Steer clear of this professor. He is not clear in his lectures. He expects you to understand after one example is done, I learned everything about statistics from the tutors in the math lab. He left so much important information out of his lectures. Take anyone but him!
This professor is a quality prof and will grade you realistically. If you want to know how you are truly doing in the subject, you will find out. He is firm in his policy but also very helpful. Teachers like this one do not cheat you out of getting an education. I would expect a lazy student to rate him poorly.
Is he an easy A? No. But then again, what math class is? Bottom line, he's a great professor. Not only does he know his stuff, but he also cares about his students. He takes an interest in you as a person - you're not just a number.
He's a fantastic professor. I'm really glad to have had him in class. He's willing to spend the time with you if you really need it. Make sure you do all the work, though. You can really get behind if you slack because he's pretty laid back. Don't mistake that for pushover.
He really cares about his students and is entertaining, so you stay alert. The best part is that he likes to teach, and is good at it. He seems lax, but do not confuse that for doing what is expected of you. We started with 25 students and ended with about 13. I especially liked his sense of humor. Would take him again.
Really great professor. Funny and engaging. He also really knows his stuff. Tests are not too bad if you study. Make sure to do your homework!
Chris is really good at taking complicated concepts and making them easy to understand. His tests are reasonable and given in the Testing Center so you have unlimited time. He is also really good one-on-one if you have any issues. He's a good listener and really cares about his students.
This class moves really fast in the summer! Chris does a great job teaching and is really good if you need extra help. But try not to do a summer class - it just moves too fast!
Chris is a really good teacher. He's very approachable and helpful, especially during his office hours. He treats you very well and you can tell he really cares. Take him - he rocks!
Great guy - made this class a cakewalk. he's laid back and very fair.
Good for those who are mathphobes! There's a lot of work in this class, though no matter who the prof is.
Hard class, but great teacher. He's very patient with you, but does not tolerate laziness or not doing your work. He doesn't take excuses for not doing your best.
I loved this class. Mr. G was really great and was so helpful. Just make sure you're prepared - as nice as he is, he doesn't take excuses.
Chris was really cool. He treats students like people. Just make sure you do all the work he assigns and keep up. Falling behind is a killer.
He's really kind and understanding, but the class material is not easy. Make sure you do all your work and do your best to keep up in class.
He was really good, but better during office hours. He's a great teacher and really cares about whether you succeed or not. You have to go to him - he won't chase you down to get help.
Chris was really cool. I really enjoyed this class, but math is my weakness. I'm very glad he made the material clear - he doesn't mind repeating himself if you need it.
Mr. Golubski was a fantastic professor. Make sure you go to class - if you get behind it's over. His tests are hard, but he's good with partial credit. If you take the time to get to know him, he can be really helpful. He loves to teach math and help you understand. But if you're lazy, he'll write you off.
I would not recommend. He shows you one example then expects you to understand the material the first time. He goes off subject all the time and wastes valuable class time.
He's really good. Unfortunately, many people don't appreciate him because there's a lot of material to cover in the class and he can't go as slowly as everybody wants. But he's really awesome if you need the help. Take him!
He presents the material, but his reviews are more limited to answering questions one on one or as a class sometimes. I wish he was more proactive about reviewing what will be on the tests instead of making it more of a guessing game. This may be no different from other stats profs. Of course expect to read and reread and repeat, use tutors and hw.
Chris was a very good stats professor. I think he has high standards and is not afraid to enforce them. What makes him a good prof, though, is that he genuinely cares about his students. He won't let you be lazy or give you a pass for no reason, but he listens and gives HONEST AND GOOD feedback when you really ask for it. Take him - he's great.
If you work hard, go to class, and do all the homework, you'll be fine. You have to be pretty self sufficient, he doesn't respond to his email often. He has issues with posting assignments and grades on time. His lectures are helpful, but out of class he isn't helpful at all. I don't know why hes on the hottness scale...
I had an 8AM class and he NEVER showed up on time. He would come to class at least 20 min late everyday. He also never put in grade and took about a month to give back test grades. He was a very bad teacher. I do not recommend him.
Slow at grading, massive book homework he arbitrarily grades . A project worth 15% of grade never assigned, highest test grade to replace it as he promised that he didn't factor in my grade. He "forgot" to give us the ACC evaluation. He knows his math, a good teacher, but very poor in organization. Spread too thin teaching at other schools, too.
