If you read the textbook and attend class then you're bound to get a really good grade. not once have i stressed out in that class (except for the group project (>_<), but that's a different story. Attending his class was like a fun field trip. he always made me laugh! he's extremely gorgeous. i admit, i fell hard for my teacher. I did learn a lot!

Maybe not a HOT as everyone makes him out to be, but he's a very good looking man who has lots of Charisma about him. (But why shouldn't he, he IS a Psychology teacher, right?) The man is very friendly and knows his stuff. Definately recommended.

Awesome teacher, missed 4 classes in a fast track course and got mostly A's on the exams. All powerpoints on blackboard, classes are a lot easier and faster if you take printouts. If you have to take psychology, TAKE HIM!!!

His classes are very efficient and PP lectures are clearly given. I can see how someone can find his class difficult. If you miss class, don't like reading the book, and don't use the book website for practice tests then your going to have a tough time. With this class you can either come out stronger or fold like a lawn chair.

Great Teacher! He gives clear outlines of the points that he wants you to focus on and the lecture notes are available online if you happen to miss a class. He also keeps your grades updated online. Very excellent teacher with lots of in class activities to keep one's interest.

If you want an A this is what you have to do: be in class, read the book, and pay attention. The exams cover pretty much everything that was seen in class. I took him for Psych/Social Stats and the class was a breeze. If you are confident in your math skills, this class should be easy for you. Hayashi does a great job in explaining the material and the book he uses does a good job as well. Each class builds on the next so attendence is important, but not the end of the world if you miss a day.

Prof. Hayashi is a great professor (he's one of my favorites). Behavioral stats was a pretty easy class, but whenever anyone had questions or didn't understand something he was always more than willing to clarify things. His powerpoints are basically word for word out of the book, but still, read the book for the extra examples, they help!

Professor Chris, is very hot and sexy. He is also funny and open to what every you want to say. Loves his dogs. He can be hard to understand at times but gives you changes with extra credits, DO THEM. Read the book, take notes and you can make it in his class.

Fabulous professor! I had dropped Psych several times before his class! He makes the class fun and interesting. You can tell he enjoys what he does! For the first time, I have enjoyed Psych and want to take more classes from him!

Online physiological psychology class. Quite a bit of work so you have to keep up. Very helpful and understanding instructor especially when Blackboard software isn't working well during a test -- i.e. is very slow. Recommended if your schedule doesn't allow you to be in class like me. I work graveyard shift so it's perfect for me. By the way, research paper is required...

He's a friendly professor, knows his material and has a passion for it. Helpful and provides guidelines - college level with expecations from the student. He allows opportunity to improve grades and is fair. To each their own - but for a subject that isn't always exciting. His smile and persona really ads to his sexiness, especially in khakis. HOT!

He was an interesting professor. He can be strict about attendance, he'd "embarrass" students that walked in late. The class is easy if you pay attention, take notes, ask questions, do the hw, and STUDY! >;P It bothered me when he would respond so seriously when I asked for help after class compared to his "friendly" attitude in class. Amazing professor and the best at SWC. His teaching method is crystal clear. Attending class must be a priority and I wouldn't recommend showing up late to his class unless you enjoy having everyone wait for you to settle in. If you keep up on the reading, attend class and ask questions, you have a good chance at a good grade.

I took his Psychology 101 class at Southwestern. He is very clear in his teaching and helps you understand psychology even if you hate it. I would not, however, recommend you be late or even absent to his class. Also make sure you read the book because on exams he asks questions about things that he did not cover in a lecture but are in a book.

This is a class you are not allowed to be abscent. The guy is great, but the subject is not that easy and sometimes can be confusing. However,if you study enough, you'll get an A or at least a B. I recommend you to do your homework just a few days before the test so you remember everything during the test. Again, it is an easy B, and a hard A.

He's a great lecturer, really funny, and really hot. He knows the material and he presents it in a way that keeps you interested and actually makes you learn. His tests are difficult, but if you do the reading or go over the PowerPoints, you'll do fine. The lowest test score I ever got was a B+. He's not easy, though. Do the work.

Very handsome (as all the other young ladies say) and wonderful professor! I took his online class this summer and it was easy. There is alot of reading, but I believe much of the material was wonderful to read about. Just do well very well on dicussion boards, do all of the extra credit you can get a hold of, and study for exams! :)

Going to class was kind of fun. The little group discussions, stories, videos, Powerpoint presentations, and reading material made the class easy to follow.

