments only done in class or lab. Never gives homework assignments out of class. Come to class do all the labs. The assignments can be turned in late. Very flexible teacher. Answers all questions makes sure you understand!

No homework as long as you show up to class. Everything's done in groups, he tries to get you to figure things out for yourself, but spends the whole class walking around, helping with anything you need and answering questions. Lots of extra credit opportunities. He jokes around a lot, and usually makes class pretty fun.

In a nutshell, Chris is awesome. His tests are easy as long as you have kept up with the classwork (there is no homework unless you miss class!). He is always there to help and all assignments and labs are done in groups. The lab time is essentially just another class period. This class is an easy A if you show up to class and do the classwork.

I loved every minute of this class. Go to class, and you will understand the material. He makes it impossible to fail if you try and show him you care. He is hilarious and informational all at the same time. You don't really need the textbook, if you go to class. And if you don't go to class, the textbook is hard to understand.

Dr. Gay is a great teacher. Most of the class was doing actual physics problems, not just lecture. However, when there was a lecture, it was short and he made it exciting and fun (as much as possible for physics). He was always very nice and would answer your questions in an understandable way. He explains material that would normally be boring and incomprehensible in a way that is funny and easily relatable. He breaks down the hard stuff in terms that you can understand in stead of simply memorize for an exam. He's a great professor that I would take again if I had the opportunity.

I took 5 classes this semester, and Dr. Gay was definitely my favorite teacher of the semester. He will explain things as many times as it takes for you to understand it. I never thought I would enjoy taking a physics class so much. Professor Gay is an amazing professor that I would highly recommend to anyone looking to take a physics class, or any class he teaches for that matter. Attendance isn't strict however I wouldn't miss a lecture, since the material is so dense and he makes complex things seem rather simple. There isn't homework so the tests are your grade, including group quizzes which earn extra credit. This was probably the best profesor i've ever had, I would highly recommend taking him.

Gave us a lot of opportunities for extra credit. We were not graded on attendance to my recollection, but if you didn't show up, you would miss him telling you certain things that would be on the test, like extra credit worth 10 points. It was worth going anyways because he was very nice and gave us study guides which helped a LOT.

Batman is the absolute bomb of a teacher. I mean, you have to not be a slacker to appreciate him. But if you take the time memorizing some facts? You'll get your A, baby! Whoo Chris.

This Professor lectures and class is one of the most interactive and fun learning environment I've ever encounter so far. He is very smart, and every time he teaches its like he is learning this mind-blowing stuff. He wants to be there and wants everyone to pass his class. His lectures, test and HW set up is manageable to do is you PAY ATTENTION!

Professor Gay is probably the best professor I've had at Santa Fe. He is so funny and it is obvious that he really loves his job. He is super into video games and he's kind of a nerd, but it's cool! The class isn't difficult, just show up and pay attention. The homework is easy!

This is one of the most unorthodox physics professors I've ever seen. His class isn't a chore and he isn't pretentious. This class was actually enjoyable considering how efficient his lectures were. I hardly found myself studying at home or finding myself at an impasse due to his availability in and outside of class. Wish he taught all my classes.

Dr. Gay has one of the best teaching styles I've ever experienced. You get into groups and your groups of fellow students teach each other. His theory is students can get concepts through to other students better than teachers can. But, if you or your group still don't understand, he will gladly come over and give you great detail on what to do.

Overall, THIS IS LIKE BY FAR one of the best classes to take, not only do you learn a lot, but you also remember a lot and that says something about this guys talent.

Lots of group lab work. The labs made understanding the concepts very easy. Prof Gay even writes up his own labs for the tough stuff and it allows the student to real nail down the concepts and application. I wish I had taken hime for PHY2004!

This class was my absolute favorite this semester. The professor is extremely energetic and always makes sure the whole class understands the concepts. Make sure to show up to all his lectures, EVERYTHING he talks about is on the tests.

The class was harder than I expected, however Prof. Gay still made it enjoyable. Only about 8 homework assignments and 3 tests (third is optional). The tests are based solely off of lectures so you have to attend and take good notes. The final is cumulative and split into three parts, each reflecting the the three tests. First half is easiest.

I took Professor Gay for Summer A and made it so easy to learn a whole bunch of new information in such a short amount of time easy. He gives a lot of extra credit, and sometimes some really good hints (answers to the test), but you learn the material easily anyway. You definitely walk away from this course with a lot of new information. Take him.

Christopher is a great professor, very smart! He makes the class, that is mind-bogglingly difficult, very exciting. There is reading that goes along with the lectures but his lectures are very detailed so if you go to class you don't need to worry about the readings. Tons of extra credit in class, if you don't pass it's really your fault. Great!