The people that complain about Chris don't like that he enforces strict policies. I was in a group of students that complained about the work they didn't do but they still wanted a good grade. This man is a very good teacher - IF you take the class seriously. If you're lazy, don't bother.
He's not as demanding as everybody thinks. The class is easy if you do the work and ask questions when you don't understand. He's a great communicator and will not stop until you understand. You just have to ask. I got an A and it was not hard at all.
Amazing guy. Genuinely enjoys teaching. Best teacher I've had in my life and I'm in my 40s. Take him!
Professor Golubski was really good. If you're lazy, don't bother taking him. But all the work he expects you to do pays off in the end. It's not that hard of a class if you put time and effort into it. Make sure you go to his office hours!
This class is not for somebody who expects to do only a little work. You're going to put in at least 8-10 hours a week outside of class. He's a VERY good lecturer, and he knows he is - that's why he expects you to know the material really well to get an A. It's easy to get a B or a C, but an A - nope. Just too tough for an A.
Professor Golubski is a very good lecturer. He's patient, but doesn't take garbage. Not sure what everybody's talking about him being hard. I got an A without breaking a sweat.
Great guy, great professor. Best math teacher I've ever had. REALLY funny too, if you're into that kind of thing.
Great stats professor. Funny and inspirational. Make sure you go to class, though. It's a killer if you miss.
Great guy. Make sure to come to class. Miss more than a couple and you get irreparably behind.
I think he's a really good teacher. Everything in class is easy to understand, but you have to understand what's going on behind the scenes to take the exams. He expects you to be able to think on your feet. He's funny and entertaining, too.
Mr. G was an incredible professor. He's good in class but even better one on one. He wants to know about his students as people. You're not just a number.
Really good teacher. Tests are not super easy, but if you understand the examples and homework, you should do well. He's great with questions and doesn't judge. Not your typical out of touch math professor.
He is a really great guy. Has high expectations and doesn't waver from his standards. But he cares whether or not you learn. Take him. He's great.
Great teacher, hard tests. Expects a lot. But he does care about his job and is helpful if you ask.
I honestly have NO idea how he has so many great reviews. He last minutely cancelled 60% of the lectures with little to no notice. He loved to brag about how much money he had and how smart he was. He rarely followed through on anything he said would do. Some days he very nice and helpful and other days he would just show up to play on his phone.
To be fair, I can see how he might be polarizing. You really like him or you don't. I'm on the "like" side. He doesn't take crap or excuses and expects hard work. He will help you if you ask, but only if you ask. Put in the work, you get a good grade. His expectations are high, but very clear. Best math professor ever.
This guy is great. He's encouraging and kind. He really believes in you. Without him, I would've never finished this class, let alone get a good grade.
He was great in a summer term. I can only imagine how wonderful he is during a long term. He saved my semester. He's crystal clear on expectations and really helped a person like me who is a mathphobe but not afraid to do hard work. Loved him!
Great guy, very helpful.
Best. Professor. Ever.
He's kind of arrogant, but he makes it easy to pass statistics which is a course I've already had to drop once because it was too difficult. He is there for you and will do what he can to help. Just don't miss class because it will seriously mess you up! He's good with partial credit, which can be a life savor on the tests.
I've had to take stats more than once here and he's the best teacher I've had here by far. Very clear in the lectures, and has reasonable expectations. Still, it's a math class and is not easy.
Great prof who is funny and helpful. He explains things well, but there is a lot of material.
Never thought I could get an A in a math class, but Chris encouraged me and helped me to do it. Wasn't super hard either. Just come to class, do the work, and ask questions.
Really great teacher - cares about you. He teaches the practical side of things so you understand WHY you are doing the math you are learning. Top notch.
He's not your typical math nerd. He's very clear in explaining and can relate to students well. Just make sure you get help if you need it - don't wait until it's too late.
I liked him a lot. I noticed that not as many people dropped this class as a lot of other math classes. He makes it pretty easy to pass, as long as you do the work. Knows his stuff - AND explains it well. If you have to take this class but don't like math, he understands and gets you through it.