I took him online. Got an A. You do about 4 exams, if you mess up you get to retake them. You also get about 6 Discussion Board Posts, pretty easy. And lastly he's so great that he gives you 25 extra credit points for five extra credit assignments. great!

The Professor is overall good, you can really tell that he knows his stuff. I would recommend him. You have to study to pass the class. He gives good explanations and examples. He is handsome like everyone says, but he also seems to be a little rude. Probably with good reason because if he were to be really nice then girls would be more attacted.

This is a very interesting course but I took it online and it was super hard. You have to read the textbook word by word or risk losing points on the test. I got an A, but I read the book and did the extra credit. Overall, Great prof and class. 4 exams, 1 optional research paper, 4 discussion boards, and 4 extra credit options. SIMPLE but HARD.

Took him two years ago. Straightforward PowerPoint lectures and exams. Difficult to remember certain concepts. He can be arrogant at times and not help you. I have seen him around campus on several occasions and he does not acknowledge you at all, even if you make direct eye contact. He thinks he is too cool for school, and I don't like that at all

Online. As fairly set up grading scale as possible. Very responsive and includes professor forums in the assignments. Show you are able to research and format in APA(!!!). Tests are extremely text-dependent. Extra credit assignments/paper offered. Probably easier than the campus lecture version he teaches. You'll get the grade you deserve.

for slackers.. very helpful instructor! he gives you extra credit options and so easy to follow and do! go at the learning center and get it done, turn it in and get lots of points. For those who Study and have an interest in PSYC 101, extremely clear and helpful. Very helpful PP slides, optional choice to take exam written or multiple choice.

Read the book and do the assignments then you'll do well. Know the terms especially and how they affect your body. Everything is fair game. Most people poorly on their first exam but he gives you PLENTY of chances for extra credit. Do it! I got an "A"

I promise you that if you review the notes, you will pass the class with an A. It's based on 5 exams. The final is not really a final. He gives some extra credit.

Excellent Professor, took fast track online class, Hard topic, You have to read every single chapter and do the study guides. Very interesting topics and discussion boards. Very helpful and writes comments on the Dbs and gives extra credit that helps a lot. Learn the objectives, read and study.

I had him previously for Psych 101 and I really enjoyed the way he taught. His lectures are all clear and he's good at answering questions and making sure you understand what you've learned. It's a bonus that he's total eye candy! His dimples are adorable!

I took psych 270 with Hayashi in the fall and to be honest with you .. I never scored higher than a 72% on his exams..Surprisingly .. This class was still my favorite! Hayashi is by far the best professor I've taken at swc. I've learned a lot through the semester and he's definitely motivated me to work harder.

Professor Hayashi had self-explanatory assignments. The way his assignment due dates were set up was a little off, which made me scramble to do some assignments last minute. The e-book we used was new, which had room for improvement. He honored your correct answer on quizzes, if it marked it wrong. A good professor to learn from.

Of course you can't miss because the class meets once a week lol. The person who wrote the last review probably complains about all classes that heshe doesn't earn easy grades on. I currently have an A and the class is a bit tough but Professor Hayashi is probably the best professor at SWC. He makes stats fun and he is willing to help! Take him!!!

Took this class online as an 8 week course. Boy was I in for a shock. Very clear grading criteria and assignments were super laid out. If you stay on top of things and do the work ahead of time, it's an easy A, but it's very very easy to fall behind. Overall good class, good teacher, but be prepared to be super self-motivated or else you won't pass

Professor Hayashi really knows how to take his teaching to the next level. Always keeps it interesting, and you can tell he loves his work. Just make sure to do the readings and pre-lecture quizzes, and the extra credit is a plus. Final for the class is a group project. I would definitely take him again!

He is very good at teaching Stats! Even though its a 3hr class, he made statistics fun to learn. I personally ACED this class, so I recommend reading the whole book (after class)- some HW Q's can be tricky (again,the book helps) and has helpful KEY TERMS that will be one the test; come by his office hrs for feedback on the group project -its 90pts

Expect to work! If you do well in an "active learning" kind of teaching this class and this professor is a great match for you! Prepare to interact with others, help others to help yourself and that's pretty much how I Aced this class! Lol

At first I thought this teacher was very over being a professor but this teacher actually gave good feed back and cares if a student understands what he's saying or not. If something comes up in your personal life he makes sure you have enough to keep up with the rest of the class. Homework is online and easy to follow. Very wonderful professor.