Chris was probably hands down my favorite professor I've ever had. He understands he is teaching science to non-science majors, and does a fantastic job at making things fun and easy to understand. Some studying is required, but nothing too crazy. Also, he randomly gives out tons of extra credit so make sure you show up for every class!

Great professor. Definitely has a passion for the subject & goes above & beyond to make the class as enjoyable as possible. I would recommend him to anyone. However, personally, the material was not enjoyable to learn for me. He made it bearable, and most others seemed quite interested, but if you aren't a huge fan of this subject you may be bored.

Profesor Gay is the best profesor Ive ever had! Physics is challenging but the structure of the class helps you understand the material (you work in groups). He really cares about the students and wants you to get an A in the class. Hes hilarious and makes class fun! Oh and ask to watch his old band videos, defintenly worth it.

This man is a Santa Fe College treasure. Gracious amount of extra credit, spellbinding lectures and he is totally hilarious. It's hard to screw up in this class unless you're a terrible person. 3 tests with the exam having parts of those tests in some capacity which will replace test scores if you do well. I will miss this class alot, recommended!!

The course itself is FASCINATING & it's mostly due to his teaching style. Seriously, he has a gift. Could easily make watching paint dry mind-blowingly interesting. Guys, take this professor. He gives fantastic, funny lectures and you will NOT have to read your textbook. I hate science but love him. He is extremely passionate about science and gives tons of visuals and obscure metaphors to help you remember course content. Register for classes early and grab his course before it's gone.

He is able to make anyone understand physics. I thought I was going to go in and barely get a c, but I easily got an A. IF you show up and do the assignments in class you'll get an A. His lectures are super fun, I definitely played myself into thinking Id go to an 8 AM lecture but he literally MADE me want to go to class and learn about the universe. Not only is he hilarious, he legitimately helps you pass the class (helpful out of class) TON OF EXTRA CREDIT.

Professor Gay made getting up at 7AM a welcomed task rather than a chore. I have never had so much fun in a class before and every class felt memorable. Just study the information that he talks about in class and youll be good to go.

Professor Gay did a very good job in explaining the material. Not only did we get an explanation but we had hands on experience in discovering what we were learning by doing the labs. Overall I would highly recommend this class to other students. The style of the class was very engaging and properly illustrated physics in all of its glory.

I got badly hurt right before the semester started and he let me work with him as I was dealing with post-op doctor appointments, like letting attend one of his other lectures instead of the signed up for. I'm not very good at science, and he was able to explain things well.

You will not regret taking this class. He makes every class interesting. If he didn't stand on a table or end up rolling on the floor was it really class? Stand up guy with lots of extra credit opportunities and wants to see you succeed. If you do poorly on the first two exams, the first two sections on the final will completely replace them.

Easy A if you show up to class and do your work. Lab and Lecture are combined so you get to leave early some days. Funny and corky which is a plus. Open notes tests and regrades are allowed. If you have to take physics, take it with him!!!

This course by far has been my best experience with an online class. It was well-organized, engaging, interesting, and actually fun. Even though it was online, I felt like I was taking it in person. I'm actually going to take applied physics just because Prof Gay teaches it, and I am not a "science" person. It's not a hard class. 11/10 recommend.

This class is very reliant on being there every day but Prof. Chris is very understanding and will help you as much as he can to ensure that you're never lost. Professor Gay is a great astronomy professor at Santa Fe. For my class we had lectured every Tuesday and Thursday. They were not mandatory but you would have to take notes on the videos if you want to pass. There were 8 homeworks, a lot of extra credit, two tests, and a three part final exam.

Professor Gay was the best teacher I've had so far in college. He is a great lecturer. As long as you take good notes (which you are allowed to use on the test), then you will do great in this class. To help out, he assigns plenty of bonus points and tells you how to get great scores on the homework. I would take him again!

Best online class to take at Santa Fe college. he will send the link for YouTube videos that will be the lectures you need to follow. You can take the testa using your notes. Professor Gay honestly had me thinking of changing my major with how engaging he made the material. Complex ideas were made understandable through analogy and humor. Although the class was online, he was easily reachable almost anytime. It was like you could actually have a conversation with him rather than wait hours for an email reply.

Tests are open book and are based on the lecture videos(which are very fun to watch). Prof Chris is very caring about his students and wants them to pass

Great professor. No complaints whatsoever. Lectures are clear and engaging, and he makes himself readily available to provide assistance whenever it is needed. Grade is test heavy, but tests are open notes and all material is covered in the lectures. The final exam is quite difficult, but doable as long as you take detailed notes.

Take Prof. Gay! He posted video lectures each week (2-3 hrs. each week). Take detailed notes, because you will be allowed to bring printed/written notes into each test. He provides a lot of extra credit, do all of it as it helps your overall grade. If you put in the effort this class is easy.