Chris knows how to teach well and is reasonable with the expectations. Still, the class is a bit of hard work.
Good teacher, but the class is hard. Do the homework, or you'll have trouble.
Easy class. I don't get why others think it's tough. Do the work, get an A. No big.
Really enjoyed the class. Funny and informative. Makes a tough class bearable.
The class was hard, but Chris encouraged me through it. This was my second time taking the class. The first professor was awful, but Chris was patient and understanding.
Great teacher, hard subject. He's laid back in class, but he makes you work for it. Don't be fooled into thinking he's easy because he's chill. Took a lot of work to get a B, and I almost got a C.
Good class, great teacher. Made me love math again!
I don't love math, but Dr. Golubski was great. He was relatable and understanding. He has high expectations, but is very clear. No surprises. He's an excellent professor.
I can't say enough good things about Professor Golubski. He's warm, funny, and best of all, a great math teacher. He makes goofy jokes, and I actually look forward to this class. Never thought I'd say this about a math class!!!
Overall easy going and explains material well. Main complaint is that he is very slow with grading tests, so it can be difficult to see where you stand until the very end. Gives EC opportunity at very end of class. Lots of written HW and online assignments. Apparently after this semester he is only going to use the online HW.
Good class, great prof. If you stay on top of the work, this isn't that bad of a course. Just be sure to communicate with him if you need help. Don't miss class. You will get behind and screwed if you do.
This class is good, especially with Professor Golubski teaching it. I had to take it twice, but the second time I got an A. Professor Golubski encouraged me and got me through it. Can't thank him enough. Take him, he rocks!
So glad I took Chris's class. He's very clear when explaining concepts and is also great in office hours. Very supportive too.
terrible teacher. I live far from the campus where class is and when it came to test time there was a test I was unable to take because of flooded streets and I had to take the test at the same campus as the class was at and I was blocked. I emailed him asking for extention he said no sorry not my fault and gave me a 0. I would not recommend.
Chris was a really great professor. He's really caring and understanding when it comes to math anxiety and is really patient with students who don't get it. Best math professor I've ever had.
Good teacher. Never really been good at math but he seemed to make it doable. Had some issues during the semester but he worked with me and and always answered emails promptly. Only complaint was how slow test grading was. It took weeks to get results back so you were just left in limbo waiting.
I'm taking him now for a summer class, and I'm so glad I did. He's great in lowering my anxiety with math. I actually think I can do this! A good teacher like Chris makes all the difference in the world.
Chris was the worst teacher I have ever had; and I took him twice! He missed about 60% of the semester, either cancelling 5 minutes before class or not showing up at all. One month he cancelled 6 out of 8 classes and then tested us over the material he never taught. He is moody and humble brags about himself constantly. DO NOT TAKE HIM!!!
Really enjoyed the class. He's great at teaching and really helps the students understand when they're lost. He has high standards, and some might not like that, but I think it was fine.
I can see how people might think he's polarizing. He's a great teacher. Very confident, and not afraid to tell you (respectfully) if you're not cutting it. He's not the easiest prof, and doesn't apologize for husband high standards. BUT ... he does care. If you don't like him, it's probably because you didn't want to put the work in.
Great class, totally loved him.
Great class, he's the best math teacher I have ever had.
He is very patient with people who struggle in math. He gives out prepared notes so you don't have to spend the whole class writing. Tests are fairly predictable and not super hard. A really good guy - take his class!
I failed this class during the Spring and took it over the Summer. He is very patient and understanding. I came into this class with very little self-esteem with regards to math and I left really interested in this stuff. It wasn't easy, but I did get an A, and I'm proud of it. Thanks Chris! YOU ROCK!
Just finished a summer course in statistics with him. He was not only the best math professor I've had, but also the best overall professor I've had. He was funny, engaging, and explained material so well. If you need the math credit, take him - he's a great prof!
I knew I was in for trouble when I decided to take Statistics in five weeks. But, although there was a ton of reading and so much homework, Chris is an amazing professor who genuinely wants to see students succeed. He has very straightforward test, and makes sure that all needed materials are well covered. He's a great and super funny guy!
He's pretty easy to understand as a teacher he's pretty good but the homework is super confusing. His tests are written one way and the homework from the book is way harder and very different. Homework is not useful at all so you really have to pay attention in class and ask questions.