Professor Hayashi is one of the best professors I've ever had. If you pay attention and study for the test you will do fine in the class, he even gives you memory tips as part of the course. Ok so I didn't pass his class but he really is a great professor! This class is just really hard but he is there for you 100% and wants you to do great. Unfortunately, for me taking this as a night class was a bad decision, lots of aplia homework and a group project due at the end of the semester.

This class was a fast track and everything went by fast so time management is necessary. Every week you get 3 assignments to do a quiz, reflection on the chapter reading, and a discussion board. the next week is the same except for a discussion board you get a writing assignment. As long as you read, study, and do the work you will be fine.

Professor Hayashi is one of those professors that can inspire you to change your major. Truly cares about his students success, but makes you work for your grade. This is no easy A by any stretch of the imagination, but if you put in the work, it is most certainly attainable. If you take stats, take it with Hayashi. Hands down best professor here.

I really enjoyed my first time in taking Psychology 101! Professor Hayashi is the BEST ever! He makes learning fun and to think I take the 6:45pm-9:55pm Tuesday Class, married with kids and work night shifts too but not once did I fall asleep in his class. Right off the bat, Hayashi will notify his students that you will either understand the material or you dont. Stats definitely is a tough subject, but this professor has AMAZING lectures & you will be inclined to participate/be engaged! There is one group project, but Hayashi sets appointments to make sure youre on the right track. TAKE HAYASHI!

He can be a little intimidating but if you get to know him a bit, he is so caring. He sent an email just to check on me when I was going through some stuff.

The 1st few weeks he seemed very impersonal and a little rude. As time went on I could see he is pretty nice and DOES care how his students feel about him. If you don't understand something in this class (it happens a lot) just review material he posts on Canvas until you get it. It's a complicated subject, not bad teaching. He won't hold your hand

Professor Hayashi was my first in class, college class and he was amazing! Funny, informative lectures. Homework was not bad at all and was very helpful for each quiz. Would overall take him again, and make sure you attend class because his lectures along with his words are extremely helpful.

Every assignment is laid out from the beginning, no surprises as to what's coming to you. All the instructions are very clear in every assignment to the point where you know exactly what you need to do to get the letter grade you want to earn. One of very few professors that I like their lectures in. Attendance is taken SOMETIMES. Most of the time no though but thats later in the semester. I did all the extra credit and still received a B and there was lots of extra credit too. Tests were hard.

This professor makes difficult material fun and approachable! I took this as an online class. Be ready to read a plentiful of material and write about what you learned. I would be glad to take a course with Professor Hayashi again.

I took PSY 260 as an online class this summer and it was honestly really easy. He does require a textbook however, I never even read. I just skimmed for the answers. He is a tough grader, but gives you feedback on each assignment so you know what to do in order to receive an A. He is a really nice person and just wants you to learn tbh.

The class was very well paced, yes some assignments were difficult but I was given enough time to complete them. The class discussion weren't bad at all, the min word count was 300 words (which is very reasonable imo). You do have to read the textbook and it helps to quote it when required. He's very easy to reach and tries his best to help.

He's a good professor, a lot of professors assign way too much busywork now that we've switch online but professor Hayashi doesn't. The perfect amount of coursework and his instructions for each assignment are clear. There's a textbook however he provides it. He tends to like it when you go above the word count on assignments.

Honestly as long as you try you will pass the class. He doesn't give to much homework and everything is easy and reasonable. Just do the work and you should at the very minimum get a B. I absolutely recommend him. I was taking this class with another instructor and dropped the class. With this teacher I had zero issues.

It is the second time that I took professor Hayashi's class and I can tell that he is an excellent professor. He matters a lot for students and always try to bring on the class with modern situations. It is not easy but that way you are able to learn! This is my last college class and I feel so sad that I am not going to have another class with him

Hayashi clearly cares about is students. The course is reasonably challenging but as long as you complete the assignments, you will pass. The workload is consistent and all the information needed to complete it is found in the textbook. He gives constructive feedback based off the rubric.

he's good at teaching stats, His lectures are pretty long and cover a lot because of the class only being once a week but I think as long as you pay attention and take a lot of notes, the homework and exams will come pretty easy. The class wasn't too bad but he does make you do a big group project that is a lot of work and is 20% of your grade.