He is an amazing professor! He is very passionate about his job, so his lectures are always interesting and exciting. He uses Discord to communicate, which made reaching out to him very easy. He replies quickly, and he also offers amazing extra credit opportunities. I would highly recommend this professor! One of the best classes I've ever taken!

If I could take Prof. Gay for every science class, I would. The way his class is set up is collaborative and encourages retention. He makes it fun and interesting to learn, and he offers lots of extra credit and second chances. Each unit has a big test, then a retake of that test, with the higher score kept. It is also a section of your final.

Uses You Tube for lectures and Discord for discussions. Lectures are engaging (and sometimes funny). Tests are direct reflection of the lectures so....NOTES, NOTES, NOTES are important. He also gives extra credit and additional chances on some stuff. I'd love more classes with this teaching style. Great teacher!

AMAZING!!!! I did not know what to expect from this class other than it was a requirement for my degree. But when I tell you out of all credits I have taken this semester Professor Gay left the biggest impact. You will not get bored he will keep you on your toes with interesting lectures. This course is hard to fail unless you're trying to fail.

You will pass his class if you come to every class because he will create a way for you to understand every new equation.

Professor was very nice and caring as he wants his students to pass. The only issue I had was the exams are extremely difficult, but he does provide notes via his YouTube videos. There is a good amount of extra credit, but as I said, exams are definitely the challenging part. Homework is very easy so do them. Sign up if you see this Professor.

Prof Gay is fantastic. runs a great online course with clear instructions, no reason not to get an A in this class but you have to keep up with lecture videos, and review extra credit. Lectures are engaging and easy to keep up with, most of the questions from EC are on the exams. Explains things well and keeps in touch throughout the semester.

Professor Gay cares about his students and wants them to pass. Make sure you show up to class because the lectures and group work are done in class. He took over my class with a month left in the semester and managed to do an amazing job in teaching the class the material we needed to pass. You will never feel bad for being confused about material.

Professor Gay clearly has so much passion for astronomy. He makes some of the more difficult chapters easy for anyone to understand, and his teaching style is light-hearted and fun. It is still a college course, you do need to keep up with class materials, but get ready for some goofiness and great jokes along the way.

I took this course online and would have preferred to take it in person. It is extremely easy to get off the pace and begin. I watch his lectures at 2x speed because some can be quite long. This class was extremely fun, and I hope to meet him someday to thank him for making the class manageable and not overwhelming.

Professor Chris is downright awesome. His lectures are a little on the lengthy side, for good reason. He does a great job explaining things to make sense. His attitude and sense of humor makes this class such a pleasure. The tests are based directly from his lectures, so take good notes. All the tests were untimed and open book. 10/10.

Class is heavily based on lectures with homework assignments. Get ready to take notes!!! The lectures are fun and you can tell he has a passion for astronomy. I enjoyed the class and feel I learned quite a bit despite not being great at science courses :)

Professor Gay's AST1002 class is a real treat. His lectures are engaging and he has a great sense of humor. While the exams can be challenging, he provides helpful resources like YouTube videos and Discord discussions. I also found unstuckstudy ai to be a lifesaver for studying. Overall, a fantastic class!

I would 100% recommend Professor Gay and call someone crazy for not taking this course with him. He truly cares and wants all of his students to get an A. His class is well organized and he is extremely clear on how he will grade. As long as you show up and follow instruction, you will succeed in this course. Pick a good group and you will be fine!

Prof Chris is super energetic and his lectures (as of now) are mostly videos of him lecturing a Zoom class (?) where he speaks to a chat (you can't see chat but it doesn't take away much, just lengthens them which I'd skip a lil). I loved that when I opened the course everything from weeks 1-16 were laid out with no surprises. EC offered for tests.

Chris was an absolutely amazing professor! If you have never taken a physics course before, or are nervous about not understanding, take him! He will work with you to ensure your understanding! It's clear he wants everyone to succeed! Very clear lectures, and you work in groups throughout the class! This goes for both the class and lab!

All you have to do is take notes on the lectures and you're so golden. Gay's lectures are very informative and I never felt it necessary to do extra reading to understand material. Would take again and again

Professor Gay is probably the best professor I've had yet! He was always willing to help out his students in any way. His lectures were very through and funny to watch. I definitely did not feel the need to read from the textbook as his lectures were very informative. I highly recommend taking his class.

Literally the best professor ever- funny, witty, incredibly intelligent. somehow he makes every content relatable and easy to understand. educators who do that are true professionals. i literally sometimes watch his videos in my free time just because he is such an entertaining educator. take him. you won't regret it :)

This prof is great, but the CLASS IS HARD if you're not a stem major. However he did everything in his power to help us, from open notes tests to lots of extra credit and accepting late work for full credit. Great guy, but get ready to work for your grade. There's over 100 lecture vids and the tests weren't easy the EC helped a lot though

His class was so easy just make sure you watch the videos and make time for them as they can be pretty lengthy!