This is going to be interesting. So, I failed this class. But if I had listened to what Chris said on the first day, I wouldn't have. I needed to do more of the homework and spend more time studying. I should have stayed for office hours. He's a very good professor, but you have to put the work in. He doesn't hand it to you.
Not a hard class if you do your homework. Quizzes and tests are just like what's on the HW. Go to office hours, he's really helpful.
He's really straightforward. If you try and do the work, you'll get a good grade. Lectures are fun and he's a funny guy. Tries to teach you about life.
Good: He's very funny and always willing to take questions and see you during office hours. He makes the class seem pretty simple. He is also a very nice grader (IMO). Bad: Assigns too much homework that is mostly unrelated to the test. Frequently cancels class without notifying by e-mail, and can be inconsistent with delivery of grades
He's a really good instructor who cares very much about his students. There's a lot of HW in the class, but overall, this was a good class.
Easy A, if you show up and do the work.
If you do the homework and ask questions, this class is an easy A. Chris is really funny and engaging, and it's clear that he loves what he does. Take him for this class - he's fantastic!
He is an amazing professor! He explains the material really well and he wants every student to do well in his class. His exams are pretty straight forward and easy if you go to class and do the problems in class. He is probably the best professor I've taken so far. I would strongly recommend everyone to take his class.
Prof. Golubski is a really good math teacher - the best I've ever had. He's really straightforward and tells you exactly what he expects. If you do the work and go to class, you can get a good grade.
Professor G is a really nice guy. A little intimidating at first, but he's really cool when you get to know him. He has high expectations but the great teaching prepares you to do well. I really got more than I thought I would out of this class.
This class was a lot of work.... But obviously because it's math.. DO NOT GET BEHIND BECAUSE YOU WILL LITERALLY DROWN IN ALL THE HOMEWORK HE GIVES!!! Just don't procrastinate and you'll be okay.
Chris is a really good professor and an overall good guy. This class is a lot of work, but if you approach Chris one on one, he will really help you out. He cares about how well you do, and while you need to work for it, it's really doable.
This class is hard and a lot of work, but Golubski makes up for it. He's there to encourage you and is really funny in class. He's also a really good teacher.
A lot of work, but doable if you pay attention, go to off9ce hours and ask questions. Lecture is entertaining and fun, more than you'd expect in a math class.
This class was challenging, but Professor Golubski is totally awesome. Great explanations, and he's funny too. Really cares about you understanding. I will say that he has high standards and the exams are pretty hard.
I took this course because the reviews on here were good, but I wasn't impressed. I know that it's math, and math can be challenging (especially for me!) but I felt like I was teaching myself on mymathlab. He insists you ask questions in class, but when you do, he responds condescendingly. This was probably my least favorite class at ACC so far.
The class was not super easy, I definitely had to work for it, but he is a good teacher. It's an early AM class, so it is a little dry at times, but he makes corny jokes to lighten the mood. Make sure you do all the work, he does not cut you a lot of slack on it.
Chris is a real gem. This is the third time I took this class, but I totally understand him. Now, he gives a lot of homework and the tests are hard, but he explains things so well and cares if you put in the effort. Some in my class didn't like him, but it's because they're lazy and he doesn't take excuses.
I'll be honest, the class is hard. It's a morning class, and it's also accelerated, so it's faster. But he does a really great job of explaining and is always willing to hang around and help. Some people told me they didn't like him because it wasn't an easy A and there was a lot of work. But I feel so prepared for calculus now.
i won't lie this is a very hard class but i would probably have failed with another professor besides Chris. He is an amazing lecturer and makes the material clear to understand. Exams are hard but if you go to class and actually study you can easily make an A/B. i wouldn't take stats with anyone beside Chris!
Chris was really awesome. He expects work from you, but I'm bad at math and still made an A. Just try, follow his examples, and ask questions and you'll be just fine. Best ACC professor yet!
Pros: Theres worse at acc? Cons: Insanely disorganized, doesnt update grades until the last week of class, takes 3 or 4 weeks to grade EVERY single test. You never know where you stand. Pretends to not receive emails, doesnt respond. Picky on grades, does partial credit backwards (i.e. you lose more points than you get).