Overall a great professor I learned a lot from his class. I assume his in person classes are easier because online there wasn't much participation. For the final project if you're left to do it on your own it's pretty rough and I don't think TWO pages (Minimum) for a reflection paper that can be summed up in a max of 2 paragraphs is necessary 7/10

This was my second time taking this subject. And this was my first time taking it with Prof. Hayashi. He is such a great teacher that motivates and clearly teaches his class. He is an actual educator that wants his students to understand the background of stats not just how to do it. 100% recommend to have him as your next prof.

The subject involves learning statistics which may prove to be difficult for some but Proffesor Hayashi does well in explaining work and provides the opportunity to meet outside class time for help. Test heavy and group projects and you should take notes and ask questions if the subject material is difficult

An amazing teacher. Had him Fall 2020 Online and you'll learn a lot. Has extra credit if you show up to the Zoom Meetings. A tough grader, but gives great feedback in order to get the A. His knowledge, his passion, his ability to explain in-depth, is what makes him great. Lectures are amazing and you'll definitely want to participate.

I took his class last Spring 2020, but due to covid, it was switched to remote/online. One of the best professors I've had at SWC. Genuinely cares about his students, clear grading criteria, responds to his emails promptly & takes time to answer student questions during class, after, or by email. Very knowledgeable and funny too. Highly recommend!

Statistics is a hard hard course, but Professor Christopher Hayashi was a great professor and i definitely learned a lot from this course.

Taking stats with professor Hayashi was great. His lecture are interactive and informational. If you don't understand something, he holds consistent office hours twice a week. I would recommend his class.

Prof. Hayashi is a really good stats professor for Liberal Arts majors like Psyc and PoliSci. It's a great class to take and he makes it super interesting. Take his evening section as it's fast-paced and super fun with everyone else there. Would highly recommend :)

Please any young soul looking for a great teacher you must take this class. The work load is easy, and the assignments are spread out at a great weekly pace! There class may not be hard, but it is very informative due to the assignments. Just do your work the right way, get a good grade, and then take Mr. Hayashi again the next semester!

I took Psychology 101 with professor Hayashi this summer. The course was well-paced, and all assignments were available in advance. The textbook is easy to read, and a cheap paperback is available on Amazon if reading online strains your eyes. The professor gave good clear feed, which allowed me to improve my grade.

This being my fist collage class ever, I enjoyed this course a lot. Professor Hayashi set a clear grading rubric and you could see all the assignments and when they were due for the entire course. I would 100% recommend his class to other students.

Fast pace course, however the videos on the assignments are very interesting and kind of funny. You will have to read two chapters per week. You will learn a lot. He gives enough extra credit assignments. You should get a good grade.

I took this course over summer so there was more work than usual but content wise it was a very easy class and all assignments were clearly explained/easy to follow guidelines. Everything was open note which made the course load feel less stressful but still put in the work for it to do well on the quizzes. Definitely worth taking over the summer!

He's an excellent professor and very tough. He does encourage you to ask questions and if you're not understanding the material. Do take tutoring it will help you understand his lessons. Participating is a must. All I can say is his class is hard and if you are not up for the challenge don't bother taking it. Also, there is no extra credit.

I took Professor Hayashi for psych statistics and do recommend! He is a fair grader and provides the necessary tools to be successful. Review lectures, the textbook, and videos provided in the modules. He is also there outside of office hours when you need review. The more I studied and put in the effort the better I did. He is a great professor!

I would recommend taking professor Hayashis course! 10/10. Everything is very clear in the syllabus, the course is well structured, and the material is interesting. My advice if you take this class, fast-track or regular, is to make sure you dont leave the chapter reflections to the last minute. Overall, I enjoyed taking this course.

I've taken this class before COVID hit. The professor was very informative and clear on the subjects we covered through out the duration of the class. I failed the 1st time due to multiple units at the same time. This time, this class was online and I was able to have time to read the chapters that were required for the assignments.

Professor Hayashi is extremely lecture heavy, but is very organized with his power points and videos due to years of teaching PSYCH101. With a course as informational as this, his teaching style makes it so much easier to understand and take in. I hope he reads this and understands just how great of an instructor he really is.