This was a very weird class. Many students complained he was too hard, but he just has high expectations. Yes, he's slow at grading, but you get good feedback and he cares. Too many people in my class just expected to be handed an A, and got upset when it didn't happen. He is the best math prof I've had here.
All I can say is....... maybe there is a god because this man is finally done teaching. Thank GOD
Professor Golubski was really great. He's very thorough in his lectures and really cares about his students. Doesn't mean the class is easy, but having a good teacher really helps. Even if you're not good at math, it's doable, but you still have to work. You will fail if you don't do the work. Don't get behind!
I really had a hard time with this class because I'm not good at math, but he was amazing. Was very patient with my questions and took the time to make me feel better when I struggled. One con: he doesn't take any late work at all for pretty much any reason.
Love this guy. He made stats relevant and interesting. And while this class required work, it was fun. Take him, he is really awesome, if you don't mind a little work.
Just finished a class with him. This is the second time I took this class, and he made it much easier. Great class, loved Chris.
I don't like math much, and I'm not very good at it. Prof. Golubski made this class useful to somebody who isn't majoring in math. He taught us stuff about finances and credit cards, and it was really interesting. I learned more from this math class than I did in any other one I took before. Very useful!
Second time I've taken the class, and it was SO MUCH better than the first. He's patient and understanding, but you still have to do the work. No extensions at all. Make sure you're organized. He gives handouts for every chapter, which is awesome.
Started off with good lectures but a quarter through the course he stopped. Would give 1 example from an entire chapter and seemed unprepared with his material. Took more than 2 wks to get tests back. Made you feel dumb for asking a question over something he went over. Disappointed with his teaching methods.
I really enjoyed that he gave prepared problems out to work on during class and lecture. He also did reviews of the last class at the beginning of each lecture. If you pay attention to these examples, the exams are very similar. Great teacher, great class!
Really enjoyed the class. Good professor with crystal clear expectations. He's a little slow in grading papers, though.
If you struggle in Math at all avoid him for College Math. Distance learning would be more helpful. His teaching style is brief lecture and one or two very basic examples then early release but assigns really hard HW problems and does not give test reviews. I was in learning lab for all of it. Attendance is mandatory and pretty useless.
Really good professor. Explains things very clearly, but doesn't baby you. Makes his expectations very straightforward. Exams are easy if you can can do the homework. Gives time to do homework in class, so plenty of help available.
If you want an easy professor, he isn't it. That said, he's by far the best math teacher I've ever had. He is strict about deadlines and the exams aren't easy, but I learned so much. He's also much more relaxed if he believes you are doing the work and trying.
If you try, he will make it really easy for you. Homework is way harder than the exams. Good with partial credit. Really cares about his job. I was so afraid of this class but it was all for nothing.
All this teacher does is brag about how rich he is. First day of school he told us he bought a $450,000 downtown condo and drives a Tesla. WOW Good for you. He said he only teaches because his other job he makes a ton of money. I could not take his bragging and had to drop the class. It was incredibly how self-centered this guy is!
Gives formula sheets and tables for tests. Test questions could be real life situations. He wants you to know the concepts, not memorize the formulas. We did do practice questions the second half of the semester. He doesn't respond to emails often. If you can find the answer in the syllabus, he will not answer. Practical, realistic instructor.
Really good and thorough instructor, but makes you work for it. Hard exams, but he is very willing to help if you ask for it. Great at teaching.
This class is hard, but he makes it easier - if you listen to him. He sets really high standards that are intimidating, but if you struggle, he will help you as much as you need. I couldn't see making it in this class without a really large amount of time outside of class - be prepared to WORK. But he's a big teddy bear if you get to know him.
I took this class in the summer, my first mistake. Never take a difficult class in the summer especially a math course. You never use the book, he talks about his personal life way too much. Who really cares about your business, irrelevant to us. I highly recommend GUSTAVO CEPPARO his great and explains the material in a very understandable way.
Not an easy class, but not ridiculous either. He uses examples from real life to illustrate the concepts in the class. It was a summer class, though, so it's a lot of work. You can't miss a single day or you're behind. We lost a lot of folks because they couldn't keep up.
Hard class, lots of homework. He doesn't make it easy, but he's easy to work with. Golubski teaches very well and is crystal clear with explanations. Very caring and very good one on one. If you don't do your work, there's no slack cut to you.