There are not so many assignments, clear grading criteria, and many opportunities to increase your grade. Professor Hayashi makes the class entertaining and interactive. You need to put a little time each day to read the book (it is not mandatory, but believe me, it will help with the exams). He answers Canvas messages almost instantly.

the class was mandatory but i ended up liking it to the point of almost changing majors, you can tell the profesor likes the class, put a lot of attention tests are kinda hard and make you question your knowledge, memorization is not a go to here, start homework early procrastinating is a big no in this class.

DR. Hayashi is a great Psychology professor. His videos and discussions engage you to better understand the topic. He gives you a clear feedback in understanding what you are doing good and help you in understanding where you are doing wrong. I took him for summer and got an "A".

He grades very fairly.... I cannot complain even though I did (to myself lol), READ the rubric more than once before you submit any assignment, make sure you have everything the professor is looking for. Overall great professor, definitely take him!

The professor is knowledgeable and passionate about the topics and his lessons! He is clear about the grading and gives opportunities for everybody to get good grades. He explains what is expected from you multiple times and he is very consistent and didactic. Go to class, do the homework and read the book and you will get good grades.

This professor was wonderful, does not have surprises or different assignment but same things for each week all the way till the end. For example intro assignment, chapter reflecting assignment and quiz and it repeat just like that, then every section ends with two assignments that can be done whenever you can till it due.Great responder to emails.

I really enjoyed taking Professor Hayashi psych 101 course. His lectures are filled with information so prepare to take notes and pay attention. He is very straight forward on his grading criteria and assignments. As long as you follow through on his lectures and read the book, and do the assignments which are not lot, you will be set.

You will enjoy this class One of the best professors ive had this year, the course has intro assignment before each class, video/learning reflections and disscusions per test throughout the semester, the assignments are prescheduled so its easy to see them coming. we reviewed the test after completing it and talked with the peers next to us often

This is a seasoned professor and knowledgeable. Very important in his class to follow directions, even when they seem to easy. Easy to talk to as long as you are being honest. Work is what you would expect of a Psch class, reading and more reading, but not excessive.

This gentleman was very patient with students during lecture time when their was a misunderstanding about something. He was also very thorough and clear with his teaching. I would recommend taking his class because he wants to see every student succeed.

I took psych 101 in a 4 week online course, I think Professor Hayashi grades fairly and he gives good feedback if you do get points deducted for any reason. He provides advice on how to improve and he has a quick response time.

This class was a four week online course. Professor Hayashi gives good feedback on your work and is really fair on grading. I thought that this class was not so bad and even with the short time period for this course it was not stressful. As long as you do your work, and make an effort on your assignments you will do great in his class.

Great class, every assignment is nicely organized in Canvas. Rubrics are easy to follow and he will provide examples of what to expect. A lot of writing assignments but as long as you read the chapters and follow his rubrics you will be fine.

Highly recommend this teacher. I will say really try to do all of the assignments because the tests will get difficult and you'll need all the points you can get.

He's "strict" in how he wants things done, but it took me less than a week to understand his format. He might be a little dry or annoyed in some emails if you ask "obvious" things to him, but it's whatever tbh. Got a good grade by doing all he asked us to do, didn't take me that much time to do the assignments 3-4 assignments per week.

Professor Hayashi is a great instructor, it seems he loves to teach, and his profession, although the classes were online, I enjoyed taking the course. I learned a lot of new concepts and valuable information. But definitely if you want to pass you have to work. I'm happy with my results.

He also allows the class to change the exam day to the following class day.

Professor Hayashi made psychology really interesting! Attendance does matter and there are no exceptions. Always starts class by playing a song. Provides study guides, easy intro assignments every week, only 2 discussion boards, and makes lectures fun and interactive. Also provides extra cred opportunities at the end of each exam.

The professor gave us worksheets every class after the lecture(a bit long) that were helpful to understand the concept. Many accommodations: allowed to use a cheat sheet/formula packets for the exams. There were a lot of resources given on Canvas, and he had an extra credit opportunity. Not a lot of homework, and he's very nice. I would recommend.

Like most online classes, you will get out of it what you put into it. Every section is basically the same loop of work, so after you complete the first section, make sure you understand how to pace yourself for the rest of the sections and work and this should be an easy class to pass.