Great and entertaining class. I learned so much useful math here. Homework is easy, and so are the tests. He really wants you to do well, and doesn't make it too hard.
Really cares about the students, will gladly help if you ask. Easy tests, just like the homework.
Really fun class, emphasizes real world stuff over memorizing formulas. Always glad to help, makes corny (but funny) jokes all the time.
While the class isn't easy, Golubski is the best math teacher I've had, and in the top 3 teachers overall. He's great in class, but AMAZING one on one in office hours. Very approachable too. Keep up with the homework, go to office hours, and you will be fine.
Professor Golubski is a character. I was very nervous taking college algebra but professor Golubski made it much easier to learn. Effort goes a long way with him. If you do ALL the homework (and its a lot) you will be prepared for the exams.
Tough, but fair. There's a lot of work in this class, but it's all necessary. He will stay and help past his office hours of you need it. Very kind as a person. Don't be lazy, he doesn't take late work.
He's a very good communicator. He explains things super well, but also expects you to know all the details. Exams are hard with no curve or extra credit. Good with partial credit. If you miss class, you get lost FAST.
He is the worst Professor I have ever had. Does not explain the material well. stats is very easy subject but he made it so hard for me because he only goes over one example per a chapter and I had to study the rest of the chapter by my own.
You have to keep up with the work or you will get lost. He's great at talking to you individually if you don't understand in class.
I'll be honest - I didn't like him at first. He has high standards and can be very intimidating if you don't do the work. He doesn't take late work under pretty much any circumstances. BUT - I was wrong about him. Meeting with him individually was awesome, and he's very caring and wants you to do well. Not easy, but an awesome prof.
Rate my professor failed me!! I cant comprehend how Chris had such great reviews. He was the moodiest professor Ive ever had. One day hell be in a great mood and present an awesome lecture... next day hed be rude and codescending to his students and the lecture is spent bragging about his income and personal life. Avoid avoid Avoid!!
This guy is kinda a tough nut to crack. He's a really great professor, but if you get on his wrong side, watch out. He takes ZERO excuses and expects you to put in however long it takes to do the work. Some of my class loved him and some didn't at all. I learned to love stats from him. But it's my opinion you either love him or hate him.
Professor Chris will take all the time needed to explain problems you have if you approach him during office hours. During class, he sometimes moves fast but he's more than willing to make up for it. He's also really sweet and kind if you just talk to him.
Prof Golubski was an amazing instructor. This is my third time taking this class, and I made a good grade this time! There was a lot of homework, but I'd also go visit him during office hours. He's tough, but only in expecting you to do the work and try. He was my biggest cheerleader - he really cares. Best math prof ever!
Just awesome! very caring professor who, if talked to, will curve your grade if you're struggling. As long as you do the work, and study for the tests, you will pass. Very relaxed when it comes to written homework from the book. Took his Saturday course and still managed to pass despite it being one day a week. He knows his stuff!
I do not recommend this professor to hard working individuals. He spends 95% of the lecture talking about his personal life and how hes better than everyone because he drives a Tesla. I come to class because I want to learn! He only uses the textbook for homework. Take my advice and save yourself the stress and get someone else!
Great professor who uses many personal and real world examples to keep student interest. Goes off on tangents sometimes, but they are interesting. Tests are just like the homework.
Really helpful. Makes statistics fun. Has a lot of hands on activities and not a lot of boring lectures. Uses real world examples to teach concepts.
Prof. Golubski is really good at explaining complicated math concepts to students whose strength isn't math. He breaks things down into basic ideas and is very patient. He is even better in office hours one-on-one. He gives a lot of homework, but it's very similar to the test.
Not an easy class, but Chris did an amazing job teaching. Lots of homework and tests are hard, but he will spend all the time in the world with you. Hes awesome. Take him.
This was an awesome class. Theres a lot of homework and the tests were hard, but the homework prepares you. He also gives hints in lecture for the exam content. Very available for individual help. Gives notes so you have an outline. Overall, awesome prof.
Golubski is a wonderful professor, but he teaches at UT, and isnt the easiest. If you do the homework and go to class, you will be fine. Go to his office hours. He is very cheerful and glad to help there. Lectures are good and he provides notes for every section. Focuses more on understanding than formulas.
The best math class i have ever taken. pay attention and do your homework and the tests of this class are a breeze
This class is NOT mandatory for a lot of careers at ACC, so I don't know why they got many of us into this class. You must have a certain level of stats training before, otherwise, you'll find this class extremely difficult. If you can skip it, do it! Chris has a very ironic sense of humor, and you must understand his jokes.
Chris is a great prof who cares but wont do the work for you. Go to his office hours and ask questions. The class is not a cakewalk- you need to put in the time or you will fail all the exams. Drops a couple homeworks and replaces a low exam with the final. Exams look like the written homework but with different problems.
Golubski was tough but fair. I took him last Fall, and a lot of our class didn't do a lot of work, so I was one of about half the class who was left after the drop date. He is really good at explaining, but can move fast if you don't stop him. Some people love him, some hate him because he has high expectations, especially on due dates.
Theres not much I can say. Before I took his class, all the reviews on here were great, after taking it I can beg to differ. Terrible. All self taught, always forgets to print notes, goes off track all the time, takes literally 2+ weeks just to grade an exam. Doesnt respond to emails. I cant stress enough, please dont take this class.
Heres the thing: theres a huge amount of homework in this class. If you get behind, its impossible to catch up. I only survived because Chris was there to help when I couldnt do some of the problems. He was great with that. But if you dont/cant do the work, youre toast.
At the beginning of the semester he seemed awesome and I felt good going into it. Math is my weakest subject and it's hard for me to understand from time to time. As the semester went on, he became rude and was all over the place. Cancelling class, forgetting papers, etc. You receive one set of notes and if you lose them you're screwed.
Golubski's class is difficult but if you keep up with assignments, ask questions and study outside of class you'll do good in his class. You have to come to class to get notes and written homework. There was times that he would forget notes and he would take a while to grade papers, he would also get of topic when going over notes.
He is an excellent instructor but tends to be very strict. Its all in the syllabus and he can be a real stickler for the rules. When hes one on one, hes awesome. Really tries to help you. But make sure you follow the rules or you could end up very unhappy. I saw it happen to a couple in my class.
Golubski was excellent in this class. He explained things so well and made sure we understood everything. He really knows his stuff and if you do the homework, you are good on tests. 10/10 would take again.
You have to do the homework and understand it to do well in this class. Math isnt heavy too much, but writing skills are essential. Has high expectations for students but is a really good teacher. Is very cool one on one and makes you feel like a person and not a number.
Great teacher, very clear in expectations and teaching. Hes patient if you ask questions and understands that people sometimes have anxiety about math.
Chris is an awesome professor. He has very high standards and the work is tough and plentiful. Sometimes very intense, but great at teaching and inspiring one on one. Great for wanting to learn rather than getting a grade.
Do NOT take this class over the summer!! Stats is so much information that has to be crammed into a short period of time. Instructor is good at explaining, but very intense.
Dr. Golubski is great at explaining material but this class goes so fast. Dont miss a day or youll get behind! Tests are similar to homework, so make sure you do it.
This class is hard but it totally got me ready for Calculus 2. Golubski is funny and easy to understand, but his tests are pretty hard. He expects you to know all the material very well. Dont come into this class without really knowing algebra and trig!
Best math professor Ive ever had. Tough but fair. Really cares about whether you get it or not. He came in on weekends to help our class.
This class was great but ngl, really hard. He expects you to really understand the material deeper than he goes in class. Dont miss class - it just goes too fast. Not enough office hours for everyone to ask lots of questions. Spend time in the Learning Lab.
Ill probably get downvoted by the same group of people who circles this site and sees this professor as a god, but oh well On paper the curricular can be unnecessarily hard, but it can prepare you and is good But he really made me question my worth as person. He boasted about his intelligence and can be demeaning to others, so I rarely spoke to him
Hes a really fantastic professor, teaches clearly and has high expectations. Is he always the nicest? No. If youre weak in something, he makes sure you know it, but more importantly, helps you fix it if youre interested. He prepared you for the next level.
He is the best for preparing you for advanced classes. In class, he moves fast but helps a lot in office hours. Calculus is hard and I had to work my butt off to get a C. Make sure you know your algebra and trig. GO TO OFFICE HOURS!
Hard to ask questions to & talks about himself a lot. If the entire class fails but one person gets that A on a test, he'll use that A as a metric of the test over everyone else and say "told you its possible" Really trigger happy with point deduction on tests. Overall its like he beats you over the head and only congratulates the ones who take it
Has a bit of a snarky side and called me out for being 1min late for class, but during COVID-19 when classes went online I gained a lot of respect for him. He's been very flexible and understanding during this time. Tests are a lot like the written homework, and it is very easy to get lost in all the information, so show up as often as you can.
The class was hard but he did a great job during this whole pandemic thing. He was available and patient when questions were asked. Was also very available during a lot of different times if we had questions.
This professor brags a lot about his wealth and his accomplishments. Can make you feel bad about yourself if you dont understand a concept even though he always claims hes not like other rude math professors. Made Calc way harder than it needed to be. Will NOT accept HW if you submit even a min late under any circumstances. No extra credit.
Great prof, very caring. Good for people with math anxiety. Still a hard class. Keep up with all the work.
Very hard class but he made it doable. Very approachable in office hours. Strict on late work unless you communicate. Talk to him - it goes a very long way!
Dr. Golubski is the most caring professor I have had. He encouraged the whole class, was willing to jump through hoops to meet us at almost any time, and gave us many chances to succeed. I recommend him to anybody who has math anxiety. He is a gem.
Dr. G is tough but fair. He goes out of his way to help you succeed. I could only meet on Saturday due to work and he took time out of his life to give extra help. Hes not easy but he is kind and helpful. Would take again.
Exams are tough in this class, but he prepares you for it. This was my second time taking the class and Golubski was way better explaining and much more patient than the last prof. He is more relatable too. Easy to talk to.
Prof G was really a great guy. My class in particular had many challenges with it and he dealt with them very professionally. He listens to what students say and adapts his teaching to our needs. No matter what anyone says, I think he is awesome. Solid choice if you dont like math.
If you would like to be left in the dark with lots of homework, this professor is for you. He was extremely unprofessional and failed to keep us updated through class announcements. Oftentimes I would email him and never get a response. Says he wants to make math "less scary and be there for his students" but is judgemental when answering questions
Dr. G explains things very well, but this class is so much work outside. He explains the basics well, but you need to be able to fill in the details. He's available in office hours and is willing to help you if you reach out. It's your typical math class. Do the work, get a decent grade.
I've always struggled with math and this was the first time I actually got it. Chris has a way about him that I could understand getting under people skin but I thoroughly enjoyed his class and even got a pretty good grade! No trick questions on test, straight forward and is pretty accessible for questions!
DO NOT TAKE. He almost never responded to student emails, asking for help. He said he doesn't have time to help us. He refused to explain material further when prompted. Very poor planning. Within the first month, a third of my class dropped. I'm a diligent student, but I passed because I got a tutor. I work part time. Not worth the $ I spent.
He never appreciate you if you are not super champion on mathematics. Please go with other Professors.
Dr. Golubski is a really great professor, but I think he doesn't realize how hard this subject is. He was really willing to help and put in time during office hours. He was very understanding when I had some issues and helped me get the work done. But this class was a real struggle for me.
Great professor, reasonably easy class. Very straightforward with expectations, cares about how you do. Spent lots of time in office hours with him, he is very patient.
Dr. G is a really good stats professor, but the class is hard. Make sure to ask him questions - he's very willing to help if you need it. I'm not the best at math but he made me feel comfortable to ask questions.
I left a bad review for Professor G a while ago. But now that I have taken precalc I realized that he only had good intentions for us. He can be harsh. He has tough policies. His exams are hard. But he will help you if you ask. And trust me, if you are weak in algebra, precalc will be awful. Do not make the mistakes I did.
Incredibly pompous. Refused to admit any wrongdoing and constantly changed his policies at his convenience. Created an incredibly uncomfortable learning environment. Stay away from this professor at all costs.
Dr. G explains things very well but this class is hard. You have to do the work to pass. He has strict policies but helps you if you ask. I learned a lot in his class.
Professor G can be tough, but the material is manageable with dedication. Utilize Unstuck study and the free textbook - they complement his lectures well. Attend class, take notes, and you'll likely earn a decent grade.
